'Always Listening' - Amazon's Alexa Stores Everything You Say To It; Here's How To Delete

If you're one of the millions of people who own a device with Amazon Alexa, the company's mobile spying device helpful personal assistant, whatever you say may be recorded - especially if someone in the house is named Alexis, Alex, or Lexi.

According to Amazon's Alexa terms of use, the company collects and stores most of what you say to Alexa - including the geolocation of the product along with your voice instructions, reports CNBC's Todd Haselton.

Your messages, communication requests (e.g., "Alexa, call Mom"), and related instructions are "Alexa interactions," as described in the Alexa Terms of Use. Amazon processes and retains your Alexa Interactions and related information in the cloud in order to respond to your requests (e.g., "Send a message to Mom"), to provide additional functionality (e.g., speech to text transcription and vice versa), and to improve our services. -Amazon Terms of Use

Trump administration hawks putting US on course for war with Iran, report warns

Donald Trump has surrounded himself with hardliners in his administration who have openly called for bombing Iran and carrying out regime change, says a new report, which also warns of the possibility of a military confrontation being engineered through provocative action.

Senior members of the US administration, which has pulled out of the nuclear deal with Tehran unilaterally, have vocalised its desire to destroy the agreement and cripple the Iranian economy in the process, the document prepared by the National Iranian American Council (NIAC) points out.

The report holds, however, that there is a chance of averting a violent scenario following the American midterm elections, which have given the Democrats control of the House of Representatives. There are Republicans as well as Democrats who are wary of the hawkish approach of some of Mr Trump’s advisers, and a bipartisan approach may pave the way for the deal to be saved and even for Washington to rejoin it in the future.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Whoever put this report together has no real grasp of American geopolitics, and what outside players largely create its foreign policies, particularly for the Middle East.

When it comes to foreign interventions, DC is a "one-party town"; that of the warmongers.

Democrats and Republicans will all band together on this one, and for one, un-named reason; that is the monumental impact both AIPAC and Israel hold over American politics.

IF Israel and AIPAC want this war to go forward, trust me, no matter who is on what side of the Aisle, Congress will confirm this in absolute lock step; to not have AIPAC's and Israel's support means you either won't get into the House or Senate, or if you do, it will be for one term only.

American politicians understand this; not going Israel and AIPAC's way is the KOD (kiss of death) for American politicians, sort of like ingesting a large gulp of geopolitical Kryptonite.

I am very concerned at seeing this move forward, which I believe it most probably will, after the turn of the first of next year.

Russia and China may well come in on Iran's side; and right now, the US military doesn't have the weaponry; the money; the troop strength, or the manufacturing to insure a positive result from a conventional war against Iran.

The IAEA (comprised of some very bright, capable people) is still attesting to the reality that Iran is still abiding by the rules of the P5+1.

That the US has withdrawn from it is a first salvo toward a war against it.

Were I a betting person, I would not bet against the resurrection of the Draft in this country, in advance of such a move.

But one thing DC needs to hear and understand, is this; Israel wants this war conducted ONLY... at the costs of American blood... and American money.

School: Teacher bullied students who refused to stand for pledge—by thanking students who did stand

A St. Louis-area school district accused a longtime substitute teacher of bullying students who refused to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance — because he thanked students in class who did stand for the pledge, KTVI-TV reported.
Say what?
“The PA announcer says, ‘Please rise for the Pledge of Allegiance.’ I say, ‘Let’s go,’” Jim Furkin recounted to the station, placing his hand over his heart. “The kids get up … 24 kids in class; 22 got up … I say, ‘Thank you very much all of you that participated. I appreciate that. And I’m sure all of those families that lost loved ones so that we could have the freedoms that we have today would appreciate that, too.’ And that’s what I said.”

US Navy hospital ship anchors in Colombia, provides care to Venezuelan refugees. Caracas is upset.

A U.S. Navy hospital ship anchored off the Colombian coast has begun providing free medical care for Colombians as well as Venezuelan refugees who’ve escaped their country amid turmoil.
The USNS Comfort’s recent arrival in the port city of Turbo could cause additional tensions between Washington, D.C., and Caracas, Venezuela, where officials have denied the country’s humanitarian crisis, The Guardian reported.
“The deployment reflects the United States’ enduring promise of friendship, partnership and solidarity with the Americas,” the U.S. Southern Command wrote in a statement describing the mission.

Saudis Agree To Yemen Peace Talks - Ceasefire In Effect For First Time Since War's Start

The prospect for peace - or at least a lasting ceasefire - is advancing rapidly following a surprise weekend proposal by Yemen's Houghis to halt all attacks on Saudi coalition forces. On Sunday the head of Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi Supreme Revolutionary Committee Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, said "We are willing to freeze and stop military operations" — something which now appears to have taken effect, according to a breaking Reuters report.

In the biggest turning point in the war which has raged since 2015, Reuters confirms:

Houthi rebels in Yemen said on Monday they were halting drone and missile attacks on Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and their Yemeni allies, responding to a demand from the United Nations.

TRUMP WAS RIGHT: Jerry Brown Eased California Logging Rules Back In August

Months ago, California Gov. Jerry Brown urged state lawmakers to loosen restrictive logging regulations put in place to appease environmentalists -- a move that appears to have confirmed that President Trump's recent critiques of state logging practices was correct.

The Santa Cruz Sentinel reported back in August that Brown was proposing one of the most significant changes to the state's logging rules in nearly half a century.

"Gov. Jerry Brown is proposing broad new changes to California’s logging rules that would allow landowners to cut larger trees and build temporary roads without obtaining a permit as a way to thin more forests across the state," the paper reported.

Environmentalists in California weren't on board. They've been pushing for years to make California's logging rules more restrictive, not less -- but forest fires in recent years appeared to change the calculus for certain lawmakers

WATCH: INNOCENT GRANDMA JAILED FOR MONTHS BECAUSE COPS MISTOOK COTTON CANDY FOR METH

An innocent grandma, Dasha Fincher, was kidnapped by police and thrown in a cage for months—not because she did anything wrong—but because police couldn’t tell the difference between cotton candy and meth. Now, this innocent new grandma is going after the police who did this to her as well as the company who manufacturers the dangerously inaccurate tests cops used to take her freedom.

As Fincher noted, Deputy Cody Maples and Deputy Kevin Williams asked her what was in the bag. When she told them it was cotton candy, they did not believe her. According to the incident report, these expert drug recognition officers claimed that “based on the packaging and crystal like feature, Corporal Williams tested the substance.”

The officers then used the highly faulty field test kits which have been known to produce false positives—repeatedly. Predictably, the cotton candy falsely tested positive for drugs.

Venezuela's exiled justice department calls for Interpol arrest of Maduro and 18 years for corruption

Venezuela's justice department in exile has requested an international arrest warrant, also known as a red notice, for Venezuela's president, Nicolás Maduro.

The Supreme Tribunal of Justice in exile accused Maduro of corruption in a letter to Jürgen Stock, the secretary-general of Interpol, dated on Monday.

The exiled department, which calls itself the Legitimate TSJ, was established in 2017 amid a constitutional change.

It said that Maduro accepted, directly or indirectly, funds from illegal activity and called for 18 years and three months in jail.

"As a result of the aforementioned, this Plenary Chamber considered it appropriate to request that Interpol issue a red notice for Nicolás Maduro Moros for the purposes of international cooperation on common crimes for the apprehension of the above-mentioned subject," said the letter, which was addressed from Coral Gables, Florida.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Interesting timing here.

Just a few days ago, President Trump was floating the concept of declaring Venezuela as "a state sponsor of terror" President preparing to Label Venezuela as a "state sponsor of terror"

This classification gives the President more room as to what military/economic actions he can take, against such an alleged "state sponsor of terrorism".

And is this letter to Interpol has been mailed from Coral Gables Florida?!?

Wait a minute: Didn't Maduro claim that the attempted assassination against him came from disgruntled Venezuelans living in Florida?!? Maduro Blames Florida residents in Assassination Attempt

Were I Maduro right now, I would be definitely be wearing my Kevlar undies at this moment. It looks like something huge may be coming down in the not too distant future for Venezuela, perhaps timed during the Thanksgiving holiday, when Americans are distracted with food and football.

Huge crowds and long lines form as Massachusetts begins selling recreational weed, making it the first state east of the Mississippi to do so

More than two years after voters in Massachusetts approved of recreational marijuana for adults, they finally have the chance to buy it legally.

On Tuesday morning, scores of eager pot fans turned up as the state's first commercial marijuana shops opened at 8am in Leicester and Northampton.

In Leicester, traffic jams formed and would-be weed smokers had to be brought in by shuttle in groups from a satellite parking lot to prevent a stampede.

Cultivate Holdings, the Leicester dispensary, brought in heated tents, portable toilets, and even a food truck to make the lengthy wait in line more bearable.

INSIDE THE BRITISH ARMY'S SECRET INFORMATION WARFARE MACHINE

Explaining their work, the soldiers used phrases I had heard countless times from digital marketers: “key influencers", “reach", “traction". You normally hear such words at viral advertising studios and digital research labs. But the skinny jeans and wax moustaches were here replaced by the crisply ironed shirts and light patterned camouflage of the British Army. Their surroundings were equally incongruous – the 77th’s headquarters were a mix of linoleum flooring, long corridors and swinging fire doors. More Grange Hill than Menlo Park. Next to a digital design studio, soldiers were having a tea break, a packet of digestives lying open on top of a green metallic ammo box. Another sign on the wall declared, “Behavioural change is our USP [unique selling point]”. What on Earth was happening?

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF the Brits are out there, "digitally"marketing" wars and military campaigns, we, in the Peace Movement, need to be marketing the case for peace ever more gently and intelligently than ever.

GOOGLE AND FACEBOOK ARE GOBBLING UP THE INTERNET'S SUBSEA CABLES

More than 5,700 kilometres of the Atlantic Ocean separate the coastlines of France and Virginia. But in 2020 they will be directly connected for the first time by the Dunant submarine cable which will boost internet capacity between Europe and the east coast of the US.

When Dunant becomes operational it will join more than 428 submarine cables, spanning thousands of kilometres, that makeup the backbone of the internet. But this cable is unlike any other.

Named after the Henry Dunant, the founder of the Red Cross and winner of the first Nobel Peace Prize, the cable is owned by Google. It's the first transatlantic submarine cable that has been privately financed and deployed by one of the big tech firms.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This acquisition and building of sub-sea cables, will give Google even more control over content; be able to offer it to the highest bidder, and suppress independent media even more than it already does through its algorithms.

Remember what happened in pre-World War II, right after Hitler came to power in Germany??!?

He established control of all German media. He could spin any story in any direction he wanted, and did so with impunity.

FORD CEO FRANKLY ADMITS THAT THE CAR OF THE FUTURE IS A SURVEILLANCE DEVICE THAT YOU PAY TO SPY ON YOU

But the dream of extractive rentierism still haunts the managerial classes.

Take Ford CEO Jim Hackett, whose recent Freakonomics Radio appearance celebrated his company's shift from a car business to a debt-issuance business, with Ford Credit now accounting for a third of the company's profits. Hackett vowed to increase that share by using the leverage he could exert over his debtors to force them to let him spy on them (for example, by doubling down on GM's car radio surveillance), and then cross-referencing this data on the data borrowers are forced to supply in order to buy their cars, and with data-sets from corporate acquisitions like the scooter company Spin.

AMERICANS TURNING ON SOCIAL MEDIA, MOST THINK IT HURTS DEMOCRACY: POLL

U.S. adults have begun to turn on social media giants like Facebook and Twitter, and a majority believes that these social media platforms have done more to hurt democracy and free speech than help.

Last year, 43 percent of U.S. adults thought social media hurt society, but that increased to 57 percent in 2018, according to an Axios poll conducted through mid November.

Both Democrats and Republicans have soured on social media, as Republicans have claimed censorship of conservative voices, and Democrats have complained about the use of targeted ads that they say can be used to discriminate against minorities.

Nine percent more Democrats believe social media hurts free speech than last year, and 17 percent more Republicans feel that way, the poll said.

WITH SAUDIS’ GLOBAL BACKERS BACKING AWAY, YEMENI FACTIONS PREPARE FOR PEACE TALKS

Peace in Yemen could not come at a more crucial time. Yemeni factions are preparing for peace talks in Sweden at the end of November while Saudi Arabia faces intense scrutiny and pressure from its Western allies, as well as possible action from the United Nations Security Council, for leaving nearly 22 million Yemenis requiring urgent humanitarian aid at the mercy of the famine and disease that the Saudi-led coalition has leveraged as weapons of war.

As of July, the coalition’s war against Yemen had killed or injured 37,896 civilians, according to Yemen’s Legal Center for Rights and Development, which tracks civilian casualties. Since then, casualties have skyrocketed by 168 percent as a result primarily of the coalition’s bombardment of the densely populated port city of Hodeida.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Fingers crossed here; perhaps Khashoggi did not die in vain, if the eyes of the world are now focused on Saudi Arabia's and the US's war crimes in Yemen.

US AIRSTRIKES KILL AT LEAST 40, MOSTLY CIVILIANS, IN EASTERN SYRIA

Continuing weeks of near-daily civilian death tolls from the US air war in Eastern Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has reported that Saturday’s US attacks killed 40 more people, overwhelmingly civilians. The victims were described as mostly women and children.

Saturday’s attacks were against the village of Abu al-Hassan, along the Iraq border. It is adjacent to the ISIS-held towns that the US has been mostly attacking in recent weeks, and which Kurdish ground troops are attempting to invade.

The Syrian Observatory said it was unclear if any of the men killed in the attacks were actually militants, but that 17 children and 12 women were confirmed among the slain. In general, these attacks have targeted residential areas, not militants.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, a word, please; the collective assassination of innocents is a war crime, sir.

SAUDI FOREIGN MINISTER SAYS CIA ASSESSMENT ON KHASHOGGI MURDER IS FALSE

Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister said on Tuesday that claims, including by the CIA, that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman gave the order to kill journalist Jamal Khashoggi were false, according to an Arabic-language newspaper interview, Reuters reports.

News outlets, including Reuters, reported the CIA’s finding over the weekend in a case that has sparked an international outcry against the world’s top oil exporter. This was the most definitive U.S. assessment to date tying Saudi Arabia’s de facto ruler directly to the killing and contradicted Saudi government assertions that he was not involved.

“We in the kingdom know that such allegations about the crown prince have no basis in truth and we categorically reject them, whether through leaks or not,” Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir was quoted as saying in Saudi-owned Al Sharq Al Awsat newspaper in the first Saudi official comment on the CIA report.

Webmaster's Commentary:

We have two potential narratives here; either Prince Salman did order the hit, or he did not.

IF he did not order the hit, who in the Saudi royal family would have done that, to destabilize the Crown Prince's government; thought they could get away with it;, and be in contention for the title of Crown Prince if Bin Salman got sacked by his dad?!?

The House of Saud does not like its "dirty laundry" to be aired in public; Jamal Khashoggi most likely had no shortage of enemies would would have liked to have seen him murdered. But for Prince Bin Salman to have had this done in broad daylight, in the Saudi Consulate in Turkey?!?

There is still a great deal of evidence which has not yet been allowed to come forward from the Turkish authorities; I would like to hope that will change shortly.

THE ONLY REGIME CHANGE THAT IS NEEDED IS IN WASHINGTON

But my vote for the most magnificent nut in an Administration that is overflowing with such talent would be the esteemed United States Special Representative for Syria Engagement James Jeffrey. The accolade is in part due to the fact that Jeffrey started out relatively sane as a career diplomat with the State Department, holding ambassadorships in Iraq, Turkey, and Albania. He had to work hard to become as demented as he now is but was helped along the way by signing on as a visiting fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP), which is a spin-off of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears to me, that my brother and sister Americans are back to a status quo ante, a status of feudal vassals, as we were before the American revolution.

And why do I say this?

Although this can be expressed as a grasp of the in-your-face obvious, the cold, hard reality that the government is only responsive to the already monied, to and certain foreign governments, Israel being among the worst offenders, in terms of having very effectively hijacked American foreign policy to their own ends.

What is great for Israel, is not at all necessarily good for We the People.

Yes, there are moments when a common good for both countries align; but in the world of the 21st century, those moments are consistently fewer and farther between, particularly when comes to the Zionist vision of "Eretz Israel", which means carving off hunks of adjacent countries to perfect and achieve that vision.

The maps tell the story:

Current map of Israel

Map: Eretz Israel

Notice the hunks of Iraq, Syria, Saudia Arabia, Jordan,Lebanon, Egypt and Iraq which will have to be conquered by Israel in order for this "vision" of Eretz Israel to be achieved?!?

It is no accident that Israel cheered for the US invasion and occupation of Iraq; it is no accident that they have cheered the illegal and unwanted US military actions against Syria, including funding and arming the jihadists against the government; it is no accident that they have started the "political rapprochement" process with Saudi Arabia, which they are hoping to use as a proxy force against Iran, working with the US military, as they have been doing in Yemen; and it is no accident that Israel fully expects the US to go to war against Iran for it.

But as always with Israel, these "wins" are only to be purchased primarily at the cost of American blood, and American money.

I look at the media buys the military has been doing lately, with a lot of saturation ads, to encourage our young men and women to join; but the US military is in one horrifically awful dilemma right now.

They don't have the troop strength; the weaponry; the manufacturing (outsourced in the 80s, to make way for the alleged "service economy")or the money to insure a successful outcome to a conventional war against Russia and/or China.

With the mid-terms over, before there is a war against Russia, China, and/or Iran, I would not bet against the re-institution of the draft, coupled with continuing demonization of Russia, China, and Iran.

Please remember the following reality, as stated on Google:

"Virtually all male U.S. citizens, regardless of where they live, and male immigrants, whether documented or undocumented, residing in the United States, who are 18 through 25, are required to register with Selective Service. The law says men must register with Selective Service within 30 days of their 18th birthday."

RUSSIAN MILITARY INTRODUCES OBLIGATORY COURSES TO PROTECT STATE SECRETS

The Russian Defense Ministry is set to educate officers and soldiers on how to behave online in order to protect state-level secrets. The military also intends to tighten legislation punishing leakers of sensitive data.
The military will launch obligatory courses on the protection of state secrets starting next year, Izvestia newspaper reported, citing the ministry’s press service. The servicemen are set to get insights into what they are allowed to post on the internet, how to use social media safely, what should – and should not – be told to strangers, and other guidance.

The courses will be obligatory for all the servicemen, despite the majority of soldiers not even having clearance for state secrets. Personnel lacking clearance will actually get longer lectures on the matter, since others have already undertaken obligatory secrecy training.

UN refugee agency slashes budget deficit despite US cuts

The UN Relief and Work Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) on Monday said it managed to slash its budget deficit despite US funding cuts earlier this year.

WikiLeaks' Julian Assange Indictment: Another Reminder That US Is Against Press Freedom

However, the Trump administration officials are having none of it. They announce sanctions against governmental bodies or private companies for allegedly "having engaged in censorship or other activities that prohibit, limit, or penalize freedom of expression”. But when it comes to their own record, they behave differently.

They are now launching notoriously aggressive attacks on press freedoms and are in no mood to recognize this critical principle when it comes to WikiLeaks. They seek to criminally charge Assange and WikiLeaks for publishing classified information, although it goes against the press freedom guarantee of the First Amendment and poses a severe threat to press freedom.

Why Does America Have 13 Million Households That Don’t Have Enough Food To Eat?

Have you ever had a day when your children were crying due to hunger but the cupboards were completely bare and your bank account was empty? If you haven’t, you should consider yourself to be extremely blessed, because this is what real life feels like for millions upon millions of Americans in 2018. As you will see below, a third of all Americans cannot even afford “the basics” each month, and 13 million households are officially considered to be “food insecure”. In other words, they don’t have enough to eat. Many parents out there choose to skip a meal (or two) each day just so that their kids can have full stomachs. But sometimes the money runs out completely, and that is when it gets really tough.

If you ask QAnon cultists, it’s because Donald Trump is planning to extradite Assange so as to rescue him and deal a fatal blow to the Deep State. If you ask people who actually know what they’re talking about, however, it’s most likely for WikiLeaks’ Afghanistan and Iraq war logs and/or last year’s CIA leak publications, and most likely using the Espionage Act. Why Society Hates Men - MGTOW

The problem with western society playing the identity politics game is that it's quite hard to get men to play that game. Men aren't generally willing to play those games unless they are weak cucks looking to get laid by feminists and passing down their weak genes because they can't do it by competing with masculine men. The soviets tried to be sneaky when it comes to tricking men into identity politics by saying that workers were being oppressed by the bourgeoisie. The workers of course were mostly men. So lumping men together as oppressed workers got men to work towards building the soviet union. The west of course provided its workers a better standard of life and communism crumbled. As men we are for the most part individualistic and competitive. Capitalism works best for hard working, inventive and risk-taking male behavior. It doesn't work as well for other groups.
