"The executive power in our government is not the only, perhaps not even the principal, object of my solicitude. The tyranny of the legislature is really the danger most to be feared, and will continue to be so for many years to come. The tyranny of the executive power will come in its turn, but at a more distant period." -- Thomas Jefferson, Democracy in America
We have been discussing how Hillary Clinton and other Democratic leaders have turned from private censorship to good old-fashioned state censorship. They have called upon their counterparts in England, France, and Germany to prevent the restoration of free speech protections with censorship laws — laws that would be unconstitutional in the United States. The British have already responded to such urgent calls and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern who recently repeated this call for global censorship at the United Nations to the applause of diplomats and media alike.
Now the German left has responded with the the ruling Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) calling for censorship before, to use Clinton’s words, “it is too late” and free speech is stored on Twitter.
The Jews are the ones behind the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and their goal is to create a new Jewish state to replace the failing Zionist project of Israel, Palestinian Islamic scholar Mraweh Nassar has claimed, as reported by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).
Nassar, whom MEMRI identified as the secretary-general of the Jerusalem Committee of the International Union of Muslims Scholars, made his claims on March 22 while speaking with Channel 9, an Arabic-language TV station in Turkey that the media watchdog says is affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood.
Polling is organized lying for the purpose of discouraging voting by those who pose a threat to the people in charge of the polling and who hold or control political office(s). Close to 90% of Americans think we are “on the wrong path”, and are worried about their economic survival. Do you really think there’s even ONE DEMOCRAT that has a chance of being legitimately elected or reelected? Come on… WAKE UP!!! Biden’s approval rating is 9% – yes, you read that correctly 9%. Does it make sense any Democrats would win an election without massive cheating?
Despite the White House’s repeated insistence that “democracy” itself was on the 2022 midterms ballot, CNN anchor Dana Bash noted at the beginning of her network’s Election Night coverage that it wasn’t even a top-five issue for voters.
Los Angeles business owners sounded the alarm that the city faces an imminent collapse if residents elect more progressives into local government during a segment on Election Night 2022 with The Daily Wire.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy will take part in a summit of the Group of 20 major economies next week, most likely attending virtually, his spokesperson told the Suspilne public broadcaster on Tuesday.
Zelenskiy had said last week he would not take part if President Vladimir Putin attended the Nov. 15-16 summit in Indonesia. Serhiy Nykyforov, the spokesperson, did not say whether Zelenskiy had changed his position.
Australia will launch a review into the obligations former Defence Force personnel have to protect state secrets, following reports Australians were among Western military pilots who had been approached to help train the Chinese military.
Defence Minister Richard Marles said on Wednesday intelligence agencies and Australian Federal Police were "investigating a number of cases" in Australia, and announced a review into the policies and procedures governing Australian Defence Force personnel.
"For those who do come into possession of our nation's secrets either through service in the Australian Defence Force or service in any other part of the Commonwealth, there is an enduring obligation to maintain those secrets," he told a media conference.
British and Estonian officials have inked a road map for beefing up their military ties that will boost the remaining U.K. contingent in the Baltic nation with short-range air defense weapons and multiple-launch rocket systems, the two governments announced Tuesday.
The agreement, signed in London by British Defence Secretary Ben Wallace and his Estonian counterpart, Hanno Pevkur, aims to implement NATO plans approved in Madrid, Spain, over the summer for hardening the alliance’s eastern front.
Several explosions on Monday evening rocked a weapons warehouse owned by Yemen's government forces in the country's northeastern oil-rich province of Marib, a security official told Xinhua.
"Massive explosions rocked a weapons warehouse near a densely populated neighborhood in Marib province, igniting fires and forcing the evacuation of several families living in the area," the local security official said on condition of anonymity.
The official accused the Houthi rebels of striking the weapons warehouse that belonged to the third Regional Military Command of the Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces in Marib.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the explosions caused a number of injuries and deaths, he said, without providing the exact number of casualties.
A maintenance procedure used by Air Force mechanics to document inspections likely damaged hundreds of C-130 propeller blades over a decade, according to service officials.
Maintenance technicians examining the propeller blades for cracks or other damage scratched permanent marks on each blade to document the inspection had taken place.
“The process used to engrave serial numbers on the propellers likely contributed to cracks that are being found on the C-130Hs,” Maj. Beau Downey, an Air Force spokesperson, said in an email. “That process, which involved an electric arc pen to incise digits into the surface of the metal, was stopped about six months ago and will not be used going forward. Further analysis will be needed for a full understanding of the root cause of the cracks. Right now our focus is on safely and quickly returning these aircraft to supporting the mission.”
Kari Lake promised she will 'fight for days' to ensure the 2022 midterms in Arizona were conducted 'fairly' before a final count is reported as she falls behind her Democratic challenger by 5 percent amid chaos with voting machine malfunctions.
Lake delivered a speech from Scottsdale, Arizona on Tuesday evening when she was trailing her opponent Katie Hobbs by double digits, claiming that the 'cheaters' are trying to tell Republicans they didn't have the 'red tsunami' they predicted.
The former broadcast journalist made significant strides from the time of her speech to a few hours later, gaining more than half the ground needed to pull out a victory.
Democratic Senate hopeful John Fetterman defeated Republican Dr. Mehmet Oz in Pennsylvania, wrapping up one of the most closely watched races of the midterms just before 1 a.m. Wednesday morning. 'We launched this campaign almost two years ago - and we had our slogan - and it's on every one of those signs right now: every count, every vote,' Fetterman said to a rowdy crowd still gathered at Stage AE in Pittsburgh. 'And that's exactly what happened - we jammed them up. We held the line.' 'I never expected that we would turn these red counties blue, but we did what we needed to do,' he continued. 'And that's why tonight I'll be the next U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania,' Fetterman added. NBC News, Fox News and CNN all called the race for the Democrat, after Fetterman led the count all night. The Associated Press has yet to call the race. Fetterman's crowd exploded in cheers as the lieutenant governor's win was predicted by the networks. As he walked onstage, Fetterman admitted surprise - as the count was expected to take several days.
Democratic incumbent Raphael Warnock holds less than a one point lead over Republican ex-NFL star Herschel Walker in the key Senate race that will likely head to a runoff election in December that could decide which party takes the majority.
As of 2:20 a.m on Wednesday morning., with 97 percent of precincts reporting, Warnock was up by about 31,000 votes, leading Walker 49.4 to 48.6, on a night that Democrats across the country defied the odds and a GOP red wave failed to materialize.
Warnock had 1,922,548 votes to Walker's 1,891,284.
The rise of outspoken hardliners in the Kremlin is alarming insiders fearful the Russian president will heed their calls for even more confrontation abroad and sweeping repression at home.
Senior business executives and government officials have watched with growing worry as players they once considered marginal like Yevgeny Prigozhin, known for his Wagner mercenary company and recruiting of prison inmates to fight in Ukraine, have become the public forces behind Vladimir Putin’s push to step up his increasingly all-encompassing war effort.
The U.S. government plans to deploy an aircraft carrier in the Sea of Japan in a show of force if North Korea carries out its first nuclear test in years, sources with knowledge of the matter have said, adding any decision is expected to be taken in alignment with Japan and South Korea.
The administration of President Joe Biden is also preparing to draft a U.N. Security Council resolution in a bid to strengthen sanctions on North Korea, while releasing a statement with the other Group of Seven industrialized nations to condemn Pyongyang, the sources said Monday.
The World Economic Forum’s ‘First Movers Coalition’ climate change agenda was “modelled” off the effort to roll out vaccines during the Chinese coronavirus crisis, John Kerry said at a COP27 panel in Egypt on Tuesday.
Appearing alongside WEF President Børge Brende and various corporate executives, US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry said that it is urgent for the private sector to pair with governments to realise the goal of preventing the global temperature from rising and to save lives in the allegedly looming global climate crisis.
“We have an enormous challenge before us to bring to scale new technologies and to harness the deeply capable capacity of private sector entrepreneurs in order to bring them to the table because without it, no government has enough money… we need everybody behind this,” Kerry said in a speech before the panel.
“The idea behind the launch of the First Movers Coalition is pretty straightforward, we needed to create demand signals in the market where they didn’t exist, which takes boldness, it takes courage from these executives who have made the decision to be a part of this.
Crypto giant FTX's CEO lost $16 billion of his personal fortune as his company faces a liquidity crunch and is bailed out by its rival.
Sam Bankman-Fried, 30, who touted last year that his crypto company would be big enough to buy Goldman Sachs, will see his fortune drop to $1 billion after receiving a bailout from rival Changpeng Zhao's Binance, Bloomberg reports.
The 94 percent loss is the biggest one-day collapse ever among billionaires.
Wall Street executives and and other billionaires have pumped more than $200 million into this year's midterm elections, as influential megadonors continue to become a major percentage of all overall contributions.
Many of the top donors this cycle are the same people who have topped political contribution lists in years past, like Democrat megadonor George Soros who donated $128 million this year — most of it earmarked for the future.
But there are a few new names on the list, like embattled cryptocurrency billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried, who has emerged as a major Democrat donor, and his FTX co-CEO Ryan Samale who backs Republicans.
New York Democratic governor Kathy Hochul managed to turn back a challenge from Republican Lee Zeldin to cling to the governor's mansion in what had become a competitive race in a Blue-leaning state.
The race tightened in the polls in recent weeks as Zeldin, a U.S. Republican House representative, hammered Hochul on crime and other issues while getting a Donald Trump endorsement and fundraising support from the former president.
Midterm polls are closed in Arizona and will not be reopening after a judge denied Republicans' request to extend voting hours from 7pm to 10pm following malfunctions in 20 percent of voting machines in the state's largest county Maricopa.
Lawyers for Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake and Senate candidate Blake Masters, both Republicans, requested that polls be kept open for an additional three hours.
Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Timothy Ryan denied this request.
The judge said he did not see evidence that people were denied the right to cast their ballot.
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday that Ankara conveyed its expectation to see concrete steps from Sweden to fulfil anti-terrorism obligations under a deal clearing bids by the Nordic country and neighbouring Finland to join NATO.
In a joint news conference after a meeting in Ankara, Sweden's Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson said he understood Turkey's fight against terrorism and vowed to fulfil security commitments the Nordic country made to get Ankara's backing for its entry into NATO.
"In our meeting, we have openly shared our expectations for concrete steps regarding the implementation of the provisions in the memorandum," Erdogan said.
Recently leaked information obtained by The Intercept has validated the fact the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is engaged in illegal activities designed to censor and deny the basic human right of free speech. DHS is engaged in an operation to influence social media to remove and censor content that runs contrary to its views. Facebook even created a direct portal to allow DHS to pull down truthful information, that would be information the DHS deems false. Censorship targeted information related to the Afghanistan withdrawal, election integrity, and information related to the apparent Covid 19 bioweapon, and Covid gene therapy shots, which also appear a biological weapon unleashed on humanity.
As The Intercept points out even Tom Ridge, former head of DHS, has stated that the United States government routinely lies whether it is about the Vietnam or Iraq wars, or the origination of Covid 19. DHS coordinated with Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking platforms. It is unclear of the level of interaction between DHS and other government agencies, and other private sector companies, although, based on the sudden engagement in politics and censorship by corporations, it is a safe bet that the DHS and other agencies are integrated with them.
The whole premise of government is to protect the Natural Rights of the individual. Some of these Natural Rights are codified in the Bill of Rights. Any government agency with an express purpose to undermine any of the Bill of Rights, or other obvious Natural Rights (I say obvious because we could get into levels of abstraction when conceptualizing rights) is in fact an enemy of the people. The government or its agencies can’t assault the Constitution and the Bill of Rights without becoming an enemy of the United States. When I say the United States, I mean the constellation of states that have entered into a compact and the people that those states they are designed to represent. Such actions by the DHS are literally illegal as they are a direct assault on the law and the essential purpose of government.
