Charles Koch Is Privately Committed To Getting Paul Ryan Nominated In Cleveland: Source

Charles Koch is confident House Speaker Paul Ryan could emerge from the Republican National Convention as the party’s nominee if Donald Trump comes up at least 100 delegates shy, he has told friends privately.

Koch believes Ryan would be a “shoo-in” at a contested convention, should the campaign get to that point.

Germans told 'stay away from windows' for Obama visit

When US President Barack Obama arrives in Hanover for a visit on Sunday April 24th, residents have been told very clearly what is expected of them: stay away from windows and do not wave.

Local police issued advisory flyers out of security concerns for some 1,800 residents who live near the Congress Centrum and zoo area, where Obama will be meeting Chancellor Angela Merkel for the Hanover Messe, a major global trade fair for industrial technology.

Police strongly advised residents to abide by the precautions so as not to alarm officers, which could result in an inspection of their home.

Fed Sees Labor Market Worst Since 2009

Cast your mind back to Friday - when payrolls confirmed everything for everyone and enabled more crowing from an establishment clinging to smoke and mirrors. It appears The Fed disagrees with the 'awesome' jobs market that BLS proposes as today's Labor Market Conditions Index continues to push to its weakest since 2009, drastically divergent from the seemingly all-impotrant non-farm payrolls data.

The 19-factor labor market conditions index developed by The Fed is not singing from the same Koombaya "everything is awesome" hymn-sheet that The White House would prefer...

One Junk Bond Analyst's Catastrophic Forecast For What Is Coming

While not as quixotic as Morgan Stanley's Adam Parker piece on market-chasing cockroaches, BofA high yield analyst Michael Contopoulos has moved beyond merely bearish and is now outright catastrophic . That may be a little far fetched, but in his latest note - while he doesn't call rally chasers "cockroaches" (yet), he seems at a loss to explain the ongoing junk bond rally. His reasoning: fundamentals just keep getting worse by the day, while price action has completely disconnected from reality, and virtually nobody expects what is about to unfold in the junk bond space.

FBI Says a Mysterious Hacking Group Has Had Access to US Govt Files for Years

The feds warned that “a group of malicious cyber actors,” whom security experts believe to be the government-sponsored hacking group known as APT6, “have compromised and stolen sensitive information from various government and commercial networks” since at least 2011, according to an FBI alert obtained by Motherboard.

The alert, which is also available online, shows that foreign government hackers are still successfully hacking and stealing data from US government’s servers, their activities going unnoticed for years.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The reason the hackers go unnoticed is that the NSA is spending all of its time spying on law-abiding Americans, stealing their business secrets, and whacking off to copied naked pictures of their wives, daughters, and sons!

Are YOUR iPhone photos and contacts at risk? Video reveals a 3D Touch bug that uses Siri to bypass the lock screen

You may think your contacts and photos are safely locked away on your iPhone.

But a new bug has been discovered that seemingly lets people unlock iPhone 6S and 6S Plus models without inputting a password or using the Touch ID fingerprint scanner.

Bypassing the security measures is possible because the bug takes advantage of unauthenticated access to Siri, which can then be used to tap into a phone owner's contacts.

North Korea, Under Siege by ‘Hostile Forces,’ Threatens Nuke Strike on US

In a statement Monday by North Korea’s official KCNA news agency, a spokesman for the country’s National Defense Commission (NDC) said the recent round of UN sanctions imposed on Pyongyang over its nuclear weapons program was "anachronistic and suicidal." The spokesman went on to say that the sanctions could trigger a nuclear strike against the US mainland, likening recent Western actions against North Korea as akin to the siege against Leningrad in World War II and Cuba during the Cold War.

US Navy’s F-35 Conducts First 1,000-Pound Bomb Test

Surpassing $1 trillion, the F-35 program is the most expensive weapon program in history. Despite that high price tag, the aircraft has faced a number of problems. Major cyberattack vulnerabilities, technical issues with the jet’s propulsion system, and software problems related to the state-of-the-art helmets have all stalled the aircraft’s production.

Earlier tests also showed that the F-35 failed in mock dogfights against the aging F-16, the very jet the F-35 is meant to replace.

Writing for War on the Rocks last month, US Col. Mike Pietrucha expressed his doubts that the F-35 would ever stand up against Russian and Chinese defenses.

Veterans Group’s USS Liberty Billboard on I-95 in Connecticut Causes Jewish Outrage

A new billboard about Israel’s attack on the USS Liberty is causing some serious whining amongst jewish groups. The billboard is along traffic-filled I-95 in Connecticut, which is actually named the Jewish War Veterans Memorial Highway. The billboard asks for help for USS Liberty veterans attacked by Israel.

The story is still that Israel did not know the Liberty was a US ship when they were slaughtering the sailors, no matter how much evidence has come out to the contrary. So even though the billboard is stating something that is completely factual, jews are throwing a hissy-fit regarding “anti-Semitism” and “conspiracy theories”.

The Panama Papers: Is their release a coup attempt between Soros and Rothschild?

Yet perhaps what is most intriguing in all of this is who is behind this massive whistle blowing, and what they have to gain by taking on some of the most powerful elites that run the world. It starts when you look at the 'innocuous' logo that resides on the webpage of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ).

Open Society Foundations is a George Soros managed foundation that is used for all sorts of sovereign manipulations such as acting as controlling media, and impacting political elections. And USAID is long believed to be a front for the Central Intelligence Agency, and the many NGO's they control.

So one of the most important questions behind the revealing of information on the tax evasion habits of the powerful elites is why members of the oligarchy would rat out their own peers, and in the end, what is the ultimate goal of such a scandal?

Webmaster's Commentary:

The fact that Soros funds the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists may explain why none of the 441 Americans indicated in the documents have yet to be publicly named.

Report: VA unfairly denied services to 125K post-9/11 veterans

The Department of Veterans Affairs is wrongfully denying services to roughly 125,000 post-9/11 veterans with other than honorable discharges, according to a joint study released Wednesday by two veterans advocacy groups and Harvard Law School.

Some veterans are missing out on benefits such as healthcare, housing help for the homeless and disability services, in part, because the VA’s own rules are in contravention of the original GI Bill of Rights passed by Congress in 1944, according to the study. That represents roughly 6.5 percent of post-9/11 veterans, including more than 33,000 who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“Veterans who have served since 9/11 are being excluded from the VA at a higher rate than any other generation of veterans,” said Dana Montalto, the study’s author and a Liman Fellow with the Harvard Law School’s Veterans Legal Clinic. “They’re being denied very basic services.”

Here's What Happens When a U.S. Senator Calls for Israel to Be Held Accountable for Atrocities

Leahy's letter is notable for placing Israeli violations alongside Egyptian atrocities—including the 2013 Rab'aa Square massacre—a rare move in a U.S. political climate where Israel is often deemed above reproach. The United States hands $3.1 billion in military aid to Israel every year, compared to roughly 1.5 billion to Egypt, which funds the country's brutally repressive military junta according to the guidelines of the Camp David Accords. Together, these two countries accounted for more than 75 percent of global U.S. military assistance in 2014.

The woman told Infowars’ Rob Dew that she recently received a phone call from her friend who explained to her that a “sample ballot” was posted in a local publication for viewing and that she saw something on the ballot that she was very concerned about.

According to the woman, the ballot had an additional checkbox on it titled “Uninstructed Delegation,” which the woman also found on other ballots in the vicinity.

After asking a supervisor about the checkbox, the woman found out that if someone were to check the box they are handing over their voting authority to the party.

On March 28, Sibley appealed to U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John G. Roberts for a stay of the restraining order put in place by DC Judge Richard Roberts.

On March 16, Richard Roberts abruptly resigned his post after a lawsuit was filed accusing him of “sexual assault” many years before. His legal team stated that his resignation was the result of a “disability.”

The Supreme Court docketed the matter on Friday. Earlier that day, Sibley declared that he had set a “72-hour countdown clock” marking the time at which the remaining Verizon phone records from Palfrey’s now-defunct business will be released to the media automatically from the four servers where it is stored, without any further action on his part, should the clock not be reset at some point in between.

The Cloak and Dagger Inside the Kerry Briefcase

Secretary of State John Kerry stepped off a plane at Moscow’s Airport carrying a valise in his right hand. Arriving for negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the familiar tall statesman looked a bit out of character carrying such a large briefcase, but few took notice. On sitting down across a table from the Russian president though, it soon became clear at least one Russian was paying attention. The scene, with Putin seemingly poking fun at the American dignitary, it became the newsreel of the day. Speculation still reverberates on what was in that briefcase, but the real signs point to one big win for Putin, and a last ditch battle over Europe for the Americans.

Mossack Fonseca Has 441 U.S. Clients: Who Are They?

As the shock from the initial revelation of leaked Mossack Fonseca files fades away, one recurring question has emerged: why were there no American clients of the firm named (at least not yet)? After all, leaders in Iceland, Russia, Ukraine, Brazil, Australia and many other nations are already facing questions about their use of the Panamanian law firm, and yet nothing about the US?

One hint may have emerged when observing at the funding supporters of the project, among which we find George Soros' heavily financially connected Open Society:

Clearly, this would imply editorial intervention by the funding sources due to a potential "conflict of interest", although hopefully not as that would undermine the objective nature of this massive journalistic undertaking.

In a historic settlement, Native American tribes have been awarded nearly a billion dollars. The U.S. Department of Justice announced this week that a settlement was reached with 645 Native American Tribes for the sum of $940 million dollars.

When the federal government failed to meet its obligations, people on the tribal lands were decimated by suffering, according to tribal leaders.

Paul Ryan Talks Open Convention Probability – on Israel Trip

Paul Ryan — Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mitt Romney’s 2012 running mate, and the Republican Who Didn’t Run for the Presidency this time — broadly holds to the principle of not being too critical of the US government when traveling abroad. But his very decision to come to Israel on Sunday and Monday — on the first days, that is, of his first foreign trip since taking the Speaker’s job last October — is an implied rebuke to President Barack Obama, and an overt reassertion of American solidarity with Israel.

Some 600 Israeli companies and 850 Israeli shareholders are listed in the 11.5 million documents leaked from a Panamanian law firm detailing offshore dealings. The trove was published Sunday after a year-long investigation into the material. According to the probe by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) with the German daily Sueddeutsche Zeitung and other media, including Haaretz, the leaked data from Mossack Fonseca, from 1975 to the end of last year, provides what the ICIJ described as a “never-before-seen view inside the offshore world.”

The Broken BBC From Public Service to Corporate Power

Where, then, did the resources of public service broadcasting go, and what happened at the end of the 1990s? In 1997, the BBC invested heavily in the newly created News24 Channel. In No News Is Bad News: Radio, Television and the Public (2014) Michael Bromley notes the corporation “was heavily criticized for the development and subsequent cost of BBC News 24, which is available 24 hours a day,” and which diverted funds and resources away from other, established channels and programs.2 But the cost and burden to the rest of the network is not the only issue. The evidence increasingly suggests that this investment signaled the BBC’s metamorphosis from a rounded, albeit unaccountable, public service provider, to a full-blown corporate state broadcaster and propagandist.

Panama Papers: Obama, Clinton Pushed Trade Deal Amid Warnings It Would Make Money Laundering, Tax Evasion Worse

Years before more than a hundred media outlets around the world released stories Sunday exposing a massive network of global tax evasion detailed in the so-called Panama Papers, U.S. President Barack Obama and then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton pushed for a Bush administration-negotiated free trade agreement that watchdogs warned would only make the situation worse.

Hawaii considering decriminalizing all recreational drugs for personal use

It’s a bold move, the likes of which hasn’t been seen in recent United States history: The state of Hawaii is on the cusp of decriminalizing ALL recreational drugs. If the resolution passes, Hawaii would become the first state to investigate alternative solutions for treating drug addiction other than just locking people up.

American Democracy at Its Worst

In all its activities AIPAC functions as a “foreign agent” working for the interests of the government of another country. Due to the fact that Zionist Jewish billionaires, not Israeli government, are financing AIPAC, this lobby was able to escape the Foreign Agents Registration Act of 1938 and avoid registering as a foreign agent.

Hillary Clinton Says She Is Unaware Of Big Money That Oil And Gas Companies Have Given Her And Family Foundation

Hillary Clinton expressed surprise Wednesday when a voter at a town hall in Iowa demanded she stop taking money from the fossil fuel companies. “Well, I don't know that I ever have,” Clinton said. “I'm not exactly one of their favorites.”

The former secretary of state — who had been pressed on the same topic at an event this summer — made those comments despite her long history of accepting millions of dollars of campaign and philanthropic money from energy companies and lobbyists and in spite of her concurrent moves as a government official to help the fossil fuel industry. Indeed, while Clinton asserted this week in Iowa that she is “not in favor of drilling off our coasts,” as a senator, she broke with Democrats such as then-Sen. Barack Obama to vote to expand offshore drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.

Facebook bans users from promoting posts with the word ‘Scunthorpe’ in them

Facebook bans its users from promoting posts with the word Scunthorpe in it.

The company’s profanity algorithm appears to be banning all posts with the word in it from being promoted, because of the swear word buried in the middle of it. That has left residents of the Lincolnshire town unable to advertise their services on the site, and bands and other pages unable to post about visiting there.

How Süddeutsche Zeitung got the Panama leaks story

In an approach that echoed that of the whistleblower Edward Snowden, the source approached Süddeutsche Zeitung anonymously on the Internet with a vague, tantalizing promise of vast amounts of data.

The source insisted on using encrypted communications and that there be no meeting. The source’s life was in danger. “I want to make these crimes public,” the source said, when asked why they had come forward.

Over a period of months, the source provided 2.6 terabytes of data from Mossack Fonseca, a Panamanian law firm, providing a rare and extensive insight into the secretive world of offshore finance.

Süddeutsche Zeitung said it received 11.5 million documents dating back to the 1970s, made up of e-mails, PDF files, photographs and excerpts from an internal Mossack Fonseca database.

It was a trove that no newsroom on its own would be equipped to handle.

How Hillary Clinton Bought the Loyalty of 33 State Democratic Parties

Collusion between the Clinton campaign and the DNC allowed Hillary Clinton to buy the loyalty of 33 state Democratic parties last summer. Montana was one of those states. It sold itself for $64,100.

The Super Delegates now defying democracy with their insistent refusal to change their votes to Sanders in spite of a handful of overwhelming Clinton primary losses in their own states, were arguably part of that deal.

In August 2015, at the Democratic Party convention in Minneapolis, 33 democratic state parties made deals with the Hillary Clinton campaign and a joint fundraising entity called The Hillary Victory Fund. The deal allowed many of her core billionaire and inner circle individual donors to run the maximum amounts of money allowed through those state parties to the Hillary Victory Fund in New York and the DNC in Washington.

Follow the money: inside the world's tax havens

Do you celebrate Christmas? If you do (or even if you do not), did you buy any gifts on Amazon last December? If so, then your goods were quite likely to have been routed through a byzantine world hosted – only on paper, you understand – by the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, where Amazon has located its European headquarters, slashing its tax bills around the world. In 2011, Amazon revealed that the US Internal Revenue Service was chasing it for $1.5bn in back taxes. More recently, Amazon has said it will stop routing its UK sales through Luxembourg.

Perhaps you shun Amazon. You buy only local products: good for you. But did you search for any gifts online? Did a company called Google play any role in this? In 2011, Google shuffled four-fifths of its profits through a subsidiary in the tax haven of Bermuda, cutting its worldwide tax rate in half and its tax rate in some countries to nearly zero.

In February, activist Michael Best took a novel approach to filing a mass of Freedom of Information Act requests at once: he wrote a script to automatically ask for the files of just under 7,000 dead FBI officials.

The FBI has replied, and it is not happy. The agency has decided to not accept any of Best's related requests, and may have also blocked or otherwise filtered further emails sent to the agency's FOIA department by him. The episode shows that the way FOIAs are processed is very much an antiquated practice, and that perhaps US government agencies should think of new ways to handle requests.
