“What if the rights and principles guaranteed in the Constitution have been so distorted in the past 200 years as to be unrecognizable by the Founders? What if the government was the reason we don’t have a Constitution anymore? What if freedom’s greatest hour of danger is now?” -- Andrew P. Napolitano

The length of telomeres that protect the ends of our chromosomes should be tightly regulated. Those that are too long predispose to cancer, and those that are too short lose their protective ability, resulting in telomere disorders with serious health consequences.

Our cells prevent this excessive shortening by adding telomeric DNA to the ends of chromosomes. Researchers at Rockefeller showed that this process is mediated by two enzymes: telomerase and the CST–Polα/primase complex. Having determined how telomerase is recruited, scientists were left with a fundamental question: how does CST–Polα/primase find its way to the telomere?

Now, a new study published in Cell demonstrates that CST is recruited to the end of the telomere and regulated by subtle chemical changes made to POT1, a protein in the shelterin complex involved in telomere maintenance and implicated in cancer risk. The findings provide new insight into how human telomeres function at the molecular level, with implications for numerous diseases and disorders.

"After the discovery of telomerase, it took decades to figure out how it gets to the telomere. Now, just months after discovering that CST–Polα/primase is the second critical enzyme required for telomere maintenance, we understand the details of how it is recruited," says Titia de Lange, the Leon Hess professor. "Moreover, we've found out how this process is regulated."

When the patsy, Sirhan Sirhan, most likely under the influence of scopolamine, opened fire on Robert Kennedy from the front, a CIA agent fired the kill shot at close range into the back of Kennedy's head.

The same agent who coordinated the operation and was at the scene, was later brought out of retirement to "handle" the congressional investigation into the assasination.

All 3 members of the assasination team are now dead, but many of those connected to them still hold high offices in government.

The disgraced government bureaucrat even claimed he defended the now-hated COVID vaccines because they “save lives.” He said, “It is very, very clear that vaccines have saved hundreds of thousands of Americans and millions worldwide.”

But soon after he defended vaccines that are no longer being used, this little nugget of shame came out.

From The New York Post:
New data from the National Institutes of Health reveal the agency and its scientists collected $710 million in royalties during the pandemic, from late 2021 through 2023. These are payments made by private companies, like pharmaceuticals, to license medical innovations from government scientists.

Almost all that cash — $690 million — went to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, the subagency led by Dr. Anthony Fauci, and 260 of its scientists.

So… did Fauci push COVID vaccines because they “saved lives” or because he was getting hundreds of millions of dollars from the companies pumping them out? The government made it seem like you would either get one of the untested vaccines or die. That was thanks to Fauci, who aggressively supported Biden’s unconstitutional vaccine mandates (that threatened to take away 100 million Americans’ jobs).

Americans were shocked when a New York jury convicted Donald Trump. The case was brought by Democrat prosecutors who vowed long before to defeat Trump. Many critics tore the charges and trial to shreds, pointing out many problems with the entire process.

It seems the verdict has backfired on Democrats, as Trump continues to see his popularity rise. But Democrats are pushing three more criminal trials against Trump.

You’d have to be a hardened Democrat to not think these are politically motivated. And one top Republican lawmaker is seeking to make this kind of political persecution a thing of the past. He just proposed a move that could shut down Democrats for good.

From The Daily Wire:
On Monday, House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) submitted a plan to defund the prosecutors who are taking on Donald Trump in court battles that the former president — who is seeking re-election — and his allies claim are politically motivated.

The proposals, which appear in Jordan’s latest budget request to House Appropriations Chairman Tom Cole (R-OK) for the fiscal year 2025, do not mention particular cases or any prosecutors by name, but they do describe situations that match the criminal matters involving Trump on the state and federal levels. The Judiciary Committee GOP confirmed on X that Trump prosecutors are the focus.

Last year, a Democrat prosecutor out of Georgia hit Trump and many others with criminal charges. The indictment was yet another Democrat piling onto Trump, in what appeared to be a naked attempt at preventing him from winning the upcoming election.

But DA Fani Willis hit a few snags of her own. It came out that she hired her romantic partner, Nathan Wade, for the case. She paid him more than the experts working on the investigation, and she and he likely used that money on vacations.

Trump’s defense has demanded Willis face justice for these possible violations of rules and ethics. Willis has remained defiant, even using the race card to try to get out of trouble. But now, an appeals court has made its decision, throwing a major wrench into the Democrats’ plans.

From The Post Millennial:
A Georgia appeals court has set an October hearing to determine whether Fulton County DA Fani Willis may stay on the RICO case she brought against President Donald Trump and 18 other co-defendants…

A challenge was brought to her remaining on the case due to revelations that she had an affair with one of the attorneys she brought onto the case. There were additional allegations of financial impropriety…

Democrats have engaged in what some are calling “lawfare” against Donald Trump. They have launched several criminal trials in various districts, hoping, it seems, to stop him from becoming president. One of the trials is over, resulting in a guilty verdict.

Another case is in Florida, where a federal prosecutor is trying to pin Trump for the documents he kept at Mar-A-Lago.

The big problem for the left? The prosecutor, Special Counsel Jack Smith, has been outed for “manipulating evidence.” The judge presiding has postponed the case until the election to sort through these accusations. Now, it has come to light that Democrats plotted to get this judge removed to speed up the case.

From Breitbart:
NBC and MSNBC legal analyst Glenn Kirschner has been revealed as the origin of an “orchestrated campaign” to file complaints against Judge Aileen Cannon, who is presiding over former President Donald Trump’s case in Florida…

The left has reacted angrily against the Trump-appointed judge, furious that she has postponed the case until after the November 2024 election. As the National Review has noted, an appellate judge rejected complaints against Cannon, finding that they appeared to be the result of a deliberate and “orchestrated” campaign to remove her.

“President Biden, will you be serving your full four-year term or handing over power to Vice President Harris?” a reporter shouted as Biden met with supporters on a runway in Philadelphia.

“Are you okay? Are you alright?” Biden replied, according to a clip posted by C-SPAN. “You’re not hurt are you? I said are you okay? Did you fall on your head or something?”

On June 5, 1967, Israel invaded and occupied Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem during a war with Arab countries who were trying to dislodge it from the Palestinian land it occupied during the Nakba in 1948.

In the 76 years since the Nakba, Israel’s control over the Palestinian people has affected every aspect of life, from services they can access and where they can travel, to what resources they can use and where on their own land they can build homes.

In this illustrated guide, Al Jazeera takes you through some of the daily struggles under Israeli occupation.

For a fleeting moment on May 22 the world may have come closer to a catastrophic nuclear accident due to a reckless Ukrainian drone attack on two Russian strategic nuclear early warning radars at Armavir.

Fortunately, a subsequent Ukranian drone attack on a third radar station at Orsk in Russia on May 26 failed.

The incidents underscore a few important things. First, the Ukrainians could have needlessly sparked a crisis in which the Russians, feeling like one of their defenses against a U.S. nuclear attack, were down, struck back hard in retaliation. And second, it highlights the need for Russians to acquire comprehensive space-based nuclear radar of their own.

It is less than two weeks since residents held an emergency town hall to demand action on teen gangs running riot in a neighborhood where assaults have jumped 12 percent in the last year.

'We moved over here thinking it would be quieter,' said Streeterville resident Mark Wolfe.

'Now we have we have what my wife and I refer to as the 'Saturday night scaries' because of the kids that come in and just cause havoc.'

'Everything happened from behind us,' the latest victim said.

'First someone approached him and hit his head, punched him in the head, and he looked back and he looked at me and told me 'run'.

'Another lady came to me and dragged me with my hair on the ground.

'I started screaming she started pepper-spraying me right in the face, in the eyes.

'Another person starts stomping all over me, and my husband ran towards me to save me and over 10 people held him.'

'We were just trying to go home to our kid, 'leave us alone, why are you doing this to us?'

In the latest harbinger of Ukraine's inevitable defeat, combat commanders say newly-mobilized soldiers are arriving at the front lines so poorly-trained and clueless that they can't even disassemble their weapons, according to the Washington Post

One soldier described his basic training as "complete nonsense...everything is learned on the spot [at the front lines]." An officer who'd trained recruits said their rifle training was limited to just 20 rounds per soldier.

In most armies, that would barely be considered "familiarization fire." Consider that, as of 2018, the US Army's basic combat training called for shooting 600 rounds in a 92-hour curriculum. Rifle ammo isn't the only limiting factor: The Ukrainian officer also noted that that “there are no grenades for throwing in training centers, and there are no grenade launcher rounds in the training center.”

A senior GOP senator ripped Joe Biden as untrustworthy after he repeatedly peddled a strange story about his uncle getting consumed by cannibals in South East Asia

The tall tale, which the president has told repeatedly, has been directly refuted by a Pentagon report.

Biden claims his uncle, Ambrose Finnegan - known to the family as 'Uncle Bosie' - was in a plane that was shot down over Papa New Guinea during his service in WWII - and that his dear relative was later eaten by local cannibals

And at the conclusion of a Republican press event bashing Biden's new asylum executive order, Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, got caught on a hot mic poking fun of Biden's strange cannibal story.

She told Senator John Kennedy: 'Bottom line, never trust a man whose uncle was eaten by cannibals.'

American schools are being radically redesigned to prevent mass shootings and slow down gunmen if they get inside.

Doors are magnet locked with the push of a phone key, every window and door has a bullet-resistant glass film, and panic buttons are everywhere.

Once straight-lined hallways are curved to reduce a shooter's line of sight and 'wing walls' just out from the side to provide cover for police and students.

These hallways are made of thick concrete blocks so a gunman can't fire through them into classrooms, as happened in some school shootings.

The controversy arose when Ukrainian tank crews voiced concerns about the effectiveness of the Abrams tanks in their conflict, citing issues such as armor inadequacy and engine malfunctions. Ukrainian officials claimed that these tanks were not suited to the terrain and conditions they faced, with crew members specifically highlighting problems with armor, engine reliability, and electronic vulnerabilities due to condensation caused by rain or fog. They also reported instances where targets remained intact despite multiple shots, raising doubts about the tanks' combat effectiveness. Additionally, the Abrams tank is a top priority for Russian forces aiming to destroy US equipment, further exposing the crew.

However, retired Lieutenant General Mark Hertling strongly refuted these claims in an interview with CNN. When asked about the supposed underperformance of the Abrams tanks and their suitability for Ukrainian terrain, Hertling bluntly responded, "I would say in one word 'BS.'" Having served for three decades in Europe, Hertling emphasized that the Abrams tanks were designed for NATO environments and dismissed the reported issues as exaggerated or unfounded. He argued that the complaints about condensation, armor, and obstacle clearance were "nonsense," attributing any perceived shortcomings to crew errors in selecting and maintaining the appropriate weapon systems.

The U.N. human rights office called on Tuesday for an end to violence in which it said Israeli security forces and Jewish settlers have killed more than 500 Palestinians in the West Bank since the start of the Israel-Hamas war in Gaza.

It said in a statement that Israel had used "unnecessary and disproportionate" force in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, and condemned what it said was the systematic denial of medical aid.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the U.N. statement.

Israel's diplomatic mission in Geneva said its actions in the West Bank were in response to what it described as a drastic increase in attacks.

"Israel will continue to operate against Palestinian terrorism, from wherever it emanates, in line with international law, to protect and defend our population," it said.

Violence has surged in the West Bank since the Hamas-led attack on Israel on Oct.7 last year that triggered Israel's military offensive in the Gaza Strip, which the Gaza health ministry says has killed more than 36,000 Palestinians.

The US and its allies are nearing agreement on plans to provide Ukraine with a multibillion-dollar loan which would be linked to profits accrued from frozen Russian sovereign assets, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has said.

The proposal comes as Washington and its G7 allies – the UK, Canada, France, Italy, and Japan – are seeking ways to urgently unlock more funding for Kiev, Yellen told the Senate Appropriations Committee on Tuesday.

According to Yellen, the US has been discussing with other G7 members the possibility of giving Ukraine a loan “allowing the windfall profits [from Russian assets] to be used” to pay it off. This approach, she said, “seems to be commanding considerable support.”

The flow of windfall profits earned on the immobilized Russian assets amounts to around $3-$5 billion per year, the treasury secretary said.

Organizers for the GOP national convention next month in Milwaukee are preparing for the possibility that former President Donald Trump will be in jail when he receives the party’s nomination, according to Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Michael Whatley.

Judge Juan Merchan has scheduled sentencing for the middle of July — four days before the start of the Republican convention — after a jury returned a guilty verdict on all counts last week in Trump’s hush-money trial in New York.

Whatley told Newsmax on Tuesday that RNC officials “expect” Trump to be in Milwaukee to accept the nomination, but are “working on” a plan for if he is in jail. “We will make whatever contingency planning we need to make for it. But the fact is, he is going to be our nominee and he is going to be the 47th president of the United States,” Whatley added.

There is a vast difference between “not winning” and “losing” a war. In the case of Ukraine, “not winning” means that President Zelensky and his handlers in Washington choose to pursue a negotiated settlement that would allow Russia to keep the territory it captured during the war while addressing Moscow’s modest security demands. (Note—Ukraine must reject any intention of joining NATO)

On the other hand, “losing” the war means that the US and NATO continue on the same path they are today—pumping lethal weapons, trainers and long-range missiles systems into Ukraine—hoping that the Russian offensive is progressively weakened so Ukraine can prevail on the battlefield. This alternate path—which amounts to ‘wishful thinking’—is the path to “losing” the war.

Unlike the “not winning” the war scenario, “losing” the war will have a catastrophic effect on the United States and its future. It would mean that Washington had been unable to prevent a Russian military incursion into Europe which is NATO’s primary raison d’etre. It would challenge the idea that the US is capable of acting as the guarantor of regional security which is the role the US has enjoyed since the end of WW2. The perception of a US defeat at the hands of Russia would unavoidably trigger a re-evaluation of current security relations leading to the dissolution of NATO and, very possibly, the EU as well. Simply put, losing the war would be a disaster. Here’s how Colonel Daniel Davis summed it up just last week:

“We can’t let Russia win.”

The level of Russia’s weapons and ammunition production since the start of the conflict with Ukraine has surpassed NATO’s expectations, the secretary general of the US-led military bloc has acknowledged.

Speaking to Sky News on Monday, Jens Stoltenberg was asked to comment on a study released last month by the consulting firm Bain & Company, which revealed that Moscow was generating artillery shells at more than three times the rate of all NATO members combined.

“It’s correct that Russia has been able to build up their defense industry faster than we expected, and it’s correct that NATO allies have spent more time than they should in ramping up our production,” Stoltenberg replied.

At a meeting this week with European Union (EU) foreign ministers, Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó revealed that the next phase of the war in Ukraine will probably involve forcibly drafting European youth from well outside the battle zone to fight Russia.

According to Szijjártó, an exceptionally high number of casualties coupled with troubles in Ukraine recruiting or even finding more bodies to shovel into the war machine means that the globalists now want other European countries to step up to the plate to sacrifice their youth as well.

“Ukrainian casualties are becoming more and more unbearable, Ukrainian men are not being allowed out of Ukraine, and now they want to conscript European youth into the war,” Szijjártó is quoted as saying in a statement to the press. “And obviously, as the escalation hits this neighborhood first, one can almost clearly hear the argument that the soldiers should be sent from the geographical proximity first.”

“All this means that they want to send Central European youth, including Hungarian youth, to the war with mandatory European conscription.”

At a moment it is increasingly clear that there's no off-ramp for the Ukraine proxy war on the horizon in the foreseeable future, European governments have been ramping up their defense readiness amid fears of a future direct clash with Russia.

While the United Kingdom's military leadership has been vocal of late about raising up a 'citizen army' - other countries have been mulling the activation of more of their armed forces - even Germany, which has historically (pre-Ukraine war) maintained very low defense spending and neutrality.

But days ago the chair of the German parliament's defense committee, Marie-Agnes Strack-Zimmermann, issued a public plea for the government to activate 900,000 German reservists, citing the need to do so based on the 'Russian threat' to Europe, according to DPA news agency.
