HomeNewsNearly 7,000 terrorists mass near Aleppo as Moscow brokers humanitarian ceasefires

Nearly 7,000 heavy armored terrorists have taken positions southeast of the key Syrian city of Aleppo, the Russian Defense Ministry says. The build-up comes as Moscow brokers a three-hour daily truce for the embattled city.
“The most alarming situation has unfolded in the southwest outskirts of Aleppo,” Lieutenant General Sergey Rudskoy, chief of the main operations department of the Russian General Staff, told reporters on Wednesday.

Flashback: Hezbollah and Al Qaeda Fighters Edging Closer to Full Scale Confrontation

Syria's conflict is often described as a "civil war," but that is only true insofar as it has yet to spill over into another country on a large scale or draw in too many different forces. But it is the quintessential proxy war, with the Alawite (an offshoot of Shia Islam) Assad regime backed up by Shia allies Hezbollah and Iran, as well as Russia and China.

The Sunni rebels are supported by the Islamist rulers of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey, as well as the U.S., France, Britain and others.

2012 Documents Show State Department Aware Of Weapons Shipments To Terrorists In Syria, Hillary Lied In Testimony

While discussion of how Stevens was killed, how he was killed, or if anyone knew what was going to happen to Stevens is outside of the scope of this article, the question of whether or not it was known that Stevens was essentially working as a conduit between terrorists in Libya and those in Syria, as well as a facilitator of arms to those terrorists, is well worth mentioning. Indeed, it is important to note that documents obtained by Judicial Watch from the Department of Defense and Department of State reveal that the Obama administration as well as the State Department, i.e. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, were all well aware of the fact that weapons were being shipped to terrorists in Syria via Benghazi, Libya.

Aug 10 09:48

While so many rumors, accusations, and scandals surround the 2013 incident in Benghazi where a number of U.S. ambassadorial staff as well as Ambassador Chris Stevens were murdered by Islamic extremists, the question almost always arises “How much was known about Stevens’ mission of supporting terrorists in Syria and who knew it?”

Vladimir Putin to Bloomberg and US general officers: you ain’t seen nothing yet

Because Bershidsky cannot apply reason in the political universe. He is working with a perverse ideology that does not allow him to think clearly and rationally. Therefore, he is morally and intellectually blind. Bershidsky again writes,

“The U.S. appears to be allowing Assad, Putin and Iranian generals to implement their plan. If they succeed in taking Aleppo, they will face Islamic State without U.S. support. They probably would be able to defeat the terror group if they’re not forced to fight on several fronts.”[5]

What’s wrong with that? Don’t we want terrorist groups to be defeated once and for all? Didn’t the US declare “war on terror”? Why is defeating terrorist organizations keeping Bershidsky up at night? Obviously Bershidsky shows that he is working for the Powers That Be when he says, “If the U.S. allows this scenario to unfold, its credibility as an international arbiter will inevitably suffer.”[6]

What Bershidsky is implicitly saying here is that if Russia defeats terrorism in Syria, then the credibility of the United States will be at stake!

“Liar in Chief” Obama Supports the Terrorists, Wants War with Russia and China, Still Intends to Overthrow Syrian Government

If Helen Thomas were still there, she would ask the Liar-in-Chief what went wrong with Washington’s policy in Iraq. We were promised that a low-cost “cakewalk” war of three or six weeks duration would bring “freedom and democracy” to Iraq. Why is it that 13 years later Iraq is a hellhole of war and destruction?

What happened to the “freedom and democracy?” And the “Cakewalk”?

You can bet your life that no presstitute asked Obama this question.

No one asked the Liar-in-Chief why the Russians and Syrians could clear ISIL out of most of Syria in a couple of months, but Washington has been struggling for several years to clear ISIL out of Iraq. Is it possible that Washington did not want to clear ISIL out of Iraq because Washington intended to use ISIL to clear Assad out of Syria?

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to Russian and Chinese leadership; thinking Americans do not want to see their country go to war against you.

And as you are well aware, the American military doesn't have the weaponry, the troop strength, the money, or the manufacturing to insure a positive outcome to such a war.

Please understand: I love this country very much.

That being said, however, I have had, and am having, some intense moral, and practical, concerns about the really bad decision-making, demonstrated by the US government, concerning its use of military force, over the last two decades.

But if such a war comes, it most likely will happen this Fall, particularly if internal DNC and White House polling finds Hillary Clinton woefully behind in this year's Presidential elections.

As reported by the in September of 2002, relative to the campaign to "justify" the coming US government's attack against Iraq:

White House officials said today that the administration was following a meticulously planned strategy to persuade the public, the Congress and the allies of the need to confront the threat from Saddam Hussein. The rollout of the strategy this week, they said, was planned long before President Bush's vacation in Texas last month. It was not hastily concocted, they insisted, after some prominent Republicans began to raise doubts about moving against Mr. Hussein and administration officials made contradictory statements about the need for weapons inspectors in Iraq. The White House decided, they said, that even with the appearance of disarray it was still more advantageous to wait until after Labor Day to kick off their plan. ''From a marketing point of view,'' said Andrew H. Card Jr., the White House chief of staff who is coordinating the effort, ''you don't introduce new products in August.'' A centerpiece of the strategy, White House officials said, is to use Mr. Bush's speech on Sept. 11 to help move Americans toward support of action against Iraq, which could come early next year. ''Everybody felt that was a moment that Americans wanted to hear from him,'' said Karl Rove, Mr. Bush's chief political adviser. Sept. 11 will also be a time, Mr. Rove said, ''to seize the moment to make clear what lies ahead.''

It is very clear to me that when any government believes it has to "sell" its public on a particular narrative to push their war agenda, it has neither the truth, nor the high moral ground on its side.

Syria gains in Aleppo ‘turning point’ in resolving crisis: Iran MP

A senior Iranian lawmaker says the recent advances of the Syrian army and its allies in the northwestern city of Aleppo are a “turning point” in the settlement of the crisis in the Arab country.

Alaeddin Boroujerdi, the chairman of the Iranian parliament's Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy, made the remarks in a meeting with Syrian Prime Minister Imad Khamis in Damascus on Thursday.

The Iranian legislator expressed hope that the Syrian army would emerge victorious over the foreign-backed militancy soon.

Aleppo has been divided between government forces and militants since 2012, a year after the conflict broke out in the Arab country.

The Syrian forces are pushing terrorists back in militant-controlled areas of Aleppo as part of a military operation aimed at fully liberating it from the grip of the extremists.

Neocons Promote War on Syria: “Drone and Cruise Missile” Strikes to Take Out Assad

Ross and Tabler’s assessment on what Washington should do in Syria has imperial motives to destroy, destabilize and then control Syria and then target Hezbollah and eventually Iran. Israel would be the dominant power in the Middle East. One of Hillary Clinton’s e-mails from December 31st, 2012 was released earlier this year by Wikileaks proved that the then-Secretary of State under the Obama administration wanted to use military force to overthrow the Assad government from the start of the civil war and strengthen Israel’s security apparatus:

Webmaster's Commentary:

Dennis Ross has never, ever met a potential war he didn't absolutely love.

But were I ever to talk with him about this proposal for Syria, I would have to ask the unasked question here. There is a 3,000 lb gorilla in the living room, snoozing on the Boesendorfer grand piano, and THAT... is the Russian presence in Syria, coupled with its fighting the jihadists, along-side the Syrian Army.

How will Russia respond to US strikes of this nature?!? Do Ross and Taylor believe that a war with Russia would be a "good thing" for the US to do, to get al-Assad out?!?

Because that, my friends, is a real possibility, if the US government follows their suggestion.

And Israel's "monopoly" on weapons in the Middle East just went KERPLUNK, when Erdogan locked down the Incerlik US/NATO base last month, post-coup, and that base contains an estimated 50 to 90 thermonuclear weapons.

the US and NATO personnel may well be evacuated from that base soon; but Erdogan most probably will not let those weapons out of his sight.

Turkish scientists are very bright people; they will figure out a way to over-ride the fail-safe commands, and program them with their own security codes.

Dennis Ross, who served as Mr. Obama’s senior adviser from 2009 to 2011, as well as in the administrations of presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton, said that bombing Syrian bases is “the language Mr. Assad and [his ally, Russian President Vladimir] Putin understand.”

WikiLeaks: Hacked Emails Prove Hillary ARMED JIHADISTS In Syria - Including ISIS

Fresh off of throwing the Democratic National Convention into turmoil after proving that party officials had conspired to sabotage Bernie Sanders' campaign, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange announced that he has some even more damaging material in his trove of hacked emails — this time involving Hillary Clinton pushing to arm jihadists in Syria, including ISIS.

As Gateway Pundit's Jim Hoft notes, in her testimony in January 2013 during the congressional Benghazi hearings, Clinton denied under oath having any knowledge of the weapons trade program with Syrian rebels that took place a year before the Benghazi attack. Now Assange says that in the collection of hacked emails his group has procured, 17,000 are "about Libya alone," and among them is proof that Clinton "pushed" for weapons to be sent to "jihadists within Syria, including ISIS."

ALEPPO: Updates from the Battlefield

The wars rage inside and outside Syria with the incredible hyper amplification of propaganda regarding the situation in Aleppo where the Syrian Arab Army has been liberating sectors of the eastern terrorist occupied area of Aleppo city and providing safe passage along pre-ordained humanitarian corridors to the waiting relief efforts and shelters.

The scenes of jubilation from civilians released from 4 years of oppressive and violent occuption by various US backed terrorist entities have flooded pro Syria news outlets and social media, while the NATO and gulf media have of course been pumping up the volume on ever more far fetched accusations of hospital bombings and terrorization of civilians..the same civilians hugging their liberators and describing life under terrorist occupation as hell on earth.

New Chemical Weapons Claims Pose Threat of US Escalation of Syrian War

Allegations and insinuations that the Syrian regime is waging chemical warfare should be taken as a warning. In August and September, 2013, the Obama administration seized on claims of a Syrian government sarin gas attack—later proven by journalist Seymour Hersh and others to be fabricated—to bring the US to the brink of yet another full-scale war in the Middle East. Obama ultimately decided against direct US involvement after the British parliament scuttled UK entry, and amid mass popular disaffection with war and sharp divisions within the military-intelligence apparatus.

Obama’s last-minute pullback from direct US involvement has been the source of sharp recriminations in American ruling circles. Proponents of an attack, including the current Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, viewed the decision as a humiliating retreat that would embolden Russia, which maintains its only foreign naval base in Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This may well signal the prelude to a wider (and uninvited)) US military effort against Syria, which can put the US into direct military confrontation against Russia; this would be most unwise, on the part of the current Administration.

And if the White House is contemplating doing this as a "rallying cry" for Hillary Clinton's moribund Presidential campaign, complete with a potential decap strike against Al-Assad himself, I would strongly caution you to not do this.

At this point in its history, the US military does not have the weaponry, the troop strength, the manufacturing, or the money to insure a positive outcome to a conventional war against Russia.

Dangers of Military Escalation: Russian Helicopter Shot Down By US-Backed Syrian “Opposition” as Battle Rages over Aleppo

Democratic Party’s Inflammatory Anti-Putin Rhetoric Prepares Escalation of Syrian War

On Friday evening, the New York Times published a lead story under the headline, “Russian Spies Said to Hack Systems Used in Clinton’s Run,” alleging that hackers associated with the Russian government infiltrated computer systems linked with the campaign of Hillary Clinton.

This inflammatory piece was the latest in a series of articles and columns that have appeared over the past several days in the Times and other news outlines claiming that Russian President Vladimir Putin is involved in an attempt to influence the 2016 election.

Friday’s report, like those that have preceded it, contained not a single fact to support the explosive allegations made in its headline.

Webmaster's Commentary:

This demonization of Russia and Putin was perfectly predictable, as the prelude for more US military activity in Syria, which may bring the US military into direct military conflict with the Russian military, which was invited by the Syrian government.

In fact, as reported at yesterday:

Speaking to reporters today, Secretary of State John Kerry demanded that Russia and the Syrian government both halt all offensive operations inside Syria, making no moves against any rebel factions, saying Russia had an obligation to ensure that the Assad government also stopped trying to gain territory in the civil war. Kerry presented this as a self-evident part of the ongoing efforts to resolve the war, saying continued fighting was “very, very troubling to everybody” and raised doubts as to whether or not Russia was serious about ending the war, what with its willingness to back offensives with airstrikes. The comments seem more than a little hypocritical, coming amid a massive US-backed offensive in the north Syrian city of Manbij. Though Kerry insisted in his comments that the US is obliged to keep rebels from launching offensives, there’s been no sign they’ve even attempted to do so.

Again, if internal White House and DNC polling demonstrate that Trump may well win in November in a landslide, Obama's White House is not above starting a shooting war with Russia over Syria very soon, to give Trump an horrific war as his first major crisis, even before he takes the oath of office,

Shelby Gittens traveled with a group of 200 people to the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia. She worked on Bernie Sanders’ presidential campaign for about a year and expected to work at the convention as a floor volunteer. However, personnel overseeing the convention revoked access for over 800 Sanders volunteers, including Gittens, and basically told them to go enjoy Philadelphia.

Part of why Sanders volunteers experienced this treatment may relate to the fact that the convention trained volunteers to target Sanders delegates and threaten anyone holding signs against the Trans-Pacific Partnership, natural gas fracking, or for Palestinian human rights with ejection from the Wells Fargo Arena. Volunteers were part of a deliberate strategy to make it appear there was unity at the convention, and they may have believed Sanders volunteers would not go along with the suppression of Sanders delegates.

Kerry: Russia, Syria Must Stop All ‘Offensive Operations’ Against All Rebels

Webmaster's Commentary:

So, Secretary of State Kerry has "demanded that Russia and the Syrian government both halt offensive operations inside Syria...."

Mr. Secretary, forgive me, but I am more than a little confused over this "demand".

Because the last time I checked, Bashar Al Assad was the legitimately elected President of Syria, and the titular commander of the Syrian Armed Forces.

He has invited the Russian forces to get rid of the jihadists, and the Russian forces, in concert with Syrian forces, have done a marvelous job of that.

Are you telling Al Assad that he has absolutely no right to bring down forces which are killing the Syrian people?!? Are you telling Putin that he must remove Russian troops, invited by the Syrian government, because, perhaps they have been doing too good a job at getting rid of the jihadists, including those alleged "moderate jihadists", supported and trained by the US (like the ones which shot down the Russian humanitarian mission chopper yesterday)?!?

And just pray tell WHAT President Obama is prepared to do, if neither Syria nor Russia acquiesce to your demands, 4 months before the US national election?!?

Go in with guns blazing, and attempt a de-cap strike against Al Assad, which most likely will mean war with Russia?!?

Sir, I would politely like to remind you of just how "brilliantly" the US's attempted coup in Turkey went, the middle of last month, and where we are at this moment.

Please remember the Erdogan's government believes that the US government was complicit in the abortive coup, based on Russian intercepts of coded messages from the US, and Erdogan was warned in time to prevent the coup from taking hold in Turkey.

1. The NATO/US base, with US and NATO troops inside, at Incerlik is in lockdown, surrounded by 7,000 Turkish troops.
2. The US Joint Chief of Staff, General Dunsford, is in Ankara as I type this, attempting to work out some kind of a "deal" with the Turkish government, pleading that it not to leave NATO.
3. The future fate of those personnel in Incerlik is in complete jeopardy, until Imam Gulen, the Turkish religious figure now living in Pennsylvania who Erdogan believes was also involved in the coup, gets extradited by the US government to Ankara. The US government absolutely does not want to do that, because Gulen is a CIA asset.
4. Then, let us talk about the estimated 50 to 90 thermonuclear bombs stored at Incerlik.
5. If Gulen is not extradited, and Turkey repudiates NATO, and decides to pivot to Moscow, Erdogan may just have the NATO and US personnel "escorted" to another NATO safe haven (like the facility on Crete), and keep the bombs.
5. Thus, the US and NATO will have created a second nuclear-capable country in the Middle East other than Israel.

Sir, forgive me, but since this aborted coup was such an utter and total catastrophe and fluster cluck, I am deeply concerned about what the US government's response will be to neither Syria nor Russia complying with the US government's demands, and what the outcome will be here.

But I have to speculate; if internal DNC and White House polls indicate that Trump will "hand Hillary her hat" in the November elections, is the plan to "gift" him with an horrendous war, long before he takes the oath of office in January?!?

Cornered and panicked politicians are like wounded animals, which means they are very dangerous; I frankly wouldn't put something like this past the Obama Administration.

CIA Chief: May Be Impossible for Syria to Remain One Country

In comments at the Aspen Security Forum, CIA Director John Brennan warned that after five years of bloody civil war, he is no longer confident that it’s even possible for Syria to remain as a whole country, saying it may not be possible to avoid a partition.

This is not the first time US officials have mentioned partition as a possibility for Syria, and indeed Secretary of State John Kerry presented it back in February as “Plan B” if that ceasefire failed. The ceasefire is gone, but Brennan is the first official to bring it up since.

Indeed, US officials have long resisted the notion of even couching partition as a possibility, insisting they want Syria to remain united, and with a powerful central government, albeit a different, more pro-US ruling faction.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Memo to CIA Chief Brennan: forgive me, sir, but have you had a conversation with Syrian Bashar Al Assad, the duly elected President of Syria, about this?!?

Breaking Syria into bits may be something both the Kurds and Israelis would like to see happen; but it appears that you are no closer to achieving regime change in Damascus than when you started this illegal, immoral, and covert operation in Syria, completely ignoring that you were violating Syria's sovereignty, and causing untold deaths, injuries, and massive population displacements.

US-Backed Syrian Rebels Shoot Down Russian Helicopter, Abuse Crew Bodies

No group has claimed responsibility for downing a Russian Mi-8 helicopter on a humanitarian mission to aid the embattled Syrian city of Aleppo, but the crash site is controlled by a rebel alliance, comprising al-Nusra Front, Ahrar al-Sham and several other radical groups. Interestingly, the US views some of them as moderate.

Several gruesome videos that Sputnik will not publish for ethical reasons have appeared online following the attack that claimed the lives of three crew members and two officers. Their authenticity has not been verified.

Footage shows a crowd looking at the burning wreckage of what appears to be a Russian helicopter with several bodies nearby. Some bystanders can be heard shouting Allahu Akbar, or God is great in Arabic. One of the videos shows a rebel standing on a naked body, while another one depicts a mob dragging the body of what is said to be a Russian pilot through the dirt.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF, in fact the US government has any control whatsoever, of the group which did this, then it appears that the US government is perfectly fine with Russian humanitarian flights getting hit, and their crews dying because of it.

If the mental images of what this report conjures up don't absolutely sear your conscience and disgust you, in terms of what this government does with our money, and in our names, then we have already lost the fight to restore decency, morality, and ultimately being on the right side of history when we support groups doing the US government's bidding.

More and more, with the US government and military, I am seeing a very definite tilt toward "the end justifies the means" thinking, which has, in times past, present, and future, land this country into some very dark places.

We as a country need to be in an honest, respectful, moral dialogue about where we are going with all these wars, both declared, and undeclared, and what they are actually doing for We the People.

The way I see it, the short answer is, not much; they are ultimately about control of foreign resources, to which the US government, nor the large corporations which support our politicians, and are developing those resources, and selling them only in US dollars, have absolutely no moral right whatsoever.

Apparently, Washington has decided to crush Russia along with Iran and Syria, without waiting for the arrival of Hillary Clinton as a newly elected head of state. It looks like behind the scenes, rulers of America are afraid of the possible victory of Donald Trump during the upcoming election. Therefore, they are in a rush to achieve their primary strategic goal – to bring down Vladimir Putin and induce regime change in Russia at any cost. In a bid to achieve this goal they are relying on two strategies – the dropping of oil prices and the undermining of Russia’s and Iran’s positions in Syria. The recent scandal with the Olympics, brilliantly organized by Washington, London, Paris and Berlin, has struck a painful blow to Moscow’s reputation. A possible defeat in Syria could be even more painful, especially if it is accompanied by continuously decreasing oil prices, which would undermine Russia’s economy.

Clinton to ‘Reset’ Syria War, Focus on Ousting Assad

According to Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s foreign policy adviser, she would order a “full review” of the Syrian war as her first task upon taking office, with an eye toward a “reset” of the conflict to shift focus toward attacking the Assad government and imposing regime change.

Clinton’s aide, former Pentagon chief of staff Jeremy Bash, insisted that Assad’s was a “murderous regime” and that US foreign policy would be to escalate both the war against ISIS and this new war against Assad to get both “out of there” at the same time.

Syria has been the subject of a lot of debate in the Obama Administration, with the Pentagon seeking a focus on ISIS, the CIA wanting to shift entirely to fighting Assad, and Secretary of State John Kerry negotiating a deal with Russia to expand the war to include al-Qaeda’s Nusra Front.

Webmaster's Commentary:

A memo to the HRC Campaign and the DNC: post attempted coup, (which Erdogan believes the US government generated), Turkey is moving away from the US and NATO, and toward Russia.

They are refusing to assist the US in Syria, plus the NATO base in Incerlik is in lockdown, including 1500 US troops and 90 nuclear bombs.

The US attempts at unseating al-Assad have just evaporated, and if there is a larger air campaign against Syria, generated either by Obama or yourself, should you steal/win the election, Russia will counter it.

Militants block civilians from leaving Aleppo as Russian military open humanitarian corridors

Residents of the besieged Syrian city of Aleppo rushed for long-awaited supplies of food and essentials on Friday, as the Russian military opened three humanitarian corridors for civilians and militants who had agreed to lay down their arms.

However the governor of Aleppo province Mohammad Marwan Olabi has told the SANA news agency that militants are blocking several dozen families from leaving the eastern areas of the city.

Russia confirms 169 civilians were able to leave the opposition-held east of Syria's Aleppo city through a "humanitarian corridor".

Dozens of families were reportedly among the evacuees who passed through the passage in the Salaheddin neighbourhood that led to the government-held area.

Hillary Clinton and Her Hawks

As Hillary Clinton begins her final charge for the White House, her advisers are already recommending air strikes and other new military measures against the Assad regime in Syria.

The clear signals of Clinton’s readiness to go to war appears to be aimed at influencing the course of the war in Syria as well as U.S. policy over the remaining six months of the Obama administration. (She also may be hoping to corral the votes of Republican neoconservatives concerned about Donald Trump’s “America First” foreign policy.)

Webmaster's Commentary:

Hillary will use the White House to erase her mistakes made as Secretary of State!

Lessons In Activism: Middle School Students Advocate For Syrian Refugees

On the last day before spring break at Manhattan Country School, a progressive school in New York City, the 7th and 8th graders were busy at work with their activism campaign, “Build Bridges, Not Borders.” In one classroom, a group of students gathered near the phone, waiting for their turn to call Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office to encourage the resettlement of Syrian refugees in New York. In another room, students practiced their talking points and arguments in anticipation of their lobbying trip to Washington, DC, where they would ask congressional representatives to oppose bills that would block the refugee resettlement process and sign a resolution that would condemn hateful rhetoric against Muslims in the United States.

US Envoy: Syrian Offer of Safe Passage for Aleppo Civilians ‘Chilling’

US Ambassador to the United Nations Samantha Power condemned Syria’s leaflets, urging civilians in rebel-held East Aleppo to flee and offering them safe passage and access to temporary shelters “chilling,” insisting that the civilians must never trust a government “that’s bombed & starved them.”

Syria’s military has increased its control over the area surrounding Aleppo recently, controlling all roads leading into the east. Eastern Aleppo is controlled mostly by al-Qaeda’s Nusra Front, with the Free Syrian Army (FSA) having a presence in two of the districts.

Power’s condemnation of leaflets urging civilians to evacuate, apart from being in keeping with condemning Syria for whatever they do, doesn’t make a lot of sense, since it exactly mirrors what Iraq has done in recovering cities from ISIS, trying to get as many civilians as possible out before using US airstrikes to pound the fighters within.

Webmaster's Commentary:

If Powers states that Syrian civilians must never trust a government “that’s bombed & starved them ”, then they cannot trust the US government or the alleged "moderate" Syrian rebels!!

Motives Behind the Rebranding of Al-Nusra Front

Since the beginning of the Syrian civil war, in August 2011, to April 2013, Islamic State and al-Nusra Front were a single organization that chose the banner of “Jabhat al Nusra.” Although, the current al-Nusra Front is led by Abu Mohammad al Jolani but he was appointed as the Emir of al-Nusra Front by Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, the leader of Islamic State, in January 2012. The current Al-Nusra Front is only a splinter group of Islamic State which split away from its parent organization in April 2013 over a dispute between the leaders of two organizations.

The U.S. army recently contracted CACI for "intelligence analysis services" in Syria. The Syrian government has not invited or otherwise allowed U.S. military or its contractors to enter the country. Any such activities infringes on Syria's sovereignty and are thereby in violation of international law.

The re-engagement of such a controversial company for services in the area boosts the recruitment appeal of the Islamic State.

A recent U.S. Department of Defense Contracts Press Announcement (Release No: CR-143-16, July 27, 2016) lists under the rubric "Army":

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is painfully obvious to me that such a rehire of a company which tortures (to the tune of 9 million dollars and change of your tax dollars) is paving the way for a more permanent war in the Middle East.

People who torture, and can do it for pay, and with impunity, are among the most psychologically ill people on the planet; and those are precisely the kind of human beings CACI will send to Syria.

This is both insane and counter-intuitive, because humankind has learned, since the time of the Catholic Inquisition, that torture only gets the tortured person to say what they think the torturer want them to say, in order for the torture to stop.

Apparently, the DOD wants false information in Syria from which they can weave a "narrative" they can then "sell" to Americans as a premise for further military intervention in that country.

When the US tortures or outsources torture, It broadcasts to the world that those values its leaders say they hold dear, humane treatment of prisoners, and peoples' right to peaceful self-determination, are only observed in the breach of those values, and not in their observance.

Additionally, the use of torture gives carte blanche for any country which doesn't much care for the US carte blanche to do just that to American citizens or our military personnel.

Please think about that for awhile.

And as reported at, one of the most effective interrogators of World War II didn't use torture at all; he used trickery and kindness to get the information he wanted.

Hanns Scharff wasn’t your typical Nazi interrogator. Unlike the infamous Klaus Barbie, he didn’t believe in using physical violence. Instead, Scharff got prisoners to spill their secrets through trickery and kindness. The Whole Bushel When the Gestapo arrested French Resistance leader Jean Moulin, they used just about every method in the torturer’s handbook to make him talk. Officer Klaus Barbie and his secret policemen put hot needles under Moulin’s fingernails, tightened his handcuffs until his wrists snapped, and slammed a door on his hands until his fingers broke. Despite the brutal beatings, Moulin never cracked. He kept his mouth shut until he slipped into a coma and died. It was a tragic ending to a heroic life, and a strong indicator that Barbie’s methods, while bloody, weren’t all that effective. Perhaps if Moulin had been sent to Hanns Scharff, the story would have had a happier ending. Scharff was the friendliest interrogator of World War II. Fluent in English, Scharff grilled pilots who were shot down over Germany. Unlike the notorious Barbie, Scharff had a much more positive approach to interrogations. This Luftwaffe officer was a master of mind games. Before he quizzed a prisoner at the Dulag Luft camp, Scharff dug up as much background information on his subjects as possible. Even if he could only find basic info, he fooled prisoners into thinking he already knew all about their objectives. Since he was already aware of their activities, they might as well talk about them, right? Next, Scharff disarmed his prisoners by becoming their best bud. He often took them on trips to the local zoo, and he even let one prisoner take a ride in a German plane. After building a rapport with a POW, Scharff would take him on walks through the Oberursel forest. Together, the Nazi and the Allied pilot would stroll through the pine trees, observing the birds and chatting about America or England. The whole time, Scharff was listening for little slip-ups that would reveal information vital to the German war machine. Prisoners might inadvertently mention something about bomb sights or causally say something about operational plans. They might tell a story about their training or talk about the planes they used to fly. Scharff was such a smooth talker, such a friendly guy, that the prisoners had no idea they were being conned. They were just glad they weren’t being electrocuted. Many of them signed his guestbook before leaving the camp. In fact, after the war, he was invited to many POW reunions because he was such a gentleman. Eventually, Scharff moved to the US where he helped the Air Force come up with survival techniques for downed pilots, and taught intelligence agencies how to peacefully interrogate suspects. The Army was so impressed with Scharff’s methods that they incorporated his methods into their curriculum, and soldiers attending interrogation school learn all about his techniques.

Heavy clashes are ongoing in and near Aleppo city as pro-government forces are tightening the siege of its militant-controlled areas.

On July 27, the Fateh Halab militant group launched an advance on the Kurdish controlled neighborhood of Aleppo city, Sheikh Maqsood. The Fateh Halab advance was supported by heavy artillery fire from the militant-controlled neighborhoods of Bani Zaid and Sakan Shababi. However, jihadists were not able to break the Kurdish YPG defenses and Fateh Halab lost several fighters in the failed advance.

Then, YPG units counter-attacked the militants in Youth Housing and seized it. This move contributed to the Syrian army’s operation aimed to encircle east of Aleppo.

“Bigger Than Watergate” – Hillary Clinton And The Syrian Bloodbath

In 2012, Clinton was the obstacle, not the solution, to a ceasefire being negotiated by UN Special Envoy Kofi Annan. It was US intransigence – Clinton’s intransigence – that led to the failure of Annan’s peace efforts in the spring of 2012, a point well known among diplomats. Despite Clinton’s insinuation in the Milwaukee debate, there was (of course) no 2012 ceasefire, only escalating carnage. Clinton bears heavy responsibility for that carnage, which has by now displaced more than 10 million Syrians and left more than 250,000 dead.

In Signal to Military, Hillary Clinton Picks Senator Tim Kaine as Running Mate

In selecting Kaine, Clinton is making clear that she plans on running a right-wing, pro-war campaign targeted at winning over the military and sections of the Republican Party dissatisfied with Trump, and particularly with the Republican candidate’s attitude toward Russia. Clinton also wanted to repudiate any association with the issues of social inequality that motivated the widespread support for her main rival in the primaries, Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

Kaine is among the most hawkish figures among Senate Democrats. As governor of Virginia from 2006 to 2010, Kaine oversaw billions of dollars in cuts to the state budget. The state of Virginia is a major center for the military and defense industry, and is home to the Pentagon and the headquarters of the CIA.

Between 2009 and 2011, Kaine served as the head of the Democratic National Committee, the leadership body of the Democratic Party. He is close to Wall Street, having recently backed measures to deregulate banks.

The US and Saudi Arabia have been conspiring with one another to engineer a series of crises that could prompt Iran to pull back its troops in Syria and redeploy them back to the homeland. The modus operandi has been to encourage peripheral insurgencies inside the Islamic Republic’s borderland regions concurrent with a terrorist threat to the interior, all while stirring up Color Revolution commotion.
