Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg filed 34 felony counts of falsifying business records against former President Donald Trump, but the prosecution's case fails to hold water, several legal experts told Blaze News.

What's the background?

Bragg's case hinged on testimony from Trump's former lawyer, Michael Cohen, a convicted felon, admitted thief, and repeat liar. According to Cohen, he paid porn actress Stormy Daniels $130,000 in so-called hush money to keep quiet about an alleged affair with the former president. Cohen claimed that Trump instructed him to execute the settlement agreement with Daniels.

The colossal sunspot group AR3664 responsible for the epic May 2024 solar storms and widespread auroras is back — well, almost.

Yesterday (May 27), a powerful X-class solar flare erupted from the sun's southeastern limb, peaking around 3:08 a.m. EDT (0708 GMT).

Solar flares are energetic eruptions of electromagnetic radiation from the sun's surface that occur when magnetic energy accumulating in the solar atmosphere is released. They are categorized by size into lettered groups, with X-class being the most powerful. Within each class, numbers from 1-10 (and beyond for X-class flares) describe a flare's relative strength. The recent X-flare clocked in at an X-2.9 according to Spaceweatherlive.com

The Biden administration is pressuring Britain, France, and other nations to halt their plans to censure Iran at the upcoming  International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors meeting in June. This action is prompted by the disconcerting fact that Iran’s nuclear program has made significant strides. This situation is exacerbated by the regime’s persistent non-cooperation and lack of transparency with the IAEA, which demands immediate attention.

A report in the Wall Street Journal claims that concerns are rising that a new government led by a replacement of President Ebrahim Raisi would be even more volatile. Raisi was killed in a helicopter crash earlier this month.

“On Monday, the U.N. atomic-energy agency reported that Iran’s stockpile of 60% highly enriched uranium rose 20.6 kilograms to 142.1 kg as of May 11 from three months earlier, its highest level to date, teh WSJ  reported. “U.S. officials say that material could be converted into weapons-grade enriched uranium in a matter of days. It would then be enough to fuel three nuclear weapons.”

Fears of Iran’s nuclear aspirations rose after it attacked Israel last month, launching the largest attempted drone strike in history composed of 170 drones, 30 cruise missiles, and 120 ballistic missiles.

Joe Biden is salivating at the prospect of his political archrival being convicted in the Stormy Daniels hush money trial in Manhattan, with jury deliberations set to begin this week.

If Donald Trump is found guilty in the first criminal prosecution of a former president, it will be a travesty of justice and a clear attempt to rig the 2024 presidential election.

But the ploy risks backfiring on Biden in the same way that Republican attacks on Bill Clinton over his affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky did. Voters look dimly on the abuse of legal power to police private morals and, even though Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg has tried to dress up his prosecution of Trump as a campaign-finance violation, it’s obvious to everyone that the whole point was the prurient retelling of his alleged night of passion with a porn star that so titillated the new prudes of MSNBC.

According to Politico, as soon as the jury comes back, Biden will deliver a statement addressing the verdict in a “White House setting — not a campaign one — to show his statement isn’t political.”
Hah! As if.

When the war in Ukraine broke out and hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians streamed into Germany, there was an outpouring of support. Now, Ukrainian refugees are increasingly taking a backseat to other migrants, with 1,700 told to leave their apartments in the Ore Mountains in Saxony to make room for newcomers.

The district office sent termination letters to Ukrainians occupying 650 apartments in the cities of Zschopau, Aue, and Marienberg, telling the tenants they would no longer have an apartment by July, which means they have just weeks to find new places to live.

These Ukrainians need to make way for migrants from Syria, Afghanistan, and Turkey who are currently undergoing asylum procedures, but the issue is that 90 percent of all available asylum housing is occupied.

The letter the Ukrainians received said that they were previously warned to find new apartments, writing: “For this reason, we hereby call on you to immediately find your own living space and to leave the apartment provided to you by June 15th at 12 p.m. From this date, we revoke the use of the apartment.”

But the Mad Max prequel’s $32 million domestic opening weekend was the Memorial Day weekend’s worst No. 1 performance since 1995’s Casper, with $22.5 million, not adjusted for inflation and excluding 2020, when theaters were closed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In China, electric vehicles have been assigned to vast graveyards of unsold vehicles. While ride-share services bought the vehicles at subsidised prices, private buyers are not so keen.  So last year China began dumping its electric vehicles in Europe, where they are filling up the ports at Rotterdam and Antwerp.

The US also has unsold stocks of electric cars.  And in Britain, the momentum for electric vehicles has slowed.

The great electric revolution that was promised just three years ago is already failing – and it will bring the car manufacturers down with it.

“We are often told that it is ‘anxiety’ as the cause. It is not. This is NOT a ‘mental disorder’. This is a full-body assault that results in mental changes,” he said.

Nothing in WHO’s Pandemic Treaty can rise from the ashes of the negotiations to be voted on this week. The treaty is done.

And of the amended International Health Regulations articles that were agreed upon and will be put forward for countries to vote on this week, the only one of any real concern relates to the surveillance of citizens to combat misinformation and disinformation.

However, as Dr. Meryl Nass points out, governments are already monitoring our speech, censoring and propagandising us.  So, although it is a great concern, it is nothing new.

It's yet another reminder of why blindly 'trusting the science' may not always be the best go-to move in the future.

217 year old Wiley science publisher has reportedly "peer reviewed" more than 11,000 papers that were determined to be fake without ever noticing. The papers were referred to as "naked gobbledygook sandwiches",  Australian blogger Jo Nova wrote on her blog last week.

"It’s not just a scam, it’s an industry," she said. "Who knew, academic journals were a $30 billion dollar industry?"

According to Nova's post, professional cheating services are employing AI to craft seemingly "original" academic papers by shuffling around words. For instance, terms like "breast cancer" morphed into "bosom peril," and a "naïve Bayes" classifier turns into "gullible Bayes."

Similarly, in one paper, an ant colony was bizarrely rebranded as an "underground creepy crawly state."

German journalists have recently unveiled a corruption scandal involving the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. According to their investigation, von der Leyen allegedly used her influence to help Russian company “Krasniy oktyabr” evade the sanctions imposed by the European Union after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The scandal comes less than two weeks before the European Parliament elections, casting a shadow over one of the most prominent Members of the European Parliament (MEP). Ursula von der Leyen’s career has been marred by numerous scandals, such as the Bundeswehr scandal and Pfizergate. This new report raises more questions about her integrity and motives.
