Three Ways YOUR Help Is NEEDED to Prevent Stolen Votes
SEVEN-MONTH-OLD Mohammed Abu Amra has been confined to Gaza's main children's hospital for four weeks now, suffering from suspected cystic fibrosis and immune deficiency.
The hospital has run out of the drugs needed to treat the persistent high fever and the strained, painful breaths which convulse his thin ribcage at almost twice the healthy rate per minute. Fearing for his life, his doctors applied late last month for permission to transfer him to a hospital in Israel, but this week his family was still waiting to find out if the Israeli Government would allow him to leave the Gaza Strip. Can a truly human being look at the face of this infant in this picture, and not just see a sick child, desperate for help?
Is all Israeli government officials see is "collateral damage", and not a human child, desperate to be helped? - M. R. The Agriculture Department said fresh ground beef products contaminated with multi-drug resistant Salmonella may have been ground and later sold at Safeway Inc stores in five states.
USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service said the products were sold at supermarket chain Safeway Inc in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada and New Mexico between September 19 and November 5, 2007. And the USDA is just getting around to telling consumers NOW, when the first suspected lots of beef were sold "...between September 19 and November 5, 2007."?!? - M. R.
Next summer, when the money runs out, a cutoff of funds will be unimaginable. The election will be too close. So our troops are committed till the end of the president's term; after all the talk, the Democrats have ended by obeying him. This capitulation marks the climax of one of the most extraordinary displays in history of a complex phenomenon: power wielded in the face of popular rejection, and power surrendered in spite of overwhelming public support.
With the exception of Ron Paul, there is absolutely no substantive difference between Democrats and Republicans in the 08 election: they're all representing the War Party. They no longer represent those districts of various states which elected them: they are the simply acquisitions of the defense industry and related companies which buy them as one might buy a tube of toothpaste. And these living, purchased commodities know exactly where their loyalties lie, and and it is not at all with We the People. The only measure by which Ron Paul is doing poorly are the telephone polls. He is slowly growing even by this measure, but generally lags well behind the other candidates. Even while marveling at some of his successes, talking heads always remind us that he is “nowhere in the polls” and quickly turn the discussion to questions of how a candidate who obviously does not have much support could possibly be doing so well in other respects. It is time to acknowledge that the polls are flawed, and the only thing that needs explaining is how a candidate with so much popular support could be doing so poorly in them.
People who have been called for the telephone polls are reporting that Ron Paul is simply not on the list of available choices. That is why he does so poorly in these polls. - M. R.

The main reason for the collapse of the U.S. dollar is President George W. Bush's attempt to fight expensive foreign wars while cutting taxes at home. This involved deficit financing on a very large scale, and inevitably the value of the dollar began to fall - slowly at first, but with increasing speed as it became clear that the White House did not care.

This “relationship,” as it now functions de facto, is sweepingly and grossly incompatible with our country’s supposed dedication to the cause of human rights throughout the world; it poisons the sheer basic honesty of that dedication; and must more and more be seen to do so, by ourselves and by the whole community of peoples and nations. I have no illusion that our extrication from this involvement, this visibly and invisibly “entangling alliance,” will be easily or soon accomplished — or even that it is certain of accomplishment at any time. But that depends, after all, on the possibility of change in the knowledge and conscience of the whole American people, and we can’t begin to know about that until we try.

On Wednesday, Jamie Leigh Jones told a House Judiciary Committee her now-famous story about having been allegedly drugged and gang-raped two years ago by several coworkers shortly after arriving in Iraq as a contractor for KBR, an engineering and construction firm contracted with the military to provide logistical support to the troops. Jones' story has prompted widespread outrage, partly because the Justice Department and the military failed to prosecute her attackers, but also because it appears that Jones can't sue KBR for placing her in harm's way.

One almost pities them. Every time Republicans start narrowing their choice of presidential candidates, they get the head handed to them by the vulturous press or some antagonistic, oppo-research operation. So they move on to the next Great White Savior, only to witness another beheading.
And it's starting to look like when all is said and done, they'll be left, through a savage attrition process and by sheer default, with the one candidate they largely like the least: John McCain. The CIA has sent a "criminal referral" to the Justice Department to investigate whether Kiriakou did reveal classified information. However, according to CNN, these referrals rarely lead to criminal charges and it is not yet clear whether there has been any violation.
This has very little to do with Kiriakou himself, as he's already stated what he had to state.
But the intent by this CIA "criminal referral" is to put a chill on anyone else whose conscience might have been the least bit bothered by witnessing the procedure, and wanting to go public with what they saw and experienced. - M. R. McCain Online Fundraising Up 500 Percent This Week...

ARGUMENT: The Veterans Disarmament Act creates new avenues for
prohibited persons to seek restoration of their gun rights.
ANSWER: What the bill does is to lock in -- statutorily -- huge numbers of additional law-abiding Americans who will now be denied the right to own a firearm. And then it "graciously" allows these newly disarmed Americans to spend tens of thousands of dollars for a long-shot chance to regain the gun rights this very bill takes away from them. Look, this business about Ron Paul meeting with white supremacists at the Tara Thai restaurant of Arlington, Virginia on Wednesdays is an empirically testable assertion. And it had better be tested, too, because this is a White Supremacist making the allegations, and pretty much by definition a White Supremacist has a tenuous grip on reality.
Closer examination of Ron Paul's visits to the Tara Thai restaurant show that his visits fall evenly on all days of the week, not the Wednesdays claimed by Bill White.
In addition, others have confirmed that it is the Sala Thai, not the Tara Thai, where the supposed white supremacists meet on Wednesdays. Bill White's smear job crumbles, and leaves in its wake a new public awareness of the forces arrayed against Ron Paul and the depths they will sink to in order to subvert democracy. - M. R. The documentary exposes the dangers of voting machines used during America's mid term and presidential elections. Electronic voting machines count approximately 90% of America's votes in county, state and federal elections. The technology is also increasingly being used across the world, including in Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe and Latin America. Filmed over three years this exposé follows the investigations of a team of citizen activists and hackers as they take on the electronic voting industry, targeting the Diebold corporation.

This article began and will end with the same chilling thought. If past is prologue, the outlook isn't good in "police state America" under neocon rule that won't appreciably change when the White House has a new occupant in 2009. The nation is at war and laws are in place that end constitutional protections, militarize the country, repress dissent, and our government is empowered to crush freedom and defend privilege from beneficial social change it won't tolerate. It's the price of imperial arrogance we the people are paying, and that won't end until the spirit of resistance gets aroused enough to stop it in our own self-defense.
We better hope that happens in time with potentially little of it left. Ron Paul wins GOP straw poll...

Translation: this is a last-gasp attempt on the part of Israel to insure that it will be American kids getting shot at, maimed, and dying, in any potential attack on Iran before the end of the Bush administration.
If such pact is inked, you can almost bet real money on some "false flag" operation against Israel taking place, and off we go. - M. R. Politicians beware: Parody is returning. No proof airport security makes flying safer-study
No proof airport security makes flying safer-study
Airport security lines can annoy passengers, but there is no evidence that they make flying any safer, U.S. researchers reported on Thursday.
A team at the Harvard School of Public Health could not find any studies showing whether the time-consuming process of X-raying carry-on luggage prevents hijackings or attacks. The time-consuming and humiliating practices at US airports, put in place after 9/11, have never been about security.
They have only been about cowing air passengers with the limitless, and thoroughly thuggish, authority of the State. - M. R. Russia on Monday made its first shipment of nuclear fuel to the plant in the southern port of Bushehr, paving the way for the long-delayed startup of the 1,000-megawatt light-water reactor. Russian officials have said that fuel deliveries would begin about half a year before Bushehr was expected to go into service, but they remained coy about the precise launch date.
If Israel were to strike now, the graphite and the fuel rods would burn, and the uranium would become particalized in the air, creating a catastrophe for the entire region. - M. R.
US President George W Bush says he has long since lost patience with Syria's President Bashar al-Assad, and has ruled out opening a dialogue with him.
Ruling out dialogue is something that happens before some kind of military action takes place against a specific country, in Bush-speak.
Is this part of the preparation for an Israeli military assault against Syria? - M. R.
They also found no evidence to suggest that making passengers take off their shoes and confiscating small items prevented any incidents. IT'S ALL FOR SHOW! Like "Burt the Turtle" and "Duck and cover" you are not really any safer. It's just a sham to make it LOOK like the government cares about you while it goes off lying about and invading other nations. - M. R.
We can also deduce from such things as Christmas trees being sold on Tehran sidewalks and big Merry Christmas signs hanging in Tehran stores that while American aggression in Iraq may have had the tragic "blowback" effect of driving out 90% of all Christians who once lived there, Muslim tolerance towards Christians is still alive and well in Iran. And this tolerance on the part of Iran’s supposedly "mad mullahs" starts at the top with Grand Ayatollah Khamenei, and permeates all the way down – even when it comes to such things as the depiction of angels in paintings and sculptures: which is forbidden in Muslim mosques, yet allowed in Christian churches. Take a closer look at the church shown above and you’ll see.
It appears that Iranians have considerably less difficulty tolerating symbols of Christian celebration at Christmas than do certain municipalities here in the US (under pressure from a certain other religious group here.) - M. R.
Little Green Footballs still pushing the Ron Paul racist smear...
I smell fear in the air, folks. Anyone who stops and thinks for a moment will understand that at open political events, anyone at all can step up next to a candidate and get a picture taken with them. As to who the man in the hat is, my guess is it's another undercover informant pretending to be a white supremacist; there are so many of them out there these days
Meanwhile, at the White House Christmas POlitical function, which is BY INVITATION ONLY, Here is a picture of Hillary Clinton posed with $20,000 Clinton donor and known cocaine smuggler Jorge Cabreras. Let's see what LGF does with THAT! - M. R. "I came back from a trip to Israel in November convinced that Israel would attack Iran," Bruce Riedel, a former career CIA official and senior adviser to three US presidents - including George W. Bush - on Middle East and South Asian issues, told Newsweek Thursday, citing conversations he had with Mossad and Israeli defense officials.
"And that was before the National Intelligence Estimate (NIE). This makes it even more likely. Israel is not going to allow its nuclear monopoly to be threatened," the American magazine quoted Riedel as saying in an article titled, "What will Israel do?". There are just two minor problems with this scenario which Riedel blithely ignores.
First, as I type this, the Iranian reactor is being fueled. Second, Russia has stated very, very clearly that an attack on Iran will be perceived as an attack against Russia. - M. R. This morning, Santa Claus (in the person of noted constitutional lawyer Bill Goodman) drove his sleigh to the White House to deliver thousands of copies of the U.S. Constitution to President Bush.
Americans from all over the country - more than 37,000 of them - asked that a copy of the Constitution be delivered to the President in their name and cordially requested that he make time in his busy schedule to read it. Russian President Vladimir Putin secured a deal to start building a natural-gas pipeline to Central Asia, undermining a U.S.-backed plan to give the region an alternative route bypassing Russia.
Putin plays chess: one wonders if Bush can even understand the fundamentals of checkers.
And that chess-playing is brilliantly demonstrated by his wily commandeering of oil and natural gas routes which benefit Russia. - M. R. On the morning of election day 2002, repeated hang-up calls assaulted six phone lines tied to the New Hampshire Democratic Party. Three Republican operatives, including consultant Allen Raymond, eventually ended up in jail for their involvement in the phone jamming scheme. A fourth, former RNC offical James Tobin, will begin a second trial in February.
In his new book, Raymond alleges that the scandal goes "to the top of the Republican Party" because "the Bush White House had complete control of the RNC" and there was no way such a risky tactic wouldn't have been "vetted by" Tobin's "high-ups": Again Romney backpedals on statements after they're questioned...

The contract to develop Iran's Yadavaran oil and gas field, signed in Tehran on December 9, follows a 2004 memorandum of understanding and has been valued by Gholam Hossein Nozari, Iran's oil minister, at $2bn.
The only thing the US can really do here is rant.
Iran knows that the more tangible a presence countries like China and Russia have in the development of their energy infrastructure, the more likely it is that the US cannot attack. - M. R. It appears that many Americans are lemmings. Few have the privilege of not having to engage in dreary, tedious, mind-numbing work. Today, workers are doing the jobs of two or three employees (downsizing does that). They work their entire lives, get a a few weeks vacation, have five more years to pay that house off, then the Paper Mill (Maytag - Steel Plant) closes, and the house is foreclosed upon. For decades, they paid bundles of money only to have the banksters come in and clean up in the end. Then they wind up in a trailer, living in their car or tent...and then they die.
The Bush administration has made its position clear in legal filings and now gets a chance to say it to a judge in open court: Hold off on inquiring about the destruction of CIA videotapes that showed suspected terrorists being interrogated.
U.S. District Judge Henry H. Kennedy ordered the hearing Friday over the objection of the Justice Department after lawyers raised questions about the possibility that other evidence also might have been destroyed. In Merry Old England, it is now illegal to take photographs. If you do so in public, the cops will consider you an active member of al-Qaeda.
December 20, 2007FLASHBACK: Neo-Nazi rally was organized by FBI informant...
Posted in light of the Bill White smear of Ron Paul.
Reports are that Bill White, who is mentioned briefly in this story, was the original organizer of the rally, then handed it off to David Gletty. Given the apparent link from members of White's organization to Megaphone, the Israeli propaganda network, I felt it was worth reminding people that this is hardly the first time the people the government tells us we are supposed to be afraid of turn out to work for the government. - M. The gunmen, it turned out, were members of a police SWAT team that had raided the wrong address because of bad information from an informant—a mistake that some critics say happens all too frequently around the country and gets innocent people killed.
"I have six kids, and only one mistake almost took my kids' life," said Moua, 29. "We will never forget this." With police departments across this country, the concept of "protect and serve" seems to morphed into "shoot first, and ask questions later." - M. R.
To great extent, the American people have no idea of the reckless policy that is being carried out in their name. The gravity of the proposed Missile Defense system has been virtually ignored by the media and Russia's protests have been dismissed as trivial. But hostilities are steadily growing, military forces and weaponry are being put into place, and the stage is set for a major conflagration. This is every bit as serious as the Cuban Missile Crisis, only this time Russia cannot afford to stand down.
Putin will not allow the system to be deployed even if he has to remove it through force of arms. It is a direct threat to Russia's national security. We would expect no different from our own leaders. The entire incident was caught on store surveillance. In the video, 35-year-old Elizabeth Beeland is visible as she allegedly causes a commotion at the entrance to the store after being confronted about the use of a suspect credit card that was actually her's.
Best Buy screw up (again) and the customer gets tased AND jailed!!!!!!!!
How about charges against Best Buy for causing the whole ruckus in the first place by screwing up! Talk about fascism in your face! More about Best Buy HERE - M. R. Police used chemical spray and stun guns Thursday as dozens of protesters seeking to halt the demolition of 4,500 public housing units tried to force their way through an iron gate at City Hall.
HUD says the redevelopment, in the works before Katrina hit, will mark an end to the city's failed public housing experiment that lumped the poor into crime-ridden complexes and marooned them outside the life of the rest of the city. But critics say the plan will shrink the stock of cheap housing at a time when housing is scarce and drive poor blacks out of the city. They also say the buildings are, contrary to popular opinion, mostly handsome brick structures that will outlast anything HUD builds in their place. Where are the poor of New Orleans expected to go when these buildings are completely demolished?
Apparently, anywhere but New Orleans. I would have liked to have seen a structural engineering analysis of these buildings, because that would be the acid test as to whether they would be allowed to stay. - M. R. NSA Controls SSL Email Hosting Services...
PHOTOGRAPH OF COCAINE SMUGGLER JORGE CABRERA WITH HILLARY CLINTON....
What with the pathetic and desperate attempt to link Ron Paul to White Supremicists on the basis of a $100 donation, I figured it's time to dish up some real dirt, like the $20,000 the Clintons took from a known cocaine smuggler. And we have ART! There are no photos of Ron Paul with his supposed White Supremicist supporter, but there sure is a picture of Hillary Clinton posed with the cocaine smuggler, right in front of the White House Christmas Tree!

Hatfill's attorneys have asked U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton to fine the reporters $1,000 per day until they cooperate. The proposed fine would increase to $2,000 after a week and continue to increase $1,000 every week. Attorneys also asked that media corporations be prohibited from paying the fines for them.
"It's YOUR fault we framed you for the Anthrax Attacks! Honest!" - M. R.
In October 2007, the former Criminal Chief of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, Daniel Seikaly, was deposed in the civil rights action by Steve Hatfill about whether he was the source of leaks relating to Steve Hatfill in connection the use of bloodhounds in the anthrax investigation and the draining of ponds in Frederick, Maryland. Key stories appeared in Newsweek and Washington Post. Attorney Seikaly pled the Fifth Amendment against self-incrimination in connection with most substantive questions.
The FBI knows of a man who was caught entering the lab where the Anthrax used in the letters was kept, after he had been fired for a racially motivated attack on a co-worker. So, why is the FBI wasting its time with Steven Hatfill?
Grand Rabbi of Spinka sect accused of helping to solicit millions of dollars in contributions to five charitable groups by promising to secretly refund up to 95 percent of the donations so contributors could falsely claim higher tax deductions
The moral of the story here is that newspapers are fearless and even willing to shed the sacred mantle of objectivity, as long as the issue is something as trivial as basketball. Of course, the Times will always be our good grey lady, but could you imagine a supposedly spunky tabloid like the NY Daily News publishing the headline, "Hey George, Waterboard This!" next to a printed banner reading "IMPEACH BUSH."
That would be silly. Because torture actually matters. Free stickers ...Ron Paul 2008...
To even begin to understand what has happened to the Republic, we must look backward in time to the period following the Civil War. We must go back to the year 1871, which was the beginning of the decline of the Republic. When we examine what happened during that time in our history, we begin to piece together this troubling, perplexing puzzle that is "America" — only then should we answer as to whether we are indeed a "free" people or not.
So, let's roll backward into the past for a moment. It is time we learned what they didn't teach us in school. It is far more interesting than what they DID tell us. I think you'll stay awake for this lesson. Over 400 prominent scientists from more than two dozen countries recently voiced significant objections to major aspects of the so-called "consensus" on man-made global warming. These scientists, many of whom are current and former participants in the UN IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change), criticized the climate claims made by the UN IPCC and former Vice President Al Gore.

Animation has its wall, much like the sound barrier -- difficult to get past, but theoretically possible. It happens when our 3D-animated humans start to look too real. You'd think the more real a character looked, the more believable it would be, but just the opposite is true -- to a point. Before you reach the threshold of believability, you have to travel through the "Uncanny Valley."
