Chicago Police Commander on Trial for Putting a Gun in a Suspect’s Mouth

Sounds like a low-budget action movie more than real life, doesn’t it?

The Department of Justice has announced an investigation of the Chicago Police Department for rights violations, likely over things like Homan Square, and Mayor Rahm Emanuel recently fired police superintendent Garry McCarthy over the death of a teen shot 16 times by one of his officers.

Now Chicago police commander Glenn Evans will stand trial this week on charges of aggravated battery and official misconduct in the capture of a suspect for allegedly putting a gun in a suspect’s mouth. The case will be tried without a jury.

Sounds like a mafia more than a police department, doesn’t it? Or… wait, can you even tell the difference anymore?

Force was sentenced to 78 months in prison after he pled guilty back in July.

Terrorism and Some Hard Truths - An Analysis by Lawrence Davidson

In my estimation there is no organization in the world, including ISIS, more dangerous to American society than the National Rifle Association which insists that we all still live in some variant of 19th century Tombstone, Arizona.

Much of the present breast-beating over Islamic terrorism is politically motivated exaggeration. Yet even here the U.S. government will not do much other than spy on its own citizens with ever greater intensity. To really make the U.S. safe from Middle East terrorism, Washington will have to dump Israel, play hardball with Saudi Arabia, and swear off the regime-change policy that has so disastrously driven its actions in Iraq, Libya and Syria.

War Is On The Horizon: Is It Too Late To Stop It?

Washington is not opposed to terrorism. Washington has been purposely creating terrorism for many years. Terrorism is a weapon that Washington intends to use to destabilize Russia and China by exporting it to the Muslim populations in Russia and China.

Washington is using Syria, as it used Ukraine, to demonstrate Russia’s impotence to Europe— and to China, as an impotent Russia is less attractive to China as an ally.

For Russia, responsible response to provocation has become a liability, because it encourages more provocation.

In other words, Washington and the gullibility of its European vassals have put humanity in a very dangerous situation, as the only choices left to Russia and China are to accept American vassalage or to prepare for war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The US government is hell bent on going to war because they want to use it as a distraction for the ever-contracting US economy, and misdirect peoples' anger at foreign governments, rather than having them focus on the messes DC and the Federal Reserve have created out of mismanagement, incompetence, and greed.

Most likely, the Constitution and Bill of Rights will be suspended when this war gets going, because far too many people are aware of the real reasons for this war, and this is the tactic the US government will use to silence them, if not with outright extrajudicial assassinations right here at home.

But there are some problems here which I truly wish the "adults in the room in DC" would really look at before making a final commitment to this war.

In Russia and China, there is a tacit agreement between weapons makers and the governments, that when weapons, planes, and ships are delivered, they perform according to spec the very first time they are deployed. Russia and China spend less, but get much more bang for their weapons buck than do their US military counterparts.

In the US, with the incestuous relationship between weapons manufacturers, lobbyists, and (alleged) Congressional representatives, weapons are frequently well behind schedule, over budget, and do not field deploy anywhere close to the manufacturers' hype, the first time they are deployed.

There is something in the American military-industrial culture which allows this to be perfectly acceptible when, for our men and women in uniform, it is absolutely NOT acceptible, when their lives are on the line, and they need weapons to work as advertised.

The other problems, as they effect the US, are that we do not have the money, the manufacturing, or the troop strength to insure a positive outcome to a war against Russia and/or China; this is why a military option is a really bad idea here.

And if you want to see how well NATO will perform, and understanding that past is prologue to the future, just take a look at its 14 years record with the occupation of Afghanistan; there is not one, single military metric by which this occupation can be characterised as a "success", ever.

Morgan Stanley's Holiday Present To 1,200 Of Its Best-Paid Employees: Pink Slips

While it will hardly come as a surprise to its employees (who were warned a week ago that 25% of all fixed income workers would lose their jobs in the immediate future) most had hoped that the bailed out bank would at least have the ethics to wait with the layoffs until after the new year, now just three weeks away.

It did not.

As Bloomberg reported moments ago, Morgan Stanley announced it would take a $150 million severance charge in the fourth quarter as the company pares back its fixed-income trading business to improve profitability. The charge will cover the cost of cutting 1,200 workers worldwide, including about 470 front-office employees in its fixed-income and commodities trading business, according to a person briefed on the matter.

NATO says won't send ground troops to fight IS: report

NATO has ruled out sending ground troops to fight against Islamic State militants in Syria, NATO General Secretary Jens Stoltenberg told a Swiss newspaper, stressing the need to bolster local forces in the conflict.

"The United States has a limited number of special forces. In the foreground, however, is strengthening local forces. This is not easy, but it's the only option," he added

Stoltenberg stressed that the conflict was not a war between the West and the Islamic world, but rather against "extremism and terrorism".

"Muslims are on the front line in this war. Most victims are Muslims, and most of those who fight against the IS are Muslims. We can not carry on this struggle for them," he said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sounds comforting and reasonable, doesn't it?!?

But what if (even in a false flag scenario), Turkey claims that it has been attacked by Russia, and invokes Article 5 of the NATO charter?

There would be no way that NATO could avoid ground troops at that point, and off we go to a war with Russia.

?The U.S. Government failed to deter them through threats of criminal prosecution, and clumsy attempts to intimidate their families.
Now four former Air Force drone operators-turned-whistleblowers have had their credit cards and bank accounts frozen, according to human rights attorney Jesselyn Radack.

“My drone operators went public this week and now their credit cards and bank accounts are frozen,” Radack lamented on her Twitter feed (the spelling of her post has been conventionalized). This was done despite the fact that none of them has been charged with a criminal offense – but this is a trivial formality in the increasingly Sovietesque American National Security State.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When the telling of the truth, even if it is embarrassing for the government, becomes criminalised, to the point of freezing the finances of the truth-tellers, it indicates the degree to which the government of the United States has gone straight-out fascistic.

Tyrants are trying to grab power worldwide …

For example, Turkey’s Erdogan has repealed free speech and rights, instituted fundamentalist Islam, and – according to many – is trying to re-institute the Ottoman Empire.

Japan’s Abe has also jettisoned free speech, re-instituted its military, and – according to some commentators – “the land of the rising sun is rising again.”

Many other political leaders all over the world are asserting authoritarian powers and cracking down on freedoms and legal protections.

Why is fascism on the march?

Webmaster's Commentary:

Every country, and civilisation, has a life cycle; unfortunately, due to decades of mismanagement and corruption, the US government is between a rock and a hard place, at the current moment of its life cycle.

The economy here is on the verge of collapse, and what the US government has done, consistently, when that happens, is to find a reason to wage war. This is why we are seeing such vitriol and demonisation aimed against countries like Russia, China, and Iran.

Lenin once observed that when American capitalism failed, it would go fascistic; unfortunately, he was absolutely correct.

From abysmal lies to "sell" endless wars to the American public; to the abysmal legislation curtailing freedom, known as the Patriot Act, the Homeland Security Act, and the NDAA; from alleged "free speech zones" to screaming for more draconian gun control; from "Common Core" which indoctrinates, but does not educate, or encourage critical thinking; to extrajudicial assassinations without due process; from torture not only on prisoners abroad, but also prisoners at home at Chicago's Homan Square Prison; to murky, almost subterranean return to "Code Napoleon" law, where suspects are presumed guilty; this country is traveling a very dark road right now.

It is now time for all Americans to have the courage to peacefully protest against all this by sharing what we know with whom we know. Telling the truth in an age of lies is an act of great bravery; but we must, because if we do not, the very foundations of the freedoms, liberties, and responsibilities upon which this nation was founded, may well disappear...forever.

On Monday, the price of U.S. oil dropped below 38 dollars a barrel for the first time in six years. The last time the price of oil was this low, the global financial system was melting down and the U.S. economy was experiencing the worst recession that it had seen since the Great Depression of the 1930s. As I write this article, the price of U.S. oil is sitting at $37.65. For months, I have been warning that the crash in the price of oil would be extremely deflationary and would have severe consequences for the global economy. Nations such as Japan, Canada, Brazil and Russia have already plunged into recession, and more than half of all major global stock market indexes are down at least 10 percent year to date. The first major global financial crisis since 2009 has begun, and things are only going to get worse as we head into 2016.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Some very intelligent people, with a very sharp eye for economic trends, have been predicting an economic crash, potentially on track to rival that of the great depression.

I know this has been kind of a leitmotif for my postings here at WRH, but in light of current economic circumstances, it bears repeating.

Please don't panic: PLAN.

Make sure you have long-term storable food, water purification, and extra medication for your household, and your pets.

Have a "bug out" plan for yourself and your family; make sure, if you have kids in school, make sure you know the protocol about them out if you see a real emergency coming.

Put into the bank only the amount of money you need to pay the bills, and keep the rest under your personal control.

Talk to friends and neighbors about what skills you all can barter with each other, if the US dollar becomes worthless.

It is not that an economic collapse won't be rough on all of us; but this kind of planning and preparation can make it less rough on you and the people you love and care about.

A $28,500 deposit was made to Syed Farook’s bank account from on or about Nov.18, some two weeks before he and his wife Tashfeen Malik carried out the San Bernardino massacre, a source close to the investigation told Fox News Monday.

Webmaster addition: This is the latest attempt to imply the guilt of the designated patsies. But the odd amount, $28,500, suggests some kind of payment or return on investment. Like the plumbing supplies or the ownership of guns, this is not proof of guilt unless and until they identify who sent the money and for what purpose, and even then it could be part of a frame-up. Sending someone money to make them look guilty is a common trick, so common it is even shown in movies like "Enemy of The State."

The Insidious Relationship between Washington and ISIS: The Evidence

Reports that US and British aircraft carrying arms to ISIS have been shot down by Iraqi forces have been met with shock and denial in western countries. Few in the Middle East doubt that Washington is playing a ‘double game’ with its proxy armies in Syria, but some key myths remain important amongst the significantly more ignorant western audiences.

A central myth is that Washington now arms ‘moderate Syrian rebels’, to both overthrow the Syrian Government and supposedly defeat the ‘extremist rebels’. This claim became more important in 2014, when the rationale of US aggression against Syria shifted from ‘humanitarian intervention’ to a renewal of Bush’s ‘war on terror’.

A distinct controversy is whether the al Qaeda styled groups (especially Jabhat al Nusra and ISIS) have been generated as a sort of organic reaction to the repeated US interventions, or whether they are actually paid agents of Washington.

The unavowable project for a pseudo-Kurdistan

Paris and London are multiplying their categorical declarations against Daesh, its programme of ethnic cleansing and its terrorist attacks. And yet they are preparing in secret for the ethnic cleansing of Northern Syria with a view to creating a pseudo-Kurdistan, and the re-localisation of Daesh to Al-Anbar in order to create a « Sunnistan » there. Thierry Meyssan analyses this plan, and underlines the numerous contradictions in the official discourse.

However, according to the experts of the Research Service of the Library of the House of Commons, this is entirely false. After a careful study of the legislation concerned, Arabella Lang states that the resolution in no way authorises the use of force, but enjoins everyone who has the legal possibility to do so to redouble their efforts [3]. This means that the resolution only applies to states which have been requested to intervene by Iraq and Syria.

California Begins Injecting Children with Mercury, State Safety Laws Nullified to Push Vaccines

California Health and Human Services Agency Secretary Diana S. Dooley has just cast aside a law intended to protect children from mercury in vaccines. In a letter dated October 9 (see full text below), Dooley is now urging all children in California to be injected with mercury — TWICE! — in the form of flu shots.

“I am granting a temporary exemption from California Health and Safety Code Section 124172 for seasonal influenza vaccine with trace levels of thimerosal to be administered to children younger than three years from October 9, 2015 through December 31, 2015, because the current supply of thimerosal-free vaccine for young children is inadequate,” declares Dooley. (Thimerosal always contains mercury. When I tested mercury concentrations in influenza vaccines using ICP-MS instrumentation in my laboratory, results showed mercury at over 50,000 ppb — about 25,000 times higher than what the EPA allows in drinking water.)

Greeks told to declare cash “under the mattress,” jewelry and precious stones

When earlier today we read a report in the Greek Enikonomia, according to which Greek taxpayers would be forced to declare all cash “under the mattress” (including inside) or boxes that contain more than 15,000 euros as well as jewelry and precious stones (including gold) worth over 30,000 euros, starting in 2016, we assumed this has to be some early April fools joke or a mistake.

Scientist Uncovered Problems With Pesticides. Then the Government Started to Make His Life Miserable.

Until fairly recently, Jonathan Lundgren enjoyed a stellar career as a government scientist. An entomologist who studies how agrichemicals affect the ecology of farm fields, he has published nearly 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals since starting at the US Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Research Service laboratory in Brookings, South Dakota, in 2005. By 2012, he had won the ARS's "Outstanding Early Career Research Scientist" award, and directorship of his own lab.
But recently, things have changed. His work has "triggered an official campaign of harassment, hindrance, and retaliation" from his superiors, Lundgren alleged in an official complaint filed with USDA scientific integrity authorities last year. Lundgren made the battle with his USDA superiors public in October, two months after the agency imposed a 14-day without-pay suspension on him.

Yikes! United Nations, U.S. Federal Govt, & Canadian Govt reading About The "Three Tall Athletic White Men In Military Attire" Who Shot Up San Bernardino

Keep it up folks! Keep spreading this story and bombarding the social media accounts of the innocent San Bernardino community, as well as the Facebook page of the Inland Regional Center. After all, they have the most to gain by exposure of this false flag. As I've written in the past, when a story is this hot and controversial, the policy is the publish the list of government and law enforcement agencies who are crawling all over our site - in the interest of transparency. Below are the IPS log visits. By the way, just for the record, I am not and have never been suicidal - I'm financially successful, content with life, and a devout Catholic who would never harm myself or anyone else, unless it was self defense. This story is NOT GOING AWAY. GOT IT FEDS?

Obama acknowledges California attack was act of terrorism, confident US military will defeat extremists

President Obama on Sunday night acknowledged that the U.S. is "at war with terrorism" following a series of deadly terror attacks on American soil and around the world, and sought to assure Americans that the growing global terror threat will be defeated.

Obama spoke four days after terrorists apparently associated with ISIS fatally shot 14 people and wounded 21 more in San Bernardino, Calif. Those attacks came 19 days after a series of shootings and suicide bombings in Paris killed 130.

"This was an act of terrorism designed to kill innocent people," Obama said of the San Bernardino shooting in his first Oval Office address since 2010. "I am confident we will succeed in this mission because we are on the right side of history."

Webmaster's Commentary:

"...on the right side of history."; REALLY, Mr. President?!?

There is another phrase about history which I wish you truly understood, and that is, those who refuse to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

I have a multi-faceted approach to eliminating all threats to the US and its assets overseas, which I am very modestly proposing to you.

First, the US government has to cease and desist from expropriating resources from other countries to which it has absolutely no moral right, in order to fatten the coffers of corporations.

Secondly, the US needs to invest in creating an alternative energy resource that works to power tanks, jets, and whole cities; that way, fossil fuel becomes obsolete, and the Middle East can destroy itself under the weight of its own regional rivalries, and we are not beholden to such "beacons of democracy", such as Saudi Arabia, for our fuel.

And BTW, Mr. President; speaking of Saudi Arabia, how is the US government's militarily enabling Saudi Arabia against the Yemenite people, who threw Al-Hadi out, and were trying to form their own government "on the right side of history"?!?

I really would love an explanation of this, thank you very much, and think the American people deserve this!!

We should take all the money we are investing in wars of conquest, and instead, invest it rebuilding our manufacturing, and agricultural exports other countries actually want to buy.

Third, the US government has to stop enabling and supporting tin-pot dictators because they are "our thugs". It has become painfully apparent to Americans, and the world, that the US government only supports human rights, freedom, and democracy when it doesn't "get in the way of doing business."

Al Hadi, formerly, in Yemen and the Al-Khalifa monarchy in Bahrain are two, glaring examples of the kinds of country leadership the US government should not be supporting, as they are dictatorial, corrupt, and absolutely not listening to their people.

People do not become radicalized because their governments are transparent, and actually listening to their needs and concerns, and are acting accordingly.

People do not become radicalized because their leadership is not corrupt.

They do not become radicalized because they are making a decent wage, can take care of themselves and their families.

People become radicalized because their daily life experience is the absolute, polar opposite of what I have described above. And the late President Kennedy said it best: "When peaceful revolution is impossible, violent revolution is inevitable."

And lastly, Mr. President, Americans understand that the alleged "war on terror" is an outright fraud, and is actually a "war on people" who have the temerity to live on top of, and adjacent to, resources the US government wants to expropriate; it is just that simple, period, end of discussion.

Can a French Friar End the 21st-Century Slave Trade?

Xavier Plassat is a friar of the Dominican order, a Frenchman who has worked for decades in the Brazilian Amazon and is renowned for his fight against slavery as it exists in our time. Modern slavery differs from classic chattel slavery, in which people are held as private property, but to the extent that it treats people as tools to be used and discarded, it is nearly as brutal and degrading. Currently it affects perhaps 20 million people, and probably many more. Relatively few are women tricked into prostitution; a greater number, men and women alike, are manual laborers in forests, fields, and factories, or at sea. It is possible to get caught up in the technicalities of definition. Those who rely on slaves for labor want as narrow a definition of “slavery” as possible. Brazil officially recognizes a broad definition, and for that reason it has made more progress against slavery than similar countries have.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This story reminds me that, in spite of the mess and ugliness in this world, there are people willing to lay down their lives, if they have to, for what is good and moral.

These people deserve to be celebrated, and emulated, in our lives.

Some Questions For Inland Regional Center And The Scores Of Witnesses To The San Bernardino Shooting

The establishment is desperately trying to enact tyrannical 'anti-terrorism' measures in the wake of the San Bernardino, CA shooting at Inland Regional Center. But those who have studied it have found many very shady details which deserve answers. Witness Sally Abdelmageed, who works at the Inland Regional Center and witnessed the shooting was interviewed live via telephone by CBS Evening News the day the massacre happened. She repeatedly stated that "We saw three men dressed in military attire." She repeated that it was THREE WHITE MEN. The Inland Regional Center has a very active Facebook page right now. This presents a very good opportunity. Not only will they be forced to address uncomfortable yet important issues, but the public at large, the locals in San Bernardino, will see the all the activity on Facebook and will be awakened to this latest false-flag SCAM. The community of San Bernardino itself will benefit most from shedding the light on all this.

A Majority Of Americans Support Sending Ground Troops To Fight ISIS

As President Barack Obama took the podium to reassure the nation of his commitment to defeating the Islamic State, also referred to as ISIS or ISIL, in a rare oval office address on Sunday, a CNN/ORC poll released the same night shows that Americans have grown increasingly frustrated with the U.S. fight against the terrorist group and have shifted in favor of sending ground troops to Iraq and Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I really have to wonder; were they push-polling, where they know in advance how those polled will respond; polling the criminally insane, or Common Core graduates?!?

The geopolitical ramifications, both at home and abroad, of such actions are staggering, and demonstrate how those polled are incapable of any critical thinking whatsoever, and do not have the ability to think a scenario through to its logical conclusion.

Yes, they walk among us! And they vote!!

A large contingent of troops deployed into either Syria or Iraq will be an act of war against those two countries.

Syria has invited Russia to deal with all of the jihadists there (including those trained, funded, and equipped by the US), and Russia is doing an incredible job with this.

The US government has not been asked, or invited to do so.

A war against Syria may well mean a war with Russia.

At this point, the US military does not have the money, the manufacturing, or the troop strength to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war against Russia; and that is one of the things which makes a "troops on the ground" scenario so scarily dangerous.

And with regard to Iraq, PLEASE does ANYONE, beside me, remember the Iranian Cleric, Muqtada Al Sadr?

This was the founder of the Mahdi Army in Iraq, and the gentleman who stated, very clearly, that if the US did not honor its departure date, outlined by the SOFA agreement with Iraq, that all US military would be considered "fair game" for his militia?!?

If the US re-invades Iraq, which it appears it is going to do, even though Iraq's Prime Minister has labeled it a "violation of national sovereignty", just how long do you think it will take Al Sadr to "get the band back together"?!?

The short answer is, probably not long at all.

The US has never been attacked by either Syria or Iraq; Iraq NEVER had weapons of mass destruction; that was a lie to sell that war to the American people.

The lies to sell the US the next wars continue unabated, but they have one source, and that is strictly economic.

The US wants all the oil produced in Syria and Iraq produced by western-centric companies, and sold only in the US dollar. The US wants to topple Al-Assad to destabilise Iran.

The yuan has been approved by the IMF last week to become part of the international trading currencies; Russia's economy is in the ascendent, despite sanctions against it.

Is the US government looking at wars with both China and Russia to protect the petrodollar?!?

Resisting the New World Order (NWO) War Against All of Humanity Video by Sean M. Madden

Sean Madden’s talk regarding the New World Order agenda is worthy of a listen. The main thesis throughout his talk revolves around the concept that we are and have been deeply immersed in a global or world conflict for well over a century now; one contrived and headed by the Zionist forces which have been operating behind the curtains of media and academia and banking and government covers well before the creation of the US Federal Reserve in 1913.

What in the World has Happened to the American People?

Like others in my generation, I remember proudly the response of the American people to the war in Vietnam. I remember the marches, the sit-ins, the protests. I remember the small Midwestern liberal arts college I first attended deciding to shut itself down as its students readied to pour into the nation’s capital and I remember being tear gassed in Berkeley.

Vietnam pales in magnitude when compared with the military actions launched by the US since the turn of the century. Since 2000, US troops have fought in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya and Syria.

War, no longer an anomaly, has become common fare.

The virulence of the US government is increasingly evident towards its own people. In certain arenas, and against certain kinds of people, the US has become brutally aggressive against its own citizens.

Defense Contractors Cite “Benefits” of Escalating Conflicts in the Middle East

Major defense contractors Raytheon, Oshkosh, and Lockheed Martin assured investors at a Credit Suisse conference in West Palm Beach this week that they stand to gain from the escalating conflicts in the Middle East.

Lockheed Martin Executive Vice President Bruce Tanner told the conference his company will see “indirect benefits” from the war in Syria, citing the Turkish military’s recent decision to shoot down a Russian warplane.

The incident, Tanner said, heightens the risk for U.S. military operations in the region, providing “an intangible lift because of the dynamics of that environment and our products in theater.” He also stressed that the Russian intervention would highlight the need for Lockheed Martin-made F-22s and the new F-35 jets.

And for “expendable” products, such as a rockets, Tanner added that there is increased demand, including from the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia because of the war in Yemen.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would concur with Tanner, that war, of course, boosts the military-industrial complex's profits.

The problem here is that there is zero morality about who gets sold these weapons, and the number of innocent people who die from them.

And it begs the other, very critical question, which is, has the US government become incapable of hard, good faith negotiations to achieve its geopolitical objectives?!? Unfortunately, the short answer is, yes.

The only casualty of an hours-long SWAT raid and hostage situation in Neenah, Wisconsin was a disabled veteran who had filed a $50 million civil rights suit after he survived a similar SWAT raid three years ago.

Michael Funk, a co-owner of Eagle Nation Cycles, was shot and killed by police after being held hostage for several hours on December 5. Police evacuated several buildings and closed down an entire street in the city, which is located about 40 miles south of Green Bay.

“Mike worked there,” observed attorney Cole White, who had represented him in his lawsuit against the City of Neenah and its police department. “Mike was a hostage … not a suspect, he was not involved criminally. He was a hostage that was taken at gunpoint by this maniac.”

A little-noticed provision in the highway funding bill Congress passed this week threatens a right most Americans take for granted: the right to travel abroad. The provision in question gives the Internal Revenue Service the authority to revoke the passport of anyone the IRS claims owes more than $50,000 in back taxes.

Congress is giving the IRS this new power because a decline in gas tax receipts has bankrupted the federal highway trust fund. Of course, Congress would rather squeeze more money from the American people than reduce spending, repeal costly regulations, or return responsibility for highway construction to the states, local governments, and the private sector. On the other hand, most in Congress fear the political consequences of raising gas, or other, taxes. Giving the IRS new powers allows politicians to increase government revenue without having to increase tax rates. Some even brag about how they are “cracking down on tax cheats.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would like it if someone could prove to me that the 16th Amendment to the Constitution was ever truly ratified, which it never was.

All you have to do is look at the case of Sullivan vs/ The United State of America to understand what has happened here.

Webmaster addition: I have to wonder at the thought processes going on in Washington DC. First they send the high paying jobs to other countries, so Americans who did those jobs get into financial trouble and cannot afford to pay both taxes and keep a roof over their head, THEN the government locks those people inside the country so they can't move to the other countries to get those high paying jobs back in the hopes of paying off their debts. The end result is the money still isn't there to grab, and the US is locking in a large and rapidly growing domestic population for whom their only possible solution is the end of the Federal Government!

These fascists don't seem to think these things all the through!

A Detroit teenager is suing police in federal court after being wrongfully jailed for 40 days over a snowball.

Dominique Rondeau thought he would have some fun with the other kids after school by throwing snowballs. In Police State USA, however, even this immortal pastime can get you thrown in jail.

One of those icy snowballs from the crowd hit the windshield of a police car parked at East English Village High School, in just the right way to shatter it. Although officers Floyd Jenkins and Freddie Wilson did not see who threw the snowball, they looked at security camera footage and fingered Rondeau for the “crime.”

Later that day of December 16, 2013, they would nab Rondeau from his home and put him in juvenile detention for nearly 40 days under a charge of destroying police property.

“They knocked. I cracked the big door open to see who it was … They opened the (screen) door, and they just walked in, and they started putting me in handcuffs,” according to Rondeau.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am glad this kid and his family are fighting back, and will hopefully win their case against these officers.

How gun control works in America, compared with 4 other rich countries

After Wednesday's mass shooting in San Bernardino, California, Americans are once again left wondering why these events seem to occur much more often in the US than other developed nations. And it's not just mass shootings: In general, the US has much more gun violence than its developed peers.

Dec 07 10:04

Why mass shootings don't convince gun owners to support gun control

This betrays a fundamental misunderstanding of the cognitive and emotional dynamics at work. It presumes that mass shootings constitute an argument against guns, to be weighed against arguments in their favor. But to gun enthusiasts, mass shootings are not arguments against guns but for them. The rise in mass shootings is only convincing both sides that they're right, causing them to dig in further.

The history of American prison visitations are a mix of racism ("black men, denied sex, will riot in jail") and compassion -- especially the late 1960s' ground-breaking, multi-day family visitation programs that allowed prisoners to play and live with their children for a whole weekend a few times every year.
But when Bill Clinton created his racist "southern strategy" -- which imposed flamboyantly cruel minimum sentences for minor infractions, and stripped the prison system of any vestige of compassion or rehabilitation -- he set in motion the process by which prisoners' ability to stay connected to their families would be eroded, and, eventually, taken away altogether in most of the country.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The American penal system is totally insane, and creates an absolutely astounding recidivism rate.

In Sweden, they are closing prisons, because they don't have enough prisoners to fill them; the focus is completely on rehabilitation and re-integration with society after they have served their time.

The comparison between the Swedish model of incarceration and the American model of incarceration is really striking, because the Swedish model achieves its goals, while the American model fails, both deliberately and horrifically.

Whether jails are publicly or privately funded in this country, American taxpayers need to demand better outcomes from them that are, ultimately, less costly than the results being achieved now, and can lead to intelligent rehabilitation and re-integration of criminals into society.

"Political identity is fair game for hatred": how Republicans and Democrats discriminate

In 1960, Americans were asked whether they would be pleased, displeased, or unmoved if their son or daughter married a member of the other political party.

Justice Department will investigate practices of Chicago police

The Justice Department plans to launch an investigation into the patterns and practices of the Chicago Police Department, a wide-ranging review similar to those that scrutinized the police departments in Ferguson, Mo., and Baltimore, according to several law enforcement officials.
