Trump’s Rush to Judgment on Syria Chemical Attack

On Sunday, President Trump announced his intention to make those responsible for an alleged chemical weapons attack on Douma, including the Syrian government and its Russian and Iranian allies, pay a “big price” for their continued disregard for international law. The next day U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley declared that “The United States is determined to see the monster who dropped chemical weapons on the Syrian people held to account.”

President Trump reinforced his call for action on Monday, noting that the United States would not sit back in the face of the alleged use of chemical weapons by Syria. “It will be met, and it will be met forcefully,” the president said, adding that those responsible for the attack will be held accountable, whether it was Syria, Russia, Iran or “all of them together.” Trump noted that a decision to use military force would be made “over the next 24 to 48 hours.”

Lawyers and Victims’ Families File Petition for Federal Grand Jury Investigation

Yesterday morning, attorneys from the Lawyers’ Committee for 9/11 Inquiry, together with more than a dozen family members of 9/11 victims, filed a petition with the interim U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Geoffrey S. Berman, demanding that he present evidence of unprosecuted federal crimes at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, to a special grand jury.

According to the 52-page petition, which is accompanied by 57 exhibits, federal statute requires the U.S. Department of Justice to relay citizen reports of federal crimes to a special grand jury. The unprosecuted crime alleged to have taken place on 9/11 is the bombing of a place of public use or a government facility — as prohibited under the federal bombing statute or 18 U.S.C. § 2332f — as well as a conspiracy to commit, or the aiding and abetting of, said offense.

Russian envoy slams WHO for recklessly releasing dubious information on Douma incident

Members of the World Health Organization (WHO) exhibited a lack of responsibility when they released allegations that almost 500 people asked for medical help in the Syrian city of Douma on April 7 with symptoms of poisoning. These actions by the WHO employees only serve to egg on those powers that are stoking the conflict in Syria, said Gennady Gatilov, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Office and Other International Organizations in Geneva, in a conversation with TASS.

Gatilov regarded the WHO’s statement as a serious one, highlighting that "it was made right when Syria had experienced a new uptick in tensions."

"We all have been hearing about the possibility of American strikes and the emergence of such a statement plays into the hands of those who strive for a scenario involving the use of force in Syria," the diplomat noted. "We consider it unacceptable."

FLASHBACK - UN accuses Syrian rebels of carrying out sarin gas attacks which had been blamed on Assad's troops

A senior United Nations official has claimed that Syrian rebels may have used chemical weapons against government forces.

Carla Del Ponte said evidence from casualties and medical staff indicated that rebel forces in the civil war had used the deadly nerve agent sarin.

‘Our investigators have been in neighbouring countries interviewing victims, doctors and field hospitals, and there are strong, concrete suspicions, but not yet incontrovertible proof, of the use of sarin gas,’ said Del Ponte in an interview with Swiss-Italian television.

‘This was use on the part of the opposition, the rebels, not by the government authorities.’

Last night, the UN commission looking into allegations of war crimes in Syria tried to row back on the comments by its human rights investigator, pointing out that conclusive evidence had not been discovered.

Macron says has 'proof' of Syrian chemical attack, vows response

France has proof the Syrian government carried out a chemical weapons attack last week and will decide whether to strike back when all the necessary information has been gathered, President Emmanuel Macron said Thursday.

France is expected to join the United States and Britain in carrying out air strikes or some other form of attack in response to the use of the weapons but it remains unclear when that might happen or even if it definitely will.

"We have proof that last week, now 10 days ago, that chemical weapons were used, at least with chlorine, and that they were used by the regime of [President] Bashar al-Assad," Macron said, without giving details on the evidence or how it was acquired.

BEX ALERT - North Korean Destructive Malware Is Back, Says DHS Report

American intelligence analysts have discovered a destructive strain of North Korean malware not seen since the 2014 attack on Sony that crippled the company’s computer systems, according to Department of Homeland Security documents obtained by Foreign Policy.

On Dec. 17, 2017, “advanced persistent threat actors” deployed “newly discovered destructive malware that shares a number of similarities to the destructive malware” used in the Sony attack, according to a restricted report issued late last year. “This is the the first known instance since 2014 that North Korea-tied destructive malware has been seen,” says the report, marked “For Official Use Only.”

FLASHBACK MARCH - Syrian army finds militants’ chemical weapons workshop in Eastern Ghouta

Syrian army troops have discovered a workshop used by foreign-backed militants to manufacture toxic chemical weapons in Eastern Ghouta, near the capital Damascus, according to Syrian state media.

Syria’s official news agency SANA reported on Tuesday that the clandestine workshop was uncovered near recently-liberated al-Shefounieh town in the volatile enclave as government soldiers were combing the area for possible improvised explosive devices planted by the so-called Jaish al-Islam Takfiri terrorist group prior to its defeat in the town and its suburbs.

The report, citing an unnamed military commander, further said that the plant, which consists of a two-story building with a basement located between Douma, enclave’s largest town, and al-Shefounieh, adding that it included a lab for making toxic chemicals containing equipment of “Saudi origin” and materials and protection gear of “Western origin.”

FLASHBACK MARCH - Syrian Military Uncovers Terrorist “Chemical Weapons Workshop” In East Ghouta

According to reports from Sputnik International, the Syrian Army has claimed that it has uncovered a chemical weapons “workshop” in East Ghouta after having liberated the territory where the workshop was located.

After sweeping through the village of Aftris in Eastern Ghouta following the withdrawal of terrorists from the area, Syrian Army Colonel Feruz Ibrahim told reporters that, “Presumably, the equipment of these munitions could be produced as part of a false flag accusation that government troops used chemical weapons.”

In other works, Ibrahim is echoing what many independent researchers have known for some time, i.e. that Western-backed terrorists have the ability and the desire to conduct false flag attacks to be blamed on the Syrian government for the purpose of justifying military action or airstrikes against the Syrian military by the United States and NATO.

Israel Vows To "Wipe Assad Off The Map" If Iran Launches An Attack From Syrian Territory

After they launched a lethal strike (from Lebanese airspace, no less) against the T-4 airforce base in Syria in retaliation for the a chemical weapons attack on a rebel-held Syrian village - killing several Iranians in the process - senior Israeli officials have finally confirmed what many have long assumed since the country started escalating its military operations within the borders of its crumbling Levantine neighbor.

That is, if Israel even so much as suspects that Iranian agents are planning an attack against Israel from Syrian territory, it will be Syrian President Bashar al-Assad who ends up on the receiving end of a preemptive strike from the IDF, per the Jerusalem Post.

Syrian Pro-Government Forces Evacuate Airports, Military Bases Ahead Of Airstrikes

In light of this morning's jawboning by Trump, who vowed that an attack with US missiles "nice and new and “smart!" is imminent, and following overnight unconfirmed reports that US warplanes are massing over the Syria-Iraq border, it will hardly come as a surprise that Syrian soldiers and pro-government forces are getting the hell out of dodge.

According to Reuters, which cites the (highly conflicted) Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, Syrian pro-government forces are evacuating main airports and military air bases ahead of possible U.S. strikes.

While the report has yet to be confirmed, amusingly Reuters clarified that "the Syrian army could not be immediately reached for comment." It's also not immediately clear what they would say: "yes, we are retreating, have a good day."

11 Russian Warships Leave Syrian Port To Conduct Exercises

Update: The Russian warships leaving port has been reported as a drill, as InterFax reports:

Russian Navy ships, starting from April 11, will conduct exercises near the coast of Syria, follow from the international notification for aviation personnel (NOTAM) and navigational warning for seafarers.

The reports contain the coordinates of the closed area, as well as the conduct of training shooting there.

The training area, located in the international waters of the Mediterranean, is adjacent to the sea border of Syria. It will be closed on 11-12, 17-19 and 25-26 April from 10 to 18 Moscow time.

Currently, as part of the permanent operational connection of the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea, there are about 15 warships and vessels providing the Black Sea Fleet, including the carriers of the Caliber cruise missiles Frigates Admiral Grigorovich and Admiral Essen, as well as submarines that repeatedly struck at the targets of terrorists in Syria.

On the Brink of a Full Blown War? Reports of Nuclear Submarines on the Way to Syria

Star and Stripes reports an additional Navy battlegroup are departing the US this morning (11th April) to join the other US destroyers:

“The aircraft carrier will be accompanied by the guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy and the guided-missile destroyers USS Arleigh Burke, USS Bulkeley, USS Forrest Sherman and USS Farragut. The destroyers USS Jason Dunham and USS The Sullivans will join the strike group later, a Navy statement said. The strike group, carrying 6,500 sailors and Carrier Air Wing One, will cruise alongside the German frigate FGS Hessen. It remains unclear what the upcoming strike group deployment might entail.”

The Russian naval facility in Tartus is a leased military installation of the Russian Navy located on the northern edge of the seaport of the Syrian city of Tartus. According to CNN Turk, US destroyers were at a distance of 100 km from the port of Tartus, as of Monday.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Were I a betting woman, I would almost be willing to bet that US/UK military action against Syria will begin close to this weekend, when citizens of both countries are distracted with sports and other activities.

If the attack is delayed, until all the US assets are in place, we well be looking at a decap strike against Damascus itself.

At almost 69 years old, I have never, this lifetime, felt myself so completely distressed at being so thoroughly ignored by a government which, allegedly, is supposed to represent my interests and needs, and those of my brother and sister Americans; not those of Israel, and not those of the country's military/industrial complex.

The costs of such a war will have horrific repercussions internationally and ecomomically, and make the United States even more of a target for those international leaders who would like to see this country balkanize and collapse.

It appears to me that there are only two things left to do right now, because Oahu is definitely a first-strike target for either Russia or China, to take out, because of all the military communications flowing east from this rock; pray, and prepare, the best we can.

As Trump considers military action on Syria, Pentagon worries it could put Russian soldiers in the crosshairs

As Pentagon planners ready a possible military response to a suspected poison gas attack in Syria, one danger has sparked special concern — whether U.S. airstrikes may inadvertently kill Russian soldiers in Syria and escalate the regional war into a confrontation between Washington and Moscow.

The chances of a potential clash would increase if President Trump opts for a heavy bombardment, employing not only Tomahawk cruise missiles fired from Navy ships offshore — as he did last year after a previous chemical attack — but also manned bombers and other warplanes to strike multiple targets in Syria, current and former officials say.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Those international chemical inspectors better get on the ground in Syria, and double time quickly, as in, yesterday!!!! We need a time machine here, or at least Dr. Who's tardis.

And if Pentagon officials are worried that the US may inadvertently kill or maim members of the Russian military, they need to talk President Trump out of this madness, and right the hell now, because there will almost be no way to avoid this, as embedded as the Russians are with their Syrian military counterparts.

Of course, we have Israel's military leadership cheerleading for a US war against SyriaIsraeli commanders push for an offensive against Syria. but President Trump needs to understand, fully, and consequentially, that these Israeli military officials fully expect that the costs of such a war will only be borne in American blood, and with American money.

We also have Saudi Arabia's B.O.Y. (the Butcher of Yemen),Crown Prince bin Salman, suggesting that Saudi Arabia could conceivably join the fray Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman mentions that Saudis could take part on a US-led attack on Syria. Considering just how non-brilliantly their military campaign is going in Yemen, even with US military assistance, which can only be characterized as a wanton genocide against the Yemeni people, President Trump should refuse their help; the US should NOT be colluding with the Saudis in any more war crimes, this time against the Syrian people, thank you very much!!

That Congress is, colletively, sitting idly by, and allowing such insantity to move forward, when only Congress has the power to declare war, derrived from the American Constitution, suggests that they are all completely worse than useless, and should be completely sacked sacked at the next round of elections to which they are subject.

A Wedding That Became a Funeral

On December 12, 2013, a United States aerial drone launched four Hellfire missiles on a convoy of 11 cars and pickup trucks during a counterterrorism operation in rural Yemen. The strike killed at least 12 men and wounded at least 15 others, 6 of them seriously.

Yemen authorities initially described all those killed in the attack outside the city of Rad`a as “terrorists.” The US government never officially acknowledged any role in the attack, but unofficially told media that the dead were militants, and that the operation targeted a “most-wanted” member of Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) who was wounded and escaped.

Witnesses and relatives of the dead and wounded interviewed by Human Rights Watch in Yemen said the convoy was a wedding procession. They said everyone in the procession was a civilian, including all of the dead and injured, and that the bride received a superficial face wound.

'We categorically want to avoid confrontation with Russia' – NATO deputy chief

Deputy Secretary General of NATO Rose Gottemoeller says that the Alliance does not wish to face military conflict with Russia, but still blames it for a "troubling pattern of behavior," from Ukraine to Salisbury.

"We would categorically want to avoid a situation where confrontation with Russia is inevitable. And that's exactly what our decision-making is governed by," Gottemoeller told Russian daily Kommersant in an interview published in Russian on Tuesday. Baghdad hospital bombed

US aircraft hit a Red Crescent maternity hospital in Baghdad, the city's trade fair, and other civilian buildings today, killing several people and wounding at least 25, hospital sources and a Reuters witness said.
The attacks occurred at 9.30am (0630 BST) and caught motorists by surprise as they ventured out during a lull in the bombing. At least five cars were crushed and their drivers burned to death inside, Reuters correspondent Samia Nakhoul said.

Patients and at least three doctors and nurses working at the hospital were among those wounded.

The missiles obliterated wings of Baghdad's trade fair building, which lies next to a government security office that was apparently missed in the bombings.

Iraq's information minister, Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf, told a news conference that overnight bombings by US-led forces killed 24 civilians and injured 186 across the country. In Baghdad, he said, 10 civilians had been killed and 90 wounded.

One Day After Warning Russia of Civilian Casualties, the U.S. Bombs a Hospital in Afghanistan

Yesterday afternoon, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power marched to Twitter to proclaim: “We call on Russia to immediately cease attacks on Syrian oppo[sition and] civilians.” Along with that decree, she posted a statement from the U.S. and several of its closest authoritarian allies — including Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the U.K. — warning Russia that civilian casualties “will only fuel more extremism and radicalization.”

Early this morning, in the Afghan city of Kunduz, the U.S. dropped bombs on a hospital run by Doctors Without Borders (Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)). The airstrike killed at least nine of the hospital’s medical staff, and seriously injured dozens of patients. “Among the dead was the Afghan head of the hospital, Abdul Sattar,” reported the New York Times.

Airstrike Hits Doctors Without Borders Hospital in Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan — A crowded hospital in the embattled city of Kunduz that treats war wounded came under attack on Saturday and the American military acknowledged that it may have killed 19 patients, staff members and others at the facility while firing on insurgents nearby.

The attack, which the military said in a statement might have been “collateral damage” that occurred while engaging militants, drew a fierce international outcry. The head of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, condemned it and called for a “thorough and impartial investigation.” It also renewed scrutiny of the United States military’s record of causing civilian casualties, which has alienated the Afghan public and often undermined relations with the government here.

Trump Builds Coalition for War Against Syrian Government: UN Security Council rejects motion to investigate before striking

President Trump is in the process of building a new coalition of allies to participate in a multi-nation “strike force” attack on the Syrian government. This talk of coalition action reflects the rapid escalation of plans since US officials embraced Saturday’s allegations of a chemical weapons strike.

French President Emmanuel Macron, Donald Trump, and British PM Theresa May
Officials said as early as Sunday that the claimed Saturday attack would lead to a US military strike, and President Trump indicated this would happen “very soon.” Instead of a one-off strike, as with last April’s tomahawk missile bombardment of Syria, the US seems to be envisioning starting a whole new war over it.

This new US-led war in Syria doubtless suits much of the administration just fine. After all, this time last week US officials were trying to talk President Trump out of ending US military involvement in Syria. Now, they seem to have a pretext for an open-ended conflict.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This rush-to-war madness, just at the moment President Trump desperately needs a distraction from the Meuller investigations, which has led Meuller right into the gutter of the Stormy Daniels allegations, coupled with a crippled US economy (except for the one percenters) must not be allowed to go forward.

We have had sexual predators in the Oval Office before; that... is nothing new to the power-mad creeps in the bowels of power in DC, who fervently believe that their power and authority gives them carte blanche to abuse people with impunity.

So, to all the Riveros Rangers out there, please call your Congressional Representatives, POLITELY, and tell them that if they support this move, you would rather vote a dog, cat, or monkey into their seat, come the next election cycle, than have them continue allegedly "representing" you, because this war is NOT what the American people want at all.

CBO UPDATE: TRILLION-DOLLAR DEFICITS TO ARRIVE TWO YEARS SOONER

According to the latest report from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), released on Monday, the U.S. economy is going great guns. But that growth, no matter how robust, will never catch up with government spending. Hence, despite that growth, annual deficits of a trillion dollars will arrive two years sooner than originally projected.

That previous projection, made by the CBO last June, showed a deficit of $563 billion for 2018, rising to $689 billion next year. Now, with the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act behind them, the CBO projects this year’s deficit to be $804 billion and next year’s to be just a touch below a trillion dollars, at $981 billion.

The CBO is considered by many to be less partisan than most government entities and as likely to create more accurate projections than those coming from the White House’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB). It covered itself with this disclaimer:

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please remember: most of Trump's budget goes to the military, and military/industrial complex, which has absolutely not fixed the problems with its reckless, unaccountable spending, or fixing a mentality, in the minds of the corporate masters of our weapons industries, that it is perfectly fine to deliver products late; with huge cost-over-runs, that will never work as advertised.

And a huge, glaring example of this problem is the Lockheed-Martin's weapons equivalent of the failed "Edsel", the F-35, which, after all the taxpayer money thrown at it to fix it, may never, ever function as promised.

THE CAUSE OF LONDON’S SURGE IN VIOLENCE IS OBVIOUS — BUT NOBODY’S TALKING ABOUT IT

As the United States continues to experience sensational mass shootings and many Americans call for gun control, the London is dealing with its own rash of violent crime, mostly in the form of knife attacks.

Countless memes circulating on the internet have pointed out that despite the British government’s harsh gun laws, criminals have still found ways to commit violence and murder. Despite this, the government is clamping down further, attempting to restrict knife possession even more than it already has in its fruitless attempts to stop the wave of crime (in 2014, for example, a teenager was restricted from buying spoons, a measure that has apparently failed to reduce crime).

But there is more to the story, and what’s missing from the mainstream conversation further discredits the actions of the British government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The allowance of small amounts of recreational drugs, coupled with an enlightened drug policy, which would decriminalise drugs, would just pull the rug out from under drug crime, as Portugal has done:

Portugal’s Example: What Happened After It Decriminalized All Drugs, From Weed to Heroin

Of course, this is a completely logical move, which is why the UK will dismiss it out of hand.

And besides that, there are too many people, including politicians, the owners, and investors in, private prisons, and bankers, who are very happy with the current status quo, because they are raking in the money from the results of current drug policies in both the US and UK.

So do not expect to see utterly failed drug policies change in the near future in either country.

TOO BIG TO LET OTHERS FAIL US: HOW MARK ZUCKERBERG BLAMED FACEBOOK'S PROBLEMS ON OPENNESS

Facebook’s first reactions to the Cambridge Analytical headlines looked very different from the now contrite promises Mark Zuckerberg made to the U.S. Congress this week. Look closer, though, and you'll see a theme running through it all. The message coming from Facebook’s leadership is not about how it has failed its users. Instead it's about how users —and especially developers —have failed Facebook, and how Facebook needs to step in to take exclusive control over your data.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How Clintonesque of Zuckerberg!!

NESTLÉ'S PLASTIC INITIATIVE CALLED 'GREENWASHING' BY GREENPEACE

The environmental impact of the world's plastic consumption is profound. Plastic trash and the tiny pieces that chip off it can be found everywhere—oceans, marine life, land and our bodies, too.

To help solve this planetary crisis, Nestlé pledged Tuesday to make all its plastic packaging 100 percent recyclable or reusable by 2025. The Swiss food giant envisions a world where "none of its packaging, including plastics, ends up in landfill or as litter," it said.

"Plastic waste is one of the biggest sustainability issues the world is facing today. Tackling it requires a collective approach," Nestlé CEO Mark Schneider said in a statement.

Nestlé joins a number of major international corporations, such as rival Unilever, making similar commitments.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As long as Nestle believes it can get away with this, it will continue to do this..

It will It will only be when laws are strengthened in these areas, and someone like Nestle's CEO, currently Mark Schneider, could acetually be looking at hard jail time for failing to comply, that you will see a real change.

Of course, that will most likely happen when pigs discover that they are aerodynamic, as Nestle's purchasing power stretches to the highest level of international politicians, including our own in the US.

IRAN LIMITS FOREIGN CURRENCY HOLDINGS OUTSIDE BANKS

Iran has limited the amount of foreign currency citizens can hold outside of banks to €10,000 ($12,350) in an effort to control the falling rial and control the country’s severe dollar shortage.

In a statement, the central bank said Iranians have until the end of April to sell excess foreign currency or deposit it in banks.

The decision comes as part of the Iranian government’s measures to overcome losses to the local currency. The rial has lost almost half of its value since September. Iranians have been purchasing foreign currency and gold coins in anticipation of the US pulling out of a 2015 nuclear deal which promised an end to sanctions on the oil rich state.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Just because an action is the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing the US government could do, is, unfortunately, no guarantee that the US government will not do it.

And to the Iranian people, should it come to this, I must apologise to you for what the US government appears to be getting ready to do, which is to, first, withdraw from the P5+1 agreement, then figure out some way to institute regime change in Tehran, because the Israeli government has decreed Iran to be its "existential threat".

The American people are not in control of their government in any way shape, or form, and that is a very dangerous place for a country which is, allegedly, a democratic republic, to be, because its "leadership" believes it can do anything it wants with impunity.

Oh yes, we have the Kabuki-like drama of campaigns, and a national election; but at the end of the day, we only have the choice between one corporately purchased candidate, or the other; there is no other real choice for American citizens but this.

The American people are very sick and tired of getting lied into war, as it appears ready to bomb both Syria, and Russian assets within Syria, and beyond, on a trumped up charge that the al Assad government used chemical weapons on its own people, when it has almostcompletely obliterated the US-backed jihadists, with Russian help.

US Still Assessing Intel on Alleged Douma Chemical Attack - Mattis

Amid US President Donald Trump's twitterstorm on the situation in Syria, US Defense Secretary James Mattis keeps his tone calm, speaking about the alleged chemical attack in Douma.

When asked about the evidence supporting accusations against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's forces for the alleged chemical attack, "Mad Dog" Mattis responded in a measured tone:

"We're still assessing the intelligence - ourselves and our allies. We're still working on this," Mattis stated.
However, he reiterated Trump's attitude to the issue, saying the Pentagon was ready "to provide military options if they are appropriate as the president determines," NBC News reported.

‘Another False Flag’: Fmr Congressman Ron Paul on Syrian Gas Attack

As the Free Thought Project reported this week, late Saturday night, the mainstream media began spreading the news of an alleged chemical weapons attack in Douma, Syria. Immediately after the unconfirmed reports, President Donald Trump began threatening Russia, Iran and “Animal Assad,” and blamed them for the attack. However, after examining the situation objectively, many people are now calling this alleged attack a false flag, including former congressman Ron Paul.

Indeed, less than a month ago, the Russian military predicted this exact scenario. As CNBC reported last month, the threat, by Chief of Russia’s General Staff Valery Gerasimov, was widely reported by Russia media sites such as state news agency RIA and Tass. It said Gerasimov said Russia had “reliable information” about militants preparing to falsify a government chemical attack against civilians.

Attacking Syria Is Impeachable

Francis Boyle is professor of international law at the University of Illinois College of Law. He said today: “Any U.S. attack targeting the Syrian government or its forces would clearly violate both U.S. and international law. When Obama was in a similar position in 2013, his advisor Ben Rhodes [see below] has since commented that they turned back largely because they were afraid of impeachment. That fear is well founded. While the prospect of impeaching Trump is thrown around frequently for partisan purposes, on this issue, the constitution is clear: Initiating a war or any such attack without authorization is clearly impeachable.

Prepared for a conflict with Russia, Israel is pushing Trump to take action in Syria

Israel is escalating the diplomatic conflict with Russia and publicly standing by the United States concerning the chemical weapons used by Syrian President Bashar Assad against his own citizens.

Follow Ynetnews on Facebook and Twitter

Jerusalem’s aggressive approach is reflected in a statement released by the Foreign Ministry shortly before 11 pm Monday, in which Israel ruled unequivocally that Assad and his regime had used chemical weapons against civilians on Sunday.

The delayed Israeli response is based on the results of a thorough examination by the Military Intelligence Directorate. The examination’s findings revealed in an unequivocal manner that chemical warfare agents—likely nerve gas—were indeed used in the city of Douma in addition to chlorine, which usually isn’t lethal.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Okay, so Assad has all but won the war in Syria, ISIS and Al Qaeda (supported by the US) are on the run, and we are expected to believe that Assad would attack a hospital full of children with poison gas, knowing that this would allow the US to re-invade his country?!?

You are some special kind of stupid if you believe that one!

Tucker Carlson Responds to Criticism Over Syria Comments: They Want Us to ‘Shut Up and Obey’

Last night Tucker Carlson questioned whether the Assad regime was actually responsible for the recent Syria chemical attack, stunning a lot of people, but Carlson stood by it tonight and told viewers people want them to just “shut up.”

“All the geniuses tell us that Assad killed those children,” Carlson said last night. “But do they really know that? Of course, they don’t really know that, they’re making it up. They have no real idea what happened. Actually, both sides in the Syrian Civil War possess chemical weapons. How would it benefit Assad, from using chlorine gas last weekend?”

Tonight Carlson again questioned the wisdom of striking Syria before bringing up his commentary and the reaction it received.

He said no one wants to ask the questions he’s asking, bringing up the people who “denounced us,” including New York Post editor Seth Mandel‘s simple “Stfu”:

Dear President Trump: Please Read This Before Bombing Syria

Dear Mr. President,

You've said you're a smart man.

Now's the time to prove it ...

You've said that you'll get to the bottom of who carried out the latest Syrian chemical weapons attack.

We can help ...

Instead of bombing Syria for a chemical weapons attack, please prove that you are smart enough to learn the facts.

If you spend 5 minutes reading, you'll learn that Syria has been "framed" for more than 50 years, that the U.S. first carried out a "regime change" operation against Syria in 1949 and has been drooling to do it again ever since, that the Ruskies have framed other countries to justify war ... and that you're too smart to fall for the "Oldest Trick In the Book".

DEFENSE MINISTER DECLARES SLAIN GAZA PHOTOJOURNALIST 'TERRORIST'

Gazan photo journalist Yaser Murtaja was a salaried senior member of Hamas’s military wing, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman said on Tuesday.

“The photographer was a terrorist,” Liberman told reporters in Katzrin on the Golan Heights. Murtaja was one of nine Palestinians fatally shot by the IDF during last Friday’s “Great March of Return” protest on the Gaza border. Liberman did not provide any substantiation on the source of his claims.

OF THE LIARS, BY THE LIARS, AND FOR THE LIARS

In today's enlightened age of alternative media and global internet communications, lies by rulers are quickly laid bare. Yet most people remain trapped by their beliefs of what they imagine their rulers to be, and greet each new revealed mendacity with, "What? Our ruler lied to us?" The question more properly ought to be, "When don't rulers lie to us?"

The historical fact is that all rulers lie pretty much all of the time, and each newly revealed lie ought not to be thought of as a shocking isolated incident, but merely a continuation of standard operating bullshit! In short, the vast majority of what you are told by rulers is a lie, and the rare moment of absolute truth a rare and precious gem worthy of celebration.

Here are some examples from history.

THE LIE OF THE (LAST) CENTURY

There is nothing new in a government lying to their people to start a war. Indeed because most people prefer living in peace to bloody and horrific death in war, any government that desires to initiate a war usually lies to their people to create the illusion that support for the war is the only possible choice they can make.

The Nerve Agent Saga: Are the Skripals Being Held Against Their Will in Britain?

Chief hospital administrator Cara Charles-Barks hasn’t explained if it obtained consent forms signed by the Skripals after they regained consciousness.

Without them, claims about respecting their privacy “are improper, according to the practice rules of the British National Health Service, and unlawful violations of their human rights, according to British and European law,” Helmer explained.

If attending physician to the Skripals Dr. Christine Blanshard falsified Yulia’s comments, or failed to get consent forms from both Skripals, she and the hospital administrator “can be called to account…in court,” Helmer added.

Yulia, and likely Sergey, are conscious able to speak. Yet they’re being held incommunicado – except for one brief monitored conversation between Yulia and her cousin Viktoria Skripal in Moscow.

May hesitating to join Trump's attack on Syria, wants more evidence – Times

British Prime Minister Theresa May is reportedly not keen on joining the US in its potential strike against Syria. The PM told Donald Trump she will not act until there's more evidence of Syria's culpability, the Times reports.

On Monday, US President Donald Trump said that he was "very strongly, very seriously" considering a military option in Syria, promising to make a "major decision" within up to 48 hours.

While the heating-up rhetoric from Washington suggests a military response may be imminent, the UK might be second-guessing its strategic partner now. According to a report by the Times on Wednesday, May told Trump that she would not risk pounding Syria with missiles until she sees more compelling proof of Damascus's culpability in the incident on April 7.

Moscow to Trump: Are ‘smart’ missiles an attempt to destroy alleged chem attack evidence in Syria?

Responding to a threat from US President Donald Trump, who said Russia should prepare for “nice new and smart missiles” launched by America at Syria, Moscow said if the weapons were smart, they would target terrorists.

“Smart missiles should fly towards terrorists, not [Syria’s] lawful government, which has spent several years fighting against international terrorism on its territory,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said in response to Trump’s tweet on Wednesday.

She added the US may be seeking to undermine an inspection by chemical weapons experts, who are planning to investigate on the ground in Syria after the alleged attack which sparked the current confrontation between Russia and the US.

500 Patients 'Exhibiting Signs & Symptoms' of Chemical Poisoning in Douma - WHO

Currently, UN aid agencies, including the World Health Organization (WHO), don't have access to most of Eastern Ghouta, including Douma, the alleged site of the chemical attack, and have to rely on data, provided by their "partners."

The World Health Organization has condemned an alleged chemical weapons attack in Douma and demanded an "immediate unhindered access to the area to provide care to those affected, to assess the health impacts, and to deliver a comprehensive public health response.

"According to reports from Health Cluster partners, during the shelling of Douma on Saturday, an estimated 500 patients presented to health facilities exhibiting signs and symptoms consistent with exposure to toxic chemicals. In particular, there were signs of severe irritation of mucous membranes, respiratory failure and disruption to central nervous systems of those exposed," Peter Salama, WHO deputy director-general for emergency preparedness and response, said in a statement.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Except that the medical facilities in Douma report they have seen NO patients with chemical weapons symptoms.

From Skripal To Syria, Will Western Bluffs Spark World War 3?

The situation in the Middle East and the world as a whole is a matter of skyrocketing concern. The risks of conflict were escalated a little over a month ago when UK Prime Minister Theresa May launched the “Skripal affair” and threatened Russia with cyberwar. Then the tune of chemical weapons supposedly used against Syrian “rebels” in Eastern Ghouta was sung more than a few times with the same notes of unsubstantiated arguments as a pretext to blame those who are working against the West’s interests. In Syria, the US and Britain are acting as the outright direct lawyers of jihadists, while the Syrian Army, supported by the Russian Air Force and volunteers from Iran, has virtually liberated Eastern Ghouta from jihadists.

US Reportedly Mulls 'Powerful Strike' on Syria, 22 Targets Include Russian Sites

US President Donald Trump has canceled his trip to South America in response to the alleged use of chemical weapons by the Syrian government forces in the city of Douma in Eastern Ghouta. Moscow and Damascus, for their part, are pressing for a fair investigation into the allegations, maintaining that it was a false flag attack.

Last week, several media outlets reported, citing militants, that Damascus had dropped a chlorine bomb on Douma, which allegedly claimed up to 70 lives. While the United States has held the Syrian authorities accountable for the alleged attack, Bashar al-Assad's government has vehemently dismissed the allegations, insisting that the entire incident was staged.
