Gun Control May Hurt Florida Democrats In 2022

For the last several years, gun rights proponents have had to play defense. Our wins have been when laws get blocked or overturned by the courts, at least at the federal level. Those who support gun control have had all the momentum, though they haven’t really been able to capitalize on it, thankfully. -- Now, there’s some speculation that their assault on the Second Amendment may be about to bite them in their posteriors.

ATF Delays Another Public Information Release That Would Prove Biden Lied

However, we all know what the ATF will find: nothing. There will be a mere handful of arrests, out of the approximately 60,000 licensed gun dealers currently operating throughout the country. -- The reason? Federally licensed firearms dealers are a law-abiding bunch. They’re not going to suddenly go rogue and start selling guns to prohibited folks. Biden knows this. The ATF knows this. All they need to do is fork over the data and the public can know this too. Instead, the ATF is going to make things difficult and delay the process, at least according to an email they sent last week.

Rare Breed Triggers Accused Of Creating "Machine Gun" Loses First Court Battle With ATF

Florida company Rare Breed Trigger, LLC manufactures a drop-in trigger that makes an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle cycle rounds faster lost its first court battle with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), according to Orlando-based news outlet WFTV. This means the company must halt all sales of its FRT-15 trigger while it waits for trial.

On July 26, the ATF sent a letter to Rare Breed stating the FRT-15 trigger has been classified as a machine gun under the National Firearms Act, and the company must cease all sales or face fines and jail time.

In early August, Lawrence DeMonico, president of Rare Breed, sued the ATF after the agency said the drop-in trigger converted the semi-automatic weapon into a "machinegun," capable of firing more than one bullet per trigger pull. He said the ATF's claim is preposterous as the trigger must entirely cycle before the next round is fired.

FBI Uniform Crime Report Should Have Everyone Up In Arms

Right. Well, the alarming number of increase in murders has not escaped the watchful eyes of the Citizen’s Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. From a recent press release we’re confronted with more startling statistics. Not only are they noting the same uniform rise in murder, they do break down the number of murders due to firearms. This is relevant as Washington had in recent years implemented more so-called “gun control” laws which presumably had no effect on murders.

USA TODAY Joins Bloomberg’s Anti-Gun Propaganda

For USA TODAY, this is nothing new. It’s all part of an incestuous partnership the newspaper has with the Trace – the propaganda arm of billionaire Michael Bloomberg’s anti-gun empire. -- The Trace describes itself as the “only newsroom dedicated to reporting on gun violence.” It has slick digital packages that are chockfull of stories, photos and videos, so it’s easy to confuse the Trace with an actual news website. But a news site it is not. The Trace supplies propaganda for Bloomberg’s other anti-gun groups, which include Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action, as well as any members of the media willing to cut and paste their stories.

Why The Left’s Culture War Mode May Hurt Them

Gun rights and gun control probably shouldn’t be part of the culture war, but it is. As a result, it’s part of a lot of discussions it probably shouldn’t be part of. -- Yet in this day and age, it feels like everything is part of those discussions. -- Democrats, firmly on a different side of said culture war than yours truly, have decided to push hard for a number of things such as gun control. In their collective mind, anything less than gun control is unacceptable.

Days After Cops Raid Home, 3D Gun Legend “JStark” Found Dead of “Heart Attack” at 28

The 3D gun pioneer, who invented the rapid-fire 3D-printed gun that could be entirely printed at home, “JStark” has died, according to German magazine Der Spiegel. He passed away in his home, according to the magazine, of a heart attack. He was just 28 years old.

After his invention of the FGC-9 in 2020, JStark became a well-cherished internet hero and news of his death is sending shockwaves through his popular channels. According to Der Spiegel, JStark died on Friday, October 8 of a heart attack.

The magazine reports that it “appears” his death was natural and police ruled out foul play. Adding to the suspicious nature of a 28-year-old man, who appeared to be in good health, dying of a heart attack, however, is the fact that days before he died, on October 6, police raided his home.

Only A Well-Armed Citizenry Can Effectively Resist Tyranny via Treason

Does the import of the Treason clause the founders wrote into the Constitution extend to the imposition of tyranny on the people? If so, then tyranny amounts to levying war against the people. This means that the levying of war against the people is no less an act of betrayal, i.e. no less an act of treachery against the people, and, therefore, no less treason committed by the Government upon its own people, than is an unlawful levying of war by the people against Government.

Freedom is messy. It’s chaotic. It’s so chaotic that I don’t want to live in a country without any government to speak of, but the bounds of that government need to be clear and those established lines protected. Our Founding Fathers looked at government as a kind of necessary evil, and I share that view.

Intruders No Match For Armed Homeowners

Crime isn’t the worst that it’s ever been in the United States, but since the riots and unrest erupted in dozens of cities last summer, we’ve been heading in the wrong direction at breakneck speed. Break-ins and home invasions are becoming more common in many communities, and I hope that these three individuals who were able to protect themselves from those who wanted to do them harm prompt more Americans to think seriously about their own personal safety and their right of armed self-defense.

Biden Banking Proposal Would Be Bad News For Gun Owners

While there’s been an awful lot of discussion about Joe Biden’s multi-trillion dollar reconciliation bill recently, most of the debate that I’ve seen has surrounded the potential cost, as opposed to what Biden and his fellow Democrats are hoping to do with all that cash. One proposal that’s starting to get some attention, however, is Biden’s plan to require banks to report all consumer transactions of more than $600. According to the White House, this would help the IRS crack down on tax cheats, but as Larry Keane of the National Shooting Sports Foundation writes, the plan would also allow the Biden administration to keep track of gun buyers.

Violence Against Women Act Will Allow Non-Romantic Relationships to Trigger Red Flag Gun Confiscation

The Violence Against Women Act of 2021 (VAWA), which passed the House in the Spring and could now be taken up by the Senate, contains a red flag provision applying even to those involved in non-romantic relationships.

The Los Angeles Times reported the VAWA, which passed the House in March, contained language to expand federal domestic partner laws to include boyfriends and dating partners. The expansion allows the inclusion of gun bans for boyfriends with a domestic violence conviction and also “expands the prohibition to current and former dating partners, as well as those convicted of misdemeanor stalking.”

The prohibitive language was part of a provision drafted by Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI), who told the Times, “I’m not trying to take guns away from most people, but if someone’s demonstrated that they could abuse somebody, then we need to do something to prevent violence.”

The older generation of Americans who grew up in a time when many people still lived on farms. We were all expected to learn how to shoot a firearm. After the Second World War and Korea and amidst the threat of Soviet totalitarianism, Americans were taught to defend their families, and their country. Liberty, self-armament, patriotism, and citizenship were inextricably bound.

Video Shows Barry Washington Was Shot While Assaulting Ian Cranston 'Without Provocation'

"Indisputable" video evidence shows Barry Washington "assaulted [Ian Cranston] without provocation, resulting in head injuries that required the police to take [him] to the hospital where a brain scan and other procedures had to be performed," Cranston's attorney reports.

The media is hiding video showing Barry Washington assaulting Ian Cranston and his girlfriend outside a bar last month in Oregon before getting shot and using a picture of Cranston after his black eye started to heal to imply he was the aggressor.

CNN not only hid the top-left image showing Cranston's black eye but also chose to darken the latest image released by the local sheriff's department where Cranston's eye had mostly healed in order to make him look more intimidating...

No self-defense.” Let me show you where the propaganda starts at the top.

Clearly, Chipman’s history of lobbying against the Second Amendment should have automatically disqualified him from heading ATF. Why The Supreme Court SHOULDN’T Care About Public Opinion

The Court’s popularity is neither here nor there. The Constitution fixed a lifetime appointment precisely so they could be immune to public opinion. Supreme Court pivots to abortion, guns, and death penalty as public approval slides

Facing an onslaught of political pressure tactics and plunging public approval, the U.S. Supreme Court on Monday sails into a new term set to decide some of the most divisive cases in decades on abortion, gun rights, the death penalty and religious freedom.

By the end of June 2022, the court's conservative majority has the potential to roll back 50 years of abortion rights precedent; declare a right to carry a handgun outside the home; bolster the death penalty; and, allow some American parents to use taxpayer funds for religious schools.

"This is not a court that has the opportunity to inch forward and tip toe around issues," said University of Chicago law professor and legal historian Farah Peterson. "We should all be watching these cases very closely because suddenly the court has new members interested in taking up issues of grave public concern."

New California Law Shows Why Gun Registration Must Be Opposed

The bad news about California’s AB 173 keeps coming. BREAKING: Smith & Wesson Leaving Massachusetts ‘Due To Changing Business Climate For Firearms Manufacturing’

Congratulations to Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker and the Bay State’s legislature. They’ve finally succeeded in driving 750 additional jobs out of their state. Today, Smith & Wesson announced they will move their corporate headquarters to Tennessee. Why? As S&W put it, they’re clearing out “Due to changing business climate for firearms manufacturing in Massachusetts.”

Massachusetts has reveled in making life difficult for gun makers and owners for generations now. The Bay State’s legislators keep adding rules and regulations upon the law-abiding. Of course, criminals ignore these with impunity.

As for carrying a gun in Massachusetts? Like my crime-free home state of Illinois (cough), Massachusetts recognizes no other state’s carry licenses. In fact, Massachusetts isn’t even a “shall issue” state. For now, at least.

DELUSIONAL : Chipman Says the Gun Lobby Tried to Kill Him Over His ATF Nomination

The Chipman saga reminds me of when I was a young boy on my uncle’s farm and accidentally touched an electric fence. I got zapped and learned never to do that again. Activists Hope To Make Florida A Constitutional Carry State

Florida has a Republican governor and GOP control of the state legislature, which has left some gun rights activists wondering why the state hasn’t yet adopted a Constitutional Carry law that would recognize the right of legal gun owners to both keep and bear arms without a government permission slip. Florida really kickstarted the Right to Carry revolution back in the 1980s when it became a “shall issue” state, and over the next couple of decades dozens of other states followed suit. There are now more than 2-million concealed handgun licenses issued by the state, but efforts to implement campus carry and permitless carry have stalled out in the legislature over the past few years.

Biden Administration Asks the U.S. Supreme Court to Judicially Nullify the Right to Bear Arms

On September 21, the Biden Administration filed an amicus brief in the pending U.S. Supreme Court case of New York Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, supporting New York’s draconian and unconstitutional restrictions on the right to bear firearms in public for self-defense.

This NRA-supported challenge to New York’s “may-issue” licensing scheme for public handgun carry is the first Second Amendment challenge to a firearm law to reach the high court since 2010.

New York’s law presumptively denies the right to bear arms for self-defense unless a license applicant can demonstrate a special need for self-protection that distinguishes the person from the general population.

Do Government Policies Disarming The Citizenry Rise To The Level Of Treason?

As we stated in our first article posted on AmmoLand News, “Does the Biden Administration’s Assault on the Second Amendment Amount to ‘Treason,’” one must be circumspect in the application of a Treason hypothesis. For, if we are careless in our understanding of the import of it, we risk diluting its significance, mistakenly attaching the duo labels of ‘Treason’ and ‘Traitor’ to those who never warranted it but happened nonetheless to be branded with it and then crucified for it.

And we know whereof we speak: Recall the branding of “Traitor” to our 45th President, Donald Trump, and recall the crucifying of him and those closest to him: Those individuals who assisted him in his run for U.S. Presidency; Cabinet-level Officers; close friends and associates; even members of his own immediate family. All of them have been incessantly, rapaciously, relentlessly, viciously attacked and hounded because of service to, or mere association with, the purported traitor, Donald Trump.

Biden Asks Supreme Court for Permission to Destroy Gun Rights

New York’s law presumptively denies the right to bear arms for self-defense unless a license-applicant can demonstrate a special need for self-protection that distinguishes the person from the general population. -- In practice, this means the rich and well-connected can get unrestricted carry licenses but ordinary people cannot, even if they actually face a greater risk of being violently victimized while going about their daily lives in public. The law effectively nullifies for most New Yorkers what the Supreme Court has already characterized as “the individual right to possess and carry weapons in case of confrontation.”

Texas Open Carry

There is a semi-famous (notorious?) restaurant in Rifle, Colorado where the waitresses carry guns, and patrons are encouraged to wear their guns when they come to eat. Lauren Boebert, owner of the SHOOTER’S GRILL, has gained national attention for her decision to encourage her staff to carry a firearm during work. The Denver Post has written an article entitled “Armed and ready to feed you”. Naturally, visiting this restaurant has been on my “bucket list” for quite some time. For those who suspect me of exaggerating, you can watch one of dozens of YouTube videos that prove I’m not making this up.

The Left Cheered When Australians Gave Up Their Guns. Now They’re Being Shot By Their Own Government in the Streets.

Harrowing footage from Australia reveals police enforcing lockdown laws with all the fervor of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. The images we watched out of China – at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic – are now being replicated on the streets of Western nations.

After 35 people were killed in the Port Arthur Massacre in 1996, the Australian government moved swiftly to ban pump-action shotguns and semi-automatic rifles. While – as Matt Palumbo notes – the number of guns in the country actually failed to decline all that much in the proceeding years, the types of guns available to the public along with the groups of people owning them prove the importance of America’s Second Amendment.

Per the University of Sydney, “the proportion of Australians who hold a gun licence has fallen by 48 percent since 1997,” and “the proportion of Australian households with a firearm has fallen by 75 percent in recent decades.”

‘Nearly One-Third of Gun Owners Have Used Gun in Self-Defense,’ Says Report

A whopping 31.1 percent of gun owners—estimated to be about 25.3 million American adults—have used a gun in self-defense, according to the 2021 National Firearms Survey, by Prof. William English, PhD., at Georgetown University.

The survey was designed by Deborah Azrael of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and Matthew Miller of Northeastern University, according to the Wall Street Journal. English released a draft in June and the WSJ just reported on its contents.

How Do You Get Rid Of Bad Ammunition?

All firearms enthusiasts eventually come across bullets that just won't fire or corroded ammunition they don't want to risk shooting. We doubt you want to start stockpiling bad ammo, so how can you get rid of it?

The internet is flush with recommendations on what to do with bad ammunition, but not all of that advice is environmentally friendly, or legal. Below are five methods we recommend to make sure you part ways with ammunition properly.

Sep 21 09:44

Data Study: 18 Months of Ammo Sales during a Pandemic, Protests, and the Biden Presidency

In our previous data study on the initial effects of the pandenmic on our business, we outlined increased sales due to the public’s growing leeriness of COVID-19, starting from February 23, 2020 when the news coverage became ominous.

That's only part of the story, however, because over the last 18 months, we've experienced a particularly charged election year, BLM protests amid calls to "defund the police," a contentious transfer of power, and most recently a surprise ban on popular Russian ammo.

These events in particular, set against the backdrop of the ongoing response to the pandemic, resulted in demand spikes. Looking at the data below, you'll get a sense of a high level trend during the pandemic and then see how that trend changed during certain specific time periods, like the BLM protests, when already-elevated demand went up even more.

Sep 19 05:20

The Rise And Fall Of 9MM Ammo Prices During COVID; What's Next?

The price rise could be attributed to the BLM protests, counter and subsequent riots that followed, which were viewed widely across the internet and traditional media. There were depictions of innocent people getting hurt or worse, swarmed by protestors, with no police anywhere to help.

This led to a panic buy on top of a panic buy. Whereas previously, shelves had been scarce, they became empty. People started to hoard ammunition like they had been hoarding toilet paper. Since manufacturing companies were set up to meet the average demand of the "Trump Slump" of the previous years, where gun and ammo sales had been low, there started to be bottlenecks in ammunition production. Ammo manufacturers were not prepared for the sharp increase in buying.

San Diego City Council Bans Ghost Guns

San Diego City Council passed an ordinance on Tuesday that bans the sale and possession of “ghost guns” in an attempt to combat the rising gun crime in San Diego.

Ghost guns are privately made firearms that lack serial numbers, making them hard to be traced by law enforcement agencies. Under federal law, it is legal for private individuals to make their own firearms, but a license is required for the manufacture of firearms that are for sale or distribution.

The Eliminate Non-Serialized Untraceable Firearm (ENUF) ordinance was introduced by Councilwoman Marni von Wilpert after a deadly shooting in April in downtown San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter in which a ghost gun was used. San Diego Police Chief David Nisleit told FOX 5 reporters after the shooting that there has been a 169 percent increase in ghost guns from 2020.

The first reading of the ENUF ordinance passed 8-1 in August. At the city council meeting on Tuesday, citizens voiced their opinions regarding the ordinance.

Does The Biden Administration’s Assault On The Second Amendment Amount To Treason?

Under Biden’s reign, Americans are quickly losing their fundamental rights and liberties. -- They have already lost any vestige of a fundamental right of privacy as protected under the Unreasonable Searches and Seizures clause of the Fourth Amendment. And the Right of free speech under the First Amendment is, as well, under tremendous assault today.

They’re not the majority. There aren’t that many of them, even. They exist, though, and if given half a chance, they’ll take whatever opportunities they can find to seize power.

If there was any doubt that the demise of David Chipman’s nomination as permanent director of the ATF has gun control activists in a rage, look no further than the editorial pages of the Washington Post, where the editors uncorked a torrent of misinformation and vitriol aimed at those it believes responsible for Chipman’s defeat; the “the gun lobbyists who attacked the nominee, showing how morally off-kilter, yet enduringly powerful, the lobby remains.”

Chipman Defeat Isn’t the End

Just because Chipman’s not in the running for the ATF job doesn’t mean he’s done. Nor does it mean anyone should expect The White House to give up on its gun control agenda. It’s important to remember what the Biden administration has already put into motion, what they vowed to do, and what gun control is demanding. This is also the first year of the Biden administration. There are still more than three years before voters will have an opportunity to demand a president that respects gun rights.

Sheriff Calls 2A Sanctuaries Example Of “Hug-A-Thug” Mentality

The purpose of a Second Amendment Sanctuary is simple: to ensure that no unconstitutional gun control laws will be enforced against those within the “sanctuary,” whether it’s a town, county, or a state. It’s not about going soft on criminals, but ensuring that responsible gun owners aren’t turned into criminals by enforcing laws that violate their right to keep and bear arms.

Atlantic Writer Promotes Culture War on Gun Ownership

“American gun buyers are falling victim to bad risk analysis.” Here the writer exposed his belief that ordinary Americans are too stupid to take stock of their own circumstances and determine how to best defend themselves and their families.

No, Chipman’s Nomination Was Never A Good Idea

Chipman was never a good idea. Anyone with half a brain should have looked at his record and realized he was a bad candidate for the job, especially in a day and age when the position requires confirmation (which probably wasn’t the smartest move anyone could have made). -- Now, though, all of that is a moot point. Chipman will go back to disparaging gun owners to score cheap points and we’ll begin this process anew.

Boston Suburb Wants To Quarantine Gun Stores

Gun stores have become a big issue in the bedroom communities surrounding Boston over the past few months, and now one suburb is taking steps to restrict where firearm retailers can operate. Members of the Select Board in Brookline, Massachusetts are hoping to avoid a legal fight by not imposing a blanket ban on gun stores, as some activists have demanded. Instead, they’re proposing to quarantine gun stores away from the general population by confining their potential existence to a few blocks inside the city limits.

DC Project Applauds U.S. Senators Who Opposed Chipman’s Nomination

Chipman would have been a disaster for law-abiding firearm owners and the gun culture of our nation. More importantly, he would have had a detrimental impact on women’s ability to protect themselves and their families.

White House Loses & Will Withdraw Chipman ATF Nomination

In a major defeat for Joe Biden and the gun prohibition lobby, the Washington Post and other news agencies are reporting that the White House will withdraw the nomination of avowed gun control advocate David Chipman to head the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

White House planning to withdraw ATF nominee

The White House is planning to withdraw David Chipman's nomination to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, according to three sources close to the process.

Chipman is currently a senior policy advisor to Giffords, a gun control group, and faced an uphill battle to Senate confirmation as President Joe Biden's point person on firearms regulation. Sen. Angus King (I-Maine) had previously told the Biden administration and Senate Democrats that he was not supportive of the nominee. Other moderate Democratic senators, including Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Jon Tester of Montana, have also remained noncommittal on the pick.

Michigan Men Try To Get Their Guns Back From Sheriff

Gun confiscation can come in many forms. It’s not necessarily going to be jackbooted thugs kicking in your door to take your guns away. It could be as simple as law enforcement finding more and more reasons to seize guns from law-abiding citizens, then refusing to give them back.

Biden’s Actions in Afghanistan Affirm Commitment to Gun Control

As the Taliban celebrates the withdrawal of U.S. forces by parading their American-sourced tactical vehicles, aircraft, guns, and other weapons, reports have emerged that the Biden Administration has ordered federal agencies to delete online information respecting the cost of this military equipment and related spending in Afghanistan while proclaiming its support for more gun control.

A Flood of Gun Lies Are Coming & You Need to Aggressively Correct Them

We will soon be again inundated with another batch of these fabricated lies. They will be fancied up with scientific words and written by paid-off researchers, who live for these types of grants. The articles are then published in prestigious, but very biased, journals. -- The US media will repeat these lies until even many of us are no longer certain about the truth. Many in our extended families will become suspicious of us and our firearms and assume that we are dangerous to them.

Canada’s Conservative leader now says he will keep firearms ban

Amid days of pressure to clarify his party’s stance on gun control legislation in Canada, the leader of the country’s Conservative Party has pledged to maintain a 2020 ban on some firearms if elected later this month.

Speaking during a news conference in Vancouver on Sunday, Erin O’Toole said the Conservatives would keep in place a prohibition on some “assault-style” weapons that was imposed by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government in March of last year.

Texas Really Pissed Liberals Off With This 2nd Amendment Bill

Texans are no longer required to obtain a state license in order to carry a concealed firearm in public, causing an increase in the number of people who choose to skip the training process, gun experts report.

The bill that cut back the requirements, H.B. 1927, known as the constitutional carry law, took effect Wednesday. One Texas Republican touted it as doing away with an “artificial barrier” to citizens' constitutional right to bear arms.

Before Sept. 1, Texas residents who purchased a gun and wished to carry it in a concealed manner were required to obtain a state license, even though they were legally permitted to carry a gun openly in public without a license.

“Through Aug. 31, if you wanted to carry a handgun in Texas, you had to get a background check, you had to get training in safety and laws, and you had to determine some proficiency,” announced Gyl Switzer, executive director for Texas Gun Sense.

CDC Director To Restart Gun Research Amid Spate Of Mass Shootings

For the first time in decades, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) will restart research into the gun violence epidemic across the U.S. CDC researchers will be on a mission to collect enough data to enable the agency to create solutions to prevent gun-related deaths, accidental gun deaths, and/or suicides.

CDC director Rochelle Walensky spoke with CNN over the weekend and revealed her new plan to research guns and gun-related violence.

CDC to Spend Millions of Taxpayer Dollars on Gun ‘Health Threat’

President Biden’s Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is gearing up to spend millions of taxpayer dollars fighting the “serious public health threat” posed by gun violence.

CDC director Dr. Rochelle Walensky referenced gun crime in various cities and said, “Something has to be done about this. Now is the time — it’s pedal to the metal time,” CNN reported.

“The scope of the problem is just bigger than we’re even hearing about, and when your heart wrenches every day you turn on the news, you’re only hearing the tip of the iceberg. We haven’t spent the time, energy and frankly the resources to understand this problem because it’s been so divided,” she added.

"Puzzle Pieces All Laid Out" - How ATF Has Plan To Classify Semi-Automatic Rifles As "Machine Guns"

What is Going on With Gun Control Right Now in 2021?

Just a general warning. The statements presented may start to sound like a conspiracy theory, but I promise you, dear reader, it is not.

There's been much talk at the range recently about the new proposed gun control by the Biden Administration. Many people are perplexed. We get a ton of questions, emails, and phone calls asking, "Will this affect me?", "What can I do?", "Why are they doing this?" among others.

I want to answer these questions as best as I can. We've been in the firearms industry here at TMGN since 2013 and have had a shop & range since 2015, so we've seen tons of changes from different administrations. There is a clear agenda here, and I'm reasonably sure most gun owners are going to be a little unhappy with the information I'm about to deliver.

Democratic Bill Would Ban 3D Printing Firearm Schematics

Sen. Ed Markey’s (D-Mass.) little-known 3D Printed Gun Safety Act (S. 2319) would criminalize sharing firearm schematics for 3D printers online.

3D printing describes a process that allows people to “print” 3D models for various items. These models range from small tools, art projects, and shapes up to functional firearms. Critics of the practice have called these 3D-printed firearms “ghost guns” because they lack serial numbers and are difficult for law enforcement to trace.

Despite their relative novelty, 3D-printed firearms have a rich legal history.

In 2018, Congress passed the Export Control Reform Act (ECRA), a foreign policy bill designed to restrict enemies’ access to U.S.-made munitions.

The Second Amendment Is About Rifles Not Racism

Below are my thoughts on academic work claiming that the Second Amendment is a relic of slavery. The reframing of the debate follows a familiar pattern in academia. Indeed, the same type of sweeping (and unchallenged) generalities was used recently to declare Olympic surfing a relic of American imperialism. The framing of such claims often precede any search for the facts. However, academics know that there is an eager and unquestioning audience for such publications. Conversely, those academics challenging such claims risk isolation and shunning in today’s intolerant environment. What is most striking about this latest claim is that it is directly and comprehensively contradicted by historical sources. Yet, there are relatively few academics who have publicly challenged the claims as media heralds the theory as a type of breakthrough publication. As discussed earlier, the theory is neither new nor well-founded.

Rare Breed Triggers Fires Back At ATF, Says "Will Not Comply"

Lawrence DeMonico, president of Rare Breed Triggers (RBT), brought everyone up to speed in a new video statement regarding the lawsuit filed by RBT against the Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), Department of Justice (DoJ), and Attorney General (AG). He addresses the ATF's attempted to redefine the term "machine gun" to apply it to RBT's FRT-15 semi-automatic trigger in contradiction to federal law (Gun Control Act and National Firearms Act).

On July 27, DeMonico said the ATF Tampa Field Division, accompanied by a government attorney, personally served him and his attorney with a cease and desist letter, informing him that his FRT-15 trigger had been classified as a "machine gun." The letter went on to say that RBT needs to halt all manufacturing and sales of the FRT-15 and discuss a strategy to address the triggers that have already been sold.

Biden Bans Importation of Russian Ammunition in Backhanded Swipe at Gun Owners

President Joe Biden’s State Department announced it would deny all importation permits for ammunition manufactured in Russia on Friday, with the department citing the alleged 2020 poisoning of Russian political dissident Aleksy Navalny.

The ammo ban serves as a de facto punishment for American gun owners for alleged corruption and misconduct on the part of the Russian government. Ammunition manufactured in Russia has consistently been the cheapest available since the onset of the coronavirus pandemic in 2019, with brands such as Tula and Wolf offering steel-cased rounds in the .223 caliber at prices well below their western competitors. Steel-cased ammo is easier to manufacture than rounds cased in materials such as copper.

ATF Tried To Ban Guns By Changing Meaning Of 'Firearm'

Joined by Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie, over two dozen Republican House members on the Second Amendment caucus issued a comment denouncing a new proposed rule by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) that would outlaw homemade guns, develop a backdoor gun registry, and regulate gun parts with a background check.

The proposed rule, the “Definition of Frame or Receiver and Identification of Firearms” was presented in May and signed by Attorney General Merrick Garland. Public remarks on the rule closed Thursday.

ATF Now Labels FRT-15 A Machine Gun, Turning Law Abiding Citizens Into Criminals

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) decided that Florida company Rare Breed Trigger, LLC's special trigger is converting semi-automatic rifles into machine guns.

FRT-15 is a drop-in trigger for an AR-15 rifle and forces the trigger to be reset. The force reset dramatically speeds up the rate of fire of the rifle.

On July 26, the ATF sent a letter to Rare Breed stating the FRT-15 trigger has been classified as a machine gun under the National Firearms Act and that Rare Breed needs to cease all sales.

NRA's 'unabated' corruption justifies shutting it down, New York says

The National Rifle Association has failed to root out rampant internal corruption, even after a bankruptcy case designed to avoid that obligation was thrown out, New York Attorney General Letitia James said in a court filing seeking to dissolve the gun rights group.

In an amended complaint filed on Monday, James said the NRA’s concealment of questionable transactions, awarding perks to longtime Chief Executive Wayne LaPierre and other insiders, disregard of good governance, and evasion of accountability have “continued unabated” since she sued the nonprofit last August.

The amended complaint was filed after U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Harlin Hale in Dallas dismissed the NRA’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy case in May, calling it an improper effort to gain an “unfair litigation advantage” and avoid James’ oversight.

BREAKING: Trump Congratulates Missouri Gov For Pardoning McCloskeys, Who Defended Themselves From BLM With Guns

45th President Donald Trump issued a statement congratulating Missouri Gov. Mike Parson, a Republican, for having the courage to pardon U.S. Senate candidate Mark McCloskey and his wife. The McCloskeys gained national fame last year, when they used firearms to defend their home from a trespassing mob of Black Lives Matter protesters during the heat of the George Floyd-inspired riots that gripped America for much of 2020.

“Congratulations to Governor Mike Parson of Missouri for having the courage to give Mr. and Mrs. Mark McCloskey a full pardon,” wrote President Donald Trump earlier today. “They were defending their property and if they had not done what they did, their property would have been completely destroyed and they would have been badly beaten, or dead—great going Mike!” Parson pardoned the McCloskey family earlier this month, and the couple is now suing to regain rightful ownership of their confiscated firearms.

AR-15 owners may have to submit fingerprints, register guns and more under new House bill

Nine Democrat members of Congress, led by Florida’s Ted Deutch, introduced legislation (H.R.4953) Friday in the House of Representatives to amend the National Firearms Act to include “any semiautomatic rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine,” such as the popular AR-15.

The move would force owners to be put on a federal registry, submit fingerprints, photos, notify law enforcement officers and wait over nine months for approval, as well as pay a $200 tax, in accordance with National Firearms Act requirements.

ABSURD : Push To Outlaw Hunting In Oregon Underway

How many times have you heard or had to say “the Second Amendment has nothing to do with hunting!”? Well, the Second Amendment has nothing to do with hunting, if you needed to get up to speed. Yes, the proliferation of game animals is a big part of our American heritage, but it wasn’t the deer the framers of the Bill of Rights were worried about protecting the people from. This is relevant because there have been more than one leftist progressive member of the anti-freedom caucus try to equate gun rights to our ability to hunt. There is also a push that would outlaw hunting in Oregon. What do some champions of gun rights have to say about hunting and the right to keep and bear arms?

'Mark McCloskey is an absolute liar. He has spat on my name and because of that, his day will come,' Bush said on CNN.

Mexico Sues US Gun Makers For "Arming The Drug Cartels" In Unprecedented Federal Filing

"Guns don't kill people, the cartels do..." or so we thought. Perhaps we could add corrupt government and police officials do too, by facilitating or turning a blind eye to the soaring violence which has long made Mexico rank within the top 20 most dangerous countries in the world based on murder rate.

But apparently Mexico officials think it's in reality the US gun companies to blame for fueling the violence with their products. Bloomberg reports Wednesday, "Mexico filed a lawsuit in a U.S. court Wednesday against Smith & Wesson Brands Inc., Glock Inc., Sturm, Ruger & Co. and other major gun manufacturers, accusing them of contributing to gang violence south of the border."

The companies stand accused of wreaking havoc in Mexican society "by persistently supplying a torrent of guns to the drug cartels," according to the civil suit filed in a Massachusetts federal district court.
