CURL: Who HAS The Coronavirus Is Not Nearly As Important As Who HAD The Virus

Quercetin: A Made-in-Canada Solution to the Coronavirus Outbreak? The best hope for an antiviral drug may come from Michel Chrétien's Montreal lab

When an Ebola outbreak struck West Africa in 2014, the two scientists teamed up with the National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg to test quercetin’s effectiveness on mice infected with Ebola—and found it effective even when administered only minutes before infection. It still needs to undergo clinical trials.

But when a new global health crisis erupted in Wuhan, China late last year, Chrétien and his team once again got to thinking. They believed the drug might work on COVID-19, which has infected more than 130,000 people and killed 4,700, according to the World Health Organization. They knew a Swiss drug manufacturer, Quercegen Pharmaceuticals, could rapidly produce doses of the treatment in the hundreds of thousands.

Video: US Confirms Deployment of Patriot Missiles in Iraq. Iran Prepares for Conflict in Strait of Hormuz

Al-Kastan is located near the town of Jisr al-Shughur, controlled by the Al-Qaeda-linked Turkistan Islamic Party. The exploded weapon depot likely belonged to the terrorist group or persons affiliated with it.

On the same day, the Turkish military established three new ‘observation posts’ around Jisr al-Shughur. They are located at the villages of Baksariya, al-Z’ainiyah and Furaykah. Idlib militants see Turkish positions as an important defense line that would allow containing possible Russia- and Iran-backed anti-terrorist operations in the area.

The 46th Regiment Base of the Syrian Army in western Aleppo came under Turkish artillery shelling. In response, Syrian forces struck position of Turkish-backed militants near Kafr Amma. The attack on the 46th Regiment Base became a third incident between the Turkish military and Syrian troops in less than a week. On April 3, two Syrian soldiers were killed in a Turkish artillery strike on their positions near Tell Abyad.

Palestinian minister files coronavirus complaint, after Israeli police forced him to wear blood-stained mask

A Palestinian minister in occupied East Jerusalem has filed a legal complaint against Israeli police officers who he said beat him, robbed him, assaulted his wife and son, and forced him to wear a blood-stained mask, during a raid on his home last week.

Fadi al-Hidmi, Palestine's minister for Jerusalem affairs, was arrested last Friday by Israeli police, accused of conducting "illegal activities".

Local media reported that the officers smashed down a door to his home and confiscated 10,000 shekels (around $2,750) that had been earmarked for charity during a police raid last week.

On Monday, he filed a complaint against the Israeli police officers who arrested him during the storming of his home, according to Haarez.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please understand; that for all Palestinians in the Israeli-occupied territory, this kind of behaviour, on the part of Israeli authorities... is absolutely normal.

Israeli Troops Invade Parts of Gaza with Tanks, Bulldozers

Israeli troops reportedly, incurred earlier on Tuesday, into the northwestern part of the besieged Gaza Strip, with tanks and D-9 bulldozers.

Local media outlets and witnesses said that at least four army bulldozers as well as other armored vehicles, incurred several hundred meters deep into a northwestern part of the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahia.

Witnesses added that the invasion took place from the so-called Zekem Israeli military gate.

They also noted that the invading bulldozers embarked on razing of farm lands adjacent to the Israel-Gaza border fence.

No causalities were reported, but some damage was reported to Palestinian-owned farm lands.

Concurrently, another force of Israeli army invaded the southeastern part of Khan Younis city, southern Gaza Strip.

Witnesses said that the invading force opened heavy fire on residents’ homes and farmers in the area, with no causalities reported.

Webmaster's Commentary:

No casualties may have been reported in these two separate incidents, but that does not mean that no casualties actually occurred; the reporting of such incidents, frequently, linger far past the initial attacks.

Pentagon considers new moves, including Stop Loss program, to maintain force amid coronavirus crisis

The Pentagon is considering new steps to retain uniformed service members, including the potential revival of the military's controversial "stop-loss" policy, as the coronavirus crisis limits the arrival of new troops and disrupts its personnel pipeline.

Officials said that implementing the stop-loss policy, employed during the George W. Bush administration as years of grueling combat in Iraq and Afghanistan strained the force, was among the measures being considered but was not the preferred option.

"Given the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the nation as a whole and on the military's ability to recruit and train new service members, the Department is looking at a wide range of options that will ensure enduring national security mission capability," Defense Department spokeswoman Lisa Lawrence said in a statement. Covid-19 is the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. She said there had been no formal recommendation to take that step and no decisions had been made.

National Security State Left US Defenseless Against Coronavirus

Responsibility for pandemic preparation was privatized under the Obama and Trump administrations. It·s time to face down the national security state that wasted trillions on imperial wars and abandoned Americans to fight coronavirus alone.

by Gareth Porter Posted on April 08, 2020

Donald Trump’s failure to act decisively to control the coronavirus pandemic has likely made the Covid-19 pandemic far more lethal than it should have been. But the reasons behind failure to get protective and life-saving equipment like masks and ventilators into the hands of health workers and hospitals run deeper than Trump’s self-centered recklessness.

Webmaster's Commentary:

IF you want to really know how irrelevant you were, and are, to both the previous and current Administrations, just take a look at how this pandemic is being handled, and the "decisions" which led up to this utterly disgusting national failure of preparation.

Corps says Marines won't be allowed to wear N95 or surgical masks, even if they own them

The Marine Corps on Monday ordered all its personnel to start wearing cloth face coverings to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), but restricted Marines from wearing masks with higher levels of protection, such as surgical and N95 masks.

In an administrative message that followed a Pentagon order to wear face coverings, the Corps directed all individuals on its property and installations to wear cloth face coverings that are "conservative in appearance, not offensive, and conform to CDC guidance."

Marines are encouraged to make their own face coverings, but are not allowed to "procure or wear" surgical masks or N95 masks, the message said, since those are "reserved for appropriate personnel."

Webmaster's Commentary:

With the Covid 19 panic well and truly on, one might expect that our Marines would be authorized for state-of-the-art protections, like the N-95 masks; apparently, this is not to be the case.

Pompeo Threatens US Pullout From Afghanistan During Kabul Visit

Pompeo Told Ghani, Abdullah they would be help responsible if no power-sharing deal.

On March 23, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo bad a very unproductive visit in Kabul about the Afghan government’s post-election split. This culminated with the US pulling $1 billion in military aid from them.

The presidential election saw both Ashraf Ghani and Abdullah Abdullah claiming victory, and ultimately both holding inaugurations. Pompeo demanded that they work out a deal, and warned they’ll both be held responsible if they don’t work something out.

That was apparently just the beginning of the cuts, the slashing of $1 billion, with a threat of another $1 billion cut for 2021, was followed by Pompeo threatening to withdraw all US troops from Afghanistan in retaliation if the dispute continued. The State Department had not previously reported that part.

Webmaster's Commentary:

And this threat has worked out just how, please, Mr. Secretary of State, in light of the reality that this last little bit would have been music to both their individual set of ears?!?

CNN’s Chris Cuomo: It’s ‘Bulls**t’ That Trump Wants To Give People Hope Amid Coronavirus

Leftist CNN opinion host Chris Cuomo exploded on Tuesday night over President Donald Trump telling the press today that he wanted to give Americans hope during the coronavirus outbreak.

Apr 08 04:05

Blinded by scary headlines based on irrational speculation—subsequently revised downward and published on page C-23 of corporate newspapers demanding a bailout—the American people have embraced authoritarian measures supposedly imposed to win a battle against an invisible enemy.

We are now beyond the point of no return. The inflicted economic and social damage has already taken a heavy toll and it will get worse the longer health bureaucrats, state governors, and a remarkably clueless president and his apparatchiks demand we stay imprisoned in our homes, frightened of a bug the state and its media have fictionally rendered as an insatiable and inescapable Gorgon of Doom.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Please remember that Bill Gates has vowed to find a vaccine for Covid-19; if he and his researchers are successful, they will call for mandated vaccines of his company's' creation, with these research companies reaping the whirlwind of profits off them, whether they're really safe or not for human consumption.

A new “transport layer” constellation will help distribute tactical data — but won’t have defenses against anti-satellite weapons.

The U.S. military’s push to link every object on the battlefield leaped forward Thursday with the release of a request for proposals to build 20 tactical-communications satellites by 2022.

The year-old Space Development Agency, or SDA, hosted an industry day to tell satellite makers about its plans for “transport layer”: essentially, orbiting communications nodes to transfer data related to intelligence, battle management, navigation and timing; and more.

Webmaster's Commentary:

For these units, which will not be cheap to manufacture and deploy, not to have any anti-satellite weapons, is a true mystery, and appears to be the oddest missing part for this request for proposals.

Duggan acknowledged city officials had “significant debate … about closing parks” but settled on increased patrols, plane flyovers and video surveillance to disperse crowds. The city will begin issuing misdemeanor citations punishable by $1,000 fines and six months in jall, he said.

“We’ve got the resources to deal with these violations,” Duggan said Friday, as some police officers return to work after the department was hard hit by the virus.

“We don’t want to be fining anybody, but we can’t be having these gatherings, we can’t be having folks on the street.”

Duggan announced the crackdown the day after Michigan Department of Health and Human Services director Robert Gordon issued an order allowing police to fine violators up to $1,000 or implement criminal penalties for breaking social distancing rules.

Webmaster's Commentary:

Mike and I are very lucky to be living in the very rural part a state with some sort of horse-sense, about both social distancing, and responsible, reasonable ways to get the numbers of new infections down.

Historically speaking, it is hard for American's to see how their liberties have been taken away. With the COVID-19 pandemic spreading across the country, hopefully that will no longer be the case.

In Crowley, Louisiana police are using "Purge" sirens to warn people to stay indoors during the COVID-19 pandemic.
"In an effort to alert residents to the parish-wide curfew in Acadia Parish, Crowley Police rode around town broadcasting an alarm signal at 9:00 last night, but it's not what anyone expected. In a video provided to KATC, the audible alarm from Crowley Police is actually the alarm sound from the successful film franchise The Purge".
Crowley Police will ticket people for going outside without documentation.
"After several days of this, the police department says they will begin giving out citations to violators. If you are headed to work or leaving work, you must have documentation from your employer."

Webmaster's Commentary:

Welcome to Amerika's super-rapid descent into the dystopian, near post-Covid 19 New World Order; where physical movement is now licensed, and no longer guaranteed by either the Constitution, or the Bill of Rights.
