Thought for the day

"Americans deserve the freedom to choose a life without surveillance and the government regulation that would make that possible. While we continue to believe the sentiment, we fear it may soon be obsolete or irrelevant. We deserve that freedom, but the window to achieve it narrows a little more each day. If we don't act now, with great urgency, it may very well close for good." -- Charlie Warzel and Stuart A. Thompson, New York Times

By now, most political analysts agree that the Republicans are likely to win control of the House in the 2022 midterm elections. However, according to Breitbart, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is not among those predicting the GOP pickup. She sat down with Punchbowl News and seemed quite effusive about the Democrats’ chances of not only holding the majority but adding to it.

The German army will start patrolling the streets as of October 1, 2022. Officially, this is not to enforce the new covid measures of Health Minister Karl Lautenbach, but it is of course convenient and it is also quite handy for when things get a bit cold and the Germans revolt.

Germany’s Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht and the Inspector General of the German Army (Bundeswehr), Eberhard Zorn announced a new army unit called “Bundeswehr Territorial Commando (TerrFüKdoBw)”

“With the establishment of TerrFüKdoBw, we are establishing a national territorial leadership capacity across the ‘peace-crisis-war’ spectrum,” the announcement read. “In this way, we are creating the necessary framework conditions to better fulfill our various tasks and continue to make our contribution to the security of our country and the fulfillment of our alliance obligations”

New thermal imaging shows thousands of migrants swarming the southern border in Eagle Pass, Texas, as the White House has reportedly entered panic mode over the over-two million migrant encounters the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has faced this fiscal year.

At least three large groups totaling over 500 attempted to cross in the Del Rio Sector, according to Fox News reporter Bill Melugin. Over 450,000 have attempted to pass in Del Rio so far this year.

The number of migrants crossing the US-Mexico border is nearing 8,000 per day, according to data obtained by NBC. DHS considers its resources to be at capacity when the number is only 5,000 per day.

Lara Logan, the former CBS News reporter and Fox Nation host, has claimed First Lady Jill Biden 'knows that her husband has dementia' and is 'lying to the whole country about it.'

Logan, who was ousted from Fox Nation late last year, made the assertion in an interview with Newsmax TV on Thursday, without offering evidence. President Joe Biden, 79, has strenuously rejected similar allegations in the past.

'You’re never going to see the New York Times doing an article about the fact that Jill Biden is propping up her husband,' Logan told the network's host Eric Bolling.

Cancer begins when genetic changes interfere with the normal replication and replacement of cells in the body. Cells start to grow uncontrollably and may form a tumour. It is the No. 2 leading cause of death in the United States.

Unfortunately, it appears the disease may be on the rise thanks to the experimental Covid-19 injections. Because official U.S. Government data confirms the risk of developing cancer following Covid-19 vaccination increases by a shocking 143,233%.

The Biden administration has decided to turn down a plan by the Department of Homeland Security to mitigate the unrelenting migration crisis — and the move has enraged senior officials.

NBC News reported that the White House is rejecting potential plans laid out by senior DHS officials to alleviate overcrowding at the US-Mexico border, particularly a proposition to fly migrants to the country’s northern border with Canada.

Under the proposal, migrants would be sent to major cities where shelters would be given advance notice in order to properly prepare for the influx.

Some DHS officials at meetings have openly expressed frustration with the White House’s reluctance to transport migrants to cities throughout the country, internal documents and communications reviewed by NBC News state.

Twitter has reportedly failed to adequately police underage pornography across its social network — a mess posing the risk of a federal investigation that could cost the company billions of dollars in fines, The Post has learned.

The embattled social media site — which is in the middle of a court battle with Elon Musk to enforce an agreement to sell him the company for $44 billion — may have broken a so-called consent decree with the Federal Trade Commission when the company reportedly found in an internal study this year that it doesn’t adequately stop underage users from viewing and uploading porn, two former FTC officials told The Post.

Specifically, Twitter executives reportedly found in an internal study the company lacked adequate controls to prevent underage users from both accessing and uploading pornography, according to an Aug. 30 story in the Verge, which cited an internal Twitter team’s findings. Unlike other major social media companies, Twitter allows porn on its site.

The Temple Institute and Boneh Israel made a huge step towards reinstating the Temple service on Thursday when five red heifers landed at Ben Gurion International Airport.

The red heifer was the main component in the Biblically mandated process of ritual purification for impurity that results from proximity or contact with a dead body.  Because the elements needed for this ceremony have been lacking since the destruction of the Second Temple, all Jews today are considered ritually impure, thereby preventing the return of the Temple service. The Temple Institute launched its  Red Heifer program about a decade ago, led by Rabbi Azariah Ariel. But even in Temple times, an animal that fulfilled the Biblical requirements was exceedingly rare. Failing to produce a suitable candidate from ranchers in Israel, The Temple Institute began investigating alternative sources for a red heifer.

While much of the western world are mourning the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the UK’s longest-running monarch, some from her former colonies questioned the dark legacy of the monarchy and her rule. In South Asia, the dissent centres on the Koh-i-Noor.

As soon as the news of the queen’s passing broke, South Asians across the world started asking for the controversial diamond back. The 109-carat Koh-i-Noor – believed to be the world’s most expensive diamond – has been at the heart of an ownership dispute between the British royalty and some of its former colonies. The dispute over the diamond, estimated to be worth $400 million by some and priceless by others, symbolises a larger protest against the British for downplaying the brutality of their 200-year rule and the scale of their loot.

Senior officials at the Department of Homeland Security want President Joe Biden to follow the lead of several Republican governors in relocating migrants, NBC News reported.

Internal documents and communications reviewed by NBC News show growing discord between the White House and DHS officials regarding the southern border as the number of migrants entering the U.S. keeps rising.

DHS officials have presented options to the White House during a recent series of high-level meetings on immigration, NBC News reported Friday.

The choices offered included flying migrants to the country's northern border with Canada to alleviate overcrowding on the U.S.-Mexico border, according to NBC News sources.

Russian nuclear-powered submarines fired cruise missiles in the Arctic on Friday as part of military drills designed to test Moscow's readiness for a possible conflict in its icy northern waters, the defense ministry said.

The drills, named Umka-2022, took place in the Chukchi Sea, an eastern stretch of the Arctic Ocean that separates Russia from the U.S. state of Alaska.

Russia sees its vast Arctic territory as a vital strategic interest and has been building up its military capabilities in the region for years, raising alarm bells in the West.

Russia's defense ministry said on Friday two nuclear-powered submarines – the Omsk and Novosibirsk – fired anti-ship cruise missiles from the Chukchi Sea, hitting targets at a distance of 250 miles.

Lee Boyd Malvo mug shot

Virginia has denied parole to convicted sniper killer Lee Boyd Malvo, ruling that he is still a risk to the community two decades after he and his partner terrorized the Washington, D.C., region with a series of random shootings.

Malvo was 17 when he and John Allen Muhammad shot and killed 10 people and wounded three others over a three-week span in October 2002. Multiple other victims were shot and killed across the country in the prior months as the duo made their way to the nation's capital region from Washington state.

Malvo was convicted of capital murder in Virginia and sentenced to life in prison without parole. But a series of Supreme Court rulings and a change in Virginia law gave Malvo the opportunity to seek parole after serving nearly 20 years in custody.

After flying two planes filled with migrants to the ultra-liberal Martha’s Vineyard, prominent blue voices are taking shots at the Sunshine State gov, accusing him of both human trafficking and kidnapping.

Former Secretary of State and failed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton dropped by MSNBC’s Morning Joe to offer her two cents on DeSantis’ migrant flights.

“I think, Joe, you have laid out the craziness of the time in which we’re living where some politicians would rather not only have an issue but exacerbate it to the extent of literally human trafficking, as you said,” she said. “So many other Americans — I happen to believe still the majority of Americans — are good-hearted and generous and when people end up on their doorstep in need, they’re going to respond. They’ll feed them and house them and the kids in the AP Spanish class will be let out of high school so they can go and translate. That’s the kind of American spirit that we try to celebrate at the Clinton Global Initiative.”

A bipartisan coalition of 18 state attorneys general are calling on President Biden to take "immediate and decisive action" to declare fentanyl a weapon of mass destruction -- arguing that doing so could protect Americans from a "mass casualty event."

In a letter to Biden, the 18 attorneys general -- led by Florida AG Ashley Moody -- note that fentanyl is "exacerbating the death toll increasing exponentially every year for the last several years."

"The purpose of this letter is to propose an unorthodox solution that may help abate or at least slow the crisis’s trajectory while also protecting Americans from a mass casualty event from fentanyl," they say."We ask that you consider classifying illegal fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction or, if you conclude you do not have authority to do so, urge Congress to pass legislation to do so."
