Thought for the day
"The world is a dangerous place, not because of those who do evil, but because of those who look on and do nothing." -- Albert Einstein
On Sunday, New York City Democrat Mayor Eric Adams spoke with CNN’s Jake Tapper about the city’s difficulties in handling the influx of illegal migrants bussed from Texas.
Chinese cities have rushed back to lock downs in a show of loyalty to the Chinese Communist leaders. As part of China’s “zero-Covid” policy, the quarantine camps are in full operation.
A Canadian transgender high school teacher has gone viral after wearing a massive set of fake boobs with protruding nipples and short shorts in front of young students.
In the video, the male teacher can be seen teaching his students how to operate a circular saw while wearing very huge prosthetic breasts. The nipples of the fake breasts can be seen through the tight shirt that he is wearing.
The Canadian prime minister is making the rounds on social media, but for all the wrong reasons.
A video of Justin Trudeau singing Bohemian Rhapsody while appearing intoxicated is circulating on social media. The video was shot in the Corinthian Hotel in London, England.
The footage was quickly picked up by conservative influencers on Twitter, and the video is currently going viral. People have criticized Trudeau for seemingly being under the influence.
Some have described the clip as being “embarrassing” and “disgraceful.” Others have suggested Trudeau might have a problem with alcohol.
Recently, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau unveiled the Liberals’ plans to curb inflation in Canada, but one obvious issue with what was presented was that it all supposedly requires a lot more government spending in order to “make life more affordable.”
On the PMO’s website, they list these three initiatives to make life more affordable:
Double the Goods and Services Tax Credit (GSTC) for six months
Provide a Canada Dental Benefit to children under 12 who do not have access to dental insurance
Provide a one-time top-up to the Canada Housing Benefit to deliver $500 to 1.8 million Canadian renters
Even the first item on the list that sounds like it is a reimbursement for taxes paid is not at all that, and simply a transfer payment to people living below a certain level of income to the tune of a few hundred dollars for the average recipient. At the very least this point of the Liberals’ plan is targetted at lower-income Canadians, and, in theory, can be paid for with sales tax revenue, although its highly-unlikely the Liberals are not going to cut any spending to accommodate the doubling of these benefits.

The NATO-backed Atlantic Council has proposed apartheid Israel as a blueprint for a hyper-militarized Ukraine. The paper was authored by Obama’s former ambassador to Tel Aviv, now an Israeli spy-tech consultant.
Just forty days after Russia’s military campaign began inside Ukraine, Ukrainian President Vlodymyr Zelensky told reporters that in the future, his country would be like “a big Israel.” The following day, one of Israel’s top promoters in the Democratic Party published an op-ed in NATO’s official think tank exploring how that could be executed.
Zelensky made his prediction while speaking to reporters on April 5, rejecting the idea that Kiev would remain neutral in future conflicts between NATO, the European Union, and Russia. According to Zelensky, his country would never be like Switzerland (which coincidentally abandoned its Napoleon-era tradition of nonalignment by sanctioning Russia in response to its February invasion).
In March, Joe Biden ordered the release of millions of barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in order to address the record-high gas prices that were plaguing the nation. Gas prices are still way above normal, and Biden is still tapping those reserves, but he has a plan: once oil prices drop below $80/barrel, we’ll restock it.
It’s just too bad we didn’t load up the reserves when gas prices were much cheaper.
Oh, wait, Trump tried to do that. But Democrats stopped him.
President Biden avoided answering whether he will run for re-election during an appearance on Sunday’s "60 Minutes."
During the CBS interview, Scott Pelley asked the president whether he was "committed" to running for re-election in 2024 or whether "certain conditions" had to be met.
"Look, if I were to say to you, ‘I’m running again,’ all of a sudden, a whole range of things come into play that I have - requirements I have to change and move and do," Biden said, in terms of election laws.
One hundred of the 102 state's attorneys in Illinois are opposed to the state's new cashless bail provisions, which are set to take effect next year for crimes such as second-degree murder.
The state's new criminal justice reform law — the Illinois Safety, Accountability, Fairness and Equity-Today (SAFE-T) Act — is a 764-page omnibus bill that was passed by the state Senate at 4 a.m. on the last day of a lame duck legislative session and passed by the state House less than 24 hours later. Gov. J.B. Pritzker signed the measure into law in January 2021, but provisions such as abolishing cash bail and not allowing trespassers to be removed from properties by police will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2023.
Some county and village boards, such as Boone County and Orland Park Village, have unanimously approved resolutions to repeal or change the SAFE-T Act.
According to a press release from the Orland Park Village Board, a suburb of Chicago, cash bail will be abolished for crimes such as "kidnapping, armed robbery, second degree murder, drug induced homicide, aggravated DUI, threatening a public official and aggravated fleeing and eluding."
Insouciance has a cost, and the cost is now coming home to Western civilization.
Perhaps other civilizations have destroyed themselves, but it is certain that the Western world has destroyed itself. Other civilizations might have underestimated a threat, or made a military blunder, or like Cartage antagonized a more powerful foe. But the Western world is the first in history that, despite its dominant economic and military power, dismantled itself.
Everywhere one looks in the Western world, governments, intellectual and professional elites, and media have picked apart Western Civilization with relentless demonization beginning in the 1960s. (And yes there are older roots. The “march through the institutions” Frankfort School moved to Columbia University in the 1930s.) White liberals thought that this was the way to reform society, but they were delusional. It is the way to deconstruct society, and that is what they have achieved.
Hacker and network security specialist Peiter “Mudge” Zatko testified Tuesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee about allegations in his whistleblower report last month.
The Senate hearing arose from intense concerns that Twitter executives have failed in their responsibility to protect user data. In his whistleblower report, Zatko detailed a systemic lack of institutional concern for users’ data privacy or platform security throughout his tenure as the social media company’s security chief.
Persisting throughout the Senate hearing was a bipartisan strand of disappointment, as if Twitter were a long-treasured American manufacturer just recently succumbed to poor leadership.
But Americans should examine whether there ever was a perch from which Twitter fell to cause this disappointment in the company’s utter lack of concern for any outcome besides profit.
Education is a top priority to millions of American families, and parents should be empowered to choose a safe and effective education for their children. To serve that goal, The Heritage Foundation has published the Education Freedom Report Card, to serve as a guide for assessing education freedom in each state.
Our report card measures four broad categories (School Choice, Transparency, Regulatory Freedom, and Spending) that encompass more than two dozen discrete factors.
In this inaugural 2022 edition of the Education Freedom Report Card, Florida is the top-ranked state across the board. Families looking for a state that embraces education freedom, respects parents’ rights, and provides a decent ROI for taxpayers should look no further than The Sunshine State.
In second place overall this year in our report card is Arizona, a state that will certainly give Florida a run for its money next year in light of its recently expanded, now-universal ESA program. Idaho takes third place overall, thanks in large part to a strong ROI for taxpayer dollars and high levels of transparency to parents.
Jackson, the capital of Mississippi, didn’t have running water last week. Fortunately, water pressure has now been restored, but the unhappy residents are still being instructed to boil their tap water.
The Washington Post explains that the reason 82.5 percent black Jackson can’t keep its water running is…white people. Specifically, white people who aren’t around anymore:
White then Black residents abandoned Jackson, propelling its water crisis
Jackson’s travail is
…rooted in decades of racism, historians and infrastructure experts say…. White flight beginning in the 1970s drove onetime Jackson residents into neighboring areas.
But the black takeover of the state capital didn’t create Wakanda.
Both political parties have called for changes in the criminal justice system. Most politicians agree that these changes should not benefit violent offenders. However, Democratic mayors have taken steps to ensure violent offenders greatly benefit from changes. Many are allowed to walk free.
The Governor of Wisconsin, Tony Evers, is now helping some of the most violent criminals in the state enjoy freedom. They enjoy living in the community and now have the space to re-offend. The Evers Parole Commission is allowing them to be released back into society.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ hilarious Martha’s Vineyard massacre of Ruling Class hypocrisy on illegal immigration is just the start: The Biden Regime can’t admit the truth about the illegal immivasion because it deliberately caused it for Great Replacement reasons. Thus when NBC’s Chuck Todd noted recently that more than 2 million illegal aliens have been apprehended this fiscal year and asked Vice President Kamala Harris about it, Biden’s “Border Czar” claimed the border was “secure,” that problems there are former President Donald Trump’s fault, and that the solution is Amnesty [Kamala Harris insists border ‘secure’ as illegal migrants set to pass 2M, by Emily Crane, New York Post, September 12, 2022]. Democrats are handing a gift to the GOP/ GAP. The obvious questions: will the party seize on it to ensure a Red Wave in November’s midterms—and will Biden’s border treason motivate them to say they will impeach Biden if and when they take back Capitol Hill?
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, herself a Third-World immigrant, affirmed Harris’ claim last week. “We are doing a lot more [than Trump] to secure the border and could be doing even more if Republicans would stop their obstruction,” she claimed. This is the same woman who said last month that no illegals were walking across the border. Jean-Pierre added that Republicans blocked funding for border security in Congress [White House says Biden ‘doing a lot more’ than Trump ‘to secure the border’, W. James Antle III, Washington Examiner, September 13, 2022]. It’s unclear what this meant, but she’s presumably alluding to the Amnesty bill that Biden proposed in early 2021. Unlike past Amnesties, to please the Democrat Left that bill contained virtually no border security measures. Nor did it contain money for a border wall, or additional money for Border Patrol or Immigration and Customs Enforcement. It was a straight Amnesty.
Looks like America doesn’t have a monopoly on ”Hate Hoaxes.” In Germany, Manoj Subramanian, a Green party politician whose parents immigrated from Sri Lanka, has perpetrated a series of spectacular hate crimes against himself.
The alleged death threats from neo-Nazis against Green politician Manoj Subramaniam have made headlines across Germany and led to tension in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany’s largest state by population. However, the councilor from Erkelenz staged the various threats in an elaborate scheme, according to the result of an investigation published by the public prosecutor’s office.
[Hate hoax in Germany: Green politician resigns after inventing Nazi death threats against himself, by John Cody, Remix News, September 5, 2022]
And this wasn’t just one incident. Herr Subramanian had pulled off an entire series of hate hoaxes.
If white liberal Americans were serious about police reform, they’d call for objective speed cameras to replace subjective and thus no doubt racist traffic stops. But, instead, they don’t because they would prefer to explain to cops that, while they might have been driving a little too fast, hey, they aren’t the gangbangers you are looking for.
For example, liberal historian Rick Perlstein kvetches:
Hey @LoriLightfoot,, maybe it’s not crime that’s driving people (and corporations, who some say are people too…) out of Chicago as much as the daily nickle-and-diming speeding tickets that show up in the mail almost daily for going 41 mph in a 35 mph zone?
Apparently, the city of Chicago cut the grace zone from 10 mph over the speed limit to 5 mph without telling anybody to close the budget deficit.
At least three times during the 2020 presidential campaign, then-candidate Joe Biden made mention of getting arrested while attempting to visit Nelson Mandela when he was a senator. However, the truth was unearthed, whether he meant to or not, by the president himself.
Speaking to South African President Cyril Ramaphosa during a visit to the White House, Biden gave the latest and less exciting version of his story:
“I was a senator at the time, and we met in the Senate Foreign Relations executive committee room… and he came in, and we all stood there and said hello to him and the like. And afterwards, he asked me to come by my office. And he came by to say thank you, because he heard I had been stopped trying to get to — to visit him, to see him in prison,” Biden said.
He then admitted that he lied about being arrested, and was just stopped.
“I said once — I said I got arrested, I wasn’t arrested. I got stopped, prevented from moving,” Biden awkwardly admitted.
Judicial Watch announced today that it received previously sealed court documents, including depositions of IRS officials Lois Lerner, the former director of the Exempt Organizations Unit of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), and Holly Paz, her top aide and former IRS director of Office of Rulings and Agreements, which show that they knew most Tea Party organizations were legally entitled to tax-exempt status in the run up to the Obama reelection in 2012.
The release comes in the December 2017 amicus curiae brief (friend of the court) filed by Judicial Watch in NorCal Tea Party Patriots, et al. v. The Internal Revenue Service, et al. (No. 1:13-cv-00341). Judicial Watch argued that the documents sought may shed light on government misconduct, and the shielding of internal government deliberations does not serve the public’s interest.
Lerner’s and Paz’s depositions were sealed by Judge Barrett in April 2017, after Lerner’s and Paz’s lawyers claimed the two officials were receiving threats. The court finally ordered the unsealing of the depositions four years after plaintiffs requested the depositions be unsealed and only after plaintiffs filed for a writ of mandamus to force action in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. (In December 2017, Judicial Watch submitted an amicus curiae (friend of the court) brief in support of plaintiffs’ request that the depositions should be unsealed.)
A Michigan Democratic congressional candidate’s former law firm claimed on its website that authorities "lead and manipulate" children in sex abuse cases to get "incriminating statements."
Carl Marlinga, the Democrat running to represent Michigan’s new 10th district in Congress, was the named partner for the criminal defense firm, the Marlinga Law Group.
The firm’s website highlighted the defense attorney services provided to clients, including those for violent crimes as well as sex crimes both online and off.
Joe Biden declared the pandemic "over" in an interview with 60 Minutes released on Sunday -- just in time for the midterms.
"The pandemic is over," Biden told CBS News' Scott Pelley. "We still have a problem with Covid. We're still doing a lot of work on it. It's -- but the pandemic is over."

A crazy man at a New York City McDonald’s took out an axe and demolished the restaurant during an altercation at 2:30 AM on Saturday morning.
The video of the incident went viral.
31-year-old Michael Palacios was arrested and charged with criminal mischief, three counts of menacing, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, Newsweek reported.
“Upon arrival of officers, witnesses at the location reported that the suspect got into a physical dispute with three unknown males inside of the location,” a spokesperson for the NYPD wrote in an email.
The spokesperson added: “The suspect removed an ax from his backpack and menaced the unknown males. The suspect intentionally caused property damage to the establishment. The individual was taken into custody by responding officers. A search incident to a lawful arrest, an additional knife was recovered from his backpack. Victims did not report any injuries.”
Palacios was released from jail without bail.
A feature of the modern age is Hollywood remaking or rebooting old cultural works by smearing them with elements of the new religion. Maybe they swap out the traditional male lead with a strong, independent female. Other times they will colorize a film that is set in a time and place when diversity meant variations on blue eye color. Nothing like a black Richard the Lionheart to subvert expectations.
That last bit, subverting expectations, is the cover story. When people point out the silliness of having black Vikings or a female Captain America, the usual suspects start chanting “subverting expectations” like an incantation. You see, it is not about their efforts to mock your culture. The real issue is your lack of imagination. That is why they have no choice but to subvert your expectations.
On the other side of it you find the conservatives, who insist that these things are done as a marketing gimmick to get attention. You see, according to the conservatives, these people only care about money, so they deface cultural products like classic films as a way to attract the new diverse audience by exciting the old audience. If you do not like it, just ignore it or build your own movie studio like Ben Shapiro.
One London evening in 1914, just after Great Britain had declared war on Germany, British Foreign Secretary Sir Edward Grey was in his parliamentary office talking to a journalist. This is not always advisable for today’s politicians, but in those days statesmen from Westminster and hacks from Fleet Street took dinner at the same club, or at least within the same social set, and his confidant was John Alfred Spender, editor of the influential Westminster Gazette. “The lamps are going out all over Europe,” said Sir Edward mournfully. “We shall not see them lit again in our lifetime.” A quotable quote, certainly, as long as we bear one thing in mind: Sir Edward was speaking figuratively.
Almost a quarter of a century later, Winston Churchill updated the phrase during a speech broadcast in America just before World War II, saying that “the lights are going out” across Europe, and referring of course to the rise of Hitler. Once again, he spoke figuratively. Eighty years after that, a man who has been called “literally Hitler” made a speech to the United Nations. In that speech, Donald Trump was not being figurative when he informed delegates that following the German energy model of almost complete reliance on power supplied by Vladimir Putin’s Russia would be ruinous. The German delegation openly mocked him. This has turned out to be unwise, particularly when you are from the country that invented the word schadenfreude.
The European Union presidency has called for an international tribunal over Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The call, from the Czech Republic which currently holds the rotating presidency of the bloc, came after the discovery of hundreds of graves in Izyum, a town recently liberated by Ukrainian troops.
Many are said to be civilians, women and children among them.
"We stand for the punishment of all war criminals," Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky said.
Ukraine says it believes war crimes have been committed in Izyum, where 59 bodies have been exhumed so far - with more expected from the graves in a forest at the edge of the city.
"In the 21st Century, such attacks against the civilian population are unthinkable and abhorrent," Mr Lipavsky said.
"We must not overlook it. We stand for the punishment of all war criminals," he said.

A 6.8 magnitude earthquake rattled much of Taiwan on Sunday, which followed a 6.4 magnitude earthquake Saturday, according to Taiwan's Central Weather Bureau (CWB).
The magnitude 6.8 quake hit around 2:44 pm local time (0644 GMT), with an epicenter in Taitung county, a town in the eastern part of the island nation. CWB said the quake was recorded at a relatively shallow depth of 7 kilometers (4 miles).
The US Geological Survey initially reported that the quake registered a 7.2 magnitude but revised it to 6.9 -- still a higher reading than CWB's estimate.
Amid a two-month court battle which saw a federal judge side with a group of US Marines over the right to refuse the Covid-19 vaccine based on religious objections, the US Marine Corps has quietly dropped strict punishments for service members who are seeking exemptions.
A Sept. 14 notice reads that the "Marine Corps will not enforce any order to accept COVID-19 vaccination, administratively separate, or retaliate against Marines in the class for asserting statutory rights under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act."
The guidance references the temporary order blocking the Marines from taking action against individuals seeking a religious exemption.
