Saudi Arabia Starts All-Out Oil War: MbS Destroys OPEC By Flooding Market, Slashing Oil Prices

With the commodity world still smarting from the Nov 2014 Saudi decision to (temporarily) break apart OPEC, and flood the market with oil in (failed) hopes of crushing US shale producers (who survived thanks to generous banks extending loan terms and even more generous buyers of junk bonds), which nonetheless resulted in a painful manufacturing recession as the price of Brent cratered as low as the mid-$20's in late 2015/early 2016, on Saturday, Saudi Arabia launched its second scorched earth, or rather scorched oil campaign in 6 years. And this time there will be blood.

MbS Widens Purge: Dozens Of Royals And Army Officers Swept Up After Powerful Princes Arrested

Yesterday we predicted a return to MbS' infamous Ritz-Carlton Riyadh shakedown of 2017 after a dramatic Friday morning raid on the homes of King Salman's brother, Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz al Saud, and Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz al Saud.

All eyes are on the spread of the deadly coronavirus, so what better time to initiate a broader crackdown (or at least dramatically restart the 2017-2018 purge), than when world leaders are distracted by making sure their societies survive a potential apocalyptic pandemic?

The pair, which happen to be the kingdom's top most powerful royals aside from MbS, having both in the past been in charge of Saudi armed forces and intelligence in the post of Interior Minister, were arrested for allegedly plotting a coup to unseat the king and crown prince. Of course any level of evidence was not forthcoming. Treason could bring the death penalty.

Saudi Arabia locks down Shia-majority region using coronavirus as excuse

Saudi Arabia has imposed a lockdown on the oil-rich and Shia-populated Qatif region with an excuse to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

In a statement released on Sunday, the Saudi Interior Ministry said no one would be allowed to enter or exit Qatif and that work at all public and private sectors in the region had been suspended with the exception of institutions providing necessary services.

“Given that all 11 recorded positive cases of the new coronavirus are from Qatif... it has been decided... to temporarily suspend entry (into) and exit from Qatif,” the statement read.

Residents in Eastern Province, which includes Qatif, have long demanded an end to what they say is discrimination by the Riyadh regime.

Russia Just Told the World, “No.”

There is real power in the word “No.”

In fact, I’d argue that it is the single most powerful word in any language.

In the midst of the worst market meltdown in a dozen years which has at its source problems within global dollar-funding markets, Russia found itself in the position to exercise the Power of No.

Multiple overlapping crises are happening worldwide right now and they all interlock into a fabric of chaos.

Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman orders arrests of Saudi Arabia king's brother, an ex-crown prince and a cousin by masked black-clad guards for 'treason' as he consolidates his hold on power

Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz al Saud and Prince Mohammed bin Nayef arrested
Over plot to oust king and son, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, reports suggest
Mohammed bin Nayef had been crown prince before his title was taken away
King Salman put his son - Prince Mohammed bin Salman - first in line for throne.

The brother and nephew of Saudi Arabia's King Salman have been arrested over a plot to oust the king and his son, Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The detentions cast aside the last vestiges of potential opposition to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and come as the kingdom limits access to Islam's holiest sites in a highly sensitive move to contain the fast-spreading coronavirus.

Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, a brother of King Salman, and the monarch's nephew Prince Mohammed bin Nayef were accused of treason.

They were taken from their homes early on Friday by black-clad royal guards, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing unnamed sources.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder; how long before these men get assassinated, and their families are imprisoned for life?!?

And will someone please remind me, about all the LOGICAL REASONS why Bin Salman is one of two of Trump's "BFFS forever" in the Middle East, the other being Israel's Bibi Netanyahu?!?

I am REALLY having a hard time with this, thank you.

Saudi Arabia detains three royal family members in latest crackdown

Saudi authorities have detained three royal family members including two senior princes, according to US media reports, signalling the crown prince is further tightening his grip on power.

Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, a brother of King Salman, and the monarch’s nephew Prince Mohammed bin Nayef were taken from their homes early on Friday by royal guards after being accused of treason, the Wall Street Journal reported citing unnamed sources. The pair were allegedly plotting to oust King Salman and the son he has designated to succeed him, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, it reported.

The New York Times also reported the detentions, adding that Prince Nayef’s younger brother Prince Nawaf bin Nayef had also been detained.

Saudi authorities did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

France rejects Saudi crown prince’s request to visit his $350m Versailles chateau

French authorities have rejected a request by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman to visit the Louis XIV Palace which he bought for nearly $350 million a few years ago.

According to senior political sources in France, Bin Salman wanted to spend some time in his luxurious chateau on the outskirts of Paris, however, France had reservations.

Sources explained that Bin Salman’s visit will embarrass French President Emmanuel Macron who is going through a critical period before the public opinion due to the failure of his reform projects.

Lawyers for survivors of 9/11 victims accuse Saudi authorities of targeting witnesses: Legal team also reveals that murdered journalist Jamal Khashoggi was 'potential witness' in lawsuit

A legal team representing survivors and familes of victims of the 9/11 attacks has accused Saudi authorities of trying to silence several witnesses.

An almost two-decades-old lawsuit brought to court by thousands of victims and their families accuses Saudi officials of having ties to the 11 September 2001 attacks on New York and Washington. About 3,000 people were killed.

On Wednesday, lawyers representing the families said that four of their witnesses in the case had been threatened or intimidated by alleged Saudi agents.

On those grounds, the plaintiffs' legal team requested that the identities of the witnesses in the drawn-out legal battle be protected and kept secret.

Lawyers representing the Saudi government denied the allegations of witness tampering, saying the claims were "based on hearsay within hearsay".

Webmaster's Commentary:

Holy Crud!! IF, in fact, the connection to the Kashoggi assassination and his info is allowed to be presented, and proves credible in a court of law, this could change everything; everything, of course, except the mind of a President, heck-bent on further polishing the turd of his relationship with the Saudi Dictator, Prince Bin Salman, even further at an horrific cost to the Saudi people, and specifically, the people of Yemen, who are dying every day in airstrikes hitting infants; children; women; and the medically fragile elderly; the bombing of NGOs, like Medicins Sans Frontiers, who have been forced to leave Yemen; the poisoning (possibly with weaponized cholera) of Yemen's water system, making way for a plague of cholera; and starvation, because aid ships are not allowed to dock at Yemen's primary port.

Mr. President, a WORD, PLEASE: Do you realize the extent to which you have allowed this man to jeopardize the perception of this country in the Middle East and beyond, by slavishly following his dictates in Yemen?!?!

And that is not all, Mr. President; HATE COMES FROM THE TOP ON DOWN, if you are a Christian, or a Jew, in Saudi Arabia; from that last report commissioned by the former British foreign secretary, Jeremy Hunt, in which the following statement was made: "In Saudi Arabia, the report says, school textbooks “teach pupils religious hatred and intolerance towards non-Muslims, including Christians and Jews”.

MR. PRESIDENT, AND MR. SECRETARY OF STATE, PLEASE WAKE UP, AND SMELL THE ROTTING SMELL OF RELIGIOUS INTOLERANCE HERE, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE!!

Riyadh to execute 5 teenage activists: Rights group

A Europe-based organization seeking to promote human rights in Saudi Arabia says the Riyadh regime plans to execute five Shia teenagers arrested on charges of participating in demonstrations in 2011.

The European Saudi Organization for Human Rights (ESOHR) said the Riyadh regime had arrested the youths during anti-government unrest in the country’s Shia-populated Qatif region in Eastern Province in 2011, Lebanese Al-Mayadeen reported on Tuesday, with the youngest of the group being nine years old at the time of apprehension.

The five individuals were named by the ESOHR as Ahmad Abdel al-Wahid al-Faraj, Ali Mohammad al-Biti, Mohammad Hussain al-Nimr, Ali Hassan al-Faraj, and Mohammad Essam al-Faraj.

U.N.'s Bachelet urges Saudi to release women activists, uphold rights

- U.N. human rights chief Michelle Bachelet urged Saudi Arabia on Thursday to uphold freedoms of expression and peaceful assembly and review convictions of activists, religious leaders and journalists as it prepares to host a G20 summit this year.

Bachelet, in a speech to the U.N. Human Rights Council, called on Riyadh to release several Saudi women activists jailed for demanding “reforms of discriminatory policies”.

“I also call for full transparency in the ongoing judicial proceedings, and comprehensive accountability, regarding the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi,” she added, referring to the U.S.-based journalist killed by Saudi agents at its Istanbul consulate in October 2018

Webmaster's Commentary:

Good luck on THAT, my dear!

The only way this will change, is for all Saudi women for whom it is possible, to immigrate out of the country; cause birth rates to plunge; and cause men to be unable to find wives, at any possible bride price.

That ... is the only thing which may, over time, cause the Saudi stance on women to begin to soften somewhat.

Because right now, women are considered "useful", only as creators of children for their families; and do not get me wrong, this is vital if a society is going to grow, and prosper.

But that being said, if there was ever a country where a middle eastern version of "Stepford Wives" might be possibly and potentially, already in the works, it would be Saudi Arabia, because of their government's consistent denial of basic human rights for women.

Oh, and let's not forget the potential cloning of children here, when the birth rate plunges below zero; one has to wonder if Saudi Arabia has already borrowed a page from China's gene/birth manipulation process, to produce their own version of "super babies", because women do not want to bear children, given the unbelievably restrictive set of policies by the Saudi government against women Saudi nationals.

2,500 US Troops Now Stationed in Saudi Arabia to ‘Deter’ Iran

Al-Qaeda was very publicly using the presence of US ground troops in Saudi Arabia as a recruiting tool in the period around 9/11. Suggesting that many lessons have not been learned, some 2,500 US troops are back in the kingdom, and readying for a long stay.

Hype surrounding military tensions with Iran are driving this US deployment back into the region. More and more ground troops are being sent every time there is even a little tension, nominally to “deter” Iran from attacking the Saudi kingdom.

These deployments began in earnest when Yemen’s Houthis fired at missile at Saudi oil producing regions, and the Saudis blamed Iran for it. US military tensions in Iraq led to many more troops being sent, since Iraq made clear they didn’t want more US troops there, and the US wanted them somewhere near Iran.

US hostility toward Iran isn’t getting better, so a decision to leave seems unlikely.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mr. President, a word, please; the leadership of Iran may be many things, but one of them, sir, is NOT overtly stupid; they understand that any attack directly against Saudi Arabia will translate into a US attack against it which would leave the country a radioactive puddle of oozing glass and concrete.

So who, in the region, might be the likely culprit for a false flag attack against Saudi Arabia, to be blamed against Iran?!?

In a word sir, one of your BFFs in the Middle East, and the guy who is fighting back for his political life, struggling against corruption charges, and a new election next month; and yes, that person would be... (drum roll, please) none other than Bibi Netanyahu.

And if you think, for a millisecond, Mr. President, that Netanyahu would not order such a strike, to attempt to save his own skin, you are horrifically mistaken; Netanyahu, right now is, and has been, a geopolitically wounded animal, between the corruption charges, and twice having been unable to form a new government.

Geopolitically wounded candidates are the most dangerous.

And would he inform you about such a false flag strike before it happened?!?

Mr. President, in order to inflict maximum world geopolitical shock at such an act, to be blamed ultimately on Iran, I doubt like hell this is going to happen, and you have now positioned US troops in Saudi Arabia as absolute "sitting ducks" for such an attack.

Mr. President, I care about our troops; many of them come very much from families like mine - middle class, who believe that service to their country, is an honor, which I also believe.

But sir, Israeli elections will start to be held on this Monday, 2 March
.
Please keep a close eye on your BFF Netanyahu throughout this process; his internal polls may suggest that he needs something terrifying substantive to happen pull people together to support him, and an alleged Iranian attack against Saudi Arabia may just be what he chooses, to galvanize his base around him.

Not a False Flag!

The Houthi's have destroyed the Aramco IPO. 1 or 2 more attacks like this and the House of Saud will fall and with it the US petrodollar.
This strategy is sheer genius. When the petrodollar falls, all those worthless pieces of paper will come home to the USA to roost causing a massive inflation and with that starvation and riots in the streets. The End of the US Empire is near!

In meeting with Orthodox, Trump reveals Israel advisers: His Jewish lawyers

NEW YORK (JTA) – There were a few things Donald Trump made clear when he met Thursday with a select group of Jewish reporters, almost all of them Orthodox, at his corporate offices in Manhattan.

Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly was the one who initiated Wednesday’s one-on-one powwow with Trump to mend fences, not him. He’s a great friend of Israel. He has many Orthodox Jewish friends, including his chief lawyer, Jason D. Greenblatt. And he considers himself a very loyal boss.

But in a 20-minute question-and-answer session that touched on religious liberty in the workplace, U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East and federal education tax credits, Trump offered scant details.

On some substantive policy questions, the Republican front-runner for president didn’t answer at all, instead delegating the question to Greenblatt, a real estate attorney from Teaneck, New Jersey — one of two people he said he’d appoint as his White House Israel policy advisers.
