LIDAR stands for “Light Detection and Ranging.” It is a sensor technology that can create a map of the environment around it. LIDAR sensors send out waves of infrared light around the car’s surroundings and measure the time it takes for the light to bounce off the objects and return to the sensor, creating a three-dimensional map out of the data.
The “hack” works because a perfectly-timed laser aimed directly at a LIDAR can create a blind spot large enough for the infrared sensors to not see an object or a pedestrian in front of the autonomous vehicle.

An early-morning explosion rendered inoperable last major bridge out of Kherson, the Antonivsky Bridge. New satellite images show large gaps in the structure, which was being used by Russian forces fleeing from the strategically important city in eastern Ukraine.
"It was very foggy in the morning and we couldn't see much, but people from Antonivka say that the roofs of the houses were taken away by the explosion wave," one local resident told The New York Times.
Neither side has claimed responsibility for the blast, but Rob Lee, a senior fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute, wrote on Twitter that the bridge "was destroyed by Russian forces as they retreated." Prior to the Russian retreat from Kherson, Ukrainian officials accused Russia of destroying various bridges, the suspected aim being to slow the Ukrainian advance.
In yet another effort to discover the murderer of 6-year-old beauty pageant queen JonBenet Ramsey, who was found bludgeoned and strangled in her family’s basement in 1996, local police are now going to work with a review team to use new technology to find the killer.
The Center for Information and Research on Civic Learning and Engagement at Tufts University released an early estimate showing that around 27% of people ages 18 to 29 voted in 2022. They also believe the number of young people voting was even greater in some states that had major elections.
President Biden told the nations of the world Friday he regretted that former President Donald Trump pulled the US out of a landmark emissions reduction pact and warned of looming “climate hell” — hours after making a series of gaffes while leaving the White House.
“We immediately rejoined the Paris agreement,” Biden said in a Veterans Day speech at the COP27 global warming conference in Egypt’s Red Sea resort city of Sharm el-Sheikh.
“I apologize we ever pulled out of the agreement,” the president added.
Trump formally withdrew the US from the Paris agreement in November 2020 — about two months before Biden took office — after saying he would do so in 2017 because “I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh, not Paris.”
Maricopa County dropped another ballot dump last night favoring the Democrats.
Bill Gates said in a press conference last night, “we have about 400 to 410,000 more to be counted. I told this group that we anticipated 90 to 99% of the ballots to be counted by Friday. That’s tomorrow, but I’m here to tell you that the goalposts have changed.” He also said they are expecting to count through the weekend.
When something is so obvious, if the outcome makes no sense, if the outcome is literally impossible, then it is what it is. Forget “proof.” You know it. You saw it. You felt it. You experienced it. It happened. It’s real.
The 2022 midterm was just stolen. Just like 2020.
If you disagree, you’re either delusional, or terribly naïve, or brain dead. Or you’re in on the fix.
It’s time to admit we’re all part of a massive experiment in fraud, theft, brainwashing, and gaslighting to a degree never seen in world history.
Think of all the times in just the past few years you’ve been gaslighted. They lied to you about open borders…they lied about Hillary’s 30,000 deleted emails…they lied about spying on Trump…they lied about Russian Collusion…they lied about a perfectly fine Ukrainian phone call…they lied about massive Biden corruption in Ukraine and China… they lied about the Hunter Biden laptop…they lied about the origins of Covid…they lied about the need for lockdowns and masks…they lied about the need for Covid vaccines…they lied about the vaccines being “safe and effective”…they lied and covered up all the deaths and injuries from the vaccine…they lied about the success of miracle drugs Hydroxychloroquine and Ivermectin…they lied about the stolen 2020 election…
What, if anything, did the midterms tell us about the country -- other than underwhelming Republicans could still take the House and Senate?
During the COVID-19 lockdowns, American elections radically changed to mail-in and early voting. They did so in a wild variety of state-by-state ways. Add ranked voting and a required majority margin to the mess and the result is that once cherished Election Day balloting becomes increasingly irrelevant.
Election Night also no longer exists. Returns are not counted for days. It is intolerable for a modern democracy to wait and wait for all sorts of different ballots both cast and counted under radically different and sometimes dubious conditions.
The Democrats -- with overwhelming media and money advantages -- have mastered these arts of massive and unprecedented early, mail-in, and absentee voting. Old-fashioned Republicans count on riling up their voters to show up on Election Day. But it is far easier to finesse and control the mail-in ballots than to "get out the vote."
The country is divided in more ways than ever. America's interior just gets redder and the bicoastal corridors bluer.
As many as 280,000 tonnes of Russian mineral fertilizers remain arrested in European ports, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Vershinin said on Saturday.
“Up to 280,000 tonnes of Russian mineral fertilizers have been under arrest in a number of European countries over recent months,” Vershinin said adding that Russia supported gratuitous exports of these arrested fertilizers to countries in need, especially in Africa.
The deputy minister added that Moscow was not satisfied with the implementation of the Black Sea grain deal, as Russian food products and fertilizers should have a “real access” to international markets.
The U.S. Border Protection commissioner says he refused an order to resign from his beleaguered boss, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, amid an unprecedented wave of illegal immigrants pouring across the Mexican border.
The Department of Justice allegedly raided a researcher who reports information about Area 51 on his self-run website — raising larger concerns, again, that the feds are abusing their power under President Joe Biden.
Real America’s Voice correspondent Ben Bergquam reported on Steve Bannon’s War Room that Patriots in Maricopa County are planning a peaceful and patriotic rally outside the elections department following Maricopa County’s attack on free speech and elections.
This will take place outside 510 S 3rd Ave. in Phoenix, Arizona at noon.
According to Bergquam, the group will protest Maricopa County’s censorship and removal of conservative press and “what’s going on in that building.”
Maricopa County is still counting the ballots from Tuesday’s election, and they are expected to continue through the weekend and into next week.
North Carolina Republicans won two seats on the state Supreme Court in Tuesday’s election.
This result is an important one for Republicans in that swing state. Now, the majority is 5-2 for Republicans on the state Supreme Court.
Republican appeals court Judge Richard Dietz defeated his Democrat opponent 53-47%. Republican Trey Allen, general counsel for the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts, was another 52-48% winner over his Democrat opponent.
Construction came to a halt at the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago after a noose was reportedly found in the foundation on Thursday. The center, located in Jackson Park on the city’s South Side, will be home to former President Barack Obama’s presidential library and museum.
Three days later, Pennsylvania is STILL not finished counting all the ballots. Not surprisingly, in the crooked city of Philadelphia, where Black Panthers once stood guard outside of a polling place, the Democrats have 82% of the vote, and Republicans are at 16%. Meanwhile, the majority of the state is red.
Democrats were desperate to save John Fetterman from his dumpster fire campaign, as the Trump-endorsed Dr. Mehmet Oz was pulling ahead in the polls. But somehow, on the day after the election, it was announced that despite the polling showing the cognitively challenged post-stroke victim John Fetterman falling behind in the polls, he somehow managed to receive more votes than his Republican opponent Dr. Oz.
On Oct. 28, hours after completing his $44 billion buyout of Twitter the night before, Mr. Musk gathered several human-resource executives in a "war room" in the company's offices in San Francisco. Prepare for widespread layoffs, he told them, six people with knowledge of the discussion said. Twitter's work force needed to be slashed immediately [...]
The scope of layoffs was a moving target. Twitter managers were initially told to cut 25 percent of the work force, three people said. But Tesla engineers who reviewed Twitter's code proposed deeper cuts to the engineering teams. Executives overseeing other parts of Twitter were told to expand their layoff lists.
Twitter executives also suggested assessing the lists for diversity and inclusion issues so the cuts would not hit people of color disproportionately and to avoid legal trouble. Mr. Musk's team brushed aside the suggestion, two people said.
The UK and the EU will boycott Russia’s delegation at the Bali summit of the Group of Twenty (G20) next week, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Citing EU officials, the newspaper reported on Friday that London and Brussels plan to stage walkouts when Russian delegates speak.
"The UK is not keen on coordinating with the EU on foreign policy in general but on this issue, we have the same objective and are mutually reinforcing our efforts," Daily Telegraph cited a spokesman from the EU’s foreign affairs service as saying. The newspaper noted that at the summit, the UK and the EU would urge Russia to de-escalate the Ukrainian conflict.
That said, the EU is going to make clear that any peace talks should be on terms acceptable to Kiev. However, Europe thinks that any call to de-escalation addressed to Russia might not be reflected in the summit’s final statement due to Moscow’s and Beijing’s positions. The EU official described Russian-Chinese cooperation as a "no-limit friendship."
The anonymous team of hackers known as “Joker DPR”, which has recently hacked military command and control programs used by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), including the advanced US DELTA program, claimed another cyber victory over the Ukrainian and NATO military.
On November 11, they leaked secret documents of NATO commanders to the AFU and US, Canadian, British forces. The documents include the daily data on the location and manoeuvres of Russian forces and military equipment in different regions, including in Russia and in Crimea back in summer.
The publication of the secret documents was hackers’ response to the ongoing attempts of the Kiev regime to deny the fact that their military coordination and command programs were hacked. The hackers provided the secret NATO documents with the following message:
Election night did not deliver the overwhelming victory Republicans had hoped for on a national level, but on a local level — in school board races — conservatives picked up a wave of wins across the country.
