Thought for the day
"Nothing is more certainly written in the book of fate than that these people are to be free. Nor is it less certain that the two races, equally free, cannot live in the same government. Nature, habit, opinion has drawn indelible lines of distinction between them." -- Thomas Jefferson
Joe Biden’s Justice Department subpoenaed Trump’s former White House lawyer Eric Herschmann, Politico reported.
A Texas Department of Family and Protective Services employee has been fired after encouraging a 14-year-old foster care youth to enter the sex trade.
Last June, Florida Representative Matt Gaetz informed millions of Americans for the first time during an appearance on Jesse Watters' show that the IRS has been loading up on guns and ammo for quite some time now - and that it's continued during the pro-gun control Biden administration.
"Call me old-fashioned, but I thought the heaviest artillery an IRS agent would need would be a calculator. I imagine the IRS in green eyeshades and cubicles — not busting doors down and emptying Glock clips on our fellow Americans. Certainly it's troubling that in 2022 alone, the IRS has spent around $725,000 on ammunition. So here's the Biden plan: Disarm Americans, open the border, empty the prisons — but rest assured, they'll still collect your taxes, and they need $725,000 worth of ammunition, apparently, to get the job done," he told Watters.
"And there was a report that showed over a 10-year period, the IRS actually stockpiled $11 million worth of ammunition" he added.
Tucker Carlson also covered the story earlier this month after Gaetz introduced a bill to disarm the IRS, and noted in his coverage that the IRS had spent $20 million on guns and ammo between 2006-2019.
PolitiFact's Jeff Cercone decided to cover the revelation in a fact check titled "No, Biden is not arming up the IRS with guns and ammunition."
Bizarrely, Cercone confirms the figures that Gaetz cited, but then arbitrarily decides it doesn't matter because the IRS has been doing this for a while, actually. "The division’s spending on ammunition this year is on par with previous years and less than what was spent a decade ago" writes Cercone, irrelevantly. Gaetz and Carlson both acknowledged that this spending wasn't unique to the Biden administration.
The beta male is real — and he has low testosterone and votes Democrat.
Two former Minneapolis police officers charged in George Floyd’s killing told a judge Monday that they have rejected plea deals that would have resulted in three-year prison sentences, setting the stage for a trial in October.
Asha Rangappa, a CNN analyst and former special agent with the FBI, received blowback after apparently equating a pilot saying ‘Let’s Go Brandon’ to one announcing their allegiance to ISIS.
The problem began when left-wingers had a collective meltdown over the weekend, after a journalist claimed that a pilot for Southwest Airlines on a Friday morning flight from Houston to Albuquerque concluded announcements over the intercom with the mundane phrase.
‘Let’s go Brandon’ represents a more palatable euphemism for a more vulgar phrase: ‘F*** Joe Biden.’
The details of Monday’s FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago, the Florida home of former President Donald Trump, keep getting more interesting.
Bruce Reinhart, the federal magistrate judge who signed off on the search warrant for Trump’s residence donated to former President Barack Obama’s presidential campaign, and at one point, went from prosecutor to defense attorney to defend individuals connected to financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
House Republicans on Monday sent letters to top officials in the Biden administration demanding they preserve and hand over documents related to the FBI raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.
Eighteen Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee sent the letters to Attorney General Merrick Garland, FBI Director Christopher Wray, and White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain.
“The FBI’s unprecedented raid of President Trump’s residence is a shocking escalation of the Biden Administration’s weaponization of law-enforcement resources against its political opponents,” each letter begins.
“The American people deserve transparency and accountability from our most senior law-enforcement officials in the executive branch,” it continues. “We will settle for nothing but your complete cooperation with our inquiry.”
Today is the one-year anniversary of the fall of the Afghanistan government to Taliban terrorists in Afghanistan.
For some reason Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin still leads the Defense Department following the worst foreign policy disaster in US history.
Today the Taliban controls Afghanistan, is encroaching on nuclear Pakistan and is armed with over $80 billion in US military equipment.
At the end of July, The Gateway Pundit reported on our legal efforts to unseal the list of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex clients – the men and women with whom Epstein traded sex with minors for favors or money or both.
TGP Lead Counsel Marc Randazza of the Randazza Legal Group and TGP General Counsel John Burns moved to intervene in the Ghislaine Maxwell case in the Southern District of New York.
However, in the last week, something truly bizarre and unexpected happened.
An anonymous John Doe – literally styled by his lawyer as “John Doe” – filed an objection to TGP unsealing the sex client list … and the Court SIDED WITH THE JOHN DOE over the interests of the press and public to know what happens in one of the most remarkable court cases in US history.
“This just seems odd,” said TGP Attorney Marc Randazza. “An anonymous party – not any actual party to the suit – is the only one who cared enough to file an objection, and the Court took their position, even without ruling on whether the John Doe could proceed anonymously.”
President Joe Biden and the Democrats were busy doing a victory lap for Friday’s passage in the House of the so-called “Inflation Reduction Act.”
The bill, mostly a tax hike and hundreds of billions in spending on “green” energy that also includes price controls for some prescription drugs, notably contains no provisions relating to monetary policy or interest rates. This had led skeptics to point out that the bill would likely do little or nothing to address inflation.
Even the mainstream media is getting in on the act:
It’s been a week since the FBI conducted a dramatic raid on former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate. After revelations that the FBI removed 11 sets of classified documents – to include four sets classified as “Top Secret” – speculation has abounded about what could be in these classified papers.
As usual, the media has been eager to gobble up and broadcast the scrumptious and salacious accusations from those in the intelligence community who have crawled out from their book writing to gab about the former President. These articles attempt to set a scene for the American people of a former Commander-in-Chief who obviously is guilty of… well, something.
You can almost hear the desperation in every word of these articles. While there is no argument that the former President was certainly unconventional regarding governance, I’m not entirely sure the intelligence community has the best credibility.
WHAT? Individuals impersonating Internal Revenue Service (IRS) employees are making unsolicited threatening telephone calls to taxpayers. They use the threat of arrest to obtain money from victims by falsely representing that the victims owe back taxes or other fees. The perpetrators demand that the victims send them money via iTunes cards, other prepaid debit cards, money orders, or wire transfers from their banks.
WHO? The perpetrators are individuals who falsely claim to be IRS employees and tell intended victims they owe taxes and must pay using an iTunes card, other pre-paid debit card, money order, or wire transfer. Some of them are in the United States; however, there is a strong international component to this crime as well.
WHEN/WHERE? Since October 2013, TIGTA has received reports of these fraudulent calls in every State in the country. The perpetrators are calling with multiple caller IDs from around the world. The top five States with the most losses are: (1) California – more than $10 million; (2) New York – more than $4 million; (3) Texas – more than $4 million; (4) Illinois – more than $3 million; and (5) Florida – more than $2 million.1
With increased age comes the increased risk to develop cancer or dementia. Both conditions share similar risk factors such as hypertension and diabetes. Many cancer patients experience cognitive impairment from cancer and its treatments with symptoms similar to dementia.
But are these only similarities, or does a cancer diagnosis predispose patients to developing dementia? Prior literature indicates a lower risk of dementia after a cancer diagnosis and vice versa. However, studies of the long-term effects are lacking.
As part of her dissertation at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health, Mackenzie Fowler, Ph.D., conducted a retrospective study to evaluate the long-term relationship between the two conditions. Results published in the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease showed dementia patients with cancer history demonstrated better cognition at dementia diagnosis and declined slower than dementia patients without cancer history.
An online job posting for special agents within the law enforcement branch of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is causing a stir on social media, as Congress prepares to pass a spending bill that would greatly expand the federal agency.
A link to a job posting for "Criminal Investigation Special Agents" appeared to have been briefly deleted on Wednesday, following online criticism of the posting's language, though it reappeared back online after a FOX Business inquiry to the agency.
A "key requirement" for applicants is that they have to be "legally allowed to carry a firearm," and "major duties" include "Carry a firearm and be willing to use deadly force, if necessary" and "Be willing and able to participate in arrests, execution of search warrants, and other dangerous assignments," according to the job posting.
The requirement that agents be willing to use "deadly force, if necessary" drew heated criticism online, although the same language appears in job postings for other law enforcement agencies, such as the FBI.
"The IRS Criminal Investigation special agent job announcement continues to be open on USAJobs and has not/was not taken down. USAJobs is where these positions are posted and where applicants are referred to in order to apply," an IRS spokesperson told FOX Business.
Practically everyone I've talked to, from pregnant mothers, to the elderly, to men like my friend are back to business as usual as far as seeking medical treatment. In fact, for many of them business never stopped. They continued seeing their doctors, their surgeons, their "medical experts" all through the virus hoax and they continue to do so today.
Just when I thought I'd seen it all, just when I thought I'd seen the very height of stupidity, I now see people flocking to their doctors and nurses, back to the very people who spent two years pushing the hoax, the very people responsible for the murder and mutilation of millions, the very people who tried to kill them.
I feel like I'm living on another planet, in an alternative universe. How can anyone trust a doctor, a nurse, or anyone involved in the medical profession ever again?
Short of a gunshot wound or broken limb, I will never, ever, ever go to a doctor or hospital again. Doing so is akin to signing your death warrant.
My friend, who considers himself smarter than the average person, is an idiot. He let some quack doctor stick a swab up his nose, completely ignorant of how dangerous that is. (Is the nasal swab the Mark of the Beast?)
People don't even know who they are anymore.

First lady Dr. Jill Biden has tested positive for Covid-19 and is experiencing mild symptoms, her spokesperson said Tuesday.
“After testing negative for Covid-19 on Monday during her regular testing cadence, the First Lady began to develop cold-like symptoms late in the evening. She tested negative again on a rapid antigen test, but a PCR test came back positive,” said Elizabeth Alexander, her communications director.
The first lady, who is double vaccinated and twice boosted, is taking Paxlovid, Pfizer’s antiviral drug, according to Alexander, who told CNN that Biden received her second booster shot in April.
Unbelievably, billions of people around the globe think cancer is something you get because you’re genetically predisposed or just unlucky. Then, once they get it, they think the only chance they have to beat it is surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatments. That’s the absolute worst choice they could ever make. Other people know they can avoid cancer entirely if they filter chemicals and known carcinogens from their daily intake, including what they eat, drink, put on their body and inhale.
Webmaster addition: My theory is that white laboratory coats cause cancer!
Amid surging layoffs in the real estate market, a collapse in homebuilder sentiment, soaring mortgage rates and plunging mortgage applications, it is hardly a surprise that analysts expected a drop in Housing Starts and Permits in May (-2.1% MoM and -1.3% MoM respectively), but those numbers were again destroyed as Housing Starts crashed 9.6% MoM and Permits plunged 3.3 MoM.
In absolute SAAR terms, housing permits dropped to the lowest level since Sept 2021 while start collapsed to levels not seen since Feb 2021.
Russia's Defense Ministry on Tuesday confirmed a rare act of what appears to be a Ukrainian sabotage operation in Crimea. This after video emerged online showing a series of explosions after a fire engulfed a munitions depot there.
"On the morning of Aug. 16, as a result of an act of sabotage, a military storage facility near the village of Dzhankoi was damaged," the ministry said. "Damage was caused to a number of civilian facilities, including power lines, a power plant, a railway track as well as a number of residential buildings. There were no serious injuries," it added.
The incident happened near the Crimean village of Mayskoye in the Dzhankoi district. Two civilians were reportedly injured, but local reports said they were not life-threatening injuries.
In the first week of August, at a moment Chinese military drills surrounding Taiwan were kicked into high gear following House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's ultra-provocative visit to the self-ruled island, the White House had announced the Pentagon postponed a routine test launch of an Air Force Minuteman III nuclear-capable intercontinental ballistic missile.
The Air Force's initial scheduled launch date from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California had been delayed, it was announced Aug.4, with the explicit reasoning being the need to avoid any unnecessary escalation of tensions with Beijing, also at a moment a USS carrier strike group was in regional waters near China.
But overnight, that test has now been carried out successfully, showcasing what the Air Force Global Strike Command Airmen has said is a major nuclear deterrent in America's arsenal.
In a statement Tuesday the command said it "launched an unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile equipped with a test re-entry vehicle from Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, Aug. 16 at 12:49 a.m. Pacific Time to demonstrate the readiness of U.S. nuclear forces and provide confidence in the lethality and effectiveness of the nation’s nuclear deterrent."
At a moment tensions over Taiwan are still boiling, and after six months of the Russian war in Ukraine, the command stressed that "Such tests have occurred more than 300 times before, and this test is not the result of current world events."
US cotton prices continued to surge above the boom days of 2010-11 after a massive crop estimate cut by the USDA, shocking Wall Street analysts and traders, due primarily to a megadrought scorching farmland of Texas, according to Bloomberg.
Futures in New York for December delivery were up 4.5% to $1.1359 a pound and up more than 21% this month.
"I don't think you can put a top on prices right now," Louis Barbera, the managing partner for VLM Commodities, told Bloomberg.
"I have been going to Texas for more than ten years, and this is by far the absolute worst I have ever seen, said Barbera.
What Barbera is referring to is the drought situation in Texas. The long stretches of triple-digit temperatures and limited rainfall this summer have turned vast amounts of farmland to dust, hurting cotton farmers in the South Plains of West Texas.
Last Friday, the USDA's bigger-than-expected cut to domestic cotton crop stunned many on Wall Street. Crop output plunged to 12.57 million bales, the lowest in a decade. The cut also pushed down the US from the world's third-largest producer to the world's fourth.
Former President Donald Trump said the FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida was politically motivated, and that the Democrats had been known for using the Department of Justice to sling mud at Republicans.
“The RAID was Politics, the Midterm Elections, and 2024. It’s another form of Election CHEATING - That’s all the Radical Left Democrats know what to do. They use the FBI & DOJ to try and dirty up their opponents, but the people of our Country are wise to them like never before. Be careful what you wish for!” Trump wrote in a statement on his Truth Social platform on Aug. 13.
FBI agents seized about 20 boxes of items during a raid of Trump’s resort on Aug. 8, along with documents marked as confidential, classified, and top secret, according to a warrant and a property receipt unsealed by Judge Bruce Reinhart on Aug. 12. However, Trump has said that the documents were “all declassified.”
The warrant said the FBI was investigating the former president for possible violation of three different laws, including one that prohibits gathering, transmitting, or losing information related to national defense under the Espionage Act.
The FBI raid has significantly boosted voter enthusiasm. According to a survey released by the Convention of States Action and The Trafalgar Group, 83.3 percent of Republicans, 71.7 percent of Independents, and 55.2 percent of Democrats said the raid increased their motivation to vote in November.
The droughts hitting Europe are impacting everything from food to transportation to the environment.
In Italy, the River Po has fallen two meters below its normal levels, seeing rice paddy fields dry out. Meanwhile, Germany’s River Rhine has become so shallow that cargo vessels can’t pass through it fully loaded, pushing up shipping costs, and France’s Tille River, in the Burgundy region, is now a dried up bed covered in thousands of dead fish.
But Europe’s energy production has also been impacted. As Statista's chart below shows, hydroelectric power has fallen some 20 percent since 2021. This partly comes down to the fact reservoirs have been drying up in countries such as Italy, Serbia, Montenegro and Norway. The latter, according to Bloomberg, usually a major hydroproducer, is even taking the steps to reduce exports in order to prioritize refilling its reservoir’s low water levels so the country can maintain domestic production.

Are you a child suffering from gender dysphoria and in need of puberty blocking chemicals? Well, according to the Tavistock Gender Identity Clinic in London, most little kids need them. And, they operated with impunity from 1983 until this past month. The clinic has recently been shut down by the NHS as investigations mount and public outcry grows over allegations that Tavistock was haphazardly diagnosing children with gender identity disorder even when they were normal.
With the concept of transsexuality being widely promoted by the corporate media, leftist parents, public school teachers and many western governments, it's no wonder so many children are starting to feel like they need to join the trend and signal their virtue. In general, most children want to make the adults around them happy and the pressure to conform to gender identity fads is immense.
Tavistock, the only gender and sex change clinic in Britain, went from treating around 130 child patients per year in 2010 to treating nearly 2400 in 2021. In fact, the clinic was facing overwhelming demand for services by the time it was finally shut down, and numerous proponents of sex change treatment for children argued that MORE clinics like Tavistock would soon be needed.
What changed in the past decade? Not the percentage of people born with gender dysphoria; that would be statistically impossible. The only thing that has changed is that Trans identity politics are now a fad and young people are being specifically targeted with trans propaganda.
Outgoing UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson pushed for a net zero carbon policy by 2050.
Let's discuss the costs.
Please consider Britain’s Net Zero Lesson for the U.S.
Households are likely to see the average bill for electricity and natural gas climb to £4,400 ($5,370) a year in the first half of 2023, according to a report this week from Cornwall Insight, a consulting firm. This is after the regulatory price cap shot up 54% to about £2,000 in April with another 40%-plus increase due in October and further increases after that.
Britain’s median income after direct taxes is £31,400. Skyrocketing fuel prices could push 10.5 million households, or one-third, into fuel poverty next year, says the End Fuel Poverty Coalition. Fuel poverty is when energy costs drag household disposable income below the government’s official poverty line.
That doesn’t include the energy costs households pay indirectly. Businesses, whose prices aren’t capped, have seen electricity costs rise in the past year between 45% and 122% depending on company size, and gas prices between 131% and 185%.
There are several reasons to be short crude oil currently – economic recession in the U.S. and looming recessions in Europe, ongoing lockdowns in China, the vested interest of the U.S. in keeping oil below US$75 per barrel of Brent, to name but three - but the prospect of an imminent new ‘nuclear deal’ between the West and Iran is not one of them.
It is true that the European Union (EU) last week tabled a ‘final text’ of a new iteration of the nuclear deal – the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) – to Washington and Tehran. However, it is equally true, as conveyed at length and exclusively to OilPrice.com last week by several senior political and oil industry sources close to proceedings, that there is virtually no chance of such a deal being done without a massive concession coming from Iran that it is impossible to see the current regime making.
“Nothing has changed in the past few months from when the U.S. decided that Iran was just trying to buy time for its nuclear weapons development program by continuing to submit new clauses to the text of the new version of the JCPOA agreement,” a senior energy source who worked closely with Iran’s Petroleum Ministry, told OilPrice.com.
“And Washington has told everyone else in the P5+1 group [the U.S., the U.K., France, China, and Russia ‘plus’ Germany] that it will not budge from its position on the IRGC, which is aimed – as Iran knows – at destroying the IRGC’s influence, and by extension Iran’s influence – in the world,” he said.
“As far as the U.S. is concerned, everything is now focused on ensuring that Iran does not get the three months it needs to finish the guidance systems it requires, with the help of Russia, to deliver weapons-grade nuclear material in the missiles it already has,” he added.
Wild weather across the western part of the US has sparked one of the worst monsoon seasons in Las Vegas in a decade, while California and parts of the Pacific Northwest brace for a heat dome that could push power grids to the max.
Late last week, intense thunderstorms flooded parts of southern Nevada, including Vegas. Videos on social media show floodwater pouring into at least one casino while parking garages were transformed into rivers. This comes two weeks after another storm wreaked havoc on Sin City.
