Trump Presidency Is Over - Bannon Is Right

“‘The Donald’ has been White House-broken,” writes Bill Bonner in his must read daily missive on Bonner and Partners

“‘The Donald’ has been White House-broken,” was what we were trying to say, translating the phrase into something that may make sense to a French listener.

But it was too clever and complicated.

“Well, let’s just say the president has been brought into line,” we simplified.

In Defense of Lee And Jackson

Published: Thursday, August 24, 2017

Ever since the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, took place, memorials and statues of the great men of the Confederacy--along with the flags of the Confederacy--are being vandalized or taken down by municipal governments.

History revisionists flooded America's public schools with Northern propaganda about the people who attempted to secede from the United States, characterizing them as racists, extremists, radicals, hatemongers, and traitors.

Korea, Afghanistan, And The Never-Ending War Trap

While the US-backed 'Hunger Games' in South Korea plow on, a 'new strategy' for Afghanistan is really all about business. But China is already there... There are more parallels between an unfinished 1950s war in Northeast Asia and an ongoing 16-year-old war in the crossroads between Central and South Asia than meet the eye.

Trump’s Defining Moments

Aug 25 09:39

THE ILLEGALITY OF TRUMP’S AFGHANISTAN WAR

When President Trump attributed his flip-flop on Afghanistan to his team of military generals , who informed him that a withdrawal from America’s 16-year war would leave a “haven” for terrorists, I couldn’t help but think of former presidential candidate George Romney during the Vietnam War. After opposing the war, Romney traveled to Vietnam and returned with the same flip-flop mindset that Trump has experienced. Like Trump, Romney blamed it on the generals, who, he said, had “brainwashed” him into supporting the war. Romney’s brainwashing, however, wasn’t permanent, as Romney later returned to an antiwar position. So maybe there’s hope that the same thing will happen to Trump.

There is one important point, however, that we must continue to emphasize, even though it is continuously ignored by the Washington establishment: the illegality of Trump’s War (and Bush’s and Obama’s Wars before him), given that there is no congressional declaration of war.

Why Does US Military Have Records On 2013 Egyptian Military Coup?

Egyptian army chief, General Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, led a coup against Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi in 2013. The Egyptian constitution was subsequently suspended. When it happened, President Barack Obama avoided the use of the word “coup” to describe what unfolded. This was to ensure U.S. military aid continued to flow to the country. And, as The Guardian noted, “Ties between the Pentagon and the Egyptian military [were] already close.”

As First NAFTA Round Opens in Secrecy, Digital Rights Groups Fear Another TPP

he opening round of a series of negotiations over a proposed revised North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) began this week in Washington, D.C. between trade representatives from the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Already it is clear that the office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) has ignored our specific recommendations (to say nothing of USTR Robert Lighthizer’s personal promises) about making the negotiations more open and transparent. Once again, following the failed model of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), the USTR will be keeping the negotiating texts secret, and in an actual regression from the TPP will be holding no public stakeholder events alongside the first round. This may or may not set a precedent for future rounds, that will rotate between the three countries every few weeks thereafter, with a scheduled end date of mid-2018.

'Lying to Congress': Trump lashes out at former spymaster over CNN comments

US President Donald Trump has fired back at former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, bringing up his testimony before Congress, after Clapper told CNN that Trump was unfit to be president and should resign.

“James Clapper, who famously got caught lying to Congress, is now an authority on Donald Trump. Will he show you his beautiful letter to me?” the president tweeted Thursday morning. It was not immediately clear which letter he was referring to.

The “lying to Congress” part was apparently a reference to the 2013 Congressional hearing, where Senator Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) asked Clapper if the National Security Agency collected data on millions of Americans.

“No, sir ... not wittingly,” Clapper answered.

Soon thereafter, Edward Snowden’s revelations showed that the NSA did, in fact, collect data on millions of Americans.

How We Know The So-Called “Civil War” Was Not Over Slavery

Paul Craig Roberts

When I read Professor Thomas DiLorenzo’s article ( http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2017/08/21/lincoln-myth-ideological-co... ) the question that lept to mind was, “How come the South is said to have fought for slavery when the North wasn’t fighting against slavery?”

Two days before Lincoln’s inauguration as the 16th President, Congress, consisting only of the Northern states, passed overwhelmingly on March 2, 1861, the Corwin Amendment that gave constitutional protection to slavery. Lincoln endorsed the amendment in his inaugural address, saying “I have no objection to its being made express and irrevocable.”

If the South’s real concern was maintaining slavery, the South would not have turned down the constitutional protection of slavery offered them on a silver platter by Congress and the President. Clearly, for the South also the issue was not slavery.

The Treasury claims the sanctions are in line with the internationally agreed measures against North Korea’s missile and nuclear weapons programs. As a result, their US assets are frozen and Americans are forbidden from doing business with them.

War: Breitbart Is About to Go Medieval on Trump’s Administration

President Trump may yet find that the biggest threat to his presidency isn’t the Democrats, NeverTrump, or even the media.

The biggest threat may be his own ego, and those he kept around for as long as they were useful, then discarded. Trump built his campaign, then the opening months of his presidency on the backs of eager, and equally ambitious loyalists, then, one-by-one, he jettisoned them back into the real world.

Just as the GOP is living the slow-motion horror of having accepted Donald Trump as a legitimate candidate and are now forced to stand by and watch him take a sledge hammer to the party’s viability, Trump will realize he’s not immune to the chaos, either.

'UNLIMITED WAR': Breitbart and the far right start to turn on Trump over his Afghanistan decision

Vocal supporters of President Donald Trump on the far right slammed his decision to deploy additional troops to Afghanistan and ramp up engagement in the US’s longest war.

Many of the president’s longtime boosters criticised his about-face on Afghanistan, a war he repeatedly pilloried in the years leading up to the 2016 election.

Breitbart News, the site led by recently ousted White House chief strategist Steve Bannon, had a front page Monday evening full of stories lambasting Trump’s decision, referring to it as “unlimited war,” and comparing his strategy to that of President Barack Obama. The Revolution Betrayed

The exit of Steve Bannon, the President’s political strategist, from the White House and his return to Breitbart.com marks the defeat, if not quite the end, of the “isolationist” America First faction within the Trump administration. It is a victory for what I call the Junta – the coterie of generals who now surround President Trump, and appear to have captured the conduct of American foreign policy. It is a victory, in particular, for Gen. H. R. McMaster, who took over the National Security Agency after Michael Flynn’s ouster, and who is the architect of the “new” Afghanistan strategy – the one that is merely a reiteration of the old strategy.

'Leftist' Meltdowns Continue: Therapists Report Huge Spike In Patients Suffering From "President Trump Stress Disorder"

There’s only one thing that has been constant throughout the duration of Trump’s presidency, and that is the reaction of the people who oppose him.

Time after time the Left has responded to Trump’s actions and words with unfettered fear, paranoia, and highly publicized meltdowns. His mere presence in the White House seems to leave them hyperventilating, sobbing, and lashing out at anyone dares to support him, or even refuses to denounce him.

Believe it or not, the emotional vulnerability of these people hasn’t improved since he took office earlier this year. Something stinks about Charlottesville

By Russ Vaughn

Evidence is turning up from, of all places, the Southern Poverty Law Center, as well as Breitbart and others, that this character, Jason Kessler, who organized the suspicious and supposed Alt-Right demonstration in Charlottesville, Va. that blew up in everyone's face, is a cunning lefty holdover from the Occupy Wall Street movement and a former Barack Obama supporter. I smell Soros money, sabotage, and Democrat dirty tricks here.

The reporting of Kessler's background, as well as that of Charlottesville mayor and Democrat activist Mike Signer and Vice Mayor Wes Bellamy, has convinced me that Charlottesville was a Democratic Party black operation, planned, organized, and carried out to its successful conclusion, to make the media portray all these conservative whites as stupid, racist, and violent.

PAUL CRAIG ROBERTS: Because Trump held both sides accountable for C...ville violence, the Left accuses him of supporting White Supremacists

What the liberal/progressive/left is trying to do with Charlottesville is to associate Trump supporters with White Supremacists and in this way demonize Trump supporters so that they will not have a voice when Trump is overthrown in a coup. Or it can be put in a different way: Charlottesville is being used by someone to discredit Trump and the people who elected him in order to pave the way for a coup, and the liberal/progressive/left is enabling the plot.

Upon reflection, I think that for most of the liberal/progressive/left the denunciations and one-sided interpretation of Charlottesville are just the ingrained knee-jerk reaction of people brought up in Identity Politics. In Identity Politics, everyone is a White Hat except racist, sexist, homophobic, gun-nut white males. The only tolerable white males are those who accept this characterization of themselves. All others are “white supremacists” or “nazis.”

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump told reporters at Trump Tower that Bannon was a "good man” and “not a racist.”

Secret Service investigating Mo. state senator over Facebook post hoping for Trump's assassination

The U.S. Secret Service is investigating a Facebook post from Missouri state Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal, D-University City, in which she stated: "I hope Trump is assassinated!"

As outrage over the comment spread Thursday, a top leader in Chappelle-Nadal's own party declared that Chappelle-Nadal "should be ashamed of herself."

Chappelle-Nadal's comment, referring to President Donald Trump, has since been removed. But Chappelle-Nadal confirmed to the Post-Dispatch that she had written it in response to another commenter before deleting it.

The West Supplied Chemical Weapons to Syrian Rebels, Says Russian Foreign Ministry

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday there is evidence that the West is supplying chemical weapons to militants in Syria.

“Yes, it’s true,” she told the state-funded Vesti FM radio station on Thursday morning. "Western countries and regional powers are directly and indirectly supplying militants, terrorists and extremists in Syria with banned toxic substances.”

The comment came after Syria’s Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mekdad said on Wednesday that chemical weapons supposedly produced by the United States and Britain had been found in areas previously held by Islamic State.*

Black Christian Leaders Defend Trump After Charlottesville Riots

A group of black Christian and intellectual leaders at a press conference for the Center of Urban Renewal and Education (CURE), defended President Trump from accusations that he is responsible for racial division in our country.

The event was supposed to focus on the Trump Administration’s policy efforts involving inner cities, but quickly delved into the deadly protests in Charlottesville.

Though the media wasted no time in drawing a link between racial strife in America and Trump, branding him a white nationalist-supporting racist, these black community leaders have a different take.

White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon May Leave the Job by Friday

It’s been a long time coming, but it looks like White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon may be on his way out of the Trump Administration.

Multiple outlets are reporting that President Trump is unhappy with Bannon. Numerous advisers, including Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch, are pressuring Trump to jettison Bannon.

The tragedy of Charlottesville has put more pressure on Trump to drop his controversial strategist, as many see him as a secret ally of white supremacists. Indeed, it’s not looking good for the former chairman of Breitbart News.

The Zionist-white supremacist alliance in Trump’s White House

A much-discussed article in The New York Times about pressure on President Donald Trump to fire his advisor Steve Bannon contains this intriguing sentence:

Mr. Bannon’s ability to hang on as Mr. Trump’s in-house populist is in part because of his connections to a handful of ultrarich political patrons, including Sheldon G. Adelson, the pro-Israel casino magnate who is based in Las Vegas.

As executive chairman of Breitbart News before joining the Trump campaign, Bannon transformed the right-wing outlet into what he described as the “the platform for the alt-right” – the collection of neo-Nazis, white supremacists and racists who have been the renewed focus of outrage since their violent rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, on Saturday.

There is something unsettling about how President Trump has surrounded himself with generals. He’s surrounded by generals and threatens war at the drop of a hat.

President Trump began last week by threatening “fire and fury” on North Korea. He continued through the week claiming, falsely, that Iran is violating the terms of the nuclear deal. He finally ended the week by threatening a US military attack on Venezuela.

No one was arrested Monday, however, a day later, Durham County Sheriff Mike Andrews announced investigators were working to identify the protesters and planned to bring criminal charges against them.

The Plan first appeared in John A. Williams’ 1967 novel, The Man Who Cried I Am, a fictionalized account of the life and death of Richard Wright.

Another View: An Objective Account of the #UniteTheRight Event

Wow, the Unite The Right event in Charlottesville, Virginia today was a total shit show, thanks largely (in my opinion) to the decisions made by local and state political and law enforcement authorities.

Unfortunately – and unsurprisingly – the actual event was in fact shut down prior to it even getting started, as local and state officials declared a state of emergency and canceled the event. The organizers and participants of the Unite the Right rally were ordered to disperse, and the event was shut down. Of course, chaos erupted, fights broke out, and the radical, anti-White scum were emboldened.

FAKE RALLY & FAKE CAR ATTACK IN VIRGINIA

Something smells extremely Gefilte-fishy about the "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville, Virginia and the alleged bizarre car-killing which took place there. Not only do the video of the incident (here) and the images of the aftermath present all the usual earmarks of a crisis-actor stunt, but the prominent presence at the previous night's "torch rally" of one "Richard Spencer" of the "National Policy Institute" also gives us cause for great suspicion.

From the article:
Spencer, an effeminate-sounding atheist, does not tolerate "anti-gay" views at his events, and his pedigree seems more establishmentarian that rebel -- having graduated from St. Mark's elite prep school in Dallas, Texas before moving on to Duke University. "Dear President Trump: What The F**k Business Is Venezuela Of Ours?"

Ten Questions for Trump

Are you willing to “own” the problems in Venezuela?
What does “necessary” mean?
Did US nation building in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan work?
Did not Vietnam turn out OK starting the moment we left?
Did the US intervene to stop hyperinflation in Zimbabwe? Argentina?
Are there not more repressive regimes in Africa?
What’s different about Venezuela?
By any chance is this about oil?
Other than oil, what the F business is Venezuela of ours?
Regardless of your threats and concerns, when has US nation building ever worked?

I thank you in advance for your answers.

Bonus Question

Dear Mr. President, I almost forgot: How do you propose we pay for a military solution in Venezuela?

Unless you can provide answers, I strongly suggest we do not need another quagmire, we cannot afford another quagmire, and we should stay the F* out of it.

I voted for you and would appreciate some answers.

US expert links North Korea's nuclear stockpile with light water reactors

North Korea can significantly increase its nuclear stockpile if a light water reactor under construction at its Yongbyon nuclear complex goes into operation, a U.S. nuclear scientist warned, urging Washington to restart negotiations with Pyongyang.

North Korea has so far used a 5-megawatt reactor at Yongbyon to make plutonium for nuclear weapons, roughly at a speed of one bomb worth of plutonium a year. But since a few years ago, the North has been building a larger-scale light water nuclear reactor that experts say could give Pyongyang enough plutonium to make about five or six weapons a year.

Donald Rumsfeld, the US defence secretary, sat on the board of a company which three years ago sold two light water nuclear reactors to North Korea - a country he now regards as part of the "axis of evil" and which has been targeted for regime change by Washington because of its efforts to build nuclear weapons.

Mr Rumsfeld was a non-executive director of ABB, a European engineering giant based in Zurich, when it won a $200m (£125m) contract to provide the design and key components for the reactors. The current defence secretary sat on the board from 1990 to 2001, earning $190,000 a year. He left to join the Bush administration.

The reactor deal was part of President Bill Clinton's policy of persuading the North Korean regime to positively engage with the west.

Never Forget: The Nukes N. Korea is Threatening to Use on America CAME FROM AMERICA

In fact, the only thing that makes North Korea a threat is their nuclear capability — made possible by the Clinton and Bush administrations.

These two administrations played key roles in helping the late Kim Jong-Il develop North Korea’s nuclear prowess from the mid 1990’s onwards.
Former US Secretary of Defense, Donald Rumsfeld was on the board of technology giant ABB when it won a deal to supply North Korea with two nuclear power plants.

According to the 2003 report from SWI, the Swiss-based ABB told swissinfo that Rumsfeld was involved with the company in early 2000, when it netted a $200 million (SFr270million) contract with Pyongyang.

The ABB contract was to deliver equipment and services for two nuclear power stations at Kumho, on North Korea’s east coast.

However, Rumsfeld was simply taking the baton from the Clinton administration, who, in 1994, agreed to begin replacing North Korea’s domestically built nuclear reactors with light water reactors.
