Reid Hoffman, the Democratic megadonor who co-founded LinkedIn, is under scrutiny for comments made about President Donald Trump. Hoffman, who sits on the boards of both Microsoft and the Pentagon’s Defense Innovation Board, recently said he wished he could have made Trump “an actual martyr.” This remark, made shortly before an assassination attempt on Trump, has drawn significant backlash.

Hoffman, a former associate of Jeffrey Epstein, has long been a supporter of anti-Trump and anti-GOP causes. His controversial statement, reported by Puck, came just days before an attempted assassin shot Trump in the ear at a rally in Pennsylvania. Although Hoffman later condemned the assassination attempt, he also criticized Trump for his rhetoric about the Capitol riots. Hoffman’s political adviser, Dmitri Mehlhorn, suggested the shooting might have been staged to benefit Trump politically.

Hoffman’s comments have created headaches for Democrats, who have received substantial donations from him. His involvement with prominent organizations like Microsoft and the Pentagon has also raised questions. Hoffman sits on Microsoft’s Environmental, Social, and Public Policy Committee, which advises on regulatory risks and oversees public policy and government relations activities. At the Pentagon, he serves on the Defense Innovation Board, which advises on war-fighting technologies and innovation.

Top Democratic leaders, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), have urged the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to delay the nomination vote for President Joe Biden. This move, reported by Axios, allows more time for lawmakers with reservations about Biden’s candidacy to voice their concerns.

The DNC announced that the virtual roll-call vote of delegates to confirm Biden as the nominee will now occur in the first week of August, instead of mid-July, as reported by The New York Times. The national convention will take place from August 19-22 in Chicago. The delay gives lawmakers additional time to address their apprehensions regarding Biden’s ability to defeat former President Donald Trump in the upcoming election.

As pressure mounts from within his own party, President Joe Biden remains steadfast in his decision to continue his reelection campaign. Despite growing calls from top Democrats to reconsider, Biden is preparing to hit the campaign trail next week, determined to challenge the “dark vision” presented by Republican rival Donald Trump.

In recent days, more than 30 Democratic lawmakers have urged Biden to step down, following a disappointing debate performance against Trump. Biden, isolating at his Delaware beach house after testing positive for COVID-19, has been consulting with family and a few close aides while resisting efforts to push him aside.

Secret Service officials repeatedly rejected Donald Trump’s request for additional security in the two years before last weekend’s assassination attempt, The Post has learned.

The ex-president, 78, asked for more agents and magnetometers at large public events he attended, as well as extra snipers for outdoor venues, four insiders told The Washington Post, which first reported the damning revelation.

Each request was shot down by senior officials who claimed the agency lacked the resources Trump was asking for, the outlet reported.

Airlines, payment processors, 911 call centers, TV networks, and other businesses have been scrambling this morning after a buggy update to CrowdStrike's Falcon security software caused Windows-based systems to crash with a dreaded blue screen of death (BSOD) error message.

We're updating our story about the outage with new details as we have them. Microsoft and CrowdStrike both say that "the affected update has been pulled," so what's most important for IT admins in the short term is getting their systems back up and running again. According to guidance from Microsoft, fixes range from annoying but easy to incredibly time-consuming and complex, depending on the number of systems you have to fix and the way your systems are configured.

Microsoft's Azure status page outlines several fixes. The first and easiest is simply to try to reboot affected machines over and over, which gives affected machines multiple chances to try to grab CrowdStrike's non-broken update before the bad driver can cause the BSOD. Microsoft says that some of its customers have had to reboot their systems as many as 15 times to pull down the update.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, who spread many false claims about the COVID-19 pandemic, is now downplaying former President Donald Trump’s injuries during an assassination attempt on his life at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

The former president was grazed by a bullet and was seen bleeding heavily from his right ear. Fauci called such a wound “superficial.”

Notably, Fauci served as the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases under the Trump and Biden administrations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Webmaster addition: The Democrats are trying to trivialize the assassination attempt by claiming the wound was not serious. But the severity of the wound is not the issue. That it exists at all is!

Global economy crippled by digital pandemic: IT outage could last days

It remains unclear how widespread the payroll disruption is, but Melanie Pizzey, the founder and CEO of GPA said her company had received complaints from a number of clients who couldn’t access their payroll software because of the outage.

Payroll systems typically need to be notified of any issues that would stop direct deposits from going through at least two days before the payday for the issue to be resolved in time.

The White House has over the last several months imposed a series of sanctions against small Israeli settler groups accused of committing human rights abuses against Palestinians and of stealing land. These are so limited (largely amounting to restrictions on travel to the US) that they are largely seen as merely symbolic.

There are new reports in Israeli media saying the Biden administration is mulling a big next step: sanctioning top Israeli government ministers who are known to encourage and support radical settler groups in the West Bank.

Via Flash90

The Jerusalem Post reports that Biden's National Security Council held a meeting days ago to discuss strategies to thwart expanding Jewish settlements in the West Bank.Among the plans reportedly discussed was the possibility of sanctions on hardline and outspoken Netanyahu coalition ministers Bezalel Smotrich and Itamar Ben-Gvir. Not only have these two officials frequently made incendiary remarks seen as exacerbating the Gaza crisis, but they openly encourage Israelis to move in on Palestinian land.

The two actually oversee Israeli government policy in Judea and Samaria, where some of the most extreme settler groups have a significant presence.

Ben-Gvir and Smotrich have also regularly denounced the 'weakness' of Biden administration policy on the Gaza crisis in the wake of the Oct.7 terror attacks on southern Israel.

The have both claimed that Biden is 'helping Hamas'

Claire's Observations:  these kinds of sanctions will only happen when pigs discover they are aerodynamic.

"When you look at the complexity -- one step ahead," he tried to say, reaching for a bottle of water. "It's been a long night."

"In this particular case, our systems are always looking for the latest attacks... So this content update went out, obviously we've got a robust team... and we have to go back and see what happened."

Cyber threats to elections in the U.S. and abroad remain at an elevated level and continue to evolve. It’s appropriate and encouraging to see continued growth and investment in cybersecurity efforts within elections communities. As a longstanding leader in defending elections globally, CrowdStrike understands the importance of these efforts and we want to do our part to help raise and sustain awareness. As we’ve said previously, those in a position to contribute to election cybersecurity have a responsibility to do so

The Secret Service were lying through their teeth when they claimed last week that it was "absolutely false" that Trump's security team had their requests for additional security resources denied, according to a new report.

From The Washington Post, "Secret Service said to have denied requests for more security at Trump events":

Top officials at the U.S. Secret Service repeatedly denied requests for additional resources and personnel sought by Donald Trump’s security detail in the two years leading up to his attempted assassination at a rally in Pennsylvania last Saturday, according to four people familiar with the requests.

Agents charged with protecting the former president requested magnetometers and more agents to screen attendees at sporting events and other large public gatherings Trump attended, as well as additional snipers and specialty teams at other outdoor events, said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe sensitive security discussions. The requests, which have not been previously reported, were sometimes denied by senior officials at the agency, who cited various reasons, including a lack of resources at an agency that has long struggled with staffing shortages, they said.

In the previous article of this series, we saw that using the large electrical power provided by a lighweight nuclear reactor the Russians could develop a jammer satellite able to severely degrade communications going through geostationary satellites. However, its utility against communications provided by constellations in low Earth orbit is more limited. To take them out of action, which is increasingly important for Russia since the USA is deploying a constellation providing communications, imagery and missile tracking, a more direct approach is needed.

So in this article, we will review how this electrical power can be used to bring to bear directed energy weapons. These “death ray” weapons were quite popular during the 1980s, when Reagan’s Strategic Defense Initiative planned to use them to destroy Soviet intercontinental ballistic missiles, and the decoys and warheads they carried. The plans did not pan out, but 40 years later the same technologies can be leveraged against easier targets. Let’s see what high power microwave, neutral particle beams, and lasers can do in this scenario.

The top US commander in the Middle East warned Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin that the US’s operations against Houthi fighters in Yemen are "failing" to deter the Iran-backed group from attacking international shipping, The Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

In a classified letter, General Michael Erik Kurilla, the head of US Central Command (Centcom), suggested the US should take a more forceful approach against the Houthis, the report said. The letter comes amid fears that Red Sea tensions could draw in Russia

The WSJ cited an exclusive article published by Middle East Eye last month which revealed US intelligence agencies learned Russian President Vladimir Putin has mulled arming Yemen’s Houthis with anti-ship cruise missiles.MEE revealed that Putin was dissuaded from the move by Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. “Putin engaged Mohammed bin Salman who requested them (Russia) not to pursue the arrangement," the senior US official previously told MEE.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the Biden administration still believes Putin could pursue the arrangement and is confidently trying to stop Russia from arming the Houthis.

Fears about the Houthis' access to potentially more sophisticated weapons are likely to grow, following a drone attack on Tel Aviv on Monday that killed one person and injured several others. The Houthis claimed responsibility for the strike.

Russia recently launched a satellite that is "likely a counterspace weapon," a U.S. diplomat and the Pentagon said last week, raising new allegations that Russia is weaponizing space. Observers say the Cosmos satellite launched on May 16, reaching an orbit that essentially lets it stalk a U.S. spy satellite.

The U.S. accusation raises questions about how a satellite might be used as a weapon to attack other satellites in low Earth orbit — and how countries might target a rival's assets in space.

Here are answers to some key questions.

Authored by Victor Davis Hanson via American Greatness,

Joe Biden’s escalating dementia and the long media-political conspiracy to hide his senility from the public are the least of the Democrats’ current problems.

Biden’s track record as president may be more concerning than his cognitive decline. He has literally destroyed the U.S. border, deliberately allowing the entry of more than 10 million illegal aliens. His callous handlers’ agenda was to import abjectly poor constituencies in need of vast government services without regard for the current struggles of a battered American middle class and poor. The widespread poverty of a vast new cohort of illegal immigrants could serve as indictments of a “racist,” “unequal,” and “unfair” America—as if the residents of East Palestine, Ohio or inner-city Chicago had anything to do with the centuries-long corruption and oppression of Mexico and Latin America that daily drives thousands of their own poorest citizens northwards to a society founded on very different ideas than those of their homelands.

Note that the left, neither in Mexico nor in America, never asks why millions of these impoverished people prefer to break into a supposedly racist America. Much less do they even distinguish those principles and values that once made America prosperous, free, and secure from their antitheses that have sadly made much of Latin America mostly poor, without freedom, and insecure.

A call Friday featuring Vice President Kamala Harris and about 300 major Democratic donors left many who dialed in frustrated, with one donor declaring it “ludicrous” shortly before it ended, according to two sources familiar with the call.

One person on the call referred to it as “mismanaged” and “rushed.” They added expectations had not been managed well and some participants left feeling admonished.

That person and two other sources said many donors joined hoping to get an insider’s view of how to move forward in the wake of President Joe Biden’s dismal debate performance and the growing number of Democrats calling for him to drop out of the race. Instead, they said donors left the call feeling disappointed and like they had not gained any new insights or helpful information.

The damning details revealed that the ex-president's request for more agents and magnetometers at events he attended was denied.

Four insiders told The Washington Post that each request was rejected by senior officials. The higher-ups of the Secret Service allegedly claimed that the agency lacked the resources Trump was asking for

It has also been revealed that Trump was receiving less protection - after losing the election and his bid for a second term in 2020 - than other former presidents and major party presidential candidates.

A bombshell new poll has predicted which presidential candidate will win the election based on a 'no tossup' electoral map.

RealClearPolitics showed Trump taking multiple swing states in the Rust Belt region - in addition to one that hasn't been nabbed by a Republican in decades.

The map shows Trump winning in Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and even Virginia.

Biden won Virginia in 2020 by 10 points and no Republican has taken the state since former president George W. Bush did so in 2004.

Donald Trump's campaign is preparing an attack plan to take down Kamala Harris if Joe Biden pulls out of the race.

If Biden steps aside as the Democratic nominee, Harris will likely replace him - and Trump's team has already started to form a strategy to take her down.

The plan includes a wave of ads that will focus on Harris's record in her current office - as well as the time she spent in office in her home state of California

Trump's campaign strategists have prepared opposition research books on Harris, two people briefed on the matter told the New York Times

According to the two people - anti-Harris signs and videos were made to show the delegates in the arena of the Republic National Convention and the TV audiences at home.

Surprising new polls have revealed if Democrats actually want Kamala Harris to become president as Biden's campaign implodes and his popularity amongst the left dwindles.

A poll found that around six in 10 Democrats think that Vice President Harris would do well if Biden stepped aside and she was president herself.

Polling, which was conducted by the AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, determined that a majority of Democrats believe the country would be in good hands if Harris took over.

Approximately 58 percent of Democrats think Harris would make a good president - while 22 percent think she would not and 20 percent 'do not know enough to say'.

Donald Trump confessed what he really thinks about the Secret Service in an interview after they put his life at risk - and disclosed another glaring oversight.

The Republican presidential candidate revealed he was not warned about his attacker by the Secret Service - despite agents receiving worrying reports from rally-goers before Trump even got on stage.

In an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters, the former president discussed his ill-fated rally in Butler, Pennsylvania

Trump told the interviewer that 'nobody mentioned' Thomas Matthew Crooks, the 20-year-old gunman, despite the fact that he was being monitored for 'an hour' before the shooting.

'Mistakes were made,' Watters told Trump. 'They were monitoring this guy for an hour beforehand. No one told you not to take the stage?'

McDonald's along with Burger King, Wendy's, Subway, and many other fast food restaurants are making a last ditch effort to provide cheap meal deals temporarily to get customers back in the store. But how will this help them in the long run if people are only coming to buy these cheap deals and nothing else? Also, even with these deals, the foot traffic increase has been lackluster. Sounds like a sign of a strong economy....
