U.S. Says Russia Bombed Convoy Even If It Didn’t

By Brandon Turbeville

...With the recent bombing of an aid convoy in Urm al-Kubra near Aleppo, the Western media (as well as the governments it speaks for) is conflating the convoy that was attacked with a convoy that never actually entered Syria and which appears to have been attacked by America’s rebels. Now, rogue generals within the U.S. military are declaring that the Russians are responsible for the attack despite having no evidence for their claims. In addition, these generals and the Secretary of Defense are saying that, even if the Russians didn’t drop the bombs, the Russians are guilty of attacking the convoy.

Seriously, they actually said that...

Syrian government troops have managed to liberate a central neighborhood in the divided city of Aleppo in their latest push against foreign-backed militants who are wreaking havoc in the war-stricken country.

Syrian state TV reported on Tuesday the recapture by government forces of Farafra neighborhood, situated in the old quarter of Aleppo near the city’s famous citadel.

An unnamed military source also confirmed the advance, saying, "The army retook control of all of the Farafra district … after neutralizing many terrorists. Units are now demining the area.”

US strikes Deir Ezzor for the 2nd time this month

The U.S. Air Force struck the Deir Ezzor Goernorate for the 2nd time this month on Tuesday, targeting the Political Brigade inside the town of Al-Mayadeen.

According to local reports, the U.S. Air Force destroyed the Political Bridge after launching a surprise attack this morning in the southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor.

The first U.S. airstrike in the Deir Ezzor Governorate was conducted earlier this month, when their warplanes attacked the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) at the Thardeh Mountains near the provincial capital.

New Cold War Spins Out of Control

In the aftermath of the U.S. attack on the Syrian army positions overlooking and commanding the Dier A-Zor airfield – the airfield, whose daily “Berlin air-bridge” style flights, are the sole lifeline to a city long besieged by ISIS – the Russian U.N. Ambassador asked a pertinent rhetorical question at the United Nations Security Council: Who is running U.S. policy: Is it the Pentagon or the White House?

What is so surprising here is the non-surprise evinced by the editorial writers of the New York Times. The Board blandly states that the Defense Secretary and the Pentagon might not comply. Not a hint of surprise is evident at the constitutional implications of this open defiance of Presidential authority.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I don't know about you, but the fact that Sec Def Carter is running the show now at the Pentagon scares the living stuffing out of me.

He is one of the most war-centric, verbally belligerent, non-prone to dialogue that could lead to negotiations, Sec Def that we have had in quite some time, probably since Rumsfeld.

He appears very much to be drunk on the smell on his own cork, when it comes to confronting Russia militarily, and that is a very dangerous state of affairs in which the US government finds itself.

‘Americans are on our side’: Al-Nusra commander says US arming jihadists via 3rd countries

US weapons are being delivered to Jabhat Al-Nusra by governments that Washington supports, a militant commander told the German media, adding that American instructors were in Syria to teach how to use the new equipment.

“Yes, the US supports the opposition [in Syria], but not directly. They support the countries that support us. But we are not yet satisfied with this support,” Jabhat al-Nusra unit commander Abu Al Ezz said in an interview with Koelner Stadt-Anzeiger newspaper from the devastated Syrian city of Aleppo.

According to the commander, the militants should be receiving more “sophisticated weapons” from their backers to succeed against the Syrian government.

Gulf may arm rebels now Syria truce is dead: U.S. officials

The collapse of the latest Syria ceasefire has heightened the possibility that Gulf states might arm Syrian rebels with shoulder-fired missiles to defend themselves against Syrian and Russian warplanes, U.S. officials said on Monday.

Still, the U.S. administration continues to maintain that negotiations are the only way to end the carnage after Russian-backed Syrian forces intensified their bombing of Aleppo, the last major urban area in rebel hands.

The latest U.S. attempt to end Syria's 5-1/2 year civil war was shattered on Sept. 19 when a humanitarian aid convoy was bombed in an attack Washington blamed on Russian aircraft. Moscow denied involvement.

On Monday, medical supplies were running out in rebel-held eastern Aleppo, with victims pouring into barely functioning hospitals as Russia and its Syrian ally President Bashar al-Assad ignored Western pleas to stop the bombing.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: the US government never wanted a true cease-fire in the first place; they just wanted a lull in the fighting long enough to rearm those alleged "moderate" jihadists, of whom there are none.

Well now, having broken the cease-fire with a deliberate attack against Syrian troops, lasting an hour, the US government is feeling confident that it can do this with impunity.

But were I a member of the US government or military, I wouldn't bet against the Russians, coordinating with the Syrian military, to make mincemeat out of the last stronghold of the jihadists in Aleppo.

Russia to create new coalition on Syria

Urgent meeting of the UN Security Council which was initiated by Great Britain, France and the US turned into attempted public flogging of Russia.

Initiators of the meeting along with Germany, Italy, and an EU representative that joined them the day before, called military action of the Syrian army in Aleppo to be inadmissible. They called the UN SC to take a corresponding stance on the matter.

The 'six' also pointed out in an ultimatum-like way that given inability and unwillingness of Russia to follow its obligations, their 'patience is not boundless'.

The US representative in the UN Samantha Power claimed at once that Moscow and Damascus lead 'a full-scale offensive' on the East of Aleppo, calling the Russian acts to be 'barbaric'. According to her, the Russian side tends to continue war in Syria.

The Russian Defence Minister Lavrov claimed that the US tried to make Russia responsible for everything going on in Syria.

Russia to agree on no further unilateral steps to cease hostilities in Syria — envoy

Russia will agree on no further unilateral steps to cease hostilities in Syria after the United States’ tactical tricks that gave terrorist groups time to regroup and reinforce, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vitaly Churkin said on Sunday at an extraordinary meeting of the Security Council.

"Requests for ceasefire — now for 48 hours, then for 72 hours — have become a routine practice," he said. "We have always been making concessions, at least tried, and reached agreements with the Syrian government. In the long run, it all ended in militants’ regrouping, receiving reinforcement and staging new offensives."

Obama’s Imperial Mideast Policy Has Unraveled

Not only had the U.S. approved the same Kurdish offensive, but it had provided arms, money, and air support plus military advice in the form of some 250 US Special Operations forces embedded among members of the Kurdish militia known as the YPG.Although the Turks claimed to be targeting ISIS (also known as Islamic State, IS, ISIL, and Daesh), it was plain from the outset that the real aim was to counter an offensive that had carried Kurdish forces some 20 miles west of the Euphrates River and put them in a position to control nearly the entire Syrian-Turkish border.

Indeed, the Syrian Democratic Forces, a multi-ethnic militia anchored by the YPG, was a real success story, just about the only one Washington has had in the course of its disastrous five-year Syrian intervention.

After Being Named Terrorists, Syrian “Al Qaeda” Group Says America Still Helps, But Not Enough

A battlefield leader for the “Syrian Al Qaeda” terrorist group Jahbat al-Nusra claimed the United States is still helping the group fight against Syrian government forces, in an interview with major German newspaper Kölner Stadtanzeiger. Earlier this month, a select committee of British parliamentarians released a report which condemned the U.K. government under David Cameron for its role in the 2011 NATO intervention in Libya. US-Russian Deal: 'DoD Openly Saying It May or May Not Obey Obama'

However, the US scholar noted, there are forces in Washington which seek to disrupt the US-Russian détente.

Given the fact that US warplanes knew the Deir ez-Zor region very well and that the US Department of Defense (DOD) had openly expressed its skepticism regarding the US-Russian plan on Syria, it is "a little hard to believe" that the attack on the Syrian Arab Army was an "accident," Professor Cohen suggested. He quoted the New York Times editorial, which read that "at the Pentagon, officials would not even agree that if a cessation of violence in Syria held for seven days — the initial part of the deal — the Defense Department would put in place its part of the agreement on the eighth day."

Officially, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) is a UK-based organization providing data to the Western press about troop movements, government policy and public sentiment in Syria. The Western press then reprints the information they are given - no questions asked:

His funding comes from the European Union and "an unnamed European state," most likely the UK as he has direct access to former Foreign Minister William Hague, who he has been documented meeting in person on multiple occasions at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London and shares Rahman's enthusiasm for removing Assad from power. The NYT in fact reveals that it was the British government that first relocated Abdul Rahman to Coventry, England after he fled Syria over a decade ago because of his anti-government activities:

How the Pentagon Sank the US-Russia Deal in Syria – and the Ceasefire

At an extraordinary video conference with Kerry immediately after the negotiation of the ceasefire agreement was complete, Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter strongly objected to the Joint Center– especially the provision for sharing intelligence with the Russians for a campaign against IS and al-Qaeda.

Obama had overridden Carter’s objections at the time, but a New York Times story filed the night of 13 September reported that Pentagon officials were still refusing to agree that the US should proceed with the creation of the Joint Implementation Center if the ceasefire held for seven days.

The Times quoted Lt. Gen. Jeffrey L Harrigian, commander of the United States Air Forces Central Command (USAFCENT), as telling reporters, “I’m not saying yes or no.”

“It would be premature to say that we’re going to jump right into it,” he added.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Forgive me, but I thought that the civilian leadership of the American military was always the way it is supposed to be, and not the other way 'round: why Sec Def Carter or whoever actually ordered the attack has not been royally sacked, is a mystery to me.

That is, unless Obama wanted the strike, but to be able to claim "plausible deniability" in his having ordered it, and blame it on the Pentagon.

I think this is the more likely scenario, all things considered.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – SEPTEMBER 26, 2016: RUSSIA DEPLOYS MORE WARPLANES IN SYRIA

Fresh video evidence from the province of Latakia indicates that Russia has likely increased its air grouping operating in Siria. The video entitled “Syria: Army relaunches offensive against militias in Latakia” and posted by RUPTLY on September 24, 2016 shows the Su-25SM attack aircraft supporting an advance of the Syrian army against terrorists.

There have been no Russian Su-25SM aircraft in Syria since the partial withdrawal of the Russian air grouping from the country. Now, Su-25SM jets are operating in the Syrian airspace. The Syrian Arab Air Force does not have such warplanes.

This means that Moscow has deployed SU-25SM strike-fighters in order to increase the air power involved in operations against terrorists. There is no information about numbers of Russian SU-25SM attack aircraft that are now operating from Russia’s Khmeimim Air Base.

Why Assad's army has not defected

Four years ago, Turkey’s then prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdo?an said that within in a few weeks he would be praying in Damascus’s Umayyad Mosque, as Assad was about to fall. Similarly, Israel’s most decorated soldier, former Defense Minister Ehud Barak, predicted that Assad and his military would be toppled within weeks. That was at the beginning of 2012, when there were no Iranian soldiers on the ground or Russian planes in the skies.

As another round of Geneva peace talks collapses and the world wonders what’s next for Syria, it is time to begin with the warnings of Henry Kissinger and Zbignew Brzezinski. Kissinger and Brzezinski, the most seasoned and influential U.S. policymakers on the Middle East since World War II, have gone against popular opinion and stated that President Bashar al-Assad has more support than all the opposition groups combined.

Lavrov: The US has apologized for Deir ez-Zor, but actions speak louder than words

The US government has offered its apologies to the leadership of Syria for the airstrike against Syrian army positions that led to the death of 60 to 80 soldiers. This was announced by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, RT reports.

“Yes, they apologized. The situation is a little strange. I told Secretary of State John Kerry once and then again at a meeting of the International Syria support Group that the situation in Deir ez-Zor, unlike in Aleppo where the contact line is always changing, has been static for more than two years. Syrian troops there have been surrounded by ISIS,” Lavrov said.

The minister emphasized that the only way out of the difficult situation is honest, joint work “when all ceasefire agreements will be fulfilled and unilateral demands are not pushed forward only to then make a ‘gesture of goodwill’ in the hope that this will pay off.”

UN security council to meet on Syria as Assad’s troops tighten grip on Aleppo

President Bashar al-Assad’s troops have tightened their siege of Aleppo, after another 24 hours of intense bombardment that left dozens dead and nearly 2 million without water.

The United Nations security council is due to meet at 11am on Sunday to discuss the escalation of fighting in Aleppo, diplomats said, at the request of the US, Britain and France.

A barrage of bombs has been dropped on the city since Thursday when Assad, along with his Russian backers, abandoned a shaky ceasefire and government forces launched a new assault on the city that was Syria’s largest before the war.

The attack has left US policy on Syria in disarray, with diplomats pursuing a halt in hostilities even as Assad’s forces on the ground ramped up fighting using Moscow’s air power as back-up.

Did the Pentagon Bomb Syrian Army to Kill Ceasefire Deal?

The US has officially taken responsibility for the incident which it called a “mistake”...

A rift between the Pentagon and the White House turned into open rebellion on Saturday when two US F-16s and two A-10 warplanes bombed Syrian Arab Army (SAA) positions at Deir al-Zor killing at least 62 Syrian regulars and wounding 100 others.

Many analysts now wonder whether the attacks are an indication that the neocon-strewn DOD is actively engaged in sabotaging President Obama’s Syria policy, a claim that implies that the Pentagon is led by anti-democratic rebels who reject the Constitutional authority of the civilian leadership. Saturday’s bloodletting strongly suggests that a mutiny is brewing at the War Department.

Sweden could solve their migrant problem by creating a new state-within-a-state where national laws don’t apply and sending thousands of migrants and so-called refugees there, the incoming chief economist of the influential World Bank has said. Paul Romer, director of New York University’s Stern School of Business Urbanisation Project, made the remarks about his unusual approach to Sweden’s migrant crisis this week in an interview with the national newspaper Dagens Nyhter. Suggesting the zone could model itself on British Hong Kong, the senior economist said it could bring enormous benefit at no cost to the taxpayer.

In Kerry's Own Words: Syria Prohibited from Attacking al-Qaeda

No wonder the United States insisted that its Syria ceasefire deal with Russia remain secret! It turns out that one of the US demands was that the Syrian air force must be prohibited from attacking al-Nusra Front (al-Qaeda in Syria). Crazy conspiracy theory? These are John Kerry's own words at the UN yesterday:

Lavrov urges finding, examining ammunition used to hit aid convoy

In order for the investigation of the incident with the humanitarian convoy in Syria to be considered objective, the ammunition used on it must be shown, Sergei Lavrov said during an interview with the TV channel Rossiya-1.

"Now it is necessary to conduct an investigation. Probably the easiest way and the very first step that should be made is to [examine] the ammunition that was used [during the attack] on the convoy," Sergei Lavrov said.

"First there appeared information claiming it was hit with artillery, and then this information disappeared. After that people spoke about helicopters; I think everyone would be able to understand what happened if we were able to see the ammunition."

Western Media Blames Russia, Syria For Attack On UN Convoy; Video and Photos Tell Different Story

By Brandon Turbeville

Throughout the entirety of the Syrian crisis, Western media outlets have misrepresented facts and presented outright lies to their audiences regarding virtually every aspect of the war. Particularly when it comes to specific occurrences used to gin up support for greater Western intervention in Syria, these outlets kick it up a notch, launching flurries of disinformation and misinformation designed to leave imprints of false narratives in the minds of half attentive audiences. Incidents such as the Ghouta chemical weapons attack, little Omran, and, now the alleged attack on a U.N. convoy are now parts of a larger narrative. No matter how much they are debunked, confusion and distortion leave behind traces of the narrative embedded in the mind of the consumer.

Still, it is important to point out the false narratives where they do exist in order to deconstruct them as much as possible...

'US priority in Syria: Stop Aleppo from falling to pro-Assad forces'

Right now, the Obama administration has one priority and that is to stop eastern Aleppo from falling to Syrian government forces. Strategically, if the jihad terrorists lose eastern Aleppo strategically this war is over. The fighting may go on for a while, but that will be the tipping point in terms of who is going to win. They can dance around any way they want, but the bottom line is always going to be to try and stop the Syrian and Russian forces from decimating these jihadists and changing the outcome.

Syria Announces New Offensive Against Aleppo as Truce Talks Fail

The Syrian government has announced a major new offensive against the Nusra Front-held half of the city of Aleppo today, urging locals to avoid areas where terrorists are located and announcing a number of areas through which civilians can flee the area.

The offensive was announced after the latest efforts to revive the already collapsed ceasefire failed. Syrian officials withdrew from the ceasefire on Monday, citing weekend violations. The announcement was vague on whether this offensive would include attempts to send ground forces into the area.

Aleppo has been contested for years, with districts regularly changing hands but no one ever getting control of the entire city. Nusra and the Syrian government have it roughly split down the middle now, with repeated attacks and counterattacks yielding large death tolls but limited territory changes.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Russia, in working in concert with Syria, has been very successful at turning back the jihadists (whether or not the US government is funding and equipping them; if Russia and the Syrian military successfully take back Aleppo, it is all over for the US military presence here, through their jihadists.

Speaking to the US Senate, the Pentagon’s leaders blamed Russia for the Aleppo aid convoy attack, but admitted they “had no facts.” Only US coalition planes should be allowed over Syria, they said, though that would require war against both Syria and Russia.

Defense Secretary Ash Carter and General Joseph Dunford, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, faced the Senate Armed Services Committee on Thursday to report on the ongoing military operations and “national security challenges” faced by the US. They also asked the senators for more reliable funding, saying the uncertainty was hurting the defense industry.

HERE’S HOW CIA PUPPET MASTERS ARE DELIBERATELY PICKING A WORLD WAR III LEVEL FIGHT

It’s really quite embarrassing on a global scale when members of our own government seem to be deliberately trying to pick fights with people who aren’t interested in fighting with us. If you’ve traveled outside of the United States much, you probably know that we Americans have a rather negative reputation off of our own shores. Now, generally speaking, that isn’t our fault as individuals. You and I don’t create headlines that make waves throughout Europe and Asia.

While average Americans aren’t directly responsible for this, our federal officials are. I’ve written recently about President Obama doing things in Syria that are worsening the conflict there. I’ve also written about the fact that he and Russian President Vladimir Putin are starting to butt heads. And finally, I’ve warned time and time again that war is upon us – and everyone knows but the US.

Michael Morell is the director of the CIA. Here’s a little blurb from Wikipedia about him.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I think there are multiple reasons why the Obama Administration wants war against Russia in Syria.

First, as an attempted distraction from the lousy economy realities for many here in the United States.

There are over 94 million Americans who cannot find work, but are not counted in the US Labor Statistics because they "have been out of the work force for too long". That's a great trick by the Us Department of Labor, worthy of a magician; they've just made these people...disappear.

Secondly, if it appears that Trump is going to absolutely win the election by a landslide in November, this Administration would love to "gift" him with a war even before he has had the chance to take the Oath of Office.

I would like to soberly and politely remind this Administration of the epic fails their military misadventures have been so far; continuing to fail in Afghanistan and Iraq; continuing to fail in Libya, and continuing to fail in the US-militarily enabled Saudi war against Yemen.

And with all these failures, and no respite in sight, the Administration is spoiling for a war with Russia over Syria?!?

There is a classic definition of insanity, which amounts to doing the same thing over and over again, in precisely the same way, yet consistently expecting a different outcome.

And by this definition, the US government under President Obama's watch, has gone completely insane.

Such a war may not go well for the US government, because at this point, our military doesn't have the weaponry, the money, the troop strength, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to such a war.

Additionally, such a war against Russia over Syria, in order to accomplish regime change in Syria, does not at all put this country on the moral, or right side of history.

And right now, I think that mandatory reading for every Governmental and military personnel pushing for such a war should be Sun Szu's "The Art of War."

Carefully.

Multiple times.

NO-FLY ZONE WOULD ‘REQUIRE WAR WITH SYRIA AND RUSSIA’ – TOP US GENERAL

Speaking to the US Senate, the Pentagon’s leaders blamed Russia for the Aleppo aid convoy attack, but admitted they “had no facts.” Only US coalition planes should be allowed over Syria, they said, though that would require war against both Syria and Russia.

Defense Secretary Ash Carter and General Joseph Dunford, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, faced the Senate Armed Services Committee on Thursday to report on the ongoing military operations and “national security challenges”faced by the US. They also asked the senators for more reliable funding, saying the uncertainty was hurting the defense industry.

“Not only our people – our defense industry partners, too, need stability and longer-term plans to be as efficient and cutting-edge as we need them to be,” Carter told the senators.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to Sec Def Carter and General Dunsford; if you don't have the facts about who bombed the aid convoy, making an assumption that "Russia or Syria did it" is a recklessly irresponsible allegation.

And besides, cui bono?!? Who benefits from such an act?!? Neither the Russians nor Syrians do.

And again, I would like to politely remind you that a US coalition Predator Drone was spotted shadowing the convoy before the attack happened; if there was no intent to harm, WHY?!?

US coalition Predator drone spotted at time & place of Syria aid convoy attack – Russian military

I would also like to politely point out to you that Russia was invited to get rid of ALL the jihadis working against the government of Damascus (including those funded and equipped by the US government, such as ISIS); the United States military has not at all been invited, thank you very much.

So, gentlemen, it appears that after 4 years of abject failure in getting the alleged "moderate rebels" to create regime change in Damascus, you are contemplating a war against both Russia and Syria to accomplish this.

I would like to strongly caution against such an action at this time, because the US military doesn't have the weaponry; the troop strength; the money, or the manufacturing to accomplish a positive outcome to a conventional war with Russia.

The way in which the weapons and aircraft contracts are awarded in this country is incestuous, because you have politicians who are, in large part, rewarded by generous campaign contributions by the weapons and aircraft makers who get the contracts.

And how this translates, when weapons and aircraft get into the field, is that they do not work at all as advertised; they are late enough as to be obsolete against other countries' weapons, and come with stiff cost overruns.

Need I remind you of the hideous problems with Lockheed Martin's F-35?!?

Pentagon: Here are all the problems with the F-35

PENTAGON: F-35 WON’T HAVE A CHANCE IN REAL COMBAT

The F-35's Fatal Flaw: It Might Need to Win a Dogfight (But Can't)

F-35’s Latest Hurdle Could Send It Back To Contracting Purgatory

Gentlemen, first, the contracting process has to be fixed so that when the US government goes to war, it has the weapons, the money, the manufacturing, and the troop strength to insure victory in that endeavor; and right now, this is absolutely not the case.

And secondly, with any contemplated invasion of Syria to accomplish regime change, even if it involves war with Russia, the United States government is absolutely not on the right, or moral, side of history here.

And that means that the US government may well loose such a war, so I encourage you both to think long and hard before you commit to this; the aftermath may well be both globally devastating... and irreversible.

LAVROV MAKES HISTORY: 'Ceasefires' were bogus, nixes future 'unilateral measures'

Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov made history today at the UN's meeting of the Security Council, declaring that future unilateral pauses couched as 'ceasefire agreements' are off the table. He has skillfully referred to the mounting factual evidence of the US's continued flagrant violations on any number of points of agreement over the course of this conflict.

These include primarily the violations of the ceasefire itself, in conjunction with officially leaked elements of the 'secret text' of the recent ceasefire which evidence that the US has been unable to reign in a number of groups signing onto previous ceasefires, let alone those groups the US claims to be moderates but did not sign onto the ceasefire, both of which continue to work closely with either ISIS or Jabat Al-Nusra. Russia has no doubt pointed out successfully that several of these groups are fictional entities, and are but operational synonyms of Al-Nusra (formerly called Al-Qaeda of the Levant), itself.

RUSSIA'S COUNTER-BLOW: Info War victory and the destroyed Aid Convoy

In a surprising turn of events, Russia struck back at the US and the western media disinformation campaign, causing NATO to back off from claiming that Russia or Syria was responsible for the attack on the Red Crescent aid convoy destroyed earlier this week. This became evident after the public statement of NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg on Wednesday, September 21, in comments to media following an ad-hoc meeting with Russian FM Sergei Lavrov.

Western media outlets previously reported, both through AP and Reuters distributors like the New York Times, LA Times, etc., as well as the UK's Guardian and BBC, that US officials laid the blame on Russia for the attack on the Red Crescent aid convoy in Syria. The attack destroyed nearly twenty of the thirty-one trucks scheduled to arrive in Uram Al-Kubra.

Syria - The Aid Convoy Attack Points To Further Escalation

U.S. Secretary of State first claimed that the Syrian did it, than that the Russians did it; helicopters had attacked. The Pentagon then came up with two Russian SU-24 fixed wing aircraft as the culprits. But the U.S. then claimed that the attack went on over two hours which is longer than a pair of SU-24 could sustain.

The Russians said neither they nor the Syrians attacked. They alleged that "rebels" attacked the convoy; that there had been no bombs, only damage from fire.

Russia asks for formal UN investigation of convoy attack.

On September 19, a humanitarian convoy consisting of 31 trucks was attacked while heading to Aleppo. According to the Red Cross, 20 civilians and one aid worker died as a result. Initial reports by the organization claimed the convoy had been targeted by an airstrike.

On Tuesday, the UN backtracked on its earlier claims that the convoy was hit by military planes.

"We are not in a position to determine whether these were in fact airstrikes. We are in a position to say that the convoy was attacked," UN humanitarian spokesman Jens Laerke said.

Rogue Mission: Did the Pentagon Bomb Syrian Army to Kill Ceasefire Deal?

A rift between the Pentagon and the White House turned into open rebellion on Saturday when two US F-16s and two A-10 warplanes bombed Syrian Arab Army (SAA) positions at Deir al-Zor killing at least 62 Syrian regulars and wounding 100 others. The US has officially taken responsibility for the incident which it called a “mistake”, but the timing of the massacre has increased speculation that the attack was a desperate, eleventh-hour attempt to derail the fragile ceasefire and avoid parts of the implementation agreement that Pentagon leaders publicly opposed.

ATTACK ON AID CONVOY KILLS TWENTY, DESTROYS AID - AND OBLITERATES US WAR CRIMES?

“We have studied video footage from the scene from so-called ‘activists’ in detail and did not find any evidence that the convoy had been struck by ordnance”, commented Igor Konashenkov, a Ministry spokesman.

“There are no craters and the exterior of the vehicles do not have the kind of damage consistent with blasts caused by bombs dropped from the air.” His observations are hard to challenge, anyone who has studied the assaults of the “international community” on far away countries over the last decades knows what a bombed truck looks like - what fragments remains of it.

Photographs of the affected lorries show burned out vehicles, metal skeleton intact.

Konashenkov said that damage visible in footage was instead the result of cargo igniting - “oddly” occurring at the same time as militants (formerly Nusra Front) had started a big offensive in nearby Aleppo, backed by tanks, artillery and other heavy equipment.

Syria, Russia refutes claims of targeting humanitarian aid convoy in Aleppo countryside

A military source refuted the reports circulated by malicious media outlets about the Syrian Arab Army targeting a humanitarian aid convoy in Aleppo countryside.

The source told SANA that there’s no truth to the rumors circulated during the past few hours by some media outlets about the Syrian Arab Army targeting a humanitarian aid convoy in Orkem village in Aleppo’s northern countryside.

Russian Defense Ministry: Russian and Syrian air forces did not target any humanitarian aid convoys in Aleppo

Spokesman for the Russian Defense Ministry Igor Konashenkov asserted that neither the Russian Aerospace Forces nor the Syrian Air Force targeted any UN humanitarian aid convoys southwest of Aleppo.

Deir ez-Zor bombings: What is US’ actual goal in Syria?

Mother Agnes Mariam, a nominee for the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize from Homs diocese, has some harsh words for the US war against Syria: “Shame on a coalition who pretends fighting ISIS while in reality is helping ISIS killing innocent soldiers whose mission is to protect civilians.”

This is in response to the September 17 US airstrikes in Deir ez-Zor that massacred 62 Syrian soldiers and injured 100 more who have been fighting ISIS.[1] According to a June 2015 Time magazine article, Deir ez-Zor with a population of 228,000 has been under siege by ISIS the past years, relying on the nightly arrival of a large Syrian air-force-operated cargo plane which has a payload of more than 46 tons and transports munitions, food and medical supplies.

This much needed aid is flown out from the military air base southeast of the city, the target of ISIS the past years and now bombed by US jet fighters.

White House: Russia to Blame Even If They Didn’t Attack Aid Convoy

Yesterday’s apparently airstrikes against a UN aid convoy, destroying between 18-20 trucks and killing some 14 Red Crescent volunteers took multiple turns today, with the US claiming they believe that a pair of Russian warplanes attacked the convoy, potentially as “revenge” for the American attack on a Syrian military base the day before, which killed 83 soldiers.

The Russians are denying this, of course, but perhaps the even more unusual angle is that White House officials have subsequently come forward to insist that the US holds Russia responsible for what happened to the convoy, even if they didn’t actually do it.

Obama aide Ben Rhodes argued that because Russia had made a commitment to the ceasefire and to getting aid flowing in northern Syria, it was obviously their fault that something happened to the convoy, no matter what that actually was.

Webmaster's Commentary:

OK, it's official: both Ben Rhodes and this administration have collectively lost their reality licenses, with this breathtakingly stupid statement!!

Did the US NOT make a commitment to the cease fire, which they destroyed by Saturday's bombing of Syrian military personnel?!?

And why on earth did the US government feel it necessary to keep the terms of the agreement with the Russians secret?!?

And besides, cui bono?!?

Who benefited from the bombing of the aid convoy?!?

NOT Russia, for heaven's sake; and not Syria, certainly.

But the US accusations have absolutely no where to go; Russia has meticulously documented where its personnel and equipment were at the time the convoy got bombed, and it was no where even close to where the convoy got bombed.

When Russia Called to Get US to Stop Syria Strike, US Official Wasn’t There

Weekend US airstrikes against a Syrian army base in Deir Ezzor, a protracted error which killed 83 Syrian soldiers and opened up the base for ISIS to overrun it, carried on longer than it should have, because when Russia made the call to warn the Americans, the guy who was supposed to answer it wasn’t there.

The Russian military called and asked to speak to this “point of contact” official at the coordinating center which is running the US-led bombing campaigns in Syria, and were told he wasn’t available. The Russians called back again and finally got somebody who understood that the US was bombing the wrong target.

The Pentagon dismissed concern about the lapse, saying the contact “wasn’t expecting a call” and therefore didn’t feel obliged to sit next to the phone. Yet as intense US airstrikes were ongoing, in the middle of a US-Russia negotiated ceasefire, it seems like it wasn’t a total shock that a call ended up made.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: the deliberate absence of the US contact made sure that the bombing could last just long enough to coordinate with ISIS as they rushed in to overtake the area.

US Destroying Syria’s Oil Infrastructure Under Guise of Fighting ISIS

The US is considering bombing pipelines in Syria, which it claims is in an attempt to cut off the huge profits being made by ISIS from captured oilfields.

The Independent quotes Julieta Valls Noyes, the deputy assistant secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs during a visit to London, that ISIS was making $2 million a day off oil sales and that the US would consider airstrikes as well as “kinetic strikes against some pipelines” and “actual physical action to stop the flow”.

The trouble with this justification for destroying Syria’s oil pipelines, is that ISIS does not have the capability to use the pipelines to transfer oil. ISIS transports the stolen oil on the back of trucks, and sells it on the black market in Turkey.

“On the evening of September 19, in that specific region, a drone belonging to the international condition, which had taken off from the Incirlik air base in Turkey, was flying at a height of 3,600 meters and traveling at around 200 kilometers per hour,” said Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov.

“The object was in the area around the town of Urm Al-Kubra, where the convoy was a few minutes before it caught fire,” Konashenkov added. “It left after about 30 minutes.”

Russia provides definitive video proof that US backed ISIS jihadists attacked UN convoy in Syria

The Russian military released drone footage of a pickup truck carrying a heavy mortar and driving past the humanitarian convoy.

Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said in a statement…

“No airstrikes were carried out against a humanitarian aid convoy in a southwestern suburb of Aleppo by Russian or Syrian aviation. Seeing as the convoy’s route lied through the territories controlled by militants, the Russian reconciliation center monitored its passage yesterday via drones.”

Putin is doublin down on his Syrian bet.

Russia's Minister of Defense, Sergey Shoygo, said that the aircraft cruiser "Admiral Kuznetsov" will join Russian warships in the eastern Mediterranean.

Earlier, military and diplomatic sources confirmed that the Russian flagship will participate in airstrikes against terrorists fighting the Syrian Army throughout Syria.

30 Israeli, Foreign Intelligence Officers Killed in Russia's Caliber Missile Attack in Aleppo

"The Russian warships fired three Caliber missiles at the foreign officers' coordination operations room in Dar Ezza region in the Western part of Aleppo near Sam'an mountain, killing 30 Israeli and western officers," the Arabic-language service of the Russian Sputnik news agency quoted battlefield source in Aleppo as saying on Wednesday.

The operations room was located in the Western part of Aleppo province in the middle of sky-high Sam'an mountain and old caves. The region is deep into a chain of mountains.

Several US, Turkish, Saudi, Qatari and British officers were also killed along with the Israeli officers. The foreign officers who were killed in the Aleppo operations room were directing the terrorists' attacks in Aleppo and Idlib.

Lavrov rejects claims that aid convoy was hit by Syrian Air Force

The humanitarian convoy in Aleppo could not have been hit by Syria’s Air Force as the attack occurred in the dark when Syrian aircrafts do not fly, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has told the Rossiya 1 TV channel.

"Our military have already made the statements that our aviation did not work there. The Syrian aviation could not work as the attack on the convoy occurred during the hours of darkness," said Lavrov, who is attending the session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

"The Syrian Air Force does not fly at this time, they don’t have such possibilities, and the attack occurred at the moment when the humanitarian cargo was being unloaded in eastern Aleppo," he explained.

WARNING : Russia Issues New "Rules of Engagement" in Syria: Any Aircraft Threatening the Syrian Army WILL BE SHOT DOWN (US/Turkey/Israel in the cross-hairs!)

If the US and its "coalition" are, in fact, covering for ISIS, then the end for that is near. Russia issued new Rules of Engagement today, instructing its air forces and Surface-to-Air missile batteries that they are to shoot down any aircraft threatening Syrian Army forces.

So the next "mistake" by a US pilot, will very likely be the last mistake that pilot makes. Once the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system "locks-on" to an aircraft, there is no escape and no defense. The system cannot be jammed and its missiles cannot be fooled by flares or chaff. An S-300 absolutely, positively, will hit and kill any aircraft it is fired at.

This is also bad news for Turkey, which also has troops and planes operating inside Syria without permission. If a Turk aircraft attacks a Syrian Army unit, it, too, will be shot down.

Israel is also in trouble with these news rules of engagement. Israel has been sending the Israeli Air Force to strike areas of the occupied Golan Heights – official Syrian territory. Israeli jets will now be shot down if they attack a Syrian Army position.

Syria Solidarity Movement Statement On The US Attack Against The Syrian Army At Deir Ez-Zour

The Syria Solidarity Movement unequivocally condemns and denounces the vicious US bombing attack on the Syrian army defending Deir ez-Zour, and we wish to make the following observations.

The attack killed at least 62 Syrian soldiers and wounded more than 100. This is larger than the number of casualties inflicted in any US bombing on any terrorist target in Syria since the US announced its “war on ISIS”.

War Of Words Between Russia, U.S. After Emergency UNSC Meeting

By Brandon Turbeville

The American airstrikes on Syrian forces in Deir al-Zour on Saturday have produced a chain reaction throughout the diplomatic world, with Russia calling an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council regarding the attacks and causing a war of words between Russian and American ambassadors...

Obama is Protecting the Terrorists, America to the Rescue of ISIS-ISIL-Daesh. Testimonies of Syrian Soldiers Who Witnessed the US Airstrikes

These testimonies by Syrian soldiers who are fighting the Islamic State rebels (ISIS-Daesh) confirm what we already know.

The United States of America is not fighting the terrorists in Syria.

The Obama administration, with the support of its allies including Turkey and Saudi Arabia, is supporting the Islamic State (ISIS Daesh)

Obama’s counterterrorism campaign in Syria and Iraq is bogus.

Read carefully:

The testimonies confirm the unspoken truth:

OBAMA IS PROTECTING THE TERRORISTS

- We [Syrian soldiers] first thought the aircraft are support to us after the first 2 shots, but we quickly found out that they are targeting our forces aggressively, while we were fighting IS terrorists. The aircraft used cluster bombs against us.

- A day before the airstrikes, the [US] drones were flying and scanning all the area

- The US air-strikes destroyed all our equipment and defense points.

Webmaster's Commentary:

At this particular moment in time, although I love my country, I am not terribly proud to be an American, understanding full well the depth of carnage my government has created in the processes of attempting regime changes, invasions and occupations to expropriate resources to which it has no moral right, and partnering (as they have with Saudi Arabia) in war crimes.

Pentagon 'Succeeded in Ruining' Lavrov-Kerry Deal on Syria

The fragile ceasefire deal hammered out by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State John Kerry earlier this month has been hanging in the balance, with the main threat coming from the Pentagon, Fyodor Lukyanov, editor-in-chief of Russia in Global Affairs, told newspaper Vzglyad.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF, in fact, the Pentagon is "at war" with the White House over Syria, this country, this government, and the world are in a very perilous state of affairs.

But I have to wonder; was this suggestion that the Pentagon caused this to happen created to offer Obama "plausible deniability" for the strike?!?

Because, if not, and if Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Joseph Dunford, and US Sec-Def Ash Carter signed off on this without Presidential authority, they both need to be handed their hats, and immediately!!

Syria Ceasefire Collapses in Wake of Weekend US Airstrikes

The Syrian ceasefire formally ended today, with the Syrian military announcing it was no longer sustainable amid growing rebel strikes. This was seen as all but inevitable since Saturday, when a botched US airstrike killed 83 Syrian soldiers and allowed ISIS to advance into crucial area around the Deir Ezzor Airport.

The ceasefire was already fraying, and the US airstrike effectively obliged Syria and Russia to launch renewed airstrikes against ISIS in the area around Deir Ezzor, if only to try to reclaim some of the territory the US strike cost them around the vital airport.

The truce began last Monday evening, and was a rousing success for the first few days, with no civilian deaths for several days, giving the country a rare period of calm after several years of war. There were some skirmishes reported later in the week, however, and then the US strike, by far the deadliest incident of the week, set off a powderkeg.

Video Shows American Soldiers Posing As “Rebels,” “Fleeing” Jihadists In Syria

In a series of reports floating around even some of the mainstream press organs, a video has emerged that reportedly shows U.S. “commandos” fleeing U.S.-backed rebels in the northern part of Syria.

The video shows what appears to be American soldiers riding in the backs of white Toyota pickups leaving the area that Turkish troops, with FSA terrorists in tow, recently conquered from “ISIS” militants. While many of the reports suggest that the soldiers are “fleeing” the scene, the men in the footage seem incredibly nonchalant for those who are trying to escape. Instead, they seem calm, even waving at the FSA terrorists shouting abuse at them as they drive away.

Donald Trump vs Hillary Clinton – The debate

Question: What kind of foreign policy agenda can we expect?

Donald Trump is one of the most unorthodox presidential nominees in American electoral history. He is unpolished and very brash. But some of his foreign policy ideas are intriguing, even common sense. This terrifies and enrages the establishment.

The Hillary Doctrine: if elected, what kind of foreign policy agenda can we expect? Does Clinton hold an extreme view of American exceptionalism? And is she now a neoconservative?

U.N. suspends aid convoys in Syria after deadly attack on relief shipment

In Moscow, Russia’s Defense Minister strongly denied suggestions — carried by some Syrian activists — that its warplanes hit the convoy.

Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov, a Defense Ministry spokesman, did not directly accuse rebel factions opposing the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, a key Russian ally. But he said the fire in the aid convoy “strangely began” during a “massive rebel offensive” in the northern city of Aleppo.

The United States supports some opposition groups seeking to topple Assad. Both sides now blame the other for collapsing the cease-fire.

Ambassador Ala: US aggression on Syrian military site in Deir Ezzor deliberate and preplanned

“All facts indicate that the US attack on a Syrian military position in al-Tharda Mountain in Deir Ezzor was deliberate and pre-planned and aimed to pave the way for the ISIS terrorists to attack and take control over the site,” Syria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva, Ambassador Hussam Eddin Ala said on Monday.

Ala made his remarks during an interactive dialogue with the Commission of Inquiry on Syria at the 33th session of the Human Rights Council held at the UN headquarters in Geneva.

Moscow Denies Russian, Syrian Planes Struck Aleppo Aid Convoy

Russian and Syrian aircraft did not carry out any airstrikes against a UN humanitarian aid convoy near the city of Aleppo, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said Tuesday. According to the general, the monitoring finished when all humanitarian aid was delivered at around 10:40 GMT. "Further movements of the convoy were not monitored by the Russian side. Only the militants controlling this area know details of the convoy’s location."

EXCLUSIVE: ‘Aleppo Media Centre’ Funded By French Foreign Office, EU and US

This Aleppo Media Centre pulled off a propaganda coup – one that generated calls for a No-Fly-Zone and associated western intervention policies all focused on salvaging the US failed road map of “regime change” in Syria. However, a number of independent international journalists, media analysts, and peace activists began to question the imagery and its source, which revealed some extremely disturbing details – not only about the picture itself, but more importantly about the organization who supplied it to an eager western media.

'Nobody Believes in It. Everyone on the Ground Knows They Are Jihadis.' -- US Special Forces Hate Their Syria Mission

“Nobody believes in it. You’re like, ‘Fuck this,'” a former Green Beret says of America’s covert and clandestine programs to train and arm Syrian militias. “Everyone on the ground knows they are jihadis. No one on the ground believes in this mission or this effort, and they know they are just training the next generation of jihadis, so they are sabotaging it by saying, ‘Fuck it, who cares?'”

US blames Russia after UN aid convoy in Syria targeted by air attack

The US said it blamed Russia for the attack on the convoy, whether or not Russian planes were involved, arguing Moscow was responsible under the ceasefire agreement for reining in Bashar al-Assad’s government forces.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Given that the US 'accidentally' bombed Syrian forces, how do we know it wasn't the US that 'accidentally' bombed the aid convoy?

SYRIA: Negotiations and The Battlefield ~ Dr Bouthaina Shaaban

The moment the Syrian Arab Army liberates an area from terrorists, voices in the West begin to express worry about civilians and their humanitarian situation, calling for a truce and the delivery of aid! The harmony between the situation the terrorists find themselves in and the West’s worries has become apparent at different junctures.

This proves that the West, which had occupied Iraq with its own troops, has only changed its tactics, using instead proxies in the form of terrorist groups that are funded, armed, and directed from abroad. We saw many countries moving in their troops and heavy weapons when these terrorist groups failed to achieve the objectives planned for them.

Therefore, the results of the meeting between Kerry and Lavrov on 9 September indicates without a doubt that the difficulty of having any dialogue is rooted in the fact that it is between those who targeted Syria, and those who stood firm in protecting the Syrian state and people.

Syrian Army Destroys Leading al-Nusra Unit in Aleppo

It looks like the massacre of Syrian troops by the US has kind of backfired. Sorta like,"Remember The Alamo". Seems to have the Syrians and Russians motivated.

HMEIMIM (Sputnik) — Syrian government troops supported by the Russian Aerospace Forces have destroyed a leading unit of the Jabhat Fatah Al-Sham group, formerly known as al-Nusra Front, in Aleppo, the Russian center for Syrian reconciliation said in statement Tuesday.
