Will Trump Attack North Korea?

In his New Year’s Day address, North Korea’s Kim Jong-un said his nation was close to testing an ICBM which could hit the United States. Put a nuclear warhead on top and the North will have developed an effective deterrent against the global superpower.
Predictably, President-elect Donald Trump responded via tweet: “It won’t happen.”
Which means precisely what? He doesn’t believe the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea will be able to develop such a missile or miniaturize such a weapon? That’s unlikely, since Pyongyang’s weapons programs have developed further and faster than had been predicted. American officials might hope for technical difficulties, but it would be foolish to make hope the basis of U.S. policy toward the North.

Webmaster's Commentary:

What President-Elect Trump should do here is not rattling sabres (which would most likely mean an unwinnable war against China), but working directly with the Chinese government to get North Korea back to the negotiating table, and developing a real peace deal, which offers iron-clad guarantees regarding trade in exchange for North Korea stopping its nuclear weapons development program.

At the end of the day, negotiations here are the only real solution, coupled with the replacement of the armistice (which is simply a cessation of fighting between North and South Korean) by a true peace treaty.

Alibaba'a Jack Ma Drops a Redpill in Davos: The U.S. Wasted $14 Trillion on Wars Over the Past 30 Years

And there it is, the unvarnished, raw, truth about how everything went wrong for middle class America.

Since the Vietnam war, more than 45 years ago, the US has embarked on a neocon strategy of war in an effort to build a global empire. The result of that strategy has left American infrastructure second rate, its school system in shambles, and its healthcare system a complete and utter joke.

Just imagine what America could've done with $14t of investable dollars, instead of waging wars.

Aside from the wars, America spends more than 50% of its discretionary budget on the military, per annum, 16% of its overall budget.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Ma is utterly, devastatingly correct in his assessment.

Israel deploys 'Star Wars' missile killer system

Israel's upgraded ballistic missile shield became operational on Wednesday, in a "Star Wars"-like extension of its capabilities to outer space where incoming missiles can be safely destroyed.

The Defence Ministry said the U.S.-funded Arrow 3 system, jointly developed by state-owned Israel Aerospace Industries and U.S. firm Boeing Co. , was handed over the Israeli Air Force.

The Arrow 3, together with the Arrow 2, which has been operational since 2000, would "significantly reduce the possibilities of ballistic missiles" hitting Israel, the ministry said in a statement.

The Arrow 2 is designed to intercept projectiles high and low within the atmosphere. Arrow 3 missiles will fly into space, where their warheads detach to become "kamikaze" satellites that track and slam into their targets.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A little logic here; why in heaven's name, would Iran attack Israel, understanding full well that such an attack would result in Iran's becoming a large puddle of molten glass from the US/Israeli counterstrike?!?

The short answer is, they wouldn't.

Body Count: Judith Miller Slammed On Twitter For Saying Manning Leaks Killed People

Judith Miller, who through her reporting advocated invading Iraq in 2003, has been blasted on Twitter after criticizing President Barack Obama’s decision to commute Chelsea Manning’s prison sentence.

“How many people have died” as a result of Manning’s leaks?, Miller tweeted.

Miller, now a Fox News contributor, was a New York Times journalist who cited dodgy, unnamed sources in her reporting on the nonexistent weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in Iraq, leading up to the war that cost the lives of 4,424 US troops with 31,952 of them wounded.

56 Years Ago Today, Eisenhower Warned Americans Of "The Unwarranted Influence" Of The Deep State

In his farewell address to the nation 56 years ago, President Dwight D. Eisenhower warned the American people for the first time to keep a careful eye on what he called the "military-industrial complex" that had developed in the post-World War II years. Fiscally conservative Eisenhower had been concerned about the growing size and cost of the American defense establishment since he became president in 1953, and as History.com notes, in his last presidential address to the American people, he expressed those concerns in terms that shocked many of his listeners.

Is this proof America is preparing for war with Russia? US plane is spotted in a mock dogfight with a Russian jet above the top secret Area 51 base

The 42-year-old enthusiast from Hampshire in the UK said he thinks his images are the first of such an encounter in the United States.

He said the Russian jet was a Su-27P Flanker-B - which has never been officially imported into the United States.

'This aircraft was anonymous and unidentifiable, apart from the Soviet style camouflage it wore,' he said. 'After they finished their mission they flew into Groom Lake's highly restricted airspace.

HOW THE U.S. ENABLED ISIS TO TAKE DEIR EZZOR

The city of Deir Ezzor (Deir ez-Zur) in east-Syria is on the verge of falling into the hands of the Takfiris of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS). More than 100,000 civilian inhabitants of Deir Ezzor and thousands of soldiers defending them are in immediate danger of being murdered by the savage ISIS forces. The current situation is a direct consequence of U.S. military action against the SAA and non-action against ISIS.

Deir Ezzor is besieged by ISIS since September 2015. But the city was well defended by its garrison of Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and all further attacks by ISIS were repelled. Supply to the city was hauled in by air through the Deir Ezzor airport and through air drops by the Syrian and Russian airforces. Relief by ground forces and ground supplies are not possible as Deir Ezzor is more than 100 km away from the nearest SAA positions west of Palmyra and as the desert in between is under the control of ISIS.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It will only be a few days (hopefully) until the blood-soaked Obama regime is gone.

I hope Trump and his advisors are thinking about a way to deal with Syria which does not involve US boots on the ground, because that will almost inevitably lead to Russia boots on the ground here.

Can Trump Take Back The Presidency From The CIA? — Paul Craig Roberts

Paul Craig Roberts

If Trump intends to survive, he must break the CIA into a thousand pieces as President John F. Kennedy intended before the CIA assassinated him. Trump must arrest for treason the neoconservatives and put them on trial. Trump must curtail NSA’s spying, which is in complete violation of the US Constitution, on all communications of all Americans. Trump’s oath of office is to the Constitution, not to war on the American public. Trump must ban all presstitute print and TV media from White House press conferences and only give credentials to the alternative Internet media. The print and TV media are operatives of the CIA and are totally devoid of integrity. Indeed, perhaps the presstitutes should be arrested for treason and put on trial along with the neoconservatives and the CIA.

A Likely Way that Trump Would Be Forced Out of Office

It is clear, from the overwhelming opposition to Donald Trump’s taking office on January 20th as the U.S. President, opposition on the part of the entire U.S. Establishment — the aristocrats and their agents in the government and media and think tanks — that any opportunity to replace Trump with the Democratic Party’s Establishment Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, or any other Establishmentarian, would be welcomed by the Establishment.

Trump has appointed, as being far over a majority of the principal officers of the executive departments — i.e., majority of his 15-person Cabinet — Establishment Republicans, who favor continuation of the Cold War against Russia.

But now, could come the tactic that actually has the highest likelihood of succeeding, and it would replace Trump with his own Establishment Republican Vice President, Mike Pence. Here’s how it would work:

Section 4 of the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution asserts:

Russia's navy is engaging in its highest level of activity for more than 25 years, Britain's First Sea Lord warns as Putin prepares for war

The Royal Navy is facing its greatest challenge from Russia in more than 25 years, the First Sea Lord has warned.

Admiral Sir Philip Jones told his sailors that the Navy was dealing with the highest level of activity from submarines and warships since the end of the Cold War.
He added that the Navy was having to make 'difficult' cuts to equipment as Vladimir Putin's fleet had increased its activity.

In a New Year message to the Navy, Sir Philip said: 'In northern Europe and the Baltic, we are responding to the highest level of Russian naval activity since the end of the Cold War.'

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to Admiral Sir Philip Jones: sir, you seem to be developing a severe case of SMD (Selective Memory Disorder), and I would like to politely mention US and NATO troop movements of the last couple of weeks, available from public and common sources:

100’s of US tanks, heavy equipment flow into Europe to counter ‘Russian aggression’

Poland welcomes thousands of US troops in NATO show of force

US MARINES LAND IN NORWAY, SIGNALING DEPARTURE FROM POST-WW2 COMMITMENT TO RUSSIA

So what can we possibly assume that Vlad (the NON-impaler) and the Kremlin are thinking?!? Perhaps, in response to all these US/NATO movement of troops and equipment, current Russian naval deployments are possibly intended to keep Russia's options open, in case there is a false flag or direct attack against it?!?

Some bloggers have certainly been asking the question of whether the design intent of the deployment of all these NATO and US troops to Russia's borders, and even Blogger Mac Slavo has asked the question:

Is This The Coup In America? “U.S. Troops On Russian Border” To Start War Before Inauguration

I would politely suggest to Admiral Sir Philip Jones that it is highly possible that current Russian Naval activities may well be an asymmetrical response to the massive numbers of troops sent by the US and NATO to Russia's borders.

Moscow Cautiously Reacts to Trump's Idea on Lifting Anti-Russian Sanctions

Trump is trying to use Obama's sanctions as a stick to get the Russians to sign an arms deal. Wont work. The Russians consider the sanctions undeserved and an insult to Russia as a whole. The Donald ain't so smart!

Russian officials commented on the proposal of US President-elect Donald Trump to lift sanctions against Russia in exchange for a bilateral agreement on the reduction of the nuclear arsenal, saying that Moscow is currently not considering the possibility of reducing its nuclear arsenal in exchange for a sanctions deal.

In interview with newspapers Das Bild and The Times, Trump suggested that the sanctions against Russia could be lifted if both countries sign a nuclear disarmament agreement. However, the proposal caused a cautious reaction in Moscow.

The War On Terror And The Global Security State – Who Pays?

By Gail Malone

Across the Western world, countries have succumbed to pressure and incrementally introduced the paraphernalia of a security state. Albeit without the promised security and massive breaches of privacy and other hard won human rights. The rise of the security state has implications across the planet from austerity measures, the militarisation of police forces and copious amounts of tax dollars funnelled into the Military Industrial Complex. This, we are told, is needed to fight the farcical ‘War on Terror’ (WoT), a euphemism for rapacious imperialism. But is the world any safer?...

Can the great war be prevented …

The sheer size of the exercise and the chosen region might already be interpreted as a clear warning to the West not to lay undue strain on the question of the “annexation of the Crimea” and not to test the patience of Russia in the Donbass area unduly. At the same time, we are informed that a coastal defence is to be constructed on the outermost eastern tip of Russia by 2018. One week before the start of the “Caucasus 2016” exercise, the Russian defence minister Shoigu confirmed the plans for the establishment of a special troop unit in the Chukotka region. The decision to do so was made in 2015 and is “part of a plan for the establishment of a unified system of coastal defence from the Arctic in the north to the Premorja territory in the south”. This is intended to secure the Kuriles and the Bering Sea as well as cover the routes of the fleets in the Pacific, and thus also to increase the combat power of Russia’s nuclear-strategic naval forces.

The United States has declared new sanctions against the Syrian military, 18 government officials and a tech company, just days before having to give up its rule to Republican President-elect Donald Trump.

Poll: Americans Come Out of Election More Scared of Russia

A new Reuters/IPSOS poll shows a growing number of Americans seeing US-Russia relations as “back to the old days of the Cold War,” with far more Americans seeing the Russian Federation as a bigger threat after the 2016 election campaign.

It should come as no surprise, of course, as the Clinton campaign spent the better part of the election claiming Russia was “hacking the vote,” and hysteria around US-Russia hostilities seemed to grow precipitously every day through the election, and continued as a headline story well after the vote itself.

The polls show exactly what the campaign did to the American psyche, however, with a nearly 10% increase in the number of Americans identifying Russia as a “threat to the United States” between early 2015 and today. It’s worth noting that the early 2015 figures were themselves already heightened by hype surrounding the East Ukraine civil war, and claims by US officials that a Russian invasion of Eastern Europe was imminent.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Americans have far less to worry about coming from Russia than they do from the "deep state" elements of their own government.

Poland welcomes thousands of US troops in NATO show of force

Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo welcomed US troops to her country at a formal ceremony Saturday, saying it was a "great day" that would help ensure Poland's security.

Some 4,000 US soldiers have been deployed as part of troop rotations to Europe that the Pentagon has said are intended to bolster ties with NATO allies and send a clear message to Russia.
Russia has criticized the continuous deployments as a threat to Russian security.
"It's a great day today when we can welcome, here in Zagan, American soldiers who represent the best, the greatest army in the world," Szydlo said at the ceremony in the snowy western town of Zagan.

Speaking after the Polish leader, Paul Jones, the US ambassador to Poland, said the troops arriving in Poland were "America's most capable force," embodying an "iron-clad commitment" to defend NATO allies.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Take a good look at the image at the top of this article. And yes, I can see that there's snow on the ground, which isn't that unusual for Poland in the wintertime.

But look at the puny crowd of onlookers, center-left. I have to wonder if they were "forcefully invited", because they were families of Polish military members, or if it was a "rent a crowd" for hire.

The Polish government may want these troops here; the Polish military may want these troops here; but I really have to wonder about the Polish people wanting these troops here.

They have a first-hand history of wars being fought on their soil, and I strongly doubt that they want to see another war on Polish soil, courtesy of a US/NATO false flag against Russia.

China expert: Tillerson's plan for the South China Sea would 'certainly end up in a shooting war with China' Business Insider

(Kevin Lamarque/Reuters)
President-elect Donald Trump's secretary of state nominee, Rex Tillerson, made waves internationally on Thursday by suggesting that the US should "send China a clear signal that, first, the island-building stops, and second, your access to those islands also is not going to be allowed."
Suggesting China stop its building of artificial islands and militarizing them doesn't sharply break with the policy of President Barack Obama's administration, but suggesting a blockade — or forcefully stopping China from sailing to its land features in the South China Sea — does.
China's response, at first muted, has come back strong, with Chinese media saying that "unless Washington plans to wage a large-scale war in the South China Sea, any other approaches to prevent Chinese access to the islands will be foolish."

Is Trump Already Finished?

Paul Craig Roberts

It did not take long before we knew there was no hope of change from President Obama. But at least he went into his inauguration with an unprecedented number of Americans on the Mall showing their support for the President of Change. Hope was abundant.

But with Trump, we are already losing faith, if not yet with him, at least with his choice of those who comprise his government even before Trump is inaugurated.

Trump’s choice for Secretary of State not only sounds like the neoconservatives in declaring Russia to be a threat to the United States and all of Europe, but also sounds like Hillary Clinton in declaring the South China Sea to be an area of US dominance. One would think that the chaiman of Exxon was not an idiot, but I am no longer sure. In his confirmation hearing, Rex Tillerson said that China’s access to its own South China Sea is “not going to be allowed.”

Risks and Opportunities for 2017

Just a few days into 2017 and we can already say with a great degree of confidence that 2017 will be a historical year. Furthermore, I submit that 2017 will be the “Year of Trump” because one of roughly three things will happen: either Trump will fully deliver on his threats and promises, or Trump deliver on some, but far from all, his threats and promises or, finally, Trump will be neutralized by the Neocon-run Congress, media, intelligence community. Of course, there is an infinity of sub-possibilities here, but for the purpose of this discussion I will call the first option “Trump heavy”, the second one “Trump light” and the third one “Trump down”.

Political party control of the federal government has changed, but the inexorable growth in the size and scope of government has continued unabated. The liberal arguments for limited government in personal affairs and foreign military adventurism were never seriously considered as part of this revolution. Since the change of the political party in charge has not made a difference, who's really in charge? If the particular party in power makes little difference, whose policy is it that permits expanded government programs, increased spending, huge deficits, nation building and the pervasive invasion of our privacy, with fewer Fourth Amendment protections than ever before?

Why Is Obama Moving Troops Into Poland And Provoking A War With Russia Right Before The Inauguration?

January 20th cannot come soon enough. Instead of stepping back and trying to ensure a smooth transition for Donald Trump, Barack Obama has decided to go hog wild and use every ounce of presidential power still available to him. He has been establishing a bunch of new national monuments, he just stabbed Israel in the back at the United Nations, and on Thursday he even took time to give Joe Biden a Presidential Medal of Freedom. But one of the things that has people the most concerned is his endless provoking of Russia. Every few days it seems like Obama is doing something else to aggravate Russia, and if he wasn’t leaving office in about a week I am sure that the mainstream media would be full of speculation about a possible war.

US-NATO ‘Buildup on Russian Border Could Lead to Nuclear War’ – Nobel Laureate

On Thursday, US Secretary of Defense nominee James Mattis told a Senate committee in confirmation hearings that NATO must build capacity in eastern Europe to deter Russia’s alleged aggression. This came a day after Secretary of State nominee Rex Tillerson testified that the United States would defend NATO member states if Russia invaded.

“There is little or no evidence that Russia is being aggressive towards the NATO countries,” Caldicott, co-winner of the 1985 Nobel Peace Prize, told Sputnik. “That is a lie that the United States insists on maintaining.”

Caldicott pointed out, however, that it was the United States and NATO, not Russia, that was building up its armed forces to unprecedented levels in central and eastern Europe and exacerbating tensions in the region.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The Caldicott to whom this article refers, is Dr. Helen Caldicott, the founder of the organisation "Physicians for Social Responsibility",and a woman for whom I have the highest respect.

Coupled with NATO's and the US's encirclement of Russia, with troops and materials pouring on to Russia's border, I have that nasty taste in my mouth, indicating that we are getting psychologically "prepped" for a huge false flag to be blamed on Russia, and off we go to World War 3.

Oh, and if you haven't picked up on it, several American and NATO Generals gave a news conference today, and this was what they said:

The US is ready for war against Russia in Europe!!

Just thought you should know, as we are being distracted by various US agencies who are investigating the activities of other agencies regarding the investigations of the Clinton email scandal.

Just like right before we were misdirected ("Conditized") with all the focus on the terrible death of Chandra Levy, a Congressional aide to Gary Condit right before 9/11, we are now getting "Clintonized" to distract our attention from a coming war with Russia.

Folks, something wicked this way comes; please pay attention to what is going on out there.

Obama: The War Criminal Butcherer Of Women And Children

There is no doubt that US President Barak Obama is a war criminal as are his military and intelligence officials and most of the House and Senate.

Obama is the first president to keep the US at war for the entirety of his eight-year regime. During 2016 alone the US dropped 26,171 bombs on wedding parties, funerals, kid’s soccer games, hospitals, schools, people in their homes and walking their streets, and farmers tilling their fields in seven countries: Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Somalia and Pakistan.

China, Russia agree on more 'countermeasures' against U.S. anti-missile system: Xinhua

China and Russia have agreed to take further unspecified "countermeasures" in response to a U.S. plan to deploy an anti-missile system in South Korea, state news agency Xinhua reported on Friday.

The countermeasures "will be aimed at safeguarding interests of China and Russia and the strategic balance in the region", Xinhua said, citing a statement released after a China-Russia security meeting.

China and Russia held a joint anti-missile drill last May after Washington and Seoul began discussions over installing the U.S. Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system to counter any North Korean threats.

THAAD is now due to be deployed on a South Korean golf course, unsettling Moscow and Beijing, which worry that the system's powerful radar will compromise their security and do nothing to lower tensions on the Korean peninsula.

Webmaster's Commentary:

(Sigh, hair-tearing out noises): What the US government should be doing right now is working with China and Russia to get North Korea back to the negotiating table to create a peace treaty, which gives North Korea assurances on trade, in exchange for them stopping their nuclear weapons program.

But of course...THAT...would be logical.

And unfortunately, the US government hasn't had a really on-going relationship with logic for quite some time now.

US watched ISIS rise in Syria and hoped to ‘manage’ it — Kerry on leaked tape

The New York Times got a hold of the tape back in September and wrote a story about it. So did CNN. More on their accounts later.

The thrust of the conversation was the mutual frustration of Kerry and the Syrians that Bashar al-Assad was still in power and able to commit atrocities with the support of the Russians, who don’t adhere to international law the way we Americans do. I’d recommend listening to the whole tape; but the conversation went something like this:

The Syrians complained we aren’t helping enough. Kerry and his associates said we and the Saudis and Qatar and Turkey had provided huge amounts of aid to the rebels, who unfortunately were sort of aligned with extremists.

“Nusra makes it hard,” Kerry said, referring to Jabhat al-Nusra, the Al Qaeda affiliate in Syria. “Nusra and Daesh [ISIS] both make it hard, because you have this extreme element out there and unfortunately some of the opposition has kind of chosen to work with them.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

Absoflippinglutely unbelievable; the US government allowed ISIS to grow to destabilise the Syrian government, believing it would push Al-Assad to the negotiating table, and then would resign; but Al-Assad called for Russian help, which has been the major factor in getting most of the jihadists out of Syria successfully.

And no one in the White House, Pentagon, or State Department saw Russian help coming, if Al Assad asked for it?!?

THAT...was a catastrophic failure of imagination on the part of the US government, and very much demonstrates an almost pathological inability of US government analysts to think a scenario through to its logical conclusion.

Who Benefits from War with Russia?

There is absolutely no upside to any conflict with Russia when it comes to 99.9% of us. The fact so many pundits, anonymous intelligence officials and Hillary Clinton cultists are encouraging such an outcome based on zero publicly available evidence that Russia hacked the DNC/John Podesta and provided it to Wikileaks for the purpose of electing Trump, should be seen as the gigantic red flag that it is. So what’s actually going on? As is so often the case, it is all about money and power.

US Forces Massacred Afghan Civilians ‘In Self Defense’

In early November incident in the northern Kunduz Province of Afghanistan resulted in the deaths of 33 Afghan civilians, a Pentagon military investigation concluded in a new report issued today. The troops ordered airstrikes against the village of Boz, and the bombings killed large numbers of civilians within.

The report was quick to shrug off the civilian casualties, insisting that the troops “acted in self defense,” and that they are clearing the troops of any wrongdoing for calling in airstrikes against civilian homes within a village, presenting it as an appropriate response.

The investigation centered its justification on claims that Taliban forces had fired on troops, and might well have been within any given house in the village, concluding that bombing all the houses was the “minimum force required” to neutralize “various threats” they might conceivably be under.

Webmaster's Commentary:

So now, slaughter and assassination of innocent non-combatants is defined by the US military as "self defense"?!?!?

This very much reminds me of the response of the Papal legate, during the Catholic Church's genocide against the French Cathars.

When apprised that there were women and children with the men at Mont Segeur, he responded: "Kill them all: God will find his own."

Rex Tillerson Wants to Provide Saudi Arabia With More Help to Bomb Yemen

FOR 21 MONTHS, a coalition of nations led by Saudi Arabia has been relentlessly bombing Yemen, using U.S.- and U.K.-produced weapons and intelligence in a war that has devastated Yemen and killed well over 10,000 civilians.

There is abundant evidence that the high civilian death toll in Yemen is the result of deliberate — not accidental — strikes by Saudi Arabia. During its air campaign, Saudi Arabia has bombed endless civilian targets — including homes, farms, markets, factories, water infrastructure, hospitals, and children’s schools — and has even gone so far as to use internationally banned cluster weapons, which are designed to inflict damage over a wide area and often remain lethal years after being dropped.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Rex, Rex, Rex, REX REX!!!!!!

I am having an industrial strength, palm to forehead moment, reading this, at warp speed!

Are you happy that the US has been complicit in Saudi war crimes by selling them the bullets and bombs to make their destruction of Yemen as complete as possible, including the bombing to death and starving to death Yemen's children?!?!?

Please, for God's sake, tell me no!!

And whoever on the TTT (Trump Transition Team) who is following this blog, please share the following images with Mr. Tillerson, so he "gets it", as to what the real issue here is, which can ultimately only be resolved through political negotiation by all sides.

This is what life looks like to a Yemeni kid these days:

Images: starving Yemeni children, as a result of the Saudi naval blockade of Yemen

Images: Killed and wounded children, courtesy of Saudi bombing raids in Yemen

I would like to politely point out that the Saudi "Scorched earth" policy in Yemen has not been working.

And one of the most classic definitions of insanity is to do the same thing, in precisely the same way, yet expecting a different outcome; so it is with the US government's enabling the Saudi war against Yemen.

Dahr Jamail | James Mattis Is a War Criminal: I Experienced His Attack on Fallujah Firsthand

In November 2005 US marines in Iraq committed a massacre of 24 unarmed Iraqi civilians. The slaughtering of unarmed men, women, children and elderly people, shot multiple times at close range, was retribution for a roadside bomb attack on a convoy of marines. The war crimes were extremely well documented and the atrocity garnered international attention.

Mattis went on to dismiss all of the charges leveled against the marines who had been accused of killing the civilians and of the eight originally charged, only one still faces possible prosecution, but one can guess how that will end up.
Mattis was the head of Camp Pendleton's 1st Marine Division in Iraq and played a lead role during both of the US sieges of Fallujah in 2004.
While reporting from inside Fallujah during that siege, I personally witnessed women, children, elderly people and ambulances being targeted by US snipers under Mattis' command. Needless to say, all of these are war crimes.

Thousands of US Troops, Tanks Advance Toward Russian Border

Having arrived in Germany a few days ago, a mass of over 3,000 US ground troops backed by a large column of American tanks are advancing eastward toward the Russian border today, heading across Poland as part of a major NATO operation called Atlantic Resolve.

Unlike a lot of more specific war-games simulating explicit wars on certain fronts, Atlantic Resolve was initially launched just to spite Russia over the civil war in Eastern Ukraine, and seems to be designed more or less to simply antagonize Russia militarily.

And it’s doing it’s job, in that event, as Russian officials expressed serious concern over the matter, saying they believe the advance of a large number of US troops heading toward Russia is a threat to national security. They also added that they don’t appreciate having a large number of troops massed on their European border by a nation that isn’t even European.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A short memo to NATO Secretary-General, Jens Stoltenberg; your efforts at attempting to "...lock President-Elect Trump into a policy of hostility toward Russia." is headed toward an epic fail.

There's only one week before Trump gets inaugurated, and after that point, he and his team will, hopefully, make the right decisions for the future of this country vis a vis Russia, and I can tell you, with very little fear of contradiction, that their Russian policy will NOT be war-centric, as is NATO's.

ISRAELI JETS BOMB DAMASCUS MILITARY AIRPORT; SYRIA VOWS IT WILL RESPOND TO "FLAGRANT ATTACK"

Just as the Syrian proxy war showed some hopeful signs of finally dying down, the Syrian army command said on Friday that Israeli jets have bombed the Mezzeh military airport west of Damascus, accusing Tel Aviv of supporting terrorism, and warned Tel Aviv of repercussions of what it called a "flagrant" attack. Syrian state TV quoted the army as saying several rockets were fired from an area near Lake Tiberias in northern Israel just after midnight which landed in the compound of the airport, a major facility for elite Republican Guards and special forces. The airport was rocked by multiple explosions, some of which were captured by social media.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to Russia's President Vladimir Putin; the Israeli government is doing its damnedest to get you to respond militarily here, as the "excuse" for all that manpower and weaponry with which the US and NATO have stockpiled on your borders to be allowed to be unleashed, and describe it as their response to "Russian aggression."

Please don't take the bait, President Putin; it is only, thankfully, one week before the inauguration of Donald Trump.

And when that happens, I strongly suspect that the relationship between our two countries will become infinitely more pragmatic, and business-like, which is the way sensible, mature countries treat each other.

And finally, sir: no matter how prodigious the amounts of horse manure this government and their presstitutes are attempting to rain down in their futile, and fact-free, attempts to demonise Russia, in order to get Americans whipped up into a "wargasm", trumpeting the necessity of a war against Russia for false, and stunningly stupid, claims against it, no thinking American I know wants war with Russia.

And to President Al-Assad; please be very careful and cautious about how you answer this vicious, unprovoked Israeli attack.

This attack, in the dead of night, speaks volumes about the character, and complete, and utter, absence of morality, of the current Israeli government in Tel Aviv.

Later this month hundreds of private jets are expected to descend on a small town in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland, for a few brief days.

They will be carrying the elite of the elite, who will be attending the World Economic Forum (WEF).

Held in the beautiful Alpine mountain resort of Davos-Klosters, attendance is strictly by invitation only. Basic membership in the WEF costs $50,000. A premium membership can set you back $500,000. But in recent years the WEF has enjoyed another source of income. Since 2013, the Obama administration has been sending foreign assistance dollars to the WEF through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). According to government records, the tab to taxpayers thus far is $26 million.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Obama has been sending $26 million dollars to WEF since 2013, while homeless Veterans still sleep in our streets?!?

Is This The Coup In America? “U.S. Troops On Russian Border” To Start War Before Inauguration ? By Mac Slavo

Is there a coup underway, while America is in the transition period, and before Trump swears in as the 45th president of the United States?

How real is the clash between the rogue Manhattan billionaire and the intelligence gang behind the throne? Who will win the struggle for power over foreign policy? These are serious times and require serious considerations.

The U.S. sent an entire armored brigade to the Russian border, and Vladimir Putin is preparing as if for war. Missile defense systems are raised; tall claims and serious charges have been leveled; diplomatic relations have chilled to a permafrost. Several Russian diplomats have turned up dead recently, including one murdered in front of cameras during a dramatic assassination in Turkey. Russia has bucked U.S. order in the Middle East, and carved out a potential peace deal in Syria without their consultation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This scenario is not as outlandish as you might want to believe; the pieces are in place as I type this commentary, and all it will take is either one catastrophic wrong move (or a deliberate false flag) to get things rolling before Trump even has the opportunity to take the Oath of Office.

I am watching the feed from Faux News, and McCaul is stating that "there must be consequences for what Russia is doing", when there is absolutely zero proof that Russia has done anything to either swing last year's election in Trump's direction, or blackmail Trump to do its bidding.

And what really has gotten the hair at the back of my neck up, and has gotten it break dancing (a very odd feat for the hair of someone who is right handed/left eye dominant)is the following article:

Russia puts Moscow S-400s on combat alert: Video

The two words which alarm me in that headline are: "COMBAT ALERT".

Whatever the Russian government is expecting, it must be pretty horrific for this equipment to be deployed, just outside of Moscow.

Obama’s ‘Farewell To Arms’ As War Presidency Ends

Self-declared liberal Americans consider Bush to be a warmongering disaster, yet somehow they hail Obama as some kind of progressive «peace president».

Eight straight years of warmongering come to an end as US President Barack Obama bows out with his «farewell to the nation» speech this week, as fawning American media dubbed his valediction.

In reality, Obama’s outgoing address should have been billed as a «farewell to arms» made by arguably one of the most belligerent presidents to ever have occupied the White House.

Only in exceptionally delusional America could such a pernicious paradox be presented as something honorable and sentimental.

Gen. Mattis: "Russia Is The Principal Threat To US Security"

“Our Armed Forces must remain the best led, best equipped, and most ready force in the world,” Mattis told the Senate. “We must also embrace our international alliances and security partnerships. History is clear: nations with strong allies thrive and those without them wither.”

“My watchwords will be solvency and security in providing for the protection of our people and the survival of our freedoms,” Mattis said. “America has two fundamental powers. One is intimidation,” Mattis told Senator Gary Peters (D-Michigan). “The other power, which we’ve used less in the last 20 years, is the power of inspiration.” The US should not be turning to military power as the answer to all of its concerns around the world, the retired Marine general added.

Here are some of the key highlights so far:

Russia Is "Principal Threat" To US Security

Webmaster's Commentary:

US troops enter Poland, 1st deployment at Russia's doorstep

American soldiers rolled into Poland on Thursday, fulfilling a dream some Poles have had since the fall of communism in 1989 to have U.S. troops on their soil as a deterrent against Russia.

Some people waved and held up American flags as U.S. troops in tanks and other vehicles crossed into southwestern Poland from Germany and headed toward the town of Zagan, where they will be based. Poland's prime minister and defense minister will welcome them in an official ceremony Saturday.

"This is the fulfillment of a dream," said Michal Baranowski, director of the German Marshall Fund think tank in Warsaw. "And this is not just a symbolic presence but one with a real capability."

U.S. and other Western nations have carried out exercises on NATO's eastern flank in past years, but the new deployment — which includes some 3,500 U.S. troops — marks the first-ever continuous deployment to the region by a NATO ally.

Obama’s Farewell Address. Nuclear Proliferation, Killing Bin Laden, Reversing the “Great Recession” …

During the speech he listed a series of accomplishments that represent, in his view, the high marks of his presidency: As he put it, he ‘reversed the Great Recession, rebooted the auto industry, generated the longest job creation period in Us economic history, got 20 million people health insurance coverage, halved US dependency on foreign oil, negotiated the Iran nuclear proliferation deal, killed Osama Bin Laden, prevented foreign terrorist attacks on the US homeland, ended torture, passed laws to protect citizens from surveillance, and worked to close GITMO.’ Sounds good, unless one considers the facts behind the ‘hurrah for me’ claims.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This farewell speech demonstrates, yet again, the huge, astonishing chasm between Obama's perception of reality, and reality itself.

What about the 95 million Americans not participating in the labor force? What does he have to say to console them?!?

95 million Americans not participating in the US labor force

And to his assertion that his Seal Team "took out Bin Laden in Abbotabad" under his watch; Bin Laden died in 2001.

And not a word about the wars he has caused to happen, or expand upon, in such countries such as Yemen; Libya; Somalia; Afghanistan; and Iraq.

Report: “Distinct Possibility Obama Will Initiate Measures To Place Us Into A War With Russia”

The U.S. intelligence agencies, spearheaded by James Clapper have been preparing to release declassified reports that allegedly prove Russian culpability in influencing the U.S. presidential election. This has been going on back and forth since before the election; however, it is starting to take on a new complexion. Obama has quietly been deploying more troops and shifting around assets. There is a distinct possibility that before he departs, Obama will initiate measures to place us into a war with Russia, and at the bare minimum attempt to sour relations even further prior to Trump taking office.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) had been aware of, but did nothing about, the mental problems afflicting Esteban Santiago Ruiz before he attacked Florida’s Ft. Lauderdale international airport.

Ruiz is a veteran of both the Alaska and Puerto Rico National Guard and had sought treatment for mental illness at the VA, according to the shooter’s former girlfriend.

“We had let Veterans [Affairs] know that he was having some mental problems, that he wasn’t feeling all right, and they did nothing,” Esteban’s former girlfriend Michelle Quiñones told ABC News. “They didn’t do anything.”

ISIS, AL-QAEDA AND THE U.S. AIRFORCE WAGE WAR ON SYRIA'S PUBLIC UTILITIES

There are doubts that the U.S. was only watching from afar. The beginning and growth of ISIS was financed by U.S. Gulf "allies" which are subordinated to U.S. wishes. When the Obama administration had to start bombing ISIS after it killed a U.S. journalist the few bombs its airforce dropped were hitting an "ISIS fighting position" or an "ISIS excavator". That wasn't a serious campaign. Meanwhile thousands of Turkish tanker trucks were waiting in the deserts to load oil from ISIS controlled wells to sell it to Turkey. Only after the Russian President Putin showed satellite pictures of those huge truck columns to his colleagues at a G20 meeting did the U.S. start to attack this major source of ISIS finances.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As reported by zerohedge.com in January of last year:

ISIS: The 'Enemy' The US Created, Armed, & Funded

And as for the Takfiri forces; as reported at iranreview.org in 2014:

Throughout the crisis in Syria, the terrorist Takfiri groups enjoyed full political support of the United States as well as direct military, financial and logistical support from countries that are considered as US allies in the region. In addition, the Zionist regime of Israel provided Takfiri forces with direct training, consultation, and medical services, in such areas as the occupied Golan Heights, Quneitra, Utaiba, and other regions along its border with Syria and even inside Israel.

This is not just a US-sponsored fight to regime change Damascus; it is a fight against the Syrian people themselves, and their ability to control their own destiny.

The government of this country I care deeply about, my United States of America, has mutated into a war-crimes centric monster; and the hideous irony here is that it has accelerated rapidly on this path under the leadership of our Nobel Peace Prize-winning President, President Barak Obama.

And as long as I have breath, as a Christian pacifist activist, I have the moral obligation to bear peaceful, logical witness to the great evils my government continues to perpetrate, with utter impunity, and zero regard for the lives of the people against whom these war crimes have been committed.

Israeli cable admits that, like the US, they had no evidence of Iraq WMDs

Israel, generally considered to be one of the US’ closest military allies in the ‘war against terror’, therefore secretly maintained an intelligence-rooted position that directly contradicted the stated assertions of the War in Iraq – that Hussein harbored members of Al-Qaedi and was in possession of WMDs.

Two Dozen Apache Choppers En Route To Seoul Over Growing Threats from Pyongyang

A US battalion of two dozen AH-64D Apache heavy attack choppers and 360 US troops will replace a division of 30 observation and light arms helicopters currently in service at Camp Humphreys in South Korea.

"The rotational deployment of Apache helicopters is a demonstration of strong US will in implementing its security commitments," US Army Col. Rob Manning said recently. The move is expected to "significantly strengthen" military capabilities aimed at deterring North Korea’s leaders from maliciously launching an intercontinental ballistic missile, the colonel added.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to the White House State Department, and the Pentagon: please, folks; collectively, cool your jets; any direct attack against North Korea will, almost absolutely, insure a shooting war with China.

And looking at Chinese weaponry vs/ US weaponry right now, this is a place the US government and military should not go.

What is desperately needed here, is to reach out to China to get them to get their recalcitrant client state, North Korea, to come back to the negotiating table, and express a concrete willingness to forego their nuclear weapons program for trade and safety guarantees.

This peace agreement, replacing the armistice which has been in existence for over 60 years, would be laying the groundwork for a more peaceful Asia, and this is absolutely not a bad thing.

I mean, folks; we've been trading with Vietnam for 23 years, for Pete's sake!!

War with Russia and China? Here Are Two New Indicators

After 15 years of fighting in mostly irregular wars, leaders at the Pentagon and their concept of reality has been quickly hurtling back to earth. For years, there was a Pentagon battle over force structure and becoming lighter, faster, and more lethal to respond to small, global contingencies, or maintaining the ability to fight large scale conventional wars. Some leaders didn’t see the need for maintaining conventional readiness because up until about four years ago, few people were ringing alarms about conventional threats. But now that a conventional war in Europe looks like a growing possibility, the Army is renewing focus on military readiness and increasing conventional warfighting capabilities, while playing catch up to electronic and cyber warfare; both of which will undoubtedly play a role in the next war.

End All the Craziness Over North Korea

North Korea has ‘entered the final stage of preparation for the test launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile(ICBM)’. So crowed North Korea’s young leader, Kim Jong-un, in his New Year’s Day message aimed at tough-talking US president-elect, Donald Trump.

But there no need to squander trillions on new anti-missile defenses based in Alaska and California that may not work as advertised. North Korea’s missiles are designed to deter a US attack.

The alleged dire threat from North Korea can be better and more swiftly resolved by intelligent diplomacy and some calm thinking.

North Korea is a small, backwards, dirt poor nation of 25 million that has been under a fierce US-imposed sanctions regime for over half a century. Call it a North Asian Cuba. Without modest economic and military help from China, North Korea would likely have collapsed long ago. It remains under constant siege by the US and allies.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to President-Elect Trump; in order to get negotiations going, the US government will have to enlist the assistance of China (remember; that same China Obama dissed while a guest of the Chinese at the G-20 last year G20: Obama warns Beijing against South China Sea aggression)

That may well take some time and a lot of finesse, but a working relationship with China regarding North Korea will be critical to get this going.

What we need here are trade guarantees, coupled with a firm quid pro quo that to get this peace treaty to replace the existing armistice, North Korea must end its nuclear weapons program, period, end of discussion.

It can be done, with enough will and hard-won, intelligent, moral negotiations.

The last thing in the world this country needs, President-Elect Trump, is a shooting war with China. Please have one of your military advisors talk to you about recent strides in weaponry, ships, and fighter jets the Chinese have made over the last decade, then ask yourself; can the current standoff with North Korea be overcome by any other means than war?!?

Thankfully, sir, the short answer, is yes.

Pentagon Vows More European Wargames to ‘Deter Russia’

Despite the incoming president-elect making a normalization of diplomatic ties with Russia a top priority, the Pentagon continues to move forward with bigger and more complicated wargames, vowing to continue coming up with ever more such operations to “deter Russian aggression.”

Lt. Gen. Tim Ray, the deputy commander of Eurocom, insisted that the ongoing wargames, which involve the US deploying large numbers of tanks into Germany to practice massing large numbers of tanks in a single place, was vital to “ensure the territorial integrity of our allies and maintain a Europe that is whole, free, prosperous, and at peace.”

Since regime change in Ukraine saw a Russian ally replaced with a Western-backed president, tensions have been on the rise between NATO and Russia, with US officials hyping the idea that Russia could invade Eastern Europe at any moment, and throwing large numbers of troops into the area to fight in that war.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The one question I would like to ask of Lt. Gen. Tim Ray is, why would Russia do something that stupid?!?

Because the short answer is, President Putin wouldn't!!

The anti-Russian hysteria coming out of DC is falling on deaf ears, as every accusation made by the residents of "Foggy Bottom" continues to not be borne out by incontrovertible proof, or proof of any kind whatsoever.

Russia is not going to invade Eastern Europe, and, if anything, militarily, is responding to the NATO build-up of troops around its borders.

NATO Announces Another Deployment of Ground Troops to Afghanistan

Just two days after announcing that US Marines are being sent back into Afghanistan’s Helmand Province to try to slow the losses the Afghan military is suffering at the hands of the Taliban there, NATO has now also announced that ground troops, led by Italian forces, will be heading into the Farah Province to try to shore up defenses there as well.

The new “advise and assist” mission is smaller, involving about 200 NATO troops, and officials say that their advisory role makes it comparatively unlikely they will enter direct combat. This is in stark contrast with the Marines in Helmand, who despite being officially “non-combat” are in areas where direct combat is virtually assured.

NATO tried to pass this off as a temporary measure, but as the second in a few days it reflects that NATO claims that their involvement in the ground war ended years ago simply weren’t true, and that the Afghan government is still far from self-sufficient.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If the US government and NATO had one brain cell between them which was, in the least bit, rational, they would leave Afghanistan as quickly as it was safe to do so, declare "victory" (which would be hysterical, save for all the blood and money lost) and negotiate with whatever government was left standing for rights to pipeline routes, and its mineral wealth.

But of course, such a strategy would be .....logical.

Unfortunately, apparently, logic, the US government, and NATO are only very loosely aligned, if at all.

There is utterly no military metric by which the invasion - and occupation - of Afghanistan can be measured as a "success", period, end of discussion.

The only "success story" one can point to, if in fact one is a member of the various "alphabet soup" US spook apparatchiks, is the reality that the production of opium poppies has soared under US and NATO occupation.

Opium growth in Afghanistan soars, eradication close to zero – UN

I would strongly suggest that this is not "by accident"; the money earned from this cash crop goes to fund many US agencies' "off the books" operations, where Congress has utterly no oversight.

What The Corporate Media Won’t Say Could Get You Killed.

Ask 100 feminists on any college campus who was the first woman elected to the US Congress. It was Jeannette Rankin who was elected as a Republican in Montana in 1916. Few if any will know. Now ask 100 young women who Gloria Steinem is. She founded Ms Magazine and worked as a CIA agent attending international conferences. She says the CIA of the 1950s and 60s was a liberal organization who agreed with her ideals. That was at a time when the US government was overthrowing liberal reform governments from Iran to Guatemala.

Maybe young feminists don’t know who the first US congresswoman was precisely because she opposed war. Maybe they know Ms Steinem because the ideal woman in the CIA’s vision of the world does not know that her ex-husband or her estranged son died in a war. How many women changed their minds about Vietnam only after her son or boyfriend was drafted and sent to the jungles to be a human sacrifice?

Hundreds Of US Tanks Arrive In Europe To Support NATO Anti-Russian Buildup

As we reported yesterday, Lithuania confirmed the presence of U.S. special forces inside its territory, stating the deployment’s purpose is to train local forces and act as a deterrent against Russian aggression. Supposedly, the move is in response to a "escalation" by Vladimir Putin, who has been deploying nuke-ready missiles in the Russian province of Kaliningrad located in the heart of central Europe. This move has prompted the neighboring Baltic states to become “highly concerned” about Russian military activity.

Furthermore, sometime during the spring of 2017, NATO is expected to send battalions of 800 to 1,200 troops to each of the Baltic States and Poland. Obama's "mine" Trump: Sends to Europe launchers "Vulkan" sowing mines from helicopters

BY spokesperson for the Pentagon, leaving the Obama administration has expressed its readiness to deploy the system in Europe "Volcano", which the armed forces of the United States used since 1995 to quickly set up mines through their throws from a specially equipped helicopter, as well as from vehicle wheels and tracks .

In accordance with the concept of the system, and anti-anti-personnel mines are placed in a special multi-barrel rocket launchers mounted on the aforementioned carriers: by 960 per helicopter mines and 160 mines per vehicle, and then throw on different sides during the ride.

Such a quantity of mines to be in a fairly short period of time forming large areas of mine fields, which prevent access to potential opponents a large military facilities, and large concentrations of troops and military equipment.

The emergence of 'Volcano' in Europe can hardly lead to a radical change in the balance of power on the European continent.
