Thought for the day

"Within the next generation I believe that the world’s rulers will discover that… the lust for power can be just as completely satisfied by suggesting people into loving their servitude as by flogging and kicking them into obedience." -- Aldous Huxley, 1949

War criminal George W Bush and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be appearing at an event next week at the George W. Bush Presidential Center, in partnership with US government-funded narrative management operations Freedom House and National Endowment for Democracy. The goal of the presentation will reportedly be to address the completely fictional and imaginary concern that congressional Republicans won’t continue supporting US proxy war efforts in Ukraine.

CNN reports:

Former US President George W. Bush will hold a public conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky next week with the aim of underscoring the importance of the US continuing to support Ukraine’s war effort against Russia.

The event, which will take place in Dallas and be open to the public, comes amid questions about the willingness of the former president’s Republican Party to maintain support for Ukraine.

“Ukraine is the frontline in the struggle for freedom and democracy. It’s literally under attack as we speak, and it is vitally important that the United States provide the assistance, military and otherwise to help Ukraine defend itself,” David Kramer, the managing director for global policy at the George W. Bush Institute, told CNN. “President Bush believes in standing with Ukraine.”

The Struggle for Freedom event will take place on Wednesday, in partnership with the Freedom House and the National Endowment for Democracy, at the George W. Bush Presidential Center.

The United Nations General Assembly is not authorized to establish any mechanisms to make Russia pay ‘reparations,’ as a resolution put for voting on November 14 suggests, Russia’s First Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations said on Sunday.

"The UN General Assembly will be in focus of attention tomorrow again: Western countries plan another acrimonious attack. This time, they are pushing through a UNGA draft resolution on calling Russia responsible, including reparations to Ukraine. They are seeking to set up a mechanism that would not be controlled by the General Assembly. Even non-professionals see the politicized nature and legal futility of this document: the General Assembly doesn’t have such authority," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to the Russian diplomat, putting this draft for vote, Western nations are opening a Pandora’s box. "These consequences are seen quite clearly. I wish our Western colleagues demonstrate their utter fidelity to principles and show readiness to repay the damage done to developing countries during the centuries of their colonial policy, slavery and robbery of their natural resources. Let alone hundreds of aggressions and intrusions. Otherwise, it will only highlight the United States’ and its satellites’ double standards and their desire to be above law," he emphasized.

I don’t think the technocrats will be developing any “transhumans” anytime soon.

On Wednesday this week, became the first publicly traded company in history to lose $1 trillion in market valuation [1].

And then yesterday afternoon, Elon Musk told employees of Twitter at an “all-hands meeting” that the company is losing so much money that “bankruptcy is not out of the question.” (Source [2].)

All of this happened after the great cryptocurrency collapse of Tuesday, when the equivalent of a “bank run” happened when crypto exchange FTX saw $6 billion of withdrawals in a 72-hour span, resulting in them stopping the process of withdrawals. See:

Crypto Currency Billionaire Loses Fortune Almost Overnight as Crypto Ponzi Business Exposed – The Beginning of the Great Reset? [3]

FTX has now declared bankruptcy [4], and its owner, who was once compared to Warren Buffet, now is looking at possible time in prison and poverty, leaving those who had invested in cryptocurrencies and FTX scrambling to recover, including Miami-Dade County which made a 19-year $90 million agreement with FTX for naming rights to its downtown arena where the NBA team Miami Heat plays. (Source [5].) And last night, Crypto lending platform BlockFi announced it was halting withdrawals in the wake of the collapse of crypto exchange FTX. (Source [6].)

The other Big Tech news on Tuesday was that Facebook parent company Meta announced it is slashing more than 11,000 jobs, reducing its workforce by about 13 percent. (Source [7].)

This follows news that we reported about 2 weeks ago that the Department of Justice has started a probe into Tesla over their claims of having a “self-driving car.” At about the same time this news was reported, Ford and Volkswagen announced that they were halting further investments into AI self-driving vehicles, forcing Argo AI, an AV technology startup founded by Uber and Google veterans, to shut down.

Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo calls on Western leaders to tone down their rhetoric in respect of Russia at the Group of Twenty summit in Bali, the Politico newspaper said on Sunday, citing its sources.

According to the Politico, Indonesian officials, including President Widodo, are pressing Western colleagues to be more flexible and look at a possibility of using less tough rhetoric concerning Moscow. It is done to make Russia, which is represented at the summit by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, agree the summit’s final resolution, it said, adding that Widodo would see it as his personal success if the resolution is passed.

The Politico notes that Saudi Arabia, India, Brazil, and China are don’t want to condemn Russia in the final declaration.

Documents obtained by The Grayzone reveal plans by a cell of British military-intelligence figures to organize and train a covert Ukrainian “partisan” army with explicit instructions to attack Russian targets in Crimea.

On October 28th, a Ukrainian drone attack damaged the Russian Black Sea fleet’s flagship vessel in the Crimean port of Sevastopol. Moscow immediately blamed Britain for assisting and orchestrating the strike, as well as blowing up the Nord Stream pipelines – the worst acts of industrial sabotage in recent memory.

In January, an underwater volcano in the South Pacific called Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai erupted, sending a massive ash plume up into the sky where it reached 187,000 feet. The result was a cloud of darkness that created a global “diming” effect that will probably be felt for years to come with reduced crop yields.

You see, crops need unimpeded sunlight to reach their full potential. And all that persistent ash and water vapor that was left behind from the eruption prevented that sunlight from reaching the earth’s surface.

The Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai eruption is said to be the first ever recorded that broke through the third layer of the atmosphere, called the mesosphere. (Related: Hundreds of climate scientists have called for Bill Gates’ “sun dimming” projects to be immediately halted.)

Russian Su-35s Are Hunting Ukrainian Warplanes With Long-Range Hypersonic Air-To-Air Missiles (Video)

Su-35S multirole fighter jets of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) have recently begun to carry R-37M long-range hypersonic air-to-air missiles while conducting patrols over the special military operation zone in Ukraine.

On November 12, the Russian Ministry of Defense released a video documenting one such patrol. The video shows a Su-35S armed with two R-37M missiles along with two R-73 short-range air-to-air missiles, two R-77 medium-range air-to-air missiles and a Kh-31P anti-radar missile.

The maker of the above video was jailed for 32 months for producing it.

According to Judge Robert Linford, Graham Hart, 69, had “set out to whip feelings of hatred to members of the Jewish faith” with anti-Semitic rants over a four-year period.

We leave readers to decide if his “crime” warranted jailing Hart for nearly three years? We ask because there are NO calls for violence in the above video nor anything ethnically derogatory. Seriously, all it does is call into question many of the things we are taught about the Holocaust, which have never been catagorically proven as fact.

Such as portions of Anne Frank’s diary that were written in ball point pen, which was not invented till the 1950’s.

Russia launches sixth early warning Kupol satellite

2 November, Soyuz-2 lifts off from Plesetsk Cosmodrome, carrying the sixth satellite of Russia’s next-generation early warning system, photo: Ministry of defense of Russia

Russia’s Soyuz-2.1b rocket launched from Site 43/4 at Plesetsk Cosmodrome, carrying the sixth Kupol satellite of Russia’s next-generation early warning system. Upon reaching orbit, the spacecraft was assigned the serial number “Cosmos-2563”. The Russian ministry of defense announced “the telemetry connection with the spacecraft is stable and on-board systems of the device operate normally.”

The ministry did not provide any information about the mission neither what playload the spacecraft was carrying. According to the specialized website Russian Space web, this is the sixth satellite of the Kupol series of satellites (known as Tundra) or Edinaya Kosmicheskaya Sistema (EKS). These satellites are the next generation of Russia’s early warning satellites.

The joint exercises of the United States, Great Britain and Australia "Project Convergence" (Project Convergence) began in California.

The exercises simulate hypothetical battles against Russia on the territory of Europe. They are held at the Fort Irwin base in the Mojave Desert, the relief of which, according to the organizers of the exercises, resembles the Ukrainian steppes.

As part of the exercises, the use of "clusters of reconnaissance drones", specially adapted for moving autonomous M-Raza buggies in desert conditions, as well as British GMLRS guided missile launch systems, which work out targets based on tips received as a result of the involvement of American F-35 fighter-bombers, is being practiced.

The United Arab Emirates is engaged in a longstanding espionage attempt to compromise the United States government, according to three intelligence officials interviewed by The Washington Post.

The Gulf Arab nation’s interference in American politics takes the form of political bribery as well as more traditional espionage, as per a report reviewed by the officials in question, according to the Post.

Agents of the Middle Eastern kingdom rely on “campaign contributions, susceptibility to powerful lobbying firms and lax enforcement of disclosure laws intended to guard against interference by foreign governments” according to a verbal summary of the report described to the Post and published Saturday.

A town in New Hampshire just set a new standard for the new normal.

In an era where distortions of sexual reality has become commonplace — supporters of Lia Thomas making a mockery of women’s athletics for instance, or Sports Illustrated sporting “transgender women” in its previously iconic swimsuit issue — it might seem like even the outrage is getting old.

But along came a pageant in Derry, New Hampshire, to take things to a new low.

In a betrayal of good faith, good sportsmanship and good sense, the Miss Greater Derry Scholarship Program last week crowned 19-year-old Brian Nguyen its winner for 2023. It was an undeniable win for Nguyen and the small circle of dismayingly deluded individuals who think overweight men compare favorably to lithe young women in evening gowns.

For the sane segment of humanity, however, it was a time for utter disbelief.

Obvious aesthetics aside, the young women here were competing in a contest they had every right to believe they had a chance of winning, and a contest specifically designed for their age and their sex.

As it turns out, they’d clearly been defrauded.

Daytime sheriff’s deputy patrols will soon be a thing of the past in Tehama County, California, a small rural inland county north of Sacramento.

A statement from the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office said it can no longer cover all shifts in the roughly 65,000-person county.

“Beginning November 20, 2022, the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office will suspend day-time patrol services to its designated areas of responsibility within Tehama County. This added reduction of services is necessary to manage a catastrophic staffing shortage throughout the agency,” according to a release from the Tehama County Sheriff’s Office.

For much of the past year (and certainly at the time, more than a year ago, when the so-called experts, central bankers and macrotourists were still yapping about "transitory inflation" and other things they were wrong about and do not understand), we were warning that at some point the Fed will realize that it is simply impossible to contain supply-driven inflation through stubborn rate hikes which instead would lead to a dire alternative - millions in mass layoffs and newly unemployed workers - and will revise its 2% inflation target higher, a move which will send every risk asset, from high-beta trash and meme stonks, to blue-chip icons, to bitcoin and cryptos, limit up.

To remind readers of this coming phase shift, we most recently warned in June that "at some point Fed will concede it has no control over supply. That's when we will start getting leaks of raising the inflation target"...

Amid growing speculation of his whereabouts, Bloomberg reports that Sam Bankman-Fried was interviewed by Bahamian police and regulators on Saturday, although Bloomberg was quick to add that in the Bahamas, law-enforcement inquiries don’t necessarily mean someone will be arrested or charged with a crime.

In a separate report, Bloomberg also notes that the Bahamian police said they’re working with the Bahamas Securities Commission to investigate whether there was any criminal misconduct in the collapse of the crypto exchange FTX (narrator: there was).

We recently discussed a troubling conviction in Great Britain of a man for his “toxic ideology.” Now Ireland appears ready to replicate that case a thousand fold. The proposed Criminal Justice (Incitement to Violence or Hatred and Hate Offences) Bill 2022 would criminalize the possession of material deemed hateful.

It is a full frontal assault on speech and associational rights. The law would allow for sweeping authoritarian measures in defining opposing viewpoints hateful. Ireland appears to be picking up the cudgel of speech criminalization from Britain, an abusive power once used against the Irish.

The law is a free speech nightmare.  Even before addressing the crime of possession of harmful material, the law would “provide for an offence of condoning, denying or grossly trivialising genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and crimes against peace.” The crime of condoning, denying or grossly trivailising” criminal conduct would make most autocrats blush. The lack of any meaningful definition invites arbitrary enforcement. The law expressly states the intent to combat “forms and expressions of racism and xenophobia by means of criminal law.”

he UK should house illegal immigrants in “simple, functional” spaces as opposed to luxury hotels in a bid to disincentivise “asylum shopping,” Immigration Minister Robert Jenrick has said.

Writing in the Sunday Telegraph, Jenrick said the UK “has an obligation to provide sanctuary to some of the many who flee war and persecution,” but the country’s generosity is being “abused” by illegal immigrants “skipping the queue in small boat crossings.”

More than 40,000 illegal immigrants have crossed the English Channel to reach the UK this year.

Sunday's batch of Arizona votes brought good news for Republican gubernatorial hopeful Kari Lake

When the numbers from various counties were all added up, Lake had trimmed Democrat Katie Hobbs' lead by about 8,000 votes. With about 161,000 votes left to count, Hobbs is now up 26,011. In percentage terms, Hobbs leads 50.5% to 49.5% with 93% of the votes counted.

About 58% of the remaining ballots are in Maricopa County. While Lake is gaining ground as Maricopa's tallies increasingly represent votes from Republican-heavy Phoenix suburbs and exurbs, some observers say Sunday's results make it less likely that Lake will snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Lake won 54.6% of Sunday's reported Maricopa votes, compared to 45.4% for Hobbs. "For [Monday's] drop to be relevant, I was looking for at least a Lake 58/42 [split]," tweeted ABC15 political analyst Garrett Archer, a former elections analyst for the Arizona secretary of state.

Lake's hurdle for the remaining statewide ballots is high: She'll need about 58.1% of them to pull off the buzzer-beater.
