US Violence Breeds a Language of the Grotesque

Another week, another series of school and university shootings in the US, and another chance to hear phrases such as “active shooter” and “campus lockdown” repeated over and over by police, school administrators and journalists. These phrases – chilling in their clinicalness – are not only stark examples of the militarization of the language of everyday life, but also reminders of how the language used to describe actual US military aggression has been influenced by the neutral, image-conscious world of public relations.

On Building Armies (and Watching Them Fail)

First came Fallujah, then Mosul, and later Ramadi in Iraq. Now, there is Kunduz, a provincial capital in northern Afghanistan. In all four places, the same story has played out: in cities that newspaper reporters like to call “strategically important,” security forces trained and equipped by the U.S. military at great expense simply folded, abandoning their posts (and much of their U.S.-supplied weaponry) without even mounting serious resistance. Called upon to fight, they fled. In each case, the defending forces gave way before substantially outnumbered attackers, making the outcomes all the more ignominious.

Israeli Sadists Mock Dying Boy

Ahmad Manasra, 13 years old, was shot and injured by a settler this Monday in occupied East Jerusalem, along with his cousin Hasan, 15 years, who died of his wounds. The settler alleged that the boys charged at him with a knife although there is no credible corroboration of this allegation. 15 year-old Hassan died of his wounds. The video shows Ahmad, struggling for breath and crying, while an Israeli settler films him and shouts profanities at him and the boy stays on the ground without receiving any medical help. In the past two weeks, several Palestinian civilians were killed and injured from fires shot by armed Israeli settlers and soldiers who allege similar charges that have turned out to be falsehoods.

Hamas Leader in Gaza Declares Intifada as Israeli Troops Kill Palestinians

The leader of Hamas in Gaza has labeled the ongoing violence in Jerusalem and the West Bank an intifada, as six Palestinians were shot and killed Friday while protesting at the border fence.

In a sermon for Friday prayers at a mosque in Gaza City, Ismail Haniyeh said:

"We are calling for the strengthening and increasing of the intifada. It is the only path that will lead to liberation. Gaza will fulfil its role in the Jerusalem intifada and it is more than ready for confrontation."

Webmaster's Commentary:

A short memo to Imam Haniyeh; sir, have you lost your reality license, or are you an Israeli shill, to be making this kind of comment?!?

All you are doing is legitimizing Israel's desire for more serial genocide against your own people. Why in the name of heaven did you make those incendiary remarks?!?

And Gaza is FAR from "...ready for confrontation." It doesn't have the military might, the level of agreement about tactics, and troop strength against the IDF to accomplish anything but creating even more misery for the Palestinian people.

What Palestine needs right now is.... another Gandhi.

Please remember, Imam; Gandhi got the British out of India with non-violence.

EU tells Russia to 'cease' strikes on Syria rebels

The EU has said Russia “must cease” strikes on “moderate” Syria rebels and that its ally, Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad, must, sooner or later, go.
The joint statement was adopted by foreign ministers in Luxembourg on Monday (12 October).

“The recent Russian military attacks that go beyond Dae'sh [another name for Islamic State] and other UN-designated terrorist groups, as well as on the moderate opposition, are of deep concern, and must cease immediately”, it says.

Webmaster's Commentary:

OR... WHAT, EU?!?

Sic NATO forces against Russia?!?

NATO doesn't have the equipment to begin to match what the Russians have, or a moral reason to go after them.

I would like to politely remind the EU that Russia came to Syria's aid at the behest of the Syrian government; Syria has not asked the EU or NATO for their help, but apparently, the EU is all in a lather about "joining the party".

But please take a look, very carefully, at your actual options, which have become very, very limited in Syria over the last couple of weeks.

Russia is doing the job; ridding Syria of terrorists; ALL terrorists, including the mercs funded and trained by the US, which has the US government in a real snit.

A military incursion by either NATO or US military against Russian forces in Syria is very, very dicey, with no real upside here, and the potential for starting a very real world war.

So EU, please cool your collective jets, and do some critical thinking here.

You know you need Russia as a strategic trading partner, and for gas.

And all the bellicose hooting and hollering at Russia, in brilliantly and effectively doing what it was asked to do by the Syrian government, is not going to change that reality for Europe.

Putin says U.S. should have given $500M to Russia instead of Syria rebels

Putin made the remarks in a television interview, during which he also said Moscow's airstrikes are intended to back up Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime.

"Our task is to stabilize the legitimate government and to create conditions for a political compromise, by military means, of course," Putin said. "The units of international terrorists and their ilk have no desire to negotiate with the Syrian government, who is almost sieged in its own capital."

Last week, the Pentagon announced it would suspend a program to train Syrian rebels to fight terrorism that cost taxpayers $500 million. Monday, Putin said pulling the plug was the wrong decision.

"It would have been better to give us $500 million," Putin said. "At least we would have used it more effectively from the point of view of fighting international terrorism."

Webmaster's Commentary:

You have to appreciate Putin's sense of humour, upon him saying this; and unfortunately, he is painfully correct in his assessment.

The American people have been thoroughly duped on what has been going on with Isis and Al-Qaeda; they have simply been pawns, used by the US government and military, with which to browbeat the American people into reluctant acceptance of more military incursions in the Middle East, as Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan are in full, total meltdown, courtesy of "alleged" US foreign policy.

Putin saw through the charade, and picked his opportunity very carefully; there will be no Russian ground troops in Syria, but his air campaign has done more to get rid of hired mercs and rebels than the US military has been able to do in quite some time.

The US government is still trying to figure out a way to make Putin's actions in Syria a reason for a war against Russia; but the American people now see through the charade as well, and are very, very angry with both parties for this madness.

Evidence of Covert US Forces in Southern Syria

Drone downed by Syria army over Daraa countryside...
The various munition experts on Twitter agree that this is debris of an Aerovironment Switchblade (Datasheet-pdf) loitering munition “for use against beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) targets”. The switchblade has the size of a remote piloted hobby plane but features a visual and infrared camera and an explosive charge. It can be “suicided” on a target. According to the datasheet the battery powered killer drone has a “10 km radius of operation”. Izraa, where the debris was found, lies (map) at the crossing of the M5 highway from Amman in Jordan north to Damascus and road 109 which runs west to east through south Syria. Izraa is about 40 km north of the Syrian Jordan border and 40 km east of the Golan demarcation line. Anyone who used this armed drone must have been on Syrian ground. The U.S. Army and the U.S. Marine Corp are the only known users.

Army Secretary Considers Drafting Women For Military Service

If the U.S. military prioritizes "true and pure equality," women might eventually have to register for the draft.

So said Army Secretary John McHugh at the Association of the United States Army’s annual meeting in Washington on Monday, reports Military.com. McHugh added that the issue -- if and when it arises -- should be determined by Congress, not the Department of Defense.

"If your objective is true and pure equality, then you have to look at all aspects and at some point Selective Service will have to be one of those things considered very carefully," said McHugh, according to The Washington Examiner.

McHugh added he expects the issue would prompt much "emotional discussion and debate."

Women are not currently required to register for the draft, although a New Jersey woman earlier this year sued the U.S. Selective Service System in an attempt to change that policy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We have told our readers for quite some time that the drafting of women was definitely in the works in Congress.

As reported at http://rangel.house.gov/ on 15 February, 2013:

Congressman Charles B. Rangel introduced legislation on Friday that would reintroduce the draft and would require all women to register for the Selective Service. These two bills aim to challenge the decisions that are made to send our troops into harm's way. Ten years ago on February 15, 2003, fifteen million people across 800 cities protested the invasion of Iraq, making it the largest antiwar rally in history. "Now that women can serve in combat they should register for the Selective Service alongside their male counterparts," said Rangel. "Reinstating the draft and requiring women to register for the Selective Service would compel the American public to have a stake in the wars we fight as a nation. We must question why and how we go to war, and who decides to send our men and women into harm's way." The National Universal Service Act (H.R 747), also known as the "draft" bill, would require 30 million people in the United States between the ages of 18 and 25 to perform two years of national service in either the armed services or in civilian life. It would build upon the community service infrastructure already in place such as the Peace Corps and AmeriCorps, as well as local initiatives such as NYC Serve. The National Universal Service Act was first introduced in 2003 at the height of protest against going to war with Iraq, and was reintroduced in 2006, 2007, 2010, and 2011. Rangel's All American Selective Service Act (H.R. 748) would require women to enroll in the Selective Service System, which would double the number of registrants. The current law requires only men ages 18 to 25 to register, and there are approximately 13.5 million in the registry.

But Rangel is disingenuous in the extreme when he makes the statement: "Reinstating the draft and requiring women to register for the Selective Service would compel the American public to have a stake in the wars we fight as a nation. We must question why and how we go to war, and who decides to send our men and women into harm's way."

People never have a choice about the wars this country's military fights; it is Congress which has the power to declare war, or - as has happened in Iraq - approve the Authorization for Use of Military Force. And the wars we have been fighting, in both Iraq and Afghanistan, were based on a pack of lies, ultimately, for private corporate gain.

The fact that this bill is still floating in the House Armed Services Committee, and hasn't been killed, but is still awaiting approval, demonstrates to me that the US government has many more wars in their sites.

Former CIA Detainees Are Suing The Psychologists Who Developed The Torture Program

-- Three former CIA detainees are suing over being tortured at the agency's infamous "black sites," the first suit to seek accountability in a U.S. court for the CIA's tactics since the Senate Intelligence Committee released the executive summary of its groundbreaking torture report. But the ex-detainees aren't suing the CIA.

They’re suing the pair that sold the spies the program.

James Mitchell and John “Bruce” Jessen are former CIA-contract psychologists who raked in more than $80 million developing and running the torture program on the agency's behalf. The suit accuses the duo of war crimes, including commissioning torture, human experimentation and supporting cruel and inhumane treatment.

Mitchell and Jessen, who previously served as psychologists at the U.S. Air Force’s Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape school, devised several SERE methods into an interrogation program following the 9/11 attacks.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Torture NEVER produces actionable intelligence, and the use or subcontracting of it by the United States government makes a complete mockery of every value we tell the world we hold dear; human rights, democracy, and the true rule of law.

And by using torture, the US government makes it perfectly acceptible for leaders of those countries which don't like us very much to use torture on our American and civilian military.

The Gov’t Plot to Tax & Abolish Your Cash

We’ve had two epic market collapses in the last 15 years. In response, the Fed desperately tried to prop up the markets by severely cutting interest rates. Cutting rates to zero badly devalued the U.S. currency, sent us spiraling into record debt, and killed savers by lowering the savings rate to zero. But with the global economy still on terribly shaky ground and interest rates already at zero, do the gov’t & banks have any ammo left? Shockingly, yes.

Central banks already have plans to impose negative interest rates – in other words, you get taxed on your savings! And in order to prevent you and me from storing our money in cash and avoiding the savings tax, the gov’t & banks advance toward the real end game: abolish cash altogether and force us all into the digital world controlled by the gov’t & banks.

Hillary: what she’ll face in the dem debate

“Any politician can skate around tough questions. It’s a primary skill. The usual method is turning a specific question into a general answer. A non-sequitur. But these days, there is another strategy. You could call it the ‘no-catastrophe’ approach. The politician, by word or gesture, implies: ‘If I had done something wrong, there would have been a calamity, but as you can see, there wasn’t; therefore, let’s move along to another topic.’ Or to put it another way: ‘I’m smart, you’re stupid, I have a meeting, goodbye.’” (The Underground, Jon Rappoport)

In the dem debate, Hillary will face a few tough questions. Translation: It will seem as if she’s being attacked, just to give the impression that things are on the up and up; she’ll skate; she’ll change the subject to “more important matters our great nation must face in the coming months and years.”

Graphic Video Shows College Student Who Died In Custody Was Tased In Restraint Chair

As part of an ongoing investigation into the death of 21-year-old Matthew Ajibade while in custody at the Chatham County Jail in Georgia, a graphic video was shown in court on Friday, which NBC News has obtained, of police officers using a stun gun on Ajibade in the groin while he is restrained to a chair.

Ajibade was arrested on a domestic violence charge on Jan. 1, 2015, after allegedly hitting his girlfriend and breaking a deputy's nose during a bipolar episode, as described by his family. Police handcuffed him to the chair and placed him in isolation where he was later found unresponsive.

When Ajibade's body was found on January 2, he had a spit mask on his face and abrasions, scrapes and bumps on his upper body and head, according to the coroner.

The cause of death was determined to be "blunt force trauma." On June 4, the coroner ruled the death a homicide. Three jail workers were charged with involuntary manslaughter in his death while nine deputies were fired.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Again, never, EVER call the police when things go out of control; in this case, were I the girlfriend, I would have run like hell, were I able, or called someone to get me out of there, and quickly, before more abuse could happen.

And if the girlfriend knew the guy was bi-polar, and potentially on meds which made him prone to violence, why did she not have a plan to de-escalate the situation, or get out of Dodge before things went completely haywire?

By this point, it is a known fact that psychiatric medications have a nasty, and well-documented, tendency to create homicidal or suicidal thoughts in the people taking them.

And the police didn't have intelligence to ask ANY of the family, or his girlfriend, if he was on meds for his bi-polar condition, or just coming off the meds for this condition?!?

The killing of this young man by police is both a tragedy, and a crime, and those responsible should be punished to the full letter of the law for what they did.

Israel, Palestinian Territories Suffering Worst Period Of Unrest In Years

Palestinian men armed with knives and a gun killed at least three people and wounded several others in a string of attacks in Jerusalem and near Tel Aviv on Tuesday, police said, on a "Day of Rage" declared by Palestinian groups.

With the worst unrest in years in Israel and the Palestinian territories showing no signs of abating, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called a security cabinet meeting for 3 p.m. to discuss what police said would be new operational plans.

Officials said Israel's public security minister was considering whether to seal off Palestinian neighborhoods in East Jerusalem, home of many of the assailants of the past two weeks, from the rest of the city.

Unlike their brethren in the occupied West Bank, Palestinians in East Jerusalem can travel in Israel without restrictions. Israel annexed East Jerusalem after a 1967 war in a move that is not recognized internationally.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Netanyahu wants the "appearance" of a 3rd intifada as the excuse for more serial genocide against Palestinians, probably with most of the crackdowns and violence to be done in East Jerusalem at this point.

‘Mommy, Am I Going to Die?': Ohio 4-year-old pleads after cop shoots her and walks away

wly-released audio illustrates a Columbus, Ohio family’s confusion and terror after a local police officer accidentally shot a then-4-year-old girl while being asked to help the girl’s mother.

Note: the video below plays automatically.

The audio, aired on Inside Edition, depicts the June 19 incident involving the officer to a plea for help from Brandie Kelly.

Kelly had flagged the officer down after her sister, Andrea Ellis, cut herself badly on a piece of glass. Kelly can be heard telling the officer, “Sir, can you get me a paramedic? I need a paramedic here” while on the phone with emergency dispatchers.

Police said at the time of the incident that Ellis’ dog charged at the officer, forcing him to fire at it. But instead of hitting the dog, the officer hit the girl, Ava Ellis, in the leg, causing a bone to shatter.

“She asked me several times, ‘Mommy, am I gonna die?'” Andrea Ellis said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

After the U.S. provided “insurgents” in Syria with tons for ammunition and weapons, the Russian embassy in Damascus was struck by two rockets.

AFP reports claim the rockets were fired by “Islamist rebels” from the eastern edge of the capital.

Around 300 people were outside the embassy demonstrating in support of Russia’s effort to bolster the al-Assad government and target jihadi and other U.S. and Saudi proxies.

No deaths or injuries were reported.

The attack followed a call by al-Nusra to kill Russians. The jihadi terrorist organization collaborates with and receives arms from U.S. “vetted” groups in Syria.

“If the Russian army kills the people of Syria, then kill their people. And if they kill our soldiers, then kill their soldiers. An eye for an eye,” declared Abu Mohamed al-Jolani, the head of al-Nusra in Syria.

Jolani called on the “heroic Mujahideen” in the Caucuses to attack Russians.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Russia now has the perfect justification for "neutralizing" the alleged "Syrian moderate rebels", funded and armed by the US.

Why does it appear that one of the strongest criteria sought after, as a prerequisite for working for this administration, is the almost pathological capability to never be able to think a scenario through to its logical conclusion?!?!?

In the immortal words of the American comedian Ron White, "You can't fix stupid"; and IF this bombing was covertly green-lit by the US through its Al-Nusra allies in Syria, it was, beyond a doubt, the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing the US government could have done at this point in this conflict.

The swans that say we're in for a freezing winter: Arrival of Russian Bewicks from Siberia is earliest for 50 years and could herald harsh weather

Swooping in with the brisk Arctic winds, the Bewick’s swan traditionally heralds the beginning of winter.

And now the Russian bird has made its earliest-ever arrival in Britain – bearing an icy omen for a long, cold winter ahead.

Migrating 2,500 miles from the depths of Siberia, the first swan touched down on Sunday at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust reserve at Slimbridge, Gloucestershire.

But while the magnificent bird was probably relieved to reach the warmer climes of the UK, its arrival – the earliest in 50 years – may well usher in a particularly harsh and unforgiving winter.

It’s difficult enough raising a child in a world ravaged by war, disease, poverty and hate, but when you add the police state into the mix—with its battlefield mindset, weaponry, rigidity, surveillance, fascism, indoctrination, violence, etc.—it becomes near impossible to guard against the toxic stress of police shootings, SWAT team raids, students being tasered and shackled, lockdown drills, and a growing unease that some of the monsters of our age come dressed in government uniforms.

What is particularly chilling is how effective these lessons in compliance are in indoctrinating young people to accept their role in the police state, either as criminals or prison guards. If these exercises are intended to instill fear and compliance into young people, they’re working.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As I have been advocating for a long time, people with skills and kids, please get out of this country as quickly as you can; there may be a time left when your ability to exit this police state nation, into which Amerika has devolved, will no longer exist.

If you are unable to do this, find the most remote area you can, move there, and become as self-sufficient as you can be. Learn to do light farming, canning, raising chickens for eggs, can do a lot for both you and your children. Home school your child; teach them logic, history, and critical thinking.

Whether your child decides to stay in such an environment when they get older is not certain; but the gifts of a true education, being one with nature; and understanding that taking care of yourself takes work, patience, and effort, are priceless.

Following the recent Oregon school shooting, many politicians rushed to the microphones to call for new gun control laws. President Obama even called on gun control supporters to “politicize” the shooting, while some members of Congress worked to establish a special commission on gun violence.
The reaction to the shooting stands in stark contrast to the reaction to the US military’s bombing of an Afghanistan hospital run by the international humanitarian (and Nobel Peace Prize winning) group Doctors Without Borders.

Our Nobel Peace Prize winning president did apologize to his fellow Nobel laureate for the bombing. However, President Obama has not “politicized” this tragedy by using it to justify ending military involvement in Afghanistan. No one in Congress is pushing for a special commission to examine the human costs of US militarism, and the mainstream media has largely ignored Doctors Without Borders’ accusation that the bombing constitutes a war crime.

Russian missile-maker contradicts Dutch MH17 crash report

A statement from the Almaz-Antey arms-maker said the Dutch draft found that the plane, a Boeing 777 belonging to Malaysia Airlines, was shot down by a Buk missile warhead that uses submunitions shaped like a capital letter I.

However, Almaz-Antey says it conducted two experiments -- in one of which a Buk missile was detonated near the nose of an airplane similar to a 777 -- that contradict that conclusion.

The experimental aircraft's remains showed a much different submunitions damage pattern than seen on the remnants of MH17, the company said in a statement.

Haaretz Goes to Bat for Trump: Mideast Would Be Safer Without US Intrusion

What! Huh! Well shut my mouth!Sheer Genius! Some folks are coming to their senses!

The Israeli news website has come out in support of Donald Trump’s recent claim that the Middle East would be a lot more stable, had Iraq's and Libya's leaders remained in power and President Assad was stronger.

Over a week ago, the US Republican presidential front-runner said in an interview with NBC’s Chuck Todd that the Middle East would be more stable if Muammar Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein were still in power in Libya and Iraq, saying it's "not even a contest."

Trump: Mid East Could Be Safer With Hussein, Gaddafi, Stronger Assad
"You can make the case, if you look at Libya, look at what we did there, it's a mess," said Trump.

Putin considers US actions in Syria targeting transformer and power plant strange

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed bewilderment on Tuesday over the targets of US airstrikes in Syria. "On Sunday, the American aviation bombed out an electrical power plant and a transformer in Aleppo. Why have they done this? Whom have they punished there? What’s the point? Nobody knows," the president said at a meeting with the Russian government members.

Russian Finance Ministry readies plan of action for Ukraine’s default

"Currently, we’re preparing a particular plan of action for Ukraine’s default. In fact, in late December if Ukraine does not pay off (its debt) this will be viewed as default, as non-payment of a state to another state, despite the International Monetary Fund’s program," Siluanov said, adding that cabinet of ministers will present the plan to President’s consideration... Siluanov said in case Kiev refuses to pay off its debt Moscow will turn to international arbitration courts and directly to the International Monetary Fund. The Minister also said that according to the fund’s representatives, amendments to the order of providing aid are being prepared. "They explain it by general amendments to the approach being prepared so that all obligations to sovereign countries and to official creditors within /IMF/ program will not be included in the IMF financial aid. It’s clear that this is done in the current situation in order to freeze payments to the Russian Federation," Siluanov said.

Anatomy Teacher Strips Down To Muscluar Clothes To Teach Her Students Lesson

Students weren’t sure what to expect when their teacher stood in front of the classroom and started to undress. Debby Heerkens, a biology teacher at Groene Hart Rijnwoude school, in the small town of Hazerswoude Dorp Netherlands, wanted to try a creative approach to teach a lesson about the human body. “At first they were a little bit in shock because they thought ‘the teacher is taking off her clothes,’ until, they saw what is underneath,” Heerkens told CNN. Heerkens stripped down to reveal a full bodysuit that mapped out the human body in sharp and graphic detail. She had on several layers, one that showed the skeletal bone structure and another with internal organs. The point was to help students visualize the human body, highlight the essential organs and show how they function.

Hillary’s Email Server Was a Hack Risk

Hillary Clinton’s personal email server was connected to the Internet in a way that made it vulnerable to hacking risks, according to an AP investigation. The report found that Clinton’s server, which she used to handle both personal and State Department email while she was Secretary of State, "appeared to allow users to connect openly over the Internet to control it remotely" and did not use additional protective measures, the AP reported. On top of that, two other devices run on Clinton’s home network in Chappaqua, N.Y., were also accessible from the Internet.

A ‘Cancer’ on the Clinton Candidacy

Clinton’s frustration with her own campaign staff was striking. So was her refusal for much of the year to characterize the escalating email controversy as anything other than a failure of communications, messaging or the vast right-wing-and-media conspiracy. Both complaints were consistent with what other campaign advisers told us in dozens of interviews for this story—except some of them laid equal blame on the candidate herself.

Indeed, from the minute news of Clinton’s secret personal email server broke this past March, she had reacted by lashing out at her enemies—and repeatedly demanding of her inner circle, “How do we get past this?” Neither the campaign nor the candidate have definitively answered that question, and the months of indecision, uncertainty and mounting legal threat have left Clinton, for the second time in her two presidential campaigns, a deeply vulnerable front-runner.

The Banking System Has Gone Rogue

The next wave of the greatest financial crisis may soon be upon us.

When the music stops, and loans everywhere on cheap and easy credit are called, far too many nations, businesses and individuals will be suddenly and violently unable to repay their debts — particularly in the developing world.

The results are likely to be catastrophic, and the weight of the bad debts may well be enough take down the rest of the world with it. This is no small problem, and it is not clear if there is a solution.

London Guardian writer Will Hutton issues a stark warning that “the world economic order is collapsing and this time there seems no way out.”

Mock gallows were displayed during a PEGIDA protest in Dresden on Monday, October 12th, 2015. The gallows had two nooses, one reserved for Angela Merkel and another for her deputy Sigmar Gabriel.

The mock gallows sparked outrage in the German media and prosecutors have already launched an investigation. The charge is for suspicion of public incitement to commit criminal acts and disturbing the peace, which could result in up to five years in jail for those found guilty, which is a slightly harsher sentence than one could receive for presenting evidence to disprove the ridiculous 6 million number.

Spengler predicts a Cruz-Rubio Ticket

The four anti-Establishment candidates together command 58% of Republican preferences, according to the CBS poll. But it is unlikely that the party ultimately will nominate any of them. They simply are too volatile, too inexperienced and too labile to carry a presidential campaign. If that assumption is correct (and it is a big assumption), then that 58% will have to go somewhere else.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ted Cruz was born in Canada of an American mother and Cuban father. That makes him an American citizen by birth, but not "natural born". which requires being born within the sovereign territory of the United States, either a state or possession. Cruz's supporters are trying to make the case that being born of an American mother makes Cruz "natural born" no matter where he was born, but that argument falls to a reducto ad absurdum argument. Let us say an American ex-pat living in China has a child, who is thus an American citizen, but is raised to be loyal to China, to see the world from the Chinese geopolitical perspective. Should that child, on relocating to the United States, be eligible to run for President? This was exactly what the framers of the Constitution wanted to avoid, after seeing Europe suffer under centuries of rulers who did not speak the language of the land they ruled. What if instead of Canada, Ted Cruz was born in Cuba; his father's homeland. Do we want a President pre-disposed to Cuba's interests running the US? After all, we have enough headaches with our current crop of congresscritters predisposed to Israel's interests!

Congress Asking Why Russian Syria Campaign Caught US Spy Agencies by Surprise

Senior US lawmakers have begun probing possible intelligence lapses over Moscow’s intervention in Syria, concerned that American spy agencies were slow to grasp the scope and intention of Russia’s dramatic military offensive there, US congressional sources and other officials said. War in Syria Changes Regional Gas Balance

First of all, Azerbaijan, through its Azerbaijan Methanol Company, signed a 5 year contract to secure gas imports from Gazprom for around 2 bcm annually. Although imports were being conducted between 2009-2013 never exceeded 1 bcm per year. In fact, Baku seemed hesitant in enlarging this cooperation. Nevertheless it seems that Azerbaijan is getting closer to Moscow in gas terms, since the impeding opening up of the Iranian market after the lifting of international sanctions will witness a wider alliance between two gas giants, Russia and Iran, who together control around 45% of the global natural gas reserves and 25% of yearly global production. Baku is also continuously pressurized by its hostile relations with Armenia, whilst the local administration over the past 12 month is gradually cracking down opposition groups or liberal teams of people that are linked with NGO's financed mainly by US and EU political and business circles.

According to him, the Russian government rejects the proposal on the basis of some incomprehensible Western values. In May of this year, the State Duma (the Russian Parliament) rejected a similar bill.

Experts say MH17 might have been downed by Ukraine

"The 9M38, 9M38M, 9M38M1 missiles are former modifications of the Buk system missiles, but they all have the same warhead. They are not in service with the Russian Armed Forces, but Ukraine has them. And we have been for the past 15 years using missiles of another type — 9M317. This Buk does not belong to the militias [of the self-proclaimed Donetsk republic — DPR], the more so it had not been transferred to the militias by Russia, we simply have no such modifications of Buk missiles. Based on the modification and type of the used missile, as well as its location, this Buk belongs to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. By the way, Ukraine had three military districts — the Carpathian, Odessa and Kiev, and these three districts had more than five Buk anti-aircraft missile brigades of various modifications - Buk, Buk-M, Buk-M1, which means that there were more than 100 missile vehicles there".

Goldman Sachs: The Third Wave of the Financial Crisis Is Upon Us

These days it seems like there is a never-ending stream of dire predictions for the United States and the global economy. Many of them have merit of course, since the fundamentals of our economy are being held together by little more than duct tape and string. However, any prediction that suggests that the system is going to come crashing down at a moments notice, is hard take seriously.

It’s certainly a possibility, but it’s not the most plausible end to our way of life. In reality, our society enduring a long-term collapse that may take decades to fully develop. There will be moments of rapid decline, much like the financial collapse of 2008, but overall we seem to be falling on a long trajectory.

Goldman Sachs admitted as much this week when their top analysts claimed that the third wave of the financial collapse of 2008, is rapidly approaching.

New California Bill Will Allow Illegal Aliens to Vote

On the surface, California’s New Motor Voter Act doesn’t sound too controversial. It was written in response to California’s low voter turnout rates, and was recently approved by Governor Jerry Brown over the weekend. Essentially, the law automatically enrolls everyone as a registered voter when they get their driver’s license, unless they decide to opt out of the system. However, you can’t expect any bill to pass in this country unless it has an ulterior agenda, and the New Motor Voter Act is no different.

Russia urges US to abandon ‘megaphone diplomacy’ in disarmament issues

Moscow urges the US to abandon its "megaphone diplomacy" and start solving all the issues linked to the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) implementation through a substantive dialogue. "If we want a business-like conversation for solving all the existing problems in regard to this document between the United States and the Russian Federation, let’s speak about this closely to the topic using the mechanisms we have for this and let’s stop populism and megaphone diplomacy," said Belousov, a representative of Russia’s Foreign Ministry department for non-proliferation and arms control issues. The diplomat rejected Washington’s accusations that Russia is allegedly violating the INF treaty. He retaliated the accusations, saying Moscow is concerned about the unmanned fighting vehicles, target-missiles and MK 41 vertical launching systems that are banned under the treaty.

Top News Story on MH17 Crash Report a Fresh Attempt to Blame Russia

Right in the midst of the march toward war in the Middle East between the West and Russia, a Dutch report has been released on the crash of flight MH17 which has concluded the commercial flight was brought down by a missile that exploded outside the plane’s cockpit.

The media is trying to use the report to blame Russia for the crash again this morning as if this is “breaking news”.

The report itself — despite headlines like NBC’s “Malaysia Airlines MH17 Was Shot Down by BUK ‘Warhead': Investigators” or New York Daily News’ “MH17 plane was downed by Russian-made missile, instantly killing many of 298 on board: report” — does not even conclusively say it was a Russian Buk warhead that brought the plane down.

Egotism Gone Mad; Rand Paul First Candidate Ever To "Live-Stream An Entire Day"

After Rand Paul got into the Senate, he rapidly tried to appeal to mainstream GOPers and abandoned his father's libertarian base, the same people who helped him get elected. How has that worked out for him so far?
Rand's fund raising is very weak. His campaign Raised Only $2.5 Million Last Quarter. Ron Paul raised nearly four times that amount during the same quarter in his last presidential campaign. Socialist Bernie Sander raised 10 times this amount, without kissing up to the establishment.

"May you be inscribed in the Book of Life" Tweets Bibi, as he hugs the wailing wall

Meanwhile, the Catholic Bishops participating in a Middle East assembly 5 years ago wrote: "Recourse to theological and biblical positions which use the Word of God to wrongly justify injustices is not acceptable... We have evaluated the social situation and the public security in all our countries in the Middle East. We have taken account of the impact of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on the whole region, especially on the Palestinians who are suffering the consequences of the Israeli occupation: the lack of freedom of movement, the wall of separation and the military checkpoints, the political prisoners, the demolition of homes, the disturbance of socio-economic life and the thousands of refugees...
