This unique photo collection includes a stunning array of vintage cameras, some of which were ingeniously hidden in everyday objects.

From a camera hidden in a matchbox to a camera disguised as a pocket watch for covert operations, these devices showcase simple old-fashioned designs, some dating back to the 1880s.

Some of these special cameras were made to look like books, cigarette packets, binoculars, radio players, and even a handgun.

One of the more interesting pieces is the Cigarette Camera, which was designed after World War II but never mass-produced.

Another fascinating discovery is the Lucky Strike spy camera, developed by Mast Development Corp. for the US Signal Corps between 1949 and 1950.

This camera was designed to fit inside the outer wrapper of a Lucky Strike cigarette packet.

Despite its small size, it was capable of taking 18 shots at 16 mm with different shutter speeds. However, it never came into widespread use and remained an obscure part of history.

As the United States expanded westward in the early 1800s, the trade in American bison fur, skin, and meat began to flourish across the Great Plains. By the 1860s, these iconic animals had roamed the plains for millennia, their herds numbering in the millions, a sight so awe-inspiring that it was dubbed "the thunder of the plains." For generations, they have been the lifeblood of Native American tribes, providing not only food and clothing but also shelter and spiritual significance. But the scenario began to change after the Civil War. The continued progress of the railroads brought with it a wave of new cities, bustling trains, and interconnected telegraph lines, ushering in an era of rapid change. This change spelled trouble for the bison, as European settlers, motivated by profit, destroyed the once abundant herds. By the 1880s, their numbers had dropped from nearly 30 million to just 325, a catastrophic decline.

In the 19th century, access to medicine was like opening Pandora's Box – it brought both blessings and strange, sometimes dangerous, tricks. Some "cures" were harmless frauds, but many others were downright dangerous, often containing addictive and life-threatening ingredients. The most notorious example of this era was the promotion of arsenic-containing soaps and cosmetics. Arsenic was believed to improve the complexion and give a pale, fashionable look. With its enchanting glow, radium has made its way into toothpastes and cosmetics, promising a dazzling smile and a flawless complexion. Meanwhile, "asthma cigarettes" were marketed as a cure for respiratory diseases, containing a mixture of herbs and narcotics, including the highly addictive substance stramonium. As we look at these strange and dangerous treatments, we can't help but feel grateful for modern regulations and scientific advances. We may laugh at the absurdity of these products, but it's a reminder of how easily we can be swayed by health and beauty promises.

Grieving families of the Covenant Christian School shooter's six victims have claimed they own copyright of the full handwritten confession of the killer.

They are arguing before a Nashville judge that the confession, and other documents, should never be publicly released because no good can come from it.

The families' claims comes as both city police and the FBI fight to stop the confession, and potentially information about mysterious notes and numbers found on Hale's body, from being made public.

Audrey Hale, 28, was a transgender artist, who identified as a male named Aiden, shot her way into the Tennessee elementary school in March 2023, killing three adults and three nine-year-olds, before responding officers killed her.

Following the shooting, Nashville's Metropolitan Police Chief John Drake said his force had recovered the shooter's manifesto, as well as hand-drawn maps in her car, and said they would eventually be made public.

Now, both cityi police and the FBI say the material shouldn't be released because the information could damage any potential  investigation.

A top Iranian general said his country may reconsider its nuclear policies if Israel threatens to attack its atomic sites, an implicit warning that Tehran might race toward a nuclear weapon as rhetoric continued to escalate in the wake of its April 13 drone and missile attack.

Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Commander Ahmad Haghtalab didn’t specify what the change might be, but Tehran has long said its nuclear program, which has prompted concern from the US, Israel and the United Nations for years, is solely for peaceful purposes. Haghtalab also said such an attack would prompt a tit-for-tat attack on Israel’s nuclear facilities.

In 1966, a small Welsh village is forever changed by a devastating event that shocks the nation. The Aberfan disaster, caused by the collapse of a colliery spoil tip, tragically resulted in the loss of 144 lives, the majority of whom were children. This heartbreaking incident not only highlighted the dangers of coal mining, but also showed a profound display of resilience and community spirit. A group of young schoolchildren had just begun mathematics lessons at Pantglass Junior School when a terrible rumble filled the air. Within moments, tons of liquefied coal waste tumbled down the hill, hitting the school building and nearby homes.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre acknowledged Thursday that President Biden’s maternal uncle, Ambrose Finnegan, actually died when his plane crashed into the Pacific Ocean during World War II — and that he wasn’t eaten by cannibals, as Biden implied on two separate occasions Wednesday.

Jean-Pierre told reporters aboard Air Force One that the 81-year-old president was merely expressing how “incredibly proud” he was of Finnegan when Biden suggested New Guinea natives had eaten him in 1944.

“You saw the president, he was incredibly proud of his uncle’s service in uniform. You saw him at the War Memorial. It was incredibly emotional and important to him,” Jean-Pierre said en route to Philadelphia, where Biden was making his third consecutive day of campaign visits to the Keystone State.

“You saw him respond to all of you when asked about the moment yesterday and his uncle who lost his life when the military aircraft he was on crashed in the Pacific after taking off near New Guinea.”

A state official in Ohio has rejected Democrats’ illegal plan to sneak Joe Biden’s name onto the 2024 presidential ballot.

A lawyer for the leftist party had wanted the state of accept a “provisional” certification of Biden, and Kamala Harris, as candidates, but Attorney General Dave Yost’s office found the move “simply is not provided for by law.”

“Instead, the law mandates the Democratic Party to actually certify its president and vice-president candidates on or before August 7, 2024. No alternative process is permitted,” the statement said.

The problem is that Democrats, focused for the last few years on trying to exclude President Donald Trump from the 2024 ballot, overlooked state requirements for certification. Their convention, to officially name Biden as the candidate, doesn’t happen until the end of August.

After the deadlines in Ohio and Alabama will have passed by the time their decision is made.

Did old, never-before-seen photos surface in May of 2023 of Donald Trump posing with young women on a private jet, and also partying with Jeffrey Epstein? No, that's not true: Although there are authentic images of Donald Trump posing for pictures with young women and with Jeffrey Epstein, these three images surfaced on social media without any provenance or explanation of where they came from or what they show. The images show telltale signs of having been partly or entirely fabricated with an AI program such as Midjourney, leaving legs off Epstein in one case.

The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) developed the List of Bioengineered Foods to identify the crops or foods that are available in a bioengineered form throughout the world and for which regulated entities must maintain records. These records will inform regulated entities about whether they must make a bioengineered food disclosure.

New BE products continue to be developed. Even if a food is not included on the List, regulated entities whose records show that a food they are selling is bioengineered must make appropriate disclosure of that food.

AMS continually reviews the List and, if necessary, updates it through the federal rulemaking process.

Stand-up comedian Kyle Lucey has faced cancelations after other comedians hurled insults at angry protesters who were upset over a joke about Lucey's own childhood.

The comedian was on an upward trajectory as a headlining comic when COVID-19 lockdowns hit, and with comedy clubs across the world being forced to close their doors, Lucey did what a select few comedians like Bert Kreischer and Ben Bankas did: He took his talents outdoors.

During an outdoor comedy show, passersby took grave offense at one of his most personal jokes and decided to sabotage his set.

"I was doing a show at a park, and people came up to me and pushed my amp down because I was doing a joke," Lucey quickly recalled.

"A lot of my comedy comes from my own personal trauma. So, I was doing a joke about how my mom sexually assaulted me. That's a very true story, it's a very vulnerable story, and it's a story that took me years to be comfortable talking about," he explained.

That spawned the bonkers theory that Clinton or supporters had something to do with the accident to clear the path for her eventual Senate victory in the 2000 general election.
