Pentagon "Panicking" After Successful Russian Hypersonic Missile Test According To Die Welt

Although the glider, able to carry megaton-class nuclear weapon, was presented along with SARMAT missile system tests, super-fast drone torpedoes, cruise missiles with nuclear power plants, the air missile system "Kinzhal" as well as laser and hyper-sonic weapons as one of the newest additions to the Russian arms complex in March, the newspaper claims it to be proof of sabre-rattling by the great powers in the wake of US President Donald Trump announcing his country's withdrawal from the 1987 INF Treaty in October.

What makes Avangard unique is its manoeuverability as the vehicle constantly changes its course and altitude while it flies through the atmosphere, zigzagging on its path to its target, making it impossible to predict the weapon's location, as former Russian Defence Minister Sergei Ivanov revealed. This characteristic ensures that the target this hypersonic missile is actually heading to remains virtually secret, according to the US think tank Rand Corporation.

China Selling Hypersonic Anti-Ship Missiles; Travels 6X Speed Of Sound For "Rapid, Precision Strikes"

China has brought to market a hypersonic anti-ship ballistic missile, said to be the first of its kind on the international market for buyers seeking a "reliable and affordable deterrence against threats from the sea," according to China.org.

"The system is intended for rapid and precision strikes against medium-size ships, naval task forces, and offshore facilities," said a representative from China Aerospace Science and Industry Corp (CASIC) in November.

According to CASIC, the CM-401 is fitted with a terminal radar guidance unit featuring a nose-mounted gimballed antenna. Once launched, the missile flies along a ballistic trajectory, reaching a near-space altitude. The weapon is stated to have an average speed of Mach 4 and a peak of Mach 6, although it is not clear at what altitudes these speeds are reached. -Janes.com

The missile flies between 20 and 100 kilometers above earth (12 - 62 miles) and maneuvers at hypersonic speeds.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem is not that the Chinese have developed this technology and is selling it; the problem is that the US weapons manufacturers have not come up with anything close to this.

Germany To Trump: Don't Even Think About Stationing Nuclear Missiles In Europe After INF Withdrawal

Washington's decision to drop out of the INF has fueled speculation about the return of a full-blown, Cold-War style nuclear arms race, as Russia has reflexively threatened to build up its tactical defenses along Europe's periphery in the face of what's expected to be a buildup of American intermediate-range arms.

But whatever happens between the two nuclear superpowers, Germany wants no part of it.

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas warned this week that the US better not be thinking about stationing its intermediate-range missiles in Germany - or anywhere in Europe, for that matter. For the last 30 years, the treaty has prohibited stationing intermediate-range arms in Europe. Any push to change that would almost certainly be met with "widespread resistance" in Germany, Maas said, so as to avoid a scenario where Europe is put in the middle of a tug-of-war between Russia and the US.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I have to admire this guy for really having the "male attributes" to say "NO!" to any positioning of the new medium-range missiles in Germany.

Obama, ISIS and the Muslim Brotherhood. The PSD-11 “Secret Blueprint” to Implement Regime Change across the Middle East

In August, 2010, six months before Tunisia’s Jasmine Revolution was launched by the Washington NGOs including the NED, the Soros Foundations, Freedom House and others, President Obama signed Presidential Study Directive-11 (PDS-11), ordering Washington government agencies to prepare for “change.” The change was to be a radical policy calling for Washington’s backing for the secret fundamentalist Islamic Muslim Brotherhood sect across the Middle East Muslim world, and with it, the unleashing of a reign of terror that would change the entire world.

According to US Congressional testimony of Peter Hoekstra, former Chairman of the US House of Representatives Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, the Obama Administration PSD-11 directive–as of March 2017 still classified Top Secret–“ordered a government-wide reassessment of prospects for political reform in the Middle East and of the Muslim Brotherhood’s role in the process. “

A Grandiose Task Force

Trump’s Incoming Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan Pushed Military to Buy Weapons It Didn't Want

By tapping former Boeing executive Patrick Shanahan to temporarily replace famed former Marine Gen. James Mattis as secretary of defense, President Trump may have found a like-minded advocate for the U.S. weapons industry.

Shanahan is a controversial choice. During Shanahan's two-year stint as Mattis's deputy defense secretary, Boeing has landed a series of lucrative military contracts worth $20 billion, on top of the Chicago company's previous deal to build aerial-refueling tankers and naval fighters for the Pentagon.

Mattis' resignation on Thursday came one day after Trump announced, via Twitter, that the terror group known as Islamic State is no longer a threat and the United States will withdraw all 2,000 of its troops from Syria.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Color me unsurprised by President Trump's pick here.

‘We are coming’: Chilling Blackwater ad triggers fears of Trump seeking to privatize Mideast wars

Blackwater, the controversial US private security firm, has flagged its intent to resume business, taking out a full-page commercial in the latest edition of Recoil magazine with a chilling message declaring “We are coming.”
The resurrection within the military contractors’ market of notorious Blackwater, which, after numerous scandals and several rebrandings, is now known as Academi, has analysts looking deeper into US intent to withdraw from the wars in the Middle East. The advertisement in Recoil, made public after Defense Secretary Jim Mattis announced his resignation, prompted concerns that president Donald Trump might be seeking to privatize ongoing American engagements in Afghanistan and Syria, following the declared troops' withdrawal from the region.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, a word, please.

Privatizing as many wars as we are fighting right now, would be an horrific decision.

Even privatizing one of them may well result in creating a failed nation-state, as the US and NATO did with Libya.

We know that many of these wars were handed over from your predecessor, President Obama, who told adoring campaign crowds that he would bring our troops home, when he knew, at some level, that this statement was a bold-faced lie.

So the question you should be asking yourself right now is, how to honorably extricate the US government from the commitment to these wars, like Afghanistan, and Yemen, which you inherited from President Obama?!?

As I have said many times, regarding Afghanistan, it would make every bit of sense for the US/NATO troops to be evacuated as quickly as is safely possible, then negotiate with whatever government is left standing in Kabul for the oil pipeline rights; the rare earth minerals rights; and the opium poppy rights. It is common knowledge that a number of US "alphabet soup agencies" are making a killing, literally, and figuratively, from the sale of the cheap, strong heroin.

Images: US soldiers guarding poppy fields in Afghanistan

you are welcome, Mr. President.

So I must ask; upon seeing these images for the first time, and perhaps having your own "Saul on the Road to Damascus moment", how is it that absolutely no one around you happened to mention this reality to you?!?

Then sir, if the people around you, who seem to have both "your back" and your ears haven't mentioned this, perhaps it is high time for a re-think about who you can trust, or not trust, and right the heck right now.

The future of this country depends upon it.

Now, as to Yemen; I know that one of your two BFFs in the region, Prince Bin Salman, AKA the Butcher of Yemen, is insistent on a military victory against the Houthi rebels, no matter what the cost.

But the costs to the Yemeni people have been bitterly severe, including:

1. Women and children, and the medically fragile getting blown to bits, courtesy of Saudi bombings, which the US military is assisting. Markets, hospitals and schools are blown up, with impunity, courtesy of Saudi bombing runs.

2. There is rampant malnutrition, due to the fact that the US military is assisting Saudi military personnel blocking Yemen's ports , to insure no food gets to the starving people.

3. There is rampant cholera in Yemen (possibly weaponised and from the US government), courtesy of Saudi bombing runs against their water infrastructure, and the death toll is horrific.

President Trump, we understand that you believe "war is good for US business", because just about the only things governments want to buy from us are our weapons; but sir, in looking at the reality that the US military, in aiding and abetting Saudi war crimes in Yemen, makes the US government complicit in these war crimes, at what moral cost to the country are we doing this?!?

You need to call the Butcher of Yemen, apologise to him, and tell him,

"Look Prince, the whole Yemen situation is about to go public, big-time, so the US military is going to have to "pack it in" long before the election happens.

Sorry about that; but I have to make sure that American's SMD, selective memory disorder, kicks in around June of next year, so that this whole "Yemen thing" will be forgotten. You understand, right?!?"

Again, you are welcome, President Trump.

PUTIN OVERSEES FINAL HYPERSONIC MISSILE TEST BEFORE 2019 DEPLOYMENT

The Russian Defence Ministry, on special orders from President Vladimir Putin, on Wednesday conducted a successful final test launch of a new hypersonic glide missile system ahead of its official deployment in 2019, according to reports from Russian state media. The new weapon, called the Avangard, uses an intercontinental ballistic missile and a hypersonic glide vehicle and can travel 20 times the speed of sound.

In Wednesday's field exercise, the hypersonic weapon was launched from the Dombarovsky Air Base in the southern Ural Mountains. Moscow said the missile successfully struck a designated practice target on the Kura Missile Test Range, more than 3,700 miles away.

“Putin arrived at the National Defense Control Center and gave the command to start the tests,” the Kremlin’s press office said, according to Russian media outlet Sputnik. “The launch was conducted by combat troops of the Strategic Missile Forces from the Dombarovsky launch facility.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

You see, the difference between Russian and American weaponry manufacturers is, that the Russians actually test their equipment before deploying them, to make absolutely certain that they work as they are supposed to; with American weapons manufacturers the results are .... somewhat less stellar.

As those of you who read my posts understand; as a Christian pacifist activist, I abhor war as a way for the US to achieve its geopolitical goals. That having been said, when our military are actually in a war environment, I want to see the best weaponry possible for them, and not fraught with the kinds of delays, foul-ups, bleeps, and blunders we see as a chronic problem in American weapons programs.

And as an example, I give you America's 21st century "Honorary Edsel" of a jet fighter, the Lockheed Martin F-35.

January 24, 2018: the F-35, the world's most expensive weapons system, still has plenty of problems

July 2018: WTF-35: How the Joint Strike Fighter Got to Be Such a Mess

F-35 flaws are being hidden, so that they can claim development phase is done

September, 2018: the F-35 still has unresolved design flaws

October 17, 2018: Heading into F-35 Operational test, threats of delays loom

You do, I am sure, catch my drift here; the necessary, and highly complex, process of solving these problems appears to be in its absolute infancy, and unless the process is intelligently addressed by both Martin Lockheed and the US military, this will continue to be the Edsel of US weaponry.

Nuclear X-files? Academics baffled as UK govt. pulls docs from national archives

Thousands of national archive files on Britain’s atomic and nuclear weapons energy programs have been withdrawn from public view by order of the UK government without any explanation, alarming academics.

Researchers reported that the documents, dating from 1939 to the 1980s, were unexpectedly withdrawn by the National Archives last week. The files relate to, among other subjects, the creation of Britain’s first nuclear bombs and the private papers of the Nobel Prize-winning physicist who split the atomic nucleus, Sir John Cockcroft.

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA), who provided no explanation for the removal, was behind the withdrawal, according to the National Archives.

A spokesperson for the NDA stated that they are “absolutely committed to openness and transparency,” though no reason has been forthcoming, leading to speculation among academics that the files contained previously overlooked sensitive information, which should be withheld from public view.

China flaunts its new deadly drone bomber which can fly 35 hours without refuelling and spy on enemies from 23,000ft

China has shown off its latest drone bomber as it releases footage of the unmanned aircraft completing its first flight.

Wing Loong I-D, a type of combat and spy drone, can carry more than 10 different types of weapons and fly up to 35 hours without refuelling.

It is also able to scout information from as high as 7,000 metres (22,965 feet), according to Chinese news site Sina Military.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem here, is not that the Chinese military has this weapon, which sounds very formidable indeed; the question which must be raised at this time, is why do American military not have either the equivalent of such a weapon, or better?!?

Russia to target any US missiles deployed in Europe after INF treaty terminated — Kremlin

Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier spoke of possibility of a nuclear war following the US withdrawal from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF)

If the United States deploys its missile systems in Europe after terminating the INF Treaty, Russia will have to aim its own missiles at those systems, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in a Channel One broadcast on Thursday night.

Russia not seeking arms race, but a balance of power — Putin
The presidential spokesman was asked to comment on Russian President Vladimir Putin’s words about the possibility of a nuclear war following the US withdrawal from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty.

Webmaster's Commentary:

President Trump, I would politely, but strongly, caution you that the Russians mean precisely what they say.

Right now, I am reminded of that archetypal dream, where one is observing two trains, headed toward each other, and you can see what the result will be, which is a spectacular crash, with horrific fatalities, but are unable to get the attention of the engineers driving both trains.

War is a brilliant money maker, for those with stockpiles of bandages and bombs, and who can charge usurious prices for those items, as well as money to lend to governments to pursue their wars; but war is a pretty lousy way of conducting foreign policy.

In fact, I would characterise war as the abject failure of honorable,, moral diplomacy, with which governments should be achieving their political, and financial, objectives.

I would therefore, strongly suggest to President Trump, now that he has announced that US troops are leaving Syria, that he very much consider the possibility of meeting with Putin, and very soon.

The time is, unfortunately, running out for a positive outcome on this issue, and I hope that both Trump and Putin have the moral character to come to a reasonable resolution on this.

FLASHBACK - IRmep wins release of Pentagon report detailingaspects of Israel's nuclear weapons production facilities

The report revealed that in 1987 the Israelis were "developing the kind of codes which will enable them to make hydrogen bombs. That is, codes which detail fission and fusion processes on a microscopic and macroscopic level." Such research was taking place in Israeli facilities similar to the major US nuclear weapons development sites. "The SOREQ and the Dimona/Beer Shiva facilities are the equivalent of our Los Alamos, Lawrence Livermore and Oak Ridge National Laboratories. The SOREQ center runs the full nuclear gamut of activities from engineering, administration and non-destructive testing to electro-optics, pulsed power, process engineering and chemistry and nuclear research and safety. This is the technology base required for nuclear weapons design and fabrication."

Putin regrets growing global tendency of underestimating risks of nuclear war

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he regrets growing global tendency of underestimating the risks of a nuclear war.

"I just thought somehow the danger of such a development in the world is somehow fading into the background," he said. "It seems impossible or something not so important. In the meantime, should anything like that happen, God forbid, this may result in the death of civilization and, possibly, the entire planet."

President Putin hopes mankind will have enough common sense to prevent a third world war from ever happening.

Syria Militants Create Hotbeds of Terror in Africa - Russian Security Council

Some militant groups, after their defeat in Syria and Iraq, have been relocating to Africa, where they create large enclaves of the Daesh terrorist group, al-Qaeda and Boko Haram, Alexander Venediktov, the Russian Security Council secretary's assistant, told Sputnik.

"Let's take the problem of terrorism, which today is acute for African countries. After the defeat in Syria and Iraq, some militants have been on their way to the Sahel and further southward. As a result, bandit enclaves under the banners of ISIS [Daesh], al-Qaeda and Boko Haram, which has pledged allegiance to IS [Daesh] militants, are emerging on the vast territories," Venediktov said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is interesting to me what Venediktov didn't mention in his speech, and that is the following:

The US Created Al Qaeda, and the Isis Terror group

Islamic State
Now the truth emerges: how the US fuelled the rise of Isis in Syria and Iraq

Trump Ends Covert Aid to Syrian Rebels Trying to Topple Assad

Behind the Sudden Death of a $1 Billion Secret C.I.A. War in Syria

OK, let's see how this plays out in Africa. And I have done these analyses for far too long, to believe in the "long arm of coincidence" here.

Russia, Iran, and Syria have been pretty much successful in getting rid of the Jihadis, so what do we hear today from the Trump administration ?!?

Trump administration plans to pull U.S. troops out of Syria immediately, officials say

Now, what other countries would the US government like to regime change? The answer is, many African countries, with resources the US government wants to control, and only have sold in US dollars.

And right on time, BOOM!! Here come those same US trained/funded/armed jihadis who got kicked out of Syria, working to undermine and destabilize many African countries, just as they had attempted to undermine and destabilize Syria.

Folks, the arrival of these jihadis in Africa is utterly no accident or coincidence.

They have arrived precisely on time, to do what they attempted in Syria, but got driven out successfully by the Syrian, Russian, and Iranian military.

Perhaps the group-think in DC, is that the African nations they wish to destabilize won't be anywhere near as lucky in calling in outside resources, such as those of Russia, or Iran.

But in light of the fact that China is doing a lot of deals in Africa China in Africa; Win/Win or a new colonialism? , one has to wonder if we will be seeing the Chinese military assisting governments getting rid of the jihadis to protect their investments.

THE US MILITARY IS GENETICALLY MODIFYING MICROBES TO DETECT ENEMY SHIPS

The US military’s Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) is developing genetically engineered organisms that it hopes will be able to detect the presence of enemy submarines, ships, or divers, according to a new report published in Defense One.

The work is part of a $45 million initiative across all the branches of the US armed forces that is investigating ocean-based military applications for genetic engineering.

Motherboard has previously reported on the military’s plans to use larger aquatic animals to detect enemy ships, but now it appears that they are also looking to weaponize biology on the microscale.

As the Naval Research Laboratory told Motherboard in an email, researchers plan on using microorganisms commonly found in the ocean and genetically modify them so they react to various substances left by enemy vessels or equipment, such as fuel exhaust and trace amounts of metals.

U.S. Dropped Fleas With Bubonic Plague on North Korea

This happened some 63 years ago, but as the U.S. government has never stopped lying about it, and it’s generally known only outside the United States, I’m going to treat it as news.

Here in our little U.S. bubble we’ve heard of a couple versions of a film called The Manchurian Candidate. We’ve heard of the general concept of “brainwashing” and may even associate it with something evil that the Chinese supposedly did to U.S. prisoners during the Korean War. And I’d be willing to bet that the majority of people who’ve heard of these things have at least a vague sense that they’re bullshit.

If you didn’t know, I’ll break it to you right now: people cannot actually be programed like the Manchurian candidate, which was a work of fiction. There was never the slightest evidence that China or North Korea had done any such thing. And the CIA spent decades trying to do such a thing, and finally gave up.

US unable to defend against Russian and Chinese hypersonic weapons, report warns

The U.S. lacks the defenses needed to protect against a new breed of highly sophisticated hypersonic weapons from China and Russia, according to a Government Accountability Office (GAO) report.

Video: America Is Preparing for Confrontation with Russia and China

The strategic vision which emerges from the Congressional report – even more worrying when we note that the Commission is composed of equal numbers of Republicans and Democrats – leaves no room for doubt. The United States – which, since 1945, has provoked wars causing between 20 and 30 million deaths (plus the hundreds of millions caused by the indirect effects of these wars) to “guide the construction of a world of unusual prosperity, freedom and security, from which it has benefited enormously” is now preparing to do anything necessary to maintain its “unequaled military power” upon which their empire is founded, but which is now beginning to crumble with the emergence of a multipolar world.

For this purpose, the Congressional Commission is examining scenarios of aggression against the United States, which are no more than the mirror image of their own aggressive strategy, which runs the risk of dragging the world into catastrophe.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Folks, as Mike and I have been trying to point out at this site for years, it is not a question of "if" such horrendous circumstances will arrive; it is only a question of when, and what will be used to "justify" war on either country.

LARGEST NUMBER OF BOMB THREATS EVER AGAINST WESTERN TARGETS IN 4 COUNTRIES

An unprecedented “flood of bomb threats” prompted hundreds of evacuations and closures of private buildings, transport hubs and offices in four countries on Thursday, causing confusion and in some cases panic. The threats —which numbered in the hundreds— were issued throughout the day Thursday against businesses, schools, hospitals and media companies in the United States, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. It is the first time in history that such a large wave of bomb threats was issued against so many targets internationally.

A deadline of one business day was given to deposit the funds. Throughout the day, police agencies across three continents issued notices cautioning people to remain aware of their surroundings and report suspicious messages or behaviour. It was eventually determined that virtually all bomb threats were not credible.

HOWEVER, IT WAS THE SHEER NUMBER AND GEOGRAPHICAL EXTENT OF THE THREATS THAT SHOCKED LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES ACROSS FOUR COUNTRIES.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder by whom these threats were planted, or who was going to profit from such threats?!?

Might it have been the governments themselves, attempting to create a surge of fear so intense, given these massively wide-spread attempts at extortion, that people were going to lose their ability to reason, and that those same governments might use these threats as a pretext for instituting martial law?!?

Cue bono?!? Who really benefits?!? That is the question which should be asked right now.

McCain's Senate Seat Has Been Rented Out to a Pro-Nukes Lobbyist Howling About Russia

LATE LAST MONTH, two former policymakers and lobbyists teamed up for an op-ed in the Washington Post. It was, as the genre goes, fairly mundane: a description of a problem or a threat, and a prescription that just happens to benefit a particular corporate sector that the lobbyists just might have an interest in benefiting.

In a piece titled “Why America needs low-yield nuclear warheads now,” Michael Morell and Jon Kyl argued that Russian and Chinese nuclear modernization programs demanded a response. “Russia is intent on exploiting what it perceives as a U.S. nuclear capability gap,” they write. “We must change that calculation” by adding submarine and sea-launched missiles with nuclear warheads. This would increase deterrence and prevent nuclear war, they claim; otherwise Russia will strike first.

Russia introduces draft UNGA resolution to save INF Treaty

In an attempt to salvage the cornerstone treaty limiting the deployment of nuclear missiles, which the US has decided to unilaterally suspend, Moscow has introduced a draft resolution to the United Nations General Assembly.

The US decision to leave the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty could seriously undermine international non-proliferation as well as arms control mechanisms, and would jeopardize world security, the Russian delegation said, presenting the draft to the UNGA.

The resolution urges the parties to engage in consultations on strategic issues and key points of concern, in the hope that constructive dialogue will not only lead to compliance with the treaty but pave the way for further efforts in global arms reduction. The document also calls for additional ‘confidence-building’ measures, and urges the international community to safeguard the INF treaty.

BBC CLAIMS CHEMICAL WEAPONS HELPED ASSAD BUT FAILS TO EXPLAIN HOW | NEW EASTERN OUTLOOK

The BBC published an article in October titled, "How chemical weapons have helped bring Assad close to victory" in which it claims chemical weapons have been "crucial" to Syrian President Bashar Al Assad's "war-winning strategy."

Superficially - the article appears impressive - loaded from top to bottom with colorful charts, graphs, and photographs of supposed victims in gas masks, expended munitions, and craters.

However, never once does the BBC provide an actual explanation as to how chemical weapons brought Damascus closer to victory. Even at face value, the article's entire premise is challenged in each paragraph by the statistics and events the article itself presents.

Alleged Chemical Weapon Casualties are a Drop in the Ocean

The article begins by claiming (emphasis added):

Webmaster's Commentary:

It is consistently my observation, that demonization in the (alleged) press, totally fact-free, is generally a prelude toward another war against Syria by the West.

I seriously doubt this.

CHINA PLANS UNDERWATER AI BASE IN SOUTH CHINA SEA

China is planning an underwater sea base, a latter-day "Atlantis" that runs on artificial intelligence that could aid Beijing in defense operations in the South China Sea, according to a recent press report.

The project is named after the ancient Greek underworld of Hades and was launched at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing.

UK MUST prepare for ALL OUT WAR against Russia, China and Iran military chief warns

General Sir Nick Carter warned Russia, China, Iran and sadistic terrorist organisations like ISIS are a colossal threat towards the UK. These included ballistic and cruise missiles, low-yield nuclear weapons, cyberweapons, space and counter space weapons, and electronic warfare.

If US Quits INF Treaty, Europe Loses

The statement issued by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization on December 4 regarding the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty following the meeting of the foreign ministers of the alliance in Brussels puts the seal on the US decision to withdraw from the pact.

Washington has successfully rallied its European allies. Armed with NATO solidarity, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo gave Russia a 60-day ultimatum to return to compliance with the Treaty. Pompeo hopes to make Russia the culpable party.

However, quite some time ago, the US had already made up it mind to scrap the treaty. The Congress even made provision in the Pentagon budget for R&D relating to intermediate missiles. But an alibi was needed. In 2002, the US unilaterally withdrew from the ABM Treaty and dealt a body blow to international security without bothering to explain. Netanyahu’s latest corruption case could expose long hidden secrets about Israel’s nuclear weapons program

Milchan needed Netanyahu’s help to secure a long-term visa in the States because his long enjoyed right to long term visas had been revoked. Milchan, an Israeli citizen, was the regular recipient of ten-year U.S. visas until the right was revoked over his confession that he had been working in America on behalf of Israeli intelligence.

Milchan is an Israeli billionaire who is publicly known in the U.S as the Hollywood producer of over 150 movies, including Birdman, Brazil, JFK, Pretty Woman, The Revenant and 12 Years a Slave. He owned over thirty companies in seventeen countries. But at least some of those companies were fronts. According to the biography Confidential: The Life of Secret Agent Turned Hollywood Producer, Milchan set up straw companies and secret bank accounts around the world whose purpose was to finance Israel’s secret Dimona nuclear plant.

Three Reasons That Would Lead To Military Conflict Between Russia And The US

There are at least three reasons that could lead to a military confrontation between Russia and the United States, believes the deputy director of the European and International Research Center of the College of Economics, Dmitry Suslov.

Suslov warned that in the short and medium term a global confrontation would be fraught with very serious risks, among them a military confrontation between Russia and the United States with increasing chances to happen.

"We'll Do It Too": Putin Threatens Arms Race If US Nixes Nuclear Treaty

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday that the Kremlin would "respond appropriately" if the United States pulls out of the Cold War-era nuclear weapons treaty that prohibits intermediate and shorter-range nuclear missiles, according to the WSJ .

In October, President Trump said that Washington would withdraw from the 1987 treaty, citing Russia's development of the 9M729 cruise missile - which Moscow has been working on for several years. As we noted in September, Russia has been working on sub-launched hypersonic missiles capable of carrying a nuclear payload.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And Trump's incontrovertible proof that this has actually happened.... is utterly nowhere to be seen.

Threats, allegations, demonization, and sanctions are generally the prelude to a war. And how the dickens can one blame Putin for making this statement, considering how badly the US government has blamed it countless times for things it utterly did not do, say the alleged "annexing" of Crimea.

Russia in Full Compliance With INF Treaty, US Side Knows Well About It - Moscow

Earlier, the US secretary of state urged Russia to return to the negotiating table to discuss the future of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty. He added that the US would stop complying with it in 60 days if Moscow wouldn’t end its alleged violations of the accord.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova responded to earlier statements by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg regarding the INF treaty by stating that Moscow strictly adheres to the provisions of the arms accord.

"Russia is following the provisions of the treaty and the American side knows this well," she said.

US Lawmakers Introduce Bill to Kill Prospects for Arms Control

US Senator Tom Cotton and Congresswoman Liz Cheney have introduced a bill that prevents extending the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START) with Russia or the Stopping Russia Nuclear Aggression Act. It says “Under no circumstances should the United States agree to extend the New START Treaty beyond the current expiration in 2021 without drastic improvements to the deeply flawed deal.” The bill includes the provision of Russia’s agreement to verifiably reduce its stockpile of tactical nuclear weapons. It also stipulates that the new weapons mentioned in the President Putin’s famous speech in March must be included into the count.

US SECRETARY OF STATE POMPEO CONDEMNS IRAN MISSILE TEST

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Saturday condemned what he described as Iran’s testing of a medium-range ballistic missile capable of carrying multiple warheads as a violation of the international agreement on Tehran’s nuclear program.

Amid tension between Washington and Tehran over ballistic missiles, Pompeo warned in a statement released on Twitter that Iran is increasing its “testing and proliferation” of missiles and called on the Islamic Republic to “cease these activities.”

US President Donald Trump pulled out of an international nuclear agreement in May and reimposed sanctions on Tehran, criticising the deal for not including curbs on Iran’s development of ballistic missiles or its support for proxies in Syria, Yemen, Lebanon and Iraq.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Will SOMEONE in the room please give Pompeo some Calcium and Magnesium, please, before the guy has a conniption?!?

Here is the UN resolution on these issues:

Here is what the resolution actually states:

Resolution 2231 (2015)

Ballistic missile-related transfers and activities
What are the restrictions on Iranian ballistic missile activities?
Paragraph 3 of Annex B of resolution 2231 (2015) calls upon Iran not to undertake any activity related to ballistic missiles designed to be capable of delivering nuclear weapons, including launches using such ballistic missile technology.

What are the restrictions on ballistic missile-related transfers to or activities with Iran?

Resolution 2231 (2015)The document goes on to state:

"Ballistic missile-related transfers and activities

What are the restrictions on Iranian ballistic missile activities?
Paragraph 3 of Annex B of resolution 2231 (2015) calls upon Iran not to undertake any activity related to ballistic missiles designed to be capable of delivering nuclear weapons, including launches using such ballistic missile technology.

What are the restrictions on ballistic missile-related transfers to or activities with Iran?

Pursuant to paragraph 4 of Annex B of resolution 2231 (2015), if approved in advance on a case-by-case basis by the Security Council, all States may participate in and permit:

the supply, sale or transfer directly or indirectly from their territories, or by their nationals or using their flag vessels or aircraft to or from Iran, or for the use in or benefit of Iran, and whether or not originating in their territories."

But, unfortunately for his outrage (which needs a separate room for some rational containment at this point, )Mr. Pompeo cannot prove that these missiles are being engineered for nuclear usage; they are simply medium range ballistic missiles which are capable of carrying multiple warheads. And with so many countries looking to attempt to take a "bite" out of Iran, (like Saudi Arabia, Israel, and the US), why does Iran not have the right to take care of itself militarily, and work on domestically produced missiles with which which can defend itself?!?

Oh, and Mr. Pompeo, one more thing that you didn't get with your morning "memos" a couple of months ago, must have been the following;

Per IAEA inspections, Iran still compliant on the P5+30 deal

So, Sir, if the IAEA states that Iran is still in compliance with the P5+1 agreement, how in the name of heaven can you state, with a straight face, that the test Iran did "violates UNSCR 2231", when you cannot prove, incontrovertibly, that the test was for a nuclear bomb?!? The short, moral and logical answer is, you cannot.

Multiple, Sir: not nuclear. One begins with an M, not an O.

Oh, and while we're talking about the Middle East nuclear weapons proliferation issue, and the rhino snoring fitfully in the living room,(spoiler alert: Israel's nuclear weapons), can you please explain to my brother and sister Americans why the American tax payers are still paying for weapons and defense for this country, when such action is Constitutionally forbidden by the Symington and Glenn Amendments?!?

Any enlightenment here, Mr. Pompeo?!? Why does Congress choose to break the law, over and over again, by providing funding and weapons for Israel, while homeless Vets sleep rough in our streets; our infrastructure is collapsing in front of us; and we are living in a Thirdworldistan nation, at this point in the history of the Unhinged, Surveilled, State of Amerika.

The Nuclear Lies of NATO’s Jens Stoltenberg. Brand New “Precision Guidance” Nukes Deployed All Over Europe

First: as from March 2020, the United States will begin to deploy in Italy, Germany, Belgium, and Holland (where B-61 nuclear bombs are already based), and probably also in other European countries, the first nuclear bomb with precision guidance in their arsenal, the B61-12. Its function is primarily anti-Russian. This new bomb is designed with penetrating capacity, enabling it to explode underground in order to destroy the central command bunkers with its first strike. How would the United States react if Russia deployed nuclear bombs in Mexico, right next to their territory? Since Italy and the other countries, violating the non-proliferation Treaty, are allowing the USA to use its bases, as well as its pilots and planes, for the deployment of nuclear weapons, Europe will be exposed to a greater risk as the first line of the growing confrontation with Russia.

Rogue regimes like Israel with illegal nukes present real danger to peace: Analyst

Rogue regimes like Israel with their illegal stockpiles of nuclear weapons present the real danger to global peace, according to independent political analyst and writer,Adam Garrie.

A senior Russian official has cautioned the United States against a plan to withdraw from a landmark Cold War-era nuclear arms control treaty with Russia, saying such a move would have grave consequence for the world.

US President Donald Trump announced last month that Washington would withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF), which was signed toward the end of the Cold War in 1987 by then-President Ronald Reagan and Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev.

The treaty — seen as a milestone in ending the Cold War arms race between the two superpowers — banned ground-launch nuclear missiles with ranges from 500 kilometers to 5,500 kilometers and led to the elimination of nearly 2,700 short- and medium-range missiles.

Exclusive: The Pentagon’s Massive Accounting Fraud ExposedHow US military spending keeps rising even as the Pentagon flunks its audit.

n November 15, Ernst & Young and other private firms that were hired to audit the Pentagon announced that they could not complete the job. Congress had ordered an independent audit of the Department of Defense, the government’s largest single cost center—the Pentagon receives two of every three federal tax dollars collected—after the Pentagon failed for decades to audit itself. The firms concluded, however, that the DoD’s financial records were riddled with so many bookkeeping deficiencies, irregularities, and errors that a reliable audit was simply impossible.

U.S. ambassador: Iran failed to declare all chemical weapons to global agency

Iran has not declared all its chemical weapons capabilities to the global chemical weapons agency in The Hague, in violation of an international non-proliferation convention, the U.S. ambassador to the organisation said on Thursday.

Ambassador Kenneth Ward told a meeting of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) that Iran had failed to report a production facility for the filling of aerial bombs and maintains a programme to obtain banned toxic munitions.

There was no immediate Iranian reaction to the remarks.

US bombs continue to kill in Laos 50 years after Vietnam War

US dropped two million tonnes of bombs on Laos at height of Vietnam War. Why are cluster munitions still killing?

Vientiane - This year's Thanksgiving celebration marks 50 years since the American military embarked on the biggest bombing campaign in history, decimating the small Southeast Asian country of Laos by dropping more than two million tonnes of bombs on it at the height of the Vietnam War.

Half a century on, innocent lives are still being lost as the country struggles with the leftovers of the conflict.

On Thanksgiving Day in November 1968, the United States escalated its war against North Vietnam in Laos.

Then-US President Lyndon B Johnson had ordered traditional turkey dinners to be helicoptered in to US troops who were secretly deployed in the quiet, landlocked country to sever the North Vietnamese supply lines that ran through the east.

Bipartisan Panel: US Must Prepare for 'Horrendous,' 'Devastating' War With Russia and China

A bipartisan commission appointed by Congress issued a lengthy report Tuesday backing the Pentagon’s plans to prepare for a “great-power” war against Russia, China, or both, making clear that the Trump administration’s belligerent policies are shared by the Democratic Party.

Safe in the knowledge that its findings will never be seriously reported by the mass media, the authors of this report do not mince words about what such a war will mean. A war between the United States and China, which according to the report might break out within four years, will be “horrendous” and “devastating.” The military will “face greater losses than at any time in decades.” Such a war could lead to “rapid nuclear escalation,” and American civilians will be attacked and likely killed.

"I Can Not Recall": The Reclamation of George W. Bush Is an American Tragedy

By Maj. Danny Sjursen
The whole charade plays best as farce. Absurdity incarnate. The sight of former President George W. Bush receiving a medal from Democrat Joe Biden – once an ardent opponent of Bush’s war policy – in Philadelphia for “his work with veterans,” on Veterans Day no less, induced nothing short of a gag from this veteran of two Bush wars – Iraq and Afghanistan.

George W. Bush, after all, led the U.S. military – to which I’ve dedicated my adult life – into two ill-advised perpetual wars, one of which was objectively illegal and immoral. In that war, in Iraq, some 7,000 American troops – including three of mine – were killed fighting in an unwinnable quagmire. Furthermore, though it slipped the attention of an American citizenry best known for its provincial inwardness, at least 250,000 Iraqis – mostly civilians – were killed. In a just world this would be labeled what it is – a war crime – but in this era of American hegemony, the populace simply sighs with apathy.

Watch China Show Off Its Newest Stealth Jet In Dazzling Flight Demo

Beijing’s fifth-generation stealth jets displayed a dazzling fifteen-minute performance earlier this week at Airshow China 2018. The jets wowed more than 20,000 spectators by performing combat maneuvers in Zhuhai, South China's Guangdong Province, said People's Daily Online.

The J-20 stealth jets were first unveiled to the public at Airshow China 2016.

Wei Dongxu, a Beijing-based military expert, told the Global Times on Tuesday that the J-20s sported a new camouflage look for improved stealth capability.

It seems that China's fifth-generation stealth capabilities could be on par with the US. This threat will certainly not going unanswered by the West. DEMOCRATIC HOUSE HURTS SPACE CORPS, NUKE MODERNIZATION, & PENTAGON TOPLINE

WASHINGTON: The Democrats’ recapturing the House means three major impacts on the Defense Department: The odds are that controversial Trump priorities like new nuclear weapons and a Space Force will go nowhere, defense budgets will go down, and oversight will go up, up, up.

Program winners and losers

The most likely losers are nuclear modernization programs, which leading Democrats like Adam Smith, the prospective House Armed Services Committee chairman, have criticized as unnecessary, excessive, and destabilizing.

Webmaster's Commentary:

I would POLITELY invite every Democrat who doesn't get how seriously behind the curve the US in its weaponry, to read the following article from blacklistednews.com:

Russia deploys its Avangard Glide Vehicle, the unmatched leader in hypersonic flight

WHY THE U.S. MILITARY IS WOEFULLY UNPREPARED FOR A MAJOR CONVENTIONAL CONFLICT

While Secretary Mattis describes the “near peer” nations China and Russia as “revisionist powers”, it was not these nations that made the irresponsible and reckless decisions that have weakened the U.S. military establishment, nor aim to revise the ill-conceived and executed catastrophes of their American “peers”.

They have reached a state of military and technological parity with, and in many cases a position of superiority vis a vis the United States, because they exercised better judgement over the past two decades, invested their time, talent and treasure in developing powerful conventional and nuclear forces, and refrained from using their national defense assets to punish their perceived adversaries in such a way that more damage was caused to themselves.

RUSSIA DEPLOYS ITS AVANGARD GLIDE VEHICLE – THE UNMATCHED LEADER IN HYPERSONIC TECHNOLOGY

The boost-glide weapon can fly at speeds of over Mach 20 or about 15,300 miles per hour (four miles per second). It could reach Washington in 15 minutes even if launched from Russia. There is no way to intercept it, as it moves in a cloud of plasma “like a meteorite.” The weapon is distinctive for its ability to withstand extreme heat during the final phase of its trajectory thanks to its heat-resistant titanium casing. Its in-flight temperature reaches 1,600-2,000° Celsius.

It is impossible to predict the direction of its approach. Installed on the 200-ton Sarmat, the Avangard could be sent into the desired orbit at an altitude of 100 km from Earth using a pre-booster, gliding to its target at a speed of Mach 20 (5-7 km/s) while maneuvering with the help of stabilizers. It can make rapid course changes in the atmosphere. Its signatures are quite different from those of traditional ICBMs. Advanced countermeasure systems increase its ability to penetrate missile defenses.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem here is not that Russia has this technology; the problem is that the US weaponry makers have no defense against it.

And how did that happen?!?

Due to an horrific combination of generous contributions to both sides of the aisle by the military industrial complex, and an absolute lethargy on the part of this industry, when it actually came to beating the Russians at their own defense game.

One would think that with all the money this country spends on weapons systems, that there would be ... at least something in the Avangard's class, developed years ago by US weapons makers; but there is not, leaving this country thoroughly defenseless against its deployment.

And THAT, on the part of both Congress, and the military industrial complex, is utterly criminal.

U.S. arms exports up 13 percent over 2017 as Trump champions deals

- U.S. arms sales to foreign governments rose 13 percent to $192.3 billion in the year ending Sept. 30, the State Department said on Thursday, a result of looser restrictions on sales coupled with high-level efforts to close deals.

President Donald Trump wants to make the United States, already dominant in the global weapons trade, an even bigger arms merchant to the world, U.S. officials have said, despite concerns among human rights and arms control advocates.

The largest U.S. arms contractors, who sell ships, tanks, airplanes, missiles and other goods to foreign militaries, include Boeing Co (BA.N), Lockheed Martin Corp (LMT.N), Raytheon Co (RTN.N), General Dynamics Corp (GD.N) and Northrop Grumman Corp (NOC.N).

The increase came in part because the Trump administration rolled out a new “Buy American” plan in April that relaxed restrictions on sales while encouraging U.S. officials to take a bigger role in increasing business overseas for the U.S. weapons industry

Webmaster's Commentary:

CHINA'S BRIGHTEST CHILDREN ARE BEING RECRUITED TO DEVELOP AI 'KILLER BOTS' - SLASHDOT

According to The South China Morning Post, "some of China's smartest students have been recruited straight from high school to begin training as the world's youngest AI weapons scientists." A total of 27 boys and four girls all under the age of 18 were chosen for the four-year "experimental program for intelligent weapons systems" at the Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) from more than 5,000 candidates. From the report:The BIT is one of the country's top weapons research institutes, and the launch of the new program is evidence of the weight it places on the development of AI technology for military use. "These kids are all exceptionally bright, but being bright is not enough," said a BIT professor who was involved in the screening process but asked not to be named because of the sensitivity of the subject. "We are looking for other qualities such as creative thinking, willingness to fight, a persistence when facing challenges," he said.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Again here, the problem is not that China is doing this; the problem is that the US really has no similar programs to offer its young, gifted people, but without the strictures of a totalitarian form of government.

And about the issue of "patriotism"; patriotism is earned by a government performing its job intelligently and effectively, and without expropriating the resources of other countries and selling them only for the US dollar, through war and destabilization, which has been the US government's MO far too long.

I wish that this government would realize that the size of its national debt is really a challenge to its long-term survival.

I also wish that the deep state corruption, which is generational in this government, could be rooted out.

I also wish that this country would not aid and abet the war crimes of other nations.

I also wish that this country didn't torture, or outsource torture.

With these things sorted, I could become very patriotic, instead of perpetually, deeply concerned about the trajectory of US foreign and domestic policies, and their implications.

RUSSIA DEPLOYS ITS AVANGARD HYPERSONIC GLIDE VEHICLE

On Oct. 12 CNBC reported that Russia had hit a snag in its development of its hypersonic weapon, because it was at the time unable to find a source for the critical carbon fiber components. The news agency stated that the Pentagon had doubts that the Avangard hypersonic glide vehicle (HGV) existed. Skepticism seems widespread. Some believe that Russia’s new super weapons are “virtual reality,” while others think they are “mostly hype.” In March, the National Interest cited Michael Kofman, a research scientist for the Center for Naval Analyses and a highly respected analyst, who offered his assurances that there was no chance Russia could field its hypervelocity boost-glide weapon by 2019. But history has shown that those who believed it to be just a bluff have been proven wrong.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The problem is not that the Russians have this capability; the question is, why does the US military complex not have it, in fact, in several phases ahead of the Russians?!?

The reasons here are very complex.

First, there is a very much "too cosy" relationship between weapons manufacturers, who support political campaigns, and the politicians who have the power to sign off on huge weapons contracts.

Therefore, US weapons manufacturers believe they are free to offer weapons systems which are "glitchy" and do not perform as advertised; that they can deliver weapons systems so late as to be obsolete; and can have cost over-runs on everything which make the cost double, treble, or quadruple the original estimates.

This has to stop and immediately.

No contractor should have the right to "buy" those members of Congress who award weapons contracts, which allow the foregoing to happen.

Contracts for weapons systems must be based on merit, period, end of discussion.

And in the wording of said contracts, there needs to have a clause inserted that if the projects do not work as advertised (like Lockheed Martin's F-35), are delivered so late as to be obsolete; or run up massive cost over-runs, the executives of those companies will be tried for treason for failing to deliver as promised by a jury of their peers, and do hard jail time.

As absolutely draconian as this may sound, it may put an end to endangering our troops' lives with inferior weapons products.

On the Edge of Nuclear Armageddon: Donald Trump Welcomes in the Age of “Usable” Nuclear Weapons

It was only an announcement, but think of it as the beginning of a journey into hell. Last week, President Donald Trump made public his decision to abrogate the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF), a 1987 agreement with the Soviet Union. National Security Advisor John Bolton, a Cold Warrior in a post-Cold War world, promptly flaunted that announcement on a trip to Vladimir Putin’s Moscow. To grasp the import of that decision, however, quite another kind of voyage is necessary, a trip down memory lane.

Is Israel Helping Saudi Arabia Develop Nukes?

Is the radical Israeli government helping the Saudis build nuclear weapons? According to a new report in the online news and commentary website “Middle East Monitor,” an Israeli writer is blowing the whistle on a secret deal between Israel and Saudi Arabia to sell detailed information on how to build a nuke.

“This information should shock us,” Ami Dor-on wrote in a whistle-blowing column posted online at the “News One” website, “as we see the world is changing for the worse, following the race for the possession of nuclear weapons that pass right over our heads in the Middle East.”

MbS launches nuclear plant project amid Khashoggi drama

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has laid the foundation stone for the kingdom’s first nuclear research reactor as calls grow in the US for a halt to nuclear talks with the Riyadh regime, which has been rattled by a scandal over the murder of dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

The official Saudi Press Agency reported that the project had been launched during bin Salman’s visit to King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology in Riyadh on Monday.

The reactor was among seven projects launched by the prince during the visit, said the report.

It did not provide details on when the reactor – which is said to serve research and development purposes – would be constructed

Bin Salman, also known as MbS, has been pushing for an atomic deal with the United States that could pave the way for the Saudi regime to enrich uranium, prompting speculation that the regime might be planning to develop nuclear weapons in the long run.

NORTH KOREA WARNS THEY’LL RETURN TO NUKE DEVELOPMENT IF SANCTIONS AREN’T LIFTED

Over the weekend, North Korea issued a statement warning that they will “seriously consider” returning to the development on nuclear weapons if the US continues to refuse to ease economic sanctions against them.

Since North Korea halted nuclear testing and has made substantial diplomatic progress, many nations have advocated for some early sanctions relief, but so far every such effort has been blocked by the US. North Korea is growing increasingly impatient with that, and with the Trump Administration refusing to reach a peace treaty with them.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo dismissed the threats, and reiterated that the US has no intention of allowing any sanctions relief until America achieves its “ultimate objective.” Though this is meant to be understood as nuclear disarmament, some in North Korea have been increasingly vocal in fearing that the US will never deliver on anything once they’ve already gotten what they want.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF, in fact, President Trump is the negotiator he claims to be, then this arbitrary one-sidedness must be softened.

Otherwise, he risks losing every possible future accommodation North Korea may be willing to give.

IF he slips back into a war footing with North Korea, he will have wasted a very precious opportunity to get North Korea back into the community of nations which have shunned it, at all levels, for so many years, at the US's edict.

US Military Reportedly Concerned It Won't Be Able to 'Repel Iran's Missiles'

Unnamed military sources, quoted by The Washington Post, have expressed alarm over Iran’s unpredictable reaction to US economic and diplomatic pressure.

The Washington Post has cited several military officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, as expressing concern that reducing the US military presence in the Middle East has dealt a blow to their ability to react to potential Iranian threats amid what they called an increased potential for confrontation due to the sanctions.

The military reportedly believes that it’s the current administration’s policy to deter Iran, including Donald Trump’s decision to pull out of the landmark nuclear deal and efforts to eliminate what National Security Adviser John Bolton branded as “the Iranian menace” in Syria and in the region as a whole that has increased the likelihood of military confrontation.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The whole point of the US military and economic posture against Iran, is to insure that it does create a "justification" for war against it.

North Korea Warns Of Return To Nuclear Policy

Pyongyang expresses frustration over the slow progress of the lifting of sanctions while US insists on denuclearisation.

North Korea has warned the United States it will "seriously" consider returning to a state policy aimed at building nuclear weapons if Washington does not end tough economic sanctions against the impoverished regime.

In a statement issued late on Friday, the North's foreign ministry said Pyongyang could revert to its former policy if the US did not change its stance over sanctions.

"The word 'byungjin' may appear again and the change of the line could be seriously reconsidered," said the statement carried by the official KCNA news agency.

Moscow Initiates De-dollarization: India To Pay For S-400 Systems In Rubles

Since it became evident last summer that India was moving forward with purchase of at least five of Russia's S-400 air defense systems, the controversial initiative which is part of India's big ambitions for regional dominance immediately ruffled relations with Washington, resulting in the complete cancellation of at least one planned visit of Mike Pompeo and Jim Mattis to New Delhi.

The S-400s can detect, track and destroy supersonic bombers, drones, fifth-generation fighters, spy planes, and supersonic missiles at a range of up to 400km and altitude of 30km - in what many Indian officials have praised as a game-changing military acquisition which has further cemented the Russian-Indian defense relationship which includes Moscow now accounting for 62 percent of New Delhi’s arms imports.

Webmaster's Commentary:

That Trump and his people couldn't see this coming, in terms of the rapidity with which the US dollar is being shunned in favor of other currencies, is nearly terrifying.

Video: Syrian Army Discovers ISIS Depot with US-Supplied Ammunition

On November 1, Hayat Tahir al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra) announced that its members had attacked positions of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) near the village of Abu Qamis in southeastern Idlib. Three SAA soldiers were reportedly killed.

A source in the SAA told SouthFront that clashes had erupted near the village, but declined to provide additional details. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, at least one Hayat Tahrir al-Sham member was killed.

Later on the same day, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham and another al-Qaeda-linked group, Horas al-Din, shelled multiple SAA positions in northern Hama and western Aleppo.

The Next Generation of Warfare: Genetically Engineered Viruses: Mac Slavo

Genetically engineered viruses could very well become the next generation of warfare. Deadly viruses modified in labs could be released eliminating entire communities of people as they infect making them a valuable asset to militaries worldwide.

As dystopian as that sounds, the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) is already working on a project called Insect Allies which will use insects to infect crops with genetically modified viruses that edit the crops’ genetic profile to make them more resilient against disease, as well as natural and manufactured threats to the food supply.

U.S. Navy’s Costliest Carrier Was Delivered Without Elevators to Lift Bombs

The $13 billion Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier, the U.S. Navy’s costliest warship, was delivered last year without elevators needed to lift bombs from below deck magazines for loading on fighter jets.

Previously undisclosed problems with the 11 elevators for the ship built by Huntington Ingalls Industries Inc. add to long-standing reliability and technical problems with two other core systems -- the electromagnetic system to launch planes and the arresting gear to catch them when they land.

Webmaster's Commentary:

ARE YOU FLIPPING KIDDING ME?!?

Why were no phased engineering checks being done by the Navy, before they took delivery of a $13 billion dollar aircraft carrier that doesn't work?!?!?

And why aren't Mike Petters, Andy Green, and Kris Kastner of Huntington Ingalls Industries Inc getting grilled by Congress, in open session, about why their products have become so damned unreliable, that our military professionals' lives are being threatened by this avalanche of both extraordinarily bad decisions, and massive operational defects?!?

Forgive me, but this makes absolutely zero sense to me.

DARPA SEEKS FAA APPROVAL FOR MILITARY DRONES OVER AMERICAN CITIES

Just a little over 10 years after drone surveillance inside U.S. borders was declared a conspiracy theory, it is now an indisputable fact of life. So, too, are military grade drones along the “border,” which in reality constitutes a 100-mile-wide swath that encircles the continental United States and 2/3 of its population.

According to a new report from Defense One, this level of access is still seen as a restriction by the DARPA-directed military apparatus. As new forms of autonomous aircraft take to the skies such as the latest Blackhawk helicopter drones that could be ready by 2019, DARPA and aircraft developers want permission to fly over large cities as needed. Utilizing a new artificial intelligence system that is literally called MATRIX, developers see an opportunity for more flexibility in potential use. Of course, surveillance isn’t mentioned among those uses:

Webmaster's Commentary:

This will lead to 24/7 surveillance on every man, woman, and child in this country; and possibly, if the government doesn't particularly like and individual and what they have to say, these units can be perfectly outfitted for extrajudicial assassinations.

When it comes to law, such a surveillance system can be ruthlessly lawless; no judge; no jury; no presumption of innocence; just death, for the outspoken and those with alternative facts and/or opinions.

U.S. Military’s Self-Flying Helicopter Program Passes Critical Test

After nearly four years of research and development, the U.S.military is closer to helicopters that can fly themselves through unpredictable terrain and execute difficult missions with virtually no human input. It’s part of the Pentagon’s Aircrew Labor In-Cockpit Automation System, or ALIAS, program. Helicopter maker Sikorsky passed a key test earlier this month during an experiment at Fort Eustis, Virginia, involving an S-76B helicopter. The test demonstrated that Sikorsky’s software, called MATRIX, could take off, fly in difficult winds and at low altitude, avoid wires and other obstacles, and even make determinations about whether or not it is safe to land in one place or another. The goal, now, is to integrate the technology onto a Black Hawk helicopter next year.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As awesome as this technology has to be, I wish our country were more capable of creating AI systems which heal, rather than shoot to kill, or maim, which is most probably how these systems will be advanced.

Cuban Crisis 2.0: Russia "Assessing" Military Base In Cuba After US INF Pullout

A senior Russian official proposed that his country is seriously considering establishing a military base in Cuba in response to Trump’s plan to quit the INF treaty, predicting that "a new Cuban crisis" could erupt if the US and Russia fail to come to terms.

According to General Vladimir Shamanov, the head of the Russian lower house of parliament's defense committee and a former airborne troops commander, with the US planning on walking away from the Cold War-era Intermediate-Range Nuclear Force (INF) treaty, Russia's response should be in the "spirit of those times", by reactivating Russian military facilities in Cuba.

The U.S. and Russia have accused one another of violating the agreement, but President Donald Trump has announced his intention to now end it, paving the way for new nuclear and conventional weapons systems at a time of heightened tensions, Newsweek reported.

MATTIS: US NEEDS "OFFENSIVE WEAPONS IN SPACE" FOR DEFENSE

Secretary of Defense James Mattis claims that it’s not enough for the United States to have advanced weapons on Earth, but in order for the nation to be safe, the country needs weapons in space. Mattis alleges that in order to protect the American way of life, the Pentagon must be prepared for the deployment and usage of offensive weapons in space.

“We are going to have to be prepared to use offensive weapons in space should someone decide to militarize it and go on the offensive,” said the retired Marine who took over the Pentagon in January 2017, according to RT. In any competitive sport in the world, “you cannot simply play defense and win,” Mattis added. “This is not an area that we want to be second-place in.”

Space is “critical to our economy, it’s critical to our way of life, we’ve grown reliant on it,” Mattis said. In addition to the surveillance and military intelligence roles, US satellites are used for navigation, communication, commerce, and banking.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President and Sec Def Mattis, a word, please: walking away from this Outer Space Treaty of 67 is a really, really bad idea, and incurring the costs, at the expense of Americans already marginalized by the "great migration" of American jobs which have been offshored/outsourced over the past 20 years, will not "endear" this administration with its base.

I would like you to both, please, consider both the consequences, and the costs, to this country, both in terms of its international reputation (which appears to be going through an industrial-strength shredder as I type this), and the coming geopolitical cycle for 2020.

China’s Xi tells military to prepare for war as US Navy warns of high seas encounters

One of the key responsibilities of the Southern Theater Command is protecting China’s interests in the South China Sea, where Beijing claims sovereignty over a number of islands. The sea is of strategic importance to Chinese trade. The US rejects the territorial claims and has been sending so-called Freedom of Navigation missions through the waters and airspace, which Beijing considers its own, as a gesture of defiance.

Chief of US Naval Operations Admiral John Richardson said Tuesday the US and China “will meet each other more and more on the high seas” as the two nations confront each other in the South China Sea.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Just because something is the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing it could possibly do, is utterly no guarantee that the US government will not do it.

Provoking China over these islands is definitely one of the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid things the US military could be doing right now.

As someone who sits on an Island which would be a first-strike target for China, if this war cranks up, you can color me extraordinarily nervous right now.

Trump Surrenders to John Bolton on Russia and Arms Control

Declaring that “there is a new strategic reality out there,” President Donald Trump’s hardline national security advisor John Bolton announced during a visit to Moscow earlier this week that the United States would be withdrawing from the 31-year-old Intermediate Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty. “This was a Cold War bilateral ballistic missile-related treaty,” Bolton said, “in a multi-polar ballistic missile world.”

“It is the American position that Russia is in violation,” Bolton told reporters after a 90-minute meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. “Russia’s position is that they aren’t. So one has to ask how to ask the Russians to come back into compliance with something they don’t think they’re violating.”

UN Committee Votes Against Russia’s Resolution on INF Treaty

Russia introduced a draft resolution aimed to preserve the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty to the UN General Assembly First Committee after the US announced a unilateral withdrawal from the pact.

The First Committee of the UN General Assembly, also known as Disarmament and International Security Committee, declined on Friday to hear Russia's draft resolution in support of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty.

Russia proposed the draft resolution to the committee, but the US delegation protested against it. On Friday, the committee voted on whether the resolution draft should be reviewed.

Who will save us from America? Trump's INF withdrawal is a neocon dream & global nightmare

Washington’s vow to pull out of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty poses again the question: Who will save us from America?

If complacency is the enemy of progress hubris is the harbinger of regress. And it is hubris of the most egregious kind that describes the unconscionable decision of the Trump administration to affect the unilateral withdrawal of the US from the 1987 INF nuclear treaty, one that at the time of its establishment Soviet premier Mikhail Gorbachev pointed out was “the first agreement in history on the mutually agreed destruction of an entire class of nuclear weapons.”

Who profits from the end of the mid-range nuclear treaty?

As they were discussing extremely serious issues such as implications of a dissolving INF Treaty, the perpetuation of anti-Russia sanctions, the risk of not extending a new START Treaty and the deployment, in Putin’s words, of “some elements of the missile shield in outer space”, the Russian President got into, well, arrows and olives:

“As I recall, there is a bald eagle pictured on the US coat of arms: it holds 13 arrows in one talon and an olive branch in the other as a symbol of peaceful policy: a branch with 13 olives. My question: has your eagle already eaten all the olives leaving only the arrows?”

Bolton’s response: “I didn’t bring any olives.”

"No Chance INF Will Be Renegotiated" Says Top Russian Official Ahead Of Trump-Putin Meeting

On Wednesday a top Russian defense official warned that it's impossible that Moscow will renegotiate the the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF), said to likely be at the top of the agenda when Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump are set to meet in Paris on November 11 on the sidelines of commemorative events of the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

Chairman of the Defense Committee of the State Duma, Vladimir Shamanov, is reported to have said there's "no chances that the nuclear treaty will be renegotiated" citing Russia's position of there being "no turning point" away from the Reagan and Soviet-era 1987 treaty placing restrictions on nuclear-capable missiles and outlining arms reduction agreements.

The Trump administration is pushing ahead with its withdrawal from the INF Treaty. Speaking to Sputnik, Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, former US Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Economic Policy under President Ronald Reagan, shared his views on the apparent motives and driving forces behind the latest US gambit.

"This is yet another concession to the military-security complex, which is feeding its huge profits with orchestrated fear of Russia, which is then used to secure support from the American people and Congress for more military spending to counter the 'Russian threat'," said Dr. Paul Craig Roberts, commenting on Donald Trump's intention to quit the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty. There is one big and glaring sign that the United States seeks to thrust the globe back into an arms race. John Bolton is in Moscow to discuss the United States’ intent to withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty.

These types of weapons would have the ability to travel at five times the speed of sound or more. They could strike at a target while evading missile defenses and hit almost anywhere without any warning deep inside enemy territory.

In March, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced his nation had successfully tested a hypersonic weapon known as the Kinzhal, the Russian word for “dagger.” The video below shows the Russian “Dagger” which is one of the hypersonic weapons currently being developed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

The last statement rather perplexes me; I would like to ask Mike Griffin, if it is true that the US did the research, which had to be highly classified, how, please, did the Chinese and Russian arms makers get their hands on it?!?

Or, is it possible, that logic drove both countries to the conclusions as to how the science behind this technology works, without ever having seen the US research on it?

The withdrawal of the US from this arms treaty will be noted as a very sad day in the history of this planet; if there are any humans left from the last great war to mourn its happening, that is.

ISHCHENKO: PUTIN’S NUCLEAR WARNING WAS NO MERE ACCIDENT

I think that it’s not by chance that Vladimir Putin in Valdai spoke about the increased danger of a nuclear war, repeated the axiom about Russia’s readiness to take the whole world with itself and discussed the right to a preventive strike.
***
Let me also remind you that Russia in its time stated the possibility of its withdrawal from the INF Treaty in response to the withdrawal of the Americans from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty. I think that the way out was therefore not carried out, that it turned out to be more efficient to develop and put into service a new high-precision weapon, which allows not to violate the Treaty and at the same time not be particularly connected with it from a strategic point of view.

Arms Race: Nations Hurry To Develop Hypersonic Weapons

There is one big and glaring sign that the United States seeks to thrust the globe back into an arms race. John Bolton is in Moscow to discuss the United States’ intent to withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty.

The end of the 31-year-old treaty signifies that potentially, world powers will return to an arms race mentality. But there are some that believe the arms race is already upon us. According to NPR, over the past year, the U.S., China, and Russia have all stepped up efforts to develop a new kind of missile; a weapon that can fly faster and farther than almost anything in existence. This kind of missile is known as a hypersonic weapon.

These types of weapons would have the ability to travel at five times the speed of sound or more. They could strike at a target while evading missile defenses and hit almost anywhere without any warning deep inside enemy territory.

What Asia thinks (but won’t say) about Trump ditching INF Treaty

US president’s intention to withdraw from the INF Treaty with Russia dents perceptions of American reliability. It also raises the prospect of an arms race in China’s backyard

Asian nations have for the most part stayed silent over a threat by the United States to withdraw from a disarmament treaty with Russia that has kept nuclear proliferation in check for the past three decades.

But analysts warn that US President Donald Trump’s announcement last week about his intention to pull out of the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces (INF) Treaty – a move he made without forewarning Asian allies – will have dented perceptions of America’s reliability as a defence partner.

Naoko Aoki, Stanton Nuclear Security Fellow at The Rand Corporation, said the credibility of the US rested on two pillars: its “capability and resolve”.
