Thought for the day
"Rights aren’t rights if someone can take them away. They’re privileges. That’s all we’ve ever had in this country, is a bill of temporary privileges. And if you read the news even badly, you know that every year the list gets shorter and shorter. Sooner or later, the people in this country are gonna realize the government … doesn’t care about you, or your children, or your rights, or your welfare or your safety… It’s interested in its own power. That’s the only thing. Keeping it and expanding it wherever possible." -- George Carlin
Fresh off the heels of the kidnapping, sexual assault, and murder of 34 year old billionaire heiress Eliza Fletcher, Memphis is back in the news as a teen goes on a shooting spree, live-streamed on Facebook:
A crazed gunman flashed a wide grin as he was arrested by cops in Memphis, Tennesee, after reportedly going on a shooting spree which he live streamed on Facebook – after being released early for aggravated assault.
Ezekiel Kelly, 19, launched his alleged rampage just before 1am and terrorized the city for more than 19 hours, killing four people and injuring three others.
Has this ever, ever happened in a majority white city across the United States of America, where a TV series is forced to stop production because white people threaten to shoot someone (Alec Baldwin doesn’t count, because he did shoot someone)?
Welcome to life in a 65 percent black city. [Downtown Baltimore film production halted after threats of violence and extortion, police say, CBS Baltimore, August 27, 2022]:
Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser declared the busing of migrants to the nation’s capital a public emergency Thursday as over 9,000 asylum-seekers have arrived in the district since April.
The declaration authorizes Bowser to establish an Office of Migrant Services, which will provide support and services to migrants being sent to Washington DC from Texas and Arizona.
The district will initially allocate $10 million for the creation of the new office and will seek reimbursement from the federal government, according to the announcement.
“This is what we know. The crisis at the border is not lessening. It’s getting worse,” Bowser said at a press conference, adding that she expects “hundreds of more buses” to arrive in the fall.
A female jogger fought off an attacker who grabbed her on a popular hiking trail near Orlando on Sunday — just days after the kidnapping and murder of another runner in Tennessee, police said.
Israel Pagan, 19, grabbed the victim as she ran along the Little Econ Greenway trail around 5 p.m. Sunday, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
The jogger was able to fend off the assault and took a picture of Pagan as the broad-daylight incident unfolded, according to Local 10.
Police used the image to canvass the area and eventually made an arrest.
Pagan allegedly told police that he grabbed the woman by her shoulders and got on top of her before ending the attack.
He also told police he was drunk at the time — and now faces a charge of attempted sexual battery.
Japan is upping the ante in its longstanding simmering tensions with China, given Tokyo leaders have over the past year much more overtly sided with Taiwan amid the crisis which has seen a series of US delegations visit Taipei, most especially Nancy Pelosi's August 2nd visit.
"Japan will expand fuel and ammunition storage facilities on the Nansei Islands in the East China Sea, Defense Minister Yasukazu Hamada told Nikkei on Tuesday, as Tokyo seeks to better prepare for a Taiwan Strait crisis," Nikkei reports.

Recently filed court documents reveal that in March 2020, Facebook founder and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg gave NIAID Director Anthony Fauci his personal cell phone number, just before the social media platform began censoring alleged COVID-19 misinformation.
A £2m wind turbine was knocked over by the wind after raging storms and 50mph gales made the blades on the 300ft rotary turn at twice their normal speed.
The turbine, which was almost the height of St Paul's Cathedral, was torn apart by the raging winds and eventually collapsed to the ground in February.
Families in the nearby village of Gilfach Goch, South Wales, said the noise sounded like 'thunder and lightning.'
An investigation, launched by manufacturer Nordex, found a power failure caused the blades to run in an 'overspeed condition' for more than four hours and rotate uncontrollably in the 50mph winds.
There is nothing like a dead cat bounce to cheer up the already doomed, but the real issues are inflation and dollar strength. Both can be addressed, and the treatment will hurt. Smile and get used to it.
So much to unpack about markets this morning – so apologies its late and it’s going to be short as lots of stuff going on!
There is nothing like a good old fashioned dead cat bounce – like yesterday’s green stock market! The shorts were squeezed, and half-a-dozen market talking heads declared – it’s time to buy again! It’s probably not… One swallow less does not an autumn make.
Even the ECB is on the shock and awe interest rate rising path – so the fight against inflation is very real. Unfortunately, there is the law of consequences – higher rates will go down like a kick in the head across struggling European economies, stirring up political unrest, getting populists elected and reopening the prospect of a full-blooded Euro-sovereign crisis – again. (Got some ideas on that – and it could be a great opportunity to be a contrarian!)
Interest rates are rising, yet the market is still – foolishly – taking the perspective global central banks are probably close to done. I would like a quarter of whatever they’ve been smoking – when inflation was last in double digits like today, during the 1970s, the Fed (under Arthur Burns) thought it could address inflation with gradual interest rate hikes – achieving nothing. It wasn’t till Paul Volker applied a dramatic series of big hikes – 1000 basis points in matter of months – that inflation got the message and finally abated.
Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton head into the final hours of the 2016 presidential campaign with the worst election-eve images of any major-party presidential candidates Gallup has measured back to 1956. Majorities of Americans now view each of them unfavorably on a 10-point favorability scale, a first for any presidential standard-bearer on this long-term Gallup trend. Trump's image is worse than Clinton's, however, with 61% viewing him negatively on the 10-point scale compared with 52% for her.
Gen. Mark Milley, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, on Thursday said Russia’s strategic objectives in its attack on Ukraine have “been defeated.”
“The war is not over, but so far the Russian strategic objectives have been defeated,” Milley said at a news conference alongside Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin at Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
“Despite being outgunned and outmanned, the Ukrainians have demonstrated superior tactical proficiency and they’ve demonstrated a superior will to fight, fight for their own country, fight for their freedom,” Milley added.
Translation: The Ukrainians are not gaining any ground.
We've been hearing that control for the Senate is, at best for the Republicans, a "Toss-Up," and that Democrats are favored to hold onto their majority. On Thursday, though, Decision Desk HQ changed its ratings for what will be North Carolina's open seat from "Toss-Up" to "Lean Republican."
Republican Ted Budd, who is running for the seat currently held by retiring Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC), now has a 65.8 percent chance of winning compared to Democrat Cheri Beasley, who has a 34.2 percent chance winning. This is the highest chance Budd has had since his 71 percent chance of winning from August 9.
According to the World Economic Forum (WEF) and its allied Great Reset minions, a traditional whole food diet is not only “unsustainable” but “environmentally destructive.”
A recent “food analysis” in The Guardian1 took aim specifically at organic pasture-fed beef and lamb, lambasting such farming practices for their extravagant land use while underperforming in terms of yield:
“Arable crops, some of which are fed to farm animals, occupy 12% of the planet’s land surface. But far more land (about 26%) is used for grazing: in other words, for pasture-fed meat and milk. Yet across this vast area, farm animals that are entirely pasture-fed produce just 1% of the world’s protein.”
Animal foods in general, and organically produced ones in particular, The Great Resetters claim, must be replaced with produce genetically engineered for high yield and pest resistance, and protein alternatives made from insects, plants and synthetic biology. Overall, life on earth cannot be sustained, they say, unless we transition to what amounts to an ultraprocessed and highly unnatural diet.
A paper2 published in the September 25, 2022, issue of the Journal of Cleaner Production throws The Great Reset’s talking points in the proverbial trash, but before we get into that, let’s review some background material.
Republican Senator Chuck Grassley (Iowa), the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, questioned whether federal prosecutors have all of the relevant evidence they need to make a case against Hunter Biden after an FBI agent accused of suppressing evidence retired.
Seventeen states may be required to follow California’s mandate to ban the sales of almost all gasoline-powered cars by 2035 and to require the purchase of electric vehicles — even though some states are already struggling to meet current electricity demand.
In 2020, just weeks after California suffered rolling blackouts due partly to a lack of energy from renewable sources, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) announced that he would force drivers to move to electric vehicles and ban gas-powered car sales as of 2035.
The regulations for that policy were finalized last month by the California Air Resources Board (CARB), to which many other states have linked their own emissions policies, since California is often the most ambitious state regarding pollution and climate change.
As a result, Fox News notes, seventeen states are on the hook to follow California’s policy — though some states are already showing misgivings about the plan:
Social media giant Snap reportedly made an “error” that gave leading Democratic campaigns and party committees access to a huge repository of Republican voter data, allowing them to tailor their midterm ads.
Axios reports the social media giant Snap claims to have made a mistake that allowed top Democratic campaigns and party committees to tap into a huge repository of Republican voter data, allowing them to hone and tailor their midterm ads.
Snap says that it is working hard to fix the issue and ensure it doesn’t happen again. But the situation brings to light the vulnerabilities of Snap’s internal systems and the sensitivities of having access to huge amounts of voter data.

One of mass shooter Ezekiel Kelly’s victims from Wednesday night’s massacre has been identified as a young medical assistant named Allison Parker.
As previously reported, Memphis police announced Wednesday night they had taken into custody Ezekiel Kelly, the accused 19-year-old mass shooter livestreaming his shooting spree.
"Memphis police officers Thursday night were frantically searching for a duo who posted a video online threatening to kill white people," Breaking 911 reports.
In the 1970s, I met one of Hitler’s leading propagandists, Leni Riefenstahl, whose epic films glorified the Nazis. We happened to be staying at the same lodge in Kenya, where she was on a photography assignment, having escaped the fate of other friends of the Fuhrer.
She told me that the ‘patriotic messages’ of her films were dependent not on ‘orders from above’ but on what she called the ‘submissive void’ of the German public.
Did that include the liberal, educated bourgeoisie? I asked. ‘Yes, especially them,’ she said.
I think of this as I look around at the propaganda now consuming Western societies.
Of course, we are very different from Germany in the 1930s. We live in information societies. We are globalists. We have never been more aware, more in touch, better connected.
Are we? Or do we live in a Media Society where brainwashing is insidious and relentless, and perception is filtered according to the needs and lies of state and corporate power?
After traveling in Los Angeles traffic to more than a half-dozen booksellers, NPR found a copy of the "2,000 Mules" tucked into a shelf of the "Current Affairs" section at a Barnes & Noble in the San Fernando Valley.
The book does not appear to suffer from an obvious production error which might explain the delay; a misaligned photo, incorrect page numbers or blank pages.
The book does, however, regurgitate the content of the film "2,000 Mules" including misleading claims, which have been thoroughly debunked by fact-checkers and critics across the political spectrum. Former Attorney General Bill Barr called the film's underlying premise "indefensible."
Despite those flaws, "2,000 Mules" has emerged as a leading theory for supporters of Trump's baseless claim that he actually won the 2020 election. For Trump and some of his most diehard fans - among them candidates for public office - the project has served as "proof" of the stolen election.
Webmaster: Clearly, 2000 Mules has struck fear into the heart of the deep state!
A new report finds that tech firms are using highly skilled freelancers and independent workers more frequently to cope with the talent shortage.

The Great Resignation continues to wreak havoc over a year later, with 44% of tech founders and executives reporting that “a significant number of their top performers” have left their company, according to a newly-released report from A.Team and MassChallenge. Factor in early-stage startups and that figure jumps to 53%.
“Since The Great Resignation began last spring, it’s been a source of fascination in tech, which has seen the highest resignation rates among all industries,’’ according to the report, citing a 2021 Harvard Business Review article that said resignations in tech increased by 4.5%.
Here’s the thing: Poland can’t go to war with Russia, because it is a member of NATO. If Poland goes to war with Russia, that means the United States, Britain, and Germany, among others, all have to join in. So instead of having an irrelevant war that no one cares about in Eastern Europe, you have a world war.
There is virtually no chance that if NATO went to war with Russia, China wouldn’t join in to aid Russia, because Russia has become a massive buffer state for China (in more ways than just geographically, though part of that is geographic).
NATO’s resolve to have us freezing in the dark and subsisting on insect-based concoctions from Bill Gates’ Hell’s Kitchen deserves our urgent attention. Why are German burghurs reduced to foraging for wood in forests and stripping the planks off park benches? Why are Poles, who live in a country with vast coal deposits, paying extortionate prices for coal, whenever they can get it? What about Russophobic Ireland, which has no emergency oil reserves and which depends for its electricity top ups on Britain, which likewise depends on Norway, which has warned Britain that they can no longer support them? Are we all going to freeze in the dark?
Why is Bill Gates, who is America’s largest land owner, telling us to eat synthetic foods? What is all this about replacing our traditional diets with cockroaches, grasshoppers and other fare that is more attuned to the palates of mice than of humans? Why is Ireland slaughtering its national herd and herding its humans into its cities, where American multinational companies dictate the exorbitant rents they must pay to live there?
No matter how one views British Royalty, but one fact cannot be denied, in the times of British politics turning into the tawdry freak-show, Elizabeth II was projecting what is sorely lacking today both in UK and in the West--the class. We can give her that, at least. Not to mention the fact of many Brits sincerely loving her. So, the Queen is dead, long live the King. But, of course, the death of Elizabeth II has a very strange unintended consequences for... Ukraine. Kiev regime is dependent on Western media publicity and, in fact, is in serious business (together with major Western media outlets) of faking most of it military "victories" which then are used as the only argument in Kiev's begging the combined West for weapons and money. But Queen's death definitely removes Ukraine (for now) to the status of secondary issues. This photo also speaks volumes:
Top secret NATO documents were published on the dark web as a result of the cyber attack on the General Staff of the Portuguese Armed Forces, Portuguese publication Diario de Noticias said.
According to the publication, the General Staff was subjected to a large-scale hacker attack, the purpose of which was to steal classified materials. It goes about hundreds of documents.
The Portuguese government learned about the fact of the attack from US intelligence, which found the documents on the darknet and established their origin.
It remains unknown when the attack took place. It was only said that the US embassy reported the attack to the Prime Minister of Portugal back in August. NATO will certainly demand an explanation from Portugal, Diario de Noticias said.
Meanwhile, experts are trying to assess the extent of the damage that the leak caused NATO.

The EU has weaponized the supply of European energy on behalf of a financial racket, against the interests of European industry and consumers.
When Green fanatic Robert Habeck, posing as Germany’s Economy Minister, said earlier this week “we should expect the worst” in terms of energy security, he conveniently forgot to spell out how the whole farce is a Made in Germany cum Made in Brussels crisis.
Flickers of intelligence at least still glow in rare Western latitudes, as indispensable strategic analyst William Engdahl, author of A Century of Oil, released a sharp, concise summary revealing the skeletons in the glamour closet.
Everyone with a brain following the ghastly Eurocrat machinations in Brussels was aware of the main plot – yet hardly anyone among average EU citizens. Habeck, Chancellor “Liver Sausage” Scholz, the European Commission (EC) Green Energy VP Timmermans, EC dominatrix Ursula von der Leyen, they are all involved.
On August 2, President Biden created a special group to combat monkey pox, which was headed by the head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency Robert Fenton, who was named White House National Monkeypox Response Coordinator. Demetre Daskalakis the White House National Monkeypox Response Deputy Coordinator.
Dr. Demeter Daskalakis, turned out to be gay and a lover of BDSM. The doctor openly talks about his orientation on Twitter and other social networks, sharing photos from gay parties, gay parades etc.
In his statements, he draws attention to the fact that monkey pox is most actively spreading among representatives of the LGBT community.
In August 2022, the US authorities declared an emergency due to the spread of monkeypox. The United States came out on top in the world in terms of the number of people infected with this infection.
