Fearful College Students Cry and Call for a Safe Space Because Someone Chalked "Trump 2016" on a Sidewalk

One wonders what happens to these "adults" once they leave the hallowed safe space that is their campus and they have to deal with the real world where no one cares if they are scared of chalk. A world where someone might — GASP! — put a "Trump 2016" sign in their own front yard, for example? A world where the news media might show pro-Trump rallies in the 2016 election coverage.

Do they fall down on the sidewalk and ball into a fetal position and weep? Drive their cars into a tree?? Do their heads explode like in the movie Scanners???

Price of neglect: Michigan must spend billions on water, sewer fixes

When Mike Gutow bought his home on Lake St. Clair in May of 2011, it was with fond childhood memories of fishing, swimming and skiing its clear waters.

“Paradise,” he said. “It’s the best way to describe it. Lake St. Clair was paradise.”

A few days after he moved in, a heavy rain fell, and two or three days later, “this glob appeared at the seawall that was about three-feet thick,” Gutow said. “Mixed in was a lot of dead fish. At first it was like, what the heck is this? I’d never seen anything like it before, but, bad as it was to look at, the smell was even worse.”

He now knows what he was seeing and smelling was the result of a sanitary and storm sewer system that is outdated, underfunded and unable to handle the amount of stuff flowing through its pipes, especially in a moderate or heavy rainfall.

Teacher who got fired after student stole her nude pics sues school district

A South Carolina high school teacher has sued (PDF) the school district that employed her after she was pushed to resign when a student grabbed racy pictures off her smartphone.

Leigh Anne Arthur resigned from her job earlier last month when she was told she would face disciplinary proceedings because a student grabbed photos off her phone while she was on a routine hall patrol.

At the time, Arthur complained that she, rather than the student, was the one being punished. The student shared the racy pictures of Arthur with his friends as well. Arthur said the pictures were a Valentine's Day gift for her husband, and she forgot to erase them from her phone.

"He knows right from wrong," she said of the student in a TV interview shortly after the incident. "Where are you putting the moral of the student?"

Webmaster's Commentary:

Israel - Map Censorship

What is the difference between a textbook publisher giving into pressure from Christian fundamentalists seeking to censor the teaching of evolution, and a publisher giving in to Zionists seeking to censor awareness of the ethnic cleansing of Palestine? Neither phenomenon is a matter of opinion or perspective. One act of censorship denies facts established by scientific research. The other denies the documented violation of international law (for instance, the Fourth Geneva Convention) and multiple UN resolutions. So the answer to the question just asked is – there is no difference.

Why Hillary Clinton Should Fear Robert Kagan

She should fear Robert Kagan because he provides an intellectual basis for her worst instincts. Her instincts are to solve problems by force, to assert American might. And then most of the problems we’re facing now—the lead of our foreign policy should not be force. Force has got to be there, and it's got to play a role, particularly in the issue of terrorism, fighting terrorism. But basically, it’s got to be diplomacy and economics, and organizing alliances for action to tackle these problems. That’s got to come first. And Kagan really doesn’t put much store in organizing coalitions to tackle problems—it’s all about assertion of American might.

An Angle the Media Will Report on: Syrian Migrants Stop 7 Year Old from Being Raped by Afghani at Greek Border

Considering the stylized pictures of the procession and the public relations-esque media response to this event, one cannot help but wonder if this whole highly publicized response is just a way to shine a positive light on the myriad horror stories of rape and sexual assault that continue to spill out of the migrant wave across Europe, an attempt to push a story in the media that for once doesn’t feature migrants raping women and children (although it still kinda does).

The media has already been caught time and again attempting to cover up migrant sexual abuse and rape.

The U.S. Government Continues Torture Practices As American Public Remains Silent

ICTS uses the security system employed in Israel, whereby passengers are profiled to assess the degree to which they pose a potential threat on the basis of a number of indicators, including age, name, origin and behavior during questioning.

This will not, however, be the first time that ICTS has come under scrutiny for possible security lapses leading to a 'Muslim terror attack'.

US Rejects Emergency Meeting with Russia on Syria Ceasefire Violations

Long-term struggle continues. Syrian UN envoy/chief peace talks negotiator Bashar al-Jaafari resisted pressure by Steffan de Mistura, proximity talks go-between, serving Western, not Syrian interests.

Al-Jaafari blasted Security Council members and other rogue states supporting terrorism.

It’s well-known what’s “happening on the Syrian-Turkish border and in Golan, and the way Israel is tending to the injured Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists and treating them in its hospitals, with Qatar paying the bill.”

Endless war continues. Washington rejected Russia’s call for an emergency meeting on continued ceasefire violations. Putin’s patience has limits.

According to Russian General Staff’s main operations head Sergey Rudskoy, Moscow will use military force against ceasefire violators beginning March 22 - once “proof of systematic violations of obligations” is verified.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This is really a lousy state of affairs for Syria, and that the US government has rejected an emergency meeting with Russia over cease-fire violations, does not at all bode well for peace in the region.

Ukraine to call up 10,000 soldiers in new mobilization drive

Ukraine's military will call up some 10,000 men and seek volunteers to replace some of the 45,000 soldiers who are due to return home after more than a year on the front lines in the separatist east, President Petro Poroshenko said on Tuesday.

A February 2015 ceasefire failed to completely halt the conflict with pro-Russian rebels that is entering its third year. Sixteen soldiers have been killed so far in March - the army's highest monthly death toll since August, according to Reuters calculations based on military data.

Almost all Ukrainian men have to do at least one year of military service and can then be called up to fight until they reach 60 years of age.

Ukraine's military will call up some 10,000 men and seek volunteers to replace some of the 45,000 soldiers who are due to return home after more than a year on the front lines in the separatist east, President Petro Poroshenko said on Tuesday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Upon reading this, and understanding that the Ukrainian government is completely broke, you might be scratching your head, and wondering just where the money is coming from, but I can tell you; it is coming from your tax dollars.

As reported at the website: usa.mfa.gov.ua/en, in December of last year:

On December 18, 2015 President Barack Obama signed into law the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2016 passed by the Congress earlier that day. December 18, 2015. President Barack Obama signed into law the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2016 passed by the Congress earlier that day. The Law is comprised of twelve bills that appropriate the funding for the federal government. According to the Act, the U.S. assistance to Ukraine will significantly increase. Of the funds appropriated by the Department of State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs Appropriations Act, 2016, constituting part of the omnibus legislation, not less than $658,185,000 shall be made available for assistance for Ukraine, which is $145 million above the initial request. Combined with resources from other funds that may become available for the U.S. Department of State and Department of Defense, the total amount of funds for the defense and security assistance to Ukraine may exceed the authorized level of $300 millions allocated for Ukraine in the National Defense Authorization Act, 2016. These appropriations also include $250 millions to be available to the Secretary of Defense to provide Ukraine with assistance, including training; equipment; lethal weapons of a defensive nature; logistics support, supplies and services; sustainment; and intelligence support to the military and national security forces of Ukraine.

That's right, folks; while American infrastructure rots, and homeless Vets, who cannot get access to the health care they so desperately need, sleep in our streets, this Administration has seen fit to award $658,185,000 to the Ukrainian government.

And please remember; this is a government so collectively crooked, that it has to screw its socks on in the morning.

Universal Vaccinations for Children will be Overseen by Committee which Accepts Vaccine Manufacturer Monies

A close scrutiny of this Advisory Committee reveals that quite a number of its members are enriching themselves through vaccine industry “donations” or grants.

According to Propublica, a number of these vaccine experts on the Advisory Committee are accepting large sums of vaccine company money. Dr. Gregory Poland, who is with the American College of Physicians and also the Mayo Clinic, has received a total of $17,351.00 from vaccine manufacturers Novartis Vaccines and Sanofi Pasteur. Massive US airstrike in Yemen kills 'dozens' of people, Pentagon says

A massive US airstrike in Yemen has killed what the Pentagon estimates is “dozens” of people, the second such mass-casualty strike the US military has undertaken this month.

The two strikes, killing more than 200 people at what the Pentagon described as terrorist training camps, diverged so sharply from the previous years’ worth of relatively low-casualty strikes that observers speculated US policy may have quietly changed.

America’s Fake War Against ISIS Grinds On

A recent US Senate Armed Services Committee (SASC) hearing considering the nominations of General Joseph Votel and Lieutenant General Raymond Thomas for command of US Central Command and US Special Operations Command respectively, exposed the absurdity of America’s war on the so-called “Islamic State” (ISIS).

While the Syrian Arab Army backed by Russian airpower successfully cuts off entire armies of terrorists from their supplies abroad, while encircling and eradicating them within Syrian territory, the US appears instead to be attempting to stretch out ISIS’ existence while maintaining the illusion of fighting the terrorist organization for as long as possible.

Mar 23 10:17

Monday night, the US he House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly to declare that Islamic State is committing genocide against Christians and other minority groups in Iraq and Syria.

In a unanimous 393-0 vote, the House resolution comes just days before the State Department is legally mandated by Congress to determine whether Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) persecution of minorities in Iraq and Syria – Christians, Yazidis, Sunni Kurds and Shiite Muslims – constitutes genocide, reports RT.

“What is happening in Iraq and Syria is a deliberate, systematic targeting of religious and ethnic minorities. Today, the House unanimously voted to call ISIS’s atrocities what they are: a genocide. We also will continue to offer our prayers for the persecuted,” House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin) said in a statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In an instance of bizarre timing or, perhaps, foreknowledge, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned Europe only four days agothat it could see terrorist bombings and attacks in its cities in the near future if it does not cease support for and cooperation with Kurdish “militants.”
Interestingly enough, Erdogan mentioned Brussels as a potential target by name.

Only four days before the Brussels attacks, Erdogan spoke at a commencement ceremony for the 101st anniversary of the Battle of Gallipoli in Canakkale, Turkey on March, 18 where he stated that “there is no reason why the bomb that exploded in Ankara cannot explode in Brussels, in any other European city.”

“The snakes you are sleeping with can bite you any time,” he added.

While ISIS, a Western-created and NATO-directed terrorist organization, has claimed credit for the bombings, it should be pointed out that Erdogan was referring to “Kurdish militants,” whom Turkey considers terrorists.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In the world of geopolitics, there is almost no such thing as coincidence...

Kremlin: Putin, Kerry to Meet in Moscow on Wednesday

The Kremlin has confirmed that a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will take place in Moscow on March 23, the state-run TASS news agency reported Tuesday.

“A meeting between Kerry and Putin will indeed go ahead,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists, TASS reported.

“Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will brief the president on their contacts. A sufficiently broad scope of issues will certainly be brought up during the course of the talks, primarily on the pressing topics of Syria and Ukraine,” he added.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would like to be optimistic about the potential outcome of this meeting, but find I cannot be, particularly regarding Syria.

The US still wants regime change, and the ouster of Al-Assad; Putin will have none of it.

And there is a question of how the horrific attacks in Brussels yesterday may color things, particularly from the US side. As reported today by Mike Snyder at blacklistednews.com:

In fact, a former top adviser to Hillary Clinton started calling for a Syrian invasion within just hours of the attacks… A former adviser to Hillary Clinton on Syria, Frederic C. Hof, now a Resident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Rafik Hariri Center for the Middle East, has called for invading Syria in the wake of the deadly attacks in Brussels. “For the better part of a year, one clear recommendation has been on the table: assemble an American-led, coalition-of-the-willing, professional ground component—one top-heavy in regional and European forces—to enter eastern Syria to close with and kill ISIS. Engaging the Syrian opposition at all levels, consistent with an executable civil-military stabilization plan, can produce an administrative structure for an ISIS-free eastern Syria. Killing ISIS in Syria can ease the migration crisis and hasten the demise of this murderous band in Iraq. And it can demonstrate to the credulously stupid that linking up with losers will be a one-way trip to self-destruction,” Hof writes.

Clinton Claims Victory but Arizona's Voting Fiasco Dubbed "National Disgrace"

Something was amiss in Arizona on Tuesday. As Hillary Clinton claimed victory in the state's Democratic primary, thousands of voters were left out to dry, with shuttered polling places, endless lines, and widespread reports of disenfranchisement.

In Maricopa County, which includes the capital Phoenix, voters waited up to five hours to cast a ballot after the County Elections Office slashed the number of polling sites from 200 in 2012 to just 60 this year. As the state's most populous county, this amounted to more than 20,000 voters for every available polling location.

Notably, many Latino areas were left with either just one or no polling places. Maricopa County Recorder Helen Purcell defended that decision, saying, "we looked at an area, and factored into that how many early ballots we usually get in that area and how many people normally vote at the polls. We didn’t look at it as legislative districts. We looked at the overall picture of our voters."

UTAH CAUCUS: First hand insider report - Incompetence, Manipulation, and Ballot Stuffing!!!

Someone shows up with a stack of probably 250 ballots. The precinct chair splits them up, and starts handing stacks of them out and tells people "take one and pass it down".

No checking credentials, IDs, NOTHING.

I'm sitting at the end of a row and people start handing me stacks of extras. I literally had over 50 ballots in my hand.

[link to i.imgur.com (secure)]

We were told to mark our vote and place our ballot in a tin can. They then asked for a volunteer to hold the can. At this point, most people filed out the door.

I cast ONE vote, then stuck around to see what would happen with the votes.

About 15 minutes later, with only about 10 or so people milling around, someone walks in the room with an envelopes STUFFED full of "absentee" ballots - some envelopes having 2-5+ ballots.

Obama says world must unite against terror after Brussels attack

The terrorist bombings in Belgium on Tuesday are "another reminder we must unite" in the fight against terrorism, President Obama said before a speech to the Cuban people here this morning.

"We will do whatever is necessary to support our friends in Belgium," Obama said.

“We stand in solidarity with them in condemning these outrageous attacks against innocent people,” he said. “This is yet another reminder that the world must unite, we must be together.”

Obama was briefed on the Brussels explosions Tuesday morning at at the U.S. Embassy in Havana, where he was staying on the third day of his Cuban visit, White House officials said.

He spoke to Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel before the speech and offered the condolences of the American people, the White House said. Obama offered U.S. assistance in investigating the attacks.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A short memo to President Barack Hussein Obama; sir, I am all for all of humanity standing shoulder to shoulder, against terror.

But what, sir about the terror the US military has been unleashing on the world for the last two decades, primarily to expropriate natural resources to which this country, and the corporations which so lavishly fund its politicians, have absolutely no moral right?!?

In Iraq, where Saddam Hussein destroyed all of his MWDs, which President Bush claimed he still had, the US military went in to control the country's oil and make sure that all oil sold was only sold in US dollars.

In Afghanistan, the war there (going into its 14th year, if my math is correct) was about leasing pipeline routes, the embarrassment of riches in minerals, and the opium crop.

In Israel, the alleged "war on terror", aided and abetted by US technology and weaponry, has been a war against the Palestinian people, and has included serial genocide; the indefinite detention of Palestinian children, who are tortured to sign confessions in a language they neither read nor understand (Hebrew), and where homes in which Palestinian families have lived for generations, have been brutally annexed for settler occupation.

In Yemen, the US-enabled, intelligence-equipped, and armed Saudi military has been assassinating civilians; destroying hospitals and schools; and private residences.

Sir, it is apparent that I need to remind you that such activities are war crimes, because you seem to have managed to conveniently forgotten that. Can we attribute that, perhaps, to SMD (selective memory disorder)?!?

Then, Mr. President, we have the issue of extrajudicial assassinations. This is so immorally far from the Constitution and Bill of Rights, that I do not know where to begin.

But the right to due process, which those assassinated never get, is enshrined in American jurisprudence. And you, as a former lawyer and Constitutional law lecturer, sir, should know this.

And what is even worse is, our military is only killing the alleged "bad guys"; they are also killing innocent infants, children, women, and the medically fragile, with these drone attacks.

And finally, Mr. President, there is the reality that the US government has this pathological habit of propping up tinpot dictators, because these people are "our thugs".

There are few better examples of this than US support for the Al-Khalifa monarchy of Bahrain, with a human rights record just to the right of that of Attila the Hun. This Sunni royal family, and their government, is constantly suppressing the Shiite majority here, and you turn a blind eye to this oppression, because Bahrain is home to the Navy's 5th Fleet. This country has not only arrested, and tortured, peaceful protestors, but also the first responders who cared for them after they were beaten and tortured by the Bahraini police.

And the late President Kennedy said it best; "When peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable." And sir, that is precisely what we are ultimately looking at here in Bahrain.

In summation, Mr. President, the US government CANNOT reclaim the moral high ground in the world until it:

1. Stops these insane and immoral pre-emptive wars of aggression.
2. Stops propping up tinpot dictators, because, ultimately their people will successfully rebel against them (Do you remember the 1979 Iran revolution, sir, when the Iranians deposed the Shah of Iran?!? This country's leadership SHOULD remember this, as a lesson in the ultimate consequences of installing a dictator in a foreign country).
3. Starts negotiating in good faith, in a fair and moral way, with countries with which we have intense geopolitical disagreements.

Court ruling allows police to stop and question innocent motorists within 100 miles of border

The United States Border Patrol operates 71 traffic checkpoints, including 33 permanent traffic checkpoints, near the southern border of the United States. Also, there are a number of Border Patrol checkpoints in the northern border states (New York or Maine), within 100 miles from the Canadian border. Fyi, nearly 200 million Americans live within the 100-mile interior checkpoint zone. Things are about to get much worse, expect to see more checkpoints across the U.S. after the recent Rynearson v. The U.S. ruling.

Webmaster addition: Here in Hawaii, that means the entire state is a "Constitution Free" zone. There is no place that is 100 miles or more from the border!

Reality Check: Proof U.S. Government Wanted ISIS To Emerge In Syria

Mar 23 09:47

America Created Al-Qaeda and the ISIS Terror Group

Much like Al Qaeda, the Islamic State (ISIS) is made-in-the-USA, an instrument of terror designed to divide and conquer the oil-rich Middle East and to counter Iran’s growing influence in the region.

The fact that the United States has a long and torrid history of backing terrorist groups will surprise only those who watch the news and ignore history.

The CIA first aligned itself with extremist Islam during the Cold War era. Back then, America saw the world in rather simple terms: on one side, the Soviet Union and Third World nationalism, which America regarded as a Soviet tool; on the other side, Western nations and militant political Islam, which America considered an ally in the struggle against the Soviet Union.

Truth emerges: The U.S. created ISIS!

You've probably heard or read somewhere that the United States government is responsible for the creation of the renegade Islamist terror organization known as ISIS. It may be tempting to write off the idea as some nutty conspiracy theory, Kremlin propaganda or at least a misinterpretation of the facts, but there is mounting evidence supporting the assertion – even the mainstream media outlets are now covering the story.

A recent op/ed piece published by The Guardian sheds some light on the subject – one which is admittedly complex and multifaceted, but not impossible to describe or understand in basic terms.

In the piece, titled "Now the truth emerges: how the US fueled the rise of Isis in Syria and Iraq," Seumas Milne outlines the series of events and policies that led to the rise of ISIS. As the details continue to surface, the extent of the US government's role has begun to be revealed:

Utah Vote Rigging

The title of Wired’s story was disturbing: “Utah’s Online Caucus Gives Security Experts Heart Attacks”.

The story opens up this way:

“Security researchers pretty much uniformly agree that letting people vote online is a very bad idea, one that is fraught with risks and vulnerabilities that could have unknowable consequences for the future of democracy.”

“This week, the Utah GOP is going to give it a whirl anyway.”

But right out of the box I noticed a slight problem.

Who paid for the experiment? The Utah GOP paid more than 80,000 to purchase the equipment – not state election officials.

Belgian Terrorists Can Still Enter US Without a Visa

Leading lawmakers identified Belgium as a hotspot for terrorism months ago and are warning that many of the radicalized individuals living there are still able to travel to the United States without first obtaining a visa and undergoing thorough security checks.

Rep. Ron DeSantis (R., Fla.), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, told the Washington Free Beacon Tuesday afternoon that current flaws in the U.S. visa waiver program—which facilities travel to the United States from partner nations including Belgium—have created a loophole that could permit radicalized individuals to legally enter the United States with minimal background checks.

DeSantis is warning of these flaws on the heels of deadly mass terrorist attack in Brussels on Tuesday that has killed at least 30 and wounded hundreds more.

In the aftermath of the FBI's surprising request on Monday to postpone a hearing in its legal crusade to unlock Apple cellphones, many wondered who it was that had succeeded in penetrating the supposedly unhackable smartphone. Earlier today Reuters provided the answer: the FBI's effort is being assisted by Israel's Cellebrite, a provider of mobile forensic software, which is now helping the Feds in their attempt to unlock an iPhone used by one of the San Bernardino, California shooters, the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported on Wednesday.

If Cellebrite succeeds, then the FBI will no longer need the help of Apple Inc, the Israeli daily said, citing unnamed industry sources. It will also mean that the entire Apple "stand" for privacy and consumer rights was one big theatrical spectacle as both parties involved clearly were aware the iPhone can be penetrated with the right tools. Aptly enough, said tools have been found in Israel.

The horrific terror attacks in Brussels, Belgium on March 22, 2016 are going to reverberate in our memories for years to come, and perhaps that was the intention. Terror attacks are designed to create fear and to get attention, and these attacks have definitely done both. On Tuesday morning, two huge explosions ripped through Zaventem Airport in Brussels as travelers were getting ready to board their morning flights. You can view some raw footage of one of the bomb blasts right here. Just a short while later, another huge explosion was reported at a metro station just yards away from the European Commission headquarters. At this point, CNN says that at least 30 people have died and about 230 people are wounded as a result of these bombings. But what was the real motive for these attacks?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Our hearts, (and some of our prayers),naturally, go out to the families and friends of those who were killed and wounded in this horrific attack.

But even in our collective sense of being shaken badly by this incident, we have to pull ourselves together, and ask the logical, sang-foid question; cui bono?!? Who benefits?!?

It is certainly NOT Syria, from where most of the Jihadists have fled, and Russia's leadership has stated that they will unilaterally defend Syria from any outside attack against Syrian soil.

I'm looking at the Faux News feed (which I can only do with the sound off, to prevent intense nausea), and Andy Mc Carthy, a former US Assistant Attorney for the Southern District of New York, made the statement to the effect that if these attacks were planned in Syria or Iraq, it poses a grave security problem for the US.

However, to date, and to the best of my understanding, there is no concrete evidence which has been presented that this was, in fact, the case.

There are certain, powerful elements in this government, and beyond, (think: the Saudi Arabian and Turkish governments) who would love to see the US military invade Syria, to get rid of Al-Assad; of course, that, most probably, means war with Russia.

There are certain, powerful elements in this government and beyond, who would love to see the US military completely re-invade Iraq; they, of course, are willfully ignore thinking about the powerful Shiite Cleric, Moqtada Al Sadr, who recently has been a peaceful force against the corruption of the Iraqi government, but could reconstitute his Mahdi army against American forces in a heartbeat.

There are certain powerful elements in this government, and beyond, who would love a complete US reinvasion/occupation of Libya, to control its oil, and have it sold only for US dollars.

How this attack is ultimately going to be spun remains to be seen; but trust me - it will be spun, most probably to support one of the agendas I have outlined above.

While the world’s attention zeroed in on the attacks in Brussels, the U.S. made a stunning admission of responsibility for an attack of its own last year in Afghanistan: the deadly bombing of a Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF, or Doctors Without Borders) hospital in Kunduz.

“As commander,” said Gen. John W. Nicholson, who now commands U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan, “I wanted to come to Kunduz personally and stand before the families, and the people of Kunduz, to deeply apologize for the events.”

Those “events” comprised a bombardment via airstrike on the hospital on October 3, 2015 — and left 42 people dead and 37 injured.

“I grieve with you for your loss and suffering,” Nicholson added, “and humbly and respectfully ask for your forgiveness.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, in order to prevent anyone who was not an ally of the US or the Afghani puppet government from receiving care, even though they had no weapons once inside the hospital grounds, the US military destroyed the hospital entirely.

No wonder the Saudis have felt that they could bomb hospitals with impunity in Yemen; after all, they had the precedent set by the US military in Afghanistan!!

The Navy’s New $4.4 Billion Ship Is A Big, Shiny Waste Of Money

However fancy it may look, the USS Zumwalt’s development has been anything but smooth. The 600-foot ship will cost at least $4.4 billion, according to AP — more than twice the cost of the Navy’s current Arleigh Burke class of guided missile destroyers.

When the ship was originally proposed in the early 1990s, the Navy ordered 32 of the destroyers. As costs soared, commanders hacked the order down to three. At one point, they tried to kill the program entirely.

Now, the Navy is starting development of an entirely new destroyer — slated for completion in the 2030s — and is building updated Arleigh Burke destroyers in the meantime.

While President Obama has repeatedly criticized members of Congress for failing to pass common-sense gun regulations, one detail of his presidency has gone relatively unnoticed: He has brokered and authorized the sale of more arms to foreign governments than any other US president since World War II.
