ICC responds to Israel's 'misinformation campaign' targeting its war crimes probe

The International Criminal Court (ICC) on Friday responded to "smear campaigns" carried out by Israeli media outlets against the court's probe into alleged human rights violations.

ICC Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda affirmed the court's conduct, saying misinformation and smear campaigns did not change its work on the Palestine case.

"Fact: my Office is executing its mandate concerning Palestine situation with utmost professionalism, independence and objectivity in strict conformity with the Rome Statute," Bensouda was quoted as saying by ICC's twitter account.

Israel Mulls Response to Alleged Iranian Cyber Attack That Breaks 'All the Codes of War'

Tel Aviv has accused Tehran of targeting Israel in cyber attacks "on a daily basis", despite Iran denying the accusations and insisting that the country "does not engage in cyber warfare".

The Israeli "high-level security cabinet" has reportedly condemned an "Iranian cyber attack" on Tel Aviv's civil water infrastructure, according to the Times of Israel. The participants of the meeting were reportedly forced to sign confidentiality forms.

The alleged attack in question that reportedly took place in late April was described by one of Israeli officials as a "significant escalation" by Iran that "crossed a red line" as it targeted civil facilities. Officials note that the attack did little damage, despite minor problems reported in local councils.

“This is an attack that goes against all the codes of war. Even from the Iranians we didn’t expect something like this", the official said, quoted by the report.

Colonial Settlers Uproot Hundreds of Grapevines In Bethlehem

Israeli colonial settlers in the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem, reportedly uprooted hundreds of newly-planted grapevines, south of the city.

Head of the Palestinian Office for Fighting Israeli Settlements and Israel’s Apartheid wall in Bethlehem, Hassan Breega, told media outlets that Israeli settlers from the nearby colonial illegal Israeli settlement of Ephrat, uprooted around 450 newly-planted grapevines, owned by local resident, Ibrahim Sobaih.

Breega further noted that local farmer, Sobaih, has frequently been exposed to Israeli settlers’ attacks, with Israeli troops guarding the illegal settlers.

Recently, Israeli troops, along with armed Israeli colonial settlers, have reportedly attacked a number of Palestinian-owned farm lands in the Alkhudor town, on the outskirts of the Bethlehem district.

Israeli official offered Trump campaign ‘critical intell’ to avoid defeat in 2016 — FBI doc

Here’s a delicious story that is not likely to get any pickup from the American mainstream obsessed with Russian interference: evidence that Trump’s friend Roger Stone was in touch with high Israeli officials in the runup to the 2016 election to discuss efforts to help Trump win. One official says “we have critical intell” that can help Trump avoid “defeat.”

The declassified FBI affidavit is a smoking gun insmuch as it reveals an apparent willingness on the part of high Israeli officials, including those close to the “PM” — Benjamin Netanyahu — to interfere in the election on behalf of Donald Trump. At least one of these officials met with Trump in July 2016 at the St. Regis in New York.

Israeli charged with stoning Palestinian mother to death allowed back to West Bank settlement

An Israeli court district has allowed a young Israeli settler, suspected of killing a Palestinian mother of eight in her car in 2018, to go back to the settlement, Israeli media reported on Sunday.

The 47-year-old Palestinian, Aisha Mohammed Rabi, died of injuries sustained after Israeli settlers threw stones at her car at a checkpoint near Nablus in the northern West Bank, also injuring her husband.

While there were multiple suspects in the case, all suspects were later released, with the exception of the unnamed minor, who was indicted for manslaughter after traces of his DNA were found on the stone, according to Haaretz.

The indicted adolescent, who can't be publicly named under Israeli law, was released on house arrest in his grandparents' home.

AIPAC Finally Gets The Best Of Ilhan Omar

It looks like AIPAC, the most influential pro-Israel organization in the U.S., has gotten to Rep Ilhan Omar.

The Muslim-American congresswoman who had been targeted by the lobbying behemoth a year ago for her “anti-Semitic” comments about “dual loyalty” in regards to members of Congress supporting a ban on American’s boycotting Israel businesses (BDS), has now signed onto a typically loaded AIPAC letter calling for the extension of a UN arms embargo against Iran.

The move has her supporters and political observers scratching their heads. The wider sanctions regime against Tehran, by all reports, was crushing the Iranian people long before the COVID virus began spreading through the country. Oil revenues, imports of basic necessities, all have been brought to a grinding halt thanks to the Trump Administration’s “maximum pressure” campaign. Now Iranians are struggling for life-saving equipment and medicines in the wake of a pandemic.

Israeli Police Compile Car Movement Info in Massive Secret Database, Report Claims

The project, known as the 'Hawk-Eye' program, was said to have begun secret operations in 2014, collecting data on Israeli-owned vehicles by using smart cameras distributed across all parts of the Middle Eastern country.

Israel’s police forces are gathering a huge secret database on the movement of cars belonging to Israeli citizens, including those not suspected of any wrongdoing, across the country without clear oversight, The Times of Israel reported on Wednesday, citing a local news outlet.

According to the report, police collect video of cars recorded by means of smart LPR cameras capable of identifying license plates to determine whether the vehicle is stolen or if its driver’s license is expired.

Palestine to cancel all Israel, US deals if annexation plot goes ahead: Abbas

President Mahmoud Abbas says Palestine will nullify all agreements with the United States and Israel if Tel Aviv annexes any part of the occupied West Bank, urging the international community to block attempts by the regime to exploit the coronavirus outbreak and steal more Palestinian land.

“We have informed all international parties that should Israel take this step, we will be absolved of all obligations, agreements and understandings with Israel and the US administration,” he said on Monday in an address to a virtual meeting of the leaders of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Contact Group.

The remarks came shortly after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party submitted a bill to the parliament (Knesset) that calls for the imposition of Tel Aviv’s “sovereignty” over the Palestinian regions of the Jordan Valley, the northern Dead Sea area and the occupied West Bank.

With a coalition finally in place, the Israeli public expects the newly established political team to deliver on a number of fronts, primarily in tackling the raging pandemic and its dire economic repercussions as well as stabilising the country's security and improving its international image.

After almost two years of unprecedented deadlock, numerous crises, and three elections Israel finally has a government.

Signed between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former rival-turned-ally Benny Gantz on Monday night, the agreement stipulates the division of power between the two, with Netanyahu to occupy the PM's chair first and Gantz taking his seat a year and a half later.

Former national security officials say Democrats should oppose Israeli occupation, settlement expansion in platform

More than 30 former national security officials asked the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to use its 2020 platform to push for a fair solution to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians.

In a letter obtained by HuffPost, the former officials said the party and its nominee should oppose unilateral Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Israeli settlements in the Palestinian territory. They said previous platforms have “rightly” committed to Israel’s security but didn’t recognize Palestinian rights.

“Those platforms have, however, also been nearly silent on the rights of Palestinians, on Israeli actions that undermine those rights and the prospects for a two-state solution, and on the need for security for both peoples,” the letter reads.

A Russian publication reported this week that the Russian Armed Forces have deployed their Resonance radar system in an area near the Israeli border. According to the NZIV publication, the Russian Resonance radar was identified in two locations in the eastern Mediterranean region, including an area along the Israeli-Egyptian border.

Last year, the think tank and reputable military analysis source GlobalSecurity.org wrote: "the Egyptian Resonance-NE radar tracks the movement of all objects in the airspace not only over Egypt, but also Israel and Syria. Trump Welcomes Israel’s Illegal Plan to Annex West Bank Amid Growing Anger

The US announced it is willing to recognise and support Israel’s annexation of parts of the occupied West Bank shortly after Israel announced its illegal plan.

The step was welcomed by the Trump administration, which has a track record for supporting Israel’s illegal settlements and plans for annexation.

Likud Files Knesset Bill to Annex Occupied Palestinian Territories

Member of the Knesset May Golan (Likud) on Sunday submitted a bill calling for imposing Israel’s sovereignty on the occupied territories of the Jordan Valley, the northern Dead Sea area and the West Bank.

According to Israel’s Channel 7, economy minister and MK Eli Cohen (Likud) also joined the initiative and expressed his support for it.

“This is an area that is a political, security, and economic asset, and there are thousands of Zionist Israelis and true pioneers who are an integral part of the State of Israel [there],” Golan claimed.

“The bill is intended to rectify the existing situation and end all historical injustice. I have no doubt that there is a broad consensus in all parts of the Knesset that supports the proposal and it is time to implement it,” she added.

The Trump Regime’s Latest Diabolical Anti-Iran Scheme. With the Support of Bibi

US domestic and geopolitical diabolical aims are humanity’s greatest threat, a nation hostile to virtually everything just societies hold dear — with super-weapons able to extinguish life on earth and willingness to use them.

China and Iran are in the eye of the Trump regime’s storm — Beijing for its growing economic, industrial, technological, political and military strength.

In Iran’s case, it’s for its vast hydrocarbon resources the US seeks control over, along with wanting Israel’s main regional rival state neutralized — despite no threat to any nations posed by the Islamic Republic.

Machiavellian Pompeo’s latest anti-Iran scheme reinvented history.

Defying reality, he falsely claims the Trump regime never left the JCPOA.

Despite unlawfully abandoning the Security Council adopted agreement, making it binding international and US constitutional law, Pompeo turned truth on its head, claiming Washington remains a “participant state.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

The real problem for the Trump administration, is that the embargo is over as of Friday, 23 October, which gives it a very steep curve of 11 days before the US elections on 3 November.

IF some kind of military activity by the US will be focused against Iran, my suggestion is that it will be far sooner, to be able to influence US elections in Trump's favor.

And of course, let's not forget the 3,000 lb gorilla, restfully draped over the Bosendorfer Grand Piano in the living room; that, my friends, is Russia.

Iran won't be alone, of the US attacks it, Russian official says.

It would be horrific for the US to go to war against Iran, only to find itself at war with Russia as well.

And please remember, as the world has witnessed in Syria; Russian military equipment does precisely what its manufacturers say it will do, why there is such a demand, globally, for these products.

And the "best of the best" the US has to offer?!?
Five F-35 issues have been downgraded, but they remain unsolved

Frankly, were I an American military fighter pilot, I would be more than reluctant to fly one of these birds, understanding the gravity of these unresolved issues.

Israel Behind Air Strikes in Syria Directed against Hezbollah. “Greater Israel” in the Making?

Tensions have worsened in the Middle East. Apparently, the Israeli government is promoting an escalation of violence in Syria with the aim of expelling any trace of Iranian presence from the country, leading to the collapse of relations between Tehran and Tel Aviv. On April 28, Israel’s Defense Minister, Naftali Bennet, made a public statement in which he suggested that he was behind an air strike against pro-Iranian forces in Syria. Still, Naftali made it clear in his speech that there is a focus by the Israeli armed forces to completely destroy the Iranian presence in Syria, not stopping the attacks until the objective is achieved.

Webmaster's Commentary:

"Even now, the Iranian regime and its proxies are working in an effort to harm the State of Israel and its citizens”.

Defense Minister Bennet, can you actually explain precisely what you mean by that last statement?!? Can you please quantify what you mean when you say that "The Iranian regime and its proxies are working in an effort to harm the State of Israel, and its citizens?!?

Because, sir, I will tell you, and I have observed the Iranian government since the fall of the US-imposed Shah of Iran, and that is, that the Iranian leadership may be many things, but stupid is not one of them.

Iranians do not want war with Israel; but Israel has decided to invade the sovereign country of Syria, and what the Iranians are doing here, has to do with supporting Syria's sovereignty.

And I would further politely suggest, sir, that Iran is not an "existential threat" to Israel; the threat, sir, and we both know this to be the case, is economic in nature, rather than existential.

Netanyahu could get on a plane to Tehran tomorrow, and do something amazing; create a peace and economic development plan with Iran, which would include all kinds of economic cooperation, and military peace between the two countries, but he won't.

And why is that?!?

Because he, just as does the President and his advisors, want their people afraid, of whoever the "enemy du jour" is. Fear is debilitating, and clouds the ability to think rationally, so that any nonsense fed to fearful people, will be believed, without question.

I, frankly, prefer to think, and be both reasonable and logical, rather than be fearful: and so do a great number of your brother and sister Israelis, sir.

You need to remember that, in future statements of this nature.

Israel’s unity government ushers in endgame for two states

It took one year, three elections and a global pandemic, but Israel finally has a new government, and this time, it is one with a broader mandate than any other in recent memory.

This is mostly thanks to Benny Gantz who repeatedly said that he would not join a government led by Benjamin Netanyahu, only to join a Netanyahu-led government at the third time of asking.

He did so under the pretext of creating an emergency government to deal with the coronavirus pandemic. But this is not a government established to deal with any emergency. This is a government with the specific brief of determining when and over what further areas of territory occupied in 1967 Israel will start applying its sovereignty.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Absoflippinglutely unbelievable; and who will champion any peaceful, legitimate claims of the Palestinian people?!?

Apparently, nobody.

US Embassy: Israeli West Bank Annexation Can Move Forward Without A Palestinian State

The recently established US Embassy in Jerusalem (moved from Tel Aviv last year as part of Trump's plan) has confirmed that the world will soon see the most controversial element of Trump's peace plan put into effect: Israeli annexation over broad swathes of the West Bank, particularly the Jordan Valley.

“As we have made consistently clear, we are prepared to recognize Israeli actions to extend Israeli sovereignty and the application of Israeli law to areas of the West Bank that the [Trump peace plan] foresees as being part of the State of Israel,” a top US Embassy official told the Times of Israel on Friday.

The statement made clear that "Israeli actions" will be validated with or without recognition of a Palestinian state, something which on paper at least Trump's 'deal of the century' offered.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Just terrific; President Trump embraces' Netanyahu's "vision" for a non-two state solution, and applauds brisk annexation of the West Bank, and Jordan Valley.

So, what will be the status of Palestinians still stuck in those areas, with utterly no place to go?!?

Will they be granted some kind of at least "token citizenship", or something horrifically worse, like the "
bantustans" of apartheid South Africa?!?

Because, if the Israeli government thinks that they can get away with something like this, with Trump's sincere support for such a process, they will at least try.

I would like to remind all our readers of what this was like for Black South Africans, in apartheid South Africa:

Life in Apartheid-Era South Africa

The article goes on to state:

"South Africa's apartheid is a familiar concept the world over. But what did it actually look like?

Established in 1948 under the racialist National Party, apartheid not only meant separate and inferior public services, benches and building entrances for non-whites. It also stripped South African blacks of their citizenship (placing them into tribally-based bantustans instead) and abolished all non-white political representation."

To the Palestinian, and other Arab leaders in Israel; have you actually thought about how peaceful Palestinian representation will happen, when Israel completely prevents the establishment of a two-state solution?!?!?
Because you had better start thinking about that, right the heck now, because it appears that within a short window of three months, this is precisely what is going to happen.

‘Israeli helicopters’ fire missiles at Syrian military sites – state media

Israeli helicopters attacked a number of military positions in southern Syria with missiles, Syrian state media reported, noting the strikes inflicted “limited material damage."

The aircraft bombed sites in the Quneitra and Daraa provinces early on Friday morning after approaching from the occupied Golan Heights, firing some five missiles, according to the Jerusalem Post. A number of unconfirmed reports said the targets included militias allied to Damascus, such as Hezbollah, in addition to the Syrian military.

Finland Blocks 100-Tonne Load of Pesticide-Tainted Israeli Oranges

Bromopropylate found in Israeli oranges is a pesticide used in repelling ticks and mites found in citrus fruit. It has been banned throughout the EU since 2011.

Following intensified control of oranges imported from Israel, Finland has discovered the presence of bromopropylate, a pesticide banned in the EU, and blocked a 100-tonne load, national broadcaster Yle reported.

In total, eight of the 16 examined consignments were rejected by the Finnish Customs Authorities. The rest were confirmed as safe for consumers and were green-lit for sale.

“We examine the first consignments that arrive in Finland always at the start of a new harvest season. As we discovered problems with the consignments, we decided to continue with controls until the end of the orange harvest season in Israel. Most likely we will also conduct intensified controls during the next harvest season as well”, Jonna Neffing, head of product safety for Finnish Customs stated in a release on Wednesday.

Trump Regime Aims to Suppress Iranian Truth-Telling

US hostility toward Iran is all about its sovereign independence — free from US control.

It’s also because of its large hydrocarbon resources the US seeks control over, along with wanting Israel’s main rival neutralized.

Hostile US policy toward Iran reached a unprecedented level under Trump and hardliners surrounding him.Earlier the Obama regime falsely claimed that the US can “seize any .com, .net and .org domain name because the companies that have the contracts to administer them are based on United States soil.”

Cyberspace is the last frontier of press freedom. Without it, the Internet would be like cable TV, controlled by corporate giants.

Truth-telling would be marginalized and silenced, speech and press freedoms consigned to the dustbin of history — where things are heading without redoubtable resistance.

Republicans and Dems are hostile to free and open expression.

Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu says he is ‘confident’ US will support West Bank annexation

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday said he was “confident” he will be able to annex large parts of the occupied West Bank this summer, with support from the US.

Speaking to an online gathering of evangelical Christian supporters of Israel, Netanyahu said President Donald Trump’s Mideast plan envisions turning over Israel’s dozens of settlements, as well as the strategic Jordan Valley, to Israeli control.

“A couple of months from now, I’m confident that that pledge will be honoured, that we will be able to celebrate another historic moment in the history of Zionism,” Netanyahu said.

Israeli annexation of West Bank territory would be highly controversial, drawing widespread international condemnations and extinguishing any lingering hopes of establishing a viable independent Palestinian state alongside Israel

Webmaster's Commentary:

This takeover will be viewed as a "clear and present danger" to any hope of a viable peace in the Middle East; unfortunately, President Trump is so "enraptured" with this particular BFF in the Middle East, that he most probably will not even whisper a hint of concern when it happens.

‘Destroying the Knesset’: Thousands protest in Tel Aviv against coalition deal

Some 2,000 people protested in Tel Aviv’s Rabin Square Saturday night as part of the latest “black flag” demonstration against what they say is an erosion of Israeli democracy under Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s leadership. Speakers alleged that the new coalition deal threatens to trample Israel’s quasi-constitutional Basic Laws and destroys the authority of the Knesset.

The protesters adhered to social distancing regulations aimed at stemming the coronavirus outbreak, as per Health Ministry guidelines, maintaining two meters between them.
It was the second such protest in less than a week.

The “black flag” movement’s name comes from demonstrators pinning black flags to their vehicles and homes to symbolize what they believe is a danger to Israel’s democracy posed by Netanyahu’s continued rule.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Without reading the Hebrew press in English, were one a reader of American blogs and papers, one would not have even known that such a protest had actually happened over this last weekend in Israel, in response to Gantz's "cave-in" to Netanyahu.

US Beefs Up Gunship Presence In Gulf Ready To Back Trump's Iran 'Red Line'

American forces in the Persian Gulf have greatly bolstered their ability to respond to Iran at a moment President Trump has renewed trading threats and barbs with the Islamic Republic, ordering the US Navy "to shoot down and destroy any and all Iranian gunboats if they harass our ships at sea."

This includes the Pentagon bolstering its AC-130 gunships and Apache attack helicopters to target and destroy small surface threats in the Arabian Sea. Tehran has meanwhile responded with its own threats to 'destroy' American vessels of course.

It was apparently this beefed up presence that led to the April 15 confrontation about which Trump was responding by ordering destruction of boats that "harass" American vessels.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Just because something would be the most ham-fistedly, pig-headedly stupid thing the US government could do is, unfortunately, no guarantee that it will not do it.

US elections are to be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020; that is only 160 days from today; and between the Dementocrats' "race to the bottom" with their Candidate appearing to suffer from both dementia AND a potential history of sexual predation, "Sleepy Joe" Biden, and President Trump's fumbling and bumbling on Covid 19 and the shutdown that has destroyed huge swathes of the the American economy, God only knows how this campaign is going to unfold.

But I can tell you one thing for certain; Team Trump desperately needs a win, of some kind, and I am hoping (and praying) that a war against Iran is NOT what they are looking at right now, as their "pre-election" win."

Russia's Putin has been very clear, that if the US goes into Iran, they will most probably be facing the Russian military as well, and as we have seen very clearly in Syria, their weaponry does work as advertised, which cannot be said with a completely straight face, regarding some of the US's most costly weapons programs.

The F-35 still has hundreds of problems the Pentagon has no plans on fixing

"Driving The Gringos In The White House Crazy": Iran & Venezuela Deepen Sanctions-Busting Cooperation

Two so-called 'rogue states' recently targeted for US-imposed regime change are helping each other fight coronavirus as well as Washington-led sanctions.

Late last week it was revealed Venezuela received a huge boost in the form of oil refinery materials and chemicals to fix the catalytic cracking unit at the 310,000 barrels-per-day Cardon refinery, essential to the nation's gas supply.

This as a fuel and food shortage crisis has driven protests and clashes with police, especially in hard-hit rural areas, over the past month.

“Thanks to the support of our allies in the Islamic Republic of Iran... We will overcome our difficulties,” Erling Rojas, vice minister for refining and petrochemicals in Venezuela’s Oil Ministry, stated when the much-needed refinery parts arrived last Thursday.

He further underscored in colorfully provocative rhetoric that Iran’s support is “driving the gringos in the White House crazy.”

Webmaster's Commentary:

What did the Trump administration think, that both governments were going to roll over and play dead, as their responses to these sanctions?!?

I am very much reminded of a one-liner from the American comedian Ron White, which is: "You can't fix stupid!"

And unfortunately, the "stupid" when it comes to Iran, is that President Trump, and his cabinet, are, collectively, pathologically incapable of seeing Iran, except through the jaundiced eyes, and equally jaundiced perception, of one of his BFFs in the Middle East, Israel's Prime Minister, Benyamin Netanyahu.

The other bit of "stupid" comes from ignoring a statement made by one of Putin's confidantes a year ago last summer to their Iranian counterparts at a summit last summer: Iran will not be alone, if the US attacks.

The statement was made by Zamir Kabulov, the Foreign Ministry’s special envoy for Asian countries including Iran, at a Russian-Iranian policy forum in Moscow\ last Summer, and reported by the Moscow Times.

There is one thing of which I am very certain; Kabulov would never have made the statement without Putin's absolute backing: if the US government attacks Iran, we will most probably be facing Russian military in Iran as well.

And Putin will move heaven and earth to insure that any US invasion of Iran.... will have precisely the same outcome as did the US invasion of Vietnam.

Israel stops coronavirus tests in Gaza

Israeli soldiers conducting coronavirus tests in the Gaza Strip have been ordered to stop by Defence Minister Naftali Bennett due to coordination issues, an Israeli newspaper has reported. According to Maariv, the Israeli government cancelled the initiative and claimed that Bennett himself was not aware of the army initiative due to a “lack of communication”.

The initiative lasted for two days and only 100 samples were tested at one of the army’s bases on the fringe of the besieged Gaza Strip. Soldiers had announced last week that they would carry out 50 coronavirus tests per day on samples from the Gaza Strip at the army laboratory in Tzrifin. The lab is also conducting tests for soldiers suspected of having the deadly virus. As of 15 April, the total number of infections in Gaza stood at 13.

The order was only the latest round in a legal battle launched by the Institute for Research: Middle Eastern Policy (IRmep), which in August of 2019 sued the IRS under the Freedom of Information Act. IRmep seeks the release of documents "related to the ongoing, long term laundering of tax-exempt donations by American donors through charitable organizations to which the IRS has issued determination letters, into illegal Israeli settlements, thereby directly and indirectly engaging in ethnic cleansing, illegal land seizures, and other expeditions against a friendly nation in violation of 18 U.S. Code § 960 and other applicable statutes and treaties."

Syria: Liberating Golan Heights is a priority

Syria’s representative to the UN, Dr Bashar Al-Jaafari, has reiterated the Arab Republic’s right to reclaim the occupied-Golan Heights, adding that regaining it up to the 4 June 1967 line is guaranteed by international law and remains a priority for the Syrian government. The territory was seized from Syria towards the end of the Six Day War and later officially annexed it in 1981.

“The UN, under pressure by some permanent members at Security Council, continues to fail to put its resolutions, relevant to ending the Israeli occupation of the Arab lands, into effect, particularly resolutions No. /242, 338 and 497/,” Al-Jaafari added in a speech to the UN Security Council on the situation in the Middle East via video.

Turkey condemns Israeli plan to annex occupied West Bank

Turkey has condemned Israel’s plan to annex the occupied West Bank, calling it “an extremely dangerous mindset aimed at extorting occupied Palestinian lands.” The spokesman of the Foreign Ministry in Ankara, Hami Aksoy, made his comment in a written statement issued today.

“We believe that such grave steps, which would undermine international law and wound the common conscience of humanity, would not be accepted or supported by any member of the international community who has a sense of justice and responsibility,” explained Aksoy.

EU backs off warning to Israel over West Bank annexation

The European Union has apparently backed off its threat to impose consequences on Israel if it moves to annex more occupied West Bank land.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Blue and White party leader Benny Gantz reached an agreement to form a coalition after a year of political stalemate and three general elections.

The coalition agreement includes a commitment that the Israeli government and parliament will, from July, proceed with votes to annex large parts of the West Bank.

Israeli fifth column in Virginia funnels resources to Israel

The Virginia Israel Advisory Board is little more than a mechanism set up to carry out licensed robbery of Virginia state resources being run by a cabal of local Jewish Americans and Israelis to benefit their co-religionists in Israel.
The VIAB is unique because it is actually part of the Virginia state government. It is funded by the Commonwealth of Virginia and is able to access funds from other government agencies to support Israeli businesses. It is staffed by Israelis and Jewish Americans drawn from what has been described as the “Israel advocacy ecosystem”

US to Suffer Heavy Casualties in Persian Gulf in Case of Any War: Analyst

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A Canadian political analyst praised Iran's improved military situation after the IRGC successfully launched the country’s first military satellite into the orbit, and said US will suffer heavy casualties in case of any war in the Persian Gulf.

Taliano: The COVID-19 crisis is a manufactured crisis. The US economy is crashing and police state measures are ramping up. Poverty in the US is climbing exponentially. Trump appears to be trying to put people back to work, to lift the lockdown, but other forces are at play which are prolonging the crisis. Will he seek diversions? Yes. Will he blame other countries for the crisis? Yes.

New report details how the Israeli occupation is exploiting the COVID-19 crisis

Since the coronavirus outbreak shut down large swaths of Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory early last month, countless reports of Israeli violations of Palestinian rights have surfaced during the pandemic.

From continued home demolitions and displacement, arrest raids, violent confrontations with Palestinian communities, and settler attacks, Israeli authorities have been criticized for ramping up their occupation activities in violation of global health recommendations.

The Who Profits research center has released a new report entitled Viral Occupation, detailing how the Israeli occupation is compounding the devastating impact of COVID-19 on the occupied Palestinian territory.

The Occupation and the Pandemic: The Coronavirus and the Conditions of Palestinian Workers

This past month Israeli soldiers dumped a Palestinian worker at a checkpoint on the border of the West Bank, shivering from fever and barely able to breathe. According to Middle East Eye, he “had been showing signs of the coronavirus over the past four days, and was recently tested for the virus. But before the man, allegedly a resident of Nablus, could receive his test results, his Israeli employer reportedly called the authorities, who picked him up and dropped him on the other side of the Beit Sira checkpoint, which connects central Israel and the occupied West Bank.” “It’s like we are slaves to them,” says a local Palestinian, “They use us when they need us, and when they are finished, they throw us away like trash.” Since the crisis began Israeli soldiers have actively obstructed the emergency response for Palestinians by shutting down multiple clinics and continuing their practice of arbitrary house demolitions.

Netanyahu/Gantz Unity Deal… Safeguarding Israel’s “Democracy”. Annexation of West Bank Ongoing

A weeks earlier agreement between them collapsed, a new unity deal struck.

Netanyahu prevailed. Gantz’s surrender to his demands split his Blue and White (B &W) party.

It may have ended his chance to become prime minister, his political career perhaps ruined by reportedly agreeing to most Netanyahu demands — a Gantz Versailles as things now stand.

On Monday night, capitulation was formalized, a “national emergency government” formed, ending over a year of political stalemate.

Gantz tweeted the following:

“We prevented fourth elections. We’ll safeguard democracy” (that’s nonexistent under apartheid rule).

“We’ll fight the coronavirus and look out for all Israeli citizens. We have a national emergency government.”

Netanyahu remains prime minister at least for the next 18 months, Gantz to serve as deputy PM and war minister with veto power over who’ll serve as Knesset speaker, Gantz ally Gabi Ashkenazi (another former IDF chief) to be foreign minister.

Israel Kills Nine in Attack Near Syria’s Historic Palmyra

At least nine people were killed Tuesday in Israeli attacks on a Syrian military base near the historic city of Palmyra. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported the death toll, saying six of the slain were “not Syrian,” but were believed to be Lebanese.

Israeli attacks in Syria are common enough, and often target foreign Shi’ites, who irrespective of their country of origin will be labeled “Iranian” by Israeli officials. The Syrian government confirmed the attack, saying they’d intercepted several Israeli missiles.

Palmyra is not a major site of combat lately, so it’s not clear why Israel would attack it in the first place. Palmyra is an important historical site, and after years of complaining of damage ISIS might do there, its likely there will be a backlash if Israel damages anything as well.

Webmaster's Commentary:

One has to wonder just how long Russia's President Putin will allow these Israeli targeted assassinations to continue; I would like to hope, not much longer.

Israeli Lab Claiming to Have COVID-19 Vaccine Is an IDF Biological Warfare Research Facility

Last month it was reported that scientists at the Israel Institute for Biological Research (IIBR) in Ness Ziona had developed a vaccine for COVID-19, though it still required clinical trials.

Whatever the merits of this claim are, there are striking ethical, historic and public health reasons to reject any “cure” coming from the IIBR. The laboratory is a highly secretive biological warfare unit of the Israeli military that is civilian in name only.

Israeli settlers unleash cattle on Palestinian-owned farmlands

Israeli colonial settlers unleashed their cattle, on Wednesday, onto Palestinian-owned farmlands in the northern Alghour area of the Jordan Valley, in the West Bank. Local legal activist, Aref Daraghma, told Palestinian Wafa News Agency that tens of cows were released onto farmlands of wheat and barley, in the Umm al-Qaba village in the Alghour area. The legal activist believed that those cattle, which belong to Israeli colonists, living nearby, have been herded excessively, causing large quantities of wheat and barley to be destroyed. Palestinian farmlands have recently been frequently exposed to attacks by nearby illegal Israeli settlers in the Alghour area of the Jordan Valley, which is considered to be a rich farming region.

Unity deal allows PM to begin advancing West Bank annexation from July 1

The unity government agreement inked on Monday by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz will allow Israel to initiate legislation to annex large parts of the West Bank starting in the beginning of July.

According to clause 29 of the deal, Netanyahu “will be able to bring the agreement reached with the US on the application of sovereignty [in the West Bank]… for the approval of the cabinet and/or the Knesset starting July 1, 2020.”

Setting out two legislative paths to enact annexation, the deal appears to provide Netanyahu with an alternative route if he fails to gain a majority for annexation in the cabinet, where some half of the ministers will be Blue and White members. It is more likely to pass in the Knesset given that the right-wing Likud, Yamina, Yisrael Beytenu, United Torah Judaism and Shas parties, which all have voiced support for annexation, hold a majority there.

US notified Israel about coronavirus in mid-November: Israeli TV

An Israeli TV network claims that US intelligence agencies knew of an emerging coronavirus outbreak in China and gave Israel an advance warning in mid-November 2019, more than a month before clusters of infection in China started to be globally reported.

US intelligence agencies had become aware of the outbreak as it spread early on in central China’s Wuhan City, Israel’s i24 news website cited a report by Israeli broadcaster Channel 12 as saying on Thursday.

The agencies decided to warn US allies, such as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) countries and Israel, after initially passing the information on to the White House, “which did not deem it of interest,” according to the report.

The report did not specify when US intelligence agencies allegedly first learned of the coronavirus outbreak before notifying Israel in November.

Despite pleas by the United Nations and international humanitarian organisations to suspend violence, at least temporarily during the coronavirus pandemic, the Libyan civil war continues as usual.

Following an attack last Monday, water supply was cut to more than two million people in Tripoli and nearby towns. Now fierce battles are raging to the west of the Libyan capital.

The conflict between the two major rival factions is fuelled by increased international intervention and a constant supply of weapons, in blatant violation of UN sanctions and an arms embargo.

On one side stands the Tripoli-based and UN-recognised Government of National Accord (GNA), led by the 60-year-old Fayez al-Sarraj, an architect by profession.

Israeli neglect fuels coronavirus in East Jerusalem

Palestinians in occupied East Jerusalem face the prospect of a major coronavirus outbreak, fueled and exacerbated by Israeli neglect.

Despite repeated warnings from health professionals and even Israel’s mayor of Jerusalem Moshe Leon, Israel has done little to prevent an outbreak.

What makes the situation even worse is no one has an accurate picture of how widespread infections are in Palestinian neighborhoods.

“Of increasing concern is the lack of information regarding cases in East Jerusalem, as these are not covered by the Palestinian Ministry of Health and are not disaggregated in the overall figures by the Israeli authorities,” the UN humanitarian coordination agency OCHA said on Tuesday.

There are about 300 confirmed cases in the West Bank, outside Jerusalem, while Israel has recorded more than 12,000 cases.

US and Israel team up to thwart war crimes probes

The US secretary of state’s threats to sanction two employees working for the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court and their families last month may have been the opening salvoes of a new US-Israel war against the justice body in The Hague.

Both states currently face the embarrassing specter of war crimes investigations by the court – an unprecedented challenge to their impunity. In response, they aim to disempower the court by preventing it from exercising jurisdiction in countries that are not state parties to the Rome Statute, the treaty on which the court was founded.

Should the US and Israel succeed, it would be a significant blow to the court’s independent mandate and purpose as a court of last resort for the victims of the world’s worst human rights abusers.

Any company that has operations in the U.S. and employs workers there can apply under the $2 trillion CARES Business Assistance Program that was passed at the end of March. Will EU and pandemic pave way for Israeli global surveillance?

The coronavirus pandemic is a priceless opportunity for governments and spy firms to expand their reach into people’s lives.

Public health authorities say effective contact tracing will be crucial to ending broad lockdowns and quickly halting new outbreaks of the virus, at least until a vaccine is developed.

That means surveillance technologies promising to quickly identify anyone exposed to the virus may indeed find a global market. The danger is that this kind of intrusive surveillance will become permanent.

One firm looking to capitalize on this opportunity is Israel’s notorious NSO Group.

This is the company that produces malware called Pegasus that can be surreptitiously inserted onto a target’s mobile phone.

Israeli Settlers Flood Palestinian Crops with Waste Water in Hebron

Several armed Israeli colonial settlers reportedly caused flooding of Palestinian-owned grape farms, on Monday, in north of the occupied West Bank city of Hebron.

Local Palestinian media activist, Mohammad Awwad, told media outlets that for the second time in a week, several armed settlers from the nearby illegal colonial settlement of Gush Etzion, flooded grape farm lands in the Beit Ummar village, with large quantities of waste water, causing grape trees to flood, causing damage.

Awwad quoted grape farmers from the Palestinian families of Sabarna and Awwad, as saying that armed Israeli settlers have been intentionally flooding their farm lands with large quantities of waste water, over the past few years, causing a great deal of financial losses, due to damage of their grape crops.

Mossad False Flag Attacks on Jews

Even though distracted by the havoc resulting from the coronavirus, the United States and much of Europe is engaged in a frenzied search for anti-Semitism and anti-Semites so that what the media and chattering class are regarding as the greatest of all crimes and criminals can finally be extirpated completely. To be sure, there have recently been some horrific instances of ethnically or religiously motivated attacks on synagogues and individual Jews, but, as is often the case, however, quite a lot of the story is either pure spin or politically motivated. A Jewish student walking on a college campus who walks by protesters objecting to Israel’s behavior can claim to feel threatened and the incident is recorded as anti-Semitism, for example, and slurs written on the sides of buildings or grave stones, not necessarily the work of Jew-haters, are similarly categorized. In one case in Israel in 2017, the two street swastika artists were Jews.

Settler attacks rise by 78 percent amid pandemic

There has been a sharp uptick in Israeli settler violence against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Even after UN Secretary-General António Guterres called for a global ceasefire to obstruct the spread of the pandemic, Israel killed two Palestinians, including a child, and increased its attacks.

Israel continued its “military raids into the West Bank, conducted widespread arrests and administrative detentions, allowed for serious spikes in settler violence and continued its draconian closure of the Gaza Strip,” the Palestinian rights organization Al Haq has stated.

In the last two weeks of March, the number of settler attacks on Palestinians was 78 percent higher than usual, according to the UN monitoring group OCHA.

War-Torn Yemen Confirms First COVID-19 Case, Official Says Brace For 'Millions'

Throughout five years of war Yemen has been considered by the UN and health agencies to be the 'world's worst humanitarian disaster' — but few Americans have heard much about the war or its over 100,000 dead, including tens of thousands of civilians, given that it's the US-Saudi coalition doing the bombing.

But now Yemen is about to rip back into the headlines, given the first confirmed COVID-19 case in the country, with health officials fearing "one million" could be infected if the outbreak takes hold in the war-torn country.

This as already some 25 million civilians are in dire need of humanitarian aid, including basic food, medicines, and other staples. The Saudis have essentially imposed a complete land, sea and air blockade of the country for years. Its health system also long ago collapsed.

Webmaster's Commentary:

As I type this, there was a news flash in the Presstitute Non-Media from yesterday which got nearly zero traction, and the headline read: Saudi royals hit by COVID-19; King, Crown Prince in isolation. Any infected staff members will now be treated at a less elite hospital to save room for royals.

Please remember; Saudi royalty will be treated brilliantly, and their staffs, at least well, and with any and everything known to help them recover, and ease their suffering.

But once this gets hold of the Yemeni population, the Yemeni people, suffering from underlying medical conditions as malnutrition; cholera; and with infants; children; women and the medically fragile elderly maimed for life by US/Saudi bombing sorties, and God knows what else, thanks to the US/Saudi blockade, Yemenis will die by the thousands from this new scourge.

I would truly love to be a citizen of a country which does not, as a matter of national course and policy, commit war crimes; unfortunately, Mike and I are both too broke, and too old, to make that happen at this time.

But having said this, I want to make something very clear to both the present, and future, US administrations; the moment you start committing war crimes around the world in our names, and with our tax dollars, this site will, in the most peaceful, logical, and most documented manner, will call you out on it, for both our brother and sister Americans, and all the world to see.

On the same day, the Turkish military established three new ‘observation posts’ around Jisr al-Shughur. They are located at the villages of Baksariya, al-Z’ainiyah and Furaykah. Idlib militants see Turkish positions as an important defense line that would allow containing possible Russia- and Iran-backed anti-terrorist operations in the area.

The 46th Regiment Base of the Syrian Army in western Aleppo came under Turkish artillery shelling. In response, Syrian forces struck position of Turkish-backed militants near Kafr Amma. Palestinian minister files coronavirus complaint, after Israeli police forced him to wear blood-stained mask

A Palestinian minister in occupied East Jerusalem has filed a legal complaint against Israeli police officers who he said beat him, robbed him, assaulted his wife and son, and forced him to wear a blood-stained mask, during a raid on his home last week.

Fadi al-Hidmi, Palestine's minister for Jerusalem affairs, was arrested last Friday by Israeli police, accused of conducting "illegal activities".

Local media reported that the officers smashed down a door to his home and confiscated 10,000 shekels (around $2,750) that had been earmarked for charity during a police raid last week.

On Monday, he filed a complaint against the Israeli police officers who arrested him during the storming of his home, according to Haarez.

Israeli Troops Invade Parts of Gaza with Tanks, Bulldozers

Israeli troops reportedly, incurred earlier on Tuesday, into the northwestern part of the besieged Gaza Strip, with tanks and D-9 bulldozers.

Local media outlets and witnesses said that at least four army bulldozers as well as other armored vehicles, incurred several hundred meters deep into a northwestern part of the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahia.

Witnesses added that the invasion took place from the so-called Zekem Israeli military gate.

They also noted that the invading bulldozers embarked on razing of farm lands adjacent to the Israel-Gaza border fence.

No causalities were reported, but some damage was reported to Palestinian-owned farm lands.

Concurrently, another force of Israeli army invaded the southeastern part of Khan Younis city, southern Gaza Strip.

Witnesses said that the invading force opened heavy fire on residents’ homes and farmers in the area, with no causalities reported.

Webmaster's Commentary:

No casualties may have been reported in these two separate incidents, but that does not mean that no casualties actually occurred; the reporting of such incidents, frequently, linger far past the initial attacks.

Israeli settlers spit on cars to 'infect Palestinians with coronavirus' in Jerusalem

Israeli settlers spat on Palestinian cars in the village of Beit Iksa, northwest of East Jerusalem in what locals fear is an attempt to spread the deadly novel coronavirus, according to locals.

The settlers from Ramot on Tuesday evening reportedly spat at cars driven by Palestinians that were entering and leaving the village.

Local Palestinians say this was a case of trying to spread coronavirus after a number of the settler population was tested positive for deadly disease.

Palestinian youth chased the settlers away after confronting them. They then proceeded to disinfect the road and cars to prevent an outbreak.

Ramot settlement has reported 17 cases of coronavirus out of its overall population of 550 people.

Settlers from Ramot are notorious for harassing the local Palestinian population, often caught vandalising their cars and spraying hateful graffiti on their property.

Webmaster's Commentary:

How completely "humanitarian" of these Israelis to do this!!!!

There are moments when one has to wonder, "What were they thinking?!? Who of their Rabbis approved this, and why was this considered "perfectly normal" by these settlers?!?"

This, folks, is why the BDS movement is so critical here; Israelis might speak Hebrew exclusively, but when it comes to numbers and sales, they are absolutely fluent, and bilingual, in dollars and cents.

Calls to seal off ultra-Orthodox areas add to Israel's virus tensions

It wasn’t a typical police operation. Two Israeli officers were to go undercover, although not posing as drug dealers or arms traffickers. For this particular assignment, they were to disguise themselves as ultra-Orthodox Jews.

Their mission on Friday was to bust an illegal gathering in a synagogue. People were praying together, a practice that is now against the law in the era of the coronavirus. Once the officers got inside to confirm the crowd, more units barged in and dispersed people.

Forces left the area, according to police, but: “An hour later, it was reported that people had returned again.” At that point, officers handed out fines amounting to nearly £4,000.

Israel prevents Palestinians from combating COVID-19

As the COVID-19 pandemic death toll grows and the number of those infected creeps past one million confirmed cases, worldwide, the Palestinian health workers of Gaza and the West Bank try desperately to prevent the spread of the virus in the occupied territories. Unfortunately, however, this effort has been severely compromised by the Israeli occupation forces.

An issue almost completely overlooked by Western corporate media, is the issue of Israeli persecution of Palestinians during the ongoing pandemic. This major cover-up comes despite the fact that there is currently round the clock coverage of the impacts of the novel coronavirus.

National Public Radio reports from Israel/Palestine are biased towards Israel

Anyone who thinks that the National Public Radio’s international correspondent in Jerusalem, Daniel Estrin, is giving them unbiased reports is sadly mistaken. Estrin’s slant is subtle, not always as obvious as his counterparts at the New York Times, but a quick look at his recent work is revealing.

Let’s start with Estrin’s March 15 report, back when Benny Gantz had a chance to form a coalition government that would have ended Benjamin Netanyahu’s reign. Estrin noted that Gantz considered building a minority government dependent on the Joint List, the group of parties that won overwhelming support from the 20 percent of Israelis of Palestinian background. He reported that Netanyahu tried to block the prospective government by calling the Joint List “terror sympathizers,” and, for good measure, he added a statement from Netanyahu’s Likud party that also described them as “terror supporters.”

Netanyahu Showed Clip From TV Series to Cabinet as Proof of Iranian Coronavirus Cover-Up – Report

As reported separately by Barak Ravid of Israel’s Channel 13 news and the Ynet news site, Netanyahu shared a clip of corpses in body bags rolling down a hole with members of his cabinet during a briefing on coronavirus response on Monday.

He showed it to illustrate his “assertions that Iran was being untruthful about the real consequences of coronavirus,” Raz Zimmit, a research fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv, told Ynet.

Netanyahu’s office later realised, however, that the clip was taken from Pandemic, a mini-series about an unknown virus infecting Los Angeles, which aired on the Hallmark Channel in 2007.
