firefighters broadcasts from the impact area of WTC 2.
[Narrator] In the south tower Battalion Chief Orio Palmer, a marathon runner, has taken an elevator to the
41st floor, then raced up the stairwell to the 78th floor. He's joined by Fire Marshal Ronald Bucca, another
avid runner, who's climbed all the way from the ground floor. Palmer and Bucca are the first to reach an
impact zone in either tower.
9:52 a.m. Palmer surveys the damage on the 78th floor. He radios the men
of Ladder Company 15 who are on their way up.
| Battalion Chief Palmer: "Battalion Seven ... Ladder 15, we've got two isolated pockets of fire. We should
be able to knock it down with two lines. Radio that, 78th floor numerous 10-45 Code Ones." |
10-45 Code Ones means dead bodies.
Ladder 15: "Chief, what stair you in?"
Battalion Chief Palmer: "South stairway Adam, South Tower."
Ladder 15: "Floor 78?"
Battalion Chief Palmer: "Ten-four, numerous civilians, we're gonna need two
engines up here."

9:55 a.m. The outer columns and trusses from the 77th floor up to the 85th floor of the south tower are
ready to give way. ... At the impact zone, up on the 78th floor Chief Orio Palmer and Fire Marshal Ronald
Bucca stay to fight the blaze among the dead and the dying. Palmer again tries to reach Ladder Company 15.

Why did the outer columns and trusses give way? At 9:52 a.m. Battalion Chief Palmer
clearly stated there were only two isolated pockets of fire on the 78th floor, so that floor contained no
inferno. Other firefighters were on floor 77, so that
floor contained no inferno, and it is documented that there were no
infernos above floor 78.
No infernos = no truss failures.
No truss failures = the building
should have remained standing.
