Catalonia crisis to BREAK UP EU? Bloc 'could FALL APART if Spain installs puppet regime'

Catalan Minister for Foreign Affairs, Institutional Relations and Transparency, Raul Romeva, speaking on BBC Radio 4’s news and current affairs programme, said: “How can the European Union democracies be credible if they allow the Spanish government to take control of Catalonia?”

Mr Romeva added: “How can the European Union live with that situation? How can EU democracy survive? And how can they be credible if they allow this to happen?

“We cannot simply keep blind and deaf to that. It is an [attack] on democracy. We are defending in Catalonia the principles, the values, that we supposedly are defending in the European Union.”

Senate Probe Asks Whether Robert Mueller Alerted Obama Administration to Russian Bribery Scheme

The Senate Judiciary Committee is looking into the 2010 sale of U.S. uranium to Russia under then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and whether then-FBI Director Robert Mueller alerted the Obama administration about its investigation into Russians involved in the deal, according to Newsweek.
The FBI in 2009 had begun an investigation into corruption and extortion by senior officials of Tenex, a subsidiary of Russian nuclear company Rosatom, The Hill revealed last week. The report validated reporting by Breitbart News editor-at-large Peter Schweizer, who first wrote about the uranium deal in his book Clinton Cash.

Court filings showed that Rosatom was aware of the bribery scheme by Tenex head Vadim Mikerin, who pled guilty in 2014 to orchestrating more than $2 million in bribe payments, through accounts in Cyprus, Latvia, and Switzerland.

John Brennan’s Police State USA – Mike Whitney

So it all started with Brennan, the resentful Intel chief who got his nose bloodied by Putin in Syria and decided to seek his revenge.

And, keep in mind, Washington’s Sunni proxies were not a division of the Pentagon; they were entirely a CIA confection: CIA recruited, CIA-armed, CIA-funded and CIA-trained. The defeat is not a loss for the US Military, but a blot on the record of CIA Director John Brennan, the architect and main proponent of the failed project to remove Assad. Brennan’s whole scheme has gone down in flames.

Why Are Mercenaries Fighting America's Wars?

Recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have made private military contracting a multi-billion-dollar industry. Mercenaries have been around for centuries, but they have emerged from the shadows thanks to increased demand for contractors from countries like the U.S. and Russia. Now, the Trump administration has reached out to individuals with a stake in the industry – like Erik Prince and Stephen Feinberg – for advice with their Afghanistan strategy. This Sunday on AJ+, we explore the dangers of a world with more professional soldiers.

Madagascar Hospitals On High Alert: ‘No One Is Safe’ From The Black Plague

Travelers are being warned to keep their distance from areas of Madagascar affected by the bubonic plague. As the outbreak worsens, some doctors are even warning that “no one is safe” from the disease.

The outbreak of the black plague in Madagascar has so far killed 97 people, and doctors are warning that it will be continuing to spread and worsen, meaning no one is safe. Health officials say the disease, which contributed to the deaths of more than 50 million people in Europe during the Middle Ages, has spread from rural areas to the more urban areas not usually affected. Hundreds of cases are reported on the tropical island every year, but experts are warning the epidemic is “much more dangerous” than in previous years.

Bozell: 'The Media Are Now Complicit in a Blatant Cover-up'

"The media are now complicit in a blatant cover-up," Media Research Center (MRC) President Brent Bozell said Monday, blasting the media’s censorship of the developing Uranium scandal involving the Clintons and Obama Administration.

MRC research has revealed that CBS has devoted only 69 seconds to the bombshell story The Hill broke last Tuesday, October 17, while ABC and NBC have still yet to cover it. In that report, it was established that the FBI had found evidence of a Russian bribery plot before the Obama Administration’s controversial 2010 nuclear deal with Moscow.

Since the initial story was published, there have been several developments including new reports that the Clintons and the State Department were targets of a Russian influence campaign. According to The Hill, the FBI was aware of several Russian covert attempts to gather intelligence on the State Department and infiltrate the Clintons’ inner circle as early as 2009.

Tillerson Demands Iran "Militias" Leave Iraq As Fighting Against ISIS "Comes To A Close"

One week after we reported that the head of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guard (which two weeks ago was designated by the US as a terrorist organization), Qassem Soleimani, was observed in Erbil last Sunday where he met with Kurdistan regional president Barzani to "discuss" the growing crisis - the latest indication of Iran's surging influence in the region - and just days before Iraq sent in troops assisted by Iranian militia into Iraq's Kurdish region, which promptly regained control over the oil-rich Kirkuk region, on Sunday Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said that Iranian "militias" need to leave Iraq as the fight against Islamic State militants was coming to an end.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Let's take a look at a map of Iran:

Iran and surrounding countries

IF the US military is planning a strike against Iran, they will need all Iranian militia out of Iraq, if they are looking to base some military actions against Iran from Iraq, with which it shares a border.

Additionally, the SDF, which recently captured the Syrian city of Raqqah, are refusing to turn it over to the Syrian government; SDF refuses to hand Raqqah over to the Syrian government

It is conceivably possible that the US military is thinking about using Raqqah a "base" for both operations against the Syrian government and Iran.

But I would politely suggest that the US government and military think twice about an attempted decap against Tehran; Russia has long stated that should Iran be attacked militarily, Russia will come to its aid.

And BTW, what specific charges does Secretary of State Tillerson hold against Iran's Revolutionary Guard?!? Sir, if you expect young Americans to die to neutralize Israel's "existential enemy du jour", I believe American mothers and fathers need a reason for this to happen, not just unspeicified accusations.

The Pentagon Wants Drone 'Swarms' to Support Infantry

In the near future, US Army and Marine Corps infantry squads could march into battle behind swarms of hundreds of flying and crawling drones.

At least, that's the plan. On October 12, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency—the Pentagon's fringe-science wing—asked robot-developers to submit ideas for tactics and technologies that could allow small infantry units to deploy swarms of 250 or more robots.

The swarms must function "in built-up areas up to eight city blocks in size over mission durations of up to six hours," according to Dr. Timothy Chung, the program manager.

Chung's Offensive Swarm-Enabled Tactics initiative—a.k.a, OFFSET—overlaps conceptually with a separate military effort to deploy large formations of small drones from fighter jets. OFFSET also dovetails with DARPA's Squad-X program, which is trying to outfit infantry squads with better communications, sensors, and weapons.

Webmaster's Commentary:

London Introduces Carbon “T-Charge” Tax On Diesel and Older Petrol Vehicles

By Aaron Kesel

As part of the plan to begin phasing out gas and diesel car sales over the next three decades, drivers of diesel vehicles and older petrol cars in the UK will now face a tax called T-Charge for driving into the financial district and parts of west London, Reuters reported.

Drivers are already charged 11.50 pounds ($15) under a congestion charge. But those driving petrol and diesel vehicles typically before 2006 will now need to pay an additional 10 pounds ($13.19). That means if you have an older vehicle before 2006 or a diesel vehicle you will be paying a total of 21.50 pounds or ($28.19) just to get into the city...

Eye-Opening Survey Shows No.1 Fear For US Citizens Is Government, NOT Terrorism

An extensive survey of hundreds of adults across the United States has just revealed that the thing most Americans fear—more than anything else—is their own government. In fact, according to the survey, no other fear even comes close to the percentage of Americans who worry about their corrupt government officials.

The survey was conducted by Chapman University and it serves to back up the point that while Americans claim to live in the Land of the Free, deep down, they realize they are living in a corrupt oligarchy.

Anti-establishment billionaire Andrej Babiš to be named Czech PM

One of central Europe’s richest men will begin the tricky task of building a ruling coalition after convincing Czech voters in weekend elections that he can stem immigration, fight corruption and banish the establishment from power.

Andrej Babiš, a tycoon turned populist politician who has been compared to Donald Trump and Silvio Berlusconi, confirmed on Monday that the Czech president would ask him next week to begin forming the next government.

US NOW ADMITS SYRIAN "REBELS" HAVE USED CHEMICAL WEAPONS

rom the first moment chemical weapons were used on the Syrian battlefield, the American public was led to believe that only one side could possibly be responsible. The constant refrain in the echo chamber of US government officials and the mainstream media was that only the Assad government possessed chemical stockpiles and the technological capability of deploying such heinous weapons, therefore blame for each and every chemical attack from Ghouta to Khan Sheikhoun was laid at the feet of Assad and the Syrian military.

And yet last Wednesday, for the first time, the US State Department casually dropped an important admission into its official Syria travel warning for American citizens: that the core rebel group currently operating in northwest Syria not only possesses but has used chemical weapons - to the point that the State Department considers it a major enough threat to publicly warn citizens about.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears to me that the only thing at which the Occupied Unhinged Surveilled States of Amerika excel is lying to the American public; or attempting to lie, as demonstrated by this article.

Narratives are always driven by agendas, and this issue of rebels using poison gas, was utter kryptonite to this government; so it lied, saying it was Bashar Al Assad's military which did this, when in fact, it was not.

CATALAN SEPARATISTS PLAN HUMAN SHIELD, "CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE" TO BLOCK SPANISH TAKEOVER

If Spain hoped that Catalonia would willingly and cheerfully hand over control over the separatist region to Madrid after Rajoy announced on Saturday that the Spanish government will fire Catalan leaders and force new elections in 6 months, he may be disappointed. According to Bloomberg, Catalan separatists are "mobilizing a human shield" to block efforts by Spanish authorities to take control of the breakaway region as both sides prepare to escalate the political conflict beyond what may soon be a point of no return.

The dramatic Catalan action is in response to Rajoy's shocing announcement on Saturday, when he disclosed plans to clear out the entire separatist administration in Barcelona and take control of key institutions including public media and the regional police force, the Mossos d’Esquadra. Spain’s chief prosecutor said that if Puigdemont declares independence he would face as much as 30 years in jail and signaled that he could be arrested immediately.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This could get very nasty very quickly.

Spanish Prime Minister Rajoy has proven himself to be no friend of peaceful, quiet, and forthright negotiations with the Catalonians, and will introduce as much brute force in this process as he thinks he can get away with, in order to coerce Catalonian leadership away from their declared independence.

But I would like to politely suggest to his advisors in the Spanish government, that it should be prepared for this brutality against the Catalonian people to be seen around the world, 24/7, and the optics of such tactics are going to reek to high heaven, particularly when the first fatality happens, and I am almost willing to bet you that there will be fatalities, to break up this human sheild.

Bill Clinton sought State’s permission to meet with Russian nuclear official during Obama uranium decision

As he prepared to collect a $500,000 payday in Moscow in 2010, Bill Clinton sought clearance from the State Department to meet with a key board director of the Russian nuclear energy firm Rosatom — which at the time needed the Obama administration’s approval for a controversial uranium deal, government records show.

Arkady Dvorkovich, a top aide to then-Russian President Dmitri Medvedev and one of the highest-ranking government officials to serve on Rosatom’s board of supervisors, was listed on a May 14, 2010, email as one of 15 Russians the former president wanted to meet during a late June 2010 trip, the documents show.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Uranium One was all about the Russian money, and about selling their brother and sister Americans out of control of this uranium for a given period of time.

And the Clintons are certainly adept at taking money - any country's money -as was well proven with Chinagate.

On October 23, spokesman for the US-led coalition Army Colonel Ryan Dillon said in Twitter that the SDF caught ISIS off guard and the terrorist group had no time to destroy the infrastructure.

ABC, NBC Maintain Clinton-Uranium Blackout, CBS Finds It 5 Days Late

Dickerson brought up the Clinton-Uranium scandal during an interview with Oklahoma Republican Senator James Lankford. After prefacing that the Senate Intelligence Committee, which Lankford sits on, could choose to review the FBI’s findings or investigate the accusations themselves, he asked the Senator:

You're looking into the Russian influence in the election, there have been reports this week about Russian efforts to try to influence the Obama administration and try to influence perhaps Hillary Clinton through donations to the Clinton Foundation with respect to the purchase of uranium. Is that something that the intelligence committee should look at, that you're interested in looking at?

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think that this will be a start of a trend, because the independent media (such as WRH) came out to it as quickly as the information was common knowledge (for anyone who cared to look at it), and the presstitute media, for the sake of its own financial survival, cannot be seen as either sugar coating it or ignoring it in the long run.

MUELLER INVESTIGATING PODESTA GROUP IN CONNECTION WITH RUSSIA PROBE

Tony Podesta and his firm, the Podesta Group, are now under federal investigation by FBI Special Counsel Robert Mueller in connection with the Russia investigation, three sources told NBC News.

The Podesta Group was subpoenaed in late August along with four other public relations firms who worked with former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort during a 2012-2014 lobbying effort for a pro-Ukraine think tank – the European Centre for a Modern Ukraine (ECMU) – tied to former Ukrainian president Viktor Yanukovych.

Yanukovych fled from Ukraine to Russia after he was unseated in a 2014 coup.

Two of the subpoenaed firms include Paul Manafort’s Mercury, LLC and the Podesta Group, founded by John and Tony Podesta and operated by the latter.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF these allegations prove true, the investigation has no where to go, except going to point back to Hillary Clinton's Russian collusion over the Uranium One deal, struck when whe was President Obama's Secretary of State.

And those loud banging and crunching you hear from the offices of The Podesta Group are massive amounts of data shredding and attempted hard drive demolitions!! :-)

On Returning From Syria: More Convinced Than Ever Western Media Narrative Is Bullshit

By Brandon Turbeville

In early October, 2017, I had the pleasure of visiting Syria on a mission to get a sense of the toll of the war, the mindset of the people, and the general situation on the ground. The goal was to see the country in person, get a sense of what life is like in Syria today, talk to the Syrian people and hear their side of things; i.e. their opinions on the government and the “rebels/terrorists,” their living conditions, Syria before the war versus Syria now, and whatever else they wanted to share. We wanted to see the areas formerly under control of the terrorists and talk to the residents there. We also wanted to visit the areas firmly under government control and speak to the residents living in these areas as well.

Man arrested after ‘good morning’ post was mistranslated by Facebook as ‘attack them’

A smiling Palestinian construction worker posted a photo of himself leaning against a bulldozer and holding a cup of coffee and a cigarette. He posted the photo on Facebook along with “good morning” in Arabic.

Israeli police, relying on Facebook’s translation service, believed the post said “attack them.” Haaretz reported, “The automatic translation service offered by Facebook uses its own proprietary algorithms. It translated ‘good morning’ as ‘attack them’ in Hebrew and ‘hurt them’ in English.”

The Palestinian man’s photo showed a bulldozer on the construction site in the Beitar Illit settlement which is located on the West Bank near Jerusalem. Bulldozers have been used in terror attacks against Israelis in the past.

Israeli police did not consult any Arabic-speaking officer, but instead relied completely on Facebook’s translation. As a result, the Palestinian man was arrested.

Smallpox Could Again Be a Serious Threat

But synthetic biology, like many other emerging technologies, is dual-use. The technological advances that fuel the amazing discoveries and products featured at the SynBioBeta conference can also be misused to cause harm.

The most recent dual-use concern about synthetic biology involves one of humanity’s oldest foes: smallpox. Smallpox was eradicated from nature in 1980, and all known stocks of the virus are located at World Health Organization–supervised repositories at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the United States and at the Vector Institute in Russia.

However, a Canadian scientist funded by the American biotech company Tonix has recently demonstrated the ability to create pox viruses from scratch.

The recent catastrophic Wi-Fi vulnerability was in plain sight for 13 years behind a corporate paywall

When this week’s KRACK wi-fi vulnerabity hit, I saw a series of tweets from Emin Gür Sirer, who’s mostly tweeting on bitcoin topics but seemed to know something many didn’t about this particular Wi-Fi vulnerability: it had been in plain sight, but behind paywalls with corporate level fees, for thirteen years. That’s how long it took open source to catch up with the destructiveness of a paywall.

Apparently, WPA2 was based on IEEE standards, which are locked up behind subscription fees that are so steep that open source activists and coders are just locked out from looking at them. This, in turn, meant that this vulnerability was in plain sight for anybody who could afford to look at it for almost a decade and a half.

FBI Informant "Threatened" After Offering Details Linking Clinton Foundation to Russian Bribery Case

In the midst of the new discoveries revealed yesterday about the Uranium One case (see: FBI Uncovered Russian Bribery Plot Before Obama Approved Uranium One Deal, Netting Clintons Millions), "Confidential Source 1" has once again hired an attorney, Victoria Toensing, a former Reagan Justice Department official and former chief counsel of the Senate Intelligence Committee, to get his story out.
Sitting down with The Hill earlier, Toensing said that the last time her client tried to speak out "both his reputation and liberty" were "threatened" by the Obama administration in a effort to force his silence.

Malware hidden in vid app is so nasty, victims should wipe their Macs

It's going to be an unpleasant weekend for some Mac users who are facing a complete system wipe and reinstall – after hackers stashed malware in legitimate applications.

Eltima Software, which makes the popular Elmedia Player and download manager Folx, today confessed the latest versions of those two apps came with an unwelcome extra – the rather horrid OSX.Proton malware.

The software nasty, which was injected into downloads of the applications, was spotted by security shop ESET, which alerted Elmedia. A subsequent investigation revealed miscreants had got into the developer's servers, implanted the malware into the download files, and then let the company infect its users as they fetched the software.

Proton is a remote-control trojan designed specifically for Mac systems.

Beached: Germany's Entire Submarine Fleet Out of Action

The entire complement of Germany’s high-tech submarine fleet is out of service, and, to hear the Berlin’s defense minister tell it, it’s not a good thing.

Currently, four of the country's active-duty U-boats — short for 'unterseeboot' or undersea boat, but not to be confused with the thousands of deadly Nazi subs that terrorized the oceans during World War II — are in the process of being serviced in drydock with equipment and communications upgrades, while the two remaining ships of Germany's six U-boat fleet wait their turn.

Berlin's Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen — through spokesperson Jens Flosdorff — has observed that the current state of non-readiness in the German submarine flotilla is less than optimal.

The firm's Global Transparency Initiative is in response to moves to ban the use of its technology on US government systems by the Department of Homeland Security over concerns of alleged ties with the Russian government.

The initiative comes days after reports that Russian government hackers used Kaspersky antivirus software to siphon off classified material from a PC belonging to a NSA contractor.

Biggest US Warship in Asia Enters South Korean Port as Tensions With DPRK Soar

The USS Ronald Reagan nuclear-powered aircraft carrier entered the port of Busan in southern South Korea on Saturday October 21 after a weeklong military exercise, fueling the standoff between the US and North Korea even further.

The US unveiled large scale drills in the region jointly with South Korea in order "to enable the combined defense" against North Korea's threat, US military Marc Dalton was quoted by NTD.tv as saying.

The 100,000-ton USS Ronald Reagan warship was involved in massive drills that started on October 15 and ended this Friday, which also included fighter jets, helicopters, as well as naval ships and submarines.

The US Central Intelligence Agency is reportedly expanding its covert operations in war-ravaged Afghanistan.

The spy agency is set to deploy “highly experienced officers and contractors” in a stated effort to take on Taliban militants, The New York Times reported on Sunday.

“The new effort will be led by small units known as counterterrorism pursuit teams. They are managed by CIA paramilitary officers from the agency’s Special Activities Division and operatives from the National Directorate of Security, Afghanistan’s intelligence arm, and include elite American troops from the Joint Special Operations Command,” the report said.

US has wiped Raqqah off the face of earth: Russia

Russia says the US has wiped the Syrian city of Raqqah "off the face of the earth" with carpet bombing in the same way the United States and Britain bombed Germany's Dresden in 1945.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Russian Defense Ministry accused the West of having rushed to provide aid to Raqqah to cover up its own crimes.

The immediate allocation of millions of dollars and euros for Raqqa, he said, is another example of how the US-led coalition uses double standards in Syria, and example of differentiating between "friendly" and "unfriendly."

The First Amendment is Under Serious Assault in Order to Stifle Anti-Israel Boycotts

Assaults on freedom speech can be found in many aspects of American life these days, but one specific area that isn’t getting the attention it deserves relates to boycotts against Israel. I’m going to highlight two troubling examples of this, both covered by Israeli paper Haaretz.

Democrat Joe Manchin wants Hillary Clinton to stay out of West Virginia as he vies for re-election

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin, who is up for re-election in 2018, said it "wouldn't be wise" for Hillary Clinton to campaign for him in his home state of West Virginia.

He was asked during an interview that aired Sunday on MSNBC's "Kasie DC," if he was a "dead man walking" after President Trump won West Virginia by a wide margin in the 2016 presidential contest.

"I sure don't think so," he replied, listing off his prior political posts in the state and saying of himself, "I'm just West Virginia, period. It's not Democrat, Republican to me."

Asked if he'd like Clinton to campaign for him, Manchin immediately derided the notion.

"It wouldn't be wise for Hillary to come to West Virginia. It wouldn't be a good thing for her or for me," he replied.

In Australia, more than 2 billion taxpayer dollars a year are funneled to renewable energy handlers by virtue of the operation of the renewable energy target and the associated renewable energy certificates, Sloan observes.

Rusyn Report: Ukraine will lose Transcarpathia to Hungary

The other day I met with representatives of the Rusyn movement from Transcarpathia residing in one of the countries of Eastern Europe. For security reasons, I cannot name these guests of mine, since in Transcarpathia they have relatives and friends who are under constant threat.

According to them, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) is unleashing a real hunt for Rusyn leaders, and many people have disappeared without a trace, while others are forced to cease their operations in the face of threats of physical violence.

As is well known, SBU officers are now being trained by their CIA colleagues, thanks to which their professional skills have greatly improved, as well as their equipment. My friends from Transcarpathia very highly estimate the capacities of the “Ukrainian Gestapo,” as the SBU is called in anti-fascist circles. The main factor behind the success of this service is not so much its professionalism as its brutality and disregard for legal norms.

ALERT: Trump Issues Urgent Warning to America, Please Listen

President Donald Trump has made a name for himself as someone who is not afraid to voice uncomfortable truths. Recently, Mr. Trump took on Great Britain and its problem with crime.

On his Facebook page, President Trump wrote, “Just out report: ‘United Kingdom crime rises 13% annually amid spread of Radical Islamic terror.’ Not good, we must keep America safe!”

As with everything President Trump says, the mainstream media was quick to denounce him, and claim that his statement is factually wrong.

The media has consistently claimed that President Trump and Republicans are wrong and “Islamophobic” for saying that certain European cities have “No-Go Zones” where all non-Muslims are encouraged to avoid.

Just this week, Sweden’s centrist Moderate Party proposed sending in the Swedish Army into several high-crime areas in Stockholm’s suburbs.

US preparing for North Korea's 'final step'

CIA Director Mike Pompeo said the United States has to act as if North Korea is on the verge of being able to strike it with a missile and act accordingly -- and that President Donald Trump is ready to do so.

"From a US policy perspective, we ought to behave as if we are on the cusp of them achieving that objective," Pompeo said Thursday at a security forum held by the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.

"They are so far along in that, it's now a matter of thinking about how do you stop the final step."

Trump and the Second Coming of Nuclear Nightmares (Literally)

The U.S. president has revived the fear of a nuclear holocaust for a new generation.

The first age of nuclear nightmares came in the 1950s and 1960s. They chiefly afflicted the young. Their parents had experienced nuclear realities by way of bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. That was part of a war, and ended it. It was normalized and rational, though in a basically ungraspable way.

Their kids grew up in a peaceful world haunted by nuclear terrors. Their teachers taught them to “duck and cover” beneath their desks if they saw the nuclear flash. They had nightmares (and waking ones) of it. The only moment of apparent imminence came during the 1962 Cuba Missile Crisis.>>>

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis formally began pushing Thursday for another round of politically toxic base closings.
