Norway is the best country for retirees.
In this year's Global Retirement Index by investment bank Natixis, the Scandinavian country takes first place.
As Statista's Martin Armstrong details, for the ranking, 44 countries worldwide were assessed, according to factors such as health, finances in retirement, quality of life and material wellbeing in old age. An index score was then assigned, with 100 points the best possible result.
U.S. agriculture has been facing a poor harvest this year, aggravating the global food supply crisis, industry executives have said.
The supply of food worldwide has been tight, since Russia’s war in Ukraine cut off vital shipments of resources needed to make fertilizer and grain products from the region.
Several high-level executives from big agricultural firms such as Bayer, Corteva, Archer Daniels Midland, and Bunge, told The Wall Street Journal that it will take at least two more years of good harvests in North and South America to ease the supply pressures.
Former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev said Thursday that strategic nuclear weapons can be used to defend "the Donbass republics and other territories accepted into Russia" and warned the "retired idiots with general's stripes" at NATO that hypersonic missiles can "reach targets in Europe and in the United States."
From Pravda, 'Dmitry Medvedev: 'Hypersonic arms will reach targets in US and EU faster' ":
Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, warned that "hypersound" (hypersonic weapons — ed.) could quickly reach targets both in the US and Europe. In his opinion, all residents of the NATO states should listen to Russia to understand that Russia has chosen its own path.
- The Russian authorities have decided to incorporate the republics of Donbass and "other territories" into the country.
- The new regions will be protected with the help of those mobilized.
- Russia can use any weapon, "including strategic ones," so "no need to intimidate Moscow."
An activist group which has filed a class-action lawsuit against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and other Florida officials over last week's migrant flights to Martha's Vineyard received nearly $1.4 million from George Soros' Open Society Network.
According to Fox News, nonprofit immigrant advocacy group Lawyers for Civil Rights filed the suit on behalf of Alianza Americas, which was described in a press release as "a network of migrant-led organizations supporting immigrants across the United States."
The lawsuit was filed in the District of Massachusetts, and alleges that DeSantis and other officials "designed and executed a premeditated, fraudulent and illegal scheme centered on exploiting this vulnerability for the sole purpose of advancing their own personal, financial and political interests."
According to Open Society Foundation records, Alianza Americas received $1,383,947 between 2016 and 2020 - with grants coming from three Soros nonprofits; Open Society Institute, Open Society Policy Center and Foundation to Promote Open Society.
Americans are set to pay an extra $11,500 this year if they want to enjoy the same standard of living they maintained in 2020, according to new estimates from NerdWallet.
The estimates, published in August, were based on inflation and annual spending data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Analysts at the personal finance company looked at how spending would compare this year to 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic began.
Analysts said 2020 was the “last full year when inflation was relatively stable.” In that year, the U.S. inflation rate was 1.23 percent.
As of August, inflation in the United States stands at 8.3 percent, according to BLS data.
“In all of 2020, American households spent $61,300, on average,” the analysts wrote. “This number includes everything we spend our money on housing, food, entertainment, clothing, transportation, and everything else.
“In 2022, it stands to reach $72,900, a difference of more than $11,500 if consumers want to maintain the same standard of living.”
Three months after US security agencies warned that Chinese-backed hackers had been targeting "major telecommunications companies and network service providers" for over two years, Chinese state media on Thursday accused the National Security Agency (NSA) of infiltrating a government-funded university and gaining access to 'China's telecommunications network,' CNBC reports.
Citing an unnamed source, the Global Times accused the NSA of phishing - a hacking technique which uses malicious links or other methods to trick users into providing access credentials - to gain access to Northwestern Polytechnical University, where they allegedly stole "core technology data including key network equipment configuration, network management data, and core operational data," along with other files.
Russia's war in Ukraine escalated this week when Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a partial mobilization of the country's military and vowed to use "all available means" to deter future attacks against Russia — a reference to the country's diverse nuclear weapons arsenal.
Then Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of Russia's Security Council, provided fresh warnings Thursday on the heels of Putin's nuclear threats that "Hypersound [hypersonic weapons] will be able to reach targets in Europe and in the United States much faster, guaranteed."
Now there's word that Russian state-owned defense corporation Rostec will increase production of Su-57 5th-generation stealth fighter jets.
After correctly predicting the collapse in the yen and yuan all the way back in March (see "The Biggest Story No-One Is Talking About": Why Albert Edwards Expects "Something In The Market Is About To Snap"), SocGen's Albert Edwards had taken a somewhat lengthy sabbatical, reemerging only occasionally to comment on the latest market developments. Which of course meant that all those who were craving his unique style of fire and brimstone were left unsatisfied (especially with Bob Janjuah lost somewhere in the wilderness for the past two years).
Which is why we were delighted to read Albert's latest note in which he goes back to his maximalist (or is that minimalist) roots with a bang, and when mourning the death of that economic ideology that prevented politicians from breaking free from the shackles fiscal austerity, Edwards regards the "super-expansionary monetary policy" with which central bankers filled the economic void, and summarizes the current landscape as follows: "aggressive fiscal activism reigns supreme, most visible currently in the UK. This will bring higher growth, higher inflation, and higher interest rates across the curve."
What does this mean for investors? Well, according to Edwards, for them "the party is over" as is the Ice Age that defined markets according to the SocGen strategist. And as the coming "Great Melt" melts the ‘Ice’ in ‘Ice Age’, it will also "melt investor returns away too."
“It is the function of mass agitation to exploit all the grievances, hopes, aspirations, prejudices, fears, and ideals of all the special groups that make up our society, social, religious, economic, racial, political. Stir them up. Set one against the other. Divide and conquer. That’s the way to soften up a democracy.”
- J. Edgar Hoover, Masters of Deceit
The U.S. government has become a master of deceit.
It’s all documented, too.
This is a government that lies, cheats, steals, spies, kills, maims, enslaves, breaks the laws, overreaches its authority, and abuses its power at almost every turn; treats its citizens like faceless statistics and economic units to be bought, sold, bartered, traded, and tracked; and wages wars for profit, jails its own people for profit, and has no qualms about spreading its reign of terror abroad.
Worse, this is a government that has become almost indistinguishable from the evil it claims to be fighting, whether that evil takes the form of terrorism, torture, drug trafficking, sex trafficking, murder, violence, theft, pornography, scientific experimentations or some other diabolical means of inflicting pain, suffering and servitude on humanity.
With every passing day, it becomes painfully clear that this is not a government that can be trusted with your life, your loved ones, your livelihood or your freedoms.
Forget development. Washington's primary interest in Africa today is keeping the Chinese and Russians out...
In a rational environment, the 77th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) would discuss alleviating the trials and tribulations of the Global South, especially Africa.
That won’t be the case. Like a deer caught in the geopolitical headlights, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres issued platitudes about a gloomy “winter of global discontent,” even as the proverbial imperial doomsayers criticized the UN’s “crisis of faith” and blasted the “unprovoked war” started by Russia.
Of course the slow-motion genocide of Donbass russophone residents for eight years would never be recognized as a provocation.
Guterres spoke of Afghanistan, “where the economy is in ruins and human rights are being trampled” – but he did not dare to offer context. In Libya, “divisions continue to jeopardize the country” – once again, no context. Not to mention Iraq, where “ongoing tensions threaten ongoing stability.”
In the first part of this series, we looked at the United Nation’s (UN’s) Sustainable Development agenda. Contrary to most people’s perception of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this agenda has little to do with environmentalism or reducing CO2 emissions.
Instead, it is a mechanism for introducing global governance and particularly global financial governance into every aspect of our lives and every corner of our society and polity. It enables the continuation of “the same debt imperialism long used by the Anglo-American Empire to entrap nations in a new, equally predatory system of global financial governance.”
Agenda 2030 was first outlined with General Assembly Resolution 70/1 (A/Res/70/1). In October 2015, this Resolution committed the UN to Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
In UN parlance, “sustainability” is misleadingly used as a synonym for transformation. Nothing about the SDGs is as it first appears. The devil is omnipresent in the detail and, as with all SDGs, we should approach SDG 3, which the UN claims will “ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages,” with considerable caution.
They know exactly what they are doing. The “experts” that run the Federal Reserve know that if they dramatically hike interest rates it will cause countless American workers to lose their jobs and it will absolutely crush the housing market. And even though those two things are already starting to happen, they just announced another massive rate hike. If there was a school for central bankers, one of the very first things that they would teach you is that you should never, ever raise rates as an economy is plunging into a recession. Every Fed official knows what has happened in the past when rates have been hiked at the beginning of an economic slowdown, but they are doing it anyway. To call this “economic malpractice” would be a major understatement, and the American people should be deeply alarmed about what they are doing to us.
After everything that has already happened, it is hard to believe that Fed officials would continue to be so reckless. On Wednesday, it was announced that rates would be raised by another 75 basis points…
The pivot comes full circle as domestic terrorists replace Islamic Jihadists. The Biden administration has quietly perpetuated the state of ‘national emergency’ that was initiated after the 9/11 attacks, which were carried out by Islamic terrorists twenty-one years ago this month. On Tuesday, the White House declared the alleged ongoing state of national emergency by referring to the 2001 terror attacks:
The actions of persons who commit, threaten to commit, or support terrorism continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States. For this reason, the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13224 of September 23, 2001, as amended, and the measures adopted to deal with that emergency, must continue in effect beyond September 23, 2022. Therefore, in accordance with section 202(d) of the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1622(d)), I am continuing for 1 year the national emergency with respect to persons who commit, threaten to commit, or support terrorism declared in Executive Order 13224, as amended.
The perpetuation of the national emergency comes amid accusations by rank-and-file FBI agents that the Biden administration is “exaggerating the threat of White supremacists and pressuring agents to cook up domestic terrorist cases involving racist extremists.”
A 2012 article published by Child Health Safety has resurfaced. The article detailed a paper published by a courageous doctor and investigative medical researcher, Lucija Tomljenovic, who dug up the dirt on 30 years of secret official transcripts of meetings of UK government vaccine committees and the supposedly independent medical “experts” sitting on them with their drug industry connections.
Lucija Tomljenovic, PhD, is a research scientist with the Neural Dynamics Research Group, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of British Colombia, Canada. She has extensive experience investigating the safety of vaccine adjuvants.
As Food Freedom News’ Andrew Baker noted in an article the following year, the secret official documents show that government experts have:
- Known the vaccines don’t work.
- Known they cause the diseases they are supposed to prevent.
- Known they are a hazard to children.
- Colluded to lie to the public.
- Worked to prevent safety studies.
“Those are the same vaccines that are mandated to children in the US,” Baker wrote.
If you thought that travelling abroad or getting access to pubs and cafes via a vaccine passport was an assault on your body and your rights then I'm afraid that was only the tip of the ice berg. Here’s why…
In February 2020 just before Covid was beginning to shut down the world, the World Economic Forum published a paper called
A Framework for Responsible Limits on Facial Recognition Use Case: Flow Management
The purpose of the paper was to implement the use of facial technology through a project based in France. The opening paragraph is quite telling
“Over the past decade, facial recognition has emerged as one of the most powerful biometric technologies, capable of identifying and verifying a person by comparing and analysing patterns based on that individual’s facial contours”
There you have it “identifying and verifying a person”. That could never be abused, could it ? The WEF continue
In March 2022, The Irish Times called it ‘A welcome step’: Ireland’s first basic income scheme on the way’ where artists will get €250 a week in a pilot scheme but many want to see it extended to all.
Five months later and it had increased to €325 with The Irish Times called it a ‘seismic leap forward’ where some 2,000 artists will be guaranteed that weekly wage amount.
The televised speech yesterday morning by Vladimir Putin and the follow-up remarks by his Minister of Defense Shoigu announcing the partial mobilization of Russia’s army reserves to add a total of 300,000 men to the military campaign in Ukraine have been widely reported in the Western press. Plans to hold referendums on accession to the Russian Federation in the Donbas republics this weekend and also in the Kherson and Zaporozhie oblasts in the very near future also were reported by the Western press. However, as is very commonly the case, the interrelationship of these two developments has not been seen, or, if seen, has not been shared with the general public. Since precisely this interrelationship has been highlighted on Russian state television talk shows these past two days, I use this opportunity to bring to my readership the key facts on what turn the ongoing conflict in Ukraine will now take and an updated view of when it will end and with what results.
The very idea of referendums in the Donbas has been ridiculed by mainstream media in the United States and Europe. They are denounced as ‘sham’ and we are told that the results will not be recognized. In fact, the Kremlin does not at all care whether the results are recognized as valid in the West. Their logic lies elsewhere. As for the Russian public, the only critical remark about the referendums has been about the timing, with even some patriotic folks saying openly that it is too early to hold the vote given that the Donetsk People’s Republic, the Zaporozhie and Kherson oblasts have not yet been fully ‘liberated.’ Here too, the logic of these votes lies elsewhere.
It is a foregone conclusion that the Donbas republics and other territories of Ukraine now under Russian occupation will vote to join the Russian Federation. In the case of Donetsk and Lugansk, it was only under pressure from Moscow that their 2014 referendums were about declaring sovereignty and not about becoming part of Russia. Such annexation or merger was not welcomed by the Kremlin back then because Russia was not ready to face the expected massive economic, political and military attack from the West which would have followed. Today, Moscow is more than ready: indeed it has survived very well all the economic sanctions imposed by the West from even before 24 February as well as the ever growing supply to Ukraine of military materiel and ‘advisers’ from the NATO countries.
Seventeen members of Congress told U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to speed up a Pentagon security review of a Ukrainian request for large armable drones, according to a letter dated Wednesday and seen by Reuters.
The Biden administration's plan to sell four large, armable drones to Ukraine hit a snag in June because of a fear the unmanned aerial system's sophisticated surveillance equipment might fall into enemy hands, sources had previously told Reuters.
The technical objection to the sale was raised during a deeper review by the Pentagon's Defense Technology Security Administration, a group charged with keeping high value technology safe from enemy hands, the sources had said.
The current crisis in Ukraine was brought about by the West systematically covering up the crimes of the Kiev government since the 2014 coup, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told the UN Security Council on Thursday.
Lavrov noted that “impunity” is a good term for what has been happening in Ukraine, not since February but since 2014, when US-backed nationalists and neo-Nazis seized power by force. No one has ever been held responsible for the murders on the Maidan, the burning of peaceful protesters in Odessa, or the assassinations of dissidents, he pointed out.
Civilians of Donbass have been bombed mercilessly for years and dubbed terrorists and even subhuman, simply for refusing to accept the results of the coup and insisting on their basic human right to speak Russian, Lavrov said.
Ukraine has finally turned into a Nazi totalitarian state.
The Russian foreign minister presented a long list of human rights violations by Kiev that went ignored by various European and global human rights groups, from “burning books, just like in Nazi Germany” to using banned ‘petal’ land mines against civilians this summer.
“Such outrages became possible and remain unpunished due to the fact that the US and its allies, with the connivance of international human rights institutions, have been systematically covering up the crimes of the Kiev regime for eight years, basing their policy towards [Ukrainian President Vladimir] Zelensky based on the well-known American principle: he may be a son of a b*tch, but he is our son of a b*tch,” said Lavrov.
The Russian Jewish community is hurriedly leaving amid threat of military draft and protests; Cabinet to discuss steps in preparation; ticket prices from Moscow to Israel jump to NIS 23,000 while one-way cost to other destinations in the thousands of dollars
For the last two years, murders and shootings increased in the U.S., while many other types of crime remained flat or fell. So far in 2022, the trends have reversed.
It’s a confusing combination. The worst forms of crime have been moving in a different direction from other forms of crime. Both developments have big implications for everyday life: The decline in murder is saving lives, but the rise of street crime has created widespread anxiety and problems in many parts of the U.S.
On the New York City subway, the transit authority announced this week that it was installing two security cameras on every car to reassure riders who have avoided the trains because of rising crime rates. “You think Big Brother is watching you on the subway?” Gov. A poll released Thursday indicates that a majority of Texas residents and more than 40% of Hispanic and Latino voters in the state support efforts from leaders in the state to bus illegal migrants to other areas of the country.
The poll also shows incumbent GOP Gov. Greg Abbott maintaining a lead with all voters over his Democratic challenger, Beto O'Rourke.
The statewide poll from Spectrum News and Siena College — which surveyed 651 likely Texas voters — revealed that 41% of Hispanics in the state favor efforts by the state to transport illegal migrants to cities like New York and Chicago, while 44% of Hispanics oppose the process.
Scientists have temporarily paused further observations with NASA's new James Webb telescope after a problem was detected with one of its instruments, the space agency confirmed.
"The Webb team has paused in scheduling observations using this particular observing mode while they continue to analyze its behavior and are currently developing strategies to resume MRS observations as soon as possible," NASA said in a statement Tuesday.
The deep space telescope has a problem with its Mid-Infrared Instrument, a camera and spectrograph that sees light in the mid-infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum, with wavelengths that are longer than our eyes see.
There long have been reports about the Biden family's scandalous business dealings with overseas interests, including some that could be considered, like China, a threat.
Those have included the often-reported plan for the "big guy," identified by several business associates as Joe Biden, to get a 10% cut in one deal with the Chinese.
Now there is confirmation that that operation was a plan by Hunter Biden and others, through a joint venture, to sell America's natural gas to China.
The report comes from American Greatness.
"A whistleblower who facilitated the CEFC transaction informed Committee Republicans that Joe Biden would be an 'obfuscated partner' in the business with the Chinese, and Hunter Biden would hold 10% of the joint venture on behalf of his father to hide Joe Biden's participation in the plan," charges a letter addressed the Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen.
