"Of all the enemies to public liberty war is, perhaps, the most to be dreaded because it comprises and develops the germ of every other. War is the parent of armies; from these proceed debts and taxes… known instruments for bringing the many under the domination of the few.… No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare." -- James Madison
James Baker, the former FBI lawyer involved in approving the faulty Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant used to spy on the Trump campaign, also helped censor the Hunter Biden laptop story, according to a series of tweets posted by Rolling Stone contributing editor Matt Taibbi.
The Biden Administration’s International Energy Affairs advisor Amos Hochstein said Monday on CNBC’s “Squawk Box” that the administration drained the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) in part to help save the “global economy.”

Pfizer Chief Executive Officer Albert Bourla has once again declined to testify before the European Parliament’s special COVID committee.
That’s strike two.
"Since the October COVID hearing, we have no further information to share with the Committee, so respectfully decline the invitation to again revisit these issues," states the letter from Bourla dated December 2 and seen by POLITICO.
Bourla previously pulled out of an appointment to testify before the committee in October, at which he was expected to face tough questions on how secretive vaccine deals were struck. That decision followed an audit report into the EU's vaccine procurement strategy that raised new questions about contact between the pharma CEO and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen that preceded a multibillion-euro vaccine contract.
Canada intends to send more warships to pass through the Taiwan Strait to demonstrate that the waters claimed by China are international, Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly said on Monday.
“We will continue to enforce the international rules-based order when it comes to the Taiwan Strait. And that’s why also we had a frigate going through the Taiwan Strait this summer, along with the Americans, [and] we’re looking to have more frigates going through it,” Joly said in an interview with Financial Times.
According to the minister, Canada will increase the number of frigates stationed in the Indo-Pacific region to three, as well as deploy an additional number of diplomats and military attaches. In total, 400 million Canadian dollars ($298 million) will be invested in the region’s security.
CBS News anchor Margaret Brennan floated a “plea deal” for First Son Hunter Biden while asking former Attorney General Eric Holder how he would handle the case if he were still in charge of the Justice Department.
On Sunday’s edition of Face the Nation on CBS, Brennan referenced an October report that FBI agents claim they’ve gathered sufficient evidence to charge Mr. Biden criminally. In asking for Holder’s take, Brennan raised the possibility of a plea bargain for President Joe Biden’s son:
MARGARET BRENNAN: As someone who’s been an attorney general, I wonder as well, how you think about the case before the U.S. District Attorney in Delaware regarding President Biden’s son Hunter. CBS has reported the FBI has sufficient evidence to charge him with tax and gun related crimes. How would you handle this? A plea deal? Is the Attorney General boxed in to take a hard-line position because of working for the President?
HOLDER: No, I mean, you have- they left in place, the Republican, the Trump-appointed U.S. Attorney in Delaware to consider the case. You’ve got career lawyers working on it, career FBI agents. You want to listen to their recommendations and then again, make a determination based on the facts and the law. The defendant should not be treated any more harshly because of who he is, who he is related to, should not be given breaks because of who he is or who he is related to. He should be treated as former President Trump should be treated, just like any other American citizen. If there is culpability, that person should be held liable for his or her acts. And if there is not a basis for a case, a case should not be brought.
The Daily Wire reports Megyn Kelly told blasts Will Smith and other celebrities blaming ‘Childhood trauma’ when they behave badly to “Go tell it to your therapist.”
During Kelly’s recent episode on “The Megyn Kelly Show” podcast, she was speaking with “Ruthless” podcast members about Smith’s sharing how he had to “forgive” himself for slapping Chris Rock because “hurt people hurt people.”
Kelly shared her opinion and said, “I’m sick of these Hollywood people thinking we give a damn about their childhood traumas when they behave badly.” “Just say you’re sorry, and people either will forgive or they won’t. Go tell it to your therapist, go sit on the damn sofa for the guy who charges $700 an hour and work it out with him.”
Kelly continued with, “I don’t give a s***.” “You assaulted a guy and humiliated him who was just standing there doing his for what? For nothing. to boost your own ego. So [I] don’t really care about your self-analysis or how hard it’s been for you to forgive
The Department of Defense (DOD) confirmed China’s “ambitious” acceleration of its nuclear program in a report Tuesday, but experts disagree whether the development presents a growing threat to the U.S. as the Pentagon struggles to update and expand its own aging arsenal.
This winter, Switzerland may have to ban the use of electric vehicles (EVs) if its current energy crisis worsens, as part of a new four-step plan to avoid power outages. If Switzerland runs out of energy this winter, electric cars won’t be allowed to be used for “non-essential” trips.
Leading establishment Republican Dan Crenshaw found himself in hot water on Friday. The Federal Elections Commission (FEC) discovered the congressman illegally fundraised during the 2020 election cycle and hit him with a major fine.
Just hours after we find out that the Hunter Biden laptop not only wasn't "Russian disinformation", but rather was being actively covered up by social media, another "conspiracy theory" that wound up costing tons of honest truth seekers their social media accounts (including Zero Hedge, who was first to talk about the lab leakall the way back in February 2020), is inching closer toward being validated as reality.
That's because a scientist who formerly worked at the Wuhan Institute of Virology has now gone on record and has said that COVID was "man-made" and leaked from the lab.
The claims are according to the Post, who cited The Sun, who was provided a copy of the scientist’s forthcoming book.
The gravity of the allegations, which I have written about at length over the last year, would make the global Covid-19 pandemic cover up among the most stunning lies ever perpetrated on modern humanity.
The whistleblower, epidemiologist Andrew Huff, called the lab leak the “biggest US intelligence failure since 9/11". He detailed his allegations in his book “The Truth About Wuhan".
Sam Bankman-Fried, the CEO of FTX cryptocurrency exchange, announced in May that he would donate “north of $100 million” and up to a “soft ceiling” of $1 billionfor the Democrat candidate running against President Donald Trump in the 2024 race.
After two power substations in North Carolina came under gunfire on Saturday, tens of thousands of customers are without power. Outages are expected to last until Thursday, according to Duke Energy.
The twin attacks took place shortly after 7pm Saturday in Moore County, a rural area about 90 miles east of Charlotte. The area is popular among retirees and is home to the golf mecca of Pinehurst.
As temperatures were expected to dip to 30 degrees, more than 35,000 customers were still without power late Sunday night, according to poweroutage.us. That's 56% of the county's customers. Meanwhile, a Southern Pines town manager told the News & Observer that the outage has already caused several accidents, including a four-vehicle collision that sent four to a hospital with minor injuries.
James Woods was once an A-list Hollywood actor, having appeared in films like The Onion Field, Casino, and Be Cool, even though his conservative politics placed him out of step with the entertainment industry.

On Tuesday, lawyers from the offices of Attorneys General Eric Schmitt of Missouri and Jeff Landry of Louisiana deposed FBI Supervisory Special Agent Elvis Chan as part of their lawsuit against the Biden administration. That suit accuses high-ranking government officials of working with giant social media companies "under the guise of combating misinformation" to achieve greater censorship.
Chan, who serves in the FBI’s San Francisco bureau, was questioned under oath by court order about his alleged "critical role" in "coordinating with social-media platforms relating to censorship and suppression of speech on their platforms."
During the deposition, Chan said that he, along with the FBI’s Foreign Influence Task Force and senior Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency officials, had weekly meetings with major social media companies to warn against Russian disinformation attempts ahead of the 2020 election, according to a source in the Missouri attorney general's office.
Those meetings were initially quarterly, then monthly, then weekly heading into the presidential election between former President Donald Trump and now President Biden. According to a source, Chan testified that in those multiple, separate meetings, the FBI warned the social media companies that there could be potentially Russian "hack and dump" or "hack and leak" operations.
