"Frankly, I don't know what it is about California, but we seem to have a strange urge to elect really obnoxious women to high office. I'm not bragging, you understand, but no other state, including Maine, even comes close. When it comes to sending left-wing dingbats to Washington, we're Number One. There's no getting around the fact that the last time anyone saw the likes of Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, Maxine Waters, and Nancy Pelosi, they were stirring a cauldron when the curtain went up on 'Macbeth '. The four of them are like jackasses who happen to possess the gift of blab. You don't know if you should condemn them for their stupidity or simply marvel at their ability to form words." -- Columnist Burt Prelutsky, Los Angeles Times
Walter was a curmudgeon, drank whisky, and even with only one lung smoked large cigars well into his 80s, gave them up, and lived to be over a hundred. Walter earned his living as a cabinet and furniture maker. He taught me woodworking at a little waterwheel powered wood shop he owned (which still stands). He also taught me how to shoot and how to hunt. We didn't always get along. I guess you don't see what Walter saw and remain entirely cheerful for the rest of your life.
So, here is one soldier; not a glyph on a wall, but a man with a name, a face, and a history. To his friends and family he was a real human being, even though to the War Department he was just another statistic.
But as I think back on him, I know for a fact that he and the millions of others who served in all the various wars the United States became entangled in would be shocked and saddened to see that the government for which they sacrificed so much has become the very embodiment of all that they fought so hard against. No more First Amendment, warrantless spying on Americans, show trials, confessions extracted by torture, rigged elections; for this Walter gave up a lung?
So, this week, in between the sporting events and the barbecues, take a moment to look at the flag for what it used to represent rather than the globally hated symbol it has since become. Consider all those in your family who risked and sometimes lost all in America's wars, and decide for yourself how they would feel about the government of this nation as it exists today.
The peer-reviewed paper, published by Director of Research Andrew Paquette, PhD, and Marly Hornick, was the result of an audit of voter rolls led by the pair using around 2,000 New York-based volunteers.
The study found that there are "hundreds of thousands of illegally generated registrations in the official NYXBOE voter rolls. The exact number is unknown, but it is not less than about 338,000 for registrations active for the 2020 General Election (NYCA [New York Citizens Audit] 2022). If other elections are included, the number of apparently illegal registrations jumps to between 1.2 and 2.4 million."
56.93 percent of all voter ID numbers were assigned based on a primary algorithm that allows "a hidden attribute tag to be added."
Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is predicting that President Joe Biden “will be impeached” following an explosive report alleging the president engaged in a “criminal scheme.”
House Oversight Chairman James Comer and Iowa GOP Sen. Chuck Grassley announced a whistleblower had come forth claiming the Department of the Justice and FBI possess a file describing an alleged “criminal scheme” between Biden and a foreign national while he was serving as Vice President in then-President Barack Obama’s White House.
Grassley described the whistleblower as “credible.”
Axios described the claims against Biden as “the most direct allegation against President Biden himself.”
Greene posted a “breaking news” video along with a copy of the joint letter from Grassley and Comer suggesting she now has “evidence” to prove Biden’s alleged “criminal scheme.”
The Department of Justice is looking for evidence that New Jersey’s senior U.S. Senator Bob Menendez illegally accepted luxury gifts in exchange for overseas government contracts and failed to report them to tax disclosure forms, NBC New York has learned.
The gifts, according to sources close to the investigation, include a Mercedes Benz sedan, jewelry, and a luxury apartment in Washington, D.C. The probe centers around a New Jersey-based businessman who in return for the gifts allegedly received a meat certification contract with the Egyptian government despite having no relationships in the country or experience to perform the work.
Menendez, a Democrat, chairs the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee and would have the authority to marshal votes for such an arrangement. A spokesman for the senator’s office denied any wrongdoing on his part and said “Should there be any official inquiries, the senator is available to provide any assistance requested of him or his office.”
The since-fired Hunter College professor who held a machete to a Post reporter’s neck was released by a Bronx judge Thursday night during a court hearing attended by numerous supporters.
Shellyne Rodriguez, 45, made her first court appearance in Bronx Criminal Court, where she was arraigned on charges of menacing and harassment over the frightening confrontation with a veteran Post scribe inside her Bronx apartment building earlier in the week.
About a half-dozen supporters attended the brief hearing and one even clapped after a judge released Rodriguez on her own recognizance.
The Texas Legislature on Wednesday passed a bill that would forbid doctors to subject children to sexual surgeries and other treatments associated with so-called “gender-affirming care.”
“Texas would become the largest state to ban gender-affirming care for minors under a bill sent Wednesday night to Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, who has previously ordered child welfare officials to investigate such treatment as abuse,” the Associated Press reported.
Gov. Abbott’s administration has been outspoken against medical professionals who practice experimental “transgender medicine” on children in the Lone Star State. If he signs the new bill into law, Texas would become the 18th state – and the largest – to enact measures protecting minors from LGBTQ-backed medical practices.
OX News owner Rupert Murdoch hosted Governor Ron DeSantis at his California Ranch in Bel Air in 2020. He told him FOX News would support his potential run for president in 2024.
Since then Murdoch and FOX Corp fired its top host Tucker Carlson who was a favorite of the Trump-MAGA crowd.
FOX News has since implemented a soft ban on President Trump.
The news channel is suffering from this new direction. FOX News has lost nearly half of its audience since firing Tucker Carlson.
The FBI is continuing to stonewall congressional oversight of the agency’s investigation into a pair of pipe bombs found at the Democrat National Committee and Republican National Committee headquarters on Jan. 6, 2021.
On Wednesday, House Republicans on the Judiciary Committee re-upped demands for a comprehensive briefing on the two-year-old case over which the FBI has refused transparency.
“Your failure to comply with our request is particularly concerning given recent media reports regarding the pipe bomb investigation,” lawmakers wrote.
The slanderous Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is colluding with the corrupt Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to smear Catholics and conservatives, according to a report.
Jihad Watch Director Robert Spencer disclosed this collusion in a May 23 piece for Front Page Magazine. According to him, the SPLC “relentlessly smears legitimate conservative individuals and groups by labeling them as purveyors of ‘hate’ and lumping them in with the likes of the [Ku Klux Klan] and neo-Nazis.”
Spencer cited a May 14 article at the Daily Signal stating that “the FBI appears, at least briefly, to have joined the SPLC’s attempt” to smear Roman Catholics. The piece noted that Catholics who adhere to the church’s teaching on marriage and who celebrate the Latin Mass were the targets of the smear campaign.
