Turkey Cannot Fight PKK at Expense of Counter-Daesh Fight - US State Dept.

Turkey cannot fight the Kurdistan People’s Party (PKK) at the expense of the regional fight to defeat the Islamic State, also known as Daesh (banned in Russia), acting US Department of State spokesperson Mark Toner said in a briefing on Tuesday.

"We’re also cognizant of the threat that the PKK poses to Turkey but again the point we made to Turkey and I’m making now is that Turkey cannot pursue that fight at the expense of our common fight against the terrorists that threaten us all," Toner told reporters.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF the PKK were legitimised in Turkey, and given the opportunity for true representation, this would not be an issue; unfortunately, the Kurds have been persecuted and marginalised in every possible way, and Turkey is paying the price for it.

‘Safe Zone’ In Syria: A Ploy to Ignite a New Battle Front

It hardly comes as a surprise anymore that the US and its allies in the Middle East are seeking to partition Syria in whichever means possible. However, the anti-American alliance of Syria, Russia, Iran, and Hezbollah dubbed the “Axis of Resistance” stands to oppose that division.

‘With Syria in pieces, it’s time to recognize Israel’s Annexation of the Golan’ read a headline at the Jerusalem Post on April 20 citing Israeli Deputy Minister for diplomacy Michael Oren who claimed that it is time for the world to recognize the Golan Heights as part of the Israeli entity. Even the Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu reaffirmed his country’s claim over the Golan Heights during summit talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin last month on March 10, 2017. Netanyahu blatantly claimed that the occupied “Golan is part of Israel and we will stay there for the world to acknowledge it as so”.

Trump Wants Regime Change in Syria

In March 2011, Obama launched war on Syria to destroy its sovereignty and replace Assad with pro-Western puppet rule.

Trump upped the stakes. He escalated war, increased US terror-bombing, and doubled the number of US forces on the ground ahead of likely larger numbers coming.

His hugely dangerous war plan risks direct confrontation with Russia. Instead of governing responsibly, he’s recklessly risking possible nuclear war in the Middle East and on the Korean peninsula.

Netanyahu Says Syria's Golan Heights Belongs To ISRAEL

Hello Jeff - Here it is, Netanyahu says the Golan Heights belong to Israel. Then, Netanyahu tells Syria that the Israelis will 'rebuild Syria' in exchange for the Golan Heights.

Israel wants the Golan Heights pretty badly so this gives credence to my theory that the Jews are pushing for the Syrian refugees to be moved to the West. (and out of the way of Israel)

Now you know why Trump dropped the cruise missals onto Syria. With more destruction due, there will be plenty to rebuild.

Trump is taking orders from Israel which makes him an incompetent President. Trump should be replaced immediately.

Alasdair Macleod Reveals America’s Financial War Strategy

America’s renewed desire to escalate military tensions is a front for America’s continual financial war, this time directed at North Korea, Syria and possibly Iran. This is likely to be the opinion of China’s strategic advisors. We analyse the geopolitics and economics behind America’s war strategy from China’s perspective, concluding that it is entering its final phase. China’s exit plan appears to be to tie the pricing of energy and then other major commodities to gold, returning to the pre-1971 status quo, when the dollar was just a settlement link between commodity prices and gold. Except this time, the dollar itself will be side-lined, so far as China is concerned, which will use the yuan instead for its empire, which will be far larger than that of the US in time, measured by GDP.

TURKISH AIRSTRIKES ON KURDS COMPLICATE U.S. OPERATIONS IN IRAQ AND SYRIA

A few hour ago the Turkish airforce hit Kurdish and Yezidi positons on both sides of the Singal mountains in east-Syria and west-Iraq. Near Derik in east-Syria more than 20 bombs destroyed a YPG headquarter, a radio station and a media center. At least nine YPK fighters were killed. The YPG is the Syrian sister organization of the Kurdish PKK in Turkey. The PKK is a designated terrorist organization. Within Syria U.S. special forces are embedded with the YPG and are coordinating YPG moves against the Islamic State in Raqqa. YPK and PKK follow the anarcho-marxist theories of their leader Abdullah Öcalan who is in isolation detention in Turkey.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The question is, what can the US offer Erdogan's Turkey, to make it comfortable with in an independent Kurdistan, when the Turkish government has made it clear that ethnic Kurds in their country are persona non grata, and done their best to suppress Kurdish political parties?!?

But until, and unless, the US has something to offer Turkey, in exchange for them accepting the reality of an independent Kurdistan, these attacks will continue, and most probably worsen.

ISIS Once 'Apologized' to Israel for Attacking IDF Soldiers: Fmr Defense Minister's Stunning Admission

ISIS once ‘apologized’ to Israel for attacking IDF soldiers – former Defense Minister

Tel Aviv remains so “neutral” in the Syrian conflict that even Islamic State terrorists have on at least one occasion “apologized” to Israel for mistakenly attacking IDF soldiers in the occupied Golan Heights, according to a former Israeli Defense Minister.

Speaking about the wider Israeli policy of “neutrality” in Syria, former defense minister Moshe Ya’alon accidentally acknowledged that Israel has an open communications channel with an Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) cell which operates in Gollan Heights.

“There was one case recently where Daesh opened fire and apologized,” Ya’alon said on Saturday, as cited by the Times of Israel.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – APRIL 25, 2017: SYRIAN ARMY ADVANCING ON MILITANT STRONGHOLD OF LATAMINAH

Syrian government forces have regained more areas from Hayat Tahrir al-Sham-led forces in northern Hama. Government troops have captured Massanah, Zawr Mahruqah, and reached Markabah. Clashes were also reported in Buwaida and Zailaqiat. Current developments show that government forces will likely attempt to secure Buwaida and Markabah and then storm Lataminah.

Fresh speculation has been circulating in the media that Russia is preparing to deploy its ground forces to Syria following an expected official request by the Syrian government. The reports refer to some unknown military sources and argue that a plan for the deployment already exists. However, this looks like another attempt to warm things up on the diplomatic front amid the collapse of “opposition” forces in northern Hama.

Israel Makes It Official: The Destruction of Syria Will Legitimize Israeli Land Grabs

Israel's deputy minister for diplomacy Michael Oren has announced that 'there is no Syria to negotiate with', which means that Israel's illegal occupation of the Golan should be recognized by the international community.

Capitalizing on the chaos and destruction of a six-year war to push for international recognition of occupied land? That's not very neighborly.

According to Oren, "Without Israel there [in the Golan], the region would be jeopardized. ISIS would be on the Kinneret."

Perhaps this is the reason why Israel has repeatedly targeted the Syrian Army and its allies fighting Islamic State in Syria, instead of bombing ISIS?

How the U.S. Government Spins the Story

Sounds like we’ve heard it all before, because we have, back in August 2013, and that turned out to be less than convincing. Skepticism is likewise mounting over current White House claims that Damascus used a chemical weapon against civilians in the village of Khan Sheikhoun in Idlib province on April 4th. Shortly after the more recent incident, President Donald Trump, possibly deriving his information from television news reports, abruptly stated that the government of President Bashar al-Assad had ordered the attack. He also noted that the use of chemicals had “crossed many red lines” and hinted that Damascus would be held accountable. Twenty-four hours later retribution came in the form of the launch of 59 cruise missiles directed against the Syrian airbase at Sharyat. The number of casualties, if any, remains unclear and the base itself sustained only minor damage amidst allegations that many of the missiles had missed their target.

Debunking Trump’s Casus Belli

Recently, with the cruise missile attacks on a Syrian airfield, there has been a considerable loosening of the normal restraints that employees exercise regarding their duties. Even more than the invasion of Iraq, which was viewed skeptically by many in the community, the decision by President Trump to retaliate with force against Damascus has been met with dismay among many of those closest to the action in the Middle East.

Many officers have expressed frustration and anger over what has taken place—not to challenge national-security policy, which they leave up to the politicians, but because they are perceiving a tissue of lies, as in Iraq. They have expressed their concerns in very specific ways to former fellow officers and friends. For the first time, people on the inside of the process are really talking. And we have been listening, astonished at the level of anger.

FLASHBACK 2012 - Israel Lobby Pushes for US Action Against the Syrian Government (to weaken Iran)

The neoconservatives, the vanguard of the Israel lobby, have especially been ardent in their advocacy of a hardline, interventionist position toward Syria. Evidence abounds for this finding, but it is best encapsulated by an August 2011 open letter from the neoconservative Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (an organization which claims to address any “threat facing America, Israel and the West”) to President Obama, urging him to take stronger measures against Syria.

Did Russia Shoot Down US Missiles In Syria

In an exclusive video interview with RiskHedge, a long-time geopolitical expert says there is an alternate story making the rounds about the United States’ April 7 missile strike on Syria’s Shayrat Airbase in response to the Syrian regime’s alleged use of sarin gas on its own people.

“Not all missiles made their target,” says Dr. Theodore Karasik, a senior advisor to Gulf State Analytics. “There were supposed to be 60. One malfunctioned on one of the ships. 36 made target, the remainder did not. And, there’s a question of where did they go?”

Dr. Karasik, a former senior political scientist in the International Policy and Security Group at RAND Corporation, spent the last decade in the Middle East and retains an extensive network in the region.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Actually, 36 missed. Only 23 made the target. Of the 36 that missed, some are known to have hit three nearby villages.

US Defense Secretary Targets Syria with Chemical Weapons Allegations

Speaking on a visit to Israel on Friday, US Defense Secretary James “Mad Dog” Mattis charged that the Syrian government has violated an agreement brokered by Moscow in 2013 by holding onto chemical weapons.

“The bottom line is there can be no doubt in the international community’s mind that Syria has retained chemical weapons in violation of its agreement and its statement that it had removed them all,” Mattis said during a press conference standing alongside his Israeli counterpart, the extreme right-wing Zionist Avigdor Lieberman.

Mattis refused to provide any estimate of what quantity of chemical weapons he believes are in Syrian hands, claiming that it would compromise intelligence sources. He charged, however, that Damascus was in violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions and warned that it would be “ill-advised to use any again. We’ve made that very clear with our first strike.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

All the various wars are back, and with a vengeance; and the American Deep State believes that they need to go very quickly into Syria; North Korea; Iran; Somalia; and parts of Iraq, and regime change them all, before Americans start thinking, rejecting the codswallop they are being force-fed by both the US government, and its corporate presstitutes to further its agenda, and start protesting in the numbers which stopped the Vietnam War.

Because that is what it will take to end this war agenda, if it is humanly possible to do so at this point.

IF Americans cannot and do not act against these wars, in the most peaceful, and logical way possible, humanity is facing a global catastrophe of Biblical proportions.

Pentagon chief in Israel to discuss Iran, Syria

US Defense Secretary General James Mattis has arrived in Israel for talks expected to focus on Iran and Syria as well the strategic relations between Tel Aviv and Washington.

Mattis arrived in Tel Aviv Thursday afternoon from Cairo on the third leg of a week-long tour of the US allies in the Middle East.

Marking the first time he has visited Israel as the Pentagon chief, Mattis was greeted by an official honor guard at army headquarters in Tel Aviv on Friday morning.

He then met the Israeli minister for military affairs, Avigdor Lieberman, and is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Reuven Rivlin.

Mattis hopes to hear directly from Israeli leaders their concerns about regional issues, with Iran’s influence topping the list.

'No doubt Syria has chemical weapons'

Webmaster's Commentary:

With the corporate presstitutes demonising Iran this last week (for what specifically, I cannot tell you, because the IAEA has stated that they are still in compliance with the P5+1 deal), I'm not surprised by Sec-Def Mattis' trip to Israel.

What I know, just as certainly as I'm sitting here typing this, is that the Israeli government will make every effort to urge Mattis to "regime change" both Iran and Syria, and just as soon as humanly possible, and with the minimal Israeli military involvement.

Because from the Israeli government's perspective, it should always be American blood and money spent to achieve Israel's geopolitical objectives in the region.

But, as I mentioned in a previous article, there's a 6,000 lb gorilla, resting comfortably on the Bosendorfer; and that 6,000 lb gorilla is... Russia.

American meddling on the ground in Syria may well push al-Assad to invite Russian ground troops into the fray; and Russian political and military leaders have consistently stressed that should Iran be attacked, that Russia would come to its aid militarily.

Sec-Def Mattis, you know what kinds of arms and training the Russians have; would you bet the future existence of the United States against this?!?

Sir, I am hoping - and praying - that the short answer here is...no.

What's Behind US, EU's Reluctance to Investigate Idlib Chemical Incident

It is hardly surprising that the US and EU policymakers turn a deaf ear to Russia and Damascus's plea to conduct a scrupulous investigation into the suspected use of the chemical weapons in Khan Shaykhun, Russian political analyst Stanislav Tarasov told Radio Sputnik, explaining why the West is uninterested in carrying out such an inquiry.

While American and European politicians remain surprisingly reluctant to the idea to investigate the suspected chemical attack in Khan Shaykhun, political analyst, and head of the Middle East-Caucasus think-tank Stanislav Tarasov suggests that "the West" is by no means interested in conducting such an inquiry.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – APRIL 21, 2017: BATTLE FOR NORTHERN HAMA

On April 20, the northern Hama frontline experienced a major breakthrough when government forces, led by the Syrian Army’s Tiger Forces and 5th Legion, captured the strategic militant-held town of Taibat al-Imam. Government forces had entered the town from the southeastern direction following intense artillery and air strikes and pushed members of Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) and allied militant groups to withdraw from the town after a 8-hours long battle. After the withdrawal of the so-called opposition, pro-militant media activists released a number of contradictory reports that up to 80 “regime soldiers” were killed in the clashes. Nevertheless, with no proofs this looked like a wishful thinking. In turn, two leaders of Jaish al-Izza, “Saher al-Saleh” and “Muhammad Jallad” were confirmed to be killed as a result of the artillery strikes.

Stay out of Syria: Why warmongering is BAD for Britain, writes Ben Harris-Quinney

At the same time the White House was briefing there was no shift in Syria policy, and the US missile strike was a one-off reaction to Assad's reported use of chemical weapons. In truth, it was as much a show of strength to China and North Korea.

It was obvious to any observer that the UK Government's continuous support for foreign intervention was not chiming with the new global order, or even the US. It has not been chiming with the British public for 15 years.

The Foreign Office proposals were swiftly and embarrassingly further dismissed at the G7 meeting just two days later. Much of this will be papered over as focus shifts to the General Election, but an outdated and ill-conceived foreign policy could at any time blow up and derail both a government and the Brexit process.

Trump’s missile attack on Syria was justified with fake intelligence: experts

On April 7, President Trump committed his first “act of war,” attacking Syria with missiles in response to what he said was a poison gas attack by the Syrian government that killed dozens. But the White House’s subsequent intelligence report offering its proof of Syria’s role was “false” and “fraudulent,” suggesting a “coverup” by a president acting without any intelligence and intentionally lying to the public.

These are the characterizations of two longtime experts in war studies and missile systems, which—along with coordinated comments by Vice President Mike Pence in South Korea and Secretary of State Rex Tillerson in Russia that America’s “strategic patience” is ending—suggest Trump may be seeking a war of choice, even if it involves fabricated intelligence.

The FBI is responsible for more terrorism plots in the United States than any other organization. More than al Qaeda, more than al Shabaab, more than the Islamic State, more than all of them combined.

0:26
This isn't likely how you think about the FBI. You probably think of FBI agents gunning down bad guys like John Dillinger, or arresting corrupt politicians.

0:36
After the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the FBI became less concerned with gangsters and crooked elected officials. The new target became terrorists, and the pursuit of terrorists has consumed the FBI.

0:47
Every year, the Bureau spends 3.3 billion dollars on domestic counterterrorism activities. Compare than to just 2.6 billion dollars combined for organized crime, financial fraud, public corruption and all other types of traditional criminal activity.

Reports About Capture of Daesh Leader Baghdadi Not True - Syrian President Assad

Syrian President Bashar Assad in an interview with Sputnik denied reports of the capture of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the leader of Daesh (the Islamic State terrorist organization, or IS, banned in Russia).

"That's not true. Anyway, those borders are under the control of [Daesh] till this moment, it's neither Syrian nor Russian, not even Western or American or any other one; it's only [Daesh] who's controlling those borders, so it's safe for al-Baghdadi to be in that area," Assad said.

‘Hard to say no’: Johnson hints parliament vote against Syria invasion may be ignored at US request

British Foreign Secretary Johnson was on Tuesday briefing MPs on the situation in Syria and North Korea, when he was posed with a question by former Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Conservative MP, Alistair Burt. Burt asked what the UK government’s reaction would have been if, instead of just hitting Syria’s Shayrat airfield on April 7, Washington decided to first enlist military help from Britain.

When asked if he and the British government consider themselves to be “bound” by the past decision not to intervene in Syria and plan to reinvigorate the parliamentary debate or “if not, what might the United Kingdom be able to do to demonstrate its force and resolve,” Johnson hinted that the UK is ready to back Washington not only politically but also militarily.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So Foreign Secretary Johnson would be willing to ignore the stated will of Parliament on Syria, to please his American counterparts, who will most probably want, and ask for, British military help in Syria?!?

This is hubris, writ large.

So what happens when British troops wind up in direct military conflict with the Russian troops, which have been invited by the Syrian government to deal with the jihadists?!?

War with Russia?!?!?

Or have you actually thought it through to that point, just where military aid to the US in Syria was ultimately leading, Secretary Johnson?!?

If I could, I would want to make it a universal law that those opting for wars should consistently have their kids in the front lines, catching flack.

I honestly think that this would be a way to diminish the lust for war as "the only way" through which countries could settle their geopolitical differences.

U.S. Bombed a Mosque in Syria, Killing Dozens of Civilians, Investigators Conclude

As my colleague Alex Emmons reported last month, Syrian activists and first responders accused the United States of killing dozens of civilians in an airstrike that mistakenly targeted a mosque in the rebel-held village of al-Jinah on the evening of March 16.

Confronted with these claims, a Pentagon spokesman, Navy Captain Jeff Davis, told The Intercept that they were mistaken. “The area was extensively surveilled prior to the strike in order to minimize civilian casualties,” Davis said. “We deliberately did not target the mosque.”

As evidence, Davis provided an aerial photograph of the building destroyed in the attack, identified by U.S. officials as a “partially constructed community meeting hall.”

“The mosque in the left edge of the photo was not targeted,” Davis stressed in a briefing for reporters the next day. “Military officials believe dozens of al-Qaida terrorist leaders were killed in the strike.”

Russian Defense Ministry Questions Videos Of Syria Chemical Attack

The Russian Defense Ministry on Tuesday cast doubt on videos by the White Helmets showing the chemical attack in Syria.

The White Helmets, or the Syria Civil Defense, is a volunteer organization that operates in parts of rebel-controlled Syria. The White Helmets receive funding from the United States, the United Kingdom and other western governments.

In a statement on Facebook, the Russian Defense Ministry said that two weeks have passed after “the alleged use of chemical weapons in Khan Sheikhoun. However, two videos made by the White Helmets are the only ‘evidence’ of the chemical weapon use.”

Within 63 hours of reports about a chemical weapons attack on the rebel-held town of Khan Sheikhoun in the Syrian province of Idlib which killed approximately 80 people including children, on April 4, US ships in the eastern Mediterranean sent 59 Tomahawk missiles aimed at the Shayrat air base from which, the US claims, the aircraft that carried out the attack took off.

White Helmets Propaganda Troupe Show How Their Videos Are Made

The video below was originally uploaded on November 18 in the channel of the RFSMediaOffice (Revolutionary Forces of Syria Media Office), a propaganda organization supporting various groups fighting the Syrian state.

It depicts the "Making of" a scene where people in White Helmets outfit "rescue" a man. For some 20 seconds the two "rescuers" and the "victim" are motionless waiting for the command to start a hectic "rescue operation" and, when that starts, adds on the usual background sound of screaming people.

SYRIAN WAR REPORT – APRIL 20, 2017: FOREIGN POWERS TO INCREASE SUPPORT TO MILITANTS IN SYRIA

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), predominantly consisting of members of the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), has created a “civilian council” to rule the Syrian city of Raqqah after its expected liberation from ISIS terrorists. The announcement took place after a meeting in the SDF-held town of Ain Issa located north of Raqqah.

These developments clearly show that foreign sponsors of various factions involved in the war are increasing their activity in Syria ahead of the expected division of spheres of influence after the collapse of ISIS.

Russia Stands Behind Assad After Syrian Chemical Weapons Attack

Russia is standing firmly behind the regime of Bashar Assad in Syria, despite growing international outrage over the latest chemical weapons attack.

Russia’s attempts to blame the gas attack on rebel weapons reportedly angered the U.N. Security Council, per the BBC. Russia claims the Syrian government did conduct airstrikes against the town of Khan Sheikhoun, but the strikes accidentally hit a compound that was producing illegal chemical weapons for the rebels.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, let's recap. Assad was winning on all fronts, including diplomatic. He had all but beaten the US-backed rebels. Peace talks were about to start that would allow him to run for re-election. Even the White House stated they were ready to accept the continued Presidency of Assad.

So, someone tell me why Assad would do the one thing that would cross a red line and reverse his fortunes, using a banned chemical weapon on civilians (instead of the rebels) in a militarily insignificant target! He has nothing to gain. It is the rebels and US warhawks who gain.

And please remember that back in 2013 and 2014, the US Government ( the same US Government who told you Saddam had nuclear weapons) claimed Assad gassed his own people, only to have the UN chemical weapons inspectors report that it was the US-backed rebels who carried out the attacks to frame Assad.

The Hasty Trump Syria Attack Game – It Doesn’t Add Up

There is the bizarre fact that the alleged sarin gas bombing by the Syrian Air Force came just days after US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and the US President both indicated that forcing Assad out was no longer US priority, but an issue that ought to be decided by the Syrian people. With Assad’s forces having liberated large swaths of ISIS and Al Nusra terrorist areas, including Aleppo, it would make no sense for Assad to use illegal chemical weapons at this stage when he is apparently winning on all fronts including diplomatic. It would have been illogical and suicidal of Bashar al Assad. And whatever his faults, those are not among them.

Trump Has Killed Beautiful Babies in Four Countries

US president Donald Trump sounded sincere when he described how he felt after seeing pictures of "beautiful little babies" allegedly killed by a Syrian government chemical weapons attack on April 4.

“These heinous actions by the Assad regime cannot be tolerated," said Trump, and hours later, the US launched nearly 60 tomahawk missiles in response to the allegations.

But what about the beautiful little babies killed by US bombs since Trump became president? Is Trump not concerned about those children because they were killed by his missiles, and not Assad’s chemical weapons?

In the first three months of his presidency, Trump has dropped bombs – and killed children – in Yemen, Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I am rather struck by the utter cynicism and hypocrisy of the Trump Administration, which seems to collectively believe that the assassinations and deaths of some children are "...more equal than others" - particularly if those deaths can be used as "justification/propaganda" for supporting US military action against specific countries, like Syria, which did not use poison gas against its own people.

Former Department of Defense Science Adviser Debunks Claims of Syrian Chemical Attacks

By Derrick Broze

As the United States and Western allies march closer to full-scale conflict with Syria, many of their claims are now being scrutinized and dissected by a skeptical public.

On April 4, residents of the town of Khan Shaykhun suffered a chemical gas attack that reportedly killed 74 and injured 557. Despite a lack of evidence or investigation, the United States government, allied governments, and compliant media were quick to point the finger at Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad. The dead stream media ignored the fact that Khan Shaykhun was under the control of Al-Nusra Front, an al-Qaeda linked group which the United States has been funding throughout the Syrian civil war. Instead, the West claimed that Assad launched an air strike which released sarin gas, leading to the deaths and injuries...

Jon Rappoport: Why Russia has become the number-one target in the US press

As David Icke stated on the Richie Allen show a few days ago, Russia was the player who was standing in the way of the long-term goal to get rid of Assad in Syria and turn the country into an oil producing hellhole like Libya.

The US government and its allies (Israel) had created, funded, and armed the group called ISIS, the proxy force for, among other operations, wiping out the Assad government in Syria. The Syria op was a slam-dunk...until it wasn't. Until Putin stepped in and gave air support to Assad's troops and turned the war around, bringing it to the brink of, God forbid, actual peace negotiations.

That outcome was definitely NOT on the agenda of the US Project for a New American Century, the neocon playbook for destabilizing the Middle East.

Putin was standing in the way. He was screwing up The NWO Plan. He was winning.

McMaster ‘Doubts’ US Will Send More Troops to Syria

In comments today on ABC’s “This Week,” National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster downplayed the chances of the US sending more ground troops to Syria, saying that it still “remains to be seen” if more troops are needed, but that he doubts the US will have to send any more.

President Trump had appeared to rule out such deployments last week, insisting “we’re not going into Syria,” though of course US forces are already in Syria, and there are proposals still coming in calling for additional US troops to be deployed.

The indications had been that McMaster was leading the push for more troops, however, and had even argued in favor of a deployment of some 50,000 US ground troops to fight in Syria. That McMaster is the one downplaying more troops now may suggest he’s been overruled.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This at least temporarily ratchets down the possibility of direct US/Russian military confrontation in Syria; but for how long, if regime change continues not to be accomplished in Damascus, which is the end goal of US foreign policy here?!?

And so far, the arming of both the Kurdish YPG, and various anti-government rebels hasn't worked at all; in fact, these appear to be historically failed US policies.

“We have reiterated our position and were united in stating that the attack was an act of aggression, which blatantly violated the principles of international law and the UN Charter,” Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

“We call on the US and its allies to respect Syria’s sovereignty and refrain from actions similar to what happened on April 7, and which have serious ramification not only for regional, but also global security,” he added.

Will Trump's reversal on Syrian refugees make him a one-term president?

Supporters of Donald Trump, many of whom prominently campaigned for his election, are outraged by all the campaign promises he has reversed himself on – NATO, military action in Syria, the Federal Reserve, and the repeal of Obamacare, to name a few. But the straw that may break the camel's back is the issue of immigration and border security.

Trump campaigned against letting more Syrian refugees in; in fact, he was so firmly against them, he said he would deport the ones already here. But what has happened now is that not only is Trump letting in more Syrian refugees, but he is admitting them at twice the rate that Obama did. On this issue, Trump is the political equivalent of not one, but two Barack Obamas.

How to bring down the elephant in the room

The reason why I decided to tackle this issue today is that the forces who broke Trump in less than a month are also the very same forces who have forced him into a political 180: the Neocons and the US deep state. However, I think that these two concepts can be fused into on I would call the “Ziocons”: basically Zionists plus some rabid Anglo imperialists à la Cheney or McCain. These are the folks who control the US corporate media, Hollywood, Congress, most of academia, etc. These are the folks who organized a ferocious assault on the “nationalist” or “patriotic” wing of Trump supporters and ousted Flynn and Bannon and these are the folks who basically staged a color revolution against Trump. There is some pretty good evidence that the person in charge of this quiet coup is Jared Kushner, a rabid Zionist. Maybe. Maybe not.

Just as the Obama administration excoriated Gaddafi in 2011, highlighting his human rights abuses and insisting he must be removed from power to protect the Libyan people, the Trump administration is now pointing to the repressive policies of Bashar al-Assad in Syria and warning his regime will soon come to an end — all in the name of protecting Syrian civilians.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please remember; Hillary Clinton was the ultimate "cheerleader" for the policy of assassinating Qaddafi, and installing a puppet government in Libya; the horrific resurgence of slavery to this country, ultimately, has been the result of President Obama's having acquiesced to her on this issue.

Such a move won't be quite so easy in Syria, however, because this risks war with Russia. and I really hope and pray that President Trump has not been "informationally cocooned" to the point where he believes such a war would be a "cakewalk".

It’s time America explored how to end the multiple wars it has helped cause since 2001, rather than dropping more bombs

Moan about Trump all you like, but his approach to Syria was always much more realistic than Hillary Clinton’s. ‘You are fighting Syria, Syria is fighting Isis, and you have to get rid of Isis,’ he said during his election campaign. ‘Now we’re backing rebels against Syria, and we have no idea who these people are’

Car bomb attack on Syria evacuees kills more than 100

A massive car bomb attack on a convoy carrying evacuees from besieged government-held towns in Syria killed more than 100 people and wounded hundreds, a monitor said Sunday.
The blast on Saturday tore through buses carrying residents from the northern towns of Fuaa and Kafraya as they waited at a transit point in rebel-held Rashidin, west of Aleppo.

Trump Rejects Diplomatic Conflict Resolution in Syria

Straightaway in office, he breached his positive campaign pledges, notably to end the “mess” of endless US wars - he now wholeheartedly supports, making him an unindicted war criminal.

His preemptive April 7 aggression on Syria alone shows he rejects peaceful conflict resolution.

On Friday, Assad’s political advisor Bouthaina Shaaban commented, saying his preemptive attack greatly undermined peace talks.

Without America on board, successful conflict resolution is unattainable. Shaaban blasted anti-government elements involved in talks, asking “(w)hat kind of opposition can support strikes on their home country?”

MIT professor exposes ‘egregious error’ & evidence tampering in US report on Syria sarin incident

Postol’s key argument is a series of photographs of the crater where the container holding sarin was supposedly air-dropped. He pointed to a photograph of several men inspecting the site, wearing loose clothing and medical gloves.

“If there were any sarin present at this location when this photograph was taken everybody in the photograph would have received a lethal or debilitating dose of sarin,” he wrote. “The fact that these people were dressed so inadequately either suggests a complete ignorance of the basic measures needed to protect an individual from sarin poisoning, or that they knew that the site was not seriously contaminated.”

Tillerson In Moscow: Is World War III Back On Track?

If anyone is worried whether the prospect of a major war, which many of us considered almost inevitable if Hillary Clinton had attained the White House, is back on track, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson’s visit to Moscow was cold comfort. From his remarks together with his counterpart Sergey Lavrov, there is now little reason to expect any improvement in US-Russia ties anytime soon, if ever, and much reason to expect them to get worse – a lot worse.

There has been a great deal of speculation as to why President Donald Trump, who promised a break with the warmongering policies Hillary would have implemented, and which characterized the administrations of Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, would have bombed Syria’s Shayrat airbase in retaliation for a supposed chemical weapons (CW) strike without evidence or authorization from either Congress or the UN Security Council.

Webmaster's Commentary:

In looking, analytically, at the results of last year's election, it has become crystal clear precisely what, rather than who, won that election, and the victor was ...the American Deep State, whose motives, objectives, and plans do not change, regardless of who "chairs" the oval office.

Those agendas include wars with Russia and China, to destabilize the ruble and the yuan, and to protect the financial empires of both the international elite, and the American elite.

Looking at the tensions building up with Syria and Russia, I would not be surprised to see a reinstitution of the draft in this country, and sooner rather than later; but this one will be coming not only for America's sons, but for America's daughters as well.

President Trump has, since his inauguration, proven himself to be totally impotent against the American Deep State, and has done so many flip-flops on domestic and international policies to please his new masters, that it nearly gave me whiplash in watching these position reversals.

What we will see with this man's administration, will be more wars; more state surveillance at every level; more Americans dying and getting maimed for life, for the pursuit of these wars, which are always economic in nature; and more income inequality.

Syria: Watching the Jordanian Border. America’s Military Buildup

While focus regarding the Syrian conflict has shifted almost exclusively to recent US cruise missile strikes, what the strikes are designed to lay the groundwork for holds much larger implications. Particular attention should be focused on US forces operating both within Syrian territory and along Syria’s borders.

Normalizing the use of stand-off weapons like cruise missiles makes it easier and more likely that similar attacks will unfold in the near future – particularly if Syria and its allies fail to demonstrate a significant deterrence against future attacks.

The use of stand-off weapons by the United States and the routine use of airstrikes by US allies including Israel within Syrian territory will likely open the door to wider and more direct military intervention against the Syrian government.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And what happens when US forces get into direct conflict with Russian forces on the ground in Syria?!?

Because I will tell you, that is very apt to happen here, and such a possibility concerns me greatly!!

US should use ISIS as a proxy - New plan for Syria published in New York Times

Thomas Friedman appears to become aroused by the prospect of war. It’d be more appropriate for The New York Times to let him manage this affliction from the safety of his private space than on the pages of the newspaper.

Especially when the Pulitzer Prize winner is calling for America to effectively ally itself with ISIS in Syria.

US claims about chemical attack in Syria resemble Iraqi WMD claims in 2003 – Assad’s key advisor

US statements blaming the Syrian government for the chemical attack in Idlib closely resemble the claims the US made about the weapons of mass destruction (WMD) possessed by Iraq in 2003, the Syrian president’s senior advisor told RT.

The allegations made by the US concerning the Syrian government being behind the chemical weapons incident in the town of Khan Shaykhun, near Idlib, defy any logic, Bouthaina Shaaban underlined. She added that such an attack would be “against the interests of the Syrian government” as it would eventually only “harm both the Syrian people and the government.”

Pompeo Declines to Offer Proof that Assad Gassed His Own People, Say Putin is a Liar

Our new CIA director, Mike Pompeo, made a few comments today regarding claims by both Assad and Putin that the chemical attack in Idlib was staged.

He declined to provide proof that could put this debate to rest, saying 'there are things that were used to form the base of our conclusions that we can't reveal.' Then he went on to discredit Putin, by pointing to previous instances when the Russian leader was less than forthcoming -- such as eastern Ukraine and the Malaysian airliner incident.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Translation: "Yes, I know we lied to you about Saddam's nuclear weapons and we lied about torpedoes in the Gulf of Tonkin and we lied about a Spanish mine sinking the USS Maine in Havana Harbor, and we lied when we said Lusitania wasn't smuggling weapons to Great Britain, and we lied when we claimed Assad gassed his own people in 2013 AND 2014, but you can trust us when we say Assad gassed his own people in Idlib even though we can;t show you any proof, because after all Putin is lying about Ukraine, even though we can;t show you proof of that, and Putin lied about the Malaysian airliner, and we can't show you the proof about that either! You're just going to have to trust me! We're the CIA,. and just because we lied to President Kennedy about the Bay of Pigs is no reason not to trust us now!"

Steve Bannon told to bury the hatchet with Jared Kushner

The rift between Mr Bannon and Mr Kushner

Sources in the White House said that Mr Trump had told Mr Bannon: “We gotta work this out” and to “cut it out” over the rivalry against the president’s son-in-law, whose influence has grown.

Mr Bannon is said to doubt that the peace will last. Nevertheless his supporters say that he is prepared to fight what he recognised as an all but unwinnable battle against a member of Mr Trump’s family.
