"There will be, in the next generation or so, a pharmacological method of making people love their servitude, and producing dictatorship without tears, so to speak, producing a kind of painless concentration camp for entire societies, so that people will in fact have their liberties taken away from them, but will rather enjoy it." -- Aldous Huxley - "The Ultimate Revolution". Aldous Huxley's speech at Berkeley Language Center, www.informationclearinghouse.info. March 20, 1962.
Now, fears are swirling that $10 billion bitcoin and crypto giant Digital Currency Group (DCG) could be in trouble after its crypto lender Genesis was forced to pause withdrawals and reports emerged it's seeking an emergency $1 billion loan.
A Stanford University professor of medicine says “academic freedom is dead” after his life became a “living hell” for challenging coronavirus lockdown orders and the “scientific clerisy” during the pandemic.
“The basic premise is that if you don’t have protection and academic freedom in the hard cases, when a faculty member has an idea that’s unpopular among some of the other faculty – powerful faculty, or even the administration … If they don’t protect it in that case, then you don’t have academic freedom at all,” Dr. Jay Bhattacharya told Fox News Digital in a phone interview.
Bhattacharya is a tenured professor of medicine at Stanford University and also an economist who serves as director of Stanford’s Center for Demography and Economics of Health and Aging.
A USDA memo this month said turkey prices will be higher because of this year’s outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI), which led to the death of 8 million turkeys in 2022. But USDA also said "Russia’s war on Ukraine and drought across the United States" are other factors that are "pushing up the price of Thanksgiving staples."
USDA did not respond to questions from Fox News Digital about how Russia’s war against Ukraine is affecting turkey prices. President Biden and his administration have often blamed Russia for the broad increase in inflation and has referred to higher food and energy prices as "Putin’s price hike."
Problems with voting machines in Arizona on Election Day are found to be more widespread than initially reported. A new report by the Daily Caller found that at least 62% of voting centers in Maricopa County had problems with voting machines on Election Day.
The report discovered that the tabulators and printers at the voting centers were malfunctioning. This resulted in long lines and many delays. Due to this, voters skipped the polls because they did not want to stand in line.
A memo written by Arizona’s Attorney General, Mark Brnovich, was cited in the report. Brnovich is demanding for answers as to why there were so many issues with printers on Election Day in Maricopa County.
In a four page document that was released on Saturday, the Republican criticized the county’s administration of the election.
The report by Brnovich was released days before the county is required to certify the results.
On Friday, United States Attorney General Merrick Garland announced that Jack Smith, a "veteran career prosecutor" would serve as a special counsel to lead the ongoing investigations into Donald Trump being conducted by Biden'sDepartment of Justice, and on Monday records show Smith's wife, Katy Chevigny, is a "high dollar donor" to Joe Biden and contributed to various high-profile Democrat efforts.
On Twitter, Henry Rodgers tweeted a screengrab showing that Katy Chevigny, through her production company Big Mouth Productions gave $2,000 to the Biden for President campaign in 2020.
Major Leftist City Launches Radically Discriminatory Social Program
Note: This article may contain commentary reflecting the author's opinion.
San Francisco seems to be making a bid for the most ridiculous social program in the country. Earlier this week, the city announced they will launch a new income program which is open only to those who do not identify with their sex assigned at birth.
In other words, this new program only accepts transgender applicants. Those who ‘identify’ with their biological sex will not benefit from the program.
G.I.F.T (Guaranteed Income for Transgender People) will be rolled out with 55 transgender residents, affording each of them a $1200 per month payment for up to 18 months, according to local news.
Republicans are demanding answers on the lack of transparency on visitor logs from President Joe Biden’s Delaware home.
“The White House has dodged questions on a report that the Secret Service claims to have no records on who has visited Biden’s home, where the president has spent more than 25% of his time since he took office. By comparison, the visitor logs to the White House have been released,” Fox News reported.
Kentucky GOP Rep. James Comer said: “President Biden has spent a large amount of time at his Delaware residence since assuming office. Americans deserve to know who President Biden is meeting with, especially since we know that he routinely met with Hunter’s business associates during his time as vice president. The Biden Administration must provide transparency to the American people.”
A federal judge ruled Monday that former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki must comply with a subpoena and offer deposition in a lawsuit that claims the Biden administration colluded with Big Tech to censor speech.
Judge Terry Doughty of the Western District of Louisiana on Monday rejected a motion by attorneys for Psaki to block a court-ordered deposition, and said there is public interest in "determining whether First Amendment free speech rights have been suppressed."
Monday’s order follows a ruling from U.S. Magistrate Judge Ivan Davis, who on Friday transferred the case back to Louisiana after Psaki attempted to fight the deposition in a Virginia court where she lives and would be deposed. Biden’s Justice Department supported her effort.
A co-host of ABC’s “The View” has made another controversial statement in the wake of a mass shooting at a Colorado Springs nightclub for gays and lesbians. As the show’s panel members discussed the Saturday night murders, which left five people dead and more than 20 wounded, Sunny Hostin made a head-turning claim about Jesus.
“That’s why I’m so sad. I don’t know that they hide behind religion because I said this on this show once before: Jesus would be the grand martial at the pride parade,” she claimed.
Later, co-host Whoopi Goldberg added: “If they scare you so much, leave them alone. When stuff scares me, I leave it alone. If I don’t want to be bothered, I don’t go there. See? That’s the problem. You don’t want to just have your feelings. You want everybody else to join you, and you know what? You can – you can scream, you can cuss, you can do all the things that you say, but you know what? Gay people are here.
One of the largest U.S. railroad unions on Monday rejected a proposed wage deal with leading industry players, raising the specter of a strike that could cripple rail transportation just ahead of the holiday shopping season.
Railroad engineers accepted a deal with the railroads that will deliver 24% raises, but the group representing conductors, known as SMART Transportation Division, voted against the pact.
"SMART-TD members with their votes have spoken, it's now back to the bargaining table for our operating craft members," said SMART-TD President Jeremy Ferguson said in a statement. "This can all be settled through negotiations and without a strike. A settlement would be in the best interests of the workers, the railroads, shippers and the American people."
Predator. School shooter. Not intelligent. Privileged. Racist. Dumb. What do these words all have in common? These words were all listed as adjectives used to describe white students in a freshman English class at Scappoose High School in Oregon.
About 25 students walked into Ms. Autumn Gonzales’ classroom at Scappoose High School in Oregon to a whiteboard with two columns, one labeled “White Girls,” and the other “White Boys.” In total there were 21 words used to describe white girls and boys and not one was positive.
Last week the world stood on the very edge of a nuclear war, as Ukraine’s US-funded president, Vladimir Zelensky, urged NATO military action over a missile that landed on Polish soil. “This is a Russian missile attack on collective security! This is a really significant escalation. Action is needed,” said Zelensky immediately after the missile landed.
But there was a problem. The missile was fired from Ukraine – likely an accident in the fog of war. Was it actually a Russian missile, of course, that might mean World War III. But Zelensky didn’t seem to be bothered by the prospect of the world blown up, judging from his reckless rhetoric.
While Zelensky has been treated as a saint by the US media, the Biden Administration, and both parties in Congress, something unprecedented happened this time: the Biden Administration pushed back. According to press reports, several Zelensky calls to Biden or senior Biden Staff went unanswered.
Almost every minute of every day I see overwhelming evidence of America’s collapse as a free country. Elon Musk conducted a poll on whether Twitter should allow President Trump to use the social media platform. Fifteen million people responded. 51.8% of the respondents said “yes,” but almost an equal number 48.2% said “no.” In other words, almost half of the 15 million social media users who responded to the poll oppose free speech for a former president of the United States. https://www.theepochtimes.com/trump-will-be-reinstated-on-twitter-says-musk-following-poll_4874463.html
No doubt, being as indoctrinated as they are, they see Trump as a “pussy-grabber,” a Russian agent, and an insurrectionist and regard cancelling his First Amendment right as punishment. Many of the same crowd want pedophiles to be relabeled “minor-attracted persons,” a step toward removing limitations on sexual relations between adults and children. They are content with the free speech right of pedophiles to advocate, but not for President Trump to express political views on Twitter.
In the case of Julian Assange, Wikileaks’ founder who published the leaked information documenting US war crimes and lies to allies, my headline doesn’t go far enough. A large majority of Americans, both Democrats and Republicans in practically equal percentages, desire Assange to be prosecuted for doing what journalists are supposed to do. President Trump and his Secretary of State Pompeo denounced Assange with the same intensity as Nancy Pelosi.
Energy trade between Russia and China has been steadily growing and is up 64% in monetary terms so far this year, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Aleksandr Novak told the Rossiya 24 TV channel on Friday.
His comments followed a meeting of the intergovernmental Russian-Chinese commission on energy cooperation.
“China is our strategic partner in the Asia-Pacific region and generally in trade,” he said, noting that in physical terms the increase was about 10% in supplies of oil, gas, coal, and electricity.
The deputy PM explained that the two countries aim to further develop trade relations, and in particular are working on expanding the share of national currencies in energy transactions.
Russian missile strikes have crippled almost half of Ukraine's energy system, the government said on Friday, and authorities in the capital Kyiv warned that the city could face a "complete shutdown" of the power grid as winter sets in.
With temperatures falling and Kyiv seeing its first snow, officials were working to restore power nationwide after some of the heaviest bombardment of Ukrainian civilian infrastructure in nine months of war.
The United Nations says Ukraine's electricity and water shortages threaten a humanitarian disaster this winter.
"Unfortunately Russia continues to carry out missile strikes on Ukraine's civilian and critical infrastructure. Almost half of our energy system is disabled," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said.
Democrats have been waging lawfare against former President Donald Trump even before Joe Biden assumed the presidency.
When Biden became President and thus gained control of the Justice Department, the campaign to find crimes with which to indict the former President when full force. The Daily Caller reports that the campaign has entered a new phase, using a tried and true strategy for bringing a President, or in this case, a former President, down.
According to the RedState, watching Joe Biden and his ongoing battles with reading scripts provided to him aloud is much the same as not looking away from a crash site. We don’t want to look but can’t help ourselves and have to look.
This situation occurred on Friday when President Biden spoke to business and labor leaders about his disastrous economy. Biden said, “This week, we saw the growth in prices and business pay for goods and services come down, as well. Gas prices are down, but it’s gonna take time to get inflation back to normal levels if we keep our job market strong so we can see setbacks along the way; I don’t doubt that, but thus far, we’re in good shape. But, we’re laser-focused on that.”
The RedState notes several Republican National Committee examples of Biden’s disconnect when speaking.
The chief of US Armed Forces Central Command called the development of “enemy drones” the greatest technological threat to regional security. That is why US drones with “artificial intelligence” are said to be patrolling the area.
A US task force will deploy more than 100 unmanned vessels by 2023 to ensure maritime security in the Gulf’s strategic waters. This was announced by the head of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), Michael Erik Kurilla, in Bahrain on November 19, according to the Mehr news agency reported. “By this time next year, Task Force 59 will comprise a fleet of more than 100 surface and underwater unmanned vessels that will operate together, communicate with one another and enhance maritime intelligence.”Kurilla announced during the annual dialogue conference in Manama.
The announcement came after Israel and the United States blamed Iran for a drone strike off the coast of Oman this week that hit an Israeli-owned tanker. “This attack by an unmanned aerial vehicle on a civilian ship in this critical strait shows once again how destabilizing Iran’s malign activities in the region are,” said General Michael Erik Kurilla to the Wall Street Journal. The comments came during a visit to Tel Aviv, where he announced the US and Israel were “at an accelerated pace developing joint military capabilities” against Iran and other threats in West Asia.
Democrats won far too many races in this year’s midterms — far more than they were supposed to win, or historically would have won, thanks to mass mail-in voting — because too many Americans literally voted against their own interests for some reason.
Republicans were on pace to win historic numbers of House and Senate races after two years of anti-fossil fuel policies emanating from the White House and the congressional Democratic majority, policies that led to high gasoline and diesel prices and now, anticipated shortages just as winter descends on the country.
In fact, experts are warning that shortages of diesel fuel and heating oils could be so significant that a quarter of all Americans are facing looming blackouts as temperatures drop.
A new report from the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), a regulatory body that manages grid stability, says that “grids from the Great Lakes to Louisiana, New England, Carolinas, and all of Texas are the most at risk for power supply shortfalls during high-demand periods,” Zero Hedge reported Friday.
The Brazilian Tutelary Council has begun removing the children of Brazilian election protesters from their parents’ custody. This comes after the National Council of Justice in Brazil issued an order to verify the condition of children involved in protests that have dominated the country following the election of far-left politician Lula da Silva.
The order outlines a plan to identify protest points and inspect them for children. The Public Ministry, Guardianship Council, and auxiliary bodies have been assigned to “protect the children,” removing them from the protests and their parents’ custody when they deem necessary.
President Biden said there was no evidence of election fraud — or “fowl play” — as he took part in the annual Thanksgiving turkey pardon ceremony at the White House.
“The votes are in. They’ve been counted and verified. There’s no ballot stuffing,” Biden cracked — in an apparent dig at former President Trump’s false claims of fraud in the 2020 presidential election — as he prepared to pardon the turkeys in the gobble-filled tradition on the South Lawn on Monday.
Arizona Assistant Attorney General Jennifer Wright — with the Elections Integrity Unit — wrote a letter to the Maricopa County officials Saturday demanding an accounting for the widespread ballot tabulation and ballot printer problems seen during the general election on Nov. 8.
Among the most troubling issues raised in the letter directed to Thomas Liddy with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office was the apparent co-mingling of ballots in black duffle bags in at least one polling location, which were successfully run through the on-site tabulators with those put in “Door 3” to be sent to the Election Department’s downtown Phoenix tabulation center because they could not be read.
“The Elections Integrity Unit (“Unit”) of the Arizona Attorney General’s Office (“AGO”) has received hundreds of complaints since Election Day pertaining to issues related to the administration of the 2022 General Election in Maricopa County,” Wright opened her letter.
