But Ukraine’s backers in Washington as well as other Ukrainian officials, don’t hold the same view. Washington Post columnist David Ignatius wrote in a January 24 article that there is a “widespread view in Washington and Kyiv that regaining Crimea by military force may be impossible.”
Ignatius added that any Ukrainian success in the Zaporizhzhia oblast could threaten Russian control of Crimea but that “an all-out Ukrainian campaign to seize the Crimean Peninsula is unrealistic, many US and Ukrainian officials believe.” He said this was due in part to the fact that “Putin has indicated that an assault on Crimea would be a tripwire for nuclear escalation.”
British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace said Wednesday that sending fighter jets to Ukraine isn’t the right approach “for now,” but stressed that nothing should be ruled out.
“I’ve been involved with this for a pretty long time. And I’ve learned two things; never rule anything in and never rule anything out,” Wallace told reporters when asked why Britain wouldn’t send Ukraine jets, according to Reuters.
“This is not a solid decision,” Wallace said. “For now, I don’t think that’s the right approach. … What’s going to move on this conflict this year is going to be the ability for Ukrainians to deploy Western armor against Russia.”
You can tell a lot about someone from the car they drive. The data that many vehicles now collect can reveal the patterns of our daily lives and provide insights into our behaviour, actions and even our state of mind.
Vehicle forensics is a type of digital forensic science that focuses on the identification, acquisition and analysis of data which has been stored by cars, vans and lorries.
Originally, vehicle forensics mainly related to the external identification of stolen cars or tax and MOT violations by the use of the ANPR (automatic number plate recognition) system in the UK. The system was invented during the 1970s but did not become widely used by the police until the late 1990s. ANPR works by scanning number plates and checking them against a database of vehicles of interest.
Those watching the gold price and price of silver will have noticed the sharp uptick following the Federal Reserve’s announcement, yesterday. This was despite the Fed doing exactly what everyone expected them to do. For now, the Federal Reserve is sticking to its relatively well-telegraphed plan but how long will it be until they need to move the goalposts in order to do so?
Gold and Silver prices rose sharply on the Fed’s statement on Wednesday. The change of tune from ‘higher interest rates are needed to fight inflation” to “we might have raised enough and need slow down increases to see” was apparent in both the statement released after the interest rate setting committee’s two-day meeting and in Chair Powell’s press conference.
In a heated exchange between Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters of California and Republican Rep. Chip Roy of Texas Tuesday, Waters denied being a socialist despite Roy’s reminder of comments she made 15 years ago that threatened a government takeover of oil companies.
The discussion began when Roy mentioned a speech Waters had made in the House of Representatives in 2008, where she stated that she “would be all for the government taking over, and running [oil] companies, if that’s what it takes.”
“The representative from California seems to want to label me a socialist and no one else here,” Roy said. “I don’t need lectures from the representative from California about being called names.”
This led to Waters’ denial of being a socialist, but the Daily Caller points out that “Waters’ comments were made in specific response to the government’s attempts to sue the oil companies” and “her calls for a government takeover of oil companies fall into the category of socialism.”
The UK government has told local authorities to crack down on people using wood-burning stoves to keep warm with fines of £300 or potentially criminal prosecutions for those who continually refuse to abide by state climate diktats.
Amid the energy crisis in Britain, which came to fruition in large part as a result of the Conservative Party-led governments over the past ten years obsession with implementing globalist green agenda policies while refusing to tap the nation’s more reliable natural resources such as natural gas, the use of wood-burning stoves have soared.
Now, local authorities have been told by the government in Westminster to use the 2021 Environment Act to impose spot fines of £175 to £300 on those who use wood-fire stoves that do not meet state standards on air pollution, The Times of Londonreported.
Local councils were also informed that for those who continually breach the codes, they could also seek criminal prosecutions that could land citizens with a criminal record and fines of £5,000 and an additional £2,500 for every additional day that they use wood to heat their homes.
Over the past six years, councils in England have issued just 17 fines against people for burning wood, even though they received over 18,000 complaints from fellow citizens.
Pfizer stock slumped Tuesday as the pharmaceutical giant said it expects sales for its Covid-19 vaccine and oral treatment to decline significantly this year, as investors digest a shifting reality for Pfizer with Covid cases and hospitalizations stabilizing and government subsidization of the shots drying up.
Creeping through the undergrowth, these Ukrainian soldiers are among those preparing to take on Vladimir Putin’s forces – only this time from Salisbury Plain.
Troops have been training with the UK’s military in Wiltshire before they are sent to the frontline against invading Russian forces. They are being helped by Australian armed forces, who are providing the training alongside British soldiers.
It came as the first Ukrainian crews arrived in the UK to learn to use Challenger 2 tanks after 14 were sent to the frontline.
A person should adhere to biblical principles and study the world experience of interest-free banking systems. Holy Scripture forbids lending money at interest and making profit from interest.
Archpriest Oleg Stenyaev, Church of the Nativity of St. John the Forerunner in Sokolniki, writer, theologian, & missionary
In the book of Exodus it says:
“If you lend money to any of My people who are poor among you, you shall not be like a moneylender to him; you shall not charge him interest.” (Ex. 22:25).
The same prohibition is repeated in the book of Leviticus:
“If one of your brethren becomes poor, and falls into poverty among you, then you shall help him, like a stranger or a sojourner, that he may live with you. Take no usury or interest from him; but fear your God, that your brother may live with you. You shall not lend him your money for usury, nor lend him your food at a profit. I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, to give you the land of Canaan and to be your God.” (Lev. 25:35-37).
"You shall not charge interest to your brother — interest on money or food or anything that is lent out at interest." (Deut. 23:19).
The New Testament also has instructions that are indirectly related to usury. The Gospel of Matthew says:
"Give to the one who asks from you, and do not turn away from those who want to borrow from you" (Matt. 5:42).
The US sanctions policies will not achieve the stated goal, with Russian industries increasingly relying on their own strength, Russia’s embassy in Washington said in a comment on Wednesday.
Commenting on the latest sanctions, announced by the US Treasury, targeting individuals and legal entities who Washington said played a role in circumventing anti-Russian restrictions, the embassy said, "The flywheel of the sanctions machine, propelled to red heat by the US authorities, continues to generate numerous restrictions with side effects for third parties. <…> It looks like the authors of such decisions don’t think about their legitimacy. And also about the consequences for other countries, including partners and allies of the US. Such a widespread use of secondary measures cannot be explained in any other way,"
"They don’t seem to understand that many nations see Washington's proposals to cooperate accompanied by threats of punishment for interactions with Russia as a mockery," the embassy said in its comment.
"We can only confirm that such illegal steps by the United States will not achieve the stated goal. The Russian economy remains far from being `in tatters’, as some in the West hope. The same goes with Russia’s industry, which, thanks to - and despite - all economic barriers, is increasingly relying on its own strength," the embassy emphasized.
NATO should stop their Pontius Pilate hand-wringing about sending their upgraded Tiger tanks to Ukraine’s wrecking yards as they are damned whether they throw good tanks after bad, or if they do not. The best NATO can do is to form a line of defense stretching from the brothels of Romania in the south up through Poland’s and onwards to the pimple states of the Baltic and the big mouthed women leaders of Sweden and Finland. Ukraine, like Vietnam and Afghanistan before it, is a lost cause. NATO should end this war by packing its bags, going home and allowing Zelensky’s thugs await their fate on their own.
The Americans can send their Bradleys, the British their Challenger tanks, the French their Leclercs and the Germans their Leopards. Russia will destroy all of them and all crews unfortunate enough to man them. If Hitler’s Tigers could not stop the Russian tide, nor will they.
Though the British can boast to their hearts’ content about their invincible Challengers, those British wunderwaffe weapons will break down and need repair when they reach Ukraine’s killing fields. That is assuming Russia does not send them to Hades before they first see action. Showcasing your wunderwaffe weapons in Ukraine is one thing. Prevailing, as the Wehrmacht discovered, is another.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky believes that the Georgian authorities intend to kill former Georgian President and current citizen of Ukraine Mikheil Saakashvili.
“I think that today the Georgian government is killing him. You know that they poisoned him and now, excuse me, they are killing him little by little,” he stressed.
In this regard, Zelensky asked: “Georgia, its leadership, who are they for today?” “Are they neutral or are they for Russia? Since Russia treats its politicians in the same way as today the Georgian leadership treats not its politicians anymore, but the citizens of Ukraine. And so once again: are they neutral? Or are they for Russia? Or are they just against Ukraine, etc.?” the president said.
Any attempt by China to change the status quo in the Taiwan Strait will cause “severe consequences” for regional and global security, NATO’s secretary general said Wednesday.
In an interview with Nikkei Asia in Tokyo, Jens Stoltenberg said the bloc is concerned about China’s threatening rhetoric and “coercive behavior” in the Taiwan Strait. He stressed that preventing Beijing from using military power was crucial.
The United States made a strategic mistake as they actually provoked a conflict with two nuclear powers, namely Russia and China, Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov said speaking on Russia’s Channel One television.
"It seems to me that the United States made an important strategic mistake," Antonov said. "They have, in fact, started a conflict with two nuclear powers, or putting it into simple words - they are trying to fight on two fronts."
"One should take a look at news reports delivered by Pentagon via major US media outlets in which they state that Washington prepares for war with China over Taiwan," he noted. "Once again, red lines were mentioned there, however there are no red lines, and frankly speaking, I can hardly imagine how Americans will start direct hostilities with China over Taiwan."
"At the same time, Americans keep reiterating that they are committed to their policy of One China [principle]," the Russian ambassador said.
On January 30-31, Oleg Serebrian, Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration visited Georgia where he met with the Prime Minister of Georgia, the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation as well as the Minister of Health, and Parliament officials. Moldovan Deputy PM’s discussions with the official Tbilisi included topics related to bilateral cooperation and the countries’ reforms agenda. Serebrian also visited the village Odzisi in the vicinity of the occupation line and discussed the developments regarding the occupied territories of Georgia and Moldova.
[B]oth sides underscored the importance of peaceful conflict resolution and both leaders reaffirmed their strong mutual support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of each other’s countries.
“The conversation also touched on the process of EU integration of the Associated Trio member states. Attention was paid to the implementation of the European Council’s recommendations, steps taken so far, and plans for the future,” the Government Administration reported.
The West’s intellectual property is now fair game for retaliation against the ongoing sanctions, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev said on Tuesday on his Telegram channel.
"All that remains is to adopt rules on the use of their [Western - TASS] intellectual property. Without any licenses and payment of royalties. Among other things, these will be our retaliatory sanctions against their property rights. On everything, from movies to industrial software," Medvedev commented.
Further lampooning the West, Medvedev sarcastically commended "developers of various programs for the unlicensed use of their expensive intellectual products," saying this is "the unlicensed use under conditions of personal sanctions."
"So what, a la guerre comme a la guerre," he argued.
The COVID data that I’ve read through and analyzed this week is so shocking that I had to check my math twice. I must have made a mistake, I thought. Out of the 1,195,000 active duty military members in the USA and the 778,000 reserve troops, 863,013 developed nervous system diseases in the six-month period between August of 2021 and this past January. That’s 43% of the troops.
That’s according to data from an attorney named Thomas Renz, who just presented the military vaccine data to a US Senate committee. Renz has also put the US government on notice with a warning: All COVID vaccine mandates from the US government must end immediately.
The US government has a well-documented history of backing extremist groups as part of a panoply of foreign policy misadventures, which inevitably end up blowing up in the American public’s face. In the 1960s, the CIA worked with Cuban anti–Fidel Castro radicals who turned Miami into a hub of terrorist violence. In the 1980s, the agency supported and encouraged Islamic radicals converging in Afghanistan, who would go on to orchestrate the September 11 attack. And, in the 2010s, Washington backed Syria’s not-so-“moderate” rebels who ended up cutting a swath of atrocities through civilians and the Kurdish forces that were meant to be US allies.
Based on a new report, it looks like we may soon be able to add another to that list of fatally unlearned lessons: Ukrainian neo-Nazis.
According to a recent Yahoo! Newsreport, since 2015, the CIA has been secretly training forces in Ukraine to serve as “insurgent leaders,” in the words of one former intelligence official, in case Russia ends up invading the country. Current officials are claiming the training is purely for intelligence collection, but the former officials Yahoo! spoke to said the program involved training in firearms, “cover and move,” and camouflage, among other things.
As the conflict between Ukraine and Russia continues to escalate and dominate the world’s attention, the increasing evidence that the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) is and has been working to create and arm an insurgency in the country has received considerably little attention considering its likely consequences. This is particularly true given that former CIA officials and a former Secretary of State are now openly saying that the CIA is following the “models” of past CIA-backed insurgencies in Afghanistan and Syria for its plans in Ukraine. Given that those countries have been ravaged by war as a direct result of those insurgencies, this bodes poorly for Ukraine.
Yet, this insurgency is poised to have consequences that reach far beyond Ukraine. It increasingly appears that the CIA sees the insurgency it is creating as more than an opportunity to take its hybrid war against Russia ever closer to its borders. As this report will show, it appears the CIA is determined to manifest a prophecy propagated by its own ranks over the past two years. This prediction from former and current intelligence officials dates from at least early 2020 and holds that a “transnational white supremacist network” with alleged ties to the Ukraine conflict will be the next global catastrophe to befall the world as the threat of Covid-19 recedes.
