BREXIT LIVE: ‘Freedom is IRREPLACEABLE!’ Brexiteer STUNS Brussels chief in fiery EU row

Ukip MEP David Coburn passionately shouted "freedom is irreplaceable, freedom is essential" from his seat as the Vice President of the European Commission Frans Timmerman asked Brexiteers if they were willing to "sacrifice jobs" for the "pipe dream of so-called sovereignty". The fiery row comes as MPs prepare to vote on whether to block a no deal departure from the EU after the Prime Minister's deal suffered a thrashing for the second time.

Highest Levels of British Government Investigated Over Child Abuse Claims

The highest levels of the British political establishment are being examined due to allegations that they failed to protect children from sexual abuse.

From March 4 through 29, the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse (IICSA) is hearing evidence involving lawmakers and high-ranking police, and whether they covered up pedophilia at the heart of the British government.

In his opening statement, lead council Brian Altman said the inquiry would investigate “whether Westminster institutions have failed—and, indeed, whether they are still failing—to protect children.

“Questions have been asked as to how Westminster institutions—be they political parties, government departments, law enforcement, or intelligence agencies—have responded to allegations of child sexual abuse and exploitation,” he said.

Theresa May Faces Questions in Parliament After Brexit Deal Voted Down

British Prime Minister Theresa May is addressing MPs’ questions a day after the Parliament rejected her Brexit deal, with 391 lawmakers voting against and only 242 supporting the plan.

After May's bill was turned down in the House of Commons on Tuesday, a vote on a no-deal scenario is slated to be held on Wednesday; if that one fails, the Parliament will take a vote on extending the Brexit deadline beyond 29 March.

The withdrawal deal was also previously rejected by the parliament in January, mainly due to the lawmakers' concerns over the Irish border backstop.

Irish separatists claim responsibility for parcel bombs found in UK

The Irish Republican Army, a violent movement seeking separation of Northern Ireland from the UK, says it was behind a series of bomb packages sent to crowded locations across Britain last week.

The UK police said on Monday that IRA’s claim of responsibility came earlier in the day through a Northern Ireland media outlet using a recognized codeword.

The police said the group had claimed five devices were sent to locations in London and in Scotland although officers recovered only four.

The official line of the UK government is that the IRA, the dominant force behind three decades of troubles that ended in late 1990s, has no official presence anymore and those calling themselves IRA are in fact offshoots of the group.

CORBYN SAYS ‘TIME FOR GENERAL ELECTION’ AS PM MAY’S BREXIT DEAL REJECTED

The UK parliament has again rejected Prime Minister Theresa May's Brexit deal after she secured legally binding assurances from Brussels on the controversial Irish 'backstop' – but the changes weren't enough to placate lawmakers.

May's deal was defeated 391 to 242 on Tuesday evening and will be followed on Wednesday by a debate and vote in the House of Commons on the prospect of the UK leaving the EU with "no deal" in place - which MPs are also expected to reject.

Majority of voters do not think PM's deal delivers the type of Brexit people voted for, YouGov poll reveals

More than half of the British public does not think the Prime Minister’s Brexit deal delivers on the referendum result, according to a new poll.

The YouGov survey found only 12 per cent of adults think Theresa May's deal honours the leave vote compared to 58 per cent who claim it does not and 31 per cent who don’t know.

Labour voters are even more unhappy with Mrs May's deal than Tories, with 66 per cent opposed to the withdrawal agreement compared to 58 per cent of Conservatives.

UK has secured ‘legally binding’ way around Brexit backstop with EU – May

British PM Theresa May has agreed to a “legally binding” deal with the EU around the Northern Ireland ‘backstop’ to secure Brexit, and will put that to a vote in the Parliament on Tuesday. Talks with EU leaders are ongoing.

During the negotiations on Monday with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker in Strasbourg, May secured legally binding changes that “strengthen and improve” the original Brexit agreement, her Cabinet Office Minister David Lidington told reporters Monday evening.

British lawmakers have the choice to “vote for this deal or plunge the country into a political crisis,” said Lidington, noting that the EU has made clear this will be “the only deal on the table.”

LIVE UPDATES: UK Parliament Holds 2nd Decisive Vote on PM May’s Brexit Deal

British MPs are holding an important vote to determine the fate of the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement elaborated by the government after the previous plan was rejected by lawmakers in January.

If there is no agreement on the divorce plan with the EU, Parliament will be holding a vote on a no-deal Brexit on Wednesday. If this option is also rejected, a vote on extending the Article 50 period beyond 29 March will take place on Thursday.

Theresa May's Days Are Numbered - The Game is Up

Back in September 1992, the evening of Black Wednesday (or White Wednesday as many of us came to call it) when Britain crashed out of the Exchange Rate Mechanism, the then Prime Minister, John Major, called Kelvin Mackenzie the editor of The Sun and joshed: "Kelvin, I hope you're going to be kind to me in the paper tomorrow." "Well, Prime Minister," replied Kelvin, "I've got a bucket of shit sitting on my desk and on my front page tomorow, I'm going to pour it all over your head."

Friend or Foe? Tony Blair Advised Macron on How to Derail Brexit - Report

During his time as Prime Minister (1997-2007), Mr Blair presided over a wave of pro-Europe policies, which included devising ways to shift the British currency from the Pound to the Euro, although he admitted in 1999 that the proposal would likely fail in a referendum.

Former UK Prime Minister, Tony Blair, has been secretly advising French President Emmanual Macron on how to stymie the UK's attempts to leave the European Union (EU), the Telegraph has revealed.

Mr Blair apparently shared his beliefs with officials in Paris that if the EU continues to refuse concessions then eventually the British parliament will relent and accept a customs union arrangement that would keep London tethered to Brussels, or, that they may even cancel Brexit altogether.

Over 90% of adults struggle with geography questions for 10-year-olds - almost a third are unable to find France on a map and nearly three-quarters are clueless about Canada's capital

British adults aren't quite as knowledgeable about the world as they think they are, a new study has revealed.

Research has found that 90 per cent of people struggle with geography questions that are meant for 10 to 13-year-olds.

For example, nearly a third were unable to identify France on a map while three quarters could not name the capital of Canada.

Labour Party investigates Electronic Intifada journalist

Labour has initiated disciplinary proceedings against Asa Winstanley, a reporter with The Electronic Intifada who is also a member of the UK’s main opposition party.

The first person to report on this publicly was a journalist from the Jewish Chronicle, a right-wing newspaper with a stridently anti-Palestinian record.

Winstanley wasn’t aware of this until seeing the Tweet.

He then checked his email account and saw a letter from the Labour Party informing him of an “investigation” into several of his tweets critical of Israel and its official ideology, Zionism.

SUBVERSIVE STATECRAFT SCANDAL EXPOSES BOMBSHELL GERMAN-DESIGNED BREXIT PLAN

Cast your mind back to summer last year. The Cabinet gathered at the Prime Minister’s country retreat of Chequers, on the sylvan Chiltern downs. There was very important business: Theresa May, flanked by senior civil servant Olly Robbins, presented the draft agreement for Britain’s departure from the EU. For the first time, ministers (including Brexit secretary David Davis and foreign secretary Boris Johnson) saw the proposed terms – and the extent to which May would abide by her pledge of ‘Brexit means Brexit’. The chief whip instructed that nobody could leave without consenting to the Withdrawal Agreement, unless they resigned – and must then find their way home without ministerial transport.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF true, the owner of this transcript has to come forward in the UK, and explain to the British people precisely what has been done to them, by their leadership, "D NOtices" be damned.

Snap elections need to be held in the UK as quickly as possible, because Prime Minister May needs to be replaced, and quickly, by people who understand what Brexit meant, in terms of the EU dictatorship of Brussels, and how the UK might prosper outside their relationship with the EU.

First Ever UK Woman Convicted of Female Genital Mutilation Jailed For 11 Years

A Ugandan origin woman living in Britain has been jailed for 11 years after her conviction under Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) laws.

The 37-year-old woman became only the first person to be convicted under the UK’s anti-FGM laws in February, despite the nation seeing tens of thousands of cases of this kind of abuse, and the laws having been on the statute books for 34 years.

The sentence passed at the Old Bailey central criminal court in London Friday was of 11 years, however under the British penal system, the time actually served behind bars is typically significantly less.

For the same reasons that President Trump has been a significant political development.

These two post-political characters bring to the surface what has been suppressed for decades: we are subject to foreign occupation. We the people, are reduced to mere consumers and our so-called ‘elected politicians’ are a bunch of detached, compromised actors.

Al Gore Brands UK Politicians ‘Cowards’ for Not Forcing Second Brexit Referendum

Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore has branded British politicians “cowards” for failing to push their voters into a re-run of the 2016 referendum on Britain’s membership of the European Union.

Speaking at the Climate Change Leadership summit in Porto, Portugal, the 70-year-old Democrat took aim at the (in)famous “Breaking Point” poster unveiled by Brexit campaign leader Nigel Farage at the height of the campaign, showing a huge column of illegal migrants pouring through the continent’s borders in late 2015.

“One of the most powerful posters in the ‘Brexit’ campaign was one that showed an endless line of refugees saying, ‘The EU failed’,” Gore told his hosts — although, in fact, the legend read “The EU has failed us all”.

The Fake News Nazi - Corbyn, Williamson And The Anti-Semitism Scandal

One of us had a discussion with an elderly relative:

'He can't be allowed to become Prime Minister.'

'Why not?'

'It's so awful...'

'What is?'

'The way he hates the Jews.'

The last comment was spoken with real anguish, the result of continuous exposure to just two main news sources: the Daily Mail and the BBC.

What is astonishing is that, just four years ago, essentially no-one held this view of Jeremy Corbyn.

Corbyn first became an MP in 1983. He stood for the Labour leadership 32 years later, in May 2015. We searched the ProQuest database for UK newspaper articles containing:

'Jeremy Corbyn' and 'anti-semitism' before 1 May 2015 = 18 hits

'Jeremy Corbyn' and 'anti-semitism' after 1 May 2015 = 11,251 hits

None of the 18 hits accused Corbyn of anti-semitism. For his first 32 years as an MP, it just wasn't a theme associated with him.

Debunking the myth of Labour’s ‘anti-Semitism crisis’

Pro-Israel groups aided by the mainstream media have led the assault on the Labour Party over its handling of allegations of anti-Semitism. Their goal, it seems, is no less than the removal of Jeremy Corbyn as leader with the unfounded claim that he is partly responsible for the surge in anti-Semitism amongst Labour members, which we are told has now reached epidemic proportions.

The allegations have prompted a powerful response from academics and activists, including Jews. Peter Beinart, for example, penned a long essay shattering the myth that anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism. While the article by the Jewish American author was originally published in the Forward magazine, even the Guardian – believed by many to be fuelling the crisis — uploaded it onto its website’s long read section. So far, it has had 21,000 shares; I recommend the piece because of its nuanced dissection of the arguments around the anti-Semitism allegations.

Jeremy Corbyn and the truth about Tom Bower's book

Those of us who report on politics are at liberty to express, within limits, whatever opinions we like. These limits include an obligation to observe standards. We should strive to be accurate. We can make strong arguments but ought not to distort the truth or suppress relevant information to make our point.

Writer Tom Bower fails catastrophically to meet these standards. It is not only that Dangerous Hero: Corbyn's Ruthless Plot For Power, his new book on Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn, contains numerous falsehoods. It systematically omits relevant facts in order to portray Corbyn as a ruthless Marxist and anti-semite hell-bent on destroying Western liberal values.

Jewish Labour Movement was refounded to fight Corbyn

The Jewish Labour Movement was revived in 2015 to battle Jeremy Corbyn, The Electronic Intifada can reveal.

A right-wing organization with intimate ties to the Israeli embassy, the Jewish Labour Movement claims to have been affiliated to Labour for a century.

But a transcript of an undercover recording, obtained by The Electronic Intifada, casts doubt on this narrative.

It indicates that the dormant Jewish Labour Movement was revived by political allies of Israel as a weapon against Corbyn, the left and the wider Palestine solidarity movement.

Jewish Labour Movement chair Jeremy Newmark told a members only function on 13 September 2016 that “a bunch of us sat in a coffee shop in Golders Green” around September 2015 to “talk about re-forming the JLM to do something with it,” the transcript of unused footage shot by Al Jazeera shows.

Shocking footage reveals some of the 370 CRACKS in a Scottish nuclear power plant reactor that EDF Energy wants to bring back to life

Worrying footage of almost 400 cracks 2mm-wide that have forced a Scottish nuclear reactor to close has been revealed for the first time.

Hunterston B in North Ayrshire was forced to shut the reactor last March after experts found the hairline fractures were growing faster than expected in about one in every 10 bricks in a reactor core.

Now EDF, which operates the plant, has released the footage as evidence of their extensive efforts to fix the problem.

It has revealed plans to restart Hunterston B after first proving that it is safe to the Office of Nuclear Regulation (ONR).

Revealed: A day after Corbyn said ISIS bride should be let back into UK... how Labour's John McDonnell once called for anyone who fought for Israel to be stripped of their British citizenship

John McDonnell argued Britons who fought for Israel against Palestine should face the threat of losing their citizenship in a letter that emerged today - 24 hours after Jeremy Corbyn said jihadi bride Shamima Begum should keep her passport.

The shadow chancellor wrote to then Home Secretary Theresa May in 2014 saying she should censure British citizens who served in the Israeli Defence Force (IDF) and mete out the same punishment given to those who joined ISIS.

Yesterday his party leader said Shamima Begum and her newborn baby should be allowed to return from Syria and given the 'support that she needs' by the authorities.

Yet Mr McDonnell argued the Government's policy to strip violent jihadis of their passports should be widened to those who went to fight for the Israeli Defence Force against the Palestinians in Gaza - with some critics calling it 'hypocrisy'.

Deal or no deal, here’s why Brexit cannot be stopped

The UK political commentariat are a lazy bunch. Brexit is one of their biggest topics in decades – a bonanza that any amateur can pitch in on – yet remarkably few have got to grips with the key texts. If they had, they would realise Brexit is at that stage of the chess game where the result is already a foregone conclusion. Brexit is going to happen.

Some more enlightened MPs saw this a while ago. Would Anna Soubry have resigned from the Conservative Party if she thought Remain or BRINO (Brexit In Name Only) were on the cards? Would Jeremy Corbyn offer a second referendum to his diehard Remainers if he thought there was any probability of Remain? You can hear the anguish of opportunists who placed their chips on defending BRINO from space as they realise they will end up on the wrong side of history.

‘Racially profiled’ British student interrogated by Israeli embassy at UK campus

Israel’s Ambassador to the UK, Mark Regev, rose to notoriety with his ruthless and unapologetic defence of Israeli war-crimes in Gaza. His talent for suppressing truth and taking on the rising tide of anti-Israeli sentiments earned him a position in the UK, long seen by Tel Aviv as the global centre of pro-Palestinian activism. The Australian-born diplomat, who moved to Israel in 1982, places a premium on speaking at university campuses and has stoked controversy wherever he goes. The latest saw pro-Palestinian student activists being harassed and interrogated by his security staff who are accused of supressing free speech and behaving like thuggish enforcers.

The showdown between Regev’s security guards and British students took place at the University of Leicester last week. A group of student activists from the Palestine Society decided to exercise their democratic right to protest and express disdain over the university’s decision to host such a polarising figure.

UK Sells $445m Of Arms To Israel, Including Sniper Rifles

Britain has approved the sale of arms to Israel worth $445m since the 2014 Gaza war, including components for drones, combat aircraft and helicopters along with spare parts for sniper rifles, according to figures seen by Middle East Eye.

The government data will raise fresh concerns that British-made weapons are being used by the Israeli military in the Occupied Territories, amid fears that components in sniper rifles used to kill scores of Palestinian civilians in recent weeks could have been made in the UK.

Arms export licences to Israel soared to £216m, or $300m at current exchange rates, last year from £20m in the wake of the Gaza war, new Department for International Trade figures show.

They include a major £183m licence covering "technology for military radars", but ministers have also approved the sale for export of grenades, bombs, missiles, armoured vehicles, assault rifles, small arms ammunition, sniper rifles and components for sniper rifles.

Fentanyl poisoned the Skripals – back to basics

Sadly our “intelligence” services limp on from one blunder to another. It could well be that Sergey Skripal with his contacts in Russia, if he still had any, fed Steele and Miller at Orbis Business Intelligence this nonsense. Unfortunately these blunders may be the reason that we will never hear from the Skripals again.

Ten days after the Skripals ingested fentanyl Stephen Davies wrote the following letter to the Times over that newspaper’s alarmist headline, a headline which was panicking people of Salisbury into thinking they may have been poisoned by a nerve-agent and thus adding unnecessary burdens on an already overworked NHS.

UK: Supporters of Muslim rape gang threaten to rape female court prosecutors

The report below states: “Supporters of a depraved Asian sex gang targeted two female prosecutors outside a court room, hurling abuse and telling them: ‘Hope you get raped.'”

The sex gangs in the UK, known in the establishment media as “Asian grooming gangs,” have actually been Muslim rape gangs. This particular Muslim rape gang behaved in a manner that was consistent with their beliefs about women. They view infidel women as inferiors, and if a woman is not covered up, this in itself is justifiable reason to abuse her (Quran 24:31, 33:59).

The report goes on to say in its full version that “throughout the case some defendants had to be warned about their conduct and there was aggressive behaviour by some of their families.” This reveals their disdain for Western courts and infidel, female prosecutors. Yet Britain has still not awakened to the ideology that motivates their disdain, as well as their crimes.

Banking leak exposes Russian network with link to Prince Charles

A charity run by Prince Charles received donations from an offshore company that was used to funnel vast amounts of cash from Russia in a scheme that is under investigation by prosecutors, the Guardian can reveal.

Money flowing through the network included cash that can be linked to some of the most notorious frauds committed during Vladimir Putin’s presidency.

In all, it is estimated that $4.6bn (£3.5bn) was sent to Europe and the US from a Russian-operated network of 70 offshore companies with accounts in Lithuania.

The details have emerged from 1.3m banking transactions obtained by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project and the Lithuanian website 15min.lt.

Shared with media partners including the Guardian, the data represents one of the largest ever banking leaks.

This comes as Emmanuel Macron has sparked a vicious backlash for claiming Brexit was the result of an “irresponsible lie” and saying the situation represents the worst crisis since the Second World War. In the French president’s letter to the ‘Citizens of Europe’, published in a number of publications across the continent and in the UK, he said: “Who told the British people the truth about their post-Brexit future?"

Power bills shake-up will leave pensioners having to pay MORE... while rich families in large homes will SAVE cash

Millions of pensioners and poorer households face paying more for energy under a shake-up by the industry regulator.

The plans, which are being finalised by Ofgem after years of consultations, would change the way energy firms charge customers for the cost of sending gas and electricity to homes.

Instead of including these costs in the price per unit of energy that customers use, they will be split out into a ‘fixed charge’ per day that will appear on energy bills.

This daily fee will be averaged out so that every customer pays the same fixed cost per month, with their gas and electricity usage added on top.

As a result of loading these fixed costs on to bills, the poorest families who use the least energy are likely to pay more than they do today.

Bend over and spread 'em!

Corbyn calls for UK to condemn Israel’s targeting of Palestinians

Head of the British Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn has called for the UK government to condemn Israel’s killing of Palestinians as well as to freeze arms sales to the occupation state.

His remarks came in the wake of a UN report which found that Israel might have committed war crimes against Palestinians.

On Twitter, Corbyn wrote: “The UN says Israel’s killings of demonstrators in Gaza – including children, paramedics and journalists – may constitute ‘war crimes or crimes against humanity’”.

“The UK government must unequivocally condemn the killings and freeze arms sales to Israel.”

The UN report, published earlier this week, said: “The Israeli security forces killed and maimed Palestinian demonstrators who did not pose an imminent threat of death or serious injury to others when they were shot, nor were they directly participating in hostilities,” adding that the protests had been “civilian in nature”.

ROYAL MESS: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Will Raise Their Baby as “Gender Fluid”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be raising their new baby as “gender fluid” and won’t impose any stereotypes on it, reported The Sun.
Meghan Markle, 37, is 7 months pregnant and recently told guests at her baby shower that she will be raising her child to be gender fluid.

People speculate that she will avoid dressing “Baby Sussex” in pink or blue clothing like others raising “theybies” — children who are not referred to as ‘he’ or ‘she.’

Friends who posted pictures from Markle’s baby shower to social media used the hashtag #Girl suggesting she will be giving birth to a girl this Spring.

Parents raising “gender fluid” babies are all a part of a Marxist movement to turn societal norms upside down.

Labour’s McCarthyism

Another one bites the dust.

Left-wing MP Chris Williamson is the latest prominent Labour figure to be thrown to the wolves.

On Thursday he was suspended from the party for an unspecified “pattern of behaviour.”

This comes after a long campaign of incitement against Williamson by the Israel lobby.

It began in the summer of 2017, after he accurately, and bravely, stuck his neck out and condemned “lies and dirty tricks” around the “anti-Semitism smears”.

“Many people in the Jewish community are appalled by what they see as the weaponization of anti-Semitism for political ends,” he told the Guardian.

Since then, along with Corbyn himself, Williamson has been Public Enemy Number One for the Israel lobby.

A View From The Brextanic

Longtime Automatic Earth friend Alexander Aston talks about finding himself at Oxford at a point in time when the British themselves appear overcome by a combo of utter confusion and deadly lethargy, and one can only imagine what it must be like for ‘foreigners’ residing in Albion, who face large potential changes to their lives and know there’s not a thing they can do about it, not even vote.

I like the observation that the entire British political system, the place where decisions are made, is the size of a small village. That’s a visual we can all relate to. It’s a physical limit as well as a mental one. I’m all for sovereignty and self-determination, but how’s that going to work if you can’t even see the boundaries of your own territory?

Guys, it’s 4 weeks to D-Day today. How about we call off the landing, get a few pints instead, and talk? First round’s on me.

Britain’s witchfinders are ready to burn Jeremy Corbyn

US ambassador says Britain should embrace American farming methods such as chlorinated chicken

The EU is a “museum of agriculture”, the US ambassador to Britain has said, as he urged the UK to embrace American farming methods to seal a transatlantic trade deal.

Writing in The Telegraph, Woody Johnson says US practices such as chlorine-washing chicken and feeding growth hormones to cattle are “the future of farming” while the EU’s “traditionalist approach” belongs in the past.

UK citizens who fight in Israeli army should be prosecuted, Baroness Warsi says

British citizens who volunteer for the Israeli army should be prosecuted like others who fight for foreign forces, according to Baroness Warsi.

The former Senior Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs said people should only be legally allowed to fight for the state they are a citizen of.

It is currently possible for anyone to join the Israel Defence Force (IDF) through the “Mahal” program if they meet specific background and age requirements.

The Witchfinders are now Ready to Burn Corbyn

“McCarthyism” is a word thrown around a lot nowadays, and in the process its true meaning – and horror – has been increasingly obscured.

McCarthyism is not just the hounding of someone because their views are unpopular. It is the creation by the powerful of a perfect, self-rationalising system of incrimination – denying the victim a voice, even in their own defence. It presents the accused as an enemy so dangerous, their ideas so corrupting, that they must be silenced from the outset. Their only chance of rehabilitation is prostration before their accusers and utter repentance.

McCarthyism, in other words, is the modern political parallel of the witch hunt.

British Jewish organisation critical of Israel forced to cancel documentary screening

In what looks like the next chapter in the ongoing row over alleged antisemitism within the Labour Party, a British Jewish organisation critical of Israel has been forced to cancel the screening of a controversial documentary in the House of Commons. The film explores the background to the allegations and was due to be screened next month.

Labour MP Chris Williamson booked a room in parliament to screen the film about the suspended Jewish Labour activist Jackie Walker, although the screening was organised by Jewish Voice for Labour (JVL), a network for Jewish members of the Labour Party. The group has backed party leader Jeremy Corbyn during the row over antisemitism, which started on his election as leader in 2015.

BBC Question Time audience brilliantly PROVE why second Brexit referendum will NOT work

Speaking on BBC’s Question Time, German comedian Henning Wehn used the audience to prove his point that a second Brexit referendum would not deliver another decisive result. Mr Wehn claimed the BBC audience represented the views of the whole of the UK, as he joked about the Brexit debate on the show. He said: “I quite like the whole scenario of what is going on because it is highly entertaining.

“We haven’t had a dull moment since. Every morning you wake up, instantly turn on the radio, has anyone resigned? Have we still got a government? Is anyone saying anything about bananas being too straight or too bendy? Or is there some arch-Remainer going ‘oh if there is a no deal Brexit there will never, ever be another plane taking off from British soil'.

“For me, with the referendum, I would have personally preferred if it was best of seven.”

'They should wait until they've sorted out Brexit!' Fury as MPs are handed a £2,000 pay rise in April as expenses watchdog hikes their basic salary 2.7 per cent to £79,468

A £2,000-a--year pay rise for MPs sparked a furious backlash last night.

The inflation-busting 2.7 per cent increase, which was announced by the Whitehall quango in charge of pay and expenses, will take basic annual salaries to nearly £80,000.

It means MPs have seen their wages go up by more than 20 per cent in the past seven years.

The announcement provoked fury as critics said politicians should not get more money until they had sorted out Brexit.

UK Rejects International Court of Justice Opinion on the Chagos Islands 317

In parliament, Alan Duncan for the government has just rejected yesterday’s stunning result at the International Court of Justice, where British occupation of the Chagos Islands was found unlawful by a majority of 13 to 1, with all the judges from EU countries amongst those finding against the UK.

This represents a serious escalation in the UK’s rejection of multilateralism and international law and a move towards joining the US model of exceptionalism, standing outside the rule of international law. As such, it is arguably the most significant foreign policy development for generations. In the Iraq war, while Britain launched war without UN Security Council authority, it did so on a tenuous argument that it had Security Council authority from earlier resolutions. The UK was therefore not outright rejecting the international system. On Chagos it is now simply denying the authority of the International Court of Justice; this is utterly unprecedented.

BREXIT LIVE: George Eustice QUITS over Brexit delay - Minister savages dishonourable EU

THERESA May has been handed another Brexit blow after influential minister George Eustice resigned over opposing a possible extension to Article 50.

The agriculture minister took a swipe at the Prime Minister’s handling of the UK’s withdrawal from the European Union stating “parliament is now in direct control”. The Tory MP indicated the motions passed this week in the Commons meant the EU would now be “dictating the terms” of negotiations and the country was now in danger of being “humiliated”.

Israel’s ‘racist’ Nation-State Law condemned in Westminster

Israel’s Jewish Nation-State Law was condemned as “racist” at a seminar held in the Palace of Westminster yesterday by EuroPal Forum whose chairman, Zaher Birawi, described the legislation as “racist”. The law was ratified by the Knesset in July last year.

Hosted by British Labour MP Andy Slaughter and chaired by journalist and researcher Nasim Ahmed, the seminar brought together individuals from the legal, diplomatic and public policy fields. The intention was to elucidate a more nuanced understanding of the Nation-State Law while also communicating the various steps that could be taken by the international community to challenge Israel’s violations of international law. The “Basic Law: Israel as the Nation-State of the Jewish People” has been criticised widely, described by Palestinians and members of the international community alike as both discriminatory and verging on apartheid.

Hezbollah Becomes Theresa May’s Latest Scapegoat In her Battle for Political Survival

Having lost considerable influence in Europe and other parts of the world over the chaotic Brexit process, Britain’s Prime Minister Theresa May is seeking to gain leverage by boxing-in Hezbollah. British politics under the Conservative government not only appears to have lost the plot, but many may not be faulted if they also ask whether May has lost her marbles as well.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah, it has been announced by Home Secretary Sajid Javid, is henceforth to be designated as a “terrorist organization” in its entirety. To date, Britain has only designated the armed wing of the group. The reason given for this move is plainly ridiculous and alludes to why many wonder if Britain has run into a cul-de-sac of its own making. According to Javid, he decided to proscribe Hezbollah because it is “continuing in its attempts to destabilize the fragile situation in the Middle East.”

UK WILL PAY: German businesses to OVERCHARGE Brits after Brexit 'why should WE suffer?'

GERMAN businesses have hatched plans to charge British consumers higher prices in order to make up for potential Brexit-related losses, it has been revealed.

A leading industrial lobby, which is based in the region around car giant Volkswagen’s headquarters, is leading a charge for “price adjustments” to cover the costs of exporting to Britain in event of a no-deal Brexit. Smaller firms are also following the lead after Lueneburg Chamber of Commerce published “five Brexit tips”, which includes charging Britons more to cover potential customs duties. The plans have been pushed out to over 10,000 people as part of an effort to prepare businesses near Hamburg for a hard Brexit

Why politics is dead

?With both left and right emptied of their ideological and political relevance, left and right have been reduced into mere forms of identification with zero political or ideological relevance. The EU27 are far less prepared for no-deal Brexit than you’d think

As 29 March gets nearer and Theresa May tries to get a Brexit deal through parliament, preparations for no deal continue in both London and mainland Europe. It’s been well-documented that the UK government’s preparations haven’t been optimal, and many British companies aren’t really prepared for no deal. However, on the other side of the Channel, things aren’t going all that well either.

Here is an overview of the EU27’s no-deal plans:

Nuclear Weapons: Who Has What at a Glance

At the dawn of the nuclear age, the United States hoped to maintain a monopoly on its new weapon, but the secrets and the technology for making nuclear weapons soon spread. The United States conducted its first nuclear test explosion in July 1945 and dropped two atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945. Just four years later, the Soviet Union conducted its first nuclear test explosion. The United Kingdom (1952), France (1960), and China (1964) followed. Seeking to prevent the nuclear weapon ranks from expanding further, the United States and other like-minded states negotiated the nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty (NPT) in 1968 and the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) in 1996.

Higher food prices, an extra £13bn in costs for 240,000 businesses and huge passport queues: Government releases damning no deal Brexit report just hours after May insists UK can 'make a success out of crashing out without a deal'

The Government admitted 200,000 firms that trade with the EU are not ready for a no deal Brexit tonight in a damning report with just 31 days to exit day.

The study from the Brexit department also found citizens are ignoring no deal warnings and failing to make sure they are ready for a no deal.

It said no deal would cause delays at the border - potentially meaning shortages and prices rises for some food, particularly fresh produce not in season in Britain.

The report warns panic buying could fuel shortages in foods that are shipped across the Channel.

Ahead of the publication of tonight's report Theresa May admitted it would be an 'honest assessment' of the 'serious challenges' facing Britain after no deal.

But she told MPs: 'I believe that if we have to, we will ultimately make a success of a No Deal.'
