"American capitalism, based as it is on exploitation of the poor, with its fundamental motivation in personal greed, simply cannot survive without force - without a secret police force. Now, more than ever, each of us is forced to make a conscious choice whether to support the system of minority comfort and privilege with all its security apparatus and repression, or whether to struggle for real equality of opportunity and fair distribution of benefits for all of society, in the domestic as well as the international order. It's harder now not to realize that there are two sides, harder not to understand each, and harder not to recognize that like it or not we contribute day in and day out either to the one side or to the other." -- Philip Agee, CIA Diary, p597

This Trophy Of Mainstream Media Arrogance Can Be Yours For Only $250

As we pointed out last weekend, with several days to go before the presidential election on November 8th, bookstores around the country started receiving a curious commemorative edition of Newsweek with their chosen candidate on the cover. As Infowars reported, the magazines went viral when a Twitter user, who works at one of those bookstores, tweeted the images with the comment, “I work at a bookstore and we typically get magazines early and lookie what we got here.”

While Newsweek later explained that they had created 2 versions of the magazine with Trump and Hillary on the cover, apparently they made a "business decision" to only print the "Madam President" version.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Apparently, copies of the President Hillary Newsweek have leaked out and are for sale on eBay.

Commentary: The unbearable smugness of the press

The mood in the Washington press corps is bleak, and deservedly so.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that, with a few exceptions, we were all tacitly or explicitly #WithHer, which has led to a certain anguish in the face of Donald Trump’s victory. More than that and more importantly, we also missed the story, after having spent months mocking the people who had a better sense of what was going on.

This is all symptomatic of modern journalism’s great moral and intellectual failing: its unbearable smugness. Had Hillary Clinton won, there’d be a winking “we did it” feeling in the press, a sense that we were brave and called Trump a liar and saved the republic.

Neocons Trying to Sneak Into Trump Administration

It’s a cliche to say that the cushiest positions of influence in any US administration go to figures who were seen to have brought something to the table during the campaign. Yet with the election of Donald Trump, a lot of high-ranking neoconservatives are expecting the exact opposite, figuring that they can step right into positions of power and influence despite openly campaigning against Trump.

Scenes from the liberal meltdown

Meanwhile, the CEO of Grubhub, the online food-delivery service, demanded that employees who agree with Trump resign, because “you have no place here.” (He had to retreat: His lawyers read him the First Amendment and noted that political discrimination also violates California law.)

This is just vicious stuff. But for pure pathos crossing into the absurd, we turn (as usual) to the college campus. Consider:

?The University of Michigan offered its traumatized students coloring books and Play-Doh to calm them. (Are its students in college or kindergarten?)

?The University of Kansas reminded its stressed-out kids that therapy dogs, a regular campus feature, were available.

?Cornell University, an Ivy League school, held a campus-wide “cry-in,” with officials handing out tissues and hot chocolate.

?Tufts University offered its devastated students arts and crafts sessions. (OK, not kindergarten — more like summer camp.)

After listening to his speeches and casting her vote for him, she expects Trump to toughen immigration laws, restore lost jobs, upend a corrupt political system, build a wall on the border, and be, as the millionaire put it, the "greatest jobs president that God has ever created."

"And if he doesn't, we will hold his feet to the fire."

Trump & Woolsey: Was There a Bait-and-Switch?

The day after Trump’s election, Woolsey was interviewed by the CBC and asked about U.S. national security priorities. Woolsey responded that it was necessary “to get straight who our friends and adversaries are.” He asserted that “Israel is our friend,” while he called Iran “the world’s leading terrorist state” and insisted that the nuclear agreement with Iran “is so bad it needs to go.” Tehran reached a deal with world powers (including the U.S.) on its nuclear program in July 2015. The Israel lobby has reportedly been trying to undermine the agreement ever since by linking Iran with ISIS terrorism.

Woolsey also called Russia and North Korea “problem states,” and when asked if a new relationship with Russia could be possible under Trump as president, he answered that it “has to be based on Russian performances, not Russian promises,” adding that “Russia’s got to stop conquering its neighbours, like Ukraine.”

Breaking! The New York Times Just Issued an Apology

On Friday, it finally happened. The New York Times, the mega newpaper that was behind the largest anti-Trump movement of the election has issued an apology to all it's subscribers for it's failed and biased reporting.

The New York Post reported: The Gray Lady feels the agony of political defeat — in her reputation and in her wallet.

After taking a beating almost as brutal as Hillary Clinton’s, the New York Times on Friday made an extraordinary appeal to its readers to stand by her. The publisher’s letter to subscribers was part apology and part defense of its campaign coverage, but the key takeaway was a pledge to do better.

The Unethicality of the Sore Loser

During live US presidential election coverage on RT, after it became clear that Donald Trump was going to secure the required number of electoral college votes to win the election, word came that Hillary Clinton would not make a concession speech that night. The moderator of the live election coverage at RT was gobsmacked. He called Clinton's behavior the "epitome of arrogance." It certainly did smack of being a poor loser.

It seems that being a sore loser has reached stratospheric dimensions, as some are trying to reverse the electoral defeat for Clinton because she won the popular vote. To be clear, there is no comparison to what befell Al Gore here. Gore also won the popular vote in the 2000 US presidential election, but he was considered by many to have won the majority of electoral college votes because of electoral fraud in Florida. Yet even Gore, who has a better case to have overturned his defeat in 2000 than Clinton has in 2016, eventually conceded defeat.

Submitted by Wayne Madsen via Strategic-Culture.org,

Defeated Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Rodham Clinton is not about to «go quietly into that good night». On the morning after her surprising and unanticipated defeat at the hands of Republican Party upstart Donald Trump, Mrs. Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, entered the ball room of the art-deco New Yorker hotel in midtown Manhattan and were both adorned in purple attire. The press immediately noticed the color and asked what it represented. Clinton spokespeople claimed it was to represent the coming together of Democratic «Blue America» and Republican «Red America» into a united purple blend. This statement was a complete ruse as is known by citizens of countries targeted in the past by the vile political operations of international hedge fund tycoon George Soros.

Bahrainis support senior Shia cleric Sheikh Qassim

Bahrainis have taken to the streets in several villages and towns in support of senior Shia cleric Sheikh Isa Qassim.

On Friday, a mass protest was held near Imam Sadiq mosque in the village of Diraz, the hometown of the cleric.

The demonstrators condemned Manama’s continued ban on holding Friday prayers in the village.

On June 20, Bahraini authorities stripped the 79-year-old cleric of his citizenship, less than a week after suspending the al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, the country’s main opposition bloc, and dissolving the Islamic Enlightenment Institution, founded by Qassim, and the opposition al-Risala Islamic Association.

People in the villages of Shakhoura and Abu Saiba also demonstrated in solidarity with Sheikh Qassem and the political detainees despite tightened security measures.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So far, these protests have been relatively peaceful; but if it gets out-of-control violent, with the US and UK not making any concerted efforts to blunt the anger of Shiite Bahrainis by negotiating even some minor concessions here, this may blow up in the Al-Khalifa monarchy's face like a bad trick cigar, and they may well be sent packing.

And of course, a revolution may well generate a complete evacuation of the US and UK Naval Base (just dedicated by Prince Phillip).

Donald Trump Wins US Presidency: A Blow to the Global Establishment…or Its Latest Iteration?

At the beginning of this presidential campaign, I thought Donald Trump’s candidacy might be a publicity stunt; like a bombastic prime time reality show. But I was aware that the hard-core neocon, war mongering Hilary Clinton was the real danger, in terms of foreign policy and international politics. Her policies and past crimes are completely in-line with the current US-imperial agenda of endless war and military might, and this makes her far far more dangerous than Trump. It also made her far more likely to win the election, I presumed.

His extreme outrageousness and egomania aside, I felt from the outset that Trump is perceived as a threat to the global corporate, militarized establishment and its political allies, and that this is the real reason he has been demonized adhominem by the political establishment and the media in the US, across party lines. Most democratic and republican politicians and media pundits are part of the global establishment machine.

Could Obama's last act as president be pardoning Hillary? White House won't rule out last minute clemency that would protect Clinton from Trump

The White House opened the door on Wednesday to a pardon for Hillary Clinton for crimes she may have committed in connection with her secret server.
Press Secretary Josh Earnest deflected a question about President-elect Donald Trump’s intent to appoint a special prosecutor to review Clinton’s emails by saying that the White House doesn’t announce pardons before they’re doled out.
‘The president has offered clemency to a substantial number of Americans who were previously serving time in federal prisons. And we didn’t talk in advance about the president’s plans to offer clemency to any of those individuals,’ he said.
Earnest added, ‘That’s because we don’t talk about the president’s thinking, particularly with respect to any specific cases that may apply to pardons or commutations.’

Obama set to green-light disputed Dakota Access pipeline

The Obama administration is expected to approve the disputed easement for the Dakota Access pipeline as soon as Monday, according to two sources familiar with the timing — dealing a major blow to climate activists even before Donald Trump takes office.

The decision would let the pipeline be built across the Missouri River near the Standing Rock Sioux's reservation in North Dakota, where protesters have been camped out for months in one of the largest ongoing environmental standoffs of recent years.

The move is not surprising, given that Trump's upset victory tees up the $3.7 billion oil pipeline's eventual approval no matter what the outgoing administration decides. But the expected move is raising concerns among some Dakota Access opponents that nationwide protests planned for Tuesday could turn uncivil.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please, protesters, on Tuesday, do not listen to those who advocate violence here; you will be horrifically outnumbered, and outgunned, and I fear for your - and your children's - physical safety.

But this move on Obama's part is simply a continuing, and painful, demonstration that he is no less a creation of corporate masters than are his Republican colleagues.

Poll: Half of America Can’t Afford More Than $100 a Month on Health Insurance

More than half of Americans—52.5 percent—say they cannot afford to spend more than $100 a month on health insurance premiums, according to a poll from HealthPocket, a technology company that compares health plans.

The group asked survey respondents at the beginning of open enrollment what was the highest monthly premium they could afford to pay for health insurance in 2017.

More than half of respondents said $100 a month or less, while 15.9 percent said they could afford to spend $200 a month.

Just over 11 percent said they could afford $300 a month, 5.5 percent said they could afford $400 a month, and 4.8 percent said they could spend $500 a month, while and 9.8 percent said they could afford $500 or more.

“Double-digit rate increases for people purchasing insurance in the Affordable Care Act market has renewed questions regarding what people can afford to pay for coverage,” the survey states.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We are seeing droves of people avoid regular checkups because they do not have the money to pay,and cannot afford the more expensive programs, under Obamacare, which is rekitting as I type this.

I hope President-Elect Trump finds a way of making health care more accessible and affordable for more people.

In Europe, there are many, very basic "single payer" programs which people are required to buy; need is completely matched to care, and the insurance companies make their money by selling more elaborate policies when they can.

The Anti-Trump Protesters Are Tools of the Oligarchy — Paul Craig Roberts

Who are the anti-Trump protesters besmirching the name of progressives by pretending to be progressives and by refusing to accept the outcome of the presidential election? They look like, and are acting worse than, the “white trash” that they are denouncing.

Colleges and universities nationwide are establishing "safe spaces" for students troubled by the results of the 2016 presidential election, offering everything from counseling hours to painting activities.

St. Mary’s university has embraced the trend of colleges shielding students from the presidential election, offering a safe space with “warm drinks” and “nourishment” for students who are stressed by results.

Ete Martinez Anderson, the assistant dean of Student Life, sent a school-wide email encouraging students to “take a deep breath” and console each other in the Intercultural Center (ICC) and the Women’s Resource Center (WRC).

“Whether you’re celebrating a victory or grieving a loss, let us remember to take care of each other,” Martinez Anderson wrote, informing students that they could come to the WRC to “paint, engage in creative projects, dialogue, and reflect.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The colleges doing this are really doing their students an horrific disservice.

Real life holds absolutely zero safe spaces, and the sooner students understand this, the better they will be able to cope with the disappointments they will have to endure along the way of becoming self-actualized human beings.

But what has to happen here, after all the consoling, the art work, and the dialogue, is that these students coming to grips with the reality of why their favored candidate didn't win the election, and taking practical steps to avoid such a situation in 2020.

1. The Clinton Cartel machine robbed Bernie Sanders of his chance at the Presidency by cheating every possible, creative way they could. That is a fact, now substantiated in various lawsuits around the country. Had Sanders been the Democratic nominee, I could have very well gotten behind him, and supported him; but the Clinton Cartel made absolutely certain that was not going to happen.

2. Although Clinton likely won the popular vote, she did not win enough votes in the Electoral College to swing the election her way. One practical thing college students may want to get behind is sponsoring legislation to do away with the electoral college completely; trust me, many Democratic Legislators may want to get behind this in a big way right now!

3. Students should advocate that the National Democratic Committee get rid of their crooked, globalist, sociopathic leaders and replace them with individuals who actually care about the people of this country. Donna Brazile should be bounced out of her position in party leadership yesterday. Perhaps this would be a meaningful, constructive way of bringing Sanders back perhaps as party co-chair with (now) Senator Tammy Duckworth, the first Asian-American Senator from Illinois who is also a disabled Veteran.

4. Students need to understand that at the end of the day, this election was a referendum on continued economic - and social -costs of globalization, versus the choice to re-embrace American nationalism; and because of all the hurt globalism has caused so many people in this country, getting their jobs offshored/outsourced to a country with ultra low labor costs, like Malaysia, where the use of slave labor is still the norm. Those jobs had been the bedrock of middle class America, and that has been collapsing before our eyes.

5. Perhaps, at the end of their "safe spaces odyssey", these students need, instead their "Buddha on the Road" moment, to see what has happened to this country over the last 12 years. These wars, promoted by both Bush and Obama, have not made us anymore "safe"; they have, however, lined the pockets of major corporations quite well, but cost We the People trillions. Domestically, effects of homelessness and hunger have escalated mightily over the last 12 years.

Homeless tent cities expand all over the US in 2016

Childhood Hunger in America

And I really hope that their first response to this is an honest anger, that things could be allowed to get so bad in this country, and then, secondly, to reflect, and ask themselves what THEY are going to do to make things better where they are? And one of the first things that comes to mind is, they can volunteer at some charity they feel good about, which does feed the homeless, help the lonely elderly, and medically fragile. That is one, positive, and way of taking ownership, locally, of some of the daunting issues facing this country today, and it is something that everyone can do, to at least a small degree.

When the Amish raise a barn, the work is done in one day, because everyone is working cooperatively, and in the spirit of good will. Having your "safe space" will, ultimately not get the barn built, and in their despair, I think this what these students really need to hang on to; a sense that they can make a positive difference by what they are doing in the community.

Diet soda is supposed to offer you the sweetness of regular soda without any additional calories. However, new information has confirmed that diet soda is actually linked to a myriad of health problems including diabetes and Alzheimer’s.

Aspartame may result in methanol toxicity, which has recently been linked to Alzheimer’s disease. Good diet and nutrition is key to helping people ward off the worst form of dementia, but many may think that diet soda is not doing their body any harm and drink it in excess despite an otherwise healthy diet.

Diet soda can also cause unwanted weight gain. While your body digests this artificial sweetener, your cravings for real sugar actually increase. The chemical can also make it so that your appetite becomes bigger, so instead of losing weight, you’ll be fighting off cravings for fatty and sugary foods.

Recently leaked emails from Podesta show that originally there were concerns about approving aspartame by the FDA altogether.

Webmaster's Commentary:

No matter if it ultimately kills you, the FDA will usually approve a substance, if it makes money for the manufacturer.

Thinking that the FDA is there for your health and safety can prove very hazardous to your health!!

The Clintons and Soros launch America’s Purple Revolution

The Obama administration, through the CIA led by Saudi asset John Brennan, fed weapons, training and billions of dollarsto "moderate rebels". These then turned around (vid) and either gave the CIA gifts to al-Qaeda in Syria (aka Jabhat al Nusra) or joined it themselves. The scheme was no secret at all and Russia as well as Syria pointed this out several times. The Russian foreign Minister Lavrov negotiated with the U.S. secretary of State Kerry who promised to separate the "moderate rebels" from al-Qaeda. But Kerry never delivered. Scott Adams: While You Were Looking in the Wrong Direction

In 2016, no thinking person believes gender is a job requirement for president. That isn’t even a thing anymore. And Clinton did that for the country. You have to respect that.

Veterans Day is typical .01% rogue state inversion to ‘honor’ duped military ‘serving’ forever lie-started illegal Wars of Aggression. Truly thank Veterans by demanding arrests of US ‘leaders’ who treasoned them to attack, invade, occupy victims of Empire

*hyperlinks/videos live at source*

hat tips: David Swanson, Tomato Bubble

Veterans Day inverts the history of Armistice Day and subsequent treaty victories making ongoing US armed attacks Orwellian illegal. Worse, all US military veterans since WW2 have been lied into illegal Wars of Aggression that violate military Oaths of enlistment to uphold the US Constitution, and basic training to refuse illegal orders (there are no lawful orders in unlawful armed attacks).

Importantly, those of us working for peace are unaware of any attempted refutation; that is, we’ve never encountered anyone who argues: “War law is (a, b, c), so the US wars are legal because of facts (d, e, f).” If any reader has found any such argument, please share it with me.

As a professional academic, I do what we all do: point to facts, and ask anyone interested to verify what exists in objective reality:

Anti-Trump protesters march for 3rd night; Portland police call it a 'riot'

An anti-Trump rally in Portland, Oregon, revved up as protesters confronted police Thursday night. What started out as a peaceful march, with more than 4,000 people, quickly turned violent.

Over the course of the evening, "anarchists" in the crowd threw objects at officers, vandalized local businesses and damaged cars, Portland Police Sgt. Pete Simpson said.

Where this is going wrong is that these riots, the vandalism, the attacks on journalists, etc. are presenting a public image of Hillary supporters that the people will not find any sympathy with, let alone support. Poor Liberals: You have Nobody to Blame but Yourselves

Every four years you come out of hibernation, and run about the country like so many chickens with their heads cut off, ranting and raving about how we all have to vote for the Democratic presidential candidate, or else the world will come to an end. We will be enslaved to a redneck, who dropped out of high school and works in a gas station, or a KKK guy – or worse!

In actuality, the real problem is that when you look in the mirror, you see an educated person, a literate person, an articulate person. You see someone who is wise, cultured, unequivocally left wing, logical, and above all rational. This person you are looking at does not exist. This person does not exist, any more than if I were to look in the mirror, and believe I was looking at a hippopotamus or a water buffalo.

In certain circles, this is often referred to as insanity. You might want to talk to your therapist about that.
