Qatar Says "We Will Never Surrender", Welcomes Turkish Troops As Iran Offers Food, Ports

Even as the world's attention turns to the Comey testimony for the next few hours, the Qatar diplomatic crisis (where CNN's "report" of Russian hacking now appears long forgotten) continues, and moments ago a barrage of headlines from Qatar suggests that the small nation, which may or may not be preparing for military action, is happy to welcome the Turkish troops that will be arriving soon as reported yesterday, with its foreign minister stating that "we are not ready to surrender and will never compromise the independence of our foreign policy." Also, and perhaps even more critically, Qatar - whose foreign minister is set to fly to Moscow on Saturday - also announced that Iran is ready to help with food and that three of Iran's ports will be designated for use for Qatar.

From the wires:

QATAR FM SAYS IRAN SAID THEY ARE READY TO HELP QATAR WITH FOOD & 3 OF THEIR PORTS WILL BE DESIGNATED FOR QATAR: RTRS.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This wouldn't have happened at all, if Saudi Arabia didn't believe it did not have the full backing of the US, to pull this stunt.

Trump's offer to assist in a "resolution" of the conflict is pure, Trumpian theatre; full of sound and fury, but signifying .... absolutely nothing. This geopolitical kerfuffle is largely of his own making.

Folks, keep your eyes on the ball here; the real target, in all of this, is Iran, and conjuring some kind of "justification" for a war against it; please do not let that reality out of your sight for a moment, because it ultimately will be your kids, getting drafted, and on the front lines of such a war.

US, Israel aim to divide and conquer Middle East

In a recent broadcast, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes denounced the sordid attempts of 16 leading Democratic lawmakers who, under the influence of the Israeli lobby, are pushing to impose new economic sanctions on Iran, which is designed to sabotage Obama’s rapprochement with the Islamic Republic.

Although this condemnation of the Zionist lobby’s implacable warmongering is admirable, in the strictly confined discourse we see on the mainstream media presenters of this caliber refuse to state the obvious, which is that the United States has no right whatsoever to tell any country what to do on any matter, either foreign or domestic. Economic sanctions are an act of war, yet the US has imposed crippling economic sanctions on dozens of countries around the world, strangling the life out of them like a deadly python suffocating its victims.

After Trump Says Iran Reaps What it Sows, Iran Condemns "Repugnant" Statement

The U.S. Senate also opened up debate to move forward with a sanctions bill against Iran on Wednesday, less than a day after the deadly attack claimed by Islamic State group.

In a brief, two sentence official White House statement released Wednesday about the attack earlier that day that killed 17 people in Iran, President Donald Trump said the the nation was reaping the consequences of its actions, prompting Iran to denounce the United States President's response as “repugnant.”

President Trump said in the statement that while "we grieve and pray for the innocent victims of the terrorist attacks in Iran", nonetheless "we underscore that states that sponsor terrorism risk falling victim to the evil they promote."

Webmaster's Commentary:

But 9-11 happened because "they hate our freedoms."

US’ plan to destabilize Iran: “Dark Prince” appointed as head of the CIA

The Trump administration, this week, appeared to take a potential step closer to backing efforts plotted by Saudi Arabia and the UAE to destabilize Iran; possibly topple its Islamic government; and force Qatar to fall into line with Gulf policies that target Iran, political Islam, and militants; with the appointment of a seasoned covert operations officer as head of the Central Intelligence Agency’s Iran operations.

Saudi support of militant groups in Pakistani Baluchistan that operate across the border in the Iranian province of Sistan and Baluchistan is abetted by a US policy.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This information, coupled with that I have posted earlier this morning, points to a definite escalation of military and economic actions against Iran, as a prelude to a war against it.

I do not know where the USS Ronald Reagan or the USS Carl Vinson have been re-assigned, after leaving the Korean Peninsula, but my best bet would be, ultimately to the Persian Gulf.

And when they are in position is the moment we may well see all hell breaking loose in the Middle East.

US Investigators Blame ‘Russian Hackers’ for Qatar Split With Saudis

While President Trump has personally claimed credit for the split between Qatar and the other Gulf Arab states, some US investigators are engaged in particularly wild speculation today, aiming to make the whole situation a plot carried out by Russian hackers.

A little over a week into the latest row, tensions between Qatar and other Gulf states is a hugely complicating factor for US foreign policy in the region, particularly since Qatar hosts the largest US military base in the Middle East. Qatar’s split is something that’s been an ongoing issue for years, based around differing views on the Arab Spring.

Fake news helped though, too, as while that row between Qatar and the Saudis has been a thing for years, this latest escalation centered around a report in the Qatar state media, right after President Trump’s visit to Saudi Arabia to make hawkish speeches about Iran, quoted the Qatari Emir warning against seeking military confrontation toward Iran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump cannot have this situation both ways.

Either he was responsible for the blockade, and the Saudi ultimatum against Qatar, or he was not; it's sort of like being pregnant; one either is, or is not, period, end of discussion.

But in the collusion of events within the last 24 hours, one can see the opening salvos of a war against Iran coming, and coming quickly. Fast forward to this morning:

Turkey approves a bill to send troops to Qatar

Assad's military alliance threatens strike against US forces in Syria.

Qatari riyal crashes after Saudi Arabia orders their banks to cut exposure to it

Iran blames Saudi Arabia for terrorist attack,
Vows revenge.

UAE threatens 15 years jail time for publishing statements sympathetic to Qatar

Tehran Stock Exchange down 76% after terror attack

All of these situations, evaluated together, most probably mean a coming war against Iran, which possibly means war with Russia, and sooner rather than later.

Trump Takes Credit for Saudi Move Against Qatar, a U.S. Military Partner

President Trump thrust himself into a bitter Persian Gulf dispute on Tuesday, taking credit for Saudi Arabia’s move to isolate its smaller neighbor, Qatar, and rattling his national security staff by upending a critical American strategic relationship.

In a series of tweets, Mr. Trump said his call for an end to the financing of radical groups had prompted Saudi Arabia and four other countries to act this week against Qatar, a tiny, energy-rich emirate that is arguably America’s most important military outpost in the Middle East.

“During my recent trip to the Middle East I stated that there can no longer be funding of Radical Ideology,” he wrote in a midmorning post. “Leaders pointed to Qatar — look!”

Webmaster's Commentary:

When you are looking at with the coordination of the following events together:

The naval blockade of Qatar:

Saudi Arabia and UAE impose a naval blockade on Qatar

The 24 hour ultimatum from Saudi Arabia that Qatar abide by its decrees, or else, face a military attack:

Saudi Arabia gives Qatar a 24 hour Window to Meet its Ultimatum

The US Siege of Raqqa, Syria:
US Apaches provide Kurdish troops the psychological edge to their siege in Raqqa

And the attack against the Iranian Parliament today:

TERRORISTS RAID IRAN PARLIAMENT, MAUSOLEUM; GUNMEN, SUICIDE BOMBERS LEAVE AT LEAST SEVEN DEAD

When you put all these events in context, you are looking at the opening salvos of a war against Iran.

If Qatar does not respond to Saudi Arabia's demands, after being somewhat defensive toward Iran, it will be regime changed.

Regime change in Damascus is on, to isolate Iran even further.

What really concerns me, in all of this, is how soon the US and Russia will be locked in combat, either over Syria and/or Iran. And right now, the US military does not have the troop strength; the money; the weaponry; or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a war with Russia (and/or China).

Iran’s parliament, Imam Khomeini's Mausoleum come under attack

They are blaming Saudi and Trump for this terrorist act.

The attack on the parliament happened when at least four gunmen, disguised as women, entered the visitors' hall of the building, opening fire on the security guards there. According to an Interior Ministry statement, the terrorists were all killed before they could make it to the administrative building of the parliament.

The assault has forced a lockdown on the legislature.

Earlier in the day, a group of four people in women's clothes opened fire in the building of the Iranian Parliament, with a subsequent explosion. Another attack involving an explosion took place near the Imam Khomeini shrine.

TERRORISTS RAID IRAN PARLIAMENT, MAUSOLEUM; GUNMEN, SUICIDE BOMBERS LEAVE AT LEAST SEVEN DEAD

Terrorist attackers raided Iran’s parliament and opened fire at the Mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini a few kilometers south of the capital on Wednesday morning, in near simultaneous assaults that killed up to seven people, Reuters reported citing local media.

The first assault took place at 10.30 am local time when the parliament was in session. Four gunmen walked into the parliament buildings and began shooting at visitors. Parliament is in lockdown and the police are reported by state media to be still hunting the gunmen. A bomb blast was subsequently reported at Iranian parliament killing one and injuring several, officials said as cited by local media.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The timing of this horrific act is hardly accidental.

It comes on the heels of (24 hours after) both the naval blockade of Qatar, and the attack against Isis by US forces on the ground in Syria.

Something wicked this way comes for the people of the Middle East, and of course, not a breath of it from the corporate presstitutes, focusing on the non-existent Russian attempt to sway the American election last November.

FIFA BEING USED TO PRESSURE QATAR, AS WORLD CUP 2022 IS NOW UNDER SCRUTINY

It is very clear that the recent tension and blockade between Gulf States (lead by Saudi Arabia) and Qatar have absolutely nothing to do with terrorism, and everything to do with natural gas and energy dominance.

Zerohedge notes…

–as often happens, the official narrative is traditionally a convenient smokescreen from the real underlying tensions.

The real reason behind the diplomatic fallout may be far simpler, and once again has to do with a long-running and controversial topic, namely Qatar’s regional natural gas dominance.

*****

As a result of the tiny nation’s growing financial and political “independence”, its neighbors grew increasingly frustrated and concerned: “Qatar used to be a kind of Saudi vassal state, but it used the autonomy that its gas wealth created to carve out an independent role for itself,” said Jim Krane, energy research fellow at Rice University’s Baker Institute, quoted by Bloomberg.

Webmaster's Commentary:

When Karl Marx made the observation that all wars are economic in their origin, one cannot think of a better example that this kerfuffle over Qatar.

So what are the US and Saudi Arabia going to do now, invade Qatar as the prelude for invading Iran?!?

Because right now, were I a betting woman, I would not bet against it; those in the bowels of power in the Unhinged, Surveilled States of American know an economic crash is coming, and desperately want to get a war going as a distraction from that crash.

And the following, very disturbing article appears in sputniknews.com, with a dateline of today:

"FORGET TERRORISM": THE REAL REASON BEHIND THE QATAR CRISIS IS NATURAL GAS

The real reason behind the diplomatic fallout may be far simpler, and once again has to do with a long-running and controversial topic, namely Qatar's regional natural gas dominance.

Recall that many have speculated (with evidence going back as far back as 2012) that one of the reasons for the long-running Syria proxy war was nothing more complex than competing gas pipelines, with Qatar eager to pass its own pipeline, connecting Europe to its vast natural gas deposits, however as that would put Gazprom's monopoly of European LNG supply in jeopardy, Russia had been firmly, and violently, against this strategy from the beginning and explains Putin's firm support of the Assad regime and the Kremlin's desire to prevent the replacement of the Syrian government with a puppet regime.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Now, the pieces are falling into place, and making sense, for this geopolitical kerfuffle.

As Deep Throat was fond of saying to Woodward and Bernstein, "Follow the money!!"

and I have to wonder; is this going to be the "justification" used by the American Deep State, in concert with the Unhinged, Surveilled States of America, to go to war against both Qatar and ultimately, Iran?!?

To gain control of this natural gas resource for Saudi Arabia?!?

Also, please consider the following:

Qatar hosts the largest military base in the Middle East

Are the American forces now going to be fighting its host country, and what signals does that send to all the other countries around the world where American bases have been strategically located?!?

The short answer here, is not great signals at all; any US military strike against Qatar will be viewed as a complete violation of US Military/host country protocol, and make government overseas very nervous about how quickly the US government is ready and willing to turn from friend to enemy.

HACKED EMAILS EXPOSE US WORKING WITH UAE AGAINST IRAN AND QATAR

The email account of one of Washington’s most influential foreign operatives, Yousef Al-Otaiba, has been hacked. A number of those emails were sent to the Intercept, as well as the Huffington Post and the Daily Beast, the Intercept reports. The hacker has allegedly promised to release a trove of these emails publicly.
Otaiba is the United Arab Emirate’s ambassador to the United States, and the Intercept confirms that the Hotmail account in question is the one he used for his business in Washington. The Huffington Post further confirmed that at least one of the emails is authentic, and a UAE spokesperson confirmed Otaiba account had been hacked. None of the eight individuals whose names were involved in the email exchanges – and who were contacted by the Huffington Post for comment – denied that the exchanges took place.

CIA’s New Iran Chief Is a Sign of Trump’s ‘Hard Line’ on Iran

The CIA has appointed Michael D’Andrea, who is colloquially known as “Ayatollah Mike,” as the new chief of their anti-Iran operations. D’Andrea had previously participated in the hunt for bin Laden, was said to be heavily involved in the CIA’s torture program against al-Qaeda detainees, and then oversaw the CIA drone war worldwide, with its huge death toll of both civilians and “suspects.”

As someone who oversaw torture and widespread killing by CIA forces, and is seen as a particularly aggressive figure, D’Andrea’s appointment to the Iran post is seen as a sign that the Trump Administration is taking a “hard line” toward Iran.

Exactly what a hard line toward Iran means, in the midst of repeated international confirmations that Iran is complying with its requirements under the P5+1 nuclear deal, is not clear, though Trump has repeatedly expressed opposition to the P5+1 deal, and may still be looking for an out.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This appointment is absolutely sending the wrong message.

President Trump, a word, please.

Iran hasn't started a war in over 200 years. Yes, it is a theocracy, but one which does have elections, and a Constitution.

Israel has no Constitution, after over 60 years of existence.

Over 50% of Iran's scientists are women.

They have managed to grow their economy, even in spite of Western sanctions against it, and its economic growth is somewhere around 5.5% (a lot better than the US economy is doing right now, thank you very much).

Iran’s Long Economic Journey

Mr. President, I am deeply concerned that you have thrown the US's geopolitical lot in the Middle East with Saudi Arabia, a country which has a human rights record which would make Attila the Hun look downright compassionate.

And I understand that your anti-Iran rhetoric is being spoon-fed to you right now by both Saudi Arabia, and Israel, which both see Iran as an "existential threat", when all it has done is to create a theocratic, functioning state, and whose people are living very much better than they did under the US puppet, the Shah.

I respectfully request that you re-think this CIA appointment. On American TV, you are noted for two words: "You're fired!" This is what you most probably need to say to Michael D’Andrea, before any further damage can be done to US/Iranian relations (and those relations are bad enough already, sir).

Any military combat against Iran will almost certainly mean a war with Russia, and the US military does not have the weaponry; the money; the troop strength; or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war with Russia over Iran.

IAEA: Iran Continues to Comply With Nuclear Deal

The latest quarterly report from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has once again confirmed that Iran is continuing to comply with all of its requirements under the P5+1 nuclear deal, and that its stockpiles of low enriched uranium remain well below negotiated caps.

The IAEA report also confirmed that Iran has made no attempt to construct a heavy water reactor at Arak. Iran is expected to ultimately build a reactor at Arak to produce medical isotopes, though under the P5+1 deal the international community is to offer an alternative design that produces less plutonium as a waste product.

The lack of an active heavy water reactor, along with continued struggles to sell their excess heavy water on the international market, means Iran is once again nearing the “cap” on a heavy water stockpile. The P5+1 deal was supposed to assure Iran an export market for excess heavy water, to help recoup the cost of a production facility no longer needed because of the Arak redesign.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, if IAEA says that Iran is complying completely with the P5+1 Accords, why is the US still demonizing it?!?

The short answer is, because Israel wants it destroyed and balkanised, as it, allegedly represents an "existential threat" to Israel, even though it has not started a war in over 200 years.

And BTW, if you have not seen it yet, please enjoy the following video, done by a very charming Jewish vidiographer: "Don't Tell Mother I'm In Iran"
Don't Tell Mother I'm In Iran

Whenever the West's formidable military machine adds to its tragic litany of "collateral damage" – in Libya, Yemen, Somalia, the tribal areas in Pakistan – silence reigns. No Muslim full names on front pages.

Whenever NATO-GCC proxies add to their own tragic litany of premeditated massacres – across Syria, across Iraq – the perpetrators are excused because they're "our," "moderate" rebels and freedom fighters.

This inexorable, perverse, logic won't be altered. Now with a twist, because President Trump has explained to a startled world, via his Islamophobe speechwriter Stephen Miller, it's all Iran's fault.

Trump professed his faith while swearing over a glowing orb nestled in Riyadh, the alma mater of all forms of Wahhabi or Salafi-jihadi terror.

SHIFTING THE BLAME: HOW US MADE IRAN RESPONSIBLE FOR 9/11

The official U.S. government line is that Iran is the main country responsible for the 9/11 attacks in America. On 9 March 2016, a U.S. civil court ruled that Iran must pay to some victims of the 9/11 attacks $10.5 billion in fines, and the Obama Administration had no comment, so the U.S. press ignored the verdict almost totally. But this verdict was the only official U.S. court ruling thus far about state-sponsorship of the 9/11 attacks, 16 years after the event. It was therefore huge news on 9 March 2016 — it created a precedent, for the U.S. government to allege that Iran had caused the 9/11 attacks and is consequently ‘the number one terrorist state’ (as Israelis have long claimed). But it received very little coverage at the time.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The concept, of Iran being responsible for 9/11, is absolutely ludicrous, with utterly not a shred of evidence for this having happened.

Had such a thing really happened, and particularly during the Bush administration, and they truly believed Iran was the culprit, Tehran, and the rest of the country, would have been pulverized into a sea of molten glass in revenge.

I am profoundly upset and annoyed at what President Trump has done, by arming one of the most vicious nation-states in the Middle East, with a human rights track record making Attila the Hun look compassionate; which exports violent, Wahabi Islam; and is one of the most intense perpetrators of radicalised Islam in the region, and the world.

But he did this because Saudi Arabia and Israel both see Iran as an alleged "existential threat" to the region.

And why?!?

Because since the 1979 revolution, Iran has been able to cobble together both a Constitution, and a moderate Islamic theocracy, where ordinary people have a chance to better their lot in life through education; get to vote in elections; and create an economy which is growing, and has the 2nd largest economy in the Middle East.
Iran Economic Overview

Their banks do not charge compound interest, but only a simple percentage of the loan as the fees for doing business.

But the arming of Saudi Arabia to the teeth, which this deal has done, sets both Saudi Arabia and the US on an almost unstoppable road to war against Iran, which will most probably mean war with Russia.

Watch for massive demonisation of both Iran and Russia to follow, in the next weeks and months, to attempt to "groom" the American people for an attack against it.

Russian officials, both political and military, have stated, unequivocally, that should Iran be attacked, Russia will come to its aid militarily.

You know that archetypal dream of a slo-motion train wreck, which you can see building up, but are helpless to prevent it?!? That's kind of where this country is.

Russia And Iran Sign Oil-For-Goods Barter Deal; Escape Petrodollar

Iran signed an agreement with Russia under which it has broken free from the petrodollar, and will "sell", or rather barter crude oil to Russia in exchange for products. The announcement was made by Iran’s Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh, as reported by Russia’s RIA and TASS news agencies.

"The deal has been concluded. We are just waiting for the implementation from the Russian side. We have no difficulties; we signed the contract, everything is coordinated between the parties. We are waiting for Russian oil companies to send tankers,” he said, as quoted by Russian news agencies. While sanctions against Iran have been lifted, restrictions on trade in US dollars for the country's banks remain, making it difficult to sell oil on the open market.

Russia Calls House Bill Aimed at North Korea an “Act of War.” Will the Senate Block H.R. 1644?

If enacted, the bill would amend the North Korea Sanctions and Policy Enhancement Act of 2016 to increase the president’s powers to impose sanctions on anyone in violation of certain United Nations Security Council resolutions regarding North Korea. Specifically, it would allow for expanding sanctions to punish North Korea for its nuclear weapons programs by: targeting overseas individuals who employ North Korean “slave labor”; requiring the administration to determine whether North Korea was a state sponsor of terrorism and, most critically; authorizing a crackdown on North Korea’s use of international transit ports.

H.R. 1644 Targets Foreign Ports and Air Terminals

What caught the eye of Russian critics was Section 104, the part of the bill that presumed to grant the US “inspection authorities” over shipping ports (and major airports) far beyond the Korean Peninsula – specifically, ports in China, Russia, Syria, and Iran.

New US Sanctions Go Well Beyond the Boundaries of International Law

The Senate Foreign Relations Committee voted Thursday to impose new sanctions against Iran over its missile defense program and support for resistance groups that are fighting ISIL and Al-Qaeda.

Some Democrats and the former Obama administration officials have warned that the new actions could jeopardize the landmark nuclear deal struck with Tehran. The committee’s Republican chairman, Sen. Bob Corker of Tennessee, however, claims that the new sanctions would have no impact on the nuclear deal, which he opposed.

The bipartisan bill, which now has 48 Senate co-sponsors, imposes mandatory sanctions on people involved with Iran’s ballistic missile program and those who do business with them. It also applies alleged terrorism sanctions to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and enforces an arms embargo.

Arms Deal Stories Omit War Crimes Arms Will Be Used For

The Trump administration wrapped up a weapons deal with the Saudi Arabian government this week that will be worth up to $350 billion over the next ten years. News of the deal came as Trump visited Riyadh and paid fealty to one of the United States’ most enduring allies in the Middle East.

The vast majority of the reports on the topic, however, omitted a rather key piece of context—namely, whom the weapons will be used to kill.

Webmaster's Commentary:

These weapons will be used to complete the Saudi genocide in Yemen, and ultimately, the US and Israel are planning to use Saudi Arabia as a proxy force for a war against the Iranians.

Of course, the gorilla, napping, splayed out all over the Bosendorfer Grand Piano, is Russia; Russian civilian and military leadership has consistently promised Iran that it will come to its aid if it is attacked militarily.

A war against Russia over Iran?!?!?

Folks, this potential scenario is just about as serious as is a heart attack, and my assessment is that it is coming, sooner, rather than later.

That President Trump has thrown the US's lot in with a country with so vile a human rights record, that it makes Attila the Hun look downright compassionate in comparison, just boggles the mind.

But of course, both Israel and the Saudi government want regime change in Tehran, so, that is precisely what President Trump is going to attempt to get them, even though a war against Iran will most likely mean war with Russia.

And such a war is a war that the US military might not be able to win, because at this time in its history, the US military doesn't have the weaponry, the money, the troop strength, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war against Russia.

SYRIA - TRUTH SLIPS THROUGH IN THE NEW YORK TIMES - NATO PREPS TO FIGHT IRAN AND RUSSIA

The Islamic proxy forces of the "west", al-Qaeda under its various disguises, Ahar al-Sham and even ISIS are mostly done. The latest especially is no longer a capable military force but is reverting to guerilla levels of operation. Its final defeat will take a long time but it must and will be achieved by local forces.

Despite that the U.S. pressed on NATO members to let the NATO organization join its "fight against ISIS". The single NATO members were already part of the U.S. coalition. But NATO as an organization brings large scale command and control capabilities as well as additional resources. (All under U.S. control.)

Webmaster's Commentary:

A larger, regional, if not world war, is coming; we have been in the opening phases of that war for some time now, even though few will acknowledge it.

I am reminded of the second Sherlock Holmes movie, "A Game of Shadows", where the evil Moriarty makes the observation that war is coming, and he has the "lock" on both the bullets and the bandages: so it is with the West's military/industrial complex, which has metaphorically punctured President Trump's throat; swallowed whatever morality President Donald Trump ever had before he took his Oath of Office, and replaced it with the pure, immoral venom of war.

That President Trump has thrown America's lot in with Saudi Arabia, coupled with the huge arms deal he just signed off on, is appalling to me, on every possible level.

This, for a country where its human rights record makes Attila the Hun look downright compassionate in comparison?!?

There is utterly no doubt in my mind that some of those arms will be used to finish the Saudi's on-going genocide in Yemen, then be used against Iran, which is both Saudi Arabia's and Israel's "alleged existential threat" in the region.

And why?!? Because, since the revolution in 79, it has become a moderate, flourishing constitutional Islamic republic, where the rights of religious minorities are protected, and its people are succeeding.

Oh, and don't forget; Israel's government got a little "antsy" over the Saudi deal, so President Trump has just OK'd another $75 million dollars more for "Israeli defense", over and above the $38 billion dollar, 10 year deal deal, signed in December of last year.

PM says US agreed to boost Israel military aid amid concern over Saudi deal

So I give you President Donald "Moriarty" Trump, who firmly believes war is good for business, because our weapons are the only things people from other countries want to buy; and so, war is what he shall have.

Never mind that the US and its allies may well not win this war, particularly against Russia, because this country doesn't have the weaponry; the money, the troop strength; or the manufacturing to insure a victory in a conventional war against Russia.

John Kerry goes on tweetstorm as Senate eyes Iran legislation

Former Secretary of State John Kerry used his first “tweetstorm” as a retired diplomat to warn the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday to “tread carefully” on legislation regarding the future of the Iran nuclear deal.

“On the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), we engaged in an important back and forth. And I welcomed that debate,” Kerry wrote, referring to the Obama-era deal negotiated between the U.S. and five global powers with Tehran.

US arms deals will fail to make Saudi secure: Iran FM

"If past performance is an indicator of future success, another $110 billion worth of weapons will neither reduce 'the burden' on the American military nor support 'the long-term security of Saudi Arabia'," Zarif said in an article in the New York Times on Friday.

He added that Saudis provided billions to the former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein to arm his war of aggression against Iran in the 1980s, saying, "Look what that bought them and the world."

Iranian Drones Circling Above US Aircraft Carrier 'Getting on Pentagon's Nerves'

Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles are said to have become a fixture in the skies above the USS George H.W. Bush deployed to the Persian Gulf to take part in Washington's anti-Daesh efforts in the Middle East, political analyst Ilya Plekhanov wrote for Sputnik, adding that these surveillance missions have gotten on the Pentagon's nerves.

"Americans use this aircraft carrier to carry out airstrikes against Daesh targets in Iraq and Syria. Iranians use their drones to observe these operations, irritating US troops who are unable to do anything about it since they are in international waters," the analyst said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I certainly hope that no Naval commander in the Persian Gulf is going to go "all cowboy" on these Iranian drone deployments, and decide he's going to shoot them out of the sky "to teach those danged Iranians a lesson", despite the reality that the ships are sailing in international waters.

That huge weapons deal which President Trump has just inked with Saudi Arabia, coupled with the increase in funds for US defensive (and in their case, offensive) weapons capabilities to Israel, should be giving giving the Iranian government pause right now, in terms of defending itself from a proxy US/Saudi/Israeli attack against it, and just what Russia is prepared to do to prevent this from being successful, if such a thing actually happens.

If I were Iranian President Rouhani right now, I would be picking up a hot line to Russia's President Putin, and having a serious conversation about this possibility.

Trump's Trip and Taking Sides in the Middle East

... As usual, Iran is used as chief bogeyman, a habit that extends well beyond the Trump administration ... It is not Iran but instead another state [Israel] that has introduced nuclear weapons into the region and keeps the Middle East from becoming a nuclear weapons-free zone. Destabilizing activities? In the region's biggest ongoing conflict in Syria, Iran, rather than trying to upset the status quo, has been trying to preserve it by backing the incumbent regime, which has been in power for decades. The Saudis and other Gulf Arabs have been most aggressive in stoking rebellion, in the course of which they have shown little worry about aiding extremists in the process.

While Donald Trump boogied with Saudi princes, Iran was voting for openness and peace

What is there to say about Donald Trump’s maiden voyage to our great and glorious ally Saudi Arabia? The awkward white-guy shuffle was danced. Steve Bannon was bodily engulfed by Saudi royals. One of those orbs from “Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego?” was fondled. And…oh yeah, also an arms deal worth $110 billion was signed, as America reasserted its default blind eye towards Saudi empowerment of terrorism in Yemen, Syria, and beyond.

The Saudis are obsessed above all with their endless cold war versus Iran, and their main goal with Trump was to renew America as an accomplice to their side. While Trump was acquiescing to their cajolery, Iran was doing something the Saudis never have: holding a presidential election. And the message that emerged once the counting was done is clear: Iranians are ready for moderation, for openness, for their country’s relations with the West—locked in deep freeze since the Islamic Revolution in 1979—to at last begin to thaw.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Iran is moving forward, politically, socially and economically; Saudi Arabia is locked into the suffocating, sclerotic death-grip of a monarchy to whom the entire notion of free elections is a "terrorist" thought.

And yet with whom did President Trump throw the US's lot in with, in the Middle East?!?

Why, with Saudi Arabia, of course, the human rights record of which makes Attila the Hun look downright compassionate by comparison.

And now, the US government has armed it it to the teeth with weapons which will ultimately be used to both complete its genocide in Yemen, and ultimately, conduct a proxy war against Iran, which may well lead to war with Russia, as Russia has promised to defend it militarily, should it be attacked.

And Saudi King Salmon, a word please; the US government can turn from friend to frenemy to enemy on a dime.

Do you remember to what happened to the US's "former friend" in the region, Iraq's Saddam Hussein, when he was going to start accepting money other than the US dollar in payment for Iraq's oil?!?

He was accused of harboring "weapons of mass destruction", when he had none, his country got invaded and occupied, and he got assassinated.

I'm just saying.....

Petrodollars turning Middle East into West's arms depot: Iran official

A senior Iranian official has lashed out at certain countries for using petrodollars to turn the Middle East into a depository for Western weapons.

Speaking to reporters upon his arrival in the Russian capital Moscow on Tuesday, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Securit y Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said the world needs to distance itself from violent and extremist ideologies and measures but some countries, with their dark background of supporting terrorism, are using oil revenues of the Middle East to turn the region into a warehouse of Western weapons.

These countries are spreading insecurity and violence across the region, he added.

Ron Paul Warns Iran Is In The Crosshairs: "Neocons Are Still Writing The Script"

President Trump, voted in as an "outsider," has adopted the insider script.

Today's speech in Saudi Arabia was crafted by Trump's neocon Senior Policy Advisor Stephen Miller.

Miller's "long-time mentor" is David Horowitz. Here are Horowitz's thoughts on Bush's invasion of Iraq:

“Baghdad is liberated,” he wrote for his FrontPage Magazine in April 2003. “In the days to come let us not forget that if it were not for one man, and one man alone—George Bush—the people of Iraq would not be celebrating in the streets and pulling down Saddam’s statues today.

… We have entered the era of a new civil war between the forces of freedom and the powers of Islamo-fascist and communist darkness, and once again the left is clearly determined to take its stand on the other side. The good news is that America is back. Our military has performed superlatively. Our leadership has stood tall. We ourselves can celebrate over this and look confidently toward what lies ahead.”

Israeli Minister Hints At Coming War In Syria And Iran: “The Time Has Come To Assassinate Assad”

The Iranians have just deployed their S-300 missile system to military bases located on their borders. The S-300 system has the capability of taking down short and medium-range ballistic missiles and engaging upon 6 different targets with 12 missiles. The effective range of the S-300 is approximately 130 miles (200 km). They are also planning on upgrading their defenses with the S-400 missile system. Is this noteworthy? Perhaps it is when examined on the heels of this quote from the Israeli Minister of Housing today, as such, reported in Sputnik News on May 16:

BEX ALERT - At CNN, Imagining an Absurd Iranian/ISIS Alliance

CNN’s Anderson Cooper took issue with this last claim. “You can’t say definitively what Russia would have done with the information,” he insisted. To which Dershowitz replied, accurately enough: “They’re not giving it to ISIS. They’re not on talking terms.”

Axelrod chimed in: “What about Iran? Professor, what about Iran?” Cooper attempted to back up this claim:

Bashar al-Assad has certainly done things which are actually helpful to ISIS in Syria. It’s not as if Bashar al-Assad is fighting a war against ISIS.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Remember the run-up to the Iraq war, where the corporate media claimed Iraq and Al Qaeda were linked, then used the "Al Qaeda" attack on 9-11 to justify invading Iraq? We are seeing a repeat with this attempt to link ISIS to Iran in the public eye.

Saudi-Led 'Arab NATO' 'Will Destabilize Mideast, Unleash Massive War in Region'

President Trump has kicked off his first foreign tour, with Saudi Arabia as his main stop. There, he will meet with leaders from across the Muslim world. Commenting on the trip, political scientist Veronika Krasheninnikova warned that if the US goes ahead with plans for a Saudi-led 'Arab NATO', it would destabilize the Middle East and lead to war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

War, with which to ultimately regime change Damascus, and also Tehran, is precisely the point here.

Trump Puts US on Sunni Muslim Side of Bitter Sectarian War with Shias

The most important aspect of Mr Trump’s two-day visit to Saudi Arabia is that it took place at all. He chose to go first to the world’s most thorough-going autocracy where his speech will be lauded by the state-controlled media.

Almost all of the 55 Muslim rulers and leaders in the vast hall in Riyadh will have breathed a little easier on hearing Mr Trump’s repeated call “to drive out terrorism”, since they have always described anybody who opposes their authority as “terrorists”.

This will be a green-light to people like Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi to go on imprisoning and torturing Muslim Brotherhood members. American pressure on the ruling Sunni minority in Bahrain to stop persecuting the Shia majority was always tame, but Mr Trump’s praise for the island’s rulers may make the situation even worse.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Again, military conflict against Iran will most probably mean war with Russia, as Russian politicians and military personnel have been publicly very vocal on the notion, that if Iran gets attacked militarily, Russia will come to its aid.

Trump & 55 Muslim-majority states sign pact pledging 34,000 troops to fight ISIS in Iraq & Syria

The US and Middle Eastern countries have backed a new pact that promises to provide extra troops for defeating Islamic State, singles out Iran for destabilizing the region, and says that Riyadh is to become the heart of the region’s counter-terrorism operations.

Described as the Riyadh Declaration, the document was signed following US President Donald Trump’s visit to the Saudi capital for a summit that brought in Islamic representatives from 55 countries, and vowed “to combat terrorism in all its forms, address its intellectual roots, dry up its sources of funding and to take all necessary measures to prevent and combat terrorist crimes in close cooperation among their states.”

The exact membership of what the communique called the Middle East Strategic Alliance will be decided next year, but putative members have committed to assembling “a reserve force of 34,000 troops to support operations against terrorist organizations in Iraq and Syria when needed.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

A short translation of the "Riyadh Declaration"; increased war against Syria, by which none of these countries have been invited to assist it in getting rid of jihadists, leading to regime change in Damascus, and ultimately war against Iran.

And the big question I have here, is if things escalate in Syria, and if there is ultimately a war against Iran, what will Russia do, in light of its efforts to defend the Al-Assad government, and has consistently stated that should Iran be attacked militarily, it will come to Iran's aid?!?

I can tell you very clearly, what Putin, Medvedev, and the Russian Duma will NOT do, as a response to such provocations; join hands and sing "Kumbyah"!!

Tillerson calls on Rouhani to stop Iran’s ballistic missile tests

US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has called on Iranian President Hassan Rouhani to end the country’s ballistic missile tests in what is Washington’s first reaction to his re-election.

Tillerson made the remarks during a joint news conference with his Saudi counterpart on Saturday following Rouhani’s landslide election victory and winning a second term in office through presidential polls held on Friday.

He repeated a Western accusation that Iran supports terrorism, saying, "What I would hope, is that Rouhani... use that (new) term to begin a process of dismantling Iran's network of terrorism, dismantling its financing of the terrorist network, dismantling the manning and the logistics and everything that they provide to these destabilizing forces that exist in this region."

THERE IS SOMETHING DEEPLY WRONG WITH WHAT YOU DO WHEN EVEN SATAN FEELS THE NEED TO DISTANCE HIMSELF FROM YOU:

The Saudis and their Wahhabi brethren in Qatar are the root of extremist Takfiri terrorism all over the world. They finance the most radical and brutal groups of conservative Muslim head-choppers. This includes the Taliban in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the culprits of 9/11, al-Qaeda, ISIS and whatever may be their next incarnation.

The U.S. knows this. Trump knows this. An email Hillary Clinton sent to her election campaign manager John Podesta correctly noted:

[...] the governments of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, [..] are providing clandestine financial and logistic support to ISIL and other radical Sunni groups in the region.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This weapons deal was a very, very bad idea, and one which will most likely see US/Russian military conflict in both Syria and Iran, ultimately.

I don't know what the Vegas odds are about the US government reinstituting the draft, but were I a betting woman, I would not bet against that, nor against it happening in the relatively near future.

FRINGE NEOCON WROTE TRUMP’S SAUDI SPEECH

If there is any doubt Trump was captured early on by the neocons, one only need to look at the speech he delivered in Saudi Arabia.

The 30 minute speech was written by Senior Policy Adviser Stephen Miller, an ally of former Breitbart executive Stephen Bannon and former Breitbart writer Julia Hahn.

Miller organized and promoted “Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week” while a student at Duke University. He worked with the notorious neocon firebrand David Horowitz at the time. Josefin Dolton writes:

As a college student, Miller wrote a biweekly column for the The Duke Chronicle, addressing such topics as terrorism, US foreign policy and political correctness. Defending President George W. Bush’s war in Iraq, Miller wrote that “Islamic terrorists have declared holy war on the United States. They have declared a death sentence on every man, woman and child living in this country.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Why am I not surprised at this?!?

It has been the Neocon/Israeli/American Deep State's collective desire, ever since the 1979 Iranian revolution, to invade and balkanise this country, for its "temerity" in having overthrown the US-imposed, brutal dictator, the Shah.

Since that time, Iran has been making steady economic and social progress, even though I profoundly disagree with their not allowing women to major in some specific areas in college.

Universities in Iran Put Limits on Women's Options

It's interesting that the US has embraced its former enemy, Vietnam, as a major trading partner, but not Iran; and the primary reason for that is that Israel considers it their "existential threat" in the region, and wants it destroyed, by any means necessary.

What is that phrase heard so frequently in the Middle East, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend"?!?

This is why Israel is not complaining too strenuously about the huge military aid package President Trump just approved for Saudi Arabia, because it sees Saudi Arabia as a US proxy to take down Iran militarily.

US STRIKE ON SYRIAN FORCES: THE SCRAMBLE FOR POST-ISLAMIC STATE SYRIA

The tactical scope of the attack was relatively limited, but strategically, the stakes particularly along Syria's territorial boundaries have been raised significantly.

Regarding the attack, US geopolitical analysts appear unanimous regarding the rhyme and reason behind it.

Foreign Policy magazine in a recent article claimed that the strike "showed American commanders are willing to use force to maintain de facto safe zones in the country’s east." The article also attempts to claim these "safe zones" are being used to stand up forces to fight the Islamic State.

In reality, the Islamic State was a creation of the US and its regional allies and meant specifically to "isolate the Syrian regime," according to a 2012 US Defense Intelligence Agency report.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The question reverberating in my head, is how long before US and Russian forces actually start to engage, because their objectives in Syria are polar opposites?!?

The US wants "regime change" in Damascus, to make it easier to ultimately invade Iran, but Russia wants to defend and support the government of Bashar al-Assad; these two objectives are completely mutually exclusive.

It is not, at this point, a question of if this is going to happen; only, when it is going to happen.

US stirring up ‘Iranophobia’ to boost arms sales to Arab nations – Tehran

US President Donald Trump has deliberately accused Tehran of sponsoring extremist groups in the Middle East in order to stir up “Iranophobia” and boost American arms sales in the region, Iran’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“Once again, by his repetitive and baseless claims about Iran, the American president... tried to encourage the countries of the [Middle East] region to purchase more arms by spreading Iranophobia,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi said a day after Trump sealed a massive arms deal with Iran’s arch-rival, Saudi Arabia, worth $110 billion.

SPECIAL: Jared Kushner Working for Israel to Enable Saudi Arabian Nuclear Attack Against Iran UPDATE 2: Gulf NATO to Wage War on Iran & Syria

ROBERT STEELE: I have learned from a person I trust that Jared Kushner is being used by Israel to rapidly enable Saudi Arabian nuclear attack capability against Iran. In his recent call to the Lockheed CEO asking for a 12% discount (it should have been 50%) on Lockheed’s missile defense system, Kushner was overheard discussing the arming of the Saudis with nuclear missiles with what sounded like an Israeli intelligence officer. See the Updates. Donald Trump is becoming impeachable by We the People.

My source tells me that the Israeli’s believe they can incite a limited nuclear war between Saudi Arabia and Iran, and that the nuclearization of Saudi Arabia will discourage Russia from deepening its support of Syria while also serving as a threat against Iran.

HERE’S WHY SAUDI ARABIA AND ISRAEL ARE ALLIES IN ALL BUT NAME

Those who claim that Israel is opposed to Donald Trump’s now openly warm relations with Saudi Arabia are missing the actual point. On the surface, many assume that Israel and Saudi Arabia have poor relations. Neither country has diplomatic relations with one another, one is a self-styled Jewish state while the other is a Wahhabi Sunni monarchy.

But they both have the same regional goals, they both have the same enemies and both are intellectual anachronisms in a 20th century that has seen the fall of multiple monarchies, the end of traditional European colonialism and the fall of segregated regimes in Africa (Apartheid South Africa and UDI Rhodesia for example).

Both countries also seek to destroy Iran. Iran unlike Saudi Arabia and Israel, practices an ethical foreign policy. Far from wanting to export its Islamic Revolution, Iran has been a staunch ally to secular Syria and has been at the forefront of the fight against Salafist terrorism like ISIS and al-Qaeda.

TALKING TACTICS, LACKING STRATEGY - THE GENERALS ON SYRIA AND IRAQ

On Friday Secretary of Defense [General ret.] Mattis, General Dunford and Special Envoy McGurk on the Campaign to Defeat ISIS held a press briefing. A transcript is available.

My first thought after reading its was: "These people live in a different world. They have no idea how the real word works on the ground. What real people think, say, and are likely to do." There was no strategic thought visible. Presented were only some misguided tactical ideas.

One purpose of the briefing was obviously to souse the Saudis in preparation of Trumps weapons sales campaign there. There was no mention at all of any (Saudi financed) Jihadis in Syria or elsewhere besides ISIS. Questions about Kurdish or Iraqi paramilitary groups were answered with trash talk about Iran.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One might think think, with all the blood and money already spent, there would be some grand, strategic plan the US military has come up with to counter the growth of ISIS in Iraq and Syria (where the US government has not been invited, thank you very much); unfortunately, there appear to be snippets of conflicting ideas about what should be done; what can, reasonably be done; and a general unwillingness to confess that ISIS is very much a Frankenstein-like creature created by elements of the US government.

In Afghanistan, Civilian Casualties Happen by Design, Not by Accident

Even the waves of so-called “terrorists attacks” in Germany, Holland and France last year underscores that these are the conspiracy theories aimed at continuous war in Syria and elsewhere. Many Europeans would still keep faith with the war-mongers’ cooked-up stories and back the US and NATO’s intervention in Syria. The sole purpose of all these planned attacks was and is to demonize the Islamic State or Al-Qaeda and draw a whole support to wage a filthy war against “the nations” where these terrorists operate.

Unrest in Afghanistan is a recipe for more US weapons’ sales to war-exposed countries, viable drug trafficking that generates a profit far beyond measure, unearthing of underground resources worth of several trillion dollars, restraining of the regional military and economic rival powers and so others.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The sickening rhythm of "invade; regime change; occupy; expropriate resources; and insure those resources are only sold in US dollars" continues, unabated.

And in his weekend trip to Saudi Arabia, with that ginormous US arms deal he greenlit, it appears that President Trump is setting up that country for a proxy war against Iran, to regime change that country as well.

But there is one minor problem; in both Syria, and Iran, Russia's leadership has pledged both countries to resist any attempt at regime change; and the Russian military is very formidable, at this point in its history.

War with Russia over Syria and Iran?!?

That's precisely where the US government and military are headed right now, and unless there are some American leaders willing to bring some semblance of sanity back to DC, it is not a question of if, but when, such wars will happen.

Iran Charges Russia With Selling Out its Air Defense Secrets to Israel

An Iranian government official claimed earlier this week that its Russian-made air defenses were compromised by Moscow, leaving Iran and its allies defenseless against Israeli airstrikes. An engineer with Tehran's Ministry of Defense alleged that codes forcing anti-aircraft missiles to treat hostile Israeli fighters as friendly were sold to Tel Aviv, effectively neutralizing Syria and Iran's S-300 surface-to-air missile systems.

An Iranian official, described by the Jerusalem Post as a senior member of Iran's Defense Ministry, told the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida that Russia had sold "codes" to Israel that identified Israeli aircraft as friendly. The codes were used by Israel to prevent its aircraft from being targeted. Israel has flown dozens of air raids over Syria, and despite advanced air defenses, only the latest raid, flown last Friday, involved an actual missile launch.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I rather doubt this was an official Russian "sale" as opposed to the codes being stolen. But now we know why those Israeli planes were not shot at by the S-300s!

Israeli Minister Hints At Coming War In Syria And Iran: “The Time Has Come To Assassinate Assad”

The Syrian situation is one that has been both fostered and created in part by the United States. ISIS is a creation of the American State Department under Obama. The U.S. wanted to take northwestern Syria to enable a natural gas pipeline to be run from Qatar into Europe. This would have accomplished several things. The move would have taken the monopoly away from Russian energy giant Gazprom by supplying gas to Europe via Qatar.

Netanyahu Seeks ‘Dirty Harry’ Moment With Iran as Trump Arrives

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wants to persuade President Donald Trump to impose tough new sanctions on Iran for threatening Israel with ballistic missiles and bankrolling terrorism, a close adviser said.

The restrictions would aim to inflict damage in the same way that blocking money transfers did before Iran signed the 2015 agreement to curtail its nuclear program, said Michael Oren, a deputy cabinet minister to Netanyahu and his former ambassador to the U.S. The Israeli leader was among the most outspoken opponents of the deal and relishes the prospect of renewed confrontation if Iran violates its terms, he said.

That’s a ‘Dirty Harry’ moment,” Oren said in an interview on Thursday in Tel Aviv, referring to the style of brinkmanship adopted by Clint Eastwood’s detective in the 1971 movie. “You have to exact a price for Iranian behavior.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. Prime Minister, a word please; haven't you and your political supporters been threatening Iran with harm, and do you not have specific weapons focused on Tehran yourself?!?

This is a pot/kettle/black moment in your foreign policy.

You could tamper down the hostility in a heartbeat, and you know it; when the next Iranian President is elected, as a result of this week's elections, you could visit Tehran with a peace and trade deal that could be an incredible win/win for both countries, at so many levels.

But you won't because of that hubris, and your insistence that the US military "take care" of Iran for you, and that the blood and money spent on this issue should only be American; never Israeli.

TRUMP TO ANNOUNCE $350 BILLION ARMS DEAL DURING SAUDI ARABIA VISIT

Over the past few weeks there’ve been multiple reports of President Trump planning to unveil a massive arms sale to Saudi Arabia during his Riyadh visit, and the figures have kept rising. What was $100 billion earlier this week is now, according to the most recent reports $350 billion.

That would make it one of the largest arms deals in US history, and realistically in world history, and indications are that President Trump intends to present this as part of the push for the creation of “Arab NATO,” and by extension make it about Sunni Arabs confronting Iran.

This single deal would dwarf President Obama’s arms deals throughout his entire term in office, which are estimated at $200 billion, and are themselves the biggest amount of arms sales by any administration in the post war era. Saudi Arabia was a large buyer then, as well.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This deal puts the US and Saudi government and military on a collision course with Russia, whose political and military leaders have pledged to come to Iran's aid, if attacked militarily.

This deal also drives up the very real possibility that there will be a return of the draft in this country, both for its young women, and its young men, because we do not have the troop strength, the weaponry, the manufacturing, or the money right now to successfully combat Russia in a conventional war.

May 17 12:26

Trump’s Plan Finally Becomes Clear. “War is Good for Business”

The first stage of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan to restore America’s former dominance as a “manufacturing country” will be announced this coming weekend in Riyadh Saudi Arabia and Washington DC, but its outlines are now already more than clear.

The biggest-ever foreign sale of U.S.-made weaponry will be announced at that time, and, according to a little-noticed report by Reuters on May 12th, an unidentified U.S. government official informed Reuters that “We are in the final stages of a series of deals,” whose size will be of truly extraordinary historic proportions.

Trump will announce during this, his first trip abroad as the U.S. President, starting on Friday May 19th, deals for the fundamentalist-Sunni government of Saudi Arabia to purchase more than $100 billion, and perhaps more even than $300 billion, in U.S.-made weaponry.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF, in fact, this analysis is true (and I tend to agree with this author), we are looking at generations of endless war and destruction,so long as nuclear annihilation is not triggered.

But when the American military understands that they do not have the weaponry, the troop strength, the money, or the manufacturing to assure a conventional victory against whoever is the "victim du jour" of those in the bowels of power in the Unhinged Surveilled States of America, that is when those little brass keys will be turned to unleash this country's nuclear arsenal.

Does anyone remember the Sherlock Holmes film " Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows", in which the evil Professor Moriarty was eager to see a war, any war, start in Europe, because he had a lock on both the bullets and the bandages, and would profit handsomely from the outcome of such a war?!?

The cold, hard reality here is that it won't be Donald Trump who will profit directly from these deals with Saudi Arabia; but his big-time military/industrial complex friends will , and that means big time donations to his re-election campaign, assuming he stays in office.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you....President Donald "Moriarty" Trump.

Jewish life in Iran was 'always better than in Europe'

In Iran it is prohibited by law to have any contact to Israel. Is that difficult for you as Jew?

According to our religious teachings, we must obey the laws of the country we live in. And being a Jew is very different from being a Zionist. There are - and have always been - Jews all around the world who are very critical of the behavior of Israel's government and army. Being a Jew means we must obey Torah and Talmud. Invading other countries and killing innocent people are not Moses' teachings. We cannot accept Israel's behavior as Jewish; it is a political and not a religious movement. I personally think that, as the victims of the greatest genocide in the world, Jews should have more empathy with the Palestinian people.

Jewish life in Iran was 'always better than in Europe'

Iran is frequently at odds with Israel, despite having the second biggest Jewish community in the Middle East. DW's Theresa Tropper spoke with the director of Tehran's Jewish Committee, about why that is the case.

DW: How is life as a Jew in the Islamic Republic?

Siamak Morsadegh: It's a lot better than many people think. Jews are a recognized minority here, so we can practice our religion freely. We have more than 20 working synagogues in Tehran and at least five kosher butcheries. In some European countries that is not allowed because of animal rights. In Iran, it is.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Beautifully said, and eloquently spoken!!!

But this has been a source of friction for the Israeli government for years, because Jews in Iran generally are living so well that they see no point in "making Aliyah" (immigrating) to Israel.

Unfortunately, the government in Tehran is in Israel's crosshairs, and the Israelis are slobbering all over themselves to figure out a way to regime change Iran; and also unfortunately, President Trump may just attempt to do this before he leaves office, potentially putting the US military squarely in confrontation with Russia, whose military and civilian leadership have always said that should Iran be attacked, it will come to Iran's aid.

And to that potential end, comes the following, very disturbing story from 13 May of this year:

War with Iran Seems Likely as Trump Cosies Up with Saudi Arabia

Such a war would very likely see the return of the draft in this country, for both our young men and our young women, as our troops are stretched so thinly right now.

MAJOR BEXALERT!!! : Syrian regime using crematorium to 'cover up' mass murders, State Department says

This is pathetic. The snow is melting so the building is a crematorium! Gotcha!

The Syrian regime is using a site outside Damascus to cremate the bodies of thousands of prisoners it has abducted, jailed and murdered during the country’s long-running civil war, the U.S. State Department alleged Monday.

Acting Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs Stuart Jones showed surveillance photos that -- combined with intelligence assessments and other reports -- officials believe show Bashar Assad’s government is complicit in covering up evidence of mass killings at the Sednaya Prison. Located near Damascus, the prison previously has been called a "human slaughterhouse" by Amnesty International.

Jones also charged that the “atrocities” were carried out “with unconditional support” from Russia and Iran.

The U.S. conclusion is based in part on photos that show snow melting near the building believed to be the crematorium.

US Fighter Pilots Set to Fly Israeli Skies in Joint Air Force Drills

The US Army has confirmed that Israeli and US pilots will be engaging joint drills this week at Uvda Air Force Base near the Israeli city of Eliat. Aircrews will be trained in a number of exercises at the base’s advance facilities while other squadrons train in the Negev Desert.

While the role of enemy aircraft will be played by the Israel Defense Forces' "Flying Dragon" or "Red" Squadron, based at Uvda, teams will operate “enemy” missile launchers and radars and infantry troops will be acting as terrorists, according to the Jerusalem Post. Haaretz reported that a number of F-15 fighters have already been sent over by the US; the "Flying Dragon" squad flies F-16 jets.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have to wonder here who the potential "targets" are supposed to be; but right now, were I a betting person, I would bet either Iran or Syria, or perhaps both.

But the problem here, stretched out on the Bosendorfer, and napping for the moment, is the 6,000 LB gorilla in the living room, and that is the presence of Russia in Syria, and Russia's oft-stated promise to assist Iran militarily, should a foreign government attempt to invade it.

That those collectively in the bowels of power in both the Unhinged State of America, and Tel Aviv, should even be "thinking" in this direction is collective, hubristic madness.

Iran minister warns Saudi Arabia after 'battle' comments: Tasnim

Iran will hit back at most of Saudi Arabia with the exception of Islam's holiest places if the kingdom does anything "ignorant", Tehran's defense minister was quoted as saying on Sunday after a Saudi prince threatened to move the "battle" to Iran.

"If the Saudis do anything ignorant, we will leave no area untouched except Mecca and Medina," Iranian Defence Minister Hossein Dehghan was quoted by the semi-official Tasnim news agency as saying.

"They think they can do something because they have an air force," he added in an apparent reference to Yemen, where Saudi warplanes regularly attack Iran-aligned Houthi forces in control of the capital Sanaa.

Dehghan, speaking to Arabic-language Al-Manar TV, was commenting on remarks by Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who said on Tuesday any contest for influence between the Sunni Muslim kingdom and the revolutionary Shi'ite theocracy ought to take place "inside Iran, not in Saudi Arabia".

Webmaster's Commentary:

To the current Iranian government; a word, please.

With President Trump's current "bromance" with the House of Saud, in terms of allowing US weapons to be sold to the Saudi Military, at massive profits for American weapons manufacturers, were I Iranian Defence Minister Hossein Dehghan, I would, perhaps, speak a little more cautiously.

The Deep American State elements of the Unhinged States of America, would love nothing better than to find a justification for a military attack against Iran; attacking Saudi Arabia would give them just such an excuse.

Iranian Defence Minister seriously warned Saudi Arabian rulers that if they do anything wrong, the Islamic Republic will hit back almost all areas in the Arab country, except for Mecca and Medina.

“If the Saudis do anything ignorant, we will leave no area untouched except [holiest Islamic cities] Mecca and Medina,” Iranian Defence Minister Hossein Dehqan told the Lebanese TV channel Al Manar on Sunday.

“They think they can do something because they have an air force,” he added.

His remarks came in reaction to Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who said on Tuesday any contest for influence between Tehran and Riyadh must take place “inside Iran, not in Saudi Arabia”.

The USS George H.W. Bush, an American aircraft carrier parked perpetually off the coast of Iran, appears to have attracted the attention of Iran, and officials say that Iran’s use of surveillance drones to keep an eye on the massive US warship is a “nuisance.”

Officials also hyped the presence of small Iranian naval boats operating off the coast of Iran, claiming them to be “naked aggression” for sometimes being close to the US carrier, despite also appearing to have never actually left Iranian waters by all indications.

US officials have repeatedly made a big deal about Iran having ships off their own coast, while Iranian officials have responded by saying that they think a better question is why the US warships are 7,500 miles away from their own territorial waters, and constantly looming around Iran’s coasts.

US House Bill on Port Controls Amounts to 'Declaration of War' - Russian Senator

A US House of Representatives bill establishing control over the Russian Far East ports envisions a show of force and thus amounts to a declaration of war, the chairman of the Russian upper house of parliament's international committee told Sputnik.

"This bill, I hope will never be implemented because its implementation envisions a scenario of power with forced inspections of all vessels by US warships," Konstantin Kosachev said Friday.

His comments follow the reported passage on Thursday of a House bill enhancing sanctions against North Korea, outlining "inspection authorities" over Chinese, Iranian, Syrian and Russian ports. The latter include the ports of Nakhodka, Vanino and Vladivostok.

Every failed missile test or official warning by North Korean state media against attacking them is a new excuse for the US to offer loud condemnations and new threats, and while the US also likes to threaten Iran, they really haven’t had much in thew way of excuses for doing so in recent weeks.

Pentagon officials are looking to resolve that with testimony to Congress claiming that Iranian missiles look suspiciously similar to North Korean missiles. They don’t offer any proof, of course, that this means anything about them having a common origin, but this is clearly the connection Congress is meant to make.

The attempts at “sort of” connections continued throughout the testimony, with officials citing a North Korean submarine missile launch and noting that Iran is also working on the idea of firing missiles from submarines. Attempts to ratchet up the tensions didn’t stop there.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am having an industrial-strength, John-Luc Picard face-palm moment, upon reading this, and at warp speed

Because, apparently, at the Pentagon, there is not a single solitary soul who understands the concept of form following function.

Because, given what a missile is supposed to do, it would be obvious that the Iranian and North Korean missiles would look "somewhat similar", because they were engineered to achieve the same objective, even without the sharing of technologies!!

And why in the name of Heaven would Iran be reaching out to North Korea for such technology, which the North Koreans have extensive problems with staging, and guidance?!?! I mean, come on; this is ludicrous on the face of such an accusation!!!

But this attempt to demonize an alleged link between North Korean weapons programs and Iranian weapons programs, concerns me greatly, because it signals an uptick in hostilities against both of them, potentially and ultimately leading to war.

BEXALERT!: Iran fake news prepares the ground for assassination

This article is a not so subtle attempt to frame up Iran for something they didn't do in anticipation of an attack on Iran. It has the stinky smell of Israel on it!

The IRGC are the main backers of Bashar al-Assad's bloody civil war in Syria, the brutal Shi'ia militias in Iraq, the Houthi rebels in Yemen and the terrorist Hezbollah in Lebanon. There is talk in Washington that the United States may shortly designate the IRGC as an international terrorist organization. SENATE QUIETLY DROPS RUSSIAN SANCTIONS BILL, FOCUSES ON IRAN CRACKDOWN

Much to the likely chagrin of the mainstream media, and Democratic Party blame narratives everywhere, Politico reports that the leaders of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee have reached a decision that’s sure to disappoint Russia hawks: They’re not taking up a Russia sanctions bill anytime soon.

Instead, Committee Chairman Bob Corker of Tennessee and ranking Democrat Ben Cardin of Maryland have agreed to move forward on a measure to counter Russian influence in Eastern Europe without using sanctions as well as an Iran sanctions bill.

“The ranking member and I are in strong agreement on a pathway forward and that's what we're going to do. We're going to do an Iran sanctions bill. It'll be done toward the end of this work period. We're also working together on a bill to push back against Russia in Europe and what they're doing, and those are the two courses of action that we're taking.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

And Russia is doing... precisely WHAT, please, in Europe which needs to be pushed back against?!?

Do these men not understand the degree to which NATO has surrounded Russia with their troops?!?

Is it, possibly, that European countries are angry about the sanctions against Russia, placed there by the US for what it ABSOLUTELY DID NOT DO, i. e., the alleged "annexation of Crimea", which, in the spirit of UN-sanctioned peaceful self-determination, decided to leave Ukraine after the 2014 US/EU/IMF/Soros-sponsored putsch left the corrupt kleptocrat Poroshenko in charge of the country?!?

Such anger at the economic strictures places on European businesses by these US and EU sanctions is both reasonable, economically, and completely justifiable.

And sanctioning Iran " in retaliation for Iran’s ballistic missile development, support for U.S.-designated terrorist groups and human rights violations."?!?!?

Precisely what are these US-designated terrorist groups they allegedly support?!?

Iran and state-sponsored terrorism

Yes, I can see the list; but where is the proof of such activities, which should be here?!?

And why in the world is Israel here, as a "victim" of alleged Iranian aggression?!? Israel has nuclear weapons, which Iran does not. Iran is a signatory to the NNPT, which Israel is not, but that's not the point.

In creating this bill, Bob Corker of Tennessee and ranking Democrat Ben Cardin of Maryland have done the work requested of them by their Israeli masters, and that is to attempt to further demonise Iran in the eyes of Americans, as well as the world.

But gentlemen, a word, please; this is not working at all, and further cements the perception in both your states and of your brother and sister Americans, that you are completely under the thrall and control of a foreign government.

Israel consistently calls out Iran as its existential threat in the region; one which the US military must "regime change", and soon; but of course, this, in the eyes of the government of Tel Aviv, should only be done with American blood and money.

Both Bob Corker and Ben Cardin understand that Russia's support for Syria and Iran, is unwavering, and believe, cynically, that they can demonise Russia in the eyes of Americans by luring them into conflict with US troops in both countries; that is precisely what they want to see happen.

But I would like to strongly caution both Senators that this is an officially horrible idea; at this moment in its history, the American military doesn't have the troop strength; the weaponry; the money; or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to a war against Russia.

Petrodollar Faces Growing Threat From the East. Payments in Gold Across Asia

While the recent raft of Sino-Saudi trade agreements benefited Chinese soft power in protecting Xinjiang, and the Saudis by diversifying their economy, China’s slow intertwining with Saudi Arabia complements the Sino-Russian alliance. Primarily, its benefits could lead to a realistic threat to the petrodollar.

The Persian rival who showed the way

In 2012/2013, the US Treasury Department, under the Obama administration, initiated a raft of sanctions in an amateurish fashion against the Central Bank of Iran. As we were told, it was done to tire and bleed Iranian economic and social life enough to draw Tehran into negotiations concerning its nuclear programme. The argument of were they/weren’t they pursuing a weaponized nuclear program isn’t important; how the Iranians circumvented these sanctions is.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Is this why we are seeing more and more demonization of Iran, to prevent it from finding more loopholes in US sanctions, and trading in a real commodity, rather than the dollar, which has absolutely no real backing behind it?!?

‘Safe Zone’ In Syria: A Ploy to Ignite a New Battle Front

It hardly comes as a surprise anymore that the US and its allies in the Middle East are seeking to partition Syria in whichever means possible. However, the anti-American alliance of Syria, Russia, Iran, and Hezbollah dubbed the “Axis of Resistance” stands to oppose that division.

‘With Syria in pieces, it’s time to recognize Israel’s Annexation of the Golan’ read a headline at the Jerusalem Post on April 20 citing Israeli Deputy Minister for diplomacy Michael Oren who claimed that it is time for the world to recognize the Golan Heights as part of the Israeli entity. Even the Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu reaffirmed his country’s claim over the Golan Heights during summit talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin last month on March 10, 2017. Netanyahu blatantly claimed that the occupied “Golan is part of Israel and we will stay there for the world to acknowledge it as so”.

Alasdair Macleod Reveals America’s Financial War Strategy

America’s renewed desire to escalate military tensions is a front for America’s continual financial war, this time directed at North Korea, Syria and possibly Iran. This is likely to be the opinion of China’s strategic advisors. We analyse the geopolitics and economics behind America’s war strategy from China’s perspective, concluding that it is entering its final phase. China’s exit plan appears to be to tie the pricing of energy and then other major commodities to gold, returning to the pre-1971 status quo, when the dollar was just a settlement link between commodity prices and gold. Except this time, the dollar itself will be side-lined, so far as China is concerned, which will use the yuan instead for its empire, which will be far larger than that of the US in time, measured by GDP.

FLASHBACK - WHY IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IRAN OR NORTH KOREA (OR ANYONE ELSE) HAS A NUCLEAR BOMB

Those that insist that Iraq's weapons of mass destruction were a threat that justified invasion, or that Iran's or North Korea's weapons of mass destruction are a threat that justifies new invasions, are in essence admitting that the US Government took $5 trillion of your money (over $17,000 from each of you alive today) in a gigantic swindle, because the $5 trillion nuclear deterrent isn't a deterrent after all, that it doesn't work, that nobody is really afraid of it, because they all know it was just a hoax to soak the American taxpayer for another several thousand dollars.

Was it all a hoax, Mr. Trump? Did the American people foot a $5 trillion bill in 1950s dollars for a deterrent system that isn't really a deterrent?

U.S. SIGNALS GREATER INVOLVEMENT IN SAUDI-LED WAR IN YEMEN

Secretary of Defense James Mattis said last week that the U.S. would increase its involvement in the Saudi-led war in Yemen, a war that has claimed the lives of 4,000 civilians in two years and drawn international criticism for war crimes committed by the Saudis.

As the Trump administration’s foreign policy continues to push the U.S. closer to a new war, Secretary of Defense James Mattis announced last week that the U.S. is set to increase support for Saudi Arabia’s war in Yemen, a war that has drawn international condemnation for the Saudis’ frequent bombings of civilian infrastructure like schools and hospitals.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Sec-Def Mattis, a word, please.

The level of Iranian assistance to the Houthi rebels has been a very hard bit to pin down.

And if you really want to identify the most destabilising culprit in the Middle East, who is the trouble maker par excellence, you have to look no further than the country of Israel, which was cheerleading for the war against Iraq, and is currently campaigning to ratchet up the war against Al-Assad in Syria, and to regime change Iran (and for Tel Aviv, these actions always should be purchased with American blood and money; never their own.)

In the meanwhile, there is a question I must ask you, even if others fear asking it: how morally comfortable are you, please, in the US government's being complicit in Saudi war crimes in Yemen?!?

The Saudis are killing and maiming innocent children with their bombing runs.
The US military is providing "guidance" for these strikes.

images: Yemeni children killed and maimed through Saudi bombing strikes

Yemeni children are being starved to death through malnutrition, because of US-Enabled, Saudi blockades of Yemeni ports:

Saudi coalition using depleted uranium weapons in Yemen

The result of this use of DU is causing massive rises in cancer rates; stillbirths, and horrific deformities of Yemeni children:

Images: Yemeni children born with horrific birth defects due to exposure to depleted uranium weapons

And yet, apparently, the Royal House of Saud; the Saudi government; and the US government, and you, sir, are perfectly comfortable with poisoning Yemeni children in the womb, and destroying not only their lives, but their families' lives as well. If there is a more cruel form of child abuse, I cannot imagine what that is.

I am profoundly reminded, in this obscenely callous disregard for human life as reflected in these Saudi military tactics, of the comment made by the Papal Legate at the siege of Montsegur against the Cathars, when he was informed that not only men were in the besieged castle, but women and children were also with them. He said, "Kill them all; God will find his own."

I just have to wonder when the massive air strikes, coupled with US boots on the ground, will accomplish this Saudi genocide in Yemen. And my sense of it is, relatively soon.

And by the way, Sec-Def Mattis: are you going to be informing our military who will comprise the "boots on the ground" element of the US military's plan to obliterate the Yemeni people in full, that if they are deployed to Yemen, they and their families also risk exposure to DU, and that their kids may well be born with precisely the same birth defects we are seeing in Yemeni children, and we did with the Iraqi children of Fallujah?!?

Thought not.

Netanyahu Meets Mattis, Lauds 'Change in U.S. Leadership, Policy' in Mideast

Meeting took place after U.S. defense chief Mattis sat down with Israeli counterpart in Tel Aviv, said Iran continues to threaten Israel with ballistic missiles.

U.S. Secretary of Defense James Mattis and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met in Jerusalem on Friday.

Prior to the meeting Netanyahu said that he sees a "great change" in the direction of U.S. policy in the Middle East, lauding Mattis and President Donald Trump's recent statements on Iran as well as U.S. action against Syria's use of chemical weapons. "It's appreciated around the world and in our region," Netanyahu said, according to a press release.

"I think this is a welcome change, a strategic change in U.S. leadership and policy," the prime minister said, according to the press release.
Netanyahu also said that Israel and the U.S. both face the "double threat" of "radical Islam," referring to Iran and ISIS.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I've just done a double-palmed faceplant, at warp speed, upon reading this.

IF Tehran has ballistic missiles pointed at Israel, don't tell me for one second that Israel doesn't have ballistic missiles pointed at Iran!!

And to conflate the Wahhabi-flavored radicalised Islam of ISIS with the moderate Shia Islam of Iran?!?

Does Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu begin to comprehend how completely idiotic this comparison sounds, for anyone with two brain cells to rub together?!?

And as I mentioned in a previous post yesterday, from the Israeli government's perspective, it is the US government which must, with its blood and money, achieve Israel's regional geopolitical objectives, and that includes "neutralising" Iran for it.

But between Iran's robust self-defense posture and capabilities, and the reality that if attacked militarily, Russia will come to its aid, this Israeli demand to the US may be too great a chasm to cross, at least for the moment.

Pentagon chief in Israel to discuss Iran, Syria

US Defense Secretary General James Mattis has arrived in Israel for talks expected to focus on Iran and Syria as well the strategic relations between Tel Aviv and Washington.

Mattis arrived in Tel Aviv Thursday afternoon from Cairo on the third leg of a week-long tour of the US allies in the Middle East.

Marking the first time he has visited Israel as the Pentagon chief, Mattis was greeted by an official honor guard at army headquarters in Tel Aviv on Friday morning.

He then met the Israeli minister for military affairs, Avigdor Lieberman, and is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Reuven Rivlin.

Mattis hopes to hear directly from Israeli leaders their concerns about regional issues, with Iran’s influence topping the list.

'No doubt Syria has chemical weapons'

Webmaster's Commentary:

With the corporate presstitutes demonising Iran this last week (for what specifically, I cannot tell you, because the IAEA has stated that they are still in compliance with the P5+1 deal), I'm not surprised by Sec-Def Mattis' trip to Israel.

What I know, just as certainly as I'm sitting here typing this, is that the Israeli government will make every effort to urge Mattis to "regime change" both Iran and Syria, and just as soon as humanly possible, and with the minimal Israeli military involvement.

Because from the Israeli government's perspective, it should always be American blood and money spent to achieve Israel's geopolitical objectives in the region.

But, as I mentioned in a previous article, there's a 6,000 lb gorilla, resting comfortably on the Bosendorfer; and that 6,000 lb gorilla is... Russia.

American meddling on the ground in Syria may well push al-Assad to invite Russian ground troops into the fray; and Russian political and military leaders have consistently stressed that should Iran be attacked, that Russia would come to its aid militarily.

Sec-Def Mattis, you know what kinds of arms and training the Russians have; would you bet the future existence of the United States against this?!?

Sir, I am hoping - and praying - that the short answer here is...no.

U.S. Threatens Iran: Plans To “Review Policy” And Deal With Them Before New Administration Comes To Power

After launching the disastrous missile strikes against Syrian military forces that resulted in the killing of Syrian soldiers, civilians, and children as well as sending ships toward North Korea in a flagrant act of aggression and dropping the largest known non-nuclear bomb on Afghanistan, the Trump administration is now taking aim at Iran.

Sounding much like it did after its bizarre and unprovoked “putting Iran on notice” speech made by former Trump administration official Michael Flynn, the United States is now “reviewing its policy” on Iran and warning the world of the dangers of a nuclear Iran.

The Path to Persia

Webmaster's Commentary:

It appears that, ahead of another Iranian election cycle, the Israeli government is well and truly cheerleading for "regime change" in Iran, generated primarily by US military action.

However, there is one 6,000 lb gorilla, spread across, and snoozing, on the Bosendorfer in the living room which the US and Israeli government are ignoring at their peril; that is Russia.

Both Russian politicians and military officials have consistently gone on public record in saying that should Iran be attacked - by anyone - Russia will come to its aid militarily.

The US military doesn't have the troop strength; the weaponry; the manufacturing; or the money to go head to head with the Russian military in even a conventional military conflict.

And that is why this "magical thinking/siren song", urging the US government to go to war with a country which has never attacked it, but just had the temerity to throw out its US-backed puppet ruler, the Shaw in 1979, is so horrifically dangerous. As reported in this article by Juan Cole of 2013:

As Israelis Press Obama on Iran, Let’s Remember they Urged Iraq War, Too

And we all understand.... just how brilliantly the war in Iraq has worked out, right?!?

Trump: Iran Violating ‘Spirit’ of Nuclear Deal

With the rest of the administration continuing to play up US hostility toward Iran in the wake of the admission that Iran is fully complying with the P5+1 nuclear deal, President Trump today accused Iran of “violating the spirit of the deal.”

President Trump offered no details on exactly what he was referring to, though the allegation is patently false at any rate, with Iran having no nuclear weapons program in the first place, and agreeing to drastically limit its civilian program in return for sanctions relief.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, what does this accusation this even mean, in light of the fact that the IAEA has consistently reported that Iran is in complete compliance with the terms and conditions of the P5 +1 Agreement?!?

'Specifically Designed to Provoke'? Trump's 'Outrageous' Iran Move May Backfire

US President Donald Trump appears to be setting the stage for new sanctions on Iran, despite Secretary of State Rex Tillerson telling Congress earlier this week that Iran is in compliance with the 2015 nuclear arms deal negotiated by Barack Obama.

Massoud Shadjareh, executive director of the Islamic Human Rights Commission, pointed out on Radio Sputnik that, while the deal has ensured safety and security and it has been confirmed by all regulators that Iran has complied with the commitments, the sanctions haven't in fact been lifted fully.

Russian experts believe US unlikely to deliver new strikes on Syria

The United States will unlikely deliver new strikes on Syria due to restricted capabilities, Russian experts said following a scientific conference on the Middle East organized by the Russian Institute for Strategic Studies (RISS).

"Experts have assessed technical and tactical nuances of the US strike on Shayrat air base on April 7, 2017, underlining that further capabilities are rather limited for US military operation in Syria. At present, new strikes are highly improbable," the experts said in the document available by TASS.

The conference pointed out that "the US activity in Syria pursues a goal to weaken Iran’s regional positions."

Iran disqualifies Ahmadinejad from bid to regain presidency

Iran’s former hardline president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has been disqualified from running in Iran’s presidential elections next month, according to the final list of approved candidates announced on Thursday.

Iran’s interior ministry said that the guardian council – the group of influential jurists and clerics that vets all candidates – had approved six politicians to run, including the moderate incumbent, Hassan Rouhani.

Also on the list are Ebrahim Raisi, a close ally of the country’s supreme leader; the mayor of Tehran, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf; Rouhani’s first deputy, Eshaq Jahangiri; and relatively low-profile politicians Mostafa Agha Mirsalim and Mostafa Hashemi-Taba.

But the list excluded more than 1,600 other nominees who had applied to run for president, including all 137 female candidates – and Ahmadinejad.

State Dept Tries to Torpedo Nuclear Deal, Admits Iran Complying

While the US State Department was obliged to admit that Iran remains in full compliance with the P5+1 nuclear deal in a report to Congress, they are clearly not happy about that fact, and with President Trump openly looking to “renegotiate” the deal, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson attacked the pact in general.

Indeed, Tillerson’s comments gave the appearance he didn’t know about the compliance, even though he was the one who signed the letter in the first place, as he attacked the P5+1 deal as a failure and accused Iran of “unchecked” nuclear ambitions posing a grave risk to the world.

Iran was never particularly close to nuclear weapons, and its leadership has repeatedly ruled out developing them. The P5+1 deal allows Iran an extremely limited civilian nuclear program, and since its implementation both the US and IAEA have repeatedly affirmed Iranian compliance.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Secretary of State Tillerson, a word, please.

You are developing an international reputation for making accusations against foreign countries, yet not providing a shred of evidence to back up your claims.

It is not only countries like Russia and China which are skeptical about the US government's geopolitical intentions; it is also the American people who are beginning to wonder what the ultimate agendas are here, which in the case of Iran, appears to be (as it is with Syria and North Korea), regime change, and by any means necessary.

And yes, we all know Israel and Saudi Arabia would just love that; but at what cost in blood and money to the American people?!?

We have, thank you very much, been lied to quite enough; whatever international steps you take henceforward, should be in the defense of We the People; not in the defense of foreign governments who do not care about what wars against these countries will cost us here at home.

Russia & Iran Order U.S. To Leave Syria As False Flag Evidence Emerges

Russia, Syria and Iran have warned President Trump to end military intervention in Syria, following revelations that the chemical attack was false flag orchestrated by the West.

A Government of Morons

Led by a man who can barely read.
Paul Craig Roberts

It has become embarrassing to be an American. Our country has had four war criminal presidents in succession.

Violence is America. America is violence. The moronic liberals blame it on gun owners, but it is always the government that is the source of violence. That is the reason our Founding Fathers gave us the Second Amendment. It is not gun owners who have destroyed in whole or part eight countries. It is the armed-at-taxpayer-expense US government that commits the violence.

America’s lust for violence is now bringing the Washington morons up against people who can commit violence back: the Russians and Chinese, Iran and North Korea.

WHY IT DOESN'T MATTER IF IRAN OR NORTH KOREA (OR ANYONE ELSE) HAS A NUCLEAR BOMB

Why U.S. Troops May Fight Alongside al-Qaeda in Yemen

AQAP’s fighters will play a role in the coming battle for the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah. The port, which is controlled by the Houthis, is the lifeline for northwest Yemen. Yemen imports in excess of 90 percent of its food. Before the war, as much as 70 percent of Yemen’s imports passed through Hodeidah. Recognizing this, Saudi Arabia bombed the port and destroyed its cranes. Despite the bombing of the port and Saudi Arabia’s naval blockade, desperately needed humanitarian supplies and food continue to trickle in through the port.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The fact that President Trump appears to be doubling down, through US complicity, with Saudi war crimes does not make me at all happy right now.

Also, the US military has "liberated" two Yemeni Islands,Socotra and Masirah, on which they are building two huge naval facilities from which the US can project power into the Persian gulf. As reported by debka.com, then copied by abundandhope.net in 2012:

Sources estimate from the current pace of arrivals on the two island bases, that 50,000 US troops will have accumulated on Socotra and Masirah by mid-February. They will top up the 50,000 military already present in the Persian Gulf region, so that in less than a month, Washington will have some 100,000 military personnel on the spot and available for any contingency. While quietly casting lines to draw Tehran into talks on their nuclear dispute, President Barack Obama is reported exclusively by DEBKA-Net-Weekly’s military and Washington sources to have secretly ordered US air, naval and marine forces to build up heavy concentrations on two strategic islands – Socotra, which is part of a Yemeni archipelago in the Indian Ocean, and the Omani island of Masirah at the southern exit of the Strait of Hormuz. Socotra is situated 80 kilometers east of the Horn of Africa and 380 kilometers southeast of the Yemeni coastline. It lies athwart the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. A military base there is in a position to oversee the shipping moving in and out of those strategic naval waterways. Lushly verdant, Socotra is approximately 120 kilometers long by 40 kilometers wide. Its population of 55,000 has its own distinct language and culture. Since 2010, the US has been quietly building giant air force and naval bases on Socotra with facilities for submarines, intelligence command centers and take-off pads for flying stealth drones, as part of a linked chain of strategic US military facilities in the Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf. The Socotra facilities are so secret that they are never mentioned in any catalogue listing US military facilities in this part of the world, which include Jebel Ali and Al Dahfra in the United Arab Emirates; Arifjan in Kuwait; and Al Udeid in Qatar – all within short flying distances from Iran. Additional US forces are also being poured into Camp Justice on the barren, 70-kilometer long Omani island of Masirah, just south of the Hormuz entry point to the Gulf of Oman from the Arabian Sea. US military facilities were established there after the signing of an access agreement with Oman in 1980. Up to 100,000 US troops present by early March For the new buildup on Socotra, Washington had to negotiate a new deal with Yemen's ousted ruler Ali Abdullah Saleh. Injured in an assassination attempt last year, Saleh demanded permission to travel to the United States for medical treatment. The Obama administration first refused, then relented when Saleh made it his condition for consenting to additional troops landing on the island. Western military sources familiar with the American buildup on the two strategic islands tell DEBKA-Net-Weekly that, although they cannot cite precise figures, they are witnessing the heaviest American concentration of might in the region since the US invaded Iraq in 2003. Then, 100,000 American troops were massed in Kuwait ahead of the invasion. Today, those sources estimate from the current pace of arrivals on the two island bases, that 50,000 US troops will have accumulated on Socotra and Masirah by mid-February. They will top up the 50,000 military already present in the Persian Gulf region, so that in less than a month, Washington will have some 100,000 military personnel on the spot and available for any contingency. US air transports are described as making almost daily landings on Socotra and Masirah. They fly in from the US naval base of Diego Garcia, one of America's biggest military facilities, just over 3,000 kilometers away. The US military presence in the region will further expand in the first week of March when three US aircraft carriers and their strike groups plus a French carrier arrive in the Persian Gulf, the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea: They are the USS Abraham Lincoln, USS Carl Vinson, USS Enterprise and the Charles de Gaulle nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. A fourth US carrier will be standing by in the Pacific Ocean, a few days' sailing time from the water off Iran's coast.

That construction was started 5 years ago; I am quite sure it is completed by now, and quite operational.
