COMING UP SHORT THIS MONTH.
Thought for the day
"I just wonder what it would be like to be reincarnated in an animal whose species had been so reduced in numbers than it was in danger of extinction. What would be its feelings toward the human species whose population explosion had denied it somewhere to exist.... I must confess that I am tempted to ask for reincarnation as a particularly deadly virus." -- Prince Philip, in his Forward to "If I Were an Animal" - United Kingdom, Robin Clark Ltd., 1986.
The FBI is purging ‘conservative’ employees and retaliating against bureau whistleblowers, according to Congressman Jim Jordan (OH).
At least 14 FBI whistleblowers have gone to Rep. Jordan with allegations of misconduct and abuse within the bureau under Christopher Wray’s leadership.
Rep. Jordan received new information about retaliation against at least one whistleblower and a ‘purge’ of conservative employees.
Jim Jordan said security clearances of conservative employees are being revoked as punishment.
Michigan State University trustees are set to vote on a resolution Friday that would seemingly put vendors on notice: Support the political agenda of Democratic board members, or forget about doing business with the college.
Passage will trigger an explosive feud with the Republican-controlled Legislature, which holds MSU’s purse strings.
The “Accountability of University Vendors Funding Voter Suppression” resolution, sponsored by Democratic Trustees Rema Vassar and Kelly Tebay, is specifically aimed at the Secure Mi Vote initiative, which would enact Voter ID requirements and other Republican-backed election integrity measures.
Since being named special counsel in October 2020, John Durham has investigated or indicted several unscrupulous anti-Trump informants. But he has spared the FBI agents who handled them, raising suspicions he's letting investigators off the hook in his waning investigation of misconduct in the Russiagate probe.
In recent court filings, Durham has portrayed the G-men as naive recipients of bad information, tricked into opening improper investigations targeting Donald Trump and obtaining invalid warrants to spy on one of his advisers.
But as the cases against the informants have gone to trial, defense lawyers have revealed evidence that cuts against that narrative. FBI investigators look less like guileless victims and more like willing partners in the fraudulent schemes Durham has brought to light.
Notwithstanding his reputation as a tough, intrepid prosecutor, Durham has made excuses for the misconduct of FBI agents, providing them a ready-made defense against any possible future prosecution, according to legal experts.
“In so many of the little places of everyday life in which life is lived out, somehow democracy doesn't exist. And one of the creeping hands of totalitarianism running through the democracy is the Federal Bureau of Investigation… Because why does the FBI do all this? To scare the hell out of people… They work for the establishment and the corporations and the politicos to keep things as they are. And they want to frighten and chill the people who are trying to change things.”—Howard Zinn, historian
That is how the government plans to get rid of activists and dissidents who stand in its way.
This has always been the modus operandi of the FBI (more aptly referred to as the Federal Bureau of Intimidation): muzzle anti-government sentiment, harass activists, and terrorize Americans into compliance.
Indeed, the FBI has a long history of persecuting, prosecuting and generally harassing activists, politicians, and cultural figures.
Back in the 1950s and ‘60s, the FBI’s targets were civil rights activists, those suspected of having Communist ties, and anti-war activists. In more recent decades, the FBI has expanded its reach to target so-called domestic extremists, environmental activists, and those who oppose the police state.
The Federal Reserve has taken a major step in the direction of facilitating an ESG compliant monetary network that effectively acts as a parallel system to that of the Chinese Communist Party’s infamous social credit scoring system.
Dr. Stanley Goldfarb, a professor emeritus at the University of Pennsylvania’s medical school, is giving members of his profession heart palpitations.
Goldfarb, 78, says new “anti-racism” med school policies are lowering standards, reducing students to the color of their skin and corrupting medicine in general — much to the outrage of his fellow faculty members.
“I understand we need to give people more opportunities,” Goldfarb, a trained nephrologist, told The Post. “But there are some things you can’t sacrifice. This focus on diversity means we’re going to take someone with a certain skin color because we think they’re OK, that they can do the work. But we’re not going to look for the best and the brightest. We’re going to look for people who are just OK to make sure we have the right mixture of ethnic groups in our medical schools.”
Ukrainian women soldiers made it to the US Capital to meet American politicians, thank them for their money, share unconfirmed stories of atrocities, and ask for more money. They even brought along injured soldiers from the neo-Nazi Azov battalion.
Update for 5:30 p.m. EDT on Sept. 29: NASA and SpaceX announced today that they're conducting a feasibility study about potentially using a Dragon spacecraft to boost the orbit of, and also possibly service, the Hubble Space Telescope. Read our story about the Dragon-Hubble study here. You can listen to the press conference and announcement above.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern was blasted for comparing free speech online to "weapons of war" in a recent speech to the U.N. that critics called "authoritarian."
At the U.N. General Assembly on Friday, Ardern announced a new initiative "to help improve research and understanding of how a person’s online experiences are curated by automated processes," saying the work, done in partnership with companies and non-profits, will be "important in understanding more about mis- and disinformation online - A challenge that we must as leaders address."
The prime minister acknowledged that calling to regulate speech online in any way can seem problematic.
September’s box office numbers poured cold water on industry hopes that Hollywood is back in full swing by posting the lowest totals since 1997. It did not help matters that a steady stream of “woke” features poured into North American theaters.
Baltimore, Maryland – A federal grand jury has returned an indictment charging Anna Gabrielian, age 36, and her husband, Jamie Lee Henry, age 39, both of Rockville, Maryland, with conspiracy and for the disclosure of individually identifiable health information (“IIHI”), related to their efforts to assist Russia in connection with the conflict in Ukraine. The indictment was returned on September 28, 2022 and unsealed today upon the arrest of the defendants.
Gabrielian is scheduled to have initial appearance at 11:30 a.m. today, in U.S. District Court in Baltimore before U.S. Magistrate Judge Brendan A. Hurson. Henry is also expected to have an initial appearance today, although a time has not yet been set.
The indictment was announced by United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Erek L. Barron and Special Agent in Charge Thomas J. Sobocinski of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Baltimore Field Office.

Israel wants the world to believe that it is a majority Jewish state with a 20% Arab minority and that the Arab population enjoys a good standard of living and full equal rights. And while this is easy to disprove, it is still part of the mainstream discourse on Israel.
It is true that at around two million people, the Palestinian citizens of Israel represent about twenty-one percent of Israeli citizens. However, Israel counts its Jewish citizens regardless of where they reside throughout the country – including the West Bank and East Jerusalem – and all Jewish Israelis are citizens. In contrast, Palestinians are only counted as citizens in certain parts of the country so that the government can present the numbers in a way that looks good.
There are approximately seven and a half million Palestinians living in Palestine and under Israeli control. The total population of historic Palestine is approximately twelve million. One does not have to be a math genius to see that seven and a half is more than twenty percent of twelve. A lot more.
The Pentagon is working to create a new military command devoted to arming and training Ukrainian soldiers, US officials told multiple media outlets, suggesting the effort will effectively “overhaul” the current process for weapons transfers to Kiev.
The command would be based in Wiesbaden, Germany – where the US Army keeps its European headquarters – and be made up of 300 staffers led by General Christopher Cavoli, who heads up the military’s European Command, according to unnamed officials cited by the New York Times and CNN on Thursday.
“The changes, which aim to give a formal structure to what has been improvised since the war’s onset, are roughly modeled on US train-and-assist efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan over the past two decades,” the Times reported.
While the new unit would look to make major alterations to the current train-and-equip program for Kiev, Wiesbaden will remain a key component in the scheme, as most Ukrainian troops currently being instructed on American weapons are doing so in or near the city.
Remember how I’ve been pointing out for years that the New York Times news section often buries the most interesting facts in the second half of an article? Well, today’s Russian spy story doesn’t even mention the most interesting aspect of this story:
The company was an equal partnership.
That partnership is now in ruins and both want a divorce, a court filing says.
“Starting in or about March 2022, the relationship between Rivett and Bitove began to break down and has now been irrevocably impaired,” says a lawsuit filed by Rivett’s companies, against Bitove and his companies.
“Rivett and Bitove have fundamentally different and irreconcilable views,” the lawsuit says. “There is complete deadlock between Rivett and Bitove.”
The unusual solution sought by Rivett is for the company to be sold under a court order and each partner takes his money as he leaves, or perhaps one or the other buys full ownership.
Post Millenial further states, “Police have not released details about how the evidence was obtained or
what the evidence contained.” The same news source further states that Marsh continued to make additional threats to police officers and their families after he was arrested.
Webmaster addition: Sounds like a botched sting operation.
The CDC claims that its recommendation that everyone aged six months and up should get an annual flu shot is firmly grounded in science. The mainstream media reinforce this characterization by misinforming the public about what the science says.
A New York Times article from earlier this year, for example, in order to persuade readers to follow the CDC’s recommendation, cited scientific literature reviews of the prestigious Cochrane Collaboration to support its characterization of the influenza vaccine as both effective and safe. The Times claimed that the science showed that the vaccine represented “a big payoff in public health” and that harms from the vaccine were “almost nonexistent”.
What the Cochrane researchers actually concluded, however, was that their findings “seem to discourage the utilization of vaccination against influenza in healthy adults as a routine public health measure” (emphasis added). Furthermore, given the known serious harms associated with specific flu vaccines and the CDC’s recommendation that infants as young as six months get a flu shot despite an alarming lack of safety studies for children under two, “large-scale studies assessing important outcomes, and directly comparing vaccine types are urgently required.”
The CDC also recommends the vaccine for pregnant women despite the total absence of randomized controlled trials assessing the safety of this practice for both expectant mother and unborn child. (This is all the more concerning given that multi-dose vials of the inactivated influenza vaccine contain mercury, a known neurotoxin that can cross both the placental and blood-brain barriers and accumulate in the brain.)
The German national election held last year must be completely re-run in the city of Berlin as a result of multiple discrepancies plaguing the result, a court in the city has said.
As a result of a wide variety of serious voting irregularities in Berlin, elections that took place in the city last year — including the nationwide general election — must now be re-run in the city, a court declared on Wednesday.
Ranging from a lack of ballot papers, periodic polling station closures and massive queues for people looking to vote, last year’s vote in Berlin has ultimately been described as “a complete systemic failure“, with many fearing that all votes that took place may have to be held again.
Such fears have been given even more credence this week, with Berlin’s Constitutional Court declaring that — in its view — it is necessary that all elections that took place in September 2021 in the city have a do-over.
The organising group "Czech Republic First!" opposes the European Union and NATO and calls for the central European nation of 10.7 million to be militarily neutral.
Protesters held banners like "End the comedy" and many waved Czech flags as the sun appeared after morning rain.
"This government is absolutely anti-Czech. It only serves Brussels (EU centre), American power and NATO. It has no regard for Czech citizens' interests," said Pavel Nebel, 53.
Two weeks ago, a Slovakian survey became a hot potato for the European Union (EU). The representative survey named “How are you Slovakia?” conducted by MNFORCE claimed that more than half of Slovaks would welcome a military victory of Russia over Ukraine.
However, the Slovakian Government has a very different stance from the people as they stand blindly in favor of Ukraine. Slovakia has provided armaments to Ukraine such as howitzers. Slovakia’s president had joined the ranks of those who argued for Ukraine to be given candidate status, etc.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has accused Western governments of interference and attempting to provoke “color revolutions” in countries.
Speaking via a video link with the heads of the intelligent services of the ex-Soviet Commonwealth of Independent States on Thursday, Putin said the West is also trying to provoke a “bloodbath” in other countries.
The Russian leader also said conflicts in the countries of the former USSR, including Ukraine, are the result of the collapse of the Soviet Union.
“It is enough to look at what is happening now between Russia and Ukraine and what is happening on the borders of some other CIS countries. All this, of course, is the result of the collapse of the Soviet Union,” Putin said.
Armed conflicts have returned to various parts of the former Soviet empire.
This video was filmed in a military block in Afghanistan in 2012 and shows Australian commandos discussing plans to meet a 'kill quota' of 10 - as they are preparing for an operation. The “Quota” is also reportedly referred to as kill count. In another clip, an Australian soldier is seen in a moving helicopter, firing at several unarmed Afghan civilians in a residential compound.
Some Australian military forces have also confirmed that compelling evidence exists of Australian soldiers murdering handcuffed detainees and prisoners to add to their kill count.
Here in Kabul, Afghan people and advocates are demanding compensation and accountability for war crimes committed by the NATO coalition, including American, Australian and British forces.
The new footage comes as two years ago, an inquiry found that Australian Special Air Service (SAS) officers were responsible for 39 unlawful killings in Afghanistan. In total, more than 46 thousand Afghan civilians were killed in the US-led war from 2001 to 2021.
Tech giant Bill Gates is now pushing crop seeds that he thinks could help put an end to famine, but while these genetically engineered seeds may be a great advancement, Gate’s past savior complex has to raise caution over his actions.
Our headline about “magic seeds” is not hyperbole. In fact, in a recent op-ed on the Gates Foundation website, Gates himself actually admitted that he has called these genetically manipulated corn seeds “magic seeds.”
“Fourteen years ago, our foundation began supporting a group of African crop researchers. Their goal was to develop a new type of maize — what I started calling ‘magic seeds,'” Gates wrote.
Damascus has spent years accusing Washington and its Syrian Democratic Forces militia allies of siphoning off hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of oil and food out of US-occupied northeastern Syria, and preventing the country from rebuilding from a devastating, decade-long foreign-sponsored conflict.
A 79-vehicle convoy of tankers carrying crude from oil fields in Jazira, northeastern Syria has been smuggled out of the country via the illegal al-Mahmoudiya crossing into northern Iraq, the Syrian Arab News Agency has reported, citing sources in the al-Yaarubiyah countryside in al-Hasakah province.
The reported smuggling activities are the latest since Tuesday, when sources told SANA that 60 more oil tankers had made their way into Iraq carrying stolen Syrian crude.
Two days before that, the news agency reported that an additional 83 trucks, including ‘scores’ of tankers, had crossed into Iraq via the al-Mahmoudiya and al-Walid crossings. Syrian authorities classify the border checkpoints as “illegal” because they remain outside the jurisdiction of the internationally recognized government in Damascus.
