Thought for the day

"In whatever arena of life one may meet the challenge of Courage, whatever may be the sacrifices he faces if he follows his conscience – the loss of his friends, his fortune, his contentment, even the esteem of his fellow men – each man must decide for himself the course he will follow. The stories of past courage can define that ingredient – they can teach, they can offer hope, they can provide inspiration. But they cannot supply courage itself. For this each man must look into his own soul." -- Profiles in Courage

Adcovery

Fashion has been smashing taboos since Coco Chanel first marketed trousers to women after World War I. But today there are very few norms left to assault in pursuit of publicity-generating controversy. So perhaps we shouldn’t be surprised to find the rag trade venturing into truly taboo territory: paedophilia and now suicide — albeit with a fig-leaf of liberal proceduralism, in its guise as medically-assisted voluntary euthanasia.

Last week, fashion brand Balenciaga triggered considerable controversy when an ad campaign featuring young children holding teddy bears dressed in bondage gear hit the headlines. Not to be outdone, Canadian fashion retailer Simons is the source of this week’s fashion rage-clicks, with a video celebrating euthanasia.

US/Western regimes and Nazi-infested Ukraine were caught red-handed reinventing reality on the ground time and again.

Their propaganda reports feature state-approved Big Lies while suppressing truth and full disclosure.

According to puppet Zelensky regime fake news, its military close to collapse “eliminated 91,150 Russian” soldiers (sic), including 550 over the past day (sic).

And this divorced from reality rubbish:

Battered and beaten regime troops “destroyed 2,922 Russian tanks (sic), 5,892 armored personnel vehicles (sic), 1,908 artillery systems (sic), 395 MLRS (sic), 210 air defense systems (sic), 281 aircraft (sic), 263 helicopters (sic), 1,573 UAVs (sic), 531 cruise missiles (sic), 16 ships/boats (sic), 4,479 vehicles and fuel tanks (sic), and 163 special equipment units (sic).”

All of the above trash doesn’t rise to the level of bad fiction.

After a 3-year saga of stalled contract negotiations between the country’s freight rail carriers and the 12 unions representing over 100,000 railroad workers, “pro-union” President Biden and Congress last week “averted” a national rail shutdown by overriding the democratic will of rail workers and forcing a contract down their throats. So, what happens now? We convene a special all-railroader panel to break down the events of the last week and to discuss where railroad workers and the labor movement go from here.

Panelists include: Jay, a qualified conductor who was licensed to operate locomotives at 19 years old, and who became a qualified train dispatcher before he was 23; Marilee Taylor, who worked on the railroads for over 30 years and retired earlier this year from her post as an engineer for BNSF Railway, but is still an active member of Railroad Workers United; John Tormey, a writer and BWMED-IBT member who works as a track laborer for the commuter rail in Massachusetts; and Matt Parker, a full-time locomotive engineer who’s worked on the railroads for 19 years and also serves part-time as Chairman on the Nevada State Legislative Board of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen.

Citing previously undisclosed emails and other documents related to former president Donald Trump’s son-in-law, the committees on Monday night sent letters to the State and Defense departments requesting material that they say could shed new light on whether “Kushner’s financial conflict of interest may have led him to improperly influence U.S. tax, trade and national security policies for his own financial gain.”

The letters, obtained by The Washington Post, focus on efforts by Kushner and his father, Charles Kushner, to bail out a troubled 41-story Fifth Avenue office building in New York City. The Kushner company in 2018 made a deal with a Canadian company, Brookfield Asset Management, which invested $1.2 billion for a 99-year lease. As a result, the Kushner family company avoided defaulting on a loan that was due the following year.

Democrats have long raised questions about the deal because the Qatar Investment Authority, a sovereign wealth fund, had a stake in one of Brookfield’s investment arms.

“Gender identity” is a hot-topic today and has become a focal point of not just social discourse, but legal policy and procedure. But few people know the concept’s disturbing origins.

Dr. John Money, a sexologist and psychologist from New Zealand who practiced at Johns Hopkins, is considered the first to coin the terms “gender identity” and “gender role,” describing the “internal experience of sexuality” and the “social expectations of male and female behavior” respectively. These concepts are prominently featured in trans activism today, and are used to bolster claims of “gender fluidity.”

But Money’s history is a dark and controversial one, the details of which are often neglected when discussing his contribution to the popularization of “gender vs. sex” discourses.

Like many sexologists, Money believed pedophilia was a harmless sexuality which, when practiced “properly,” led to the child suffering no harm. In fact, Money’s theories on pedophilia were so sympathetic that, to this day, his work is prominently featured on the website of the North American Man-Boy Love Association (NAMBLA)– one of the longest-established pederast rights groups.
In the 1990s, Money allowed himself to be featured in interviews with Paidika, a pedophile psychology journal named after the Greek adjective for “boyish,” and has been used by pedophile rights activists to refer to the younger partner in a pederastic relationship.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is prepared to respond after the Federal Emergency Management Agency has refused to provide a batch of emergency funds for state projects following damage done by Hurricane Ian.

The Republican governor, who was just commandingly reelected to a second term last month, said that President Joe Biden’s FEMA is refusing a $25 million request to fund emergency housing in the wake of the storm, but added that wouldn’t stop him from providing the aid anyway, Fox News reported.

“Unfortunately, we got word last week that FEMA had denied our request for funding our state-led housing initiative, citing their ‘limited authority,’” DeSantis told reporters on Monday. “We’re not just going to sit there and take no for an answer, and we’re going to figure out what we can do.

“We want to cut through bureaucracy. We want to bring relief to impacted Floridians regardless of whether FEMA wants to be a part of that,” he added.

A flight attendant is revealing the secrets to getting freebies and special treatment onboard.

According to Craig Featherby, president of the Flight Attendants’ Association of New Zealand, there are two reasons passengers will be able to get freebies.

If a passenger is celebrating a special occasion — like a birthday — the in-flight crew might do something to make their flight more memorable, he told Stuff.

Webmaster addition: When Claire and I flew to Hawaii for our honeymoon, we wore t-shirts that said "We are not on drugs, we're newlyweds" on the front and "The church service is over, now comes the kinky part!"

The flight attendants all laughed at the shirts, and joked they would be watching to make sure we didn't both go into a lavatory at the same time. Later, there was free champagne and a napkin wishing us good luck, signed by the entire cabin crew. We still have that napkin and the t-shirts! I probably should have worn my shirt on Monday's show, come to think of it.

US Coast Guard members who are nearing 20 years in military service but have not complied with the COVID-19 vaccine mandate due to religious objections are now being terminated just before they gain full access to promised military pension and retirement benefits.

One former service member, Chris Harkins, was formally discharged on Dec. 1 after serving exactly 19 years in the USCG. He had orders for retirement on Jan. 1, 2024, and had saved up leave days to max out starting in late June 2023. However, he was informed, just about seven months before he would hit the 20-year mark to receive a lifelong monthly pension, that he was being discharged over his refusal to get vaccinated due to his sincerely held religious beliefs.

“Based on your decision to not receive the mandatory covid vaccine as ordered, you have been processed for separation (discharge),” read an email to Harkins on Oct. 20 that was obtained by Fox News Digital. “Your retirement orders are being cancelled as 10 US code 1176 (a does not apply to members of the CG. There is no safe harbor for a CG member with 18 or more years TIS [time in service],” the email continued.

Military expert Konstantin Sivkov believes that London and Washington could be involved in recent drone attacks on Russian military attacks.

According to the specialist, the Ukrainian Armed Forces used Soviet-made Strizh drones that had been modernised with modern spare parts for the attacks.

"Western intelligence services could designate a flight route that would bypass the air defence zone. The Ukrainians do not have such data at their disposal," Sivkov said, the Public News Service said.

The UK and the US have a space intelligence system, the expert said. In addition, the two countries have an experience of conducting such drone attacks. British experts could modernise the Soviet UAVs, he believes.

The Justice Department has issued a series of subpoenas to officials in three states, nodding to an expansion of its inquiry into the false elector scheme pursued by the 2020 Trump campaign.

A trio of subpoenas, first reported by The Washington Post on Tuesday, were sent in late November to county officials in Michigan, Arizona and Wisconsin.

The subpoenas were among the first signed by newly appointed special counsel Jack Smith and are a signal the Justice Department is pushing ahead in two probes centered on former President Trump: the Jan. 6 investigation and the case tied to the mishandling of White House records at Mar-a-Lago.

The subpoenas ask the county clerks — those for Dane County, Wis., Maricopa County, Ariz., and Wayne County, Mich. — to detail any communications with “Donald J. Trump, or any employee or agent of, or attorney for, the Trump Campaign.”

Police are warning the public amid a spike in violent “bank jugging” robberies across Southern California as the holidays approach.

“Bank jugging” involves thieves staking out potential victims in bank parking lots and then following them to their next destination to rob them.

Popular shopping centers are prime areas for suspects searching for their next target, police said.

“These are dangerous crimes,” Lt. Derek Green with the Burbank Police Department told KTLA. “The crime is usually when a group of people follow unsuspecting victims to a bank and wait for them to withdraw a large amount of cash. Once the victim leaves the bank, they follow them to their intended destination.”

Police say this type of organized robbery is nothing new.

Acorps of researchers looking into the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy say they have unearthed proof his alleged assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald, was involved in an operation by the CIA mere months before the killing, reigniting questions about whether the Oswald truly was alone in his decision to kill the youngest man ever elected president.

In a Tuesday press conference at the National Press Club, Jefferson Morley—a veteran of the D.C. press corps and a preeminent expert on JFK's assassination with the Mary Ferrell Foundation—told reporters that he and attorneys with the foundation obtained documentation relating to a still-classified covert operation approved by senior CIA officials three months before Kennedy's death that suggested the agency used Oswald for intelligence purposes several weeks prior to shooting.

"This is an extraordinarily serious claim, and it has profound implications for the official story," Morley said Tuesday morning in Washington. "The CIA knew far more about the lone gunman than then they are admitting even today. So this story deserves the closest possible scrutiny."

The following is an excerpt from The Vaccine Reaction.

Nearly two years after the introduction of Covid-19 biologics around the world, the pharmaceutical industry is facing a waning demand for these products. Scott Rosenstein, a New York-based health care adviser to Eurasia Group said:

Supply is exceeding demand in much of the world, even with many countries rolling out booster shots. Once the perception set in that omicron is less likely to lead to severe illness, and the vaccines don’t do a great job at preventing infection while still providing strong protection against severe illness, demand for Covid vaccines has tailed off considerably.
