Thought for the day
"Within the next generation I believe that the world’s rulers will discover that… the lust for power can be just as completely satisfied by suggesting people into loving their servitude as by flogging and kicking them into obedience." -- Aldous Huxley, 1949
Appearing on Fox News, Kushner asserted that “we have to remember that these are human beings, they’re people, so seeing them being used as political pawns is very troubling to me.”
A left-wing non-governmental organization (NGO) partially funded by billionaire George Soros is behind a lawsuit targeting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) for flying illegal aliens to the elite coastal island of Martha’s Vineyard.
Late last week, DeSantis sent two flights packed with 50 illegal aliens from Venezuela to Martha’s Vineyard, where former President Obama has a sprawling 29-acre summer estate.
A handful of illegal aliens flown to Martha’s Vineyard have since filed a class action lawsuit against DeSantis, alleging their Fourth and Fourteenth Amendment rights were violated. The illegal aliens are being represented by lawyers at Alianza Americas — an NGO that has received nearly $1.4 million from Soros’s Open Society Foundation from 2016 to 2020.
In a rational environment, the 77th session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) would discuss alleviating the trials and tribulations of the Global South, especially Africa.
That won’t be the case. Like a deer caught in the geopolitical headlights, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres issued platitudes about a gloomy “winter of global discontent,” even as the proverbial imperial doomsayers criticized the UN’s “crisis of faith” and blasted the “unprovoked war” started by Russia.
Of course the slow-motion genocide of Donbass russophone residents for eight years would never be recognized as a provocation.
"Any manifestations of Ukraine's military aggression after the announcement of the results of referendums should be regarded as acts of open aggression against the civilian population of Russia. All those responsible will be punished severely,” Crimean Senator Olga Kovitidi told RIA Novosti.
French President Emmanuel Macron called the forthcoming referenda a "parody". According to him, they "will not have legal consequences."
"If the idea of referendums weren't so tragic, it would be funny,” AFP quoted Macron as saying.
The United States will never recognize Russian claims to any parts of Ukraine. Referendums will come as an insult to the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity, the White House said.
The Pentagon said that the referendums would not affect Washington's support for Kyiv. Biden aide Jacob Sullivan said that Washington was aware of the "potential mobilization" that could take place in Russia.

Paypal has been on a ban-a-thon recently and has terminated the accounts of a number of campaign organizations. These organizations include the Gay Against Groomers, the Free Speech Union, legal activists Law or Fiction, and the parenting group UsForThem.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov spoke at the meeting of the UN Security Council on the situation in Ukraine.
First and foremost, Lavrov noted that one is trying to make Russia the aggressor while turning a blind eye on how Kyiv was killing people in Donbas. The Ukrainian authorities "owe" their impunity to Germany, France and the United States, Lavrov said. In particular, Kyiv openly sabotaged the implementation of the Minsk agreements while hypocritically declaring its commitment to them.
Lavrov also pointed to the use of internationally prohibited Lepestok anti-personnel mines by Ukraine in the Donbas. According to him, the Western policy in relation to Volodymyr Zelensky is based on the principle he is a son of a bitch, but he is our son of a bitch.
An EU spokeswoman for the European Commission said Thursday that the bloc should give asylum to Russians fleeing the mobilization order, but the EU’s members are not on the same page.
Anita Hipper, an EU spokeswoman for migration, said that the situation is “unprecedented” and said work was ongoing between EU members to find a common approach.
The Baltic states of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia have already come out against giving refuge to Russians who are looking to avoid the draft. On Thursday, the Czech Republic said it wouldn’t grant humanitarian visas for Russians fleeing the mobilization.
“I understand that Russians are fleeing from ever more desperate decisions by Putin. But those running because they don’t want to fulfill a duty imposed by their own government, they don’t meet the criteria for humanitarian visa,” said Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky.
New York – A Staten Island supermarket worker physically assaulted Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani in June.
Are you ready to go to war to “protect” a place, thousands of miles away from our nation, which we have no treaty alliance with and no overriding national interest?
I’m not talking about Ukraine, even though we continue to pump that country full of billions of dollars in weapons and supplies in a proxy war against Russia.
I’m talking about Taiwan, located off the coast of China in the Pacific Ocean.
Joe Biden just promised to defend it with the full military might of the United States.
When I joined the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves, and later the Idaho Army National Guard, I signed up to protect and defend the U.S. Constitution and our Bill of Rights—not Taipei.
Here’s the story.
Facebook and Instagram’s policies during Israeli attacks on Gaza last year harmed the fundamental human rights of Palestinians, according to a report commissioned by the platforms’ parent company, Meta.
The study, which was carried out by consultancy Business for Social Responsibility (BSR), was obtained by The Intercept, ahead of its publication later this week.
In May 2021, Meta was widely accused of censorship and bias during Israel’s assault on Gaza, which killed 256 Palestinians, including 66 children. In Israel, 13 people were killed by Palestinian rockets, including two children.
“Meta’s actions in May 2021 appear to have had an adverse human rights impact… on the rights of Palestinian users to freedom of expression, freedom of assembly, political participation, and non-discrimination, and therefore on the ability of Palestinians to share information and insights about their experiences as they occurred,” the report said.
The FBI had attempted to recruit Jeremy Brown as an operative to work the Jan. 6 protests for them.
Hungary’s governing party said Thursday it wants to poll the country’s citizens on whether they support European Union sanctions imposed against Russia over its war in Ukraine.
Fidesz plans to call for a “national consultation” on energy sanctions which he said had been decided on by the EU’s “Brussels elite,” the party’s caucus leader, Mate Kocsis, said at a news conference Thursday following a closed-door meeting.
“The sanctions are causing harm. They are destroying Europe’s economy,” Kocsis said. “We have to convince European decision-makers, the members of the elite, that they shouldn’t maintain the energy sanctions because big problems will come out if it.”
The poll, which the government calls a “national consultation,” is an informal survey available to every adult in Hungary which can be returned by mail or filled out online.
Such surveys, issued several times by the governments of nationalist-populist Prime Minister Viktor Orban since he came to power in 2010, have been criticized by pollsters and opposition parties for containing biased and leading questions, and for having no binding legal relevance.
Finland said on Thursday it was considering barring most Russians from entering the country as traffic across the border from its eastern neighbour "intensified" following President Vladimir Putin's order for a partial military mobilisation.
Finnish land border crossings have remained among the few entry points into Europe for Russians after a string of Western countries shut both physical frontiers and their air space to Russian planes in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Prime Minister Sanna Marin said on Thursday the government was assessing risks posed by individuals travelling through Finland, and was considering ways to sharply reduce Russian transit.
In a 7-4 vote on Tuesday, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors agreed to test Mayor London Breed's controversial plan to overhaul the city's surveillance practices, which will allow police to access private security cameras in real time.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says “all hell will break loose” if his flood-ravaged country is not provided with debt relief by rich nations.
In an interview with Bloomberg TV on Friday morning, Sharif sought a moratorium on Pakistan’s debt repayment from the Paris Club (a group of rich creditor countries) and others, saying there is a “yawning gap” between what is being asked for and what is available.
Senator Joni Ernst and Congressman Mike Waltz, along with 25 Senate Republican and 20 House Republican co-sponsors, on Wednesday introduced the Preventing Underhanded and Nefarious Iranian Supported Homicides (Punish) Act.
If passed, the legislation would prevent the withdrawal of US sanctions on Iran until Secretary of State Antony Blinken certifies to Congress that Iran had not supported any attempts to kill US citizens or Iranians living in the country for at least five years.
A jury found Project Veritas liable in a federal civil case for fraudulently misrepresenting itself and violating wiretapping laws after the conservative group targeted a Democratic political consulting firm in an undercover operation, per the New York Times.
The big picture: Project Veritas founder James O'Keefe said on the group's YouTube channel Thursday night they'll appeal the verdict after the jury awarded the consulting firm, Democracy Partners, $120,000 in the case.
Details: Lawyers for Democracy Partners told the jury in Washington earlier this month their clients "were the victims of political spying conducted by Project Veritas" during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to Politico.
State-organised demonstrations to counter nationwide anti-government protests triggered by the death of a woman in police custody kicked off in several Iranian cities on Friday, with marchers calling for the execution of rioters.
Demonstrators condemned the anti-government protesters as "Israel's soldiers", live state television coverage showed. They also shouted “Death to America” and “Death to Israel", common slogans the country's clerical rulers use to try and stir up support for authorities.
"Offenders of the Koran must be executed," the crowds chanted.
Iranians have staged mass demonstrations over the case of Mahsa Amini, 22, who died last week after being arrested by the morality police for wearing "unsuitable attire".
Amini's death has reignited anger over issues including restrictions on personal freedoms in Iran, strict dress codes for women and an economy reeling from sanctions.
Less then a week after Goldman slashed its 2022 GDP forecast to stagnation (i.e. 0% growth) hinting that a recession was on deck...
...and just two days after we reported that Goldman's chief equity strategist David Kostin launched a trial balloon, telling clients that even as he still has a 4300 year-end price target on the S&P500, he saw the broad index tumbling as low as 2,900 in a recession, when we commented that "and there is your bogey: within 2-3 months, right after the BLS discovers the "mistakes" it had been making in its labor model and rectifies them sending the US in a brutal recession, expect Goldman to slash its optimistic 4,300 price target to one at or below 3,000 as a recession now becomes the bank's base case scenario", overnight Goldman did just that, and while it has yet to cut to 3,000 - after all a recession is still not the bank's base case, but it will be in a few weeks - David Kostin, who has been dead wrong about pretty much everything over the past year (his initial 2022 year-end forecast was 5,100 set last November) just slashed his year-end S&P target from 4,300 to a whopping 3,600, which is not just almost 20% lower but is below the market's current price!
If China invades Taiwan to unify it with the mainland, the United States will go to war to defend Taiwan and send U.S. troops to fight the invaders.
That is the commitment made last week by President Joe Biden.
Pelley followed up: ”So, unlike Ukraine, to be clear, sir, U.S. forces—U.S. men and women—would defend Taiwan in the event of a Chinese invasion.”
”Yes,” Biden responded.
Protests in Iran over the killing of a young Kurdish woman for not wearing her headscarf properly continued to spread on Thursday, despite an increasingly brutal crackdown from the theocratic regime.
The demonstrators are reportedly fighting back with determination rarely seen in Iran since the 1979 Islamist revolution, with reports of police stations and vehicles burned, police officers injured and killed, and even members of the regime’s thuggish Basij militia dying in scuffles with demonstrators.
22-year-old Mahsa Amini was arrested by the “morality police” last week, upon arriving in Tehran from Iran’s Kurdistan region, for allegedly violating hijab laws recently made even stricter by hardline President Ebrahim Raisi. Eyewitnesses said Amini was severely beaten while being taken to detention, where she lapsed into a coma and died last Friday.
Iranian officials claimed Amini died from a pre-existing medical condition and denied reports of her abuse, but those claims were challenged by eyewitness and medical testimony as the protest movement grew.
Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) said on Wednesday that conservatives should oppose the Journalism Competition and Preservation Act (JCPA) because it will lead to more censorship.
“The Journalism Competition and Protection Act (JCPA) lets the media form a cartel to negotiate w/ big tech. Conservatives should oppose special treatment for favored industries, and a cartel will lead to more censorship. Republicans should vote NO on the JCPA,” Cotton said in a statement.
Data suggests prices at discount stores have risen while Americans grapple with inflation, even as President Joe Biden (D) tries keeping citizens from worrying about it.
At Dollar General, the data indicated costs have jumped nearly 24 percent, per Numerator. ALDI’s prices reportedly hit 17 percent, according to a CBS News article published Wednesday:
Leo Feler, chief economist at Numerator, which tracks hundreds of millions of shopping receipts, says food inflation is hitting lower income people disproportionately because higher income communities have more options.
“You can go from a Whole Foods to a Walmart, from a Walmart to a Dollar General,” Feler said. “Once you’re a low income consumer, you are already at the cheapest place that you can possibly buy food. And that just means that these stores have more pricing power.”
Gov. Gavin Newsom of California just signed into law new legislation allowing dead bodies throughout the state to be composted instead of buried or cremated.
Up until now, the Golden State, like most states and the rest of the world, only allowed for the burial or burning of deceased human remains. Now, there is the option of turning dead people into fertilizer for soil. (Related: The state of Washington legalized human composting back in 2019.)
Assembly Bill 351 explicitly allows for “natural organic reduction” (NOR), as they are calling it, beginning in 2027. Until then, dead bodies in California will still have to be either buried or cremated.
The NOR process involves putting human remains into a reusable container and surrounding it with wood chips, allowing it to aerate for microbial and bacterial growth. After about a month, all that is left is “soil.”
As usual, the excuse for needing to turn deceased humans into Soylent Green is that the planet, plagued by “warming,” we are told, is harmed by burial and cremation.
You have to admire their chutzpah when they portray the West as “a defender of democracy” in Ukraine! Let’s never forget that the governments of the West are run by Klaws Swab puppets elected in rigged elections. They are waging a vicious war against their own populations, poisoning them, their families, their society and their livelihoods. Xelinsky has banned all opposition voices in the Ukraine and threatened to jail anyone who votes in a democratic referendum over the future of the Donbas.
Iran, Russia and China will hold joint naval exercises in the northern Indian Ocean “this autumn,” Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency reported.
Other countries including Oman and Pakistan may also join the drills, Mehr cited Iranian Chief of Staff Major General Mohammad Bagheri as saying, without giving further details.
The northern Indian Ocean extends to the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, a key waterway for the export of oil to world markets.
The three nations started joint exercises in December 2019, according to Iranian state media, to deal with unspecified “threats in the region.” China’s military spokesman at the time described the exercises as a “normal military exchange.” The most recent round was in January.
Apart from the usual toll of White women (and this month one White man) killed by Black Significant Others, we note a new trend: whites killed while driving or riding in cars. Road rage appears to be factor. Traveling while White appears to be increasingly dangerous. Additionally, the Main Stream Media and law enforcement agencies are increasingly successful in suppressing the race of perps altogether. Email me here or VDARE.com here if you have tips.
But let the record show there were another two police officers killed this month. It remains a tough, if increasingly politicized, job.
