Fauci Demands Censorship to Fight Pandemic

After Biden’s spokeswoman boasted that the administration was ordering Facebook to censor some people’s speech, Fauci joined the campaign by appearing on CNN to warn about the dangers of letting anyone say whatever they think. "We probably would still have polio in this country if we had the kind of false information that's being spread now," he falsely claimed.

Fauci, as usual, is wrong about everything.

The polio vaccine was the subject of numerous controversies which played out in public.

There were anti-vaccine campaigns long before Facebook. The most bracing of these took on the polio vaccine with the headline, "Little White Coffins" declaring, "Only God above will know how many thousands of little white coffins will be used to bury the victims of Salk's heinous, fraudulent vaccine." Walter Winchell, who at his peak reached over 50 million people, warned that one particular version of the vaccine, which contained a live virus, was a "killer".

Bill Would Strip Social Media of Protections for Health Misinformation

Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D., Minn.) introduced a bill Thursday that would strip online platforms such as Facebook Inc. and Twitter Inc. of their liability protections if their technologies spread misinformation related to public-health emergencies, such as the Covid-19 pandemic.

The bill, which Ms. Klobuchar previously telegraphed was in the works, would create an exception to the law known as Section 230, which shields internet platforms from lawsuits for content generated by their users and other third parties.

Should the bill become law—which is far from certain—the Health and Human Services Department would face the task of issuing guidance related to whether the internet posts at issue constitute health misinformation.

Filthy liar! German TV reporter is fired after being caught smearing herself in mud before filming report saying she helped the clear-up efforts in flood-devastated town

A German TV reporter was fired after she was caught smearing herself in mud before filming a report in a flood devastated town this week.

Susanna Ohlen, 39, muddied herself to pretend she had lent a hand with the clean up effort in Bad Munstereifel following heavy flooding that claimed at least 128 lives in Germany.

RTL.de had published an article titled 'Cleaning up after the flood: RTL presenter lends a hand in Bad Munstereifel', which featured Ohlen.

She was caught out after an onlooker posted the incriminating video online on Thursday.

The channel said: 'Our reporter's approach clearly contradicts journalistic principles and our own standards. We therefore gave her a leave of absence on Monday after we heard about it.'

Facebook Moderators Demand Company Shred NDAs So They Can Share PTSD Horror Stories

Dozens of Facebook content moderators from around the world are calling for the company to put an end to 'overly restrictive nondisclosure agreements' (NDAs) which discourage workers from speaking out about horrific working conditions, according to The Verge.

"Despite the company’s best efforts to keep us quiet, we write to demand the company’s culture of fear and excessive secrecy ends today," the group of at least 60 moderators wrote in a letter to Mark Zuckerberg, Sheryl Sandberg and the CEOs of contracting companies Covalen and Accenture. "No NDA can lawfully prevent us from speaking out about our working conditions."

Goodbye, America

July 2021. A month that will live in infamy. If there is such a thing as “history” in the Biden–Orwell–Soros omni-dictatorship, July 2021 will mark the month that the Constitution, the “greatest work ever thrown off by the hand and mind of man,” as Gladstone put it, was thrown into the Ministry of Truth Memory Hole.

It was put into the “History Erase” well. A bottomless pit.

In this month, actually starting with the month before, that the superpowers of the tech world, Google, YouTube, Amazon, Twitter, Facebook, and Yahoo, admitted to working with the Biden/NKVD administration to suppress free speech.

Major US Media Websites, Including WaPo, Fox, and Even Teen Vogue, Invaded by Hardcore Porn Ads

Though it is not entirely clear what led the videos to appear on the media websites, the probable explanation is that all embedded videos of now-defunct Vidme showed the porn site and its content instead of the original videos.

Graphic porn videos have emerged on media websites all across the spectrum, including such respectable news outlets as the Washington Post, New York magazine, Vanity Fair, and even Teen Vogue.

5 Star HD Porn's main page, the company that now reportedly owns the former domain of Vidme, a video hosting project that shut down in 2017, has replaced videos once displaying commercials and news headlines with hardcore pornography.

As a result, non-pornographic websites began to show all kinds of sexual intercourse. It could possibly be a marketing ploy, some figured, as 5 Star HD Porn does not appear to be very popular, based on the low number of video views on its homepage.

Amy Klobuchar introduces bill to make tech companies liable if their users post COVID misinformation and they fail to take it down

Internet platforms such as Facebook and Google will be required to take down vaccine misinformation under proposals announced on Thursday by two Democrat senators.

Amy Klobuchar, senator for Minnesota, and New Mexico's Ben Ray Lujan's bill will add to the stack of legislation going after Section 230 - a law that protects tech companies from being sued over content posted by users.

If the internet platforms do not take down health and vaccine-related misinformation during public health emergencies, they would be held liable for that failure.

The Latest Google Censorship Due to Their Vaccine Investment

Google Is Invested in the COVID ‘Vaccine’

As noted by Webb, YouTube’s parent company, Google, is directly invested in the AstraZeneca/Oxford COVID “vaccine.” While the AstraZeneca jab has been framed as a not-for-profit product, this is far from true. The developers of this gene modification tool are Adrian Hill and Sarah Gilbert with the Jenner Institute for Vaccine Research.

While the Jenner Institute is the official developer of the shot, the actual patents and royalty rights for the AstraZeneca shot are held by a private company called Vaccitech, which was founded by Hill and Gilbert. Vaccitech’s investors include:5,6,7,8

Watch: Capitol Defendant's Attorney Says Detainees Are Being Subject To "Torture!" In Contentious CNN Interview

An attorney for one of the defendants charged with infiltrating the U.S. Capitol building on January 6th alleged that his client and others are being brutally tortured “five miles from the White House” in an awkward interview on CNN Tuesday.

Joseph McBride was asked for comments relating to the eight month prison sentence given to Paul Hodgkins for merely walking into the building and sitting at Nancy Pelosi’s desk.

McBride, who represents another of the accused told CNN host John Avlon that “there are people who showed up to attack the Capitol, there are people who showed up to protest, and there are people who showed up to protest that got involved with the greater events of that day. And it is very important not to lump everybody in, not to define every protester that showed up that day as an insurrectionist — which, by the way, no one has been charged with.”

Ann Coulter: What’s Dumber Than CRT? CNN!

As we discussed last week, “critical race theory” is a subtle philosophical construct where the answer to everything is: THAT’S RACIST! Teachers hawking this glop are being defended by their journalist allies, who sneer that CRT critics are too stupid to understand the nuances of the theory.

The Aristotelian ideal of this sneer was Elle Reeve’s “special report” for CNN—pre-taped to eliminate any danger of Elle being contradicted by someone smarter, such as a 10-year-old.

Biden administration urges Big Tech to intensify censorship and violate the First Amendment

The Biden administration is calling on Big Tech to censor narratives that the government considers “misinformation” about the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19). Misinformation is defined by health officials as information that is false, inaccurate or misleading, according to the best available evidence.

On Thursday, July 15, Surgeon General Vivek Murthy issued the first public health advisory from the administration that supposedly looks to address misinformation and disinformation, as well as their harmful impact on public health.

Murthy told reporters in Washington that he targeted social media misinformation with his first advisory because it “poses an imminent and insidious threat to our nation’s health.”

But critics have quickly decried the effort, saying that the government is effectively telling Big Tech to violate the First Amendment. (Related: If private platforms use government guidelines to police content, is that state censorship?)

Former Pfizer VP Destroys Media Hit Piece Attacking His Warnings About COVID Injection: ‘A Pack of Lies’

Former Pfizer Vice President and Chief Science Officer Michael Yeadon obliterated a Reuters hit-piece “fact check” on him from earlier this year, calling their efforts to smear his claims about COVID-19 and the vaccines “a pack of lies.”

The Reuters article from May, called “Fact check: Ex-Pfizer scientist repeats COVID-19 vaccine misinformation in recorded speech,” called Yeadon an “anti-vax proponent” who “has made unfounded claims” about the health risks associated with the COVID mRNA vaccine.

The article concluded that “infected but symptom-free people can spread the coronavirus; vaccinated people are better protected but not 100% immune; research shows COVID-19 vaccines are safe and effective for adults and pregnant women.”

In a June interview with America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS), Yeadon methodically broke down Reuters’ bad-faith “fact check” about him point by point.

HOW FACEBOOK IS TAKING OVER JOURNALISM WITH $1.6 BILLION SECRET DEALS

There aren’t many companies that can say they’ve poured hundreds of millions into journalism in the last few years. Facebook has — $600 million over since 2018 — and it is promising another $1 billion in the next three years.

Yet when surveying those around the journalism and media world, the jury is still out on whether and how much Facebook’s funding is helping its stakeholders — or merely buying good PR.

A Wrap inquiry into the details of the $600 million found that many of those dollars are hard to track, except in the most general terms. When broken down into the main categories mostly based in the U.S., TheWrap could only specifically verify the expenditure of roughly $122 million — barely one-quarter of the pledged sum — begging the question: Where is the money going?

Taibbi: NPR's Brilliant Self-Own

Yesterday’s NPR article, “Outrage As A Business Model: How Ben Shapiro Is Using Facebook To Build An Empire,” is among the more unintentionally funny efforts at media criticism in recent times.

The piece is about Ben Shapiro, but one doesn’t have to have ever followed Shapiro, or even once read the Daily Wire, to get the joke. The essence of NPR’s complaint is that a conservative media figure not only “has more followers than The Washington Post” but outperforms mainstream outlets in the digital arena, a fact that, “experts worry,” may be “furthering polarization” in America. NPR refers to polarizing media as if they’re making an anthropological discovery of a new and alien phenomenon.

U.S. Regime Media Decides “Inequality” Causing South Africa’s Riots—And It Wants To Bring It Here

The U.S. Regime Media Narrative is consolidating on an explanation for South Africa’s riots: “inequality.” This conveniently avoids the point, brilliantly made recently on Revolver.news, that modern South Africa is explicitly founded on proto-Critical Race Theory i.e. whites are to blame for everything; and the result is a Trumpian sh*thole [South Africa–The First Country Built on “Critical Race Theory”–Officially Implodes, July 16, 2021]. Of course, blaming “inequality” for the violence also adds a useful implied threat to the current drive for "equity" a.k.a Racial Socialism in the U.S. But the fact is that global demographics suggest the U.S. and the West will be importing “inequality” on a massive scale—unless the Era of Immigration is decisively brought to a close.

As happens eerily often nowadays, the new Regime Media talking point emerged everywhere on cue, almost as if somebody circulated a memo:

Facebook now says medical studies published in peer-reviewed journals are FAKE NEWS if they conclude things that globalists don’t want you to know

Mark Zuckerberg has ruled that a peer-reviewed study identifying the health dangers of wearing a face mask will not be allowed on the Facebook platform.

The paper in question was published in the highly reputable Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA), revealing that masking schoolchildren exposes them to dangerously high intake of carbon dioxide (CO2).

According to “Dr.” Zuckerberg, this simply cannot be true information because it goes against what Tony Fauci said at one point before flip-flopping a few times concerning the matter.

Facebook has decided that any news outlet or page that shares this “controversial” JAMA study will see its “overall distribution reduced” on the platform, or “be restricted in other ways.”

Referring to the study as “false news,” Facebook says the only acceptable form of “science” that can be shared on the platform is the kind that says masks are totally safe and magically effective at fighting the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19).

“We’ve Got To Fight Disinformation,” Says Empire Made Entirely Of Disinformation

The weirdest thing about the Biden administration tasking itself with the censorship of “disinformation” on social media is that the United States is the hub of a globe-spanning empire that is built upon a foundation of disinformation, maintained by disinformation, and facilitated by disinformation. -- If the propaganda engine of the US-centralized empire ceased actively deceiving the public about the world, it would collapse immediately. Shocking leaked files once again expose BBC as insidious UK foreign policy tool

A newly released raft of government papers has revealed the British Broadcasting Corporation’s extensive involvement in spreading pro-London, pro-EU, and pro-NATO messaging across the Balkans.

In February, classified documents revealed that BBC Media Action (BBCMA), the ‘charitable arm’ of the British state broadcaster, was embroiled in a number of clandestine operations to “weaken the Russian state's influence,” funded by the UK Foreign Office.

The exposure raised serious questions about the BBC’s international reputation as a ‘neutral’, ‘objective’ purveyor of news, and what implications its murky relationship with Whitehall has for its output more widely. A further tranche of leaked files, related to covert UK actions in the Balkans, amply reinforces that the organization serves as a cloak-and-dagger device for achieving London’s foreign policy goals.

Twitter suspends Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene for spreading covid-19 misinformation

A Twitter spokesperson confirmed Monday evening that the company had taken “enforcement action” on Greene’s personal account for violations of its policies.

Greene tweeted Monday that the novel coronavirus was “not dangerous for non-obese people and those under 65.” More than 600,000 people in the United States have died of covid-19.

Former Pfizer VP Says Mainstream Media ‘Fact Checks’ Are ‘a Pack of Lies’

When it comes to the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19), there is no such thing as “asymptomatic transmission” or “variants.” These are completely made-up concepts that have no basis in reality, and yet anyone who tries to tell the truth about it is chided by the mainstream media for spreading “misinformation.”

Reuters is doing this to Dr. Michael Yeadon, a former vice president and chief science officer at drug giant Pfizer. For daring to claim that much of the plandemic rhetoric is a pile of pseudoscientific garbage – and it is – Yeadon has been labeled an “anti-vax proponent” who is making “unfounded claims.”

A “fact checker” article analyzing Yeadon’s claims says that he has created “a mixture of straw men and sheer invention” by revealing that asymptomatic transmission is a lie, and that the idea of variants is just “idiotic.”

That Viral 'Protest' Photo of Cuba Is Actually From May Day 2018

Protests against the Cuban government have been taking place this week, with many conservatives in the U.S. circulating photos and video of the demonstrations. But not everything that’s going viral out of Cuba is actually from this week. In fact, one photo isn’t even from this year.

Have you seen this photo of an enormous march in Havana, Cuba? It’s circulating on right-wing social media channels as proof that the Cuban people are sick and tired of the Communist government. But the photo is actually a few years old. And, ironically, it’s a rally where the participants are decidedly pro-Communism.

In its clarity report published Wednesday, Twitter said established accounts of 199 journalists and news outlets on its program met 361 legal orders from governments to block content in the second half of 2020, up 26% from the first half of the year.

The biannual report on Twitter's implementation of system rules and the information and removal requests it gets comes as social media companies including Facebook Inc and Alphabet Inc's YouTube face government review worldwide over the content released on their platforms.

The Guardian: Regurgitating the Russia-Gate Canard

The UK Guardian, and particularly Luke Harding, lead author of Thursday’s Kremlin papers appear to show Putin’s plot to put Trump in the White House, are heaping still more discredit on what was once a respectable newspaper. This long story (long in both senses of the word) regurgitates "what are assessed to be leaked Kremlin documents" and adds a bit of drama by quoting an ex-UK ambassador to Russia calling the documents "spell-binding."

The story is all too familiar; this time, however, we are supposed to believe the all-out effort to help Trump is enshrined in purloined "Kremlin papers," which are unbelievably (literally) prescient – clairvoyant, actually. So much so, that they might have been written in the last month or two.

White House ‘flagging’ posts for Facebook to censor over COVID ‘misinformation’

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Thursday the Biden administration is identifying “problematic” posts for Facebook to censor because they contain “misinformation” about COVID-19.

Psaki disclosed the government’s role in policing social media during her daily press briefing after Surgeon General Vivek Murthy called on companies to purge more pandemic posts.

The demand for censorship — and Psaki’s admission of government involvement — follows a series of flip-flops from health officials who contradicted themselves throughout the pandemic on issues such as mask efficacy, as well as censorship of claims that later gained credibility, such as the theory that COVID-19 leaked from a Chinese lab.

'Nobody should trust Wikipedia,' its co-founder warns: Larry Sanger says site has been taken over by left-wing 'volunteers' who write off sources that don't fit their agenda as fake news

Wikipedia can no longer be trusted as a source of unbiased information since the online encyclopedia's left-leaning volunteers cut out any news that doesn't fit their agenda, according to the site’s co-founder.

Larry Sanger, 52, co-founded Wikipedia in 2001 alongside Jimmy Wales, said the crowdsourcing project has betrayed its original mission by reflecting the views of the ‘establishment.’

He said he agreed with the assessment that ‘teams of Democratic-leaning volunteers’ remove content that isn’t to their liking, including information about scandals linked to President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden.

Youtube Finally Penalized For Censorship

YouTube was punished with 100,000 euros (around $118,115) over the weekend in a German court for lifting a video of a coronavirus lockdown protest in Switzerland.

After the Dresden Higher Regional Court in Germany demanded an injunction directing YouTube to re-upload the video in April 2020, the video platform neglected the ruling for nearly a month before complying on May 14, a "deliberate and serious violation," the court found, according to free speech group Reclaim the Net. YouTube told the court the video required it to be removed because it disrupted the company’s "medical misinformation policy," which YouTube has broadened since the outset of the pandemic to push content that includes claims about COVID-19 vaccinations that oppose health authorities' guidance. The court reportedly rejected this argument.

Surgeon General Urges Tech Giants To Censor COVID-19 Dissidents

The Biden administration is pressuring tech giants to punish any COVID-19 dissidents guilty of spreading what they label as “misinformation” with excess censorship and surveillance.

In a new report titled “Confronting Health Misinformation,” U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy urges big tech giants to crack down on what he labels “misinformation ‘super-spreaders'” operating on their respective sites.

“Limiting the spread of health misinformation is a moral and civic imperative that will require a whole-of-society effort,” Murthy wrote in the introduction of the report.

Facebook Targets Lina Khan With Attempt To Sabotage FTC Antitrust Lawsuit

Over the past few weeks, the Wall Street Journal's editorial board has turned decidedly negative on President Biden's FTC chairwoman Lina Khan, despite the fact that upping the antitrust pressure on Big Tech has become one of those rare areas of bipartisan agreement.

The unfortunate drawback to bipartisan support for breaking up companies like Facebook (or at least restraining their immense market power) is that there's a group of Democratic and Republican lawmakers who are committed to doing Mark Zuckerberg's and Andy Jassy's bidding.

Twitter Admits To Shutting Down Conservative Accounts

Twitter confirmed on Tuesday that it had mistakenly verified some fake accounts that the social media company has now permanently suspended, months after rebooting its verification program.

The news comes at the same time that the social media giant continues to remove prominent conservatives or prevent the spread of news those on the right want to read.

The company in May relaunched verifications after a yearslong freeze on public submissions for the site's blue check marks, insisting that only "notable" users would be awarded the badge.

"We mistakenly approved the verification applications of a small number of inauthentic (fake) accounts," a Twitter spokesperson said in a statement.

“Naysayers Blame Guns. It’s the Crime, Stupid…”

The media is getting a lesson on the dangers of getting ahead of the facts when it comes to their reporting. This time, they blamed gun buyers for the spike in crime. -- Turns out, law-abiding citizens who buy guns aren’t the ones committing crimes. They’re buying guns because of the rise in crime. Media are getting wrong – again – and quietly backing off their antigun narrative, for the moment at least.

Facebook Promotes Videos Of Transgender Couple Pushing Their Newborn To Suck A Man’s Chest

Facebook is airing and promoting a mini docuseries featuring a transgender couple who want to raise their child as “non-binary” and try to “breastfeed” the infant on a male chest.

In “9 Months with Courteney Cox” which opens with a “Facebook Watch original” label proudly displayed across the screen, the “Friends” star narrates what is supposed to be parents’ journey through infertility, pregnancy, loss, birth, and raising a family. But as the episodes go on, it’s clear that the show also carries a charged agenda at the heart of many cultural debates today.

Season three of the show, which first made its debut on the big-tech platform more than two years ago, features a transgender couple that became naturally pregnant unexpectedly. Ahanu, a female identifying as a male, and her partner Petrona, a male identifying as a female, were caught off guard by the news because they both were using hormone replacement therapy.

If You Think This Is Freedom, You’ve Forgotten What Life Was Once Like

You may feel liberated if you like, but I do not. I can feel the forces of anti-liberation massing for another self-righteous regime of regulation and interference.

We have had one Year of Living Gormlessly. I fear we now face at least one more. And in the Kingdom of the Gormless, the intelligent person is in trouble.

If you think this is freedom, you must just have forgotten what life in Britain was once like.

There was once a time when you could go out to dinner and it wouldn’t feel like a post-mortem or a mad masked ball. There was once a time when you could just drop everything and head for abroad, with nothing but a passport and a small bag.

There was once a time when students studied at university, attending lectures and actually meeting their teachers. Schools were similar.

Facebook blocks Gaza's Shehab News Agency from its platform

Facebook blocked the Palestinian Shehab News Agency from its platform on Tuesday, accusing the news organisation of violating its guidelines.

The news agency, headquartered in the besieged Gaza Strip, extensively covers the Israeli occupation and Israel's violations against Palestinians in Gaza, the occupied West Bank and occupied East Jerusalem.

Before it was blocked from publishing on the platform, Shehab News had over seven million followers on Facebook on its Arabic page.

It currently has over 500,000 followers on Twitter, where it regularly publishes photos and videos from across the occupied Palestinian territories.

The English Facebook page for Shehab News, which is still running, has over 50,000 followers.

BBC inundated with complaints as public confidence in state broadcaster plummets

The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) received an unprecedented number of complaints last year as public confidence in the state broadcaster’s supposed impartiality continues to plummet.

The state broadcaster received 462,255 complaints in the year 2020 to 2021 which according to the BBC’s own annual report is an increase of 93,878 on the previous year.

Some of the more serious complaints against the BBC revolve around its perceived bias in reporting and analyzing news.

1 million homes make switch and stop paying for BBC

One million UK households have stopped paying for BBC services in the past two years, its annual report revealed yesterday.

The dramatic drop in the number of licence fee holders comes as the BBC faces a further revolt from 260,000 pensioners who have declined to make arrangements to pay the £159 fee after free licences for older viewers ended last August.

The corporation blamed the 700,000 drop last year on changing audience habits and said that its enforcement operations have been restricted by the pandemic. It lost 300,000 in the previous year.

Media Release 'Fact Checks' On InfoLib Article Highlighting Biden Kneeling Before Israeli Prez

FOLLOW-UP: The media is furious over my article exposing Biden kneeling before Israeli president Reuven Rivlin and his aide Rivka Ravitz.

They're even more angry that it's unassailable.

AP, Reuters and USA Today all released fake "fact checks" to suppress it. They had to make up things I never said and produce false quotes I never published to attack it.

Regardless, they released new details revealing Biden's kneeling was even more humiliating than I first thought!

According to the Israeli government photographer who took the picture, Biden knelt to Ravitz *after she refused to shake his hand!*

Trump Explains "Why I'm Suing Big Tech" In WSJ Editorial

Following last week's announcement that President Trump was filing a class-action lawsuit suing the CEOs of Facebook, Twitter and Google over allegations of illegal censorship, Trump has published an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal where he lays out his legal team's argument: Big Tech has colluded with government to censor the free speech of the American people, Trump said.

Since social media has become "as central to free speech as town meeting halls, newspapers and television networks were in prior generations." Despite the fact that the internet is "the new public square", Big Tech has become increasingly "brazen and shameless in censoring and discriminating against ideas, information and people on social media - banning users, deplatforming organizations, and aggressively blocking the free flow of information on which our democracy depends."

How Google And Wikipedia Brainwash You

Let’s recap:

In the space of a few months, thousands of YouTube channels and millions of Facebook posts have been deleted.

The former president of the United States’ Twitter account was removed, and, Greenmedinfo, a site that aggregates research on natural remedies, had both their Facebook and Instagram accounts deleted losing over half a million followers.

LinkedIn also joined in on the action by deleting the account of Dr. Robert Malone after he questioned the safety of the mRNA vaccines, the technology for which he himself played a huge part in creating.

Parler was removed from the internet and so was the website of America’s Frontline Doctors after they endorsed non-agenda-approved treatments to combat COVID-19.

More recently, in a move that’s disturbing yet predictable, Facebook has begun sending users creepy messages relating to “extremist content”.

The Julian Assange Media Blackout Must End

A couple weeks back, the US government’s attempt to prosecute Julian Assange for publishing classified material was dealt a major blow. You probably didn’t even hear about it.

Two weeks ago, the Icelandic newspaper Stundin published a bombshell report revealing that Sigurdur Thordarson, a former WikiLeaks volunteer from Iceland whose testimony was key to the US case against Assange, admitted to fabricating accusations against Assange. Those accusations had been featured in the US indictment against the organization’s founder, and they were cited by the British judge who narrowly ruled against Assange’s extradition at the start of this year.

‘Bay of Tweets’: Twitter Permits Anti-Cuba Bot Army Despite ‘Coordinated Inauthentic Behavior’ Rules

The United Nations has voted every year since 1992 to condemn the US 60-year embargo of Cuba, which is responsible for shortages in fuel, medicine, and essential parts on the island that have affected the life of every one of its 11.5 million people. Despite the suffering, the US maintains “sanctions are tools for democracy.”

Even before protests broke out in Cuba on Sunday, a coordinated online campaign to spread anti-Cuban messages had begun circulating on Twitter. Not only does the social media giant appear to be uninterested in stopping it, but it has a history of arbitrarily shutting down Cuban government and media accounts as well.

Trump Says Big Tech Is Out Of Luck

Former President Donald Trump warned on Sunday the while Big Tech has the power to censor people’s speech in violation of the Constitution, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter are not “immune” from the class-action lawsuit he filed against them last week.

“They’re taking away your freedom of speech. They are taking away your right to speak. They’re taking away everything. And they get powers. They have a Section 230, it’s called, and that gives them immunity. That gives them protection,” Trump insisted on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

“They’re immune from so many different things. But they’re not immune from this lawsuit, because what they have done is such a violation of the Constitution, a violation like we have never seen before. … They take me down. They take all conservative voices down, or most of them,” the former commander-in-chief

YouTube has deleted a video uploaded by the American Conservative Union, which hosts the Conservative Political Action Conference, for allegedly violating its terms and conditions about COVID-19, the group said on July 11.

In an emailed statement, the American Conservative Union (ACU) said its video featured former President Donald Trump’s announcement that he would file lawsuits against Google, as well as Facebook and Twitter.

YouTube “issued a strike against” the group’s account two days after the video was uploaded on July 9. The Big Tech firm also “banned the organization from posting for one week,” according to the statement.

Republicans Introduce Plan To Allow Users To Sue Big Tech Platforms Over Censorship

Republican members of the House Judiciary Committee are pushing a plan to regulate social media companies, in part, by allowing users who have been censored to sue the Big Tech firms which they describe as “monopolies.”

“Big Tech is out to get conservatives,” the House Republican members of the committee wrote in a news release about the plan.

The Problem with Wikipedia and the Digital Revolution

Yesterday (April 10, 2019) a reader alerted me to the fact that I am being smeared on Wikipedia as a “vocal supporter of the current Russian government and its policies.” The reader also reports that an article in the Daily Beast calls me a “Putin worshiper.” The reader says that he tried to edit the Wikipedia entry without success, and he urged me to give it my attention.

I do not know whether the person who wrote my Wikipedia entry intended to smear me or is merely uninformed. However, dissenting voices do get smeared on Wikipedia. It is an ongoing problem for many of us. For years readers and people who know me would make corrections to my Wikipedia biography, but as soon as the corrections were made, they would be erased and the smears reinstalled.

A Country That Has Lost Its Way: U.S. Government and Corporations Combine to Strip Citizens of Their Rights

The whole issue of the government spying illegally on its own citizens has again made the news with the claims by conservative commentator Tucker Carlson that NSA has been spying on him, presumably because he has connections that the government regards either as subversive or, in the new reckoning, as “extremists” who are potential “domestic terrorists.” Given the reasonable assumption that anyone who voted for Donald Trump might well fall under those categories, that means that something like half the U.S. population could be under suspicion.
