Bill Gates and the Uncertain Future of Food Security

By Dustin Broadbery

As we approach a winter of discontent and global food systems go from bad to worse, there’s trouble in paradise.

At the root of these problems, government responses to COVID-19 have contributed to a six-fold increase in famine-like conditions as global supply chains collapse, and field trials for gene-edited crops and farm animals begin in the UK.

Against this perfect storm, the UN’s World Food Systems Summit convened last month, with Member States joining the private sector, civil society groups and researchers, to bring about “tangible, positive changes” to the world’s food systems, and as the story goes, “drive recovery from COVID-19.”

Marine Vet Sues Walmart After Pharmacist Refused To Fill His Ivermectin Prescription

Walmart is facing a new lawsuit after a pharmacist in Albert Lea, Minnesota, refused to fill a prescription for ivermectin to treat a Marine vet and his wife, both of whom were suffering with COVID-19.

The Marine, Bill Salier, shared his story the “Steve Deace Show” on BlazeTV Monday. Salier told Deace that out of desperation, he ended up purchasing the “pony paste” from the feed supply store, and they both almost immediately got better.

Salier, 53, told Deace that he began feeling sick on Oct. 1, and tested positive for COVID-19 a few days later. After his diagnosis, Salier said he attempted to receive monoclonal antibody treatments through the Minnesota Resource Allocation, but his requests were ignored.

“We never so much as heard a word back, not even in acknowledgement that the requests had been put in,” he said.

Joe Biden & The Disappearing Elephant: How To Make A Full-Sized Scandal Vanish In Front Of An Audience Of Millions

This week marked the anniversary of one of the greatest political tricks in history: the disappearance of Hunter Biden scandal.

New emails were released that added new details to what was a raw influence peddling operation that netted millions from foreign sources. A new tranche of emails connecting President Joe Biden to key accounts prove just how this political sleight of hand was worthy of Houdini. After all, Houdini only made an elephant disappear. The Bidens made the equivalent to an entire circus disappear in front of an audience of millions.

In 'Deep Ship'? Biden Weighs National Guard To Address Record Number Of Vessels Off Los Angeles

It's becoming impossible to ignore just how unprepared the Biden administration is in tackling the current shipping crisis and its impact on domestic supply chains and state economies. A significant backlog of container ships continues to pile up at Los Angeles and Long Beach ports, even though President Biden issued a directive last week to keep both ports, which account for 40% of all shipping containers entering the U.S., operating on a 24/7 basis. Now the administration is so desperate that they're weighing the use of the National Guard to alleviate stretched supply chains so that Americans will hopefully get their consumer goods before the holidays, according to AP News.

The FDA's War Against The Truth On Ivermectin

On July 28, the Wall Street Journal ran our article “Why Is the FDA Attacking a Safe, Effective Drug?”

In it, we outlined the potential value of the antiparasitic drug ivermectin for Covid-19, and we questioned the FDA’s vigorous attack on ivermectin. Many people praised us and many criticized us. We had clearly covered a sensitive subject. It didn’t help that one of the studies we referenced was retracted the day our article was published. Within hours of learning that fact, we sent a mea culpa to the Journal’s editors. They acted quickly, adding a note at the end of the electronic version and publishing our letter. It’s important to address two criticisms of our work. The first is that we exaggerated the FDA’s warning on ivermectin. The second is that Merck’s stance on ivermectin proved that even the company that developed ivermectin thought that it doesn’t work for Covid-19.

First, we didn’t exaggerate the FDA’s warning on ivermectin.

Court Rules In Favor Of Republicans In Dispute Over Illinois Redistricting Maps

A federal court has ruled in favor of Illinois Republicans over a lawsuit filed in June disputing a legislative redistricting plan by Democrats in the General Assembly.

House Republican Leader Jim Durkin and Illinois Senate Republican Leader Dan McConchie filed the lawsuit to challenge legislative maps drawn by Democrats and signed into law by Governor JB Pritzker.

“The Court declares that the June Redistricting Plan, Public Act 102-0010, violates the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution,” the court ruling stated.

The Republican’s lawsuit asserted that that because the legislative maps were drawn using American Community Survey (ACS) population estimates, rather than the final 2020 census enumeration data, the maps cannot ensure the populations are equal as required by the 14th Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause and its one person, one vote rule.

Must See: Russia Makes Announcement That Can Lead To WW3

The U.S. Defense Secretary's trip to Eastern Europe angered Moscow after it declared it was shuttering its NATO mission and sending NATO diplomats out of Moscow.

"We don't have proper conditions for basic diplomatic activities," announced Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Moscow blames NATO for not being interested in "equal dialogue or joint efforts to defuse military-political tension." The ruling came after NATO expelled eight diplomats from Russia's mission earlier this month, stating they worked as undeclared intelligence officers.

En route to NATO this week, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin visited Georgia and Ukraine, two NATO aspirant Black Sea neighbors that the Russian military invaded and proceeded to occupy partly.

Level 5 atmospheric river to unleash flooding across drought-stricken California

After nearly a year without rain, a series of potent Pacific storms are directed at Northern California this week, potentially bringing as much as a foot of rainfall and up to three feet of snow in the Sierra Nevada.

Supercharged by a classic atmospheric river pattern, the storms could lead to flash floods and dangerous debris flows in a wide swath of the region already devastated by recent wildfires.

With each successive storm, the moisture potential increases, peaking with possibly a rare category 5 atmospheric river event on Sunday.

Salmonella outbreak linked to onions: Throw away onions if you don't know where they're from, CDC says

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has linked fresh whole onions to a growing and mysterious salmonella outbreak.

In a food safety alert Wednesday, the CDC said 652 people have been infected with the outbreak strain of Salmonella Oranienburg from 37 states as of Oct. 18. The number of cases is expected to grow as more illnesses are reported.

The outbreak was first reported in mid-September but the CDC, Food and Drug Administration and local health officials had not identified a food linked to the illnesses.

According to the CDC, the affected red, white and yellow onions were imported from Chihuahua, Mexico and distributed by ProSource Inc., which is based in Hailey, Idaho. The onions were sold to restaurants and at grocery stores throughout the country.

Crypto Slide The Result Of A "87%-Off" Binance Fat Finger

At exactly 7:34am ET, with Ethereum trading in record territory at Bitcoin not too far from its own all-time high hit just hours earlier, the crypto space was slammed with what appeared to be a liquidation order, one which immediately halted the upward momentum and sent cryptos sharply lower (perhaps just as intended).

As Bloomberg notes, either someone (like an enterprising short who was deeply underwater and desperate for any trick to push momentum lower) was in a huge hurry to dump bitcoin (even if it meant taking a big loss on the trade), or we had a legitimate fat finger trade because at precisely 7:34am ET the price of Bitcoin appeared to plunge about 87% on Binance’s U.S. exchange, sinking to as low as $8,200 from around $65,000.

The price, which quickly snapped back to where it had been and which was not repeated on other venue, was however enough to immediately crush momentum and send ETH from an all time high above $4,350 to as low as $4,000 a few hours later.

US Army and Navy successfully test three hypersonic weapon prototypes - Pentagon

The US Army and Navy have successfully conducted three new tests of hypersonic weapon components, according to the Pentagon. The components will be integrated into a hypersonic missile system set to go live in 2022.

Conducted at NASA’s Wallops Flight Facility in Virginia, the tests were aimed at helping “inform the development of the Navy’s Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) and the Army’s Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW) offensive hypersonic strike,” according to a Thursday statement from the Pentagon.

The tests took place on the same day that President Joe Biden admitted he was concerned about Chinese hypersonic weapons capabilities.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Note that the US is testing "components", while Russia (and presumably China) have fully integrated working systems.

Putin: Attempts by tech platforms to usurp political or state functions were short-lived, they’ve been put in their place

‘Global digital platforms’ are unable to ‘usurp’ any government functions despite all of their might, Russian President Vladimir Putin told the Valdai forum amid political scandals surrounding companies like Facebook and Google.

Big Tech has sought to acquire some functions rivaling those of governments, the Russian leader said, adding that such attempts were “fleeting.” Still, with all the power the companies have accumulated over the years, they remain unable to compete with the state authorities in this field, he believes.

“In the US, the owners of these platforms were taken down a peg or two as it was in Europe as well,” he told the forum, referring to what he called “de-monopolization measures.”

Javid Warns The Unjabbed “Come Forward Or Lose Your Freedoms!”

What a thoroughly wretched, snivelling little thug Sajid Javid is. Speaking at a press conference yesterday afternoon Javid, who masquerades as the UK’s Health Secretary, told the nation to get jabbed or he would impose covid restrictions this Christmas.

What a jumped-up little toad Javid is. He said that covid cases might reach 100,000 a day in Winter. Therefore when we, the great unwashed are offered a booster jab, we should come forward immediately.

Javid actually said we should rush forward, “not just to save lives, but to keep your freedoms too.” There’s no ambiguity there. It’s simple, get jabbed or lose your freedoms. He took a pop at the estimated 5 million people who have not yet had a single jab.

Health Secretary to Force Fluoridated Water on Entire Country

In 2019, 97% of countries in Western Europe were not adding fluoride to their water.1 While a handful use fluoridated salt, the majority do not. Yet, despite the lack of fluoridated water or salt in their diets, the rates of tooth decay have declined significantly in all the countries.2

In September 2021, Great Britain’s health secretary Sajid Javid announced he would be adding fluoride to all public water supplies,3 forcing citizens to consume the neurotoxin. The statement came in conjunction with approval by the United Kingdom’s chief medical officers from England, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland.4

Paradoxically, his announcement comes one year after a consumers’ group in the U.S. filed a federal lawsuit challenging water fluoridation that supplies 200 million U.S. citizens. The suit was brought against the Environmental Protection Agency and would require water utilities to stop fluoridation.5

Florida Governor Calls for Special Session to Counter Vaccine and Mask Mandates

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Oct. 21 called for a special legislative session to consider bills countering vaccine and mask mandates.

The move follows a series of CCP virus vaccine mandates imposed by the administration of President Joe Biden. This does not sit well with the Florida Governor, and he has “had enough” of federal interference into state business, Christina Punshaw, Press Secretary told the Epoch Times.

The legislative proposals include the provision of reemployment assistance to people who are fired due to failure to comply with an employer’s vaccine mandate. Under another proposal, Floridians who have an adverse reaction to a vaccine would be eligible for workers’ compensation.

The laws against discrimination on the basis of race apply without regard to the particular race discriminated against. Discrimination favoring blacks or non-whites is just as illegal as discrimination favoring whites.

That’s a core legal principle, but a principle that gets swept aside in an era where Ibram X. Kendi’s maxim that current discrimination is justified to remedy past discrimination is worshipped in academia, corporations, and government.

Most problems in life don’t have legal process answers. But racially discriminatory government policies and practices are subject to suit.We have covered numerous cases in which government programs that discriminated on the basis of race in favoring non-whites, for example:

AUSTRALIA: Police Minister Paul Papalia threatens bikies with jail time for wearing biker symbols, showing tattoos in public

Members of outlaw motorcycle gangs in Western Australia (WA) can no longer gather in public, wear club colors and display face tattoos as the state rolls out harsh laws banning people from showing off prohibited patches and insignias. They have been advised to hide their face tattoos under makeup and plasters.

“We’re coming for the bikies. These people are not [members of] a social club. They are criminals,” says Police Minister Paul Papalia. Bikies in Australia refer to the members of motorcycle gangs.

The government has introduced into parliament the Criminal Law (Unlawful Consorting and Prohibited Insignia) Bill 2021. A press release says that the legislation pledges to “disrupt and restrict the capacity of those involved in serious and organized crime to plan, support or encourage the carrying out of criminal activity.”

Inside TurboTax’s 20-Year Fight to Stop Americans From Filing Their Taxes for Free

Intuit’s QuickBooks accounting product remains a steady moneymaker, but in the past two decades TurboTax, its tax preparation product, has driven the company’s steadily growing profits and made it a Wall Street phenom. When Smith took over in 2008, TurboTax was a market leader, but only a small portion of Americans filed their taxes online. By 2019, nearly 40% of U.S. taxpayers filed online and some 40 million of them did so with TurboTax, far more than with any other product.

But the success of TurboTax rests on a shaky foundation, one that could collapse overnight if the U.S. government did what most wealthy countries did long ago and made tax filing simple and free for most citizens.

The First Horror Movie Was Made In 1896

It's easy to forget how old movies are as an art form, and that goes double for horror movies. The genre relies so heavily on modern special effects that it may seem like it could not have existed before their arrival, but horror didn't begin with Michael Myers or Freddie Kruger. It all started with a mostly forgotten clip called Le Manoir du Diable, produced by Georges Mélis, which dates back to 1896.

Georges Melieso
Born in Paris, Georges Mélis was trained in stage design, playwriting and puppetry since childhood. After becoming a successful businessman, he bought his own theater and devoted himself to the entertainment business, just as "moving pictures" were growing in popularity. Dissatisfied only with screening others' films, he soon bought a camera and got down to the business we call shows.
