Atlantic Canada snowed under with second storm in three days

Blowing snow battered parts of Atlantic Canada for the second time in three days Wednesday, closing businesses and government offices and snarling transportation in the region.

Environment Canada meteorologist Darin Borgel said Nova Scotia bore the brunt of a slow moving low pressure system south of the province that was expected to dump up to 30 centimetres or more snow on northern and eastern areas of the province throughout the day.

There was potential for higher amounts with the rapidly intensifying storm, said Borgel.

Crimea Documentary Reveals How Close Russia Came to Shootout with NATO

Now that UK and US trainers are being dispatched to Ukraine, now that joint military exercises with NATO are being prepared there are in place all the preconditions for yet another ‘false flag’ provocation such as have marked turning points in the Russia-West relationship over the past year. First there was the sniper fire on Maidan that ‘justified’ the coup d’etat. Next came the downing of the Malaysian airline, which was instantly placed at Russia’s door and justified severe sanctions. Should snipers successfully kill NATO soldiers on Ukrainian soil, we may easily expect the next lurch towards war with Russia which may be unstoppable.

White House pushes Palestinian statehood in face of Netanyahu win

The White House says that a two-state solution is still the best way to resolve the dispute in the Middle East, Israeli Prime Minister’s Benjamin Netanyahu promise this week to prevent further establishment of a Palestinian state notwithstanding.

“A two-state solution is the best way to address this conflict,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest told reporters aboard Air Force One on Wednesday, according to USA Today.

Netanyahu said earlier this week on Monday that he would fend off efforts to create a Palestinian state if he’s re-elected as prime minister of Israel. On Wednesday, the leader declared himself victorious following a narrow win against challenger Isaac Herzog of the center-left Zionist Union.

BEX ALERT - Earth had warmest winter on record

The Earth just had its warmest winter on record, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced Wednesday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Record cold, snow and ice along the Northeast. Icebergs in Cape Cod, more record snow and cold in Colorado, 100 inches of snow in a single 18 hour period in a town in Italy, we had a blizzard on the Big Island of Hawaii last Friday that forced the evacuations of the observatories and still the US Government (the same US Government that lied to you about Saddam's nuclear weapons) is pushing this human-caused global warming tripe as an excuse to take more of your money with a carbon tax. And USA TODAY parrots it all without question!

Why Is Al Gore Warming Up?

Al Gore, just like the planet, is getting hotter by the hour these days.

There he is at SXSW, rubbing elbows with tech elites, hipsters, and the commerce secretary. There he is, svelte and poised and proclaiming his new optimism to The New York Times. There he is in Vox, where Ezra Klein is trying to draft him into the 2016 presidential race. He's even popping up in conversations between Bill Kristol and Paul Begala. (If you feel compelled to check a calendar after that last one, I swear it really is 2015 and not 1995.)

It's not bad for a dude who peaked at 10 p.m. on November 7, 2000. Sure, he's had some good moments—notably the Nobel Peace Prize—but he's also had some not-so-good moments, and it's strange to see him getting so many headlines now. But what's behind this Gorenaissance? This reinvi-Gore-ation? This renew-Al? One way to think through the question is to think about what constituencies might benefit.

FLASHBACK - Fossil Microbes in Meteors

Webmaster's Commentary:

As you know, I am partial towards the planet Mars in my astronomy interests, and continue to champion the recognition of Dr. Gilbert Levin as having detected indigenous life on Mars during the Viking missions.

As I ramp my animation business back up to pay my medical bills not covered by my Obamacare compliant health insurance I am working on a small documentary on Mars, during which I did a web search about the fossil microbes seen in a meteorite recovered in Antarctica determined to have originated from the planet Mars. This story briefly made the major news in 1966, then faded.

I was rather surprised to find out that there have been dozens of other papers published detailing separate cases where scientists have discovered microfossils that appear to be biological shapes that do not match anything known here on Earth inside of meteorites, primarily carbonaceous chondrites. Each paper is immediately followed by dismissive articles in the corporate media that ridicule the idea that there is any evidence for life elsewhere in the universe. Usually there is no refutation of the data, only comments like "Rubbish" provided by "authorities" eager to see their name in major media. Needless to say, funding to pursue the question of what these fossilized objects are is almost as rare as funding to study the coming ice age!

At the bottom of my article on Dr. Levin I drew a parallel between Europe's initial suppression of Marco Polo's discoveries in China (to preserve the power and authority of the church) and a very obvious institutional bias within NASA against confirmation of the Viking results. I observed that confirmation of life on other worlds would be a socially transformative event, leading humans to put down their weapons of war and unite together to find out who is out there. This would be a threat to those whose wealth and power rests on the machinery of endless wars.

But in looking at all these papers and all the micrographs, there is enough "smoke" here to wonder if we should not look for the fire, and if confirmation of extraterrestrial life has literally been under our feet all along!

China’s Yutu Moon rover is still alive after nearly 15 months on the lunar surface, continuing to surprise as the small craft has prevailed through conditions it was never designed to survive. Being released from the Chang’e 3 lander in December 2013, the small rover was expected to operate for three months, however, a fault within its motor control system rendered the vehicle stationary at the end of the mission’s second lunar day – no longer able to drive or actuate any of its moving parts such as its solar panels that were normally used to protect the rover’s body during the two-week long lunar nights to maintain thermal limits.

Flashback 2014 - Have We Been Deceived About What Happened on 9/11? - Christopher Bollyn

A lecture by Christopher Bollyn that took place the 25th of May 2014 in Gothenburg Sweden.

Christopher Bollyn is an American journalist who has investigated the events of 9-11. He helped Professor Steven E. Jones in the spring and summer of 2006, when Jones found solid evidence of Thermite in the dust of the Twin Towers. The discovery and discussion of Thermite in the demolition of the World Trade Center led to serious trouble for both Jones and Bollyn. In the end Bollyn had to go into exile.

Christopher Bollyn has written several book on the subject, for example "Solving 9-11: The Deception that Changed the World".

The lecture was arranged by the Cui Bono Association.

The first exit polls presaged a rough tie between the Likud and Zionist Union.

Exit pollsters who presented a woefully inaccurate map of Tuesday’s election outcome that night, are searching for clues as to why their results differed so vastly from the actual votes being counted.

Hydrogen House project

Hydrogen House Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to the pursuit of clean and renewable solutions to help meet the world's increasing energy demand. Inventor Mike Strizki founded the organization to educate the public while conducting research on hydrogen and other clean energy technologies.

Hydrogen is the same element that fuels the Sun, and Mr. Strizki has retrofitted his home in Hopewell, New Jersey, to convert solar energy into hydrogen gas. The gas provides clean electricity by way of hydrogen fuel cells, and can be stored indefinitely. Strizki even runs his fuel cell car with the hydrogen his home system produces for free! Unlike fossil fuels that release CO2 and other emissions when burned, Strizki's clean energy systems require no oil or gas wells to be drilled, and emit only chemically pure water and oxygen... two things none of us can live without!

Whistleblower: State Department Employees Who Don’t Sign Separation Agreement Face Dire Consequences

Failure to sign a formal separation agreement can have dire consequences for rank-and-file State Department employees, an agency whistleblower told The Daily Caller.

That is in stark contrast to what happens to top-level officials such as former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton if they refuse to sign the separation form, OF-109.

Ramifications for lower-level State Department employees include the withholding of retirement benefits and possible investigations conducted by the agency into why employees declined to sign the form, whistleblower Richard Higbie says.

By signing OF-109, agency employees affirm that they have turned over all records — classified or unclassified; emails or physical documents — pertaining to official government business.

Critics banned, Islamophobes welcomed at “We Believe in Israel” UK conference

Organizers of a major pro-Israel conference taking place in London this weekend have been vetting the political views of those registered to attend.

I know since, as a researcher examining the pro-Israel lobby in the UK, I signed up to attend, making no attempt to conceal my identity.

But those behind the 22 March “We Believe in Israel” conference, staged by a body of the same name which declares itself the “grassroots” arm of the UK’s major pro-Israel lobby group BICOM (the Britain Israel Communications and Research Centre), wrote to me to say my “application” to attend had not been accepted.

Conversely, organizations with links to the transnational Islamophobia industry appear to have been welcomed with open arms.

The uncounted: why the US can't keep track of people killed by police

A year ago, in a bureaucratic shift that went unremarked in the somnolent days before Michael Brown was shot dead in Ferguson, Missouri, the US government admitted a disturbing failure. The top crime-data experts in Washington had determined that they could not properly count how many Americans die each year at the hands of police. So they stopped.

The move did not make headlines. Before Brown was killed, a major government effort to count people killed by police could be mothballed without anybody noticing. The program was never fully funded, and no one involved was accustomed to their technical daily work drawing a spotlight.

Netanyahu's victory is clear break with US-led peace process

In his sports shop in the Palestinian village of Hizme, Mohammad al-Kiswani, aged 52, reflected bleakly on the re-election of Binyamin Netanyahu.

“When Netanyahu won,” he said, “he dried the last drop of water that could quench our thirst for a state. This time he will be more radical. He promised the Israeli public he will not negotiate a two-state solution or negotiate over Jerusalem. He has taken off his mask and it has shown an ugly face.”

Binyamin Netanyahu bids to form rightwing Israeli coalition after decisive win

According to reports in the Hebrew media, Netanyahu has already approached Aryeh Deri of the ultra-orthodox Shas party, Avigdor Lieberman, who leads Yisrael Beiteinu, and former Likud minister Moshe Kahlon, who leads a new centrist party Kulanu, which campaigned on social and economic issues.

The calls sketched out the likely shape of Netanyahu’s new government, should he succeed in putting together a coalition in the next few weeks.

That appears to be a government more rightwing and religious than its previous incarnation, reflecting Netanyahu’s own sharp tack rightwards in the last days of the election campaign, as he declared his opposition to a two-state peace solution and vowed to push ahead with settlement building.

A password like “adgjmptw” is nearly as bad as “123456”

The last pattern—adgjmptw—stumped the analysts until they thought of another keypad: that of old-fashioned phones, where the number two correlates with the letters A, B, and C; 3 with D, E, and F; and so on. To type “adgjmptw” on an old cell phone, one essentially dials “23456789.”

“I think ‘adgjmptw’ is just one of many examples—and an especially nice one, given the novelty of how it’s chosen—of how we are, for the most part, predictably unimaginative when it comes to choosing passwords, despite a decade of warnings from password strength checkers during sign-ups,” a WP Engine spokesman tells Quartz. “We love shortcuts. World War II myths fuel Western crimes

Freshman US Senator Tom Cotton already has two claims to fame. First he wrote a letter to Iran in an effort to sabotage his own President’s diplomatic efforts and start a war. And then he set an all-time record by invoking Hitler in less than one minute during his first Senate speech.

Sen. Cotton thus stands condemned under Godwin’s Law, which states that whoever mentions Hitler first automatically loses the debate. “Playing the Hitler card” is widely reviled. Yet people like Cotton cannot resist the temptation.

Why has the demonization of Hitler—and of anybody one wants to demonize through comparisons to Hitler—become such a massively overused, utterly shopworn cliché?

Coca-Cola pays health experts to suggest soda as a healthy snack

Coca-Cola is courting controversy again after a new report found that the company pays fitness and nutrition experts to recommend drinking its soda as a healthy snack.

Several nutritionists and fitness experts suggested that sipping on a mini can of Coke could be part of a healthy diet during American Heart Month in February, but the Associated Press reported Monday that Coca-Cola is working with health experts in an attempt to promote its sugary beverage – one that’s otherwise being criticized for contributing to America’s obesity problem.

EU-US Power Play Behind Regime Change in Russia

With “friends” like European Council President Donald Tusk and top NATO commander Gen. Philip Breedlove, the EU certainly doesn’t need enemies.

Gen. Breedhate has been spewing out his best Dr. Strangelove impersonation, warning that evil Russia is invading Ukraine on an everyday basis. The German political establishment is not amused.

Tusk, while meeting with US President Barack Obama, got Divide and Rule backwards; he insisted, “foreign adversaries” were trying to divide the US and the EU – when it’s actually the US that is trying to divide the EU from Russia. And right on cue, he blamed Russia — side by side with the fake Caliphate of ISIS/ISIL/Daesh.

Envelope Sent to White House Tests Positive for Cyanide, Secret Service Says

The envelope arrived on Monday at a facility elsewhere in the Washington area that screens mail for the White House. Biological tests were negative, but a chemical test on Tuesday came back positive for cyanide, the agency said.

The envelope was sent to another facility to confirm the result.

According to the website The Intercept, a law enforcement alert said that the return address was for a man who has a Secret Service record dating to 1995, including sending a package covered in urine and feces.

Canada’s Immigration Minister Delivers Pro-War Speech against Russia

Canada’s minister of immigration and citizenship, Chris Alexander, was one of the featured speakers at a fundraising dinner in Toronto on February 22, 2015 organized by the extreme-right Ukrainian Canadian Congress. The minister delivered a pro-war rant that could easily serve as dialogue in a film sequel to the 1964 doomsday-nuclear war film, ‘Dr. Strangelove’.

Alexander told the audience that “every” military option must be exercised in the process of giving a “comeuppance” to Russian president Vladimir Putin.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Okay Chris, if you really feel that way about it; here's your rifle. Here's your parachute. Watch your head climbing into that transport plane and we'll call Putin and tell him you are on your way to kick his butt all by yourself!

Netanyahu Wins by Stephen Lendman

snip: Believing otherwise is foolhardy. Israel's 20% Arab population is powerless, persecuted, and denied rights afforded solely to Jews. Election results changed nothing.

Israel is like America. Democracy is pure fantasy. Not a dime's worth of difference separates major parties on issues mattering most.

Voter choices are largely bad or worse. For Israeli Arab citizens and most Jews, Netanyahu or Herzog makes no difference.

Election results changed nothing. Government headed by either leader assures ugly business as usual.

Both and likely coalition partners support:
apartheid worse than South Africa's;
militarized occupation harshness;
settlement construction on stolen Palestinian land;
war, not peace;
Arabs denied virtually all rights afforded Jews; and
continuation of decades if institutionalized racism.

Fannie And Freddie Are Headed For Another Bailout

Taxpayers pumped over $200 billion in to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac after the financial collapse of 2008. While the Obama Government used taxpayer subsidized loans to move a large quantities of foreclosed housing inventory from the FNM/FRE and in to big investment funds, FNM/FRE were busy ballooning their mortgage holdings – again.

Now the Inspector General’s Federal Housing Finance Agency has issued a warning that both FNM/FRE are headed for another bailout, which is no surprise to me:

FLASHBACK FEBRUARY - Record Cold And Snow Destroy Global Warming Claims

Yet another bitterly cold, snowy winter is destroying alarmist global warming claims, proving once again that over-the-top global warming predictions are proving no more scientifically credible than snake oil.

This morning, stunning photos show New England lobster boats frozen in port, looking like they are stranded deep within the Arctic Circle. The boats have been frozen in place for weeks, which would be remarkable enough if this were the middle of January. However, the calendar is about to turn to March.

Connecticut is experiencing its coldest February in recorded history. So is Michigan. So is Toronto. Cleveland and Chicago are experiencing their second coldest February in recorded history. Frigid and record cold temperatures are being set from Key West to International Falls. At the same time, blizzard after blizzard is burying much of the nation with record winter snow totals, with winter snowfall records beings set from Boston to Denver.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Already the Carbonazis are flooding the media with claims that this was the second warmest winter on record and the snow and ice was only in one tiny little area of New England.

History, Repeated: Ukraine Neo-Nazis Turn to Old Ally US for 'Help'

64 years ago, on March 17, 1951, the Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA), notorious collaborators of Nazi Germany during the Second World War, called upon the United States to provide it with military assistance aimed against the Soviet Union.

After the defeat of German Nazism in 1945, members of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN) and their paramilitary UPA units continued their struggle against the Soviet Union. Although former Nazi collaborators officially dissolved the UPA in 1949, many of them joined foreign subversive groups and intelligence agencies, dreaming of revenge.

Powerful space storm hits Earth

A geomagnetic storm that government scientists rate as severe hit the planet on Tuesday morning.

The storm rated as a G4 on a NOAA scale, which tops out at G5. It's the strongest storm that's happened in the current solar cycle, which lasts about 11 years.

The Space Weather Prediction Center says that the storm is from sun activity that started on March 15. Two magnetic eruptions occurred in quick succession. They combined into one larger eruption before intersecting the Earth's orbit on Tuesday.

The storm arrived earlier (10 a.m. EDT) and was stronger than predicted. The storm could last 24-36 hours.

‘Jew-hating campaign’ seen with Israel divestment movement on campuses

The three swastikas found over the weekend inside a Jewish fraternity house at Vanderbilt University weren’t the first — the Nazi symbols were painted recently on Alpha Epsilon Pi houses at Emory University and the University of California, Davis.

It could be a drunken prank, or it could be that those few smears of graffiti represented something larger. A survey of 1,157 Jewish college students at 55 campuses released in February by Trinity College and the Louis D. Brandeis Center found that a whopping 54 percent said they had experienced or witnessed anti-Semitism in the past year.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Those swastikas could also be another hate crime hoax by Israel's supporters to build public sympathy. There have been many such hoaxes exposed time and again, such as the professor at Claremont College in California or the jewish student caught drawing swastikas on her own door at George Washington University.

If you think about it, nobody BUT Israel still thinks the swastika is important.

When you were a child, and played cops and robbers or cowboys and indians, you wanted to be the good guy, either the cops or cowboys. The younger children had to be browbeaten into playing the bad guys whether robbers or indians. Well, the Nazis are generally viewed as the bad guys and nobody really wants to be them. The posers pretending to be modern nazis inevitably turn out to be a front for some intelligence or propaganda operation.

For the rest of us, WW2 and the Nazis are history from before we were all born, including myself, and I am 62. Were it not for Israel's constant exploitation of the Nazis for political gain, most of us would recall Hitler as poorly as we recall the Kaiser!

But contrary to the "Jew hater" or "Antisemitism" spin, the opposition to Israel's government is the result of their actions, not their religion or ethnicity. It is their BEHAVIOR that is a problem and defending Israel's aggressions by screaming "Jew hater" makes as much sense as defending the Nazis by screaming "German hater!"

What the weak euro and strong dollar mean for the global economy

A weaker euro is engineered to get the European economy back on track. As with all monetary policy, this is good for some, bad for others. RT takes you through the winners and losers.

Law Enforcement Freaks Out Over Apple & Google's Decision To Encrypt Phone Info By Default

Think of the children! And the children killed by terrorists! And just be afraid! Of course, this is the usual refrain any time there's more privacy added to products, or when laws are changed to better protect privacy. And it's almost always bogus. I'm reminded of all the fretting and worries by law enforcement types about how "free WiFi" and Tor would mean that criminals could get away with all sorts of stuff. Except, as we've seen, good old fashioned police/detective work can still let them track down criminals. The information on the phone is not the only evidence, and criminals almost always leave other trails of information.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The government is a bigger threat to us all than criminals or terrorists (meaning the ones not actually working for the government in the first place).

For Every Dollar Spent Influencing US Politics, Corporations Get $760 Back

I almost don’t want to write it, but if one is OK with crony capitalism, essentially stealing from the American citizenry via any number of official means, investing a few bucks in cronies gives amazing returns.

I am always astounded by the favors (almost always legal favors) politicians give out for relatively paltry sums. Sure Mr X goes to work for Y company after working at Z agency and Y company just happens to get a contract. But that contract(s) might be worth billions. The newly hired ex-bureaucrat costs maybe a few hundred thousand dollars per year. Chump change.

A solid return on investment. And with campaign contributions to congresspeople the ROI is often even better.

US sets new record for denying, censoring government files

For the second consecutive year, the Obama administration more often than ever censored government files or outright denied access to them under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act, according to a new analysis of federal data by The Associated Press.

The government took longer to turn over files when it provided any, said more regularly that it couldn't find documents, and refused a record number of times to turn over files quickly that might be especially newsworthy.

It also acknowledged in nearly 1 in 3 cases that its initial decisions to withhold or censor records were improper under the law — but only when it was challenged.

What's Scarier: Terrorism, or Governments Blocking Websites in Its Name?

The French Interior Ministry on Monday ordered that five websites be blocked on the grounds that they promote or advocate terrorism. “I do not want to see sites that could lead people to take up arms on the Internet,” proclaimed Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve.

When the block functions properly, visitors to those banned sites, rather than accessing the content of the sites they chose to visit, will be automatically redirected to the Interior Ministry website. There, they will be greeted by a graphic of a large red hand, and text informing them that they were attempting to access a site that causes or promotes terrorism: “you are being redirected to this official website since your computer was about to connect with a page that provokes terrorist acts or condones terrorism publicly.”

UPDATED MARCH 28 - PHOTOS OF DAM DRAINAGE AS IT HAPPENED - THE END of the California orange

The following photos are absolute proof they drained the dams on purpose, causing severe flooding and NEVER gave california growers a SINGLE DROP for the sole purpose of killing all the orange orchards, grape vineyards and almond groves. It is important to note that with any war effort waged by the usurpers of a conquored government, that fake documentation will be produced by the government to support the lie. That is when you have to use photos to prove that the documents, which show a drought and reduced out flows, are fake.

Webmaster's Commentary:

While the evidence is compelling, I suspect a less nefarious and more alarming cause. It may be that California dams are starting to show signs of weakening, like we are seeing at the Boone Dam in Tennessee and indeed across the entire country. and they have to let the water out to prevent a complete collapse. This is a reminder that the drought in California is not caused by human-caused global warming but by the Federal Government neglecting to maintain the nation's critical infrastructure while spending tax money on wars, Wall Street, and Israel!
