Ben Laden a été soigné en juillet à l'hôpital américain de Dubaï (presse)mercredi 31 octobre 2001 - 2h51 GMT PARIS, 31 oct (AFP) - Oussama ben Laden a été soigné en juillet à l'hôpital américain de Dubaï où il aurait rencontré un responsable de la CIA, affirment mercredi le quotidien français Le Figaro et Radio France Internationale (RFI).Les deux médias, citant "un témoin, partenaire professionnel de la direction administrative de l'hôpital", affirment que l'homme que les Etats-Unis soupçonnent d'avoir commandité les attentats du 11 septembre est arrivé le 4 juillet à Dubaï par avion en provenance de Quetta, au Pakistan. Il a été immédiatement transféré à l'hôpital pour un traitement rénal. Il a quitté l'établissement le 14 juillet, ajoute le Figaro. Au cours de ce séjour, affirme le quotidien, le représentant local de la CIA a été vu se rendant dans la chambre de ben Laden. "Quelques jours plus tard, l'homme de la CIA se vante devant quelques amis d'avoir rendu visite au milliardaire saoudien". Selon le Figaro et RFI qui citent une "source autorisée", le représentant de la CIA aurait été rappelé à Washington le 15 juillet. Ben Laden est recherché par les Etats-Unis pour terrorisme depuis les attentats contre les ambassades américaines du Kenya et de Tanzanie en 1998. Mais ses liens avec la CIA sont plus anciens et remontent à l'époque où ben Laden participait au combat en Afghanistan contre les forces soviétiques. Selon le Figaro, ben Laden était accompagné à Dubaï de son médecin personnel et fidèle lieutenant, qui pourrait être l'Egyptien Ayman al-Zawahari, de gardes du corps, ainsi que d'un infirmier algérien. Il a été admis dans le service d'urologie du docteur Terry Callaway, spécialiste des calculs rénaux et de l'infertilité masculine. Osama was immediately transferred to the hospital for a renal processing (Kidney Dialysis). He left the establishment on July 14, adds the Barber.
During this stay, reports the daily newspaper, the local representative of the CIA was seen going in the room of Bin Laden.

Osama was treated by urologist Doctor Terry Callaway, a specialist in the renal calculi (kidney problems) and male infertility. Contacted by telephone on several occasions, the doctor did not wish to answer questions.
Several sources had already given a report on a serious renal infection of Bin Laden, who has installed a mobil dialysis machine in his Afghan den of Kandahar during first six-month period 2000, according to " authorized sources' " quoted by the French daily newspaper and RFI.
