David DePape, the man convicted of attacking and injuring Paul Pelosi with a hammer in October 2022, was sentenced Friday to 30 years in prison. Prosecutors had asked for a 40-year sentence for DePape, who was convicted of breaking into Paul and Nancy Pelosi's San Francisco home in Pacific Heights and attacking Paul Pelosi, then 82, with a hammer in the early morning hours of Oct. 28, 2022.

With Joe Biden sinking in the polls like a corrupt, senile inflatable duck with a hole in the bottom, Democrats are using all their resources to answer one question: Why don’t Americans like Democrat policies when Democrat policies are so great?

The search for answers began after Congresswoman and Conniving Harridan Nancy Pelosi was invited to speak at Oxford University so British students could hear what their language sounds like after you take all the meaning out of it.

Harridan Pelosi told the students that Americans are (and this is a real quote), “Poor souls who are looking for some answers. We Democrats have given them the answers, but they’re blocked by some of their views on guns, gays, and God, by which they mean a woman’s right to choose — and the cultural issues cloud some of their reception of an argument that really is in their interest.”

Now some of the Oxford students felt Pelosi’s words revealed that arrogant Democrat elites are completely ignorant about the ideas of ordinary people, while other students were too busy playing Candy Crush on their phones to hear what she said. But here at home, Democrats immediately decided to find out, why poor American souls won’t accept Democrat answers, when Democrat answers are so great.

Webmaster addition: Well, let's see. Wide  open borders bringing criminals, drugs, and disease. Gay sex being taught in the public schools. Collapsing infrastructure. Soaring inflation. Afghanistan. Ukraine. Israel.

Pelosi suffers from a common Democratic delusion; that their ideas are great but you "deplorables" are just too stupid to understand.

President Biden faced a major setback after the DOJ appointed a special counsel to investigate him. Robert Hur interviewed Biden several times over classified documents he illegally kept at his home and office.

But the special counsel declined pressing charges, due to Biden’s shockingly poor memory.

Hur revealed that Biden performed so poorly during interviews, he would be unable to stand trial. This was a huge blow to Biden’s credibility. Congress requested to see the recordings of these infamous recordings. Now, Biden is doing something Democrats blasted Trump for trying to do.

From Breitbart:
President Joe Biden asserted executive privilege on Thursday over his interview with special counsel Robert Hur to prevent Congress from obtaining his audio recordings.

During the president’s interview with Hur, Biden, 81, experienced mental lapses and “poor memory” at least seven times, according to a transcript obtained by Breitbart News…

“Demanding such sensitive and constitutionally-protected law enforcement materials from the Executive Branch because you want to manipulate them for potential political gain is inappropriate.”

In the recently released BBC documentary Better Off Dead?, disability rights activist Liz Carr interviewed Dr. Ellen Wiebe, Canada’s most notorious euthanasia doctor. Wiebe is also an abortionist and an activist with Dying With Dignity, the euthanasia lobby group seeking to expand eligibility for assisted suicide in Canada even further. Wiebe’s attempted defence of Canada’s euthanasia regime backfired when throughout her interview, she laughed and smiled as she discussed ending the lives of patients.

“I love my job,” she told Carr. “I’ve always loved being a doctor and I delivered over 1,000 babies and I took care of families, but this is the very best work I’ve ever done in the last seven years. And people ask me why, and I think well, doctors like grateful patients, and nobody is more grateful than my patients now and their families.” Her euthanasia patients, it must be noted, are dead. As one disturbed watcher noted on social media: “Enjoying her job a little too much, I felt.” Many others concurred.

Carr pushed Wiebe several times on the threat euthanasia poses to vulnerable populations, but Wiebe was having none of it. “I’ve certainly met people who are no more disabled than I am saying that life is not acceptable in this state,” she said. “And I would say, ‘Hm, you and I are different.’ But not different in the sense of wanting to have some control.” Carr responded: “For me, I’m concerned that giving the option and the right to a group of people puts another group of people at risk. But I don’t feel you see that as a worry.”

Jessica Seinfeld, cookbook author and wife to comedian Jerry Seinfeld, is funding a pro-Israel counterprotest at UCLA—where violence broke out Tuesday night after a mob attacked demonstrators inside a pro-Palestine encampment.

A GoFundMe for the effort, which Seinfeld promoted in an Instagram story this week after contributing at least $5,000, has since made the majority of its donations anonymous. The fundraising page has raised more than $93,000 as of Wednesday and also changed its organizer name and description since launching over the weekend.

The Daily Beast left messages for reps for the Seinfelds.

“I just gave to this GoFundMe to support more allies like yesterday’s at UCLA,” Seinfeld wrote this week. “More cities are being planned so please give what you can. Donations are annonymous [sic]. We will continue to share our light and love, as proud American Jews.”

It’s unclear whether Seinfeld coordinated with the GoFundMe to make donations anonymous after they’d been public earlier in the week. Nor is it clear whether supporters or organizers of this fundraiser were among the 100 or so counterprotesters, some wearing masks, who ripped down barricades or tossed objects including fireworks into the camp opposing Israel’s war on Gaza.

Still, it hasn’t stopped X users from roasting Seinfeld.

The Navy’s ongoing struggle to meet recruitment missions and the Marine Corps’ growing concerns over the shrinking pool of possible enlistees topped a Senate panel’s hearing on personnel issues facing the sea services last week.

The Navy predicts it will be 6,200 enlistees short of its 40,600 recruiting goal for Fiscal Year 2024, Vice Adm. Richard Cheeseman testified. Despite the likelihood of missing the goal, Cheeseman said the Navy is doing “significantly better than what we expected in the beginning of the fiscal year.” Earlier estimates by Navy civilian and uniform officials had the service missing mission by 6,700 enlistees.

“While I remain confident, I must acknowledge that these challenges exacerbate fleet manning shortages, putting additional stress on our force, which could negatively affect readiness and potentially impact future retention, in an environment where retention is ever important,” Cheeseman said in his written statement to the Senate Armed Services personnel subcommittee.

The service added what it missed last fiscal year to the current goal, Cheeseman previously told the House Armed Services personnel subcommittee last month.

“It’s about work requirements in the fleet that we need to maintain so that we can build out of that [hole],” Cheesemansaid at the time.

Chinese President Xi Jinping’s extremely warm reception of President Vladimir Putin yesterday in Beijing sealed the increasingly formidable Russia-China strategic relationship. It amounts to a tectonic shift in the world balance of power.

The Russia-China entente also sounds the death knell for attempts by U.S. foreign policy neophytes to drive a wedge between the two countries. The triangular relationship has become two-against-one, with serious implications, particularly for the war in Ukraine. If U.S. President Joe Biden’s foreign policy geniuses remain in denial, escalation is almost certain.

In a pre-visit interview with Xinhua, Putin noted the “unprecedented level of strategic partnership between our countries.” He and Xi have met more than 40 times in person or virtually. In June 2018, Xi described Putin as “an old friend of the Chinese people” and, personally, his “best friend.”

For his part, Putin noted Thursday that he and Xi are “in constant contact to keep personal control over all pressing issues on the Russian-Chinese and international agenda.” Putin brought along Defense Minister Andrey Belousov as well as veterans like Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and key business leaders.

Since the start of the Gaza war at least 20 ships have been damaged in the Red Sea amid the ongoing Houthi campaign to punish Israel and its international backers. The US-led Operation Prosperity Guardian is something which has retreated from headlines as it has by and large proved ineffective.

US warships patrolling waters off Yemen have shot down dozens, or possibly even hundreds of drones and missiles at this point - while also at times carrying out offensive operations - but the Iran supported Houthis have remained undeterred.

The Pentagon is now readying the next step, sending the USS Harry S. Truman nuclear-powered aircraft carrier into the Red Sea. US military magazine Stripes writes of recent planning: "The nuclear-powered aircraft carrier and its 6,000-some sailors have spent recent months training in the western Atlantic Ocean for that mission — a rare, pre-planned deployment expected to take the ship into a hostile environment."

Yemen's Iran-linked Houthis have announced that they have shot down yet another $30 million American military drone

Footage is widely circulating of what appears to be the wreckage of an MQ-9 Reaper drone in Yemen, but the Pentagon has not yet confirmed.

Houthi military spokesman Brig. Gen. Yahya Saree described that the drone was conducing "hostile actions" over Yemen's Marib province when it was shot down by a surface-to-air missile.

The Associated Press has commented of footage released by the Houthis:

The Houthis later released footage they claimed showed the surface-to-air-missile being launched at night, along with night-vision footage of the missile hitting the drone.

A man, whose voice had been digitally altered to apparently prevent identification, chanted the Houthi slogan: God is the greatest; death to America; death to Israel; curse the Jews; victory to Islam.”

Though the US had not confirmed prior shootdowns in every case, this would mark the fourth Reaper downing by the Houthis since Gaza-related hostilities began in the wake of Oct.7.

The Pentagon is 'proud'... and so is the Biden administration. But the US taxpayer?...

"Today we began delivery of aid from the temporary pier on to the beach of Gaza for further distribution to the people by our partners," US Central Command announced Friday. "This unique logistics capability facilitates the delivery of lifesaving humanitarian aid enabling a shared service for the international community to use to serve the people of Gaza." Below are some of the first overhead images since its completion.

It's "unique" we're told... and only costs about $350 million

But critics have pointed out the grim irony and contradictions which abound in that the Biden administration has very publicly criticized the way that Israel's military is waging war in Gaza (and especially the high civilian death toll) while simultaneously Washington is funding it, ultimately to the tune of billions.

So the US is funding the weapons used to execute the war and risky projects (it remains high risk in that US personnel could come under attack by Hamas) like of US Army-built pier for the sake of delivering humanitarian aid.

In short the US taxpayer is on the hook for both the bombs and humanitarian aid, even as all parties have seemed to essentially give up on finding a political solution or reaching a truce deal.

Republicans this week vigorously pushed legislation in the House of Representatives intended to prioritize weapons to Israel over funding parts of the US government.

The Israel Security Assistance Support Act passed Thursday 224-187, pulling 16 Democrats toward the Republican majority.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has said the legislation is “not going anywhere” and the White House has indicated President Joe Biden would veto it should the matter reach his desk. Generally, however, these two have been enthusiastic funders of Israel’s actions for many decades.

The bill’s summary “specifies that no federal funds may be used to withhold, halt, reverse or cancel the delivery of defense articles or defense services to Israel. Also, no funds may be used to pay the salary of any Department of Defense (DOD) or Department of State employee who acts to limit defense deliveries to Israel.”

At the GOP´s annual Lincoln Reagan dinner event in St. Paul, Minnesota, Trump didn’t mince words as he called into question Biden’s performance during the State of the Union address in March.

“I just wanna debate this guy, but you know – and I’m gonna demand a drug test too, by the way,” Trump said.

“I am. No, I really am. I don’t want him coming in like the State of the Union. He was high as a kite,” Trump added.

When the Supreme Court put the brakes on Harvard’s race-based admissions practices, the backlash from the left was loud. What else is new? However, the bulk of the American people agree with the Supreme Court, and while the left is very loud, they’re actually a vocal minority, convinced they have some moral authority to dictate the rules the rest of us live by. Despite how unpopular the DEI movement is, the left is pushing to reinstate this unfair practice in college and all over the US with a sneaky legislative move. A bill currently slithering its way through Congress will embed racial, gender, and religious quotas into nearly every part of American life—housing, employment, healthcare, insurance, and credit decisions are all on the chopping block—and is set to become battlegrounds for DEI if this new bill passes.

But here’s the kicker: this push is disguised as a bipartisan “victory” for privacy rights. It’s not at all. But it’s so cleverly disguised that once again, Republicans have been duped into believing they’re championing a long-overdue resolution to privacy disputes and have already thrown their support behind it.

A data privacy amendment buried within the Federal Aviation Administration re-authorization bill will allow private aircraft owners to fully block aircraft registration information. Concealing this information will make establishing who owns private aircraft much more difficult, and render aircraft harder to track.

President Joe Biden signed the bipartisan Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) re-authorization bill into law yesterday. Last week, it passed a vote in the Senate 88-4, before going on to pass a vote in the House of Representatives by 387 to 26 on Wednesday. The bill was introduced into the House in June of last year.

On Saturday, May 11, the Jerusalem Post under editor Yuval Barnea came out with a sensational headline:

“UN seemingly halves estimate of Gazan women, children killed.”

The article featured two graphics from the UN, one from May 6 and one from May 8, both clearly noting that approximately 35,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since October 7, but the second specified that bodies that have been able to be identified were under 25,000. Out of these, the breakdown included 52% women and children, as well as 8% elderly. Earlier on, the UN noted that about 2/3 of fatalities are women and children.

Now, the game of genocide denial has begun.

The supposedly benign Jerusalem Post article quickly moved on to “questions of data accuracy,” citing Israel apologia outlets such as AIPAC’s thinktank the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP), and its January report “that showed major discrepancies in the fatality reports” which suggested “manipulation.” The article also cited Abraham Weiner from Tablet Magazine claiming “fake numbers.”

Israel carried out a brutal two-week siege of the hospital in March, leaving a wasteland of destroyed buildings and dead bodies on the hospital grounds. [Getty]

The Israeli army has published a harrowing photo from its recent assault on Gaza's Al-Shifa Hospital, showing doctors, journalists and other civilians rounded up and kneeling with their hands restrained behind their backs.

Ramy Abdu, Chairman of human rights group Euro-Med, shared the image on X , identifying at least two of the detained men.

The photo shows ten visibly frightened men huddled together and wearing the notorious white detainee jump suits, used by the Israeli military in Gaza, with numbered banners around their heads.

"The image includes several doctors, including Dr. Murad Al-Qouqa, head of the orthopedic department, and a number of journalists, including veteran journalist Emad Al-Ifrangi," Abdu wrote.

Israel carried out a brutal two-week siege of the hospital in March, leaving behind a wasteland of destroyed buildings and graves containing dozens of dead bodies inside the grounds.

A World Health Organization delegation that visited the hospital shortly after described it as being reduced to ashes with a foul stench of decomposing bodies filling the air.

Israeli forces killed around 400 Palestinians in and around the hospital during the attack, Gaza's media office said at the time.

The image is chillingly similar ones shared from Israeli operations in Gaza, showing civilians bound and in white jump suits shortly before their transfer to detention facilities where torture and maltreatment are said to be rife.

In December, Israeli forces rounded up dozens of Palestinian men in Beit Lahia, forcibly stripping the men and blindfolding them in the middle of the street. Among those abducted by the army at Beit Lahia was journalist Diaa Kahlout, Gaza bureau chief for The New Arab's Arabic-language sister site Al-Araby Al-Jadeed.

Kahlout, who was held for 33 days, said he was subjected to beatings and torture several times, particularly by agents of the Shin Bet, Israel's internal security agency.

Other civilians held by Israeli forces in Gaza have reported similar treatment, including allegations of sexual assault and torture, sometimes resulting in death.

Claire's Observations:  Your tax dollars at work in Israel;  doesn't it make you feel proud?!?  I would be willing to bet that most of these physicians and journalists will not survive Israeli incarceration;  these physicians and journalists have "...seen too much" of the consequences of Israeli genocide against Palestinians, and therefore must be "neutralized" as "enemies of the State of Israel."

Hezbollah launched the first-ever Lebanese airstrike on an Israeli target on Friday, using a never-before-seen drone for the operation

"In support of our steadfast Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and in support of their brave and honorable resistance, the Islamic Resistance attacked at 1:38 pm on Thursday the Metulla site, its garrison, and its vehicles with an offensive drone armed with two S5 missiles," Hezbollah said in a statement Thursday afternoon, marking the sixth of 13 operations that day.

"When it reached its designated point, it fired missiles at one of its vehicles and the elements gathered around it, killing and wounding them. After that, it continued its assault on its designated target and hit it accurately," the statement added.

Hezbollah released footage of its drone strike on Metulla. Two missiles are seen being fired from each side of the drone, which then descends towards its final target and explodes.

Watch the newly published Hezbollah footage of its first ever "airstrike" operation in action:

Three Israeli soldiers were reportedly injured – with one seriously wounded – in the drone attack. Coinciding with Israel’s brutal assault on Rafah and its relentless attacks across the Gaza Strip, Hezbollah has stepped up its operations in recent days

While it has increasingly deployed the use of attack drones in its operations over the past several months, this is the first time a drone equipped with missiles has been used to attack targets from above – not only since the start of this war but for the first time in Lebanon’s history

Hebrew news outlet Channel 13 noted this week that Hezbollah’s attacks have become bolder and more sophisticated, and are resulting in more Israeli casualties.

In response to Israeli airstrikes on eastern Lebanon the day prior, Hezbollah also announced on Thursday a drone attack on Elbit Systems, the Israel-based international military technology company

Claire's Observations:  One has to wonder if the technology is "home grown", or provided by an outside source?  Either way, it is a dramatic step-up in Hezbollah's capability  to hit Israeli targets.
