Japan will start considering Covid as being equivalent to the seasonal flu — a sign of the attitude shift toward the pandemic.
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida announced on Friday that Covid would be reclassified to disease category five from the current level two.
In practical terms, it ditches a recommendation to wear masks in indoor public spaces and ends the need for infected people and close contacts to self-isolate
But symbolically, it shows how major countries are finally learning to live with Covid rather than treating it like an immediate public health emergency.
The new classification in Japan – which will kick in in Spring – recommends patients only to wear masks indoors if symptomatic – as opposed to the general recommendation for everyone currently in place.
Too many receive taxpayer-funded help when they get here, from free shelter to free plane tickets. But it’s not just various levels of government that facilitate the invasion. Faith-based “charities” play a key role. The GOP/GAP must use its control of the House of Representatives to investigate these charities, strip them of their (substantial) government funding, and end their aid to the migrant invasion.
Jessica Bradshaw found out that her 15-year-old identified as transgender at school after she glimpsed a homework assignment with an unfamiliar name scrawled at the top.
When she asked about the name, the teenager acknowledged that, at his request, teachers and administrators at his high school in Southern California had for six months been letting him use the boy’s bathroom and calling him by male pronouns.
Mrs. Bradshaw was confused: Didn’t the school need her permission, or at least need to tell her?
It did not, a counselor later explained, because the student did not want his parents to know. District and state policies instructed the school to respect his wishes.
“There was never any word from anyone to let us know that on paper, and in the classroom, our daughter was our son,” Mrs. Bradshaw said.
The Culture Ministry said it had closed the country’s most famous tourist attraction as well as the Inca Trail leading up to the site “to protect the safety of tourists and the population in general.”
There are 417 tourists stuck at Machu Picchu who can’t get out, more than 300 of whom are foreigners, Luis Fernando Helguero, the tourism minister, said at a news conference.
The closure of the Incan citadel that dates back to the 15th century and is often referred to as one of the new seven wonders of the world comes as protesters have descended on the capital, Lima, largely from remote Andean regions, to demand the resignation of President Dina Boluarte.
Police raided Peru’s most important public university in Lima on Saturday to evict protesters from far-away provinces who were being housed at the campus while participating in big demonstrations that began in the capital Thursday.
I have said this for a long time. The global elite hate you, they want to destroy your standard of living, and reduce you to a serf, a powerless and dispensable carbon emitter.
Freeland is safe behind a podium at the WEF. There are thousands of Swiss soldiers outside making sure outraged plebs don’t storm the castle.
This “honorable” woman (government sociopaths are always honorable), a fixture of the state, is on her tenth careerist term as deputy prime minister of Canada and “serves” as the minister of finance.
As minister of finance, there is no doubt she understands what a “pay cut” will do to the middle class.
Freeland obviously considers the American middle class useless and non-productive (unlike the factory slaves in China). Sure, their grandparents built America and toiled in factories and offices. However, Freeland and the neoliberal cartel believe it is high time to dismantle America and starve out those left in the wake of offshoring and the financial swindles that have further enriched the billionaire caste, a massive transfer (theft) of wealth that is slowly destroying the middle class.
Klaus Schwab, a student of war criminal Henry Kissinger, is a mentor to power-hungry and narcissistic sociopaths. The WEF “Great Reset” is designed to turn the world into an impoverished social concentration camp, where destitute serfs “own nothing” and this, in true Orwellian fashion, will set them free.
It’s not mentioned that the Schwab control freak system will shut down any opposition to unelected WEF apparatchiks. If you rent everything—your home, car, food, computer, etc.—that rental “privilege” can be taken away.
When the United States involves itself militarily in a conflict, it often finds it hard to get itself out, let alone avoid deep entanglements that blow well past lines it had drawn at the start of the intervention.
It happened in Vietnam, when U.S. military advisers helping the South Vietnamese fight Viet Cong eventually became U.S. soldiers fighting an American war. It happened in Afghanistan, when an initial invasion to capture al-Qaida and overthrow the Taliban morphed into a nearly two-decade-long nation-building project. And it could be happening right now in Ukraine.
Little by little, NATO and the United States are creeping closer to the catastrophic scenario President Joe Biden said “we must strive to prevent” — direct conflict between the United States and Russia. Despite stressing at the start of the war that “our forces are not and will not be engaged in the conflict,” current and former intelligence officials told the Intercept back in October that “there is a much larger presence of both CIA and US special operations personnel” in Ukraine than there was when Russia invaded, conducting “clandestine American operations” in the country that “are now far more extensive.”
The German foreign intelligence service assesses that Kiev is losing a "three-digit number" of soldiers daily, according to a report in Der Spiegel. Berlin informed politicians of the assessment during a secret meeting this week.
Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service (BND) is "alarmed" by the high number of losses Ukraine is suffering. The report says Berlin believes Ukraine was losing a three-digit number of soldiers every day during the battle of Bakhmut with Russian forces. The BND informed German politicians of the high number of injured and killed Ukrainian forces during a covert Bundestag meeting last week.
The BND believes the Ukrainian casualties will have severe consequences during future battles. The German intelligence service also believes that Russia is suffering high casualties and using its soldiers as "cannon fodder."
Back on December 31st, we'd reported in this story on ANP that according to 'COVID vax injury and death analyst' Ed Dowd, something horrible was going on in America and all around the world, with Dowd also warning of the globalist media mafia: "The longer they ignore it, the more criminal it is."
With Dowd having warned in an interview back then with Mike Adams of Natural News that the numbers were showing him that every day, approx. 7,500 Americans were being disabled or killed by the 'jabs,' the large majority of them 'working Americans' who were rendered unable to work following their injuries, Adams warned in that video we were watching the 'decivilization' of America unfolding before our eyes, but most were still far too blind to see it.
And with the three weeks following that story still not showing the mainstream media, politicians or 'medical establishment' coming clean to the American people on just how many people are being maimed or killed by those jabs, with a recent twitter announcement by the CDC that "It’s not too late to get vaccinated. You can get the #mpox vaccine at the same time as your #flu and #COVID vaccines," we wonder if the CDC reads the replies to their tweets for if they did, they'd see that by and large in 2023, the American people no longer trust a word they say.
With the CDC also encouraging us to "talk to our 'vaccinator' about what is right for you," if those 'vaccinators' weren't being heavily compensated by the likes of Pfizer and Moderna, do you think they'd actually be warning young and healthy Americans that the jabs could drop them dead suddenly while they're out on the playing field, "playing," or kill them off while they're sleeping, like is happening to so many? The replies on twitter to the CDC's tweet were priceless and including the following gems.:
John Garrett - Replying to @CDCgov: There is no statute of limitations on crimes against humanity. Remember that.
The revelation that President Biden had stacks of classified documents stashed in his garage — alongside jugs of anti-freeze and piles of cleaning rags — comes as little surprise. For several years I have been working on a new book, “SpyFail,” that examines the collapse of the country’s counterintelligence and security operations. And by far, no administration has had a more disastrous record than those of Barack Obama and Biden. For years, insiders at the hyper-secret National Security Agency were able to walk out the door with more than half a billion pages of documents classified higher than top secret, some dealing with nuclear weapons and many of which ended up in Russia. And that was after the supposed crackdown following the million or so documents removed by NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, also on Obama and Biden’s watch.
College math a ‘white, cisheteropatriarchal space,’ Vanderbilt professor says at major conference
An education professor delivered a lecture in early January at a major mathematician meeting that described college math as “white” and “cisheteropatriarchal.”
“Undergraduate Mathematics Education as a White, Cisheteropatriarchal Space and Opportunities for Structural Disruption to Advance Queer of Color Justice” was the full title of the lecture given by Luis Leyva, associate professor of mathematics education at the Peabody College of Education and Human Development at Vanderbilt University.
Leyva delivered the lecture Jan. 4 in Boston at the Joint Mathematics Meetings 2023. The summit is the “largest mathematics gathering in the world,” according to its website.
“Cisheteropatriarchal” is a term in ethnic studies referring to “a system of male, straight, conforming-to-assigned sex system power,” teacher and curriculum designer R. Tolteka Cuauhtin told the Los Angeles Times in a 2019 article.
POLL: 63% of college students feel intimidated sharing their opinions on campus
The William F. Buckley, Jr. Program at Yale University has released the data for its eighth annual college student survey. The poll focused on questions regarding free speech, hate speech, and the validity of the U.S. Constitution.
According to the survey, 63% of the 803 U.S. college students interviewed admitted to feeling intimidated to share opinions, beliefs, or values that differed from those of their peers.
Similarly, 58% of respondents revealed that they felt “intimidated in sharing an opinion that was different than a professor’s,” an 8% increase from the previous year.
The survey results accorded with the growing hostility towards free speech that has been trending at schools all over the nation in recent years. As Campus Reformreported last year, some colleges have even gone as far as installing warning signs that read, “Attention, free speech being exercised ahead.”
Last October, reports emerged that during an Israeli military operation in Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, ground forces were supported by combat helicopters and armed drones, although the equipment was not used offensively.
While commentators have speculated as to whether this indicates that Israel could start using armed drones extensively in the occupied West Bank, as it does in the besieged Gaza Strip, an understanding of Israel’s mathematical formula for killing Palestinians suggests the chances of this are low.
The deadliest math is in Gaza, where Israel does not care to count the corpses of the Palestinians who die in its attacks. This indifference is evident in the large numbers of civilians killed, including families slaughtered in whole or in part, and in the extensive destruction of residences, hospitals, health clinics, schools, mosques, and road and power infrastructure, causing great suffering to those who remain alive.
It’s hard to shake the sense that Joe Biden’s classified document scandal, like Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago saga, is a lot of hype. Trump’s “crime” turned out to be a lot more trivial than the breathless whispers and leaks suggested. It turns out Trump was keeping presidential records as personal trophies, which is just about the least surprising thing ever. It’s unclear what Biden was doing with White House papers in his house, but unless there was some malicious or pecuniary interest, is it really such a big deal?
Many have speculated that there is something more going on, that Democrats are taking Biden out, like yesterday’s trash.
More than 130,000 demonstrators came out Saturday to protest the new government’s plans to weaken Israel’s court system. The vast majority of the protesters, 120,000, were in Tel Aviv, while thousands of others participated in protests in Jerusalem, Haifa and Be’er Sheva.
Some 110,000 protesters participated in the main protest, centered on Tel Aviv’s Kaplan Street, while another 10,000 protesters attended a parallel event at nearby Habima Square. There were 4,000 at the protest in Jerusalem and 6,000 protesters in Haifa. Several hundred also protested in Be’er Sheva.
American lawmakers on Sunday pushed the U.S. government to export M1 Abrams main battle tanks to Ukraine, saying that even sending a symbolic number to Kyiv would be enough to push European allies to do the same.
Michael McCaul, the newly installed Republican chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, told ABC's "This Week" that "just one" Abrams tank would be enough to prompt allies, notably Germany, to unlock their own tank inventories for the fight against Russia.
"Even saying that we're going to put Abrams tanks in would be enough," he said.
Ukrainian officials have been calling on Western allies for months to supply them with modern tanks as the country fights against a full-scale Russian invasion.
France will boost military spending by more than one-third in the coming years, President Emmanuel Macron said, as he unveiled ambitions to transform the French army to deal with the great “perils” of this century.
Acknowledging the end of the “peace dividend” of the post-Cold War era, Macron said on Friday the planned 2024-2030 budget would adapt the military to the possibility of high-intensity conflicts, made all the more urgent since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine almost 11 months ago.
The long-awaited Navy study to determine the future makeup of the U.S. amphibious warship fleet has finally made it to Congress, but don’t hold your breath for the results: they’re classified.
The Navy sent the Amphibious Force Requirements Study to the Congressional defense committees on Dec. 28, Lt. Gabrielle Dimaapi, a spokeswoman for the Navy secretary, said in an email statement Friday to Defense One.
The study was “closely coordinated with the Office of the Secretary of Defense Cost Analysis and Program Evaluation and Office of Management and Budget prior to providing it to Congress,” Dimaapi said. It “assessed the risk associated with the size and composition of the future amphibious warship fleet. It focused on both traditional and planned amphibious warships and platforms.”
Though the service “is not planning to release an unclassified summary of the report,” the results “will be incorporated into an ongoing battle force ship assessment that will be published later this year,” she said.
China expects to add 70 gigawatts (GW) of coal-fired power generation this year, up from 40 GW of capacity from coal installed in 2022, a report from the power sector’s group, China Electricity Council, showed.
The coal additions, however, will not be the biggest capacity increases in China in 2023, per the report quoted by Bloomberg.
Solar and wind will see massive growth in capacity additions this year, too, with solar power expected to add a huge 100 GW of capacity and wind—another 65 GW, China Electricity Council said.
China’s electricity generation capacity from renewable sources is expected to jump above 50% for the first time this year. According to the power sector’s lobbying group, low-carbon electricity sources will account for over 52% of total power capacity in China by the end of 2023, up from 49.6% at the end of last year.
President Joe Biden's personal attorney revealed that yet another batch of documents with classified markings were found in the Democrat's Wilmington, Delaware home on Saturday.
It reportedly brings the total to some 25 to 30 pages found, as questions mount over why Biden had them and why the White House took months to disclose their existence.
Meanwhile the president's critics have also lashed out at him for openly mocking his predecessor Donald Trump's ongoing debacle with his own classified documents - which resulted in an FBI raid on his Florida mansion in August.
I appeared on the Tony Katz Show on January 20, to talk about the failed attempt by the U.S. Supreme Court to identify the person or persons who leaked an early draft of the decision in the Dobbs abortion case. As you recall, that leak put conservative Justices directly in harms way.
The investigation seemed a mess based on what was publicly known:
In early May 2022, after someone leaked an early draft of a majority opinion authored by Justice Alito in the Dobbs case, detailing the eventual overruling of Roe v. Wade, a fury of threats and violence was unleashed toward the conservative Justices, including a gunman who got within steps of Justice Kavanaugh’s front door and aggressive and likely illegal protests outside conservative Supreme Court Justices’ homes. Democrat leaders like Elizabeth Warren incited the mobs, and the White House refused to condemn the home protests.
Chief Justice John Robert’s appointed the Supreme Court Marshal to investigate. There were hints that the FBI or other experienced investigative agency were helping, but no details of that help have been released. So the investigation appears to be under the control of people who were not professional investigators. Not good.
On December 23, it was announced Facebook’s parent company Meta would pay $725 million to U.S.-based users whose personal information was harvested by Cambridge Analytica, the largest ever data privacy class action settlement in history.
The development represents the culmination of a global scandal that erupted in the initial months of 2017, led to official investigations into Cambridge Analytica and Facebook in multiple countries, triggered widespread public debates about online privacy and the malign influence of behavioral advertising and microtargeting in the democratic process, precipitated the abrupt collapse of the company and its parent, Strategic Communication Laboratories (SCL) Group, and dominated mainstream headlines for years.
Yet, for all the relentless coverage and hype over so long, there is a dimension to the farrago that has never previously been explored. Now, it must be. MintPress can reveal a secret British intelligence network fed top journalists — and the world — lies and misinformation about the Cambridge Analytica scandal, distorting perceptions, misdirecting attention and public anger, amping up tensions with Russia, and paving the way for World War Three.
With Ukrainian troops en route to the United States for training on the Patriot missile system, Washington is now sending some of its most sophisticated weapons to bolster Ukraine's already extensive air defense network. Sending Patriot missile systems to Ukraine might seem useful, given repeated Russian drone and missile attacks on civilian areas, but the solution doesn't fit the problem.
The truth is Patriot systems are as likely to stop the drone threat as a water balloon is to stop a forest fire. The mismatch is too great. And Washington's persistence despite that reality is a blunder that will prove costly.
Air defenses rely on radars that scan for threats in a specific area. For Patriot systems, these areas are small and meant to be pinpoint locations like a military base or power plant. A single Patriot system would not alter the inherent vulnerability that Ukraine experiences in the air, given its vast front of fighting against Russian troops. It might protect a few nodes that Kyiv prizes, but Russian air attacks can counter these missile systems.
