Powerful Democratic billionaire donor Michael Bloomberg on Monday ratcheted up the pressure on President Biden over the migrant crisis — skewering him for turning a blind eye to the US’s broken border laws.
Bloomberg — while heaping praise on New York City Mayor Eric Adams for doing an “admirable job” trying to cope with the lack of federal support over the debacle — raged in a column that the White House will be responsible for sweeping Democratic losses up and down the ticket in 2024 if the Biden administration doesn’t wake up.
“Think about it: We have a system that essentially allows an unlimited number of people to cross our borders, forbids them from working, offers them free housing, and grants them seven years of residency before ruling on whether they can legally stay,” the news tech titan-turned philanthropist and former Big Apple mayor, 81, wrote in the New York Times.
“It would be hard to devise a more backward and self-defeating system,” Bloomberg said.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has warned that people who refuse to accept the WEF’s new digital ID scheme will be excluded from participating in society.
During an appearance at a G20 Summit session, dubbed “One Future,” Von der Leyen declared our collective future to be digital, governed by globalist organizations such as the WEF.
Summit.news reports: Von der Leyen, in her position as the EU Commission President, touched on AI and the digital landscape in her address. She acknowledged the potential dangers and gargantuan opportunities linked with advancing AI technology and emphasized the importance of channeling such explosive technology.
Many analysts and commentators have been speculating about how the US and NATO will find their way to an endgame in the Ukraine conflict. Some focus, for humanitarian or pragmatic reasons, on a negotiated settlement between the US and Russia. Even though as a matter of form Ukraine would be party to such a deal, with Ukraine now fully dependent on Western arms and funding, there’s no pretending who is really driving this train.
We described earlier how the various factions in the US/NATO side would spend huge amounts of time arguing among themselves to come up with ideas for how exit the conflict that they’d developed in a vacuum, with no substantive exchange with Russia and not even any real consideration of repeated statements by Russian officials, including draft treaties presented in December 2021 and in the aborted peace talks in Marcy 2022.
The new peace chatter seems to amount to:
Ceasefire > *Magic* > Russia goes away with its tail enough between its legs that we and Ukraine can declare victory
At first we thought this dynamic was the result of splits among various key parties. After all, multiparty negotiations are messy.
But upon further reflection, it may be that the West has effectively set boundary conditions for itself that make ending the war impossible... absent changes in leaders of key governments that result in a willingness to relax boundary conditions and/or such a visible collapse of Ukraine’s military that the West has to rethink its self-imposed constraints.
Earlier this year, we discussed the 'big profitability squeeze' on auto dealerships and the subsequent failure of a subprime dealership with dozens of locations. Now, another dealership has failed as cracks across the industry worsen.
A popular used car dealership in South Florida, called "Off Lease Only," filed for Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code in the District of Delaware last Thursday, citing "unprecedented changes to the automotive-retail landscape."
"The industry has been impacted by inventory scarcity, and vehicle price inflation stemming from supply chain disruptions and multi-year declines in new vehicle production," the company wrote in a press release.
The company also blamed elevated used car prices and soaring interest rates that "further deteriorated conditions in the automotive retail market, weakening consumer demand and affordability."
Off Lease Only's demise was due to collapsing demand after used car interest rates skyrocketed while used car prices remained elevated, sparking an affordability crisis.
Tech entrepreneur and California resident Elon Musk criticized an assembly bill in the state, calling the proposed law to require that parents affirm their child's transgender identify for custody rights "a wolf in sheep’s clothing."
Mr. Musk's comment came as the Democratic-majority State Assembly approved the legislation on Sept. 8, sending it to Gov. Gavin Newsom's desk.
The bill, AB 957, incorporates parents' "affirmation of the child’s gender identity or gender expression" into the concept of a child's "health, safety, and welfare." If passed, the bill will require a judge to consider whether a parent affirms a child's ideas about gender transition when determining custody or visitation rights.
"This bill is a wolf in sheep’s clothing," Mr. Musk wrote on Friday on X, formerly called Twitter. "What it would actually mean is that if you disagree with the other parent about sterilizing your child, you lose custody. Utter madness!"
The bill was initially introduced by Assemblywoman Lori Wilson, a Democrat, in February. She previously argued the legislation doesn't prioritize a parent's gender-affirming over other judicial criteria that determine custody disputes.
The billionaire co-founder of Google’s DeepMind artificial intelligence technology, Mustafa Suleyman, has warned the public that AI is being used for genetic engineering to trigger a “super-pandemic.”
Suleyman warns that an AI-developed super-pandemic is one of the biggest threats facing the human race.
He issued the warning in an episode of the “Diary of a CEO” podcast.
According to Suleyman, scientists are scrambling to engineer a deadly pandemic, such as a modified variant of COVID-19, to unleash before the end of this decade.
The warning from Suleyman comes amid increasing fears that another pandemic may trigger widespread lockdowns and mandates ahead of the 2024 election.
Hurricane Lee formed nearly a week ago (read here) and rapidly intensified into a Category 5 (read here) on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale. Lee has since been downgraded to a Cat. 3 with risks of restrengthening into a Cat. 4 this week while it churns toward the northeast Caribbean. New computer models show landfall impacts could be across Maine and the rest of New England.
Lee was located about 340 miles north of the northern Leeward Islands, with maximum sustained winds of 120 mph, according to a 0500 ET update by the National Hurricane Center.
"A slow west-northwestward motion is expected during the next couple of days, followed by a gradual turn toward the north by midweek," NHC said.
Could you imagine the difference if, in the fall of 2020, the Washington Post had accepted a copy of the Hunter Biden hard drive and actually investigated the thousands of emails, photos, text messages, and other evidence that implicated not just Hunter but his father Joe Biden in sundry unethical and criminal enterprises?
What about CBS, NBC, and ABC?
Shouldn’t we as news consumers expect these leviathans “to give the news impartially, without fear or favor, regardless of party, sect, or interests involved,” as the new owner of the New York Times declared way back in 1896?
Yet in October 2020, when the New York Post wrote a series of stories describing the corrupt nature of the Biden family as exposed by the Hunter Biden laptop, there were few mainstream media outlets that dared to follow.
Or really, not dared, but chose. Because there is nothing daring about doing your job correctly.
You would think that when all the major social media companies like Facebook and Twitter blocked any discussion of the New York Post’s reporting on the laptop, these other major news corporations would have come to the aid of the Post.
If any of them had done their own investigation of the laptop, do you think that Twitter could have continued to censor the news under the false claim that it was Russian disinformation? Hardly.
But no mainstream media outlets were willing to put their own reputations on the line to support free speech – because their reputations are based entirely on being guardians of the left, and protecting Hillary, Barack and the Bidens is more important than fidelity to any chimeric sense of fairness and honor.
BlackRock is closing a China-focused offshore fund amid congressional scrutiny over its alleged role in directing U.S. dollars to blacklisted Chinese firms.
In a recent letter to shareholders, BlackRock Global Funds Chairwoman Denise Voss said the world’s largest money manager will close the China Flexible Equity Fund over a “lack of shareholder interest” and the investment cost to keep the fund running, which she noted is “not in the best interests of shareholders.”
BlackRock intends to liquidate all assets under the fund and redeem any outstanding shares by Nov. 7. Existing shareholders have the options to switch their investments into another fund, sell back their shares ahead of the liquidation date, or receive automatic payments for the shares when the fund closes down.
Opened in October 2017, China Flexible Equity Fund had an asset value of about $21.4 million as of late August. It recorded a negative 16.7 percent return in 2021, a number that nearly doubled in 2022, to negative 30.5 percent.
The fund closure came just a month after the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party initiated a probe into BlackRock and investment index provider MSCI regarding the alleged investments in Chinese companies the U.S. government has deemed problematic.
The FDA approved two new seasonal COVID-19 shots today, on September 11, 2023. (Source.)
The companies that were awarded this approval of seasonal COVID-19 shots by the FDA, were the two companies who were authorized to inject hundreds of millions of Americans with experimental emergency-use authorized COVID-19 shots starting in December of 2020, Pfizer and Moderna, who will go down in history as maiming and killing over 3X more people with their experimental injections than all previous FDA-approved vaccines for the past 30+ years COMBINED, according to the U.S. Government’s own statistics in their Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS) database.
30+ years of FDA approved vaccines: 946,791 cases of adverse events with 10,408 deaths. (Source.)
2+ years of emergency authorized COVID-19 “vaccines”: 1,591,249 cases of adverse events with 36,135 deaths. (Source.)
There will be a potential windfall in profits for Big Pharma and the medical system after today, as there are now TWO seasonal vaccines that are approved to be injected into the arms of every American, as COVID-19 shots join the annual influenza vaccines.
This is in spite of the fact that the “seasonal flu” all but disappeared when COVID started. See:
“The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary.”—H.L. Mencken
First came 9/11, which the government used to transform itself into a police state.
Then the COVID-19 pandemic hit, which the police state used to test out its lockdown powers.
In light of the government’s tendency to exploit crises (legitimate or manufactured) and capitalize on the nation’s heightened emotions, confusion and fear as a means of extending the reach of the police state, one has to wonder what so-called crisis it will declare next.
It’s a simple enough formula: first, you create fear, then you capitalize on it by seizing power.
Frankly, it doesn’t even matter what the nature of the next national emergency might be (terrorism, civil unrest, economic collapse, a health scare, or the environment) as long as it allows the government to lockdown the nation and justify all manner of tyranny in the so-called name of national security.
Cue the Emergency State.
The question ‘Who killed JFK?’ is almost as iconic as the ‘Who Shot JR?’ frenzy that took over pop culture in the ’80s, thanks to the hit show Dallas. But let’s not forget, JFK’s assassination wasn’t scripted TV; it was a grim reality. For years, theories have swirled—some say it was an inside job by the US government who wanted to take out JFK because he was aiming to dismantle the Deep State, while others cling to the narrative of a lone gunman on a grassy knoll. However, the entire framework we’ve been fed about JFK’s murder is falling apart, especially the so-called “magic bullet” theory (more on this below).
For 60 years, this explanation—courtesy of the Warren Commission and the CIA—has been force-fed to us as gospel. Now, even hardcore defenders like the New York Times have to admit it’s a sham, especially in light of new, startling revelations from JFK’s own Secret Service man, Paul Landis. The narrative is shifting, folks, and it’s getting downright impossible for the establishment to sweep it under the rug.

Vice President Kamala Harris this week dismissed complaints that the Biden administration supports legal abortion up until birth as “ridiculous” but refused to name a single regulation of abortion she would support.
During a Sunday appearance on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” hostess Margaret Brennan repeatedly pressed Harris to specify her “pro-choice” stance.
“What week of pregnancy should abortion access be cut off?” Brennan asked.
“We need to restore the protections of Roe v. Wade,” Harris replied. She did not name a week of pregnancy.
“Let me be very clear,” Harris continued:
From day one, the president has been clear, I have been clear. We need to put back the protections that are in Roe v. Wade into law. Since the Supreme Court took it, Congress has the power and ability to pass legislation to put those protections back in law and Joe Biden will sign that bill. So, that is what we want.
NATO Deputy-General Secretary Mircea Geoana said Monday that there was “no risk” NATO member Romania would be dragged into the Russia-Ukraine war after Bucharest said drone fragments were found on Romanian territory.
Russia has been targeting Ukrainian ports on the Danube River, a narrow waterway that acts as a border between Romania and Ukraine. Despite the discovery of drone fragments in Romania, Geoana said there was no indication of an intentional Russian attack on NATO.
“The most important thing is to re-confirm the fact that there is no indication of a deliberate action (by Russia) to strike Romanian territory and therefore NATO territory,” said Geoana, a former Romanian foreign minister.
Last week, after Russia targeted Ukraine’s port of Izmail on the Danube, Ukrainian officials claimed a Russian drone hit Romanian territory. The Romanian Defense Ministry strongly denied the claim, saying Russia’s drone attacks did not “generate direct military threats” against Romania.
Niger’s military has accused France of gathering forces and equipment in several West African countries with a view to launching a “military intervention” against Niamey.
Colonel Amadou Abdramane, a spokesman for Niger’s coup leaders, made the claim on national television late on Saturday.
The July military coup in the west African country of Niger has once again brought attention to the fact that the US government runs a global military empire that serves Washington’s special interests, and not the national interest.
Before the coup made news headlines, most Americans – including many serving in Congress – had no idea the US government maintains more than 1,000 troops stationed on several US bases in Niger. But it’s even worse than that. A recent report in The Intercept suggests the Pentagon repeatedly misled Congress about the extent and the cost of the US presence in Niger.
According to The Intercept, “in testimony before the House and Senate Armed Services Committees in March, the chief of US Africa Command described Air Base 201 (in Niger) as ‘minimal’ and ‘low cost.’” In fact the US government has spent a quarter of a billion dollars on the base since construction began in 2016.
So when did Congress declare war so as to legalize US military operations in Niger? They didn’t. But as Kelley Vlahos writes in Responsible Statecraft, US troops have been “training” the military in Niger since 2013 and the US government has constructed a number of military bases to “fight terrorism” in the country and region.
Trump’s former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows filed an emergency stay in the Georgia RICO case after an Obama judge ruled his case cannot be moved to a federal court.
Judge Steve C. Jones ruled that Mark Meadows’s actions following the election were largely political. Spoken like a true Marxist.
Attorneys for Meadows asked Judge Jones to stay the order pending an appeal. The attorneys were prepared to ask the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals to stay the order.
The judge responded and ordered Georgia prosecutors to respond by Tuesday at 12 noon ET.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy is set to tell Republican lawmakers this week that an impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden is “the logical next step” in the GOP’s probes into his scandal-scarred son.
McCarthy is expected to make the announcement Thursday when House Republicans meet behind closed doors for a scheduled update from House Judiciary Chairman Rep. Jim Jordan, of Ohio, and House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer, of Kentucky, Punchbowl News reported Tuesday.
The two Republicans have been leading investigations into Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings and whether he leveraged his father’s official government positions to secure foreign business deals.
An impeachment inquiry will allow them to obtain the Bidens’ bank records and other documents.
More than two decades after 9/11, with a staggering price tag of $8 trillion and the tragic loss of nearly 5 million lives, the horror of the events and its aftermath continue to haunt. While the overt conflicts of the “Global War on Terror” have receded with the U.S.'s departure from Iraq and Afghanistan, many of today's tensions and political unrest can be directly traced to the forces set in motion during the NATO-led global war.
Anti-terror funding continues to flow with few checks and balances, supercharging security forces and the global military industry. West Africa’s ongoing surge in coups highlight the pitfall of Western aid bolstering military institutions at the expense of civil governance.
In the Global North, anti-terrorism experts, having rebranded themselves as holistic security pundits, advocate a more hawkish confrontational approach toward China and Russia. Similarly, in Central Asia, global networks and organizations have concocted a developmental aid industry not always in line with the needs of people on the ground, but the buzzwords of “terrorism” and “security” are music to international donors’ ears.
Russia has wrapped up widely condemned regional and municipal elections, including in four eastern regions annexed from Ukraine, delivering strong support for President Vladimir Putin.
The week-long polls, which wrapped up on Sunday, took place amid criticism of vote rigging and Ukraine’s push to reclaim its territories.
Dozens of Israeli arms companies are set to take part in London's annual arms fair on Tuesday, an event campaigners have branded "a marketplace in death and destruction".
The Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) takes place at the ExCeL centre in London each year and has repeatedly come in for criticism from anti-arms trade activists. It is scheduled to be held between 12 and 15 September.
Among those attending will be BAE Systems, Lockheed Martin, Boeing and Thales as well as more than 40 Israeli arms companies that have been accused of complicities in human rights abuses carried out against Palestinians.
In a statement on Monday, Campaign Against the Arms Trade (CAAT) said the companies taking part read as a "who's who of the world's worst arms dealers".
"Israel is an apartheid state, and it is disgusting that the UK is not only selling weapons to Israel but encouraging Israeli arms companies to sell their weapons in London," said Emily Apple, CAAT's media coordinator, adding that companies like Elbit "battle test" their weapons on Palestinians in the occupied territories.
The head of the Israeli spy agency Mossad has accused Iran of plotting attacks on the occupying regime’s interests around the world, threatening to assassinate senior Iranian officials as he claims Tel Aviv is prepared to strike “the heart of Tehran.”
David Barnea claimed at an annual conference of the Institute for Counter-Terrorism Policy (ICT) at Reichman University in the Israeli city of Hrezliya, north of Tel Aviv, on Sunday that Mossad had foiled 27 anti-Israel attacks “orchestrated, masterminded and directed by Iran” over the past year.
"The captured squads and the weapons seized alongside them all had specific targets," Barnea said, adding that the attempts occurred “all over the world, in Europe, Africa, the Far East and South America.”
Barnea claimed, "All of this was under Iran's direction and guidance. We are currently working to track Iranian squads to prevent them from harming Jews and Israelis worldwide."
The Mossad chief said Israel would go after the agents involved in the plots as well as the commanders who sent them to carry out the attacks, warning that Israel’s response would go all the way to Iran’s “highest echelon.”
Suddenly Susanna Gibson, a Democrat candidate for the Virginia House of Delegates, is getting shy and claiming she is the victim of a sex crime after screenshots of her extracurricular activities went public. Gibson and her husband often participated in live videos posted on a pornographic website “and asked viewers to pay them money in return for carrying out specific sex acts” reports the Associated Press (AP).
“It won’t intimidate me and it won’t silence me,” said Gibson, who is running in a high-stakes legislative contest in a district just outside of Richmond, Virginia. “My political opponents and their Republican allies have proven they’re willing to commit a sex crime to attack me and my family because there’s no line they won’t cross to silence women when they speak up.”
Gibson said that exposing the videos is “an illegal invasion of my privacy designed to humiliate me and my family.” Gibson’s attorney, Daniel P. Watkins, said that disseminating the videos is a violation of Virginia’s revenge porn law, which makes it a crime to “maliciously” disseminate or sell nude or sexual images of another person with the intent to “coerce, harass, or intimidate.”
“A criminal act has occurred here, and that’s the dissemination of revenge porn by a Republican operative,” Watkins told the AP.
Commemoration events on Monday mark the 22nd anniversary of the 9/11 terror attacks in the United States, with President Joe Biden to address first responders and their families at a military base in Alaska, while Vice President Kamala Harris will visit the National September 11 Memorial and Museum in New York.
As the United States remembers the victims of the deadly 9/11 terrorist attacks that shook the country 22 years ago, it is worth noting that Washington made a “deliberate choice” to "help create" the very extremists who masterminded them, Peter Kuznick, professor of history at the American University, told Sputnik.
“We knew exactly who these people were and what their organizations were like,” said the co-author of the "Untold history of the United States."
"The US did help train, recruit and arm and educate the Islamic extremists who would then blow back against the United States on 9/11," said Peter Kuznick.
If there is one defining characteristic of the average western feminist it is their propensity for turning their personal problems into everyone's problems. Meaning, they have a habit of projecting their insecurities and outrage on the rest of the world, weaponizing their own unhappiness and turning it into an activist movement. If they are miserable, other people are not allowed to feel content; that would be unfair.
It is for this reason that modern feminism is often accused of being an ideological cult for narcissists. Everything about it seems to be designed to elevate and appeal to the worst kinds of people. Not only that, but the belief system is now so pervasive in western countries, especially among the college educated, that 60% of women say they identify and agree with the “common definition” of feminism, even though the common definition does not match the behavior and motives of most feminists.
This percentage changes, of course, depending on the specific tenets related to feminism, but in most polls at least 30% of women in most western countries embrace the majority of third-wave feminist concepts. The number of feminists also spiked dramatically between 2013-2018 (though this momentum has stalled in recent years). The point being, if you are a western man seeking to avoid feminist insanity and find a woman with traditional values your task is becoming incredibly difficult in your home country.
Enter the “Passport Bros”, a movement of men in the west (primarily American men) traveling outside their countries to find wives in foreign places known for more traditional women that defy feminist taboos. The movement has gained exponential traction and attention in the past year as most countries are finally lifting covid restrictions, allowing more men to travel.
Ukrainian troops tried to advance with tanks and armored combat vehicles near the village of Opytnoy, but suffered serious losses, Denis Pushilin, acting head of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR), said on his Telegram account.
"We can see that the enemy has intensified its efforts near Opytnoye with tanks and armored combat vehicles, suffering serious losses, but the fighting goes on, the enemy is trying to improve its positions in that direction. There is an understanding of further steps for our units, there are no serious fears," he said in a video message.
According to Pushilin, there are no significant changes in the Krasny Liman direction. The Ukrainian Armed Forces launched several small attacks in the direction of the Torskoye and Serebrianka, but Russian units repelled them all. The DPR leader added that there are no serious signs of fighting heating up in the area.
In a recent interview Democratic megadonor Haim Saban attacked Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) over his criticisms of Israel.
The billionaire media proprietor told Israeli daily Yediot Aharonot that most congressional Democrats remain very pro-Israel and that only about a dozen stand opposed to the country. He specifically singled out Sanders for scorn calling him “a self-hating Jew” and “an Israel-hater.” “You can quote me on that,” he added.
In the same interview Saban criticized extremist members of the current Israeli government, calling their behavior “inexplicable.” Saban said he hopes that Israeli leadership finds a way to send the Israel-haters [National Security Minister Itamar] Ben-Gvir and [Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel] Smotrich home, and that [National Unity Party leader] Benny Gantz and [Opposition Leader] Yair Lapid will enter the government.”
Saban was also asked about his decision to keep donating to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) despite the lobbying group’s support for numerous Republicans who refused to certify President Joe Biden’s 2020 election victory. “The only goal of this organization is to prevent people who are against US-Israel relations from advancing and to support those who support relations between Jerusalem and Washington… ” he explained. “Many Democrats called me and said ‘are you stupid? you’re a Democrat who supports [Jan 6 Republicans]?’ I always say the same thing: It’s a specific, defined issue, and that is the US-Israel relationship. In that sense, I’m not interested in anything else.”
If one did not know better, they would believe that the Palestinian government places public ads on social media trying to recruit Palestinians to kill Jews. The sheer sound of that sentence sounds sick, as it should.
The reality, of course, is something entirely different.
In fact, it is Israel which has instilled a culture of “Slay-for-Play” to enable its soldiers and private citizens to shoot first and ask questions — if ever needed to — later. As B’Tselem, Israel’s leading human rights organization, previously documented, “[Israel’s] open-fire policy — which allows the unjustified use of lethal force — conveys Israel’s deep disregard for the lives of Palestinians and facilitates Israel’s continued violent control over millions of Palestinians.”
n the annals of modern warfare, few decisions have been as controversial as the use of depleted uranium (DU). This radioactive waste, stemming from the production of enriched uranium for nuclear reactors and weapons, has long been the subject of intense scrutiny and criticism. Today, as the drums of war beat louder in Eastern Europe, a chilling specter from the past reemerges: the US’s intent to ship DU-laden armor-piercing munitions to Ukraine.
A Reuters revelation this week threw the spotlight on the Biden administration’s unnerving decision to dispatch these potent and controversial munitions to Ukraine. This move, while strategically aimed at fortifying Ukraine against Russian tank assaults, casts a long, haunting shadow over US foreign policy and the broader humanitarian consequences of warfare.
To comprehend the magnitude of this decision, one must understand the horrifying legacy of DU in armed conflict. Its extreme density makes it a sought-after component for military projectiles, known for its ability to penetrate thick armor. However, when these munitions strike, they produce a fine dust of radioactive particles that can linger in the environment for millions of years due to DU’s extensive half-life.
This isn’t the first time the US has turned a blind eye to the horrifying repercussions of DU. In the early days of the Iraq conflict in 2003, the US military unloaded over 2,000 tons of this radioactive waste, subjecting the Iraqi populace to its long-term effects. The aftermath is palpable even today: cancer rates in the country have soared, and birth defects are tragically commonplace. Iraqi hospitals, such as those in Basra, report a 60% rise in birth defects post-2003. These figures, coupled with comparisons to the aftermath of atomic bombings in Japan, paint a heart-wrenching scenario.
While the tragedies of Iraq remain fresh, the scars of Syria are still bleeding. A mere six years ago, as TFTP reported in 2017, the US conceded its use of DU in combat against Islamic State militants. This confession, in itself, was a stark contradiction to previous coalition assurances, explicitly stating that DU would not be employed in the Syrian theater.
