House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) led a congressional delegation to Armenia, from where she slammed on Sunday Azerbaijan’s “illegal” attacks on the country.

Pelosi’s visit came after clashes erupted on the Azeri-Armenian border in the heaviest fighting in the region since the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war. A ceasefire has held since Wednesday, but over 200 troops were killed in the flare-up.

Armenia said the fighting was started by massive Azeri shelling, while Azerbaijan claims it was responding to attacks on the border. Pelosi said it was clear that Azerbaijan was the aggressor, saying the fighting “was initiated by the Azeris and there has to be recognition of that.”

Webmaster addition: There is something very weird going on here. Nominally, the US has sided with Azerbaijan while Armenia is close to Russia. Is Pelosi trying to lure Armenia towards the US, or simply starting another front against Russia?

Marine Le Pen, the leader of the National Rally faction in the lower house of France’s parliament, has slammed Paris’ participation in the anti-Russian sanctions as a geopolitical mistake.

"France has made a geopolitical mistake by taking part in the inapt and ill-considered sanctions against Russia," she said at a party conference on Sunday.

According to Le Pen, the European Union’s policy is becoming "imperial." "Brussels’ dangerous and belligerent position is being more and more repelled by those forces in the member countries who give priority to national interests," she said, adding that this tendency is being seen in the moods of voters in Sweden, Italy, and the Netherlands. She recalled that in the June elections in France her party has won seats in 80 constituencies. "It was our biggest success in the 50 years of the party’s existence," she stressed.

Western countries’ supplies of long-reach artillery and rocket systems to Ukraine make them accomplices of Kiev’s crimes against civilians, Russia’s First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations Dmitry Polyansky said on Sunday.

"Providing Kiev regime with long-reach artillery and rocket launchers makes our Western ex-partners accomplices of NaziUkraine’s crimes against civilians," he wrote on his Twitter account.

"It’s disgusting that weapons supplies is a lucrative business-project for US and UK. Where are notorious "Western values"?," he noted.

Bill Clinton, 76, said that Republicans are only able to 'close' in midterm elections because 'they scare people' into thinking they need to vote in right-leaning politicians.

The former Democratic president said that his party could hold onto the House and Senate in November's election if they 'say the right things' – suggesting that Republicans are better at embellishing to make their cause seem more dire.

While early predictions pointed to a Republican bloodbath in the 2022 midterms, more recent polling has shown Democrats and the GOP at a tie or close to one when asked which party likely voters would rather see control Congress.

An often-repeated historical pendulum pattern shows Congress flipping to the opposite party than a new president in the midterms two years after they are sworn into office.

President Clinton, who was in office from 1993 to 2001, thinks the pattern can be broken this year.

Police in Bremen, Germany have arrested at least one man in possession of a fully operational U.S. "Stinger" anti-aircraft system -  originally sent to Ukraine as military aid - which ended up on the black market.   This is one of the most deadly, accurate, and fully portable systems in the world!

A Stinger missile, fired from the shoulder of any single man, can hit and destroy an aircraft flying up to 15,000 feet, and up to five miles away!

It has been previously reported that an enormous amount of weapons being sent to Ukraine by the United States have been stolen by Ukrainians, and then offered for sale on the black market.  In fact, it is now an open secret that only about thirty percent (30%) of the weapons sent, actually make it to the Ukraine military!

Webmaster addition: Remember, you originally paid for that!

This decree was also supported by Poland and the rest of the Baltic States. Meanwhile, Vilnius made exceptions for certain categories of Russians, including diplomats, representatives of the opposition, employees of shipment companies moving cargo to other EU states, and family members of people who have EU residence permit or citizenship.

This morning, September 18, 2022, in the far southwestern region of Ukraine, the first snow fell in the Carpathian Mountains.  Winter is coming, and soon, western Europe will be plunged into a COLD, DARK, deadly time . . . because Europe has sanctioned Russian natural gas and oil; and will freeze to death from their own actions!

Here is brief video of the first snow falling in the Carpathian Mountain area of western Ukraine.

The SCO summit this week offers much welcome hope for a saner, more peaceful world.

The 22nd summit this week of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization explicitly and unreservedly promotes peaceful partnership and multilateralism – in stark contrast to the de facto Western worldview of hegemony and endless conflict.

The SCO summit, held on Thursday and Friday, saw the leaders of 15 nations convening in Uzbekistan, which is hosting the gathering this year. The venue in the ancient city of Samarkand is quite fitting. It is one of the oldest cities in Asia and was a key hub in the centuries-old Silk Roads for trade and human interaction.

The Ukrainian army has detained seven students from Sri Lanka and taken them to an unknown destination, the head of the region’s military-civilian administration Vitaly Ganchev has said.

"Seven citizens of Sri Lanka, who studied at the Kupyansk Medical College, have been detained and taken to an unknown destination. Given the notorious methods the Ukrainian special services employ, we do not rule out provocations against the military-civilian administration of the Kharkov Region," he said.

Ganchev previously said that Ukrainian forces and foreign mercenaries were torturing and shooting civilians in their zone of control. He stressed that this was happening in many places, including Izyum, Kupyansk, Veliky Burluk and Volchansk. He pointed out that it hard to say if those responsible for torturing and humiliating civilians were regular army soldiers, members of nationalist battalions or Ukraine’s security service SBU, but "there are now quite a few people who do not speak Russian or Ukrainian."

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he had agreed with Russian President Vladimir Putin to "cautiously proceed with" discussions on grain and fertilizer supplies via the maritime corridor in the Black Sea.

"We are undoubtedly engaging in talks with corresponding states on all types of products coming from both Russia and Ukraine. It can be grain products and fertilizers. There have been no problems in the negotiation process. During our meeting with Mr. Putin, we agreed to cautiously proceed with this process," the Turkish leader was quoted as saying by the TRT channel after the summit in Samarkand.

The Turkish leader went on to say that he, together with Putin,"spoke in favor of using the grain corridor for the benefit of poorly developed nations."

"Naturally, President Putin emphasized this issue as well. In the future, we will closely monitor the supply process so that the corridor would benefit poorly developed nations as much as possible," he added.

International partners provided $17.422 billion of financing to cover Ukraine's state budget deficit in the period from the end of February to September 13, which amounts to 52% of the $33.325 billion of aid that they have announced.

Grants amounted to $8.524 billion or 48.9% of the funds received, Ukraine's Finance Ministry reported on its website.

The largest amount of support has been promised by the United States and the European Union: $12.99 billion and $11.6 billion, respectively. However, while the U.S. has already provided $6.99 billion or 54% of the promised amount, and all in the form of grants, the EU has provided $2.426 billion or 21%, of which only $144 million as grants, the ministry said.

Governor Ron DeSantis’ (R-FL) political operation has raised a historic $177.4 million, more than any other governor in history, and that was before he sent 50 illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard last week, which erupted into the top national news story.

Open Secrets reported that a review of state campaign finance records showed DeSantis’ re-election campaign has raised more than $31.4 million since January 2021, while DeSantis’ state-level PAC, Friends of Ron DeSantis, has raised $146 million since January 2019.

DeSantis’ massive political war chest has likely grown since he sent 50 illegal immigrants to the Martha’s Vineyard, a wealthy leftist enclave, last week, sparking left-wing outrage as he drew attention to President Joe Biden’s border crisis.

Things have got worse since 2008. African-Americans and Latinos are routinely the victims of arbitrary arrest, incarceration and inhumane exploitation in America’s profit driven private prisons.

California has adopted legislation which bans the private prison industry from operating in the state.

“The move will probably also close down four large immigration detention facilities that can hold up to 4,500 people at a time.

The legislation is being hailed as a major victory for criminal justice reform because it removes the profit motive from incarceration. It also marks a dramatic departure from California’s past, when private prisons were relied on to reduce crowding in state-run facilities.

Private prison companies used to view California as one of their fastest-growing markets.” (The Guardian, September 13, 2019)

In FY 2018, DHS received $3 billion for custody operations. At least 75 percent of the detention facilities for which DHS contracts are privately owned or operated. Despite this level of funding, conditions at these detention centers remain dangerous, and detainees’ rights are routinely violated.

The Department of Justice issued 40 subpoenas allowing federal agents to seize the private cell phones of two close allies of former President Donald J. Trump.

Trump adviser Boris Epshteyn and campaign strategist Mike Roman had their phones seized as part of the probe into the Jan. 6, 2021, D.C. protests.

The subpoenas are for records or communications from people who organized, spoke at or provided security for Mr. Trump’s Jan. 6 rally at the Ellipse. They also requested information about any members of the executive and legislative branches who may have taken part in planning or executing the rally, or tried to obstruct, influence, impede or delay the certification of the presidential election.

Charlie Kirk, a commenter and TV host, tweeted with a video of Democrat Senators objecting to the results of the 2016 presidential election “How many of these Democrats who objected to counting Trump’s Electoral Votes in 2017 have been subpoenaed by the DOJ?

The Republican National Committee (RNC) joined the North Carolina Republican Party in a lawsuit filed in state court last Friday against the North Carolina State Board of Elections (NCSBE) and six of its officials.

The lawsuit centers around a recent deadline extension for absentee ballots issued by NCBSE, as well as guidance issued by the Board in 2016 that requires an “at-large” observer to work at a voting site for at least four hours before they can be replaced.

“The NCSBE continues to undermine the democratic process with unlawful rulemaking and further restrict the rights of election observers, threatening the integrity of our elections,” RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel stated in a Sept. 9 press release.

Democrats need to “kill and confront” the America-first Republican movement. That’s the strategy Sen. candidate Tim Ryan (D-OH) believes his party should employ against the evil supporters of former president Donald Trump.

Ryan made these comments during a Tuesday interview with MSNBC, where he was making the argument as to why he should be elected over his opponent, JD Vance (R-OH), in the upcoming senatorial election.

Ryan, the incumbent and in office since 2003, emphasized the importance of working with “normal mainstream Republicans.” One can only assume he’s referring to RINOs such as Lindsey Graham and Mitch McConnell.

An opinion piece published by the World Economic Forum lauds how “billions” of people complied with “restrictions” imposed as a result of lockdown, suggesting they would do the same under the guise of reducing carbon emissions.

The article is titled ‘My Carbon’: An approach for inclusive and sustainable cities’ and was written by Mridul Kaushik, Mission Director, Smart Cities Mission, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs of India.

The subject of the piece is how to convince people to adopt “personal carbon allowance programs” given that such schemes have so far been largely unsuccessful.

However, Kaushik notes that improvements in tracking and surveillance technology are helping to overcome “political resistance” against such programs.

Writing that “COVID-19 was the test of social responsibility,” Kaushik commends how, “A huge number of unimaginable restrictions for public health were adopted by billions of citizens across the world.”

The negotiations to revive the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) between Iran and the P5+1 (China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Germany) are, to use a current term, “under medical supervision.”

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian declared that a successful agreement requires Washington’s “realism and determination.” United States (U.S.) Secretary of State Antony Blinken said a deal is “unlikely.”

France, Germany and the United Kingdom said they would consult with their partners about Iran’s “continued nuclear escalation and lack of cooperation.” And the United Nations said flexibility from all parties is necessary.

Israel’s spy chief added that the Jewish state won’t “stand idly by” while Iran forges ahead with its nuclear program.

A common refrain from people who are critical of alternative economists is that we have been predicting crisis for so long that “eventually we will be right.” These are generally people who don’t understand the nature of economic decline – It’s like an avalanche that builds over time, then breaks and quickly escalates as it flows down the mountain. What they don’t grasp is that they are in the middle of an economic collapse RIGHT NOW, and they just can’t see it because they have been acclimated to the presence of the snow and cold.

Economic decline is a process that takes many years, and while you might get an event like the market crash of 1929 or the crash of 2008, these moments of panic are nothing more than the wreckage left behind by the great wave of tumbling ice that everyone should have seen coming far in advance, but they refused.

In 2022 the job of warning people is far easier than it used to be because we are well past the midpoint of the process of decline. But, believe it or not, I still get people today who claim that we analysts are “doom mongers.” The power of willful ignorance is truly amazing. It’s enough to make a person blind to stagflationary crisis, supply chain disruptions, quickly inflating prices, stock market carnage, bond market instability, record consumer debt, and international conflict.

At this point, I think if a person can’t see the dangers ahead they are probably a waste of time and space and are destined to be buried in the ice; there’s nothing that can be done for them. Yes, there are some people out there that don’t get exposed to the information and we have to take them into account, but my priority will be people that are awake and aware and try to give them a sense of what point in the collapse process we find ourselves.
