Bitcoin's nightmare scenario has come to pass

Over the last year and a half a number of prominent voices in the Bitcoin community have been warning that the system needed to make fundamental changes to its core software code to avoid being overwhelmed by the continued growth of Bitcoin transactions. There was strong disagreement within the community, however, about how to solve this problem, or if the problem would ever materialize.

This week the dire predictions came to pass, as the network reached its capacity, causing transactions around the world to be massively delayed, and in some cases to fail completely. The average time to confirm a transaction has ballooned from 10 minutes to 43 minutes. Users are left confused and shops that once accepted Bitcoin are dropping out.

UN rights boss warns against precedent in Apple vs. FBI case

The top U.N. human rights official warned on Friday that U.S. officials risked opening a "Pandora's Box" in the case against Apple Inc that could infringe the rights of millions worldwide and ease the way for authoritarian rulers and criminal hackers.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation obtained a court order last month requiring the company to write new software to disable passcode protection and allow access to an iPhone used by one of the shooters in December killings in San Bernardino, California.

Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, said in a statement: "A successful case against Apple in the U.S. will set a precedent that may make it impossible for Apple or any other major international IT company to safeguard their clients' privacy anywhere in the world."

Beyond Mainstream Medicine – Remembering Our Super Humanity With the Ice Man

By Jefferey Jaxen

The entire mainstream medical establishment has been built upon the supposition that something outside yourself is required for healing to occur. Such a system will tell you that there are no answers to be found within because you alone are somewhat helpless and powerless. According to mainstream medicine, only patented products and procedures that can be billed to your insurance company can heal … everything else is invalid, illegal, unscientific, or just plain quackery. Yet beyond those neatly cramped and confined limitations, better accommodations await those who posses the curiosity to venture into the depth of their own abilities waiting patiently to be activated just beneath the surface...

US Trade Gap Widens In January

US trade gap widens to $45.7 billion in January

The U.S. trade deficit rose in January as American exports fell for a fourth straight month.

The Commerce Department says the gap between exports and imports climbed to $45.7 billion in January from a revised $44.7 billion in December. Exports of goods and services fell 2.1 percent in January to $176.5 billion, lowest since June 2011. American exporters have been hurt by weakness around the world and by a strong dollar that makes U.S. products more expensive overseas.

Imports slid 1.3 percent $222.1 billion, lowest since April 2011. Petroleum imports of $11.2 billion were the lowest since November 2003. January imports of autos and auto parts hit a record $30.6 billion.

The deficit in the trade of goods with China rose to $31.1 billion in January from $29.7 billion.

Battle Of The Bulge

Battle Of The Bulge: The Trumpification Of Fox News And The GOP
People expected a night of standoffs: between Trump and Megyn Kelly, which didn't really happen, and between Trump and his rivals Sen. Rubio and Cruz, which certainly did happen.

“Donald, please try not to interrupt,” said Cruz, losing his temper at his rival for walking all over his talking points. “Breathe. Just breathe.” Meanwhile, Rubio, still slamming Trump as a “con man” and a fraud, appeared to strain himself so much within the first ten minutes that his voice went hoarse for the rest of the evening.

But the greatest standoff was between the figures on the stage and the people in the crowd: The audience itself was so rowdy and so loud it acted as fifth candidate on the stage.

It was an audience of hecklers. They shouted freely at the candidates, at the moderators, and over each other. >>>

Trump should quit debates while ahead

>>> They not only used video against Trump, but charts, to put the knock on his budget proposals. Imagine if Sen. Bernie Sanders had to explain his budget, or Hillary Clinton was confronted with videotape of her ever-changing stories about what she calls the FBI’s “security review,” and what the FBI director calls an “investigation.”

Wouldn’t happen. Ever. And she’s blowing off the Fox “town hall” with Sanders on primary election eve in Detroit on Monday night. “Scheduling conflict,” wouldn’t you know it.

If he’s not crazy, last night was Donald Trump’s final Republican debate. In fact, the debate in Houston last week probably should have been his last one — why give the pretenders a chance to knock his crown off, especially after sweeping Super Tuesday?

GOP Implosion Accelerates in Motor City Train Wreck

NATIONAL REVIEW: Detroit — It was not immediately clear which of the four remaining candidates won Thursday’s Republican presidential debate here. But there was no shortage of losers. Marco Rubio, needing a strong performance to reassure donors and persuade voters ahead of Florida’s do-or-die primary on March 15, spoke with a hoarse voice that rendered him incapable of topping Donald Trump in their frequent shouting contests. He looked and sounded fatigued, and was outshone by Ted Cruz in the race to ridicule Trump.

Trump, who in the debate’s opening minutes assured the American people of his sufficient genitalia, was on the defensive from start to finish. Cruz, Rubio, and Fox News’s moderators skewered him relentlessly >>>

Professor says Jews are behind 9/11 attacks and she's keeping her job

The president of ultra-liberal Oberlin College is standing by the professor who has been posting a slew of anti-Semitic rants and bizarre 9/11 conspiracy theories on social media. The prestigious Ohio college — alma mater of Lena Dunham — released a letter from president Marvin Krislov defending associate professor Joy Karega’s freedom of speech, The Chronicle-Telegram reported Wednesday. “I believe, as the American Association of University Professors says, that academic freedom is ‘the indispensable quality of institutions of higher education’ because it encourages free inquiry, promotes the expansion of knowledge, and creates an environment in which learning and research can flourish,” Krislov writes.

Assemblyman demands college fire professor who blames Jews for 9/11

Responding to The Post’s story about associate professor Joy Karega, Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) said both Republican and Democratic candidates must “stand up against this kind of hatred”. “I truly hope the leaders of America will see to address this atrocity and will send a clear-cut message that anti-Semitism and any form of hatred won’t be tolerated,” he wrote in a statement Wednesday afternoon.

Hikind criticized Krislov’s inaction, calling the letter he wrote “embarrassing.” Krislov, himself a practicing Jew and grandson of a rabbi, said he was hurt by some of Karega’s posts, but also was strongly against limiting any kind of speech. “Cultivating academic freedom can be difficult and at times painful for any college community,” he wrote. “The principles of academic freedom and freedom of speech are not just principles to which we turn to face these challenges, but also the very practices that ensure we can develop meaningful responses to prejudice.”

‘Assassinate Trump’: Violent Threats Going Unchecked on Twitter

An ugly wave of rhetoric is showing up on the social media platform Twitter since GOP front runner Donald Trump scored a series of successes on Super Tuesday.

Beginning Wednesday, dozens of Tweets appeared, explicitly calling for Donald Trump’s assassination. Most of the tweets appear to be from accounts of black Americans.

Such calls for violence are a direct violation of Twitter’s terms of service, however at press time all of these accounts are still active. This is troubling given Twitter’s recent history of what appears to be a war on conservative media, including their unexplained de-verification of Breitbart tech editor Milo Yiannopoulos’s account.

The media has once again made its business to play up racial tensions, reducing Trump’s stances against illegal immigration and Muslim terrorism to “racism.”

FLASHBACK - Hillary Ordered The Final Massacre At Waco

Hillary, not Bill, not Janet Reno, not Webb Hubbell, not Vince Foster was the one who ordered the final assault. Final death count: 76 Branch Davidians, including 21 children and two pregnant women.

Hillary was the one who ordered the FUBAR final assault on the holed-up Branch Davidians in Waco on April 19th, 1993. The final death count from this disastrous fiasco was 76 Branch Davidians, including 21 children and two pregnant women. The appalling disaster at Waco was what motivated Timothy McVeigh to participate in the terrorist-type bombings in Oklahoma City, two years later on April 19, 1995.

Hillary was putting pressure on Vince Foster (her longtime boyfriend, sexual partner and emotional husband) and Webb Hubbell who was the #3 guy at Justice Department, to have a forceful resolution to the Waco standoff.

Texas GOP Head Twitter Rant Goes Viral: Barbara Bush Should Be in Porn, Hillary Made Bill Abandon His Love Child with Black Hooker, and WORSE

The palpable outrage within the Texas Republican establishment has gone nationwide as the man who has been called a "human dumpster fire" has just been voted as the new head of the Travis County GOP and is set to take office in June.

Libertarian Robert Morrow, the newly elected chairman of the Travis County Republican Party (Travis County being the home of Austin, the Texas state capitol) is shocking people with his often vulgar comments about the Bushes, the Clintons, and even his own party, spurning calls for his removal by multiple Texas officials including Governor Greg Abbott who said Morrow “cannot adequately represent the Travis County GOP” or speak for its values.

Morrow won the position fair and square with 54% of the vote, but now even Morrow's vice chair, GOP strategist Matt Mackowiak, is claiming he will "not rest" until he finds a way to unseat Morrow who is an "absolute embarrassment to the party".

Moscow is accused of “violations of international law by leading deliberate bombing campaigns on civilian targets including bakeries, hospitals, markets and schools."

Betting Odds That Mitt Romney's Running For President Just Spiked

Mitt Romney tore into Donald Trump in a speech on Thursday, calling him “very, very not smart” and “phony.” The spectacle of a party elder bashing its frontrunner for the nomination was remarkable in itself, but also worth noting: Romney on Thursday sounded even more like a candidate than Marco Rubio, who did his own version of Trump real-talk on Sunday, making headlines mainly for his speculation about the length of Trump’s fingers.

Romney’s speech ignited the political betting markets that have been tracking a possible insurgent candidacy from the former Massachusetts governor in a brokered convention. The convention play is something that’s been speculated about for a while (McKay Coppins does so effectively here).

Webmaster's Commentary:

Here is the problem. Romney cannot participate in the primaries. He could be forced on the GOP at the convention, or Romney may be the candidate for the GOP leadership's much-hinted-at third party run, but then he has to run petition drives in all 50 states just to get on the general ballot.

A Romney third party will split the GOP vote and hand the White House to Hillary, which apparently what the GOP leadership is willing to do to stop Trump.

Ukrainians Dying by the Thousands Due to Lack of Meds, Protesters Blame Yatsenyuk (Video)

Then suddenly his election activity dropped sharply, and he was left far behind coming in fourth. Why? Apparently, a Ukrainian pro-Russian oligarch sponsoring him had fallen out with Yatsenyuk. Yatsenyuk began looking for new masters and found them in the West. So he changed his tune, and as PM implements western liberal reforms, including healthcare reform. And now, according to the protest organizers, every day about 1,500 terminally ill Ukrainians die from lack of medications.

Pennsylvania grand jury finds 50 Roman Catholic priests raped hundreds of children

Hundreds of children in western Pennsylvania were sexually assaulted by about 50 Roman Catholic priests over four decades while bishops covered up their actions, according to a state grand jury report released on Tuesday.

The report found that former Altoona-Johnstown Diocese Bishop James Hogan, who died in 2005, and his successor, Joseph Adamec, who retired in 2011, worked to cover pedophile priests’ tracks and that some local law enforcement agencies also avoided investigating abuse allegations, said state Attorney General Kathleen Kane.

“The heinous crimes these children endured are absolutely unconscionable,” Kane told reporters in unveiling the report, based on a two-year investigation. “These predators desecrated a sacred trust and preyed upon their victims in the very places where they should have felt most safe.”

They can now use their results and consequences, in the form of refugees, immigrants and terrorists, in order to try to alter European geopolitics and even attempt “regime change” in the “first world”. Globalization, “la mondialisation heureuse” (happy), as its French supporters used to call it, was often confused with … easy traveling by international middle class and the use of I-pads. It’s not about them. Every TV news watcher can easily understand now that the era of “globalization” is nothing but a state of permanent, destructive War of everybody against everybody. Following Saudi airstrikes that hit an area near the only medical facility run by Doctors without Borders (MSF) in the northern Yemeni city of Sa’ada has been closed. The only medical facility in the Razeh district of Sa’ada was evacuated after two raids struck 20 meters from the hospital on Tuesday, MSF said in messages posted on Twitter. The MSF said that staffs were afraid to work in the hospital, which was also attacked in January. Back then, 4 people were killed and 10 injured in the strikes. A wave of resignation has swept Armed Forces General Command (DGRSZ), which is the Polish military’s key command apparatus. Nearly all of its most important officers have tendered resignations in the last few days. Out of 23 generals assigned to the DGRSZ, five have resigned, including three two-star generals. The list of resignations is not being published. One of the generals who is unofficially mentioned as having resigned is Division General Janusz Bronowicz... US Missile Defense Outdated, Unable to Withstand New Challenges

The global geopolitical environment has changed, but the US missile defense strategy has stayed the same, making Washington vulnerable to new nuclear challenges, a US analyst wrote. The US has invested billions in missile defense technology because it believes that the capability to defend against ballistic missiles will help mitigate nuclear risks to Washington and its allies in the 21st century, Sputnik reported. The approach is based on the 2010 Ballistic Missile Defense Review (BMDR) which may now prove to be ineffective, Ivanka Barzashka, a nuclear security specialist at Stanford University, wrote in an article for The National Interest. The author pointed out that the three basic premises of the posture are now being challenged by a new strategic environment...

It’s Official: Canada Has Sold All Of Its Gold Reserves

One month ago, when looking at the latest Canadian official international reserves, we noticed something strange: Canada had sold nearly half of its gold reserves in one month. According to the February data, total Canadian gold reserves stood at 1.7 tonnes.

That was just 0.1 per cent of the country’s total reserves, which also include foreign currency deposits and bonds.

As we noted, the decision to sell came from Finance Minister Bill Morneau’s office.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Canada, like Great Britain, appears to be dumping its gold to help keep gold prices down, to prevent people from emptying their NIRP savings accounts, selling their paper equities, and buying metals. Yes, that can work for a while. But now all these governments are out of gold, and cannot play that game any more. What happens when the private banks and depositories receive requests from the owners of the gold in their vaults to return it ... and it isn't actually there? Will all these governments selling their gold reserves plunder their own people to make good on the banks' promises?

A Rally For Peltier

In 1976, Leonard Peltier went behind bars for the murder of two federal agents. Forty years later, his advocates have not forgotten him. Supporters gathered on February 6 to mark and protest the 40th anniversary of his incarceration in the federal prison system. The “International Day of Solidarity” was commemorated with prayer, discussion, music, dancing and drumming. The common theme: “Forty years is enough.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Peltier was framed and set up by the FBI (like all too many other innocent Americans who dared speak truth to the government.) That's what the FBI does; frame innocent people, make murders look like suicides, and crush careers in Hollywood for anyone who asks questions. Actually, if it were not for the tin badges, you couldn't tell most FBI apart from the mafia!

Leonard Peltier (born September 12, 1944) is a Native American activist and member of the American Indian Movement (AIM). In 1977 he was convicted and sentenced to two consecutive terms of life imprisonment for first degree murder in the shooting of two Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agents during a 1975 conflict on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.

Peltier's indictment and conviction is the subject of the 1992 documentary Incident at Oglala, a film directed by Michael Apted. Peltier has been identified as a political prisoner by certain activist groups. Amnesty International placed his case under the "Unfair Trials" category of its Annual Report: USA 2010, citing concerns with the fairness of the proceedings. His murder conviction has survived appeals in various courts over the years.

Each subsequent year the U.S. Mint has reached a new high with the exception of 2012, which is okay because in 2013 the volume, not only reached a new high it was higher than 2011!!

The EU Going Quietly into the Light?

Our long-term projection models targeted March 13/14, 2016 for when the confidence in the EU would begin to crack much more profoundly among the average community. Indeed, the general view about the EU’s future has begun to plummet as reported in nearly every member state (28 in total) with the exception of just a few. The most striking statistics come from Netherlands and Germany where people are now overwhelmingly negative about the outlook of the union. Ireland is the least pessimistic, coming in at 20%, with Greece leading the pack at 63%. The pessimism in Greece has increased by 20% in the past year alone. It appears the computer has successfully targeted the correct period, but this feat was accomplished by looking at the business cycle. It is very clear that once the cycle turns down, confidence collapses.
