"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their Country; but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph." -- Thomas Paine December 23, 1776
From the onset of the Ukraine war, the corporate media, politicians, and all the controlled NGOs throughout America and Western Europe were lockstep in their claim that the Russian military action in eastern Ukraine was unprovoked and unjustified—an act of aggression that could not be allowed to stand.
There was one problem with this propaganda blitz: it was totally untrue. The Deep State—the government elites, intelligence community, and the military establishment—has spent decades threatening and provoking Russia by pushing NATO up against their border.
You do not have to like Russia to see this, and you can detest Vladimir Putin until the cows come home. The fundamental issue remains the same: the Russians view NATO on their border as an act of aggression and a threat to their national security, and we have known this for decades.
Eleven major metropolitan areas in the United States saw median rental rates decline last month, according to an analysis from real estate brokerage Redfin, as economic headwinds and inflationary pressures discourage renters from moving.
From November 15 to 16, the G20 Summit took place in Indonesia, and contrary to Western attempts, Russia was an active and welcomed participant. On the eve of the Summit, the US called for Russia to be isolated, however, what transpired in Bali instead did not live up to Washington’s expectations – the Russian delegation, led by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, was not abandoned despite all efforts and attempts.
Rather, the experienced Russian Foreign Minister was received at the Indonesian holiday island with red carpets and an Honour Guard on the runway. Even a traditional dance was performed for him. In this way, even Lavrov’s reception made it clear that the Russian delegation was a welcomed party to the G20. It is noted that not even US President Joe Biden was welcomed in the same way as Lavrov.
None-the-less, there were still attempts to tarnish Lavrov’s mission in Bali, with the AP news agency falsely claiming that Russia’s top diplomat was hospitalised. This news was then disseminated all over Western media, proving that Western media only wants to take advantage of any situation to spread false information against Russia.
The National Hockey League took some heat over a Tuesday tweet promoting a transgender and non-binary hockey tournament — and a follow-up comment asserting, “Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Nonbinary identity is real.”
“Turkey does continue to suffer a legitimate terrorist threat, particularly to their south. They certainly have every right to defend themselves and their citizens,” National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told reporters.
Turkey launched the strikes in response to a bombing in Istanbul that killed six people, which it blamed on the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) and its Syrian affiliates, including the US-backed SDF. The operations killed members of the SDF, and they reportedly responded by firing rockets into a Turkish district near the Syrian border.
Ukrainian authorities have begun evacuating civilians from recently liberated sections of the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, fearing that a lack of heat, power and water due to Russian shelling will make conditions too unlivable this winter.
Authorities urged residents of the two southern regions, which Russian forces have been shelling for months, to move to safer areas in the central and western parts of the country.
The Supreme Court paved the way on Tuesday for House Democrats to obtain former President Donald Trump’s taxes, denying a request from Trump’s legal team that he be permitted to withhold them from a congressional committee.
Top defense officials in Europe say arms shortages among Ukraine’s Western allies are forcing difficult conversations about how to balance support for Ukraine with concerns Russia may target them next.
NATO members that have sent billions of dollars worth of weapons and equipment are discussing what stockpile levels they need to meet their obligations under the mutual defense treaty. Decisions facing them now could have consequences for their their own security and for Ukraine, in its fight to repel Russia’s nine-month-old invasion.
“When you are continuing to give away ammunition to Ukraine and you have to evaluate and assess the risk you take for your own readiness, you will have to take into account the threat,” the chairman of NATO’s military committee, Adm. Rob Bauer, said at the Halifax International Security Forum this weekend.
The strain on stockpiles is “across the board,” and particularly sharp for ammunition, he said. In the years before some countries donated to Ukraine, they maintained stockpiles at half capacity or less because they saw little risk or couldn’t afford more, and took a “just-in-time, just-enough,” approach to the defense industry.
In a Thursday report, Republican lawmakers described several evidence and whistleblower testimony suggesting President Biden had knowledge of his family’s foreign business activities. The report also said “Committee Republicans are aware of the existence of additional evidence implicating the Biden family business ventures in suspicious activities but have been obstructed in our attempts to obtain that information.”
Earlier this month, America’s top General Mark Milley stated:
You want to negotiate from a position of strength. Russia right now is on its back. The probability of Russia achieving its strategic objectives of conquering Ukraine…is close to zero… Ukraine has had great success, but Kherson and Kharkiv are relatively small. So in terms of probability, the probability of a Ukrainian military victory, defined as kicking the Russians out of all of Ukraine, to include what they claim is Crimea…is not high, militarily… President Biden and President Zelenskyy himself has said that at the end of the day it will be a political solution. If there’s a slowdown in the actual tactical fighting, if that happens, then that may become a window possibly, it may not, for a political solution, or at least the beginnings of talks to initiate a political solution.
General Milley knows Ukraine and the West are running out of time. The impending bloodbath in Ukraine is coming any day as soon as Kiev’s “devil’s playground hell” freezes over – literally. According to an October 16 Washington Post headline, Zelensky in total desperation, is “grabbing [boys and old] men off the street,” frantic conscription by force to put cannon foddered bodies on frontline battlefields soon to be slaughtered by Moscow’s far superior Russian military, now deployed, freshly armed, fully trained, mobilized 300,000 troops. With well over 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers already dead, and an 8 or 9 dead Ukrainians for every one Russian killed, Putin’s winter offensives about to be kicked off in a few days will make mincemeat out of the hapless, untrained Ukrainian conscripts.
Morton Lyon Sahl (May 11, 1927 – October 26, 2021) was a Canadian-born American comedian, actor, and social satirist, considered the first modern comedian. Sahl pioneered a style of social satire that pokes fun at political and current event topics using improvised monologues and only a newspaper as a prop.
Sahl spent his early years in Los Angeles and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where he made his professional stage debut at the hungry i nightclub in 1953. His popularity grew quickly, and after a year at the club he traveled the country doing shows at established nightclubs, theaters, and college campuses. In 1960 he became the first comedian to have a cover story written about him by Time magazine. He appeared on various television shows, played a number of film roles, and performed a one-man show on Broadway.
Television host Steve Allen said that Sahl was "the only real political philosopher we have in modern comedy". His social satire performances broke new ground in live entertainment, as a stand-up comic talking about the real world of politics at that time was considered "revolutionary". It inspired many later comics to become stage comedians, including Lenny Bruce, Jonathan Winters, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Lewis Black and Woody Allen. Allen credits Sahl's new style of humor with "opening up vistas for people like me".
Numerous politicians became his fans, with John F. Kennedy asking him to write his jokes for campaign speeches, though Sahl later turned his barbs at the president. After Kennedy's assassination in 1963, Sahl focused on what he said were the Warren Report's inaccuracies and conclusions, and spoke about it often during his shows. This alienated much of his audience and led to a decline in his popularity for the remainder of the 1960s. By the 1970s, his shows and popularity staged a partial comeback that continued over the ensuing decades. A biography of Sahl, Last Man Standing, by James Curtis, was released in 2017.
DeSantis receives massive Republican support as he gets one standing ovation after another.
During his speech, the Florida governor boasted of his many accomplishments and let Republicans know he was just getting started. We also saw another Republican tease that they might be planning a run for the White House.
Fox News reports, “‘We’ve accomplished more over four years than anybody thought possible,’ DeSantis touted as he delivered the keynote address on Saturday night in Las Vegas at the Republican Jewish Coalition’s annual leadership meeting. This is the first major Republican cattle call in the 2024 White House race.”
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said Tuesday that the incoming GOP House majority will investigate and potentially impeach Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over his handling of the U.S. southern border.
A top London cardiologist who was one of the first to take the COVID-19 vaccine and promote it on British television is warning his colleagues and the public he has evidence tying the incidences around the world of “unexpected” cardiac events in otherwise healthy people to the COVID-19 vaccines.
Dr. Aseem Malhotra made the statement in a video posted Wednesday on Twitter.
“It is my duty and responsibility as a consultant cardiologist and public health campaigner to urgently inform doctors, patients and members of the public that the COVID mRNA vaccine has likely played a significant role of being a primary cause in all unexpected cardiac arrests, heart attacks, strokes, cardiac arrhythmias and heart failure since 2021, until proven otherwise,” he said.
An internationally renowned expert in the prevention, diagnosis and management of heart disease, Malhotra is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and president of the Scientific Advisory Committee of The Public Health Collaboration. He also is an honorary council member to the Metabolic Psychiatry Clinic at Stanford University School of Medicine.
President Joseph Biden on Sunday night declared that an emergency exists in the state of New York and ordered federal assistance to supplement state and local response efforts following the severe snowstorm that began late last week and continued over the weekend.
The approval was in response to New York Gov. Kathy Hochul’s request for a federal emergency declaration for the 11 counties of Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Genesee, Jefferson, Lewis, Niagara, Oneida, Oswego, St. Lawrence, and Wyoming.
The federal emergency declaration gives the state access to federal funding to support ongoing response and rescue operations. Emergency protective measures including direct federal assistance will be provided at 75% federal funding.
The New York State Assembly is not voting on a bill in January 2022 to indefinitely detain unvaccinated individuals at the governor’s will, despite claims being made online.
Users and blogs have referred to a bill (A.416) first proposed in 2015 (here) that aimed to amend public health law “in relation to the removal of cases, contacts and carriers of communicable diseases who are potentially dangerous to the public health” and is viewable (here).
One user said on Twitter: “New York Legislation votes Jan 5 to provide indefinite detention of unvaccinated. What happened to ‘Land of the Free’?” (here).
Others shared a screenshot of a since-updated article published on the website ‘The National Pulse,’ that claimed the New York Senate and Assembly would be voting on such a bill on Jan. 5, 2022 (here).
Webmaster addition: Looks like someone got caught and is back-peddling as fast as they can!
Almost nobody in Africa is getting “vaccinated” for the Wuhan coronavirus (Covid-19), and as a result there is almost no covid anywhere to be found on the continent. The latest reports from the mainstream media admit that the plandemic is basically non-existent in Africa, which is confusing to those who believe the narrative that the jabs are helping to eradicate disease.
A recent piece from the Associated Press (AP) explains that in Zimbabwe, nobody wears a mask, nobody is vaccinated, and life goes on as normal. People pack the local markets in close proximity to one another and, by golly, nobody is getting sick. “Covid-19 is gone,” stated a man named Nyasha Ndou, who joked with reporters about how he keeps a mask in his pants “to protect my pocket.”
As the President of the VDARE Foundation, I work alongside my husband, Editor of VDARE.com, Peter Brimelow, to defeat the post-1964 Immigration Act disaster that has set America on a course of destruction. For us it is not a job but a mission. VDARE is an institution designed and built to fight for and defend the Historic American Nation.
Our work in building this institution contradicts the defeatist murmuring of many we otherwise respect, that “conservatives are no good at community organizing,” or, as a prominent foundation executive said in a panel at the recent Philadelphia Society meeting, “We don’t think institutionally.”
That has never been true.
In fact, the creation of VDARE and other sympathetic institutions, is really the second time around.
The first time around, patriotic, God-fearing American people created the nation’s schools, churches, media, political structure, military, and many of our innumerable charities. If we failed to think with regard to institutions, it was a failure to understand the threat of those who would turn the very institutions built on our labor and contributions, against us, following John O’Sullivan’s “First Law” (“Any institution that is not explicitly right wing will become left wing over time,”). American institutions have been hijacked.
Almost all universities are now simply mechanisms for the repression of those who created them. Churches stand by as debauchery and outright evil destroy their flocks. As for the media, as the late M. Stanton Evans liked to say, their idea of covering conservatives was to do it with a pillow; until they stopped moving. The government, the “intelligence community” as they seem to call it these days, and even the military are ever more subversively complicit as anti-white progressive Wokeism is enforced as policy.
Kevin McCarthy is acting like he's grown a pair—although acting may be the operative word:
House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy on Tuesday called for Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas to resign over his handling of the migrant crisis at the southern border – or potentially face an impeachment inquiry when Republicans take control of the House next year.
His actions have produced the great wave of illegal immigration in recorded history," McCarthy said at a press conference in El Paso, Texas during a tour of the southern border. "This is why today I am calling on the secretary to resign."
"He cannot and must not remain in that position," he said. "If Secretary Mayorkas does not resign, House Republicans will investigate every order, every action and every failure to determine whether we can begin an impeachment inquiry."
McCarthy said that he had spoken to Reps. Jim Jordan and James Comer, the ranking Republicans of the Judiciary and Oversight Committees, and said they have his complete support to investigate the "collapse" of the border.
Last month I posted about the egregious cancellation of tenured professor Bryan J. Pesta, who was fired by Cleveland State U. in effect for coauthoring a landmark scientific article on racial admixture and IQ in 2019. (I put considerable effort into a Taki’s Magazinecolumn explicating in less daunting prose a 2021 study that replicated Pesta’s 2019 findings on the even more impressive ABCD database.)
The relationship between the race gap in IQ and DNA has been quite possibly the single most contentious issue in the human sciences since Arthur Jensen’s 1969 Harvard Education Reviewarticle. Pesta’s career was targeted for destruction for his role in publishing what might eventually go down in history as the single biggest step forward toward resolving this great debate between scientific titans such as Jensen, Richard Herrnstein, and Charles Murray vs. Stephen Jay Gould, Richard Lewontin, Christopher Jencks, and James Flynn.
Charles Murray and myself have been trying to alert academics that Pesta’s case shows that their ancient right of tenure is no longer secure. As Beria liked to tell Stalin about his stewardship of the NKVD, “Show me the man and I’ll find you the crime.”
Havoc ensued shortly after the Tesla CEO acquired the popular social media company earlier this month. Thousands of staff members across Twitter’s global team have since been fired, many without notice. Unfortunately, some staff members are feeling the brunt of Musk’s chaotic acquisition, like Twitter staff in Ghana, who were let go the same day the company opened its headquarters in Accra. As NewsOne previously reported, it’s still unclear as to whether Musk offered severance pay to those impacted in Africa, which is quite odd, given that termination pay was offered to laid-off Twitter employees in India and other team members around the world.
In a scathing report published by the New York Times on Nov. 11, several Twitter executives warned Musk to carefully assess his layoff plan for “diversity and inclusion issues,” so that the cuts would not disproportionately impact workers of color. But the South African businessman and his team “brushed aside the suggestion,” the report noted.
Following the move, laid-off Twitter workers in Ghana said they felt “insulted,” “discriminated against” and “disrespected” by the way they were abruptly let go by the company. Now, some staff members are seeking legal guidance from employment lawyers in Africa to assess whether Musk unlawfully terminated their contracts.
Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi has called on the United States to develop new “operational plans” to take on the Iranian military, urging top US defense and intelligence officials to “accelerate” joint efforts to counter the Islamic Republic.
Kochavi held a series of meetings with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and CIA Director William Burns, the IDF said in a press release on Tuesday, noting that he discussed the “Iranian threat” with each of the officials he had spoken with since landing in the US on Sunday morning.
“We are at a critical point in time which requires the acceleration of the operational plans and the cooperation against Iran and its proxies in the region,” Kochavi said after the meetings. “On the one hand, Iran is under many economic, military and internal pressures, and on the other hand continues to advance the nuclear project.”
